Dave Rubin
Dave, what are you doing? I'm growing avocados, which is one of the many great things you can do in the free state of Florida. And by the way, on June 11th at the Fillmore Miami Beach, I'll be there with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, Adam Carolla and Jillian Michaels. DaveRubin.com events. What's up people? I'm Dave Rubin. This is the Rubin report. It's June 2, 2026, and yes, you can join us in about nine days. DaveRubin.com events and if you use code PRAGERU when you are signing out, you will get 25% off. It is going to be a great night and I am told that the Copal Tequila is going to flow freely. Hint, hint. Do join us if you're in the Miami area. It's gonna be a blast. This is just a big old show for you and it's a lot of politics and a lot of racehorse stuff and a little media narrative stuff and everything else should also ment la mayoral race are about to happen. We're not even really diving in on that today. If anything breaks, any weird stuff breaks in the next hour, we'll cover it, of course. But there's just a lot happening in the country right now. So I want to start with this main race, this main Senate race and this guy that we actually have not talked about a ton on the show, this guy Graham Platner, who is he is a far left. Like he is as far left crazy as you can get. And of course, the left never knows when the left goes too far. So he is the perfect sort of new school, progressive Democrat, Nazi tattoo on the chest, the whole thing. Well, now it turns out as the election is getting closer, that some. How do you even say it? Are there any sane voices left in the party? Some people in the Democrat Party are realizing that having this wackadoodle as far left as you can get, nut bag with a Nazi tattoo who has every crazy position that you can imagine under his hat, that maybe this isn't the best choice possible. So now, even on Ms. Now, the televised mental institution known as ms, now they are starting to turn on the guy. And we'll show you how. The lefties don't know how to deal with this because they know if they turn on him too far, then the progressive base will burn them down too. So that's why leftism has basically become an endless hostage situation where everyone tries to destroy everybody because they know if they don't that they will be destroyed next. That's the sort of bumper sticker version of it. So look at this. Here's a little timeline here that Ms. Now put up yesterday about Graham Platner controversies. And I'm gonna read them and I'll give you a little context to each one since we haven't covered this too much. But this is a JoyRide. So in August 19th of 2025, he officially launched his campaign. On October 16th, 2025, he deleted Reddit posts. Give you a little there. Journalists uncovered years of deleted Reddit comments made under a pseudo anonymous account. Posts included remarks critics described as sexist, racist, inflammatory, and sometimes supportive of political violence. Most attention focused on comments about rape prevention that could be viewed as victim blaming. October 17, 2025. Political director resigns. Little context. Campaign political director Genevieve McDonald leaves the campaign after that Reddit controversy we just told you about. October 21, 2025, chest tattoo with Nazi origins reported. And there it is. He's got the SS tattoo. Context Reports reveal Platner had a skull and crossbones tattoo resembling the Nazi SS Totenkopf symbol. Not resembling it, it was it. October 21, 2025. Former aide disputes Platner's explanation. Little context on that. Former associates challenged Platner's claim that he didn't know the tattoo's meaning. Right, because they were all saying he had it for years and about it. May 13, 2026. Full archive of deleted Reddit posts published context. The archive reveals a broad pattern of controversial remarks on race, sex, policing, guns and politics. Oh, my God, is this guy a scary right winger? He's Doing all the things. May 30, 2026. Now we're almost there. Sexually explicit texts with other women reported. Context reports allege Platner exchanged sexually explicit messages with multiple women while married. This is just a few days ago. 30th, 2026. Kik account allegation reports and context reports connect Platner to an active KIK messaging account used for sexting. For sexting. And the user age range on this kik platform is 13 to 24. Okay, so. And there's his picture. Do you even lift, bro? Okay, so there's a lot around this guy, the Nazi thing, all of the, like, pick a far left crazy policy. He's in on it, right? Like, he is. He's basically just a younger, sort of angrier Bernie, something like that. And they just love this guy because he's just awful. So they love him. That really is what's going on here. Anyway, now all this stuff is breaking about the guy and Emma now, as we just pointed out, reported on it. And here's CNN with a bit more.
Shermichael Singleton
He obviously has presented himself as an oyster farmer, but then the financial disclosures come out and it shows that, you know, his income comes from disability and that the oyster farm that he works on doesn't really make much money and often is supplying his mom's restaurant. You also have that, you know, he introduced himself as a working class Mainer. He, you know, at one point went to Hotchkiss Prep School. You know, he said that he got a $200,000 loan from the VA for his first house. Then it comes out that actually, you know, his dad loaned a.
Dave Rubin
Okay, so surprise, surprise, they're suddenly catching him in lies. He's not, you know, it's sort of like aoc. She's Jenny down the block. Like she came from nothing in Harlem. Turns out that that's actually not the case or wherever it was. Like, it's the same kind of thing. They need their origin story to be awful even when, you know, and they need to be awful and they're oppressed and all of those things. Even when they're privileged and they get these VA loans and then this. And. Or when the dad pays instead of the VA loan and when, like just. It's endless. It endless and obvious with these people. The question is, will the Democrat base in Maine, do they want to vote this guy in and will they accept that he's basically fabricated his history and everything else? Here's my friend, and he'll be on the show Friday. Shermichael Singleton, one of the few sane people over on cnn, explaining that people can accept a mistake. We all can accept a mistake. It's when you lie over and over and over again that maybe voters are going to turn us.
