So at the time of this, I'll probably be coming back from Portugal by the time this, by the time this airs. I didn't do a hey, I'm headed to Portugal thing. My house sitter probably want to know when I'm coming back. But yeah, that's the plan. I want to see those big waves. I want to do a bunch of other things. I don't think I'll make it over to those islands because looking at it, it's like two hour flight there and back. So if you fly across the Atlantic, first thing you do, you go to the other islands when you only have like, I don't know, 10, 10 days. I'm not sure. All right, so let's see here. Yeah. I feel like we've asked versions of this question before, but yeah, it is, it is weird. Like the transition has been different because at the old place, like we definitely had more things on our plate. But I always was. And this isn't like I'm, this isn't, you know, don't clip this and be like, oh, he's resentful or whatever. But like a lot of the things that I feel like I used to do took me away from the thing that I wanted to do most or I needed to do the most was like worry about Ryan's show and making the show better and making, you know, the different versions of our show Whether.

But you also, like, I think you got to a point too where like you loved working on Bill's show separate of mine too on everything else because you're just, you're just a really trusted guy.

managed like three guys as well and we had to do other stuff and it was like improving vacation time and like.

Yeah, there were. Yeah. And like I got into this because I like doing content stuff. Right. I, and I know like being a manager and you know, the other stuff kind of like gets you to certain levels. And that's definitely true. But like I, I, I did miss like, hey, like the day to day of like am I just, I'm not consuming as much like other content as I want to. Like, how are we comparing ourselves to a different show? What are other shows doing that we need to kind of incorporate in what we're doing? And I felt like, you know, it's like, hey, we're turning the mic on. I booked, you know, we have a guest and like I didn't work with Ryan enough or work with you, Kyle, enough to be like, hey, what's the actual long term plan of the show? So having said that, to say this, that there's just way more of that now. There's way more of like working day to day on Ryan show long term planning. We have obviously I don't want to speak, you know, out of turn here, but there's other things planned for, you know, what we have going Ryan obviously as well in the next couple years in the partnership with Barstool. So there's like different things beyond that that have to do with Ryan but also aren't, you know, day to day Ryan show that I like to work on as well. So I'm kind of scratching both itches, but I feel like to answer like the day to day stuff, like we're planning out segments, we're booking guests for the most part. I mean we do have bookers, but like, you know, a lot of, a lot of guests I will book myself just because I have their numbers and have the relationship with of it is dealing with sales. Some of this, and this is the credit to Tom too is dealing with some of the Netflix stuff which has been a different sort of like challenge for us of like how to get things onto those platforms. So yeah, I'm trying to think of what else we've missed. You know, it's been awesome to have like Tom and Kevin's help. Tom's our video guy and Kevin's our social guy. Because that was stuff that we didn't have before that we either neglected or were having to do ourselves. Uh, so I, I don't know. I would just say it's, it's, it's more long term planning than it has been before because I kind of felt like we neglected at the old place and I'm happy to kind of be doing more of that.

Yeah, it was a button pusher. I'm still a button pusher, but I'm pushing less buttons. I mean like, though from the. I used to do like three shows. I think at my height I was doing like six shows at a time. Like when one shiny pod was rolling and, and Ryan was here and Bill was here and like doing other stuff like that. Um, but yeah, I'm still pushing buttons, but I used to be the video guy and the social guy and now I'm the audio guy and I work with the video guy and the social guy. Shout out Kevin and, and yeah, we're brand new into here. I'm open to helping out some more. But yeah, I just wanted to get in this truck as it was leaving and we'll figure out what else I could do if it doesn't feel like it's enough. But yeah, I certainly am doing less work these days.

