Guys. I'm Dave Rubin. This is the Rubin report. It is January 13, 2025. Share subscribe Tap that notification bell if you have not. And just a couple quick things up top. You know we did not have a live show yesterday and I just quickly want to explain why. I think some of you figured it out due to a minor second scheduling snafu last week. But I had a colonoscopy yesterday. At 49 years old, you're supposed to do this. It was my first ever one and I fully did not realize and maybe I should have, maybe I should have asked around a bit more what the process of doing a colonoscopy was going to be like. And for those of you that have done it, you already know where this story's going. For those of you who have not done it, it's not the most fun thing in the world and you're basically on the toilet for 24 hours and pretty much pooping your brains out and on a fast beyond drinking the garbage stuff that you have to. Yada, yada, yada. I thought I could do the show. I thought I could do the show yesterday and in the morning it was very clear that I could not sit in this seat for an hour. So we did not do the show. I am happy to report that everything came back just fine. So let's put that aside for a moment. It's nice to get a clean record of health because the real thing that I want to touch on up top. This broke about 10 minutes ago. My friend and former multiple time guest on the show, Scott Adams has passed away. Scott Adams, of course, the creator of Dilbert. He has become, I would say, a huge, huge voice of reason in this space. Over the last couple years we've done many, many shows together. I think the one, the one on your lower left hand side was the first time we sat down together. That's in 2017. I think the top one's probably around 2020 and then the other one's from maybe two or so years ago. Scott and I text all the time and talked all the time. We just spoke a couple weeks ago to see if there was anything I could do. You know, he lived an incredible life, this guy. And really he was a master at framing. You know, I'm always talking about the narrative here and the signal, and he was really a master of framing stories. And how do you think about things differently and how do you influence people and how do you make arguments? And I really, really enjoyed becoming friends with him and talking about all sorts of things on the show with him. And I do want to mention one thing which I. I don't know that I've ever even said publicly, but when we started Locals years ago and we didn't know what we were doing, we were a little startup. Like, I had no idea what we were doing. We kind of built a subscription platform for me. And then we were like, I don't know, maybe some other people will like it. I called Scott, I told him what we were doing because he was very much in the free speech fight with us. And he immediately. He immediately said, dave, I want to try this. Let me see what I can do. He loved it from the get go. He became an investor in Locals and he was a trusted advisor for me. When he offered money, I was like, you know, to invest in the company, I was like, I don't even know what to do with it. Like, he was just great all around, and I really appreciated knowing him. And Scott, I know you were up there doing some seriously interesting stuff these days, and you've got good company because it's been quite a year. Charlie's up there, too. And, you know, even some people that we haven't lost but are kind of MIA at the moment. It's been a weird time for trusted voices. As I mentioned on the show a couple weeks ago, you know, we lost Charlie. Jordan Peterson has been quite ill. Dennis Prager took a spill, and he's large. Largely been mia. Now we've lost Scott, and I suppose that makes it a little more incumbent on guys like me to try to. To try to make some sense. Here's. Here's a quick video of Scott because he literally livestreamed until the end. It was just incredible strength. He went into hospice a couple days ago, but this is from about a week ago.

So you're going to hear for the first time today that it is my plan to convert. So I still have time. But my understanding is you're never too late. And on top of that, any skepticism I have about reality would certainly be instantly answered if I wake up in heaven. I do believe that the dominant Christian theory is that I was. I would wake up in heaven if I have a good Life. Yeah. I don't necessarily have to, you know, state something in advance. And so to my Christian friends, yes, it's coming. So you don't need to talk me into it. I am now convinced that the risk reward is completely smart. If it turns out that there's nothing there, I've lost nothing. But I've respected your wishes and I like doing that. If it turns out there is something there and the Christian model is the closest to it, I win. So with your permission, I promise you that I will, I will convert.

