Matt Farah
What up, everybody? Welcome to the Smoking Tire Podcast. Today's episode is brought to you by off the Record. Look, the holidays is not the best time to be driving spiritedly, right? There's drunks out there. Your uncle is probably one of them. So be safe this holiday season. But if you get in a pickle, if you're going a little too fast and get up in a jam because the officers want to raise some holiday revenue, off the Record is here for you. They will set you up with a qualified attorney in the jurisdiction where you you got that ticket, and they will fight it on your behalf. All you have to do is go to offtherecord.com TST input some crucial information about yourself and what happened, and they will go to work and then you won't hear from them for a while. And then you'll probably get a text that I love to get where it's just. Who is that? Oh, it's off the Record. Your ticket was completely dismissed. A lot of times that does happen. Sometimes it's not quite that awesome, but usually they have very good news. So offtherecord.com TST remember that if you get pulled over now and forever. All right? On this episode of the podcast, Zach and I are watching the end of my Acura NSX auction in real time on cars and bids. That's a good one. Plus, we talk about this incredible Ferrari 412 with an 812 engine in it built by an old friend of ours and Mercedes miniature G wagon. The wise. It's the Smoking Tire podcast. Let's go, huh, baby? Let's go. Look at Zach's haircut. That's where he was getting it eight, 11 minutes ago. Hi, everybody. Patrons, what's going on? I hope, I hope you're having a good day. I'm having, I'm having a pretty good morning myself. I got up early, started monitoring some comments on cars and bids. It's end of auction day. It's been an 1111 day auction, long auction. They did 11 days because of Christmas. They didn't want auctions ending on Christmas, so they gave me some days, a few other people, some days too. I think that was a wise move. I appreciate it. There's obviously been a lot of action. There's 234 comments. But dude, the strategies that I learned from WAB are paying off because this motherfucker's got page views. This thing's got big numbers on it, eyeballs on it. So I'm pretty confident we're gonna do well.
Zach
What were in concisely, what were his three tips for people who didn't listen to that show?
Matt Farah
An auction page is content and you have to treat it as such. And so I posted almost exclusively on this page for the last, like, week. Like, I didn't post much on Instagram. I didn't. I wasn't. Like, we didn't have a lot of videos or anything. Like, oh, shit, the board isn't done. Zach was rushing. Going live was more important than going live with good audio. You feel me?
Zach
Yeah, but we have people in the chat. Tell me how it sounds because one level says it looks good and one is bright red.
Matt Farah
Okay, so we got 14 minutes remaining. We got $155,000 and I can't talk. I don't want to talk about the reserve because people could be watching it and bidding right now, listening through iPad.
Zach
No, no, you're good.
Matt Farah
We're good.
Zach
Yeah.
Matt Farah
Okay. But I've written down, Zach and I talked about on the last show, the unspoken NSX target price prizes. So if the car gets to one of the benchmarks that's in this envelope, which we'll learn afterwards, then we're going to get to do something to spend a little bit of money. A little bit of money, right? Because, like, remember Countach, right?
Zach
Mercedes.
Matt Farah
Countach. Mercedes. Yeah. These are. There's, there's. But, but just saying if we do well, we can have some other fun too.
Zach
Now, do you want me to open this and just watch the thing and then cheer when it hits things?
Matt Farah
I don't know.
Zach
What do you think till the end?
Matt Farah
What do you think is. I don't want. Because, like, I don't want it to. I don't want it to, like, interfere with the bidding, you know what I mean? Because someone could be watching and bidding while we're doing this. So I kind of don't want to talk about milestones and, like, whether I've made profit, like, in real time. We can. I'm happy to talk about the math of all of this car very honestly afterwards. But, like, in the meantime, it's like, for the next 13 minutes, it's like, let's make some fucking money.
Zach
If I don't want to advertise, we.
Matt Farah
Need to earn the money before. But I will say this. The number on the screen which is 155 is the lowest number on the sheet.
Zach
So we've got a third place finish already.
Matt Farah
We've got. Oh, no, there's about 12 places on that. I did it like maybe like every like 5,000 bucks.
Zach
Oh, okay. I thought you went one, two, three.
Matt Farah
No, no, no. It go. There's opportunities to have some fun here. So I'm happy that, like, we're in a good place now, though, where it's not like if it were to sell at this at 155, like, that's fine, kind of even. We're having a happy day. We're having a happy day at that. Where it's like, that's ownership of a car is what we're talking about.
Zach
Okay.
Matt Farah
Oh, interesting update, I thought, because ta tst patron ta do ask questions once in a while. Our friend is who I bought this car off of and he told me in total good faith, as far as I know, that this had a comptech exhaust on it. Truth is, it's a science of speed exhaust, which is equal quality. I looked it up. It's like a $1,900 exhaust. And the car does come with a stock exhaust, too. Someone in the chat. Oh, can you scroll down to the comments so we could answer questions in real time?
Zach
So this car has two exhaust systems and that's very rare. That's a special feature.
Matt Farah
That's why it's an NA2. But. So if someone is into the chat or watching this stream, I can't type at the same time, so maybe. Oh, Zach. Are we logged into cars and bids? We're not. Okay, well, some people are on the stream. If you hear me answer a question, it's in the comments. Type that shit in the chat, please. But, yeah, in the chat someone said, oh, it's a science of speed exhaust. And some say that's actually better than a comptech exhaust. One guy says it sounds a little better than a comptech exhaust. And it's better to use this science of speed exhaust on the NA2s, whereas the Comtek, maybe it was better on the NA1s, whatever. But it's not the brand I thought it was. There's no markings on it. As it turns out, someone had to send me a link to the website and was like, oh, that looks like it. Wow. So I'm not even 100% certain, but that's what we think it is. So. Man, I want to see. Someone's got a. Someone's got a. I got a couple fans email me and say that they're in the game.
Zach
Yeah, you need someone to come in.
Matt Farah
One fan, drunk, emailed me at, like, this morning. No, no, like a couple days ago, like 2 o' clock in the morning and told me that they Told me their top number. Like, I'm in up to this and I know this person was drunk. Please bid that.
Zach
So we haven't seen that commitment yet.
Matt Farah
I have not seen that level of follow through yet. I. Maybe that person may have woken up.
Zach
That's so funny.
Matt Farah
Dude, this number was.
Zach
Bro, I love your comment, bro. I spent $300,000.
Matt Farah
This number was big. It would. Please bid that. Like, woke up in the morning, he.
Zach
Looked at that, he's like, oh no, let's fucking go. Patreon membership canceled.
Matt Farah
I'll tell you, if you bid that comp for life. Yeah, lifetime comp, dude.
Zach
What do we got?
Matt Farah
Coffee.
Zach
It's like, you see, I need to get some of that.
Matt Farah
In the interim, I've been.
Zach
Huh.
Matt Farah
Oh, Thaddeus is here in the background. He doesn't want to play today. He doesn't want to play today. He's in the corner chair. But he wants to fucking. You're a coffee boy today. That's fine.
Zach
Thank you.
Matt Farah
Oh, dude, this is, this is gonna be, this is gonna be nice. I think it's, it's. The person that buys this is going to be so, so, so, so excited. So excited.
Zach
It is a perfect example of an nsx. I mean like, this person commented, it's accurate. You did engine out maintenance after you bought the car.
Matt Farah
Well, I had to because the car had only done like 300 miles in the last like eight years and the last engine out was 2014. So that's nine years. And you're supposed to do it like every six or seven. So it needed doing. It wasn't like, you know, but like, I was like, I better. I'd like to drive this car and not think about this. So we did it. Evasive did it. They're great. And there were debates earlier in the chat that do you really need to be an engine out in period? Acura dealers could do it without taking the engine out. And there's like a couple of shops around the country that are like NSX specialists that can do it without taking the engine out. Evasive says that it's just easier to do it by taking the. Like you can just. If you're gonna look at a car and see what's what, like, you just see more.
Zach
I wonder if the hours are the same or similar too. I don't know.
Matt Farah
Thank you. Yeah, I don't know. I don't know. It wasn't cheap. It was like 6800 bucks.