Commentator 1
What do you think voters can forgive a mistake? This is a pattern. This is a pattern of a guy who continues to lie over and over and over again. The Nazi tattoo. First he said, oh, I didn't know what it actually was. It turns out he knew what it was several years ago.
Commentator 2
That's true. I don't think that's true.
Commentator 1
Then when Manu and even the New York Times, our Lulu Garcia asked, is there anything else? Absolutely not. My record, squeaky clean.
Dave Rubin
I want to focus on the issues.
Commentator 2
What was the matter?
Dave Rubin
How people name?
Commentator 1
And what happens a week later we find other. This guy is sexting 12 women and you have to presume that none of these ladies will come out and give an interview. Is there more to come? I think Democrats are looking at this and thinking this is a massive mistake.
Dave Rubin
Yeah, that's right. Well, you can see they're thinking it's a massive mistake. When Ms. Now is suddenly covering a progressive in not a good light, they're realizing, oh man, we must have stepped in it. I don't know who that witch sitting next to Schermichael was, but the fact that she's still running cover for his Nazi tattoo is just completely ridiculous. I'm pretty sure in history of the world everyone who's ever gotten a Nazi tattoo knew it had something to do with Nazism. I don't think that's a great leap. Now what's funny about this? We're going to jump up. Warning. Wait, do we have the warning and the bleeping sound? We do have something. We do. I don't even know. I haven't even seen this yet. Right. Is it video or just audio? It's just audio. So we are now going to show you a clip of the View. That's good, Connor, you're getting avocado today. Little extra guacamole, my friend. Okay, so we're gonna show you a clip of the View. You can play it again right before we throw it in the clip. And they sort of don't know what to make of this. Cause they're all in on all the crazy leftist stuff. But now it's becoming so obvious that this guy is ridiculous and bad news that they kind of have to turn on him, but they're just unclear how to do it. We're gonna show you two Clips. Let's warn them one more time. These are character flaws that I'm tired of hearing about.
Commentator 2
Yeah, me too.
Commentator 1
I just.
Dave Rubin
I'm tired of it.
Commentator 1
I'm just like, just keep it in your pants.
Dave Rubin
Just stop, stop, stop being stupid.
Commentator 2
This is a character flaw. This isn't he. Platner has said, you know, the. He did it in form. I'm sorry. I didn't mean it. I've changed. This is a problem. The Purple Heart recipient, by the way, the video he insulted was a man who took fire to save his. And he said, this stupid guy should have died. It's only because they didn't have good aim that he's here. If you were capable of saying that at any time in your life, you've shown me who you are, and I heard you. This man should be nowhere near Congress.
Dave Rubin
Okay? So this is. I think this is super, super interesting. And this is one of those ones where when people say to me, dave, why do you show clips of the View? This actually is kind of important because they are still. When it comes to females who vote, they are still hugely influential. And they've been all in on, if there is a bad lefty candidate, they love them. Right? If there's a decent Republican candidate, they hate them. That's how it is. That's obvious. And then, you know, Alyssa Farah gets her cookie and they pat her on the head. But the fact that finally now enough stuff has come out where they're turning on this guy is super interesting. But now watch. So that's. What's her name again? Sarah Haynes. That's the one that my mom always wants me to say is not Mom. This is for you, Sarah Haynes. Not completely insane. And there's even Whoopi doing what I think is right there. Like, yeah, dude, like if you were sexting with kids on a underage platform. And like, okay, so there's Whoopi. I'm really trying today. And Sara Haines. That one's for you, Mom. Being decent. But here's now Sunny Hostin. And look how conflicted she is. Because she wants progressive power more than anything. And it might be a little too late to ditch this guy. So she doesn't know what to do with herself.
Commentator 3
I am conflicted.
Commentator 2
Thank you.
Commentator 3
I am conflicted. They asked Cory Booker how he felt about this because I think all the allegations are true. The sexting with other women while married is definitely true because his wife is the person that gave the messages to his campaign to give them a heads up. So the fact now that he's saying
Commentator 2
that she gave messages. I think she said that he had,
Commentator 3
that he told them.
Commentator 2
But we haven't seen messages.
Commentator 3
But she disclosed it, right? So why would she let it about that. So that part is true. He's also made racist remarks about against African Americans. So he's a cheater. He's an anti Semite because the fact that he had that tattoo for 20 years and didn't know what it was is a lie. So he's a liar, a racist, an anti Semite, homophobe. He's a homophobe.