Well, I hope he had time to do that. I don't know for sure. But, you know, it's interesting. This is a guy who was a non believer his entire life and there he is, knowing the end is near and even and talking about risk reward as it relates to that. And maybe we could all do a little more of that these days. You know, it's like there's a logical part of our mind and then there's the spiritual part of our heart. And trying to figure out where those two things meet. Maybe that's what it's all about. Perhaps. Anyway, Scott, I will miss you and I will see you on the other side. But I know Scott would want us to get to the news because he was still covering it, just quite literally until his last, last breath. So let's dive in. I want to start quickly on an Iran situation and then we're going to cover more of it at the end of the show. But just in the last about 20 minutes or so, Donald Trump, on the rapid response Twitter and Truth social account, put this up. He wrote, iranian patriots, keep protesting. Take over your institutions. Save the names of the killers and abusers. They will pay a big price. I have canceled all meetings with Iranian officials until the senseless killing of the protesters stops. Help is on the way. Make Iran great again. Miga. Make Iran great again. President Donald J. Trump. So we'll post, we'll punt most of this conversation to the end of the show, but I do wanna just quickly say up top. I mean, Trump has proven himself. When he says something, he does it right. I mean, he was warning Maduro, Maduro. Now somewhere in a jail in New York, Trump is rejiggering the world order. He is using peace through strength. Now, it doesn't mean that whatever we may or may not do will work. I'm always sympathetic to libertarian voices that say, hey, America mucked up a bunch of stuff over the years. I would say the Trump administration and how we handle things is very, very different. But we are the last moral force in the world. It's simply true. It's simply true. Right. Like the people of Iran, 12,000 people have been killed so far. They're saying these people who are standing up to the mullahs, these Persians, who are largely Persians, but it's others, too, who are standing up to the mullahs and don't want to live under a religious theocracy. No one's coming to help them unless it's us. It's not NATO or any international agreement. It's not the Justice League. It'. Un. It's not Britain or France or anyone else. It's America. And that doesn't mean necessarily we should do it, but we should all think about what is our role in the world, and if we don't do potentially good things to help people in the world, what does that leave the world to be? So I wanted to mention that sort of at a philosophic mention, as a philosophical note up top. But now let's dive into what's happening in our country right now. Because while those people are truly brave and are fighting against a religious theocracy that's murdering in the streets, that has oppressed their people for free 40 years, you know, really since the Iranian revolution, and they are yearning for freedom, we have. We have a much more perverted, twisted version of it happening on our streets here. I would say, arguably a completely reverse version of it, which is that we have people who have been ginned up, largely leftists and genderqueer woke activists, who have been ginned up to hate ice, to hate police officers, to hate the government, hate the founding of the United States. Then, of course, there was the shooting of this woman in Minneapolis who turned her car to start hitting an ICE office, which now has sort of become the new BLM trigger in some sense here. And the Democrats are just diving in on this. So here is Ilhan Omar, a woman who married her brother and should be denaturalized and deported. Here she is calling Donald Trump a tyrant and completely lying about what ICE is doing.

You all have refused to back down. You all have to say that this resistance is not one that can be intimidated. We are showing the nation that regardless of what the tyrant in the White House believes, we know that we are here to stay. And this is our country. We are going to make a life here, and we are going to stand up for our neighbors here in Minneapolis.