Zach
Engine tangent. My wife Sarah showed me a video the other day of someone was Fixing an oil check valve on like a 2018 Mercedes. The 4 liter, twin turbo V8 subframe out engine out engine transmission apart. And it's like a tiny little valve inside. And she goes. And I'm. And I'm just. I'm looking at with huge eyes and she goes. I go, do you know how expensive this is to fix that little thing? And she goes, $2,000. And I started laughing so hard like, that's like 10 grand. Probably the whole car was apart.
Matt Farah
Yeah. Was it not under warranty?
Zach
I don't know. It was just at a. It was at an M. Tech center, like a Mercedes tech center.
Matt Farah
Well, okay. 160. Here we go. Six minutes left. Bids are in. Oh, and new comments to go to the top, folks, we gotta take a break from the action real quick for fitbod sponsoring us today. Dude, I work out a lot. I work out seven days a week. I think I'm a junkie at this point. But no matter your fitness level, the way to get to your goal is because you need variety and that variety needs to be sustainable. The way I do that is I spoil myself and I have a personal trainer come to my home. But that's not for everybody. But you can have your own personal trainer with fitbod. Fitbod customizes every workout and adapts to you as you improve to avoid boredom and plateaus on your journey. It is a virtual trainer. Right? The app makes working out easier because it's like having a personal trainer in your pocket. You just have to set some info about yourself based on your goals. Is it endurance? Is it losing fat? Is it targeting a muscle group? Is it better recovery? And then the app follows you along that journey and adjusts with customized workouts based on those goals to maintain your intensity and maintain your variety. Right? That's awesome. Right? And as I've done this over the last two and a half years, I've lost 55 pounds. I've lost four inches on my waist. I had to buy all new clothes twice. I'm on the verge of having to do it again, actually. And now I'm basically addicted to the gym, you know what I mean? And, like, it wasn't actually something I tried for, but now I can't see not doing it. And each time I've gotten to a next goal, it's because I've increased the variety and I wouldn't have done that without outside help. And I imagine even if you're working out pretty hard, I imagine you're probably not having as much Variety as you would with that outside help. So 2026 is right here. It's time to change it up, right? Level up your workout of the new year. Get that variety in, have a new challenge. Join Fitbod today to get your personalized workout plan 25% off your subscription. Or try the app for free at seven days by going to Fitbod Me Tire. That's F I T B O D Me TireFitbod Me Tire 25% off. Let's get in some shape. And if you wanna get rid of the old you, let's talk about DeleteMe. DeleteMe is here. They make it easy, quick and safe to remove your personal data online at a time when surveillance and data breaches are common enough to make everyone vulnerable. Every time you buy something, sign up for something on the Internet, your data ends up in the hands of people it probably shouldn't, I assure you. Best case scenario, those people are simply annoying. Worst case scenario, those people can find ways to target you for theft, essentially. And data brokers are the ones making a profit off your data. It's a commodity, anyone can buy it. So what happens is you sign up for website X to buy a new air mattress and that website sells your through a data broker and then people can just have your information. I don't know about you, but like, I don't like that very much. So when I signed up for delete me, what I did was I gave them my personal information. I know the irony. I also gave them the personal information of my family closest friends. Again. Oh, the irony. I totally understand. But that's how they know what to look for. Then they go to work, you don't hear from them for a little while and then they come back and they're like, hey, we found 1200 instances of your data in data broker websites. Would you like us to delete? And you're like, yes. Then there's some other ones where you have to click a few extra approvals. There's some where you have to type your signature, there's some where you have to draw your signature. It doesn't take that long, most are automatic. And then you don't hear from them again. But your scam calls and texts sort of reduce a bit and then they come back a month later and it's only 300 instances and you do it again. Then they go down and then it levels off at a very low point, maybe 100 new ones a month because you can't like, like stop it permanently. But delete me is an ongoing thing. It's not a one time thing. You join it joindeleteme.com tire promo code tire and you can get 20% off. But it's an ongoing service. Every month they're going to look for these items. They're going to send you reports. If you have updated information about yourself, you can update Delete Me and they're going to be constantly seeking and deleting your information from data broker websites. That's how it works. Take control of your data and keep your private life private by signing up for Delete now at a special discount for our listeners. 20% off your delete me plan. When you go to joindeleteme.com tire and use promo code tire at checkout. That's the only way to get 20% off. JoinDeleteMe.com Tire Enter code Tire at checkout. That's JoinDeleteMe.com Tire CodeTire and support is coming in from Quince With a new year, we're talking about colder days. I think this morning was the coldest day in LA that I've had in a very long time. This is the moment your winter, your wardrobe really has to deliver. So if you're craving a winter reset, start with pieces truly made to last season after season. Quince brings together premium materials, thoughtful design and enduring quality so you stay warm, look sharp and feel your best all season long. Quince has everything you need. Men's Mongolian cashmere sweaters, wool coats, leather and suede outerwear that hold up to daily wear while still looking great. The outerwear is particularly impressive, thinking down jackets, wool coats and Italian leather coats, keeping you warm when it's actually cold. Each piece is made from premium materials in trusted factories that meet rigorous standards for craftsmanship and ethical production. By cutting out middlemen and traditional markups, Quince delivers the same quality as luxury brands at a fraction of the price, resulting in classic styles that you'll love. Hold up to year after year. I am all about the Mongolian sweater they sent me. I got the button down one. It's in this sort of like gold color. It's pretty rad. I was wearing it around the house in the rainy days for all of Christmas. I actually am sort of being a weenie about it and don't want to wear it like out and about yet in places where it's going to stink like exhaust, like at work. So it's been a home sweater, but it is very, very soft and it was very affordable. It was under $100 for cashmere, which is awesome. So that's what I am absolutely wearing. Refresh your winter wardrobe with quince. Go to quince.com tire for free shipping on your order. 365 day returns. Now available in Canada too. That's Q-U-I-N-C-E.com tire free shipping at 365 day returns. Quince.com tire and now back to the show. I think this site auto reloads. Here we go.
Zach
Yes, it does.
Matt Farah
All right, we got a few folks in the game. Diamond motorworks has a 6.2k social hierarchy. Fucking score on cars and bids. That is an active participant in the game. And High bid is STRK at 160. And can I get a 161?
Zach
Can I get a 160?
Matt Farah
Can I.
Zach
Can I hear something now? We got something now.
Matt Farah
We got something now. 165. 165 now hearing 165. Now it's 165.
Zach
You've got three people battling the little ones.
Matt Farah
60. Let's go now. Herring. 165. 165. 65. We got a lot of eyeballs on this. I usually say to my clients when we're selling cars that if I can get a thousand watchers on your car, you'll get market price. Like then we do basically every time. We've had no duds. They can be stressful, but we've had no duds. With that strategy. We have like, does it show you 2500 watchers? That's nice.
Zach
That's the Colbert bump.
Matt Farah
But it's the Ferro bump. Yeah, well, I went on Spike's podcast with it.
Zach
I was like, that's worth at least 10 of those.
Matt Farah
I was a hoe. I was a hoe. I went all over with it. But like, you know, what are we doing here?
Zach
That's how sales works.
Matt Farah
YouTube was down this year. We gotta do what we gotta do. YouTube. I just calculated Zach here's profit sharing. And look, let me just say, podcasting, not so bad. This is a good gig. I like doing this a lot. YouTube. Oh, boy. It's not looking good, my friend.
Zach
I'm sorry to say I gotta return some gifts.
Matt Farah
It is not. It is not looking good. But it's an eight month membership to the Jelly of the Month club. Club. I saw Chevy Chase was on Segura's podcast. You see that?
Zach
Me too.
Matt Farah
Crazy.
Zach
I'm surprised.
Matt Farah
Crazy. Did you see a special?
Zach
I wonder if he'll be more interesting.
Matt Farah
See Segura's new special?
Zach
Not yet.
Matt Farah
It's good teacher on Netflix.
Zach
Okay, I'll check it out.
Matt Farah
The first 10 is him absolutely shitting on Vespas. Yeah, it's very funny. There's some good ones in there. And he's wearing quite the timepiece. There's some heavy watches in comedy specials now. This is the new thing. I saw Kumail's special. He's wearing a Nautilus. And Tommy boy is wearing the AP Star Wheel in his special, which is a fucking. Actually, that's. Remember the watch we were talking about yesterday, that urwerk with the three axis spinning thing? This is AP's version of that.