Dave Rubin
I can't believe this. Even though she's having her own little struggle session there because she doesn't, she still doesn't know whether she'll, whether she really wants to support him or not. Because it's too late to get rid of the guy. But Sunny Hostin just said several true things at once. Of course he knew what the tattoo was, the cheating thing, his own wife told the campaign. That's true. That's how people know about this. And then someone on the campaign staff then leaked it to the media. But meaning the wife, in essence, she knew he was cheating sending these messages and when they were vetting him she warned the campaign staff. This is the type of thing that come out. Then somebody on the campaign over the last week or so actually broke it to the media, has said homophobic remarks, blah blah, blah, blah blah. I can't. Is this the first time ever? Have we ever played a clip of Sunny Hostin on this program where I have said my God, that was like ballpark sane. Is this it? Is this my retirement show? Goodbye everybody. Anyway, they don't know what to do because it's late to get rid of the guy. He is a wackadoodle leftist. Now they're, I mean the idea that they have called all of us Nazis and Trump, Nazi and Maga, Nazis and Hitler and all this stuff for 10 years and now they're running cover for a guy that had an SS tattoo for 20 years pretending he didn't know what it was. That in and of itself should be enough to show you what a sham this whole thing is. But now I'll show you how they just don't know what to do. Right? Cuz there is no leader of the party, there's no moral order of the party. The only thing that's holding the Democrat party together is the quest for power right now. And when that's your quest, you're going to be in bed with a lot of bad people. So here's a compilation of several senators and congressmen basically running cover for Platner because in their mind, they need that seat no matter what.
Interviewer/Host
I mean, do you think he's fit?
Commentator 2
Do you worry about Graham Platner? Are you okay with him because he's a Democrat?
Dave Rubin
Well, I'm going to wait to learn more about these recent allegations involving his texting other women. Ultimately, though, it's going to be up to Maine voters what they decide. What's your view? I'm busy running for governor of Colorado because I think we're living at a moment where the families in this state are getting crushed by the cost. He was really honest about the place that he was in his life when that. When those things happened. What a bunch of scumbags. Like, may this be a note to Republicans, never, ever apologize or turn on each other. And I hate to say so much. I hate to say something like that. I really do. But look at the way these people will excuse literally anything. Adam Schiff, who's just one of shifty Schiff, perhaps Trump's greatest name, like one of the worst people who basically created, not quite literally, but was the prime driver in the House on the Russia, Russia, Russia hoax and Trump impeachment and all that stuff. He'll wait to find out if the techs are real. The techs are real, 100%. Platner's wife gave them to the campaign. It's only that the campaign leaked it. So that's one thing. And do you just not care about the Nazi thing anymore? You guys have been screaming about Nazis are here, Nazis are here. But the point is they don't know what to do. So now I wanna connect this to one other thing because there's another race happening in New York right now for Congress, and there are two. I've played clips of these guys before. These are generic lefty losers. The first one is Brad Lander. This is the guy who, a couple weeks ago we showed you a clip of him where he speaks at a mosque. He's a Jew, and he goes to the mosque and he tells you how. He tells them how bad Israel is and how much he loves Palestine. And then Mamdani spoke. And then quite literally after that, the imam got up there in Arabic and talked about death to the infidels. So this guy is just a dimmy, ridiculous lunatic. And he's up there with Dan Goldman, who is also absolutely horrible lefty, but he's not quite that horrible, right? So he's like the Jasmine Crockett to the James Talarico of what's going on in New York. Like bad on everything, but that guy's even worse. Anyway, they had a debate last night in their little race and just to point out that everything with these guys is a race to the bottom. Here they are debating who called to abolish ICE faster.
Guest/Panelist
So I first called for abolishing ICE in 2018.
Dave Rubin
Representative Goldman first called for it a
Shermichael Singleton
month or two ago.
Guest/Panelist
He's a Danny come lately to the
Dave Rubin
movement to abolish ice.
Guest/Panelist
What they have been doing this last year is indeed especially egregious.
Dave Rubin
Can we get that guy Mars Men? I can't deal with these low testosterone guys anymore. That guy does not have testicles. I can't. What is it? Why is it there are so many people that talk like this? I'm just nothing and you're just nothing. I go to a mosque and tell them like they're going to behead you, you pathetic asexual loser. That's what's going to happen. And in this case I probably wouldn't object cuz you know what, you kind of brought it upon yourself. So there he is. I was always for abolishing ice, right? Like I want all the illegals here and I want the super meth on the street and the mayhem and the crime. He just did it last week. And then Goldman was like, well I was thinking about it beforehand and like good luck Democrats, good luck with all of that. Send that guy I want get Mars Men on the phone for me after the show. And I'm going to send Brad Lander a lifetime supply of Mars Men. I'll pay for it myself. I'm not kidding. Let's talk about Superpower for a minute, which he could use a little of this too. And then we'll talk about Jill Biden, who's on her book tour. Remember, she's making Jake Tapper's book tour look good. Go. Healthcare has always been reactive, waiting for problems to show up before doing something about them. Superpower is changing that. With over 100 biomarkers from a simple lab test, Superpower gives members a detailed look at their health, including heart health, hormones, metabolism, vitamin levels and more. Superpower then turns that data into a personalized action plan with recommendations tailored to each member's goals. Superpower also tracks results over time, helping members monitor long term trends, understand their biological age, and make smart, smarter health decisions based on real data, not guesswork. Make this the year you stop guessing about your health. With Superpower for a limited time, listeners can get $20 off their membership. Head on over to superpower.com and use code RUBEN at checkout that superpower.com code REUBEN. All right, so let's jump to Jill. Doctor. She's a doctor. Whoopi wanted her to be. What was it? Surgeon General. And then realized she wasn't that kind of doctor. Dr. Jill Biden, who for some reason, with her doctorate, never, never was able to examine Jo. She's on this book tour, and we showed you this clip, and I want to recap a little bit, and then we'll get to where she's at now. But here she is telling CBS that she thought Jo had a stroke during that horrible debate performance. She just forgot to tell everybody.