I just wanted to write in and provide a quick and easy explanation for the woman versus female thing because it comes up all the time. I'm not particularly conscious, informed person and don't think this is all that complicated or forward thinking. Most women prefer not to be called a female, using female as a noun because it can sound overly biological, like you're describing a specimen or an animal. Especially when making generalizations. Using female as an adjective, like female athlete is fine, but I'm sure there are some people who would still be annoyed by that. What you think? Yeah, we'd probably find a couple. It's neither here nor there, but I don't think there's a strong argument to be made in favor of using the plural noun females to describe how they all behave. Kind of just basic decency not to. Well, the only reason, the whole origin of this thing that we've keep making this stupid reference to is that somebody wrote in and was like, I'm a female listener. And somebody else wrote in that was a female woman was like, you shouldn't say female listener or whatever. We were just like, all right, you know, And I think, look, I'm going to help out some of the female listeners, the women that listen to the show. Men give each other shit all the time about everything. It never stops. And hopefully you have enough friends. But it's just what we do. We give each other a hard time, literally all the fucking time. So the problem is, is that I think whenever there's any thing where it's like, is this a male, female thing? It's like, no, it's probably just a guy giving a woman a hard time the way he would any of his friends. And then it gets turned into, oh, this is this male, female dynamic. And you're like, nope, it isn't. Now, there are things that could come across where you're like, are you only doing this because I'm a woman? Certainly that is the case. It's like, no one would ever sit here and be like, there actually isn't. Of course there is a tons. I mean, we see it all the time. And if you work in sports, you see an extra dose of it. That's just so ridiculous. But I think we'd all be a lot better off if there was a better understanding of, like, am I being messed with because this is just somebody's deal and they're messing with me, or am I being messed with for a specific gender issue? And more often than not, it has nothing to do with that. And so that was like, no.

Which is still the best term ever. Right? Or that guy, dude, whatever, anything. When, like. If you're referring to, like, the hey, that woman over there, it just sounds so, like, weirdly formal. That girl over there. Depending on the age, like, girl could be like, oh, she's. Is it too young, too old? Like, there's like, a weird balance there. And then female. I agree. Female is always just kind of harsh on the ears. I'll be honest with you, Ryan. I love you, but it's just. It's a little intense. But I think it's easier for. For guys to call each other things like that dude or this, whatever that, you know, where. With. With women, with girls, like, it's. It's a little bit more uncomfortable. And I don't know, like, that's.

Remember those guys were trying to set me up with their friend, and they sent pictures in, and they were like, you have to meet this girl. You have the same exact personality.

And then he has the thing about like the posting of the memes because the dirty play on the knee and the terminology that they use and all this dumb shit that happened in that series. And I was like, golden State. I want them to murder this team when they play them. And that's exactly what they happened. And when I saw the way they acted for that game, even though I liked them still way more than I do now, you know, because it's almost four years ago, I was like, this is to me a signal of a bunch of guys that are actually. And that's a really harsh to say about like pro athletes that are nasty. And I don't like to do that necessarily, but I couldn't help but sit when I was watching that game. I'm like, this is like what a bunch of losers would do. And that's how I felt. And yeah, so 2056. Lock it in now. I'll probably, probably reference that one. All right.

Like, why isn't there this other part of his life? And Kendall does not operate as a father or husband or, you know, I know he's an ex husband in this. If he is is doing the day to day that we see in so many television shows. It actually takes away from like all the great scenes. We don't get bogged down with the rounding out scenes that generally a lot of us like, hey, those are kind of my least favorite scenes. Would. And so there was a very weird stretch where you could tell I was still working halfway through the football season, which is sort of odd. But I was like, hey, you wanna make sure the shows are really good. And I don't want any of us to say anything that can be perceived as being disrespectful of a place that, you know, I worked a long time and liked a lot of people that I worked with. And so I just thought cutting out our Oregon goodbye was entirely pointless and kind of nasty, to be honest with you, because we really liked him. Well, not hired, but you get picked by the sororities to then be the chaperone of the girls that are rushing. Which I know sounds super creepy, but I mean, honestly, it's like, yeah, but they're 18 or 19 and I'm 20 or 21. Like, oh my God. And we go up, like, is it in a limo? And don't worry, you're in good hands.

So I was trying to figure out what the best number was to play an over for the Cavs in the second half, even if clearly that's what Vegas is expecting. The total for games to be won for the season, all right, is 52 and a half. So that would mean in the last 27, they got to go 19 and 8, and you're like, all right, that's beyond the pace that they're at right now. Can they get to 53 wins? Certainly, they can definitely get to 19 and 8. And then I was looking at another number where it was like, can you get to 55 wins? That's plus 230. So if you wanted to go, well, look, I only got to get two more wins, and if I just played it straight over 52 and a half, it's minus 140. 55 games is plus 230. You may just like the value of that play a little bit better. But again, I felt like this number already was adjusting to everybody going, hey, Harden's going to play. They're due for a bit of a run. They get back Mobley healthy, anything is possible for this team. The other thing that I think is important here is if you go through their strength of schedule, remaining strength of schedule, it ranks 26 out of 30 NBA teams. And this is going to be Armageddon levels of tanking. The NBA can find they can do whatever they want. The owners are not going to care about these fines if it means they have a chance at a franchise changing player. And then we'll figure out what we're