Zach
Oh. So it's probably.
Matt Farah
So it's even more expensive. Yeah. But. Oh, boy.
Zach
I'm gonna go with these, actually. Cheaper, is it? Yeah, it's half the price of the one you referred to, so Tommy should work harder.
Matt Farah
But you have to. You probably have to buy like 20 pieces to get to it.
Zach
You gotta buy a macan first.
Matt Farah
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Cause I went. Remember I went to the AP store and they were straight up, like, as a first timer, you would be allowed in this section. And it was like a whole. And it was a whole bunch of stuff I didn't really want.
Zach
We want you to practice with these watches and just get used to driving.
Matt Farah
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Zach
Before you.
Matt Farah
And I pointed out the watch that I really liked, which I can't even afford. I mean, these things are all insanely expensive. But I pointed out the ice blue dial Royal oak, which in my opinion is the most beautiful royal oak. And they said that I would need quite the spend history.
Zach
The spend history.
Matt Farah
Oh, yeah. If you even have ever been told the word spend history, you're in a. Yeah, that's the watch that tomorrow you're.
Zach
In a certain class of people in a very expensive hobby. If the term spend history, if you've.
Matt Farah
Ever been told that word. Yeah, yeah. Like we're using the word summer as a verb. It's in the same sentence.
Zach
Same. People hear those sentences. Yeah, yeah.
Matt Farah
But this is a really cool watch. So this. The AP Star wheel has these. It's like the teacups at Disney World. It's literally the teacups, but you tell time with the hour marker that is closest to the part where the minutes are. So in this view, it's 4:30.
Zach
That's really cool. I mean, it is. Watches are where engineering meets art, and I'm not super into them, but, like, for someone to just see, like, think of this idea.
Matt Farah
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Zach
After seeing how normal watches work and they want to Add a little more art to it is really cool.
Matt Farah
That's like for me, if you're gonna spend crazy, crazy, crazy money like this on a watch, like I want it to look like a fucking disco in there. I want it to look like Jacob. Little too far. But the teacups thing, the urwerk stuff, like unconventional machines. For time telling. I'm writing about MB and for road and track this year or this month. Excuse me, can we flip back? Is there any action we gotta be getting there? 165 habibi. We got. Can we. Can you zoom in command plus?
Zach
Yeah. What do you want zoomed in on?
Matt Farah
Just, I want to read the words better. Meep cars 51 with 165aminute and 30 to go.
Zach
So I haven't bought a car here. What are the little upvoting things?
Matt Farah
That's like karma score. Yeah, Karma score. Basically. Yeah. 165. 100.
Zach
Only one minute left.
Matt Farah
Yeah, but I. But this is where you're gonna get into the exciting bit, right? Because if people are watching, and I hope they are, people are gonna dive in and this, this might get down to 10 seconds or 30 seconds or this might be a total fucking dud. I mean honestly, I would just. On an energy flow level, if it stopped here, it would be kind of a. Dude, the Bentley was a little bit of a dud. That one.
Zach
It just ended. It just didn't go into overtime.
Matt Farah
Dude, if you're out there like, let's get some. Can we get some action? Like we want some drama, we want some excitement. Like this might get down to like five seconds. And another, another one comes in.
Zach
And then it adds three minutes or one minute.
Matt Farah
It adds two minutes. Two minutes, folks. One more break because Cash app is in the house. Look, there are all of these scams like through text messages and emails and all that going on. And when you are looking out for people, like maybe your parents, if they are actually like boomer age and clicking on text a lot, My mother in law fell for that. You have a package at the UPS store. 1. Oh boy. But Cash app has your back. They've got card security. Keeping your money safe from fraud with all the protections that you would expect. Because the hol are about finding the perfect gift. But not every deal is actually what it seems. Scammers are getting really creative to trick people into sharing their payment info through methods like fake shopping sites and giveaways that are too good to be true. Oh man. I was at breakfast the other day with our friend who is another automotive journalist who we love. He just told me he got hit with this. Someone in a Facebook group that he's in shared a link and said there was a great deal on alpinestars stuff. They were having a sale and he went and filled his cart and clicked buy put all his information. Well it turns out it was a fake alpinestar site. They had totally mirrored the site and yeah, fortunately he was able to get his money back but if he had Cash App it would be a no brainer. Their 247 fraud monitoring helps detect and alert you for unusual card activity should someone gain access to your card. So you can act fast if something seems off. You can also lock or unlock your Cash App card instantly right in the app. For extra control and peace of mind. You can stay one step ahead of scams this season and keep your money secured with Cash App. And for a limited time only, new Cash App customers can use the exclusive TST code to earn some additional cash. For real. Download Cash App Use our exclusive referral code Secure10. Send $5 to a friend within 14 days and you'll get $10 dropped into your account. Terms apply. That's money. That's Cash App. Cash App is a financial services platform, not a bank. Banking services provided by Cash App's bank partner. Prepaid debit cards issued by Sutton bank member FDIC promotions provided by Cash App a block and company brand. Visit Cash app LegalPodcast for full disclosure. And last but somehow most important, it's Smalls. Smalls as Smalls as cat food. And I am a cat person. I'm a cat obsessive. I care more about my cats than I do about cars. They're basically my children. My whole house is set up for them. I worry about them constantly. I basically have cat Stockholm syndrome and they provide the vast majority of entertainment in my life as well. And Monty, my young one, is a very, very picky eater. He has decided that if he doesn't get a new food every second or third feeding, that that is it. But Smalls. Smalls is the cat food that Monte is into. He has now gone four days straight on Smalls. It's a new record. That's like eight feedings in a row on one. Food is a new record for Smalls. That's amazing. This cat is the pickiest eater ever and I fall for it. He doesn't want to eat and then I give him another food. I waste so much cat food because he doesn't want it. But Smalls is so far the winner, right? It is. And you can start with smalls very easily. Smalls.com Tire Smalls Cat food is protein packed recipes made with preservative free ingredients you'd find in your own fridge. And it's delivered right to your door. Which is why cats.com names Smalls their best overall cat food. And starting is really easy. All you do is share information about your cat's diet, health and food preferences. And Smalls puts together a sampler for your cat so you don't have to pick between random brands. They have the sampler pack. You try it out, you know what Monty or your Monty wants to eat. And Smalls has the right food to satisfy any cat's craving. And man, he's in. My other three cats are also in as well, but they are much more flexible. They'll eat anything that's like medium delicious. And Smalls appears to be very delicious, which is good, but they will eat it. But I got the picky eater and that's what's what's up. So it makes my life less stressful and I waste less cat food. And it makes Monty's breath less stinky too. What are you waiting for? Give your cat the food they deserve. For a limited time. You are a smoking tire podcast listener. So you can get 60% off your first order plus free shipping when you head to smalls.com tire that's 60% off your first order plus free shipping when you head to smalls.com and now back to the show. 30 seconds. Oh, what a dud. If it just died. Now imagine we did a whole show and you ran over here. Your haircut isn't even finished. I know someone's got a bid just because Zach's haircut isn't even finished.
Zach
I mean, I'm glad I didn't show up earlier. Nothing was going on, right. If I had gotten here at 10.
Matt Farah
Oh, it can't just. It's just gonna end here. I hope not. That would be very disappointing, wouldn't it? I mean, it would just be a boring bit of content.
Zach
Seven, six, five, nothing or three, two, nothing?
Matt Farah
Wow, checking. Oh, come on.
Zach
Hey.
Matt Farah
Oh, yeah. 165 minutes.
Zach
Someone added one minute.
Matt Farah
It went up by $500. $500.
Zach
So now does that usually. Is that a good sign? Like now these two, these guys are going to play badminton together.
Matt Farah
You know, if you're spending 165, like, what's another 500, right?
Zach
Of course.
Matt Farah
And also bring a trailer ads.
Zach
Two minutes.
Matt Farah
Bring a trailer is two minutes. Cars and bids. Seems like it's One minute. So sorry about that. All right, well, now here we go. Buzzer beater cars at167.5 car free throws.
Zach
In 500 more dollars. And you think Meep Cars is going to take that? You think he's just going to lay back and take $500?