Interviewer/Host
Were you horrified as you saw it unfold? I wasn't horrified. I was frightened because I had never, ever seen Joe like that before. Or since. Never or since. Yes. Or since. I've never seen him like that. Never? No. What happened? I don't know what happened. I mean, as I watched it, I thought, oh, my God, he's having a stroke. And it scared me to death. Did you ever see signs that he was falling into cognitive decline? No. Yeah, he was slowing down. He was getting older. I mean, we all observe that when, you know, it's a very intense job. I think it ages you. Quick.
Dave Rubin
God, this is so crazy. We are watching the exact same type of reclamation project and lie through the media. The lies that get laundered through the media, exactly what they did when Jake Tapper wrote that book. You were part of it. Jake Tapper. You were the media part of covering for Joe Biden. Why is it that literally, me, before Joe Biden was president, I was talking about his cognitive issues. I'm not a wizard. I don't have a magic eight ball or anything else. And you, too. Why is it that all of us online were talking about that, that for years, even when he was vice president, there were some grumblings about some of that stuff. But then it was pretty damn clear that by the time he was running, something was not right. And what she's telling you is she thought he had a stroke. Even though if you try to remember where you were the night of the debate, I'm sure most of you watch the debate. Remember, it happened right at the beginning. And everybody. I think we can maybe even find a tweet if we can look for it. I'm pretty sure I tweeted out right before the debate something like. Like the whole night is just based upon how long it will take Joe to break down. Like Everyone kind of knew that was the thing, and it happened basically immediately. And then the moderators basically helped him get through it, but it was a disaster. And then, as you know, then the airlock broke. Then suddenly that night, cnn, MSNBC at the time, et cetera, then they were all allowed to talk about what was wrong with Biden, even though all of us had been talking about it for four plus, of course, right after that debate, even though she apparently thought he had a stroke, here she is telling him he did a great job.
Interviewer/Host
Joe, you did such a great job. You answered every question. You knew all the facts. And let me ask the crowd, what did Trump do? Lying. Yes.
Dave Rubin
God, you look at him standing there. Here's where I can try to do the human part, even though it's hard to do around him because the whole thing was such a far. But with his hands clasped and he kind of looks like he doesn't know where he is. And you did a great job. That's what you would say to a third grader who got their first gold star on a test or something. Just completely ridiculous. So anyway, you've seen all of that already, but now she's on this tour, basically pretending that what we all saw in real time didn't happen. Here she is being asked about, well, that moment right there, there, I'm his
Interviewer/Host
wife, I've got to lift him up. So we go to the next event and I'm thinking, what do I say that will lift him up? That is true. I want to say the things that are true. And so I said, you know, you answered every question. My mind's racing.
Dave Rubin
You know, that's a pretty low bar. Yeah, that's a pretty low bar. Not only is it, is it a pretty low bar, the fact that she says, I want to say something. That's true. He answered every question. How about the question that he completely fumbled and he started talking about Medicare and like, it was an utter embarrassment and he was not fit to be president and certainly not fit to be president again. Here's a bit more from that interview. You continue to insist that the president was fine. How do you square thinking that he may have had a stroke with what you were saying in the days and weeks after? How do you square that?
Interviewer/Host
Well, look, Craig, look at it from my point of view. So I'm watching just like everybody else was scared to death. Like, what is going on? He gets off the stage, I see he appears to be okay. He says to me, jill, I really, in other words, messed up, didn't I And I said, yes, you did.
Dave Rubin
You said, yes, you did. You didn't say, honey, I think you might have had a stroke. We should probably go see a doctor. It's just absolutely absurd. But the reason I'm showing you this is you really have to understand they're still able to get away with this stuff. There are people who are watching those mainstream media programs with Jill Biden going, oh, she does seem like a good woman and she just wanted to tell the truth. And you know, she had no idea that anything was wrong with Joe. It's completely absurd. And then we're finding out more even subsequently from her. Look at this. From Tom Elliott to is the journalist on X, Jill Biden in early 2024. Maybe it's a bad sign. Joe wakes up seven times a night to pee. Now we do know he subsequently was diagnosed with late stage prostate cancer. Jill Biden, after Joe's humiliating debate performance later that year, had he grown too old for the job And I hadn't noticed, obviously that's an excerpt from the book. And again, it's just completely absurd. But now I wanna flashback six years because six years ago, and I can't believe now I'll give Jake Tapper a little bit of credit. He tried to acknowledge that there was something wrong with Joe Biden right to Jill's Dr. Jill's face.
Commentator 1
Your husband has been known
Dave Rubin
to make the occasional gaffe.
Interviewer/Host
Oh, you can't even go there. You can. After Donald Trump. You can go there.
Dave Rubin
I can't even say the word gas.
Interviewer/Host
Nope.
Dave Rubin
But you now done.