Is that tone? The resistance can't be intimidated. I mean, I literally think she stole that from the Force Awakens. Isn't that what's his name, who was supposed to be a Nazi, said in the Force Awakens, I may have butchered that, but the whole movie was butchered. So it doesn't matter. The tyrant in the White House, we are here to stay. Well, yeah, if you're legal, you're here to stay. But ice's job is to get rid of illegals. That woman is trying to import the very sectarian violence that took place in her home country of Somalia, which is where she should be deported back to. She's trying to import it here. She's trying to gin up hatred on our streets so that there will be more incidences like there was a couple days ago, and now they have a base. I mean, man, my life's work is so connected to what happened here 10 years ago, screaming, hey, lefties. Liberals, could we all just not be insane? And they just. Every time there was a stop sign along the road to progress, right? They're progressives. Just go into progress. Doesn't matter that there's a chasm over here. Every time there was a stop sign and they could have gone, boy, we got Donald Trump elected once. Boy, we ended up getting Donald Trump elected twice. Boy, this, that, the other thing. We're. We're burning down the entire country. They've just gone and gone and gone. Well, here is what they have ginned up on the streets of Minneapolis to face you guys. Time for an armed resistance against the United States of America. Take your mask off. This is done. We're done. You're murderers. You shot a woman in a wheelchair. This is a great shot. All right, so look, we've seen this movie before. We did the BLM thing. We did all of the COVID Times. We burned down Pep Boys and Targets and Best Buys in the name of tolerance and diversity and all that. I think more people, fortunately, have wisened up to it this time and see the ridiculous. But listen to that guy who basically has the emotional capacity of a wwe wrestler from 1987. I remember when he beat Hacksaw Jim Duggan. Do you remember that? The armed resistance of the United States. He's calling for armed resistance against the United States. Like, that's pretty much a call for terrorism. He's not really mincing words right there. And how many of these people exist on our streets? And then, of course, you have the. Just the general people who take over streets, and they stop commerce, and they stop, you know, ambulances from getting to hospitals and everything else. Oh, and just the. We're gonna burn down the Train station. We're gonna take over the courthouse, the federal courthouse in Portland. We're gonna stop normal people from living their lives in the name of our revolution. And there is literally nobody except for John Fetterman. It is so wild. You could not have written that. ChatGPT would have said this is the dumbest story ever. That the guy who had brain damage is now the last man standing when it comes to sanity in the Democrat Party. Anywho, Ilhan Omar is making the rounds on media. Here she is with Margaret Brennan, who's trying to try. She's literally handing you a softball. Hey, tone it down, you crazy woman. And Ilhan just can't do it.

First off, the woman that we're going to show you the video again later, but it's like that's your takeaway. Don't get in front of a moving car. Are you insane, lady? Now I get it. You're here for a revolution. Everything you say is a lie and an obfuscation and a confusion for the revolution. That ICE officer was standing in front of a car. The car was blocking traffic. They were professional agitators and activists. He did not pull out his gun. We've shown you this many times. Until she started moving the car towards him. This wasn't just some summary execution on the street of a random person. But she just cannot stop herself. Here she is with Aaron Burnett.

I mean, it is the most BS statement again that the administration can put out. You see this officer clearly go in of front, front of the car as she reverses. You see his hands on the car. You see his feet is very far away from the wheels of the car. So there was no possibility that he might have been afraid of getting hit by the car. And so it is a clear pr. It's a different defense of a clear murder that we see on TV by the administration. And it is shameful and it should not be acceptable. It's unconscionable. And I stand by everything that I've said.

I am very comfortable with the word murder. There is no questionable way in which you watch the video that the administration itself, itself has produced, and you do not see this person, this officer, Jonathan Ross, clearly murdering this woman.

All right, as you're trying to do this clearly, so am I. Anyone in the United States government who might be watching this or seeing a clip later. If you're in the FBI, if you're in the doj, Tulsi over at National Intelligence, one of these agencies, you need to really start looking into this woman and dealing with this. She is here to burn down America. Let's show you. It doesn't even matter at this point, but let's show you the slow motion video again. And you can clearly see, first off, she's blocking traffic, which she's not allowed to do. Then she's backing up and you can see the officer behind, the one that's at her door. She. He does not pull out his weapon until she moves in front, until she moves to drive directly into him. You can show it one more. Let's just do it quickly one more time. Watch, watch his hand. Now watch. He's turning the wheel, starts moving in front, and that's when his hand goes up. Now again, whittling it down to all that sort of stuff in some sense is kind of. It's kind of superfluous in a way because these things are happening on the fly. You've got people screaming at them, they're throwing snowballs at them. They're calling them racists and Nazis and all this stuff. And we're whittling down a slow motion video to one second. But it does stand right. If this was the Subruder film, you'd go, okay, there's a reason we're watching it frame by frame by frame by frame. So she's a liar, but she's only here for the revolution. And you must understand that. So now I want to read you this. This incredible tweet that I saw yesterday. This is by a guy by the name of Will Tanner. He's the founder of the American Tribune. And he wrote this. And I think you'll see the connection High civilization existed for a brief flicker of a moment in Rhodesia a few decades where the primordial darkness of the Stone Age was vanquished. But then it returned in the name of equality and Zimbabwe is once again in ruin. The same happened in South Africa over a somewhat longer timeline. Centuries of hard work and immense effort are being erased so a few kleptocrats can steal and destroy all in the name of equality. And now the nation that once had a nuclear program doesn't even have clean and reliable drinking water. The same will happen in America if we let it. The toxic brew of race, communism and anarcho tyranny that turned the dark continent into being such into being such. After a century, civilization has taken deep roots on our shores and will destroy us as it destroyed them if we let it. Elon Musk, you may have heard of this guy, quite influential in certain circles, retweeted that and he wrote, unfortunately, this is where America is headed. Elon Musk might know a little something about what happened to South Africa because he is an African American. But the point there is that there are societies who are built in all of the best ways for the right reasons, that flourish and then they start crumbling because they import bad ideas, they import bad people. And we're starting to see it. Maybe we've been slow motion seeing it. Well, you know, people always ask, well when did this all start? And then, you know, there's always the debate about the decades long march through the institutions that the left took over. So they took over our education institutions, brainwashed generations of kids, they took over our media institutions, brainwashed generations of adults. Thank God for a free, to whatever extent, it's free Internet that Elon has a little something to do with so that we can do this and push against those bad ideas. But what do you think our founders would think about someone like Ilhan Omar doing what she is doing right now? Because it's not just that she's trying to instigate a revolution on the streets and call Donald Trump a tyrant and destroy everything that is good. As someone that is new to America, I mean think about that. Someone that is new. She is new and has amassed insane power and money worth $30 million as a member of Congress right now. She came in worth like 80 grand or something like that. Like that is what she is and what she is doing. But it's not just that then she uses her power not just to create chaos in the streets, but also to launder massive amounts of money to her Somali community. And then back to Somalia. Here she is upset that people are investigating her money laundering operation.