Matt Farah
Look, you want to win someone. And also, let's hope my fan comes in there, by the way. So sometimes you get a little drama. Some. Maybe someone comes in. Maybe someone wants to come in with an auction ender and really just hammer it. Just hammer it and make everybody go away with a huge big hit. Or we're gonna. This didn't. Okay. Oh, all right. So you can. I thought someone that went up by a $10 increment, which you. You can't do, but they went up. You can go up by like a random amount on cars and bins. Look, Carfreak, you added 67,510.
Zach
What was it gonna. Is that it?
Matt Farah
Checking.
Zach
It's gotta bounce.
Matt Farah
Is it done? Is it done at 167? 510. Sold for 167. 5 10. Congratulations to Meep Cars. 51 Meep Cars. I have to say, I thought. I thought more. I thought it would go more. The math says it should have market softening. Maybe. Maybe market softening. Bull. But having said that, you want to know how well I did in terms.
Zach
Of how much you made? So have you done all the math? Let's do all the math.
Matt Farah
All of it. I can do all of it. I can do all of it. Yeah. Yeah. Purchased for 134,000. Major service. 7,000 PPF. 7,000. That's 148,000. Okay. Then I had to put. Put another. Get another set of tires. The hre wheels and tires were gratis sponsored. I had to buy another set of tires, though, to put back on it to sell it. Okay. So that was another like 1500. All right. So that's basically 150 to insure it for the entire time I had, it was 3,000 bucks. So we can't. And then, you know, registration fees and blah, blah, blah. Not really because I'm a dealer. Sorry. Anyway, I'm into it for153. 154. So I can't really qualify the opportunity cost by not renting its space here to somebody else, which is.
Zach
What are the storage cost?
Matt Farah
The storage cost is zero. Detailing cost is zero. That's the price of being me. And I drove it 3,000 miles. Okay. Oh, I then did another service for 250. The second oil change was 250. So 153, 154 sold for 167. Oh, and including insurance, everything, everything is 153, 154. So I've done $13,000 profit, you know, over three years, which, like anybody who owns any car should be pretty happy about that.
Zach
Absolutely.
Matt Farah
Now, I got gassed up by the math. The math was like a few months ago, one with 7,000 less miles sold for 210 and one with 7,000 more miles did 156. So halfway between is like 185.
Zach
Right.
Matt Farah
So that's kind of where I thought that this math would end up. You know, I wasn't like counting on it, but that would have been nice. But all profit is okay, for sure. That's a good day. Unfortunately, it wasn't very exciting, was it?
Zach
Wasn't it very exciting?
Matt Farah
I thought we'd get a lot more content out of this.
Zach
But that's pretty rad because as you've said many times, you could have gone and bought a brand new insert fast car and for the most part lost money immediately. Over the first three years you depreciated. Unless you bought a 911ST at list or something. Something crazy.
Matt Farah
Yeah, I mean, it's a good car. It was a good bit in my collection. It was a nice thing to experience and like I said to Spike and other people, so why did I sell it? Because this car to me is about two years of fun. That's kind of it. If you're a Die Hard NSX fan, it's a fabulous car. This is a fabulous example. This is gonna be well bought, actually, for this guy. I assume it's a guy, sorry, whoever it is, this is going to be a well bought car at this price because down the road I think it could be worth more. And worst case, you've got a great car that you could fly in LA and just drive home to wherever home might be, if that's what you want to do. But I did think it would get a little more. I wasn't counting on it, but it was a good ownership experience. And for me, who gets to drive everything thing, it's about two years of fun. I mean, there's a lot I really didn't like about this car, to be honest with you. And now the auction's over, I can talk about it. The steering ratio absolutely sucks horrible balls. If you have a fucking Boxster as your other car, a new Boxster, Spider Boy is this steering garbage. I get that it was great for 91 or whatever.
Zach
It's like a bus, right?
Matt Farah
It's just the ratio is so bad. Especially if you're in either tight canyons or driving in the city, the ratio stinks. It doesn't sound all that good unless you're really on it. And the brakes. The problem with going fast in it is that the brakes are horrific. They work fine. The brakes are like. They're exactly. The fluid's good. The pads. There's plenty of pads in them. Like, they just suck. Like, they're just shit. And so. And there's extremely limited upgrades. And so you can do them, but they're fucking expensive, you know? And I didn't. Because you can't change the steering ratio. I was like, why am I gonna put money into this when I'm never gonna be able to fix the thing that really bothers me? But because the brakes were so, so bad, you can't push the engine. Like, I literally can't go to Angeles Crest and push the car because I'll melt the brakes. And, like, well, now what are we doing? You know? So that's kind of why I didn't want it to become a tuner car. And it could have.
Zach
You buy a big brake kit for $8,000. Yeah.
Matt Farah
And whose kit is it?
Zach
This is from Bulletproof Automotive, but it's mono 6 brakes. I don't know who makes it.
Matt Farah
Yeah, I mean, it's. That's expensive. I mean, big brakes are expensive. Like, no kidding.
Zach
And, oh, Brembo makes one that Evasive sells. It's four grand.
Matt Farah
That's the fronts. That keeps only the fronts.
Zach
It's the fronts.
Matt Farah
You think I didn't ask Evasive about this already? They said, look, we do one, but the problem is that nobody makes the rears anymore, so we just do the fronts. And I was like, well, what?
Zach
It's like a go kart.
Matt Farah
And so, anyway, look. And so for someone who loves the car for what it is, that's fine. For someone who wants to keep it for the rest of their life, you could upgrade the brakes. You know, that's what I would do. But the Manx is more fun in the city, by a lot. Because this thing is, like, when you're not going fast, this car's, like, pretty normal. I mean, it looks great. The viewing position is great. Like, people love it. Thumbs up everywhere. Like, Tyler, the creator fucking rolled up next to me and was like, love that. And then fucked off in his LaFerrari. It was extremely Badass. But yeah, driving experience for me. Two years of fun.
Zach
Yeah.
Matt Farah
And there's some real limitations that like, you know, what am I? What am I? I can't rip Angela's crest in this because I'll melt the brakes. Like that's stupid. You know. You know, it was really fun to have the 328, this and the spider at the same time briefly. Because you could just draw the line. That was cool.
Zach
I feel like this is a car that's. I mean I've said before like it's well suited for driving 2,000 miles straight because it's just so comfortable. But if you live in a place where here in Los Angeles we have this contrast of gridlock and then canyon driving.
Matt Farah
Yeah.
Zach
But if you live somewhere like Connecticut or in the south where you have these flowing roads that connect towns. I think it's perfect for that kind of environment.
Matt Farah
It is a great 6, 7, 10.
Zach
If you're constantly moving. 6, 7, 10. Because the seating position is amazing. The shifting action is some of the best I've ever experienced. Seating position really depends on your height and ratio of your inseam and torso. Because it's kind of weird in some ways. If you fit.
Matt Farah
The visibility is awesome.
Zach
The visibility is fantastic. Like most mid engine cars. It's a really cool thing thing. And it just. It feels like it just moves through the world effortlessly.
Matt Farah
Well. And it's really smart packaging. I mean you can. It has a huge trunk and you can also take the top off and it sits over the engine. So it doesn't even. Like a Corvette. You don't have to choose between top down. Like you could go on a huge long road trip with the trunk jam packed of shit and top off, top down, top off, top up, top top. It doesn't make any difference. That is so great about it. It's really fuel eff and refined. Thaddeus and I drove it to Vegas for Nino's bachelor party and it was like great. I mean it was great for that kind of thing.
Zach
Yeah.
Matt Farah
But most road trips I'm doing press cars and my around town is Manx and my canyons really should be Spider. And also like as like I think this. I think the car probably should have gone for more. Again, I'm not, I'm not that disappointed.
Zach
Someone asked were the comparisons you were talking about same color as your.
Matt Farah
One was. The one that went for less was. The one that went for more was a blue.
Zach
So the one that went for less had more miles than yours was the same color. Yes, okay.
Matt Farah
Yeah. And it went, did 156 with 27,000 miles.
Zach
Got it. Okay.