Interviewer/Host
It's gone.
Jerry Seinfeld
The gaffe issue is over because.
Interviewer/Host
So over.
Dave Rubin
All right. I don't have to give Jake that much credit, but he did try a little bit. But guys, there is no comparison. Even now, even Donald Trump now years later. That was six years ago. Donald Trump doesn't make gaffes where he doesn't know where he is or what he's saying or can't finish a sentence. Does Donald Trump speak in sometimes like some circulary kind of ways? And has he always done that? And he speaks in a lot of bumper sticker stuff all the time. Right. Sometimes he repeats himself right after. But it's not a repetition out of. I don't know what I just said. It's just sort of the way he is as a salesman. It's the same thing he's been doing for all these years. Joe Biden literally could not get to the end of a sentence. We have no idea. Still Trump, truly, who was the president and who was in charge of that auto pen and everything else. And while thatwhile we've already put all that behind us in a lot of respects, and there will likely never be anyone to pay the price for that, and no one will ever admit what they actually did and everything else. The reason I'm showing you this is because you still have to acknowledge the media can stillthey can still smooth out the lies. And it's just incredible that people still fall for it. It however, a little something is changing in mainstream media, mostly thanks to Barry Weiss over on cbs. We'll get to that in just a second. But first, balance in nature. You've probably heard people talking about getting more nutrients in your diet, but actually doing it consistently, that's the hard part. That's where balance in nature makes things simple. You're getting real phytonutrients, the natural compounds found in fruit and vegetables that give them their color, taste and nutritional value without having to overhaul your entire routine. Their whole health system combines fruits, veggies, fiber and spices into one easy d habit made with real ingredients and no fillers or artificial junk. If you're looking for a simple way to support your nutrition without overthinking it, this is a great place to start. Go to balanceofnature.com today and get 10% off when you use code. Reuben. All right, so as you guys may remember, about a year ago or so, Bari Weiss, formerly of the New York Times, she's just a moderate liberal. I would say she's just like a Bill Maher style old school liberal. I know a little something about that. As you may remember, she, very publicly, what, five years or so ago, quit the New York Times, saying that the entire thing had been taken over by the woke progressive parasite and that there was no journalistic standards anymore and she just wanted no part of it. She then went independent. She created the Free Press, which was a subscription journalism outfit, became very, very successful, and then CBS brought her on board to take over the news division just in the last year or so. Well, she's going in and cleaning up CBS News. And I think when we first covered the story, my position on it was, you know, if there's any chance for mainstream media ever again, then what could happen? The hope would be that she would clean up CBS a little bit and then people would start paying attention to it again. They'd say, oh, you know, this does feel a little more honest. This feels like journalism. And then that in and of itself, because it would garner people by being decent, it would garner people and it would garner respect, could then force NBC to say maybe we shouldn't be so partisan. And then maybe CNN, New York Times, etc. Etc. Now, I don't know that all of that will happen, but CBS does seem to be righting the ship, but it's not coming without some controversy. Listen to this from Fox. CBS News fired several 60 Minutes employees, including correspondents Sharon Alfonse and Cecilia Vega and executive producer Tanya Simon this week in a sweeping move as Bari Weiss shakes up the storied magazine. So they brought in a guy by the name of Nick Bilton. He used to be a special correspondent for Vanity Fair, and he's taking over 60 Minutes. And 60 Minutes really is the flagship news program on CBS that you guys know and we'll show you some evidence of has been one of the main anti Trump lie laundering machines in mainstream media. But here's Nick Bilton talking about his new gig. He says, it's the honor of my career to become the executive producer of 60 Minutes. I just shared the note below with incredible staff and I can't wait to get started in there. He expands a little bit more on some of his journalistic philosophy. Barry Weiss then said, nick Bilton is one of the most entrepreneurial and ambitious journalists working today. I am thrilled that he is the next executive producer of 60 Minutes. And then there's his note. Now here's where it gets interesting because. Because as Barry goes in and tries to take 60 minutes, which has gone the New York Times route, which caused her to leave the New York Times, she's getting major pushback because the people that like propagandizing everything, they're not happy when someone comes in and says, oh, we're gonna do actual journalism here. So this is from Dylan Byers, the founder of Puck News, New Sharon Alfonsi. This is one of the people just fired goes scorched earth on Barry Wild. Over the weekend, my contract with CBS News expired, drawing to a close nearly 20 years with the network, including more than a decade at 60 Minutes, following an intense editorial dispute over our C COT story. You guys know that's the jail in El Salvador. Repeated attempts by my representation to establish a path forward were met with absolute silence from network executives. The message could not be clearer. My time at 60 minutes is apparently over. In the coming days, network leadership may attempt to hide behind corporate euphemisms like modernization and restructuring. To explain away my departure, don't be misled. This was not routine corporate transition. It was a deliberate choice to penalize a journalist for refusing to sanitize factually accurate reporting. And it sends a chilling message to the entire newsroom. Fearless independent reporting has always been the defining standard at 60 minutes. Today I had to laugh through that one. Today, CBS management is abandoning that mission, choosing access journalism over accountability and protecting power rather than scrutinizing it. The wall between editorial independence and corporate interest at CBS is being methodically torn down. Journalists willing to challenge authority are being pushed aside in favor of those who will not. If this continues, the result will be a broadcast that looks like 60 minutes but lacks the courage and character to produce journalism that matters. To my colleagues who became family, working beside you has been the privilege of a lifetime. You are second to none. I've learned exactly what it costs to hold the line right now. Hold it anyway. Viewers and the people who trust us with their stories deserve nothing less. Okay, now obviously I laughed through a little bit of that because as you know and again, we'll show you a clip in just a second. 