Because Tim Walls is kind of the head of this money laundering operation in some sense as he is the governor. The governor who is now not even running for governor anymore because this whole nonsense has been exposed. Talking about Tim Waltz. Go ahead. One curious detail. This interview was originally scheduled for the Minnesota State Capitol. Can you explain why that didn't come to pass and why we're here for one reason, Chris. Tim Walt is a coward. Is a coward. He would not guarantee that the Treasury Secretary of the United States of America would have police protection in the Minnesota State Capitol. He is afraid of what is coming. Okay, so look, you can go. But Dave, you know, we always hear those things. Someone's gonna get someone. And this is what politics is. And no one gets anyone. And I talk about that all the time. Like, right. Related to Covid stuff. It's like, still no one. No one. No one in the government paid for anything. Locking you in your house, not letting you go to grandma's funeral, ruining your kid's mind by not letting them go to school. All those things. However, again, something is different now. And I tend to trust these people. So Besson. And it's going to be the Department of Justice and it's going to be a whole bunch of different agencies. I think there's going to be some kind of RICO situation here, which is how they used to take out the Mafia because there has been massive money laundering. There are NGOs and nonprofits involved. And think about it, removing all of that. You're Tim Walls. You were about to be vice president. Subsequently, in the year since you lost the election, you've been out there, right? You're out there calling Trump a tyrant. You're out there thrilled that Tesla stock is down, even though now it's up more than 100% since you said that you've been out there. So you clearly wanted to stay in the picture. You wanted to remain relevant. And then this scandal breaks and within a week, within a week you announce you're not running for governor. So do you think something's going on here and they damn well know it? I do. I don't know what you think, but I think so. How is it that people who fundamentally hate America, even those who are first generation immigrants like Ilhan Omar, how do they end up in such positions of power? Well, they do it because the media is just another arm of the Democrat party. So you have sort of terrible people as politicians and then a terrible layer of people in the mainstream media. And then I guess it's no surprise how we end up in this situation. Let's stick with the political, the politician version of it for just a moment. Jacob Frey, this guy who is the worst sort of pandering progressive putts. There's one for you that you can possibly imagine. Here he is doubling down on his statement calling for ICE to get the F out of Minneapolis. Yeah, they stand by their statements. Do you stand by your statements? I stand by my statements. We stand by our statements. You know, this notion of. Of inflammatory comments. I mean, come on, guys, you know, I dropped an F bomb. I dropped an F bomb. They killed somebody. Which one of those is more inflammatory? I'm going with the killing somebody, actually. No, but I get that you don't understand that because you're a progressive and a buffoon and a pandering putt. F bombs aren't that bad. I dropped one on the program today and I may have to do it again. You never know. And killing people is bad. Except killing someone who is about to kill you who is not listening to the orders of federal law enforcement officials. Well, that's self defense. And I know that Ilhan doesn't understand that or doesn't want to understand that or want to acknowledge that because she just wants more chaos. And that's what she is going to bring to your city. So let's just be real clear here. Let's level set, as they say. Mr. Frey, you are going to oversee the destruction of Minneapolis. Now, maybe that's what you want, or maybe you're just a tool for the real radical. I don't know. I don't know what's in your heart. I don't even know what's in your mind other than you are just pandering. You're just terrible. But again, it's not just the politicians. It's the media that does the exact same thing.