Matt Farah
Yeah, but so, I mean, again, happy. But miles are expensive on this car. Not to run, not maintenance, but to go from. Let me just say that if I had bought the car, did the service and parked it, I'd probably have made more money. And that's sad, but it's probably true.
Zach
Why?
Matt Farah
Because the difference between 17 and 20 is something.
Zach
But in a fucking Honda. That is so sad.
Matt Farah
It's only in like the collector grade Honda. If you buy a 47,000 mile one and take it to 54,000 miles, the Delta is probably much smaller. If you take it by a 90, 80,000 mile one and take it to 97, it's probably even less. But if you go, if you cross from the teens to the 20s or the 20s to the 30s, you're going to have a big drop.
Zach
I think I'm just realizing that like, for a lot of collector cars, the graph of like miles importance would be like a U, you know, super low. It's very important. As the miles go up, it becomes less important.
Matt Farah
Yeah.
Zach
And then as you get near 100, it becomes important again because there's like.
Matt Farah
Because there's services coming up.
Zach
Yeah.
Matt Farah
Excuse me. But you know, it was a good two years. I learned a lot and took care of the car and now someone else gets to do that. So you want to see where we fell on my prize picks? Oh, you have the envelope. That's your prize picks.
Zach
This one's more reliable than prize picks.
Matt Farah
We didn't get very far up the prize picks. I dreamed big. My prize picks went up to 200k, so I dreamed big, but I didn' think we'd get there. But.
Zach
All right. Want me to read from the bottom? I guess read from the.
Matt Farah
Do you want to read from the lowest amount? Yeah. How about you want to start from the top?
Zach
Okay, this is funny. All right, so this is seriously just going to say this for the social clip, this is what you would have done with the money if the NSX had gone for X number of dollars.
Matt Farah
Yeah, sorry. Say it again. For the social clip without me calling.
Zach
If you had sold. We're going to read the list of things you would have done with the money if you had sold your NSX for X number of dollars. This is a list you made. If you'd sold it for $200,000, you would have spent a week at the Yellowstone Club.
Matt Farah
Yes.
Zach
Now would that be renting a house from somebody or getting the house for Free and then just paying for, like, a candy bar, whatever I could beg.
Matt Farah
For while still pretending to pay for things, basically. It would somehow still be expensive even with most things being free. All right.
Zach
If you sold it for $195, the Mercedes project car in the Countach rebuild would have been free. Yes, that would have been a good one. To hit 190, you would have gone to Hawaii for the weekend with Hannah. 185, you'd upgrade the Vespa. So you'd have bought the new Vespa, the 310. You have the 300. 180. You would have done a night trip to Los Alamos. What is there?
Matt Farah
You were included with that, by the way. That was gonna be for the four of us. That's the town I love in Central coast that has absolutely nothing except, like, three Michelin restaurants. Oh, wow.
Zach
Yeah, that would've been cool.
Matt Farah
Too bad, too bad, too bad, too bad. We're not going.
Zach
I like this 175k. It just says see above, but with Brunello 2013. So 175. 170. You said dinner at Felix. 175. You would have gotten one bottle of wine to dinner.
Matt Farah
I didn't say one bottle of wine. That would have just been on. On the menu. It would have been. It would have been dinner with good wine. To dinner with the. The. The wine.
Zach
Right?
Matt Farah
Yeah. Wow. Yeah. But again, too fucking bad.
Zach
Yeah. 165,000.
Matt Farah
That's. This is where we are.
Zach
Dinner at Charcoal. Amazing restaurant.
Matt Farah
Yeah.
Zach
Minus really, really delicious. And if you. If you'd sold it for 160, you would have had lunch at Playa Provision. With a $18 breakfast sandwich. That place is delicious. But I like. This is really funny. 155. $155,000 is the reserve. So if you had CR over net zero. Yeah, net zero. So if you make five grand, you're willing to spend about $42 at lunch at Playa Provisions, and then you put the rest in the bank, which is smart. And that, people, is what you should do with money.
Matt Farah
That is roughly the ratio at which I try to, like, spend and save.
Zach
Like a 98 to 2%.
Matt Farah
It's like. It's like. It's like 95 to 95 to 5 is the ratio at which I try to spend and save. I don't always do perfect, much like.
Zach
The graph I described earlier. Earlier, it seems like that ratio adjusts as we go up the profit line. Because I think at 195,000 you are then spending all the money because it's like.
Matt Farah
Because that's an absurd. If I hit that number, it would have been cause for celebration.
Zach
Sure.
Matt Farah
At this number, it's cause for dinner or lunch. Lunch. Celebrations are so funny.
Zach
For people who are not in la, that's like going to Chipotle and getting the coolest guac. You know that. That's what we're looking at.
Matt Farah
It's. Yeah. I mean, it's. Yeah, that's a pretty. It's a tasty but basic lunch.
Zach
Yeah.
Matt Farah
Yeah. So anyway, we'll be going to Charcoal and we'll get some steaks.
Zach
That's funny.
Matt Farah
That'll be fun. That'll be fun too.
Zach
That is. It's a really good restaurant.
Matt Farah
Oh, man.
Zach
167.
Matt Farah
Yeah. Just, you know, would have been nice to have 10 or 15 more minutes of content out of that. You know, a little.
Zach
Little more back and forth.
Matt Farah
Do we. You think. Do you think we make it worse by doing this? Do you think by doing a live stream we somehow make it worse?
Zach
I doubt it has an effect.
Matt Farah
You think? You don't think?
Zach
I don't think it does.
Matt Farah
Okay.
Zach
I think if you describe the steering before the auction ended, it might have an effect. But hopefully people know what they're getting into with this and they're just. I'm sure they're just excited about it because, you know, it's an nsx. Everyone likes them.
Matt Farah
Yeah. So, you know, I think that's all around, right? We can call it that. A win for your boy. Wow.
Zach
Oh, do you see this?
Matt Farah
Yeah. This guy is this user. I'm not gonna call him out by name, but you can go find him in the comments. This guy made a very big deal about the fact I said I had the window sticker and all the service records going back to new. And he's like, well, are you going to post those very important documents? And I was like, yeah. And he was very surprised at the cadence of flow. The trickle. The trickle. Very surpr. Very happy when I posted the window sticker and went on a fucking screed about a whole lot of things that really had nothing to do with this car. But yeah, that person's now back and talking about the cars that I was talking about. Two comparisons. One was the 27,000 mile car and did 156. And then number 53 had 7,000 miles, same car. Car and did 255 last spring.
Zach
So spring of 24 or just this mileage.
Matt Farah
This would have been spring of 25.
Zach
So I wonder, do you think that is an indicator of the market softening? Because yours has 10,000 more miles on it.
Matt Farah
But it's single four digit mileage. Four digit mileage is one of those big steps. That's a huge step. Yeah.
Zach
Single digit.
Matt Farah
There's not a lot of think about how many 05s are left that have single digit mileage. Excuse me, I keep saying single digit. I mean single digit thousands. There's probably very few of those. Maybe there's five of the 248. Maybe five of them are wrapped in plastic with Delivery miles. Right. 10, 20 more have been totaled. A bunch have a lot of miles. Cause people just bought these to drive, you know, And a smaller number, you know, a lot, a decent number have sub 40,000 miles because they were just kept nice and they were bought by collector type people because they knew it was the last year and whatever, they were always kept nice. But so there's a decent number of them in this sort of range. But to get to sub 10,000 mile cars, that's where you're getting over 200.
Zach
Okay.
Matt Farah
Yeah.
Zach
Wow. Big difference.
Matt Farah
Yeah. Unless it's a rare color. Because the one that got 210 and had 13,000 miles was blue. And everybody loves the blue.
Zach
Yeah, it's like a blue R34.
Matt Farah
Yeah. Silver's a great inoffensive color. And most people would be like, yeah, that works. But it's not. The blue and the orange are really the to have color.
Zach
You know how you get more money is you call it paint to sample silver.
Matt Farah
That's how I saw, you know how Porsche likes to do things that get collectors go crazy over and then like shit on them the next year, like with the 911R and then the GT3 touring.
Zach
Oh, and then they make.
Matt Farah
Yeah, they make the flippy thing much more accessible.
Zach
Yes.