60 Minutes has been terrible for the last decade. I don't know when it really started, but I think in the world Since Trump, 60 Minutes has been horrendous. And there you have someone who getting fired. I'm not totally familiar with entirely her reporting on the CCOT story or anything else, but if you're such a great journalist, you'll find another place. They have someone else in charge right now, and she's deciding to run the place a little bit differently. Here's a bit more about the tension over there. This From Business Insider, 60 Minutes correspondent Scott Pelley. You all know Scott Pelley exposed a key point of the tension in the Barry Weiss era during a fiery exchange on Monday at a staff meeting, Peli reportedly accused Weiss of murdering the iconic weekly news program. She does not love this place, peli said, according to an audio recording obtained by Status in the New York Times. She was brought in to kill it, and she's doing exactly that. Peli made the reported remarks during an exchange with the show's new top producer, Nick Bilton. Peli has spent more than three decades at CBS News. Now this is interesting because Scott Pelley is thought of, I suppose, as someone somewhat respected in mainstream media, and he's upset that she's murdering it and killing it. 60 Minutes in his view. But again, 60 Minutes has been terrible as a place of journalism. As a matter of fact, I'm gonna skip this next clip. Let's get right to it. You may remember this Donald Trump on 60 Minutes talking about Russia.
Leslie Stahl
Jim walk out of a store and he's walking with an ice cream.
Dave Rubin
Cream.
Leslie Stahl
And the question the media asked him, what kind of ice cream, what flavor ice cream do you have? And he's in the midst of a scandal.
Interviewer/Host
He's not.
Leslie Stahl
And he's taking. Of course he is, Leslie.
Interviewer/Host
Come on.
Leslie Stahl
Of course he is. It's the biggest, second biggest scandal. The biggest scandal was when they spied on my campaign. They spied on my campaign.
Interviewer/Host
There's no real evidence of that.
Leslie Stahl
Of course there is. It's all over the place, Leslie. They spied on my campaign and they got called.
Interviewer/Host
Can I say something? Something. You know, this is 60 Minutes, and we can't put on things we can't verify.
Leslie Stahl
You won't put it on because it's bad for Biden.
Interviewer/Host
We can't put on things we can't verify, Leslie.
Leslie Stahl
They spied on my campaign. Well, we can't verify it's been totally verified. No, it's been. Just go down and get the papers. They spied on my campaign. They got caught.
Interviewer/Host
No.
Leslie Stahl
And then they went much further than that, and they got caught. And you will see that, Leslie, and you know that, but you just don't
Dave Rubin
want to put it.
Interviewer/Host
As a matter of fact. I don't know.
Dave Rubin
Well, I don't know if you didn't know it, Leslie Stahl, but it all was true. Yes. We now know they spied on Donald Trump's campaign. He's also pointing out what he's referencing there is the Hunter Biden laptop as the biggest scandal beyond just the Russia, Russia, Russia hoax, which was connected to spying on his campaign. He's also pointing out the absurdity of how they treated Trump when he was president versus Joe Biden, who everyone knew had massive cognitive problems, and they were only asking about his favorite ice cream. So Bari Weiss is looking at that thing as she takes over CBS and going, well, was this something worth keeping? You know, it's sort of what I always say about the Tonight Show. You know, it's like the Tonight show of Johnny Carson was a certain thing, and it was beautiful and elegant and funny and interesting and elevated. And what the Tonight show has subsequently become or what all the latest night shows have become is something very different. Just because it's still called the Tonight show doesn't mean it's the same thing. And that's what 60 minutes is. 60 minutes of 1984 is very different than 60 minutes of 2026. So, anyway, all of that, you might say some of this is kind of insider baseball and why should you care? But there's always going to be. I should change that. To whatever extent there is always going to be a mainstream media, then you want it to be at least within the realm of possibility, of decent and truthful. 60 Minutes has not been that. And if we don't have something that is mainstream, that is kind of decent, it's hard for us all to bounce off of things. Right? Because if there's nothing mainstream anymore, and maybe this is where we'll be in five years, where there's no mainstream left and there's just nothing sort of trusted, and maybe we're past that point already. But then, okay, then you guys will tune into my show and someone else will tune into somebody else's show. And quite literally we will report on the same things and we will all believe different things. And I don't know how a functioning society will deal with that. So anyway, we'll see where that story lands. A lot of people are calling on Barry to just get rid of Scott Pelley. Now. I don't know that she'll go that far, but I think it's just an interesting note of narrative stuff around the media. Let's get caught up on where we're at with this Iran war news. Not war kind of war. Maybe ceasefire. Not really ceasefire. This from the QBC report breaking. Iran announces it is ending all negotiations with the US and vows to completely block the Strait of Hormuz. Per cnbc. Iran says it's ending negotiations due to repeated ceasefire violations, including Israeli strikes in Lebanon. Iran also threatens to block Bab el Mandeep Straight. Here is a CNN reporter saying Trump was he'll keep the blockade and do
CNN Reporter
whatever he wants timeline on any of this. And he actually said that he hadn't heard from Iran over these reports that they were going to stop negotiating, but said that maybe it wouldn't be a bad thing. And he did add this. He says, it doesn't mean that we're going to start bombing or dropping bombs all over there. We'll just go silent. We'll keep the blockade. The blockade is a piece of steel. And then goes on to say, I think I can wait as long as they want this idea that they are losing money every day.