Atlantis probably just, you know, obviously they're going to. They're going to try to just be competitive with the moves that they've made this year. So I'm like, look, motivation factors alone here. But I couldn't find the right number. I'm just telling you, look for it. Look to see if you can get something where maybe it's them not making the playoffs and risk there's going to be a value play. But it feels like again, we all hate to say lock in this world, but it just doesn't make any sense, any possibility that they would play even just in the playing game. So that might be something to look for, but we couldn't find it. As of this morning, the last thing that I'm going to throw at you is of finals matchups and outcomes. And Ceruti helped me with this one. I was like, okay, look, Denver over New York. That's certainly a possibility, right? You're like, all right, well, what's the payout? It's plus 2,000. So you're looking at 20 to 1 odds on that if Denver beats the Knicks in the finals.

I'm trying to thread a needle. Yeah, I get it. But if you compare that to the value of OKC beating Cleveland, that's plus 800. OKC beating the Knicks in the finals. It's plus 850 OKC beating the Pistons. Plus 900 OKC beating the Celtics is plus 1100. And then the next best odds almost doubles in the payout, Denver to beat the Knicks. So I like risking a little bit of something there for that kind of payout in comparison to what those OKC results tell you. Again, you can check all of this stuff out on DraftKings.

So I want to talk first about Iceland. A couple summers ago, I drove the entire circle. I went out to the Fjords Actuary. I stayed there for a couple days and then. Is it Roy Huff or something? The furthest most town there in the Arctic Circle. It's, I officially wanted to be above the Arctic Circle.

to grow up, man. I really, really appreciated the people and the scenery and, and the calmness of it. Even the cities aren't really, Reykjavik's not even that big. So it must have been a great place to grow up.

Absolutely awesome, you know, and it has grown a lot over the, you know, last two, three decades, you know. So, yeah, growing up in Iceland was amazing. I had a very normal childhood, I'd say, and just, you know, running around in the nature, in the fields. And my grandfather was actually a farmer for over 30 years. So like in many of my summers I spent a lot of time there. So being at the farm just is very, very peaceful and lovely place. And that's probably one of the reasons why I've stayed in Iceland for all those years. I had many opportunities to move to the States elsewhere for better opportunities. But I said this is my place. You know, I, I love the peace, I love the people. And yeah, it's just something better that just keeps me there.

It was part of the elementary school where they were like, all right, you can just pay for a pass for the day. But everyone just like is. Is really peace, like at peace in a way where they're just like, they don't care about the other things. Which I imagine day to day it just felt very drama free, the people there.

Yeah, I guess that's one of the traits, you know, one of the things that I, you know, obviously been to the States many times and it can often be difficult, you know, going from place to place, you know, and I've had paparazzis coming up to me, taking photos and videos and fold me around.

Also from my height and size. But like that doesn't happen in Iceland, you know, it's a lot more like you said, people are just like, they just don't worry about other people. They just kind of like. If you're famous in Iceland, yes, kids come take photos, you know, say hi to. But it's not like a very dramatic event, you know, it's more. You're more left alone, I feel like,

And I've heard actually other famous people that have travel license say the same thing where they feel like, oh, like this is a nice place to be. Like I'm left kind of alone, which is a nice thing, you know, for someone that, you know, might get a lot of attention somewhere else.

Yeah, I think it should be like instead of Lake Como or something, maybe more actors should move to Iceland. You with your size, you were 6, 9, what, in high school. Yeah. And you wanted to play basketball and

I was playing basketball, yeah. I actually played with the national team in Iceland with my AIDS group at the time. We were quite, quite good actually. Under 18 year old boys. We actually won friends, which was very strong team back then. Very strong team. A lot of the boys back then, they were playing with friends at the time. They went to NBA and somehow Iceland, the small nation, won them.

No kidding. And you were obviously, you had to be the center.

Yeah, I was the center for sure.

Yeah. So during that time and you're playing some of these international games, like, are you thinking about the NBA?

Thor Bjornsson
Is that 100%? That was my. I've always been athlete my whole whole life. Like loved playing sports and that was definitely on my mind. You know, being. Becoming professional athlete and yeah, in the younger years that was basketball. Becoming like a professional basketball player.

Who was your favorite player back then?
- [61:35]
Thor Bjornsson
Yeah, probably like everyone, you know, probably Michael Jordan, you know, I loved him as a kid, you know, and obviously Kobe Bryant, you know, LeBron James, those, those guys, you know, then there are other guys also that you know, shock. Big fan of shock, you know, just his size and built, you know, just a massive guy, you know, many guys.