Matt Farah
And they sort of undercut the flippy thing. They like to do this. Right. I saw a story this morning that Porsche is contemplating a sort of digitized by vjooqic paint color that you could take a picture of something and then upload the photo to your Porsche app and your car will change to that color. Obviously this is a long way away. It's conceptualized and they filed a patent for it. But like, how funny would it be if they eliminated, if it was paid to sample anything that would either be the ultimate paint to sample or if they released it widely and made it like a common thing, it would like kill paint to sample because like anybody could just have it.
Zach
This feels like automotive nft because they would have to gatekeep, you know, the special silvers and the other like the really expensive paint to sample colors that way. Yeah, you can't just go take a picture and upload. They go, I'm sorry, you didn't pay $15,000 for that digital file. If you want to unlock, you know, Mystichrome Porsche color, you're gonna have to pay.
Matt Farah
Yeah, yeah. So, all right.
Zach
That tech seems. And you know, that would be cool and I'm sure one day it will happen like decades in the future. But it seems like every couple years a company rolls out the thing of like the whole. All the body panels are LED screens, BMW and you can show it can show the thing behind it and camouflage it. And I think early days it was just like huge flat screens bolted to a car. So the profile of the car looked like a bill. Yeah. And now they're kind of.
Matt Farah
Well, they have OLEDs that they can turn around and stuff. But like I don't think anybody really wants to sell a car that does that. I mean, imagine what a small crash would cost if your whole fucking body was an oled.
Zach
Well, it's like the whole body is made of like Samsung open. What was it called? Like the phones, the foldy phones. Like if the whole thing is a digital screen like that, it would weigh a lot probably. Yeah.
Matt Farah
Wouldn't it be funny if it actually somehow would weigh less? I don't think it would. You'd probably need. Well, no, I mean I have absolutely no idea how much energy it would require to power a car sized screen. But. But yeah. Is there questions? Yeah.
Zach
Yes.
Matt Farah
All right, let's do that. Because this was really all I was prepared for today and I also hope thought that the fucking thing would go a lot longer. I mean still a d, you know, 21 bids is like not terrible, but.
Zach
All right. I have not, you know, organized these yet, so.
Matt Farah
Sure. Let's talk to some patrons over@patreon.com tire podcast. It's where you get the live stream. It's where you get the show before everybody else. It's where you get extra show. It's where you get ad free show. It's where you get access to exclusive collabs and things like the new upcoming. This one's not quite accurate, but the pink notice can frozen. I forget what we're gonna call it in a way that doesn't infringe on Porsche's trademark, but it's the one that looks like my car. Yellowledfooter says Doug says that the reserve stops the momentum of an auction. Do you think that this occurred here? No. I mean, no. What Doug meant was like, like if you lift the reserve early, it stops the momentum of an auction and then you go, reserve is off. But from a bidder's perspective, I don't know if they are just, I mean, either. And I haven't bid on a car, on cars and bids. So I don't know how it looks if you're just a bidder and not the seller. Right. I only know what it looks like as a seller to use that platform. So as a bidder, I don't know if it alerts you that the reserve is off. I don't know if the thing just changes or what, but I didn't do anything. The reserve was 155. And I didn't tell anybody the reserve was 155. And obviously the bidding started the day at 155. That didn't kill the bidding. The bidding continued on from there. Maybe it didn't go quite as high as I thought, but it didn't stall. Certainly it makes sense to me that.
Zach
If you're bidding on a car and then you see reserve is off, I think for me as a buyer, it would tell me that this person doesn't think it's going to go very high. They think the momentum is slowing and that's probably going to cool everybody off. You go, oh, so this seller wants as much as they can get right now. They're worried it's not going to go above that magic mark they'd set. And so I would cool my bids off because I don't want to overpay for something they're willing to let go. If they set the reserve at one point and the bidding's at 115 and they go, reserve is off. I go, oh, so this person's just trying to get anything they can because they're worried it's just going to fail.
Matt Farah
Yeah, I think so too. And I don't talk about when the reserve is off. And I don't think bring a trailer alerts anybody that the reserve is off. It just, it either meets or doesn't meet reserve. If you list a car with no reserve, then it goes in the head headline, whereas it doesn't if you take the reserve off early or anything like that, I've learned to like, if I'm going to have a reserve, don't take it off early. Just let it be. And whatever. VTech just kicked in. Bruh. VT. I've previously mentioned that the NC1 NSX is a good value. That's the 2017 car. Now that I've had a NSX experience, do you think everything you disliked about yours is solved with the NC one? And do you see yourself owning one in the future? Two things to look at. One is objectively sure, I didn't like the steering in mine and 12 years later, the current one has sharp steering. I didn't like the brakes in mine and the current one has good brakes. So like, like, objectively, sure, they solved it, but those are just not the same car.
Zach
Yeah, they're totally different.
Matt Farah
I mean, unless you're like, we have a client here at wccs. Shout out to him if he's listening, that has an old NSX and a current NSX that is an NSX enthusiast. He likes both the cars and he likes the brand and he likes having both. And God bless him, I don't see those as being the same product. Like, if you like them both, good for you. But like, just because you like one, it's not. They're not the same thing.
Zach
Pretty flavor vehicle.
Matt Farah
If I wanted. What the. If I wanted a quote, fixed version of the nsx, I'd buy an Amira right fucking now. Like, seriously, that's like, that's that. But the straight line, like it kind of like diverges a little bit from NSX to Boxster and to Amira.
Zach
Yeah, that's a good point. That's a good point. Real quick. A person patron said on cars and bids, the bidders never know what the reserve is or if it changes. The only way the bidders know is if the seller reveals it in the comments.
Matt Farah
I didn't talk about the reserve. I will say that the one time I did talk about it in our 60 or 70 auction history, I think it was not to my benefit and I never did it again. Fully loaded diaper says Thoughts regarding the timing of the auction. I mean, yes, I mean Monday after a holiday week is a challenging time. However, in la, everybody's still in the middle of a holiday week. Fucking nobody's working this week. Both Christmas and New Year's being on Thursdays for. I mean, granted, I'm working and my guys here at the shop are working, but I think the city is empty.
Zach
The creative industries really slow down. I remember when I was working for Tangent and we work with marketing teams and campaigns and stuff, people stop responding and committing. Like December 10, it gets really quiet.
Matt Farah
And wealthy businessy people aren't doing shit either. And even fucking, even Blue collar, businessy. People are on vacation right now. So I don't think it was the Monday that it was Monday. I mean, maybe it's a holiday and people are, like, literally on a fucking yacht somewhere and out of communications, but I don't think this is. I think today's more holiday week than regular Monday. I told them, I said, I don't want it to end on Christmas or New Year's, but I do want it to sell before the end of the year. So this was what we did, and that's okay. Panamera Bread did initial D have any influence on you and your interest in cars?
Zach
Not me. I never watched it.
Matt Farah
I didn't see it before.
Zach
I never heard about it until I was, like, an adult.
Matt Farah
Yeah, me either. I didn't see it until later. Most of my interest in cars came from magazines. Forcing my parents to take me to dealerships and stuff as a kid and then talking the dealership owners into letting me sit in stuff.
Zach
Yeah.
Matt Farah
Matt's mystichrome goes 185 says I fixed. Wait, I don't. Sorry, I don't. I don't know what that is. Oh, great. Someone doxxed my address in the cars and bids comments. Oh, good. They said they live on my street and have seen the NSX around. Oh, that's nice. I'm glad there's someone who lives on my street that, like, hates me. That's cool.
Zach
Or they were just like, you know, trying to be cool and going, oh, I live right over here and I've seen it a lot. It's a really nice car. Like, they're trying to be helpful and they don't. They don't know.
Matt Farah
Yeah, that would be a real, like, loser move if they did that.
Zach
We can. We can search the comments.
Matt Farah
There was someone who drove by my house and posted a picture of the.
Zach
The.
Matt Farah
Of a car that I. That we were driving in my driveway and were kind enough to not say where it was. And people were like, oh, that's. That's Matt Farah's house, because they recognize it from my Instagram photos but did not say where it was.
Zach
Well, I did see a comment when we first got on here today. I saw a comment saying, hey, cars and Bids should delete that. You know, that's doxing.
Matt Farah
Yeah.