Dave Rubin
Okay, so not an idea that they're losing money. We know that they're losing about 500 million in oil exports a day. Right. If they can't get that oil out, then they have a major problem on their hands. And also China has a problem. We've talked about this a million times. About 13% of China's energy comes through that Strait of Hormuz from Iran. But a lot of this seems to be hung up on whether the ceasefire deal at the beginning included Lebanon or not. Because Hezbollah, which is a Iranian backed terrorist organization that basically runs Lebanon, the government of Lebanon barely runs its own country. An Iranian terrorist organization runs it. They've been lobbing rockets into Israel since October 8, quite literally. We had October 7 and October 8. There was not one Israeli or Jew or anything else in Lebanon. And then they got in on the war and they haven't stopped since. So Israel has been responding. Here's Trump on what's going on over there. I had a conversation with Bibi today asking him not to go into a major raid of Beirut, Lebanon. He turned his troops around. Thank you, Bibi. I also had a conversation with representatives of the leaders of Hezbollah and they agreed to stop shooting at Israel and its soldiers. Likewise, Israel agreed to stop shooting at them. Let's see how long that lasts. Hopefully it will for eternity. I mean, in this case, I would say respectfully, Mr. President, like it's not going to end in eternity because they're a terrorist organization committed to the destruction of Israel and who have already taken over Lebanon for all intents and purposes. So you kind of want to take them out. But I get it. It's messy right now. People are tired and they want this thing to be wrapped up nicely. And speaking of wrapped up nicely. So anyway, it's somewhat paused at the moment, although it sounds like it's going to be a small short pause. Let's say. Here's Trump on truth Talks are continuing at a rapid pace with the Islamic Republic of Iran. Thank you for your attention to this matter. President DONALD J. Trump so again, the major, it seems like the major military part, that 40 day situation is over and now it's just this tit for tat thing and negotiations and everything else. And so we will see where all that lands. But to tie the whole show together, let's go back to this Graham Platner fella because as I said at the top, he is as far left wackadoodle as you can get on everything on economics and on every policy, which has now also I would say connected to just like Internet slop stuff. So one of the things that you're seeing on the Internet slop side of things that comes from both sides, it comes from the Tucker kind of woke right side and it comes from this Platner ridiculous progressive stuff is that somehow Trump got us into this war with Iran because of Epstein Even though Joe Biden had. And the Democrats could have released all of the Epstein files for all of those four years when they controlled everything and didn't do anything. Yes, they were really sitting on documents that indicted Donald Trump and they didn't do anything. But unfortunately, the Democrat base has been so. They're so dumb, they are so not thoughtful. They have been so broken that they buy some of this slop. So here is Platner with this is just pure Internet slop.
Graham Platner
Everybody I talk to understands that this is a war that has been started because Donald Trump is in the Epstein files and he doesn't want us reading them. Everyone I talk to understands that this war has been started because Benjamin Netanyahu has been begging for it for 30 years and finally found a president who was stupid enough to do it.
Dave Rubin
God. So do you understand what I mean by Internet slop? What he says? Everybody I talk to says Donald Trump is in the Epstein files and that's why we're at war right now. Everybody I talk to, Joe Biden and the Democrats controlled the government for years. Barack Obama was president. Anyone remember him? So you're telling me all of these years went by when they controlled all the intelligence apparatus and everything else, and for all the things they've thrown at Donald Trump and tried to make sure he can't do business in New York and can't get on ballots when he's running and all of the things he did and what they never got around to was revealing that he also was a pedophile. Somehow that makes sense. And that Donald Trump is that Bibi found the stupid president. Like it's so extraordinarily thin and ridiculous and dumb, but their base loves it because they're all brain broken. They just love it. And to show you more just slop kind of stuff, this is where these guys are at. You know, as I pointed out yesterday, it was an offshoot of what something that Gutfeld said on the Five. It's like they're just. At this point, I think we all have to come around to a position where the lefties, they're in the constant race to get worse and it's just slop and nonsense and we should mock it and everything else, but we should stop trying to outright debate it or debunk it because there's no win in that. We need to keep building better things. We need to quite literally build better things, like build infrastructure. That's better. But we also need to build more alliances and things of that matter. Here is more slop on cnn. This is former Ms. At the time MSNBC host Torre. I guess he's a guy, girl or whatever. And he's very upset that Stephen Miller made a joke about Talarico who said that Jesus was non binary. I mean, what kind of sentence is that?