And even when he first got to cnn, he was, look, he's obviously a Democrat and that's fine. They're all Democrats. Do you think that Wolf Blitzer's a Democrat or a Republican? Do you think Anderson Cooper is a Democrat or a Republican? Do you think that Dana Bash is a Democrat or Republican? Like, we could do this all day long. They're all Democrats. Fine. But he was sort of a little bit better then. Then the COVID stuff and obviously the Biden stuff and then writing a book about the scandal that he covered up and everything. I don't know how he's come so far, but she did a great job right there. Enough. And this is what Stephen Miller has also become a master of. And who do you give the credit to all of this for? It's Trump. Trump who just called out all of their BS from the very first time he did a debate, you know, 10 plus years ago at this point. It's crazy how time flies. He just called out their BS and that's what she's doing there. And I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess and we can try to find the clip and maybe I'm wrong, maybe I will be wrong. It'll be the first time ever. But if Jake Tapper interviewed Frey next and he really called him out on the. On the language, I will gladly play that clip tomorrow and eat crow on it. But the point is what he's. Yeah, you did a disservice to the officer by showing the video and showing what actually happened. It's nonsense, man. Stop being such an obvious lawyer for the Democrats. And they have no right to be here. And I don't care what their plan. If 38 of the 40 are just great people who want to open up Chinese food restaurants, it does not matter. You cannot be here. You got to go home. So everything they say is a lie. Every single freaking thing. And if you guys would do your job as state representatives, the feds wouldn't have to be here. But again, as I said at the top, as of this morning, it sounds like 12,000 people have been killed and that over the next 24 hours, the Iranian regime is really going to ramp it up. Like they're going to try to do a shock and awe and just kill as many people as possible so that the protesters will cow in fear. Now that's to the backdrop of that post that Donald Trump put up earlier this morning, basically saying keep going. And Donald Trump has made it clear he's, he does, he's not messing around with this stuff. So I don't know what that means. We do. But think about this. Israel, which is an absurdly, absurdly map of the Middle east real quick. Israel, which is an absurdly tiny country the size of New Jersey, Iran is probably 50, 100 times bigger landmass than it. Israel won that war in 11 days. And on 12, day 12, they asked the Americans to have some B2 bombers fly over and blow up those nuke sites, meaning that that showed the people of Iran, boy, this, this regime, these people, the ayatollahs, the mullah, the mullahs who are in charge of us, they're not as powerful, you know what I mean? Like Israel destroyed Hamas, destroyed their proxy Hezbollah in Lebanon. Like it's actually maybe a bit of a paper tiger. So these people are emboldened right now and as the article pointed out, let' they tried to do this, they got pretty damn close. But who was the President of the United States? It was Barack Obama and he let all of those people die. Now again, I'm not saying if we do something, it will work. This is very different than Venezuela, which I think will be just fine. I don't know exactly what will happen, but we are the last force in the world that can do anything to help these people. So let's show you some video of the protests in Tehran and then I'll show you a quick map of the Middle East. You have to realize how historic this is. These people, their Internet has been cut. They have been, they have lived through decades of secret prisons and women not being allowed to walk on the street and all sorts of unbelievably horrific conditions. And they're going through it now. And 12,000 people have been killed and they're still out there. It's just incredible. I think we have a map of the Middle east here, here. And you can see Israel is so small you literally can't fit a letter on the land mass. And look how Iran, how big Iran is. So I don't know, what is that, 50 times bigger, 80 times bigger? And they took them in 11 days. So that months ago showed, boy, this regime isn't so strong. So the people started getting inspired. And the Persians don't hate the Jews and the Jews certainly don't hate the Persians. So there's something historic happening here. The question is, what will America's role be in it? And again, it's unknown what would happen if we got more involved. I certainly wouldn't be for sending troops there, but is there some way we can hit regime military sites so that it weakens them potentially? Here's a little bit more from Visigrad24. Breaking Islamic authorities in Iran have announced the imminent execution of participants in anti regime protests. Officials said that following expedited court proceedings, the first group of convicted ringleaders of unrest will be executed on Wednesday morning. Among those sentenced to death is 26 year old protester Irfan Sultani. His execution is scheduled for 1-14-26, just days after his arrest during the protests. Reports say the execution will be carried out by a hanging. Some of the executions may be conducted publicly in accordance with Islamic law, according to human rights organizations. Sultani's family was informed of the death sentence on January 11 and granted only a brief 10 minute visit. Sultani was denied access to a lawyer, a fair trial or any opportunity to appeal, making what appears to be the first first in a potential wave of rapid executions aimed at suppressing dissent. So yeah, one of the things that people are saying now is that now that, you know, it Sounds again like 12,000 people have been killed that they may do a rush of public executions because what do I always say? It's about the signal. And what signal do they want to send? We are in charge, and if you stand up against us, you will die. Of course, the X factor in all of this is a guy by the name of Donald Trump yesterday.