Zach
So maybe they noticed. Oh, all right, we can search the comments. All right.
Matt Farah
I'll find it later if we have to, but thanks for letting me know. That's a fucking douche move to do that. Stupid. Tim A says, do you Question. Mercedes decision to make a mini G Wagon? No, of course not. Mercedes has been doing that. Mercedes made a little cla class. Mercedes, they always make the glb. They already make little versions of the big cars. This is directly in brand with what Mercedes has done for the last like five years. Come out with a big car and then come out with a littler version of that car and then an even littler version of that car.
Zach
The G Wagon's not that big, I think when you. Especially when you get in it. But it has a wide stance. It seems like a car with large presence. But when you actually drive the thing, it's not very big.
Matt Farah
No, there's not a lot of front seat room and there's not a lot of rear seat room.
Zach
There's not a lot of trunk space. Yeah, I don't know if it's just the track has gotten wider around the body. So this is thing. It's gonna be like a jimny.
Matt Farah
You know what size Jimny sized. Like, you can't. It's like a G Wagon isn't Even really a 5 passenger. No, like it's like a. It's almost like a two plus two in some ways.
Zach
If you are taller than five, seven, you know, in the backseat, it's not great.
Matt Farah
I mean, unless it's got. I kind of like how it looks like. I think it looks pretty neat. It looks kind of like a jimny.
Zach
Like they'll probably sell a ton of them. Yeah, they will sell a gazillion of these things because it's a less expensive G Wagon, but perfect. What's it gonna be?
Matt Farah
This is. Might start at 5 grand to 85 grand. God, that's a lot of money for a tiny thing. But like I drove the CLA 35 and that was like 55 grand. So I guess I get it. I mean, but this is exactly what Mercedes does and they've been doing it BMW i8D's nuts. How do we record exhaust audio? We do it the cheap way. The cheap way is to buy a foamy sound cover for your action camera. And almost every action camera, somebody will make a foamy sound cover for that. The even cheaper way is to put gaffer tape over the sound holes on your camera and then get a sock and make one yourself and cut a hole in it. You do not need to spend real money to do this.
Zach
People used to glue, like, I mean, you buy the pieces of foam and you could glue it over the mic hole on a GoPro with Super Glue. That was one way People used to do it. I mean, I don't know fad you worked in I then like not ghetto production.
Matt Farah
But no, we do. Remember we did the. We did a Shure SM58 back in the day on a suction cup with an XLR cable to this audio recorder which would also have my audio going into it. So I'd have matched audio from.
Zach
That was probably some of the best audio we ever got.
Matt Farah
Probably. But that was an expensive microphone.
Zach
Well, then we moved to LAVs taped to license plates. And you kind of aim it at the thing because basically what you're trying to do is eliminate wind noise while still capturing the exhaust audio. And it's challenging. As speeds go up, the wind kind of takes over.
Matt Farah
Yeah, it's tough. I like the mic being a foot from the exhaust tip and then a foot offset to the side. Side. Either side. You don't want it right behind the exhaust, but you want it, like Zach said, blocked by the wind a bit. And then like the more like foam you can put on there is good and beyond like 80 miles an hour. It doesn't actually work anymore no matter what you do.
Zach
Yeah, yeah.
Matt Farah
Seven days of the week, seven different Chevys. I like that. Thoughts on the Ferrari 412 super fast that Larry Chen made a video. Did you see this car?
Zach
I just saw it.
Matt Farah
It's gold. You know who built it?
Zach
No.
Matt Farah
Steve Maxwell.
Zach
Oh, wow.
Matt Farah
This is a. This and his son, I believe, Steven, I think his son are involved on this together. It's called Otsuka Maxwell design, which pretty much sounds like the young one is in charge of the branding and the old one is in charge of making a Ferrari 812 engine.
Zach
Steve made the twin turbo 348 we filmed which worked great.
Matt Farah
Yeah.
Zach
He also made.
Matt Farah
He made the DeLorean.
Zach
We filmed the swap DeLorean engine.
Matt Farah
It was amazing. Amazing. Yeah.
Zach
He knows how to fab.
Matt Farah
So this is a Steve Maxwell joint, as one might call it. And this is a Ferrari 400 with a full 812 super fast engine and a six speed manual gearbox. And then the interior. The interior. You know what the interior reminds me of? Like, it kind of reminds me of like a little bit ring brothers.
Zach
Y. Yeah. So does the exterior. Honestly, they both.
Matt Farah
They both look a little ring brothers. Y. Speaking of which, speaking of sidebar. Ring brothers, did you hear about this thing with Aston? Yeah, they've like cease and desisted ring brothers.
Zach
Yeah. Which I think is really frustrating and unfair.
Matt Farah
Well, it's silly. Yeah, it's very silly.
Zach
They design the Car themselves. Like ring brothers did.
Matt Farah
Yeah, but like, it's one. It's one custom car. It's not. Not like. As far as I know, it's not like a run of cars. It's like they built a car for a guy.
Zach
Yeah.
Matt Farah
Like, that's what everybody does.
Zach
I'll find a picture of that car. We'll talk about that.
Matt Farah
That's crazy. But back to that. So click on the full interior.
Zach
It does not. There's not clickable. Oh, autoblocks.
Matt Farah
Stinks.
Zach
Yeah.
Matt Farah
That's so lame. But it has, you know, it's got a few different jdmish vibes. It's got a few different sort of throwback to various eras of different Ferraris. But it is an 812 superfast engine in a fucking, you know, in a 400, which is pretty nuts. I mean, objectively nuts. Yeah. So, you know, there's a tablet on there to control stuff, but.
Zach
Oh, these gauge screen.
Matt Farah
Yeah, that's.
Zach
That's a tough.
Matt Farah
I mean, I don't know how you.
Zach
That's huge for people listening.
Matt Farah
It's got like a whole lot. IPad.
Zach
Yeah, but I mean, a big one. Like whatever. An iPad. If there's an iPad. Max. I'm not up on the iPads. But like, this gauge cluster is massive.
Matt Farah
Yeah, it's big. And then the one in the center is big, too.
Zach
Oh, you know why? Because the. Probably because the A12 computer is meant to transmit, you know, to.
Matt Farah
They don't have any gauges. That car's got no gauges. So you. I don't think it has some kind of manual output. You may not have a choice.
Zach
Right.
Matt Farah
It's probably a wild thing to get this car to run with a manual gearbox, by the way, but it uses like a 348 steering wheel, which I do think works. Look at the door handle of the inner. The armrest. That is like a. That's like a flame cut koa or walnut or something.
Zach
I think the guard looks awesome.
Matt Farah
The door car looks great.
Zach
The center console looks clean. You got the clean gated shifter. These like, you know, aluminum knurled knobs. It's pretty simple.
Matt Farah
The round air vents look nice. Nice. I just. I don't think there's much way around using a tablet screen for that with this car.
Zach
Yeah, I think you're right. People look in the exterior, and then.
Matt Farah
On the exterior it's got this big flip tail on the trunk, which I don't personally love, but I don't hate either. I think it's too Flipped up. And then it's got, you know, some bigger five spoke wheels that look Ferrari. You know, modern. Ish interpretations of the old. Note. No, I think, is it Campagnolo or chromodora? Which is embarrassing because I had the 328. I want to say it's Campagnolo. Campagnolo. Wide fender flares, but not too wide.
Zach
The flares are great.
Matt Farah
And then of course, color choice is cool. Jewish racing. Gold adjacent on top, black on bottom.
Zach
Which I think was period correct for that car.
Matt Farah
Yeah, they did a lot of two tone. I think this car. I mean, I know when you're trying to show off, you don't probably want to do that color. But this car in all black would be amazing. All black, no flip tail. This car would be my fucking murderous rampage jam. But the engine integration looks great.
Zach
And the engine is behind the front axle. Barely. That's impressive.
Matt Farah
That is wild. And you could tell by looking at it that it's not an original engine. But one of the things that Steve does really well is he makes engine swaps look like they should have been there.
Zach
Yes.
Matt Farah
That turbo kit on that 348, if you'd have. It looked like Ferrari would have done it. The milling and all this stuff. That was perfect. The crinkle was perfect. And like this airbox pretty much looks like Ferrari would have done it. I mean, they probably would have used that like laundry ducting instead of this at the time.