Guest/Panelist
Go trans is the acceptable racism that we can say whatever. We can call CIS people trans and that's okay. And neither of you are upset about that. That is completely ridiculous.
Dave Rubin
All right, what?
Guest/Panelist
That's what Stephen Miller said. And neither of you can.
CNN Reporter
Neither one of us are defending. Like, we're not.
Guest/Panelist
Yeah, because
Dave Rubin
we're talking about.
Guest/Panelist
But no, we were talking about Stephen Miller. And the most offensive thing that was said was that calling a CIS person trans. So that is a. A horrible thing to be. That is disgusting. That is completely unacceptable in 2026. And why he would say that on television and it's okay. Is mind boggling.
Dave Rubin
All right, we will leave it there. Next for us, the president. You know, you know, you really like slop. You're a slop king. Is that a word? A slop maxer. How about that? Is that a thing like that guy's a slop maxer. That's what that. When you say something so stupid, when you say that trans is acceptable racism. Is trans a race now? Did something happen in the last hour or so? No, it is not. When you say something so stupid that the other people on CNN actually sit there silently. You should never even be allowed on CNN again. Right. Like at that point. What are you talking about? But do you see? It's the same thing as the clip before. It's this broken brain stuff. Yes, Trump's a pedophile. That's why we're at war with Iran. Even though the Democrats must have known it because they were in charge but never did anything about it. And also, trans is a race. Bless. It's bleh. Can you get me. We're gonna do this one time on this program. This will be the only time we do it. Find me a Italian brain rot video. For those of you that don't. There is just a portion of the Internet that is just slop and brain rot. And these people are. These people are pushing it in. We'll cold close with a Italian brain rot video. These are things that are breaking young people's brains. But now to end I. So we'll cold close with that. I don't want to end with brain slop, but I want to end with. I thought this was a nice video. We played a portion of this on actual Friends, last week, this is about a year ago, Jerry Seinfeld giving a commencement speech at Duke. And it's like, guys, maybe instead of brain rot and slop, maxing and conspiratorial thinking and trying to destroy everything, maybe. I can't believe we're going to kind of quote Jerry Seinfeld on what? What? Figuring out what life's really all about.
Jerry Seinfeld
What I like is we're smart enough to invent AI, dumb enough to need it, and still so stupid we can't figure out if we did the right thing making work easier. This is the problem. So obsessed with getting to the answer, completing the project, producing a result which are all valid things, but not where the richness of the human experience lies. The only two things you ever need to pay attention to in life are work and love. Things that are self justified in the experience. And who cares about the result? Stop rushing to what you perceive as some valuable endpoint. Learn to enjoy the expenditure of energy that may or may not be on the the correct path.
Dave Rubin
Guys, he just explained. I was a little. We had a little debate right before we started the show today whether we were going to end with that or not because I wasn't sure if it really drove home the point. But now watching it for the third time today, it really does. What does he talk about? We have to figure out things that are based in the richness of the human experience. And he's talking about work and love because they're self justified by what he's saying is at the end there. All these other people, they're on these crazy pursuits that basically make them crazy. That's what the slop maxing is. That's what the conspiratorial thinking is. That's what's trying to own everybody on Twitter and ratio these people. That's what all of that is. But what are the things that actually matter that are self justified? I love that work and love. Imagine if you spent most of your days trying to do good work, whatever it is is that you do. Somebody has to be the best ditch digger out there, doing the best work you do and pursuing love. And if you did that, maybe you wouldn't be so hysterical. Maybe you wouldn't be so prone to conspiracy theories and brain broken slot maxing and thinking that trans is a race. Thank you for watching the program. We've got a post game show in 30 seconds@rubenreport.locals.com oh, and we're ending with a little Italian brain rot. I apologize in advance, but this is what Italian Brain Riot is. And this is no this drivel that we are about to. How long is it, Connor? How long are we going to bludgeon these people? 60 seconds. It's 60 seconds. This is no different than watching these buffoons on CNN or msnbc or listening to a Graham Platner stump speech. It.

Host: Dave Rubin
Date: June 2, 2026
In this episode, Dave Rubin delivers a lively, sharp, and often biting breakdown of the political and media fallout over Graham Platner, a scandal-ridden progressive Democrat running for Senate in Maine. Rubin dissects how both mainstream and progressive media, notably "The View," are turning on Platner as scandals mount, reflecting broader dysfunction in the Democratic Party. The show also explores media bias, recent shakeups at CBS/60 Minutes, the Biden administration's ongoing challenges, the Israel-Iran situation, and the cultural phenomenon of “brain rot” and internet slop in public discourse.

Rubin’s language is brash, sarcastic, and direct, adopting a culture-warrior stance against progressive politics and mainstream media. The episode centers on the self-inflicted wounds of the Democratic Party, the failures and hypocrisies within mainstream media, and the broader cultural malaise in American public discourse. He concludes by calling for a return to foundational values (“work and love”) while implicitly critiquing the distractions, conspiracies, and infighting seen in today’s political culture.
For listeners new to the show, this episode is a fast-paced mix of media critique, political scandal, and cultural commentary with frequent direct quotes and clips, all filtered through Rubin’s signature sardonic style.