So you, I know you had been hurt, right? So like it, it wasn't going to work out, right? What kicked in for you that you were like, okay, well if this is going to be basketball or was it originally bodybuilding?

Thor Bjornsson
So, yeah, kinda. So I got injured while playing basketball. So I decided to take like a off season. I started lifting weights. I wanted to build some muscles. I was always a big fan of like I looked up to guys with good built, you know. So took a quick pause in the basketball journey and started lifting weights. And I saw a big dramatic change in my body and physique. I put on a lot of size and strength really fast and I guess just got addicted to it very fast. And I never looked back really. You know, I didn't really know where my journey was going, you know, I didn't really know, you know, what it was leading towards. It just kind of happened step by step. I started competing in powerlifting in my early, maybe when I was like 18, 19 years old. Then in my 20s, you know, 20, 21, I started competing in, in, in stronger competitions. And I remember very specifically I was training at the gym in Iceland with a man called Benedict Magnuson. He's very known in the strength world. He holds many world records and very strong guy.

He used to be in those old ESPN competitions. Right. Was, was he one of.

Thor Bjornsson
I think you're confusing two guys.

Yeah, I definitely am. When I saw Magnuson, I was like,

yeah, Magnus and Benedict, two different guys.

But anyway, so I, I was training at the gym with this guy called Bandit. Magnuson was very well known for his death power. He convinced me in competing at the show in Iceland called Vast for the Viking. So I called the man that you, you're describing right now, Magnus Magnuson, who's won the world title four times. I called him, I phone called the guy and introduced myself and said, I would like to compete at your show. Is there a spot left? And they were leaving the next day. And he tells me if there's a spot at the. We're all living with the bus, you know, if there's a spot at the bus, you can, you can tag along. Like, okay, I show up 6:30am in the.

Did he have any idea who you

were or your size?

Thor Bjornsson
He knew me, you know, I slid small. He knew who I was because he had heard about me at all already. Made some, like, small noise in the strength world, you know, I'd like, you know, I was a big guy, you know, but still not the size I am today. I was like 145kg, but still like big guy, you know. So he had heard about me and he said, yeah, he said, like, if you wanna. I was still very new into the sport. It was obviously going to be my first competition. So I show up. There's a spot, there's a spot there. So I go with him, compete. And in the second event, I break an Icelandic world record carrying a big, big rock that weighs 220kg. So after that, they just got hooked, addicted to the sport and.

Ryan Rosillo
Yeah. So did you perhaps not even know how strong you were in comparison? Like, you're probably imagining these guys are at this other level, and then you get out there and you go, oh, I guess I'm one of these guys.

Thor Bjornsson
Yeah, absolutely. I remember walking into the bus and I was like, holy, these guys are big. Where the am I am I doing here? But yeah, you know, I.

Ryan Rosillo
At 6, 9 over 300, you were like, these guys are big.

Thor Bjornsson
They were big. Yeah, they were big. But I guess I have this quality. I'm naturally very strong with certain movements. I can carry rocks very well. There are certain things that I'm just naturally good at, if that makes sense. Some people would have a hard time doing, but I don't know what it is, you know?

Yeah. So I've always wondered that, though. And I'm sorry to interrupt, but, like, there's a different than just some of the barbell lifts, the, the odd angles, the way to work your balance. And like, this isn't just heavy. It sucks to grab, it sucks to hold or carry. That's like a different level of strength than just this raw numbers. Right? Is that what you're saying?

Thor Bjornsson
Yeah. And, you know, genetics always play a big part of big factor, and I was just gifted in that field that I was naturally good at. Certain moments that involve strongmen, like carrying big rocks, throwing things, it became very natural to me. And a few of the events, I became very good very fast. The only thing that was lacking in the early days was, I'd say, static movement, static power, like, like, like, like spd, you know, Squat banner, stat lift. You know, those kind of moments where I have to, like, pull the most weight off the floor with some of the best in the world currently at. You know, that was one of the, one of my weak, weak points in the beginning, but deadlift was that it was. And now I hold the world records.

Yeah, I'm actually stoked. I remember hearing about Enhanced Games when the talk first came up a few years ago. And I remember, I think I saw it on Joe Rogan. They were talking about it and my first reaction was just like, I gotta go on that show. I gotta go to that show. Like, I wanna push the boundaries. I want to see how far I can take my body before I fully, fully retire. Yeah, here I am today. Enhanced Games.