Most people believe that the story of Iran begins in 1979 with the Islamic Revolution. But our story actually, actually goes much further back. It begins with the Red Green alliance, the alliance of the far left Marxists with the far right Islamists. Their union not only destroyed Iran, that ideology infected the West. That is why I say Iran is not the past. Iran is a warning of what happens when that ideology goes unchecked. In the 1960s, the Shah introduced the White Revolution. That was a modernization project. It increased women's rights, women's suffrage, education, literacy, land reforms, industrial expansion. It was supported by the Iranian people by referendum. But guess who rejected it. Of course, the Red Green Alliance. They said that that type of modernization was Westernization and that couldn't happen in Iran. That was when the Marxists and the Islamists began setting fire to everything. That's why they set fire to Rex cinema, famously, because they said cinemas were a symbol of Westernization. That movement eventually led to the 1979 revolution that overthrew the Shah and ushered in the Islamic regime.

She brings up something that I talk about all the time, right? It's the Red Green alliance. And the red Green alliance is the far left, which is signing up with the far right. And why do they sign up together even though they're supposedly at odds with each other? It's because they are in it for the revolution. So why is it that someone on the far left, say a Zorhan Mandami or an Ilhan or Omar or one of these types, aoc, et cetera, why are they largely in bed with someone like Tucker right now on the right? It's because they both want the revolution. Right? It's not that they necessarily agree, but they are sort of of their inconvenient neighbors while they usher in the revolution and maga. And what America truly stands for is the thing that is against that. But what we could be ushering in here is we're not gonna have the Islamic Revolution of 1979 right here in America tomorrow. But there could be some revolution that's. You can see it, you can see it in the future if these people get what they want. So what would you have to do to break all of the good things of America? You'd have to break us from our history. You'd have to break us from truth. Truth. You would have to brainwash us so that the bad ideas that all of our ancestors fled would be ushered right back in. It's a great brainwashing process which goes very slow. And it's divided in four basic stages, the first one being demoralization. It takes from 15 to 20 years to demoralize a nation. Why that many years? Because this is the minimum number of years which requires to educate one generation of students in the country of your enemy exposed to the ideology of the enemy. In other words, Marxist Leninism, IDE ideology is being pumped into the soft heads of at least three generations of American students without being challenged or counterbalanced by the basic values of Americanism, American patriotism. The result, the result. You can see most of the people who graduated in 60s dropouts or half baked intellectuals are now occupying the positions of power in the government, civil service, business, mass media, educational system.

So you've got the people of Iran trying to extricate themselves from unimaginable evil and you have brainwashed buffoons on the streets of America trying to usher it in. That is the strange place we seem to be in this first month of 2026. But we've got 11 months left of the year and it's America's 250th and I think everything's gonna be okay.