If you'd said, I don't know, 20 years ago, hey, we're doing the Enhanced Games. Everybody freak out. And now it's like, hey, we're doing the Enhanced Games. And it's like, all right, what are we capable of here? The way the conversation has shifted towards, I would say, more acceptance in the field, 100%.

And what's, what's, what's cool about the Enhanced Games is they put the athletes first, they really care about them. And there are a lot of like, you know, they, before you are proved, they check your heart, they do blood work, do all kinds of health checks before. And they really take care of care of you in that way. Which is, which I respect a lot. And I feel like I'm in good hands. I feel safe. And I feel, you know, also I want to maximize my potentials, see how far I can take the body.

I don't think I really picked yet, you know, because last time I broke the world record, 510kg. It was light, it wasn't a real peak. I definitely had left more left in the tank. So, you know, so you're pulling it

Yeah, I feel there's more there. I pulled 510, and there's more there. 5, 525, 30, potentially. So. But saying that you got to be careful and still, you got to understand you still have to put in the work, because picking for one show is a one thing, and I picked really well for that show last year. Now I'm training for it again. But the body doesn't stay at the same strength level year out. It goes like this, goes up and down, and it's, like, in cycles. So you have to have these specific training phases. You have to know how to pick very well for these specific shows. And there are a lot of factors that could. Could play, a big factor in the fact that you might not peak well, you might get sick along the way, you might have bad days, you might be more stressful. There's a lot of things that could go wrong in this prep, but I feel very strong, I feel very good, and I'm very confident in my ability to break again. But that being said, I gotta be very motivated, driven, consistent in this prep to make sure that I break the record. There's a lot of things that could go wrong.

We had Daniel Cormier in here yesterday, I'm sure from the ufc, and we were talking about his journey, and then the mindset of getting into it and the guys you respect, but then the guys you don't like. I don't know, Mitch Hooper calling you out on the deadlift thing if you go like, I hate that guy, or, hey, this is good promotion, I imagine, in your world, because it's just a bunch of giants who are also, like, badasses that. That you. There's probably some. Some friction there that you can only really get over on the other guy in competition, because it's not like you guys are going to fight each other. So is there a hierarchy of, like, hey, that guy might not be the strongest, but he's the. I mean, how was the dynamic between all the athletes?

Definitely don't hate the guy. Let's put that out there. But, you know, he's a strong guy. He's definitely a strong guy, and he's proven again and again that he's capable of a lot of things. But to make one thing clear, since me coming back from retirement, I retired, came back, and then he was at the top. He's never won me in that event ever in his life.

Then nothing had, like I, I didn't do anything about back then. It was new. It was just like a, some, some discussions. I can't remember what it was but, but a friend of Min. So I reached out to my agent and I said, can you, can you reach out to the Enhanced Games and see if there's some kind of way where I could, you know, break my record there and, and do something with, with them. And that's how the conversation started. I literally just pitched the idea to my agent and here I am today, you know, I'm about to compete.

Well, I can't imagine that the Enhanced, like they must have been like, are you serious? One of the biggest stars in the strength world. Like, I don't know that. Why wouldn't they want it? Because I mean, here you are, there's more shows that are going to say, yeah, like let's do it, let's talk about this. That's a no brainer for them. As much as you want to do it as a competitor, you're a Great partner for it.

I think just being at the right time and just. I think as long as you. As long as you put in the work and you are consistent in your field, you're working hard in your life. There are a lot of opportunities that come along and I was able to take those opportunities. We all get opportunities. We all have decisions to make to take. Right turn or left turn? If you take the right turn, then that turn, that decision in life

That they needed to play the mountain in Game of Thrones, and.

And they didn't have to shoot it. Strange. He wasn't. You know, it was like, oh, he's 6:1, but he's jacked. You know, it's like we don't have to get creative with what we're doing. He's this big of a presence.

Many talented, great actors and having no acting experience was a big thing, for sure. I was nervous. Yeah. I remember walking up the stairs before I was fighting Pedro Pascal. The big fight scene, you know, I was fucking shitting my pants because it was a big fight scene in my brain. I was just like, I cannot fuck up. There are all these fucking actors watching. There are cameras everywhere. There are fucking big people here watching, and all the world is going to see this. I can't fucking fuck up. So, like, we had prepped the fight for weeks prior, and it was like, it was all in my head. But still, you can fuck up. You can make mistakes. I didn't want to make mistakes. I wanted to make sure I performed. I wanted to make sure that I had put in the work so the fight was as good as it could become. And thankfully, both me and Pedro Pascal, we both put in the work, and it was. Came together very well.