Zach
They definitely would have. Yeah. And they wouldn't have used carbon for the intake cover. But it looks.
Matt Farah
But it would have been that shape.
Zach
Yeah.
Matt Farah
You know, that's the good point.
Zach
The shape is well matched with the design of the car.
Matt Farah
Yeah.
Zach
Yeah.
Matt Farah
It looks like it. It looks like it would have looked. I mean, if you look at what the engine of a 400i looks like, I mean, it. It broadly looks just like that.
Zach
Yeah.
Matt Farah
Which is a thing that this guy does really well.
Zach
Yeah.
Matt Farah
Seems like a nasty. I mean, that's. That's 700 horsepower.
Zach
Yeah. That's really aggressive. Oh, here you can see the body went the way they cut the. The fenders. And then they made these little vents down here for heat extraction. Oh, here's another one.
Matt Farah
Yeah.
Zach
So part of the process. That's cool, man.
Matt Farah
I like the original color too. That like teal.
Zach
That's a good color.
Matt Farah
I like that teal a lot. That's good.
Zach
What a crazy project. But, you know, the big story on the Internet is that it cost $1.8 million to build.
Matt Farah
Of course it does. Of course it does. You have to buy a whole 812.
Zach
Yeah. And take it apart and re engineer it to work in a different vehicle. That's smaller. Probably a lot smaller.
Matt Farah
Of course it does. You think? Where do people think all this shit comes from? This dude. This dude Steve. I should get my phone and see how many years ago Steve texted me about this car.
Zach
Really?
Matt Farah
I must have to go back four years in my text message for one from him being like. Cause he's like old. He doesn't text very well. Hey man, you gotta see this crazy, you know, 412. And I was like, bro, call me when it's done, let's go. But. And I hadn't heard from him in a while.
Zach
There he is. Yeah.
Matt Farah
Dude's fucking. This dude's out of his mind. So. Yeah, of course it cost one point. And I bet you his margins weren't even that good. He. This isn't a profit motivated guy. This is a. This is a true believer. Maxwell is.
Zach
And this is a fucking lunatic.
Matt Farah
Yeah. It's got a back seat.
Zach
So it's crazy is that the Ferrari 400 is 180, 89 inches long, which is 6 inches longer than a Ferrari 812. But the 812 has no back seat. Has no back seat. It's just engine.
Matt Farah
But this also has the engine behind the front axle.
Zach
Yeah. So it's really intruding on the.
Matt Farah
I don't know if you ever sat in one of these, but they're not that roomy for how big of a car they are. But I do love them in their sort of in a unique way. But of course it costs that much. You had to buy a 400. You had to buy an 8, 5 to 12. You had to spend God knows how long making it work together and you had to spend God knows how much making it look good. You had to make an entire interior. What do you think those. Those are fucking eight. Well, I guess they came out of the car. Those are the 812seats. So I guess they took them out of the car they bought. Right. So. But you had to pretty much make the entire rest of that interior. God, I bet that wood cost a fortune. That's like what. Like when my dad goes to fucking Turkey to choose his own wood for these shotguns, you know. Cause the wood is only from seven trees and you know the roots have to be 35ft deep and whatever. That's like what that wood is.
Zach
That's wild. Yeah, man, that's that is a lot of money.
Matt Farah
And the only place on the interior that I would say like I think I could do better is maybe I wouldn't have done the black steering column. Like it's hard to do that tan with the black. But you don't. I might have just sucked it up and got a full tan steering wheel. Like the black on the steering wheel and the steering column are jarring to me when the rest of the car is pretty much.
Zach
They are a little bit.
Matt Farah
There's bits of black.
Zach
I mean the seat bottom look here. Like it's a. It's a weird junction here between the tan and the black. Yeah.
Matt Farah
But I mean whatever. Like it's. It's. This is not my project. You spend 1.8 million whatever color you feel like it but sick that that works, right?
Zach
It's pretty cool. Probably sounds the cars we've driven. Well, we've driven two of his cars that were dynamically very very fun. They worked and they hand. I mean they handled well. Like they drove pretty correct as correctly as they could. Especially with the DeLorean.
Matt Farah
I definitely should have bought that Ferrari when I could have. Remember I could have had that thing for like $110,000. That would have been. That would have been crazy.
Zach
Yeah.
Matt Farah
Wonder where it is now. I'll give you 110 for if you're. If you're out there. I'll give you 110 for it today. That thing was fucking sweet. Twin turbo 348 car was great.
Zach
Someone made a video with it a couple years ago, so. Oh, they pulled the engine out. Maxwell Design did. They might still have it.
Matt Farah
Major service. What do you mean Maxwell's got it. Well are they upgraded?
Zach
They're at Maxwell Design.
Matt Farah
Yeah. Yeah.
Zach
So in three or two years ago they took the engine out.
Matt Farah
Maybe they were just doing a service.
Zach
Yeah, maybe you should hit them up.
Matt Farah
The car was awesome. That was fun.
Zach
Look, you just sold the car, man. Thing was so you should tech Steve Max.
Matt Farah
There was. There was nothing about that yellow car that it wasn't exciting.
Zach
I'm disappointed that that car wasn't on his list. Somewhere no level said buy have a steak dinner. That's true. Yeah. Go back to questions.
Matt Farah
That's disappointing. But that car rules mid in Ohio. Are there any EV SUV's that are fun enough to justify skipping the 2 car solution? Boring commute with kids but care about driving. I mean do the SUVs. I'm driving the Lucid Gravity in like two and a half weeks. Maybe that if you get A high spec Macan ev. Maybe that it's not an suv, but it's certainly a Taycan GTS Cross Turismo. But the Mach E Rally. Mach E Rally, that's.
Zach
I mean that is a really good car. But it just depends. It depends on what you get out of cars. You know, if you're looking, if you get excited by exhaust, sound and light, and light lightweight, you're not going to get that. But I think if you just like acceleration and we know plenty of people that have ICE cars that are just all about straight line speed, then yeah, an EV can totally be your two car solution. Yeah, Macan EV handles well, goes fast. You know, it'll give you those things.
Matt Farah
Okay, keep, keep going.
Zach
Mm.
Matt Farah
Okay. Kos Cob tuning update on the health vision of the channel. I mean, look, TST is not going to disappear overnight. Certainly not the podcast, which is doing just fine. You know, it's very, very tough making videos. There is still some value in making some kind of video content, but as we've shown, like the stuff that does well, the three videos that did the best in 2025 are exactly the three videos that Kevin the analyst said follow the formula of what would do well in 2025. And all three were ones that I didn't really wanna make. The number one was shitting on the cyberpunk truck, which, look, it turns out that all my takes on the cybertruck have aged pretty well. But at the time we made that, which was right when this thing came out. Not that it was risky, but it seemed like silly to make a whole video shitting on the cybertruck. But we did and it was the most viewed video of the year. And I just didn't enjoy it. Even though we made money, I did enjoy it. Number two was the Zinger and a, like, that's an unbelievable car. And like, you know, cool for them and cool for us that we got to have a go. But it was an exclusive. We were the first drive and I had to emcee a gig for free to get it. And I put a title I really didn't want to put on that video, which, which was that the Czinger 21C is the only hypercar worth this much money. Which isn't something I totally disagree with in terms of being, you know, looking at the field because it's just so different and for that much money, like I want fucking way off the deep end and it does that. But I didn't like having to use that title to get that much kind of attention. And that was what he said. You have to put the three things Kevin said were shit on something popular. Okay. Talk about money or stir up drama. Meaning, like, react to other YouTubers doing things. Those are the three. So we're not gonna react to other YouTubers doing Things, but the other two. And then the third one was the Taycan buying it, specifically buying it and driving it home, which I'm glad the video did. Hundreds of thousands of views, but I had to buy a car. I had to buy a. A depreciating car and then fly to a different state on New Year's Eve by myself to then spend four days driving it back. Like, you think that made money? Like, absolutely fucking zero. So those are the top three performing videos of our year. One I didn't want to make, one I titled something I didn't want to title. And the other one, I had to spend $70,000 on a car. And then all seven of the other top 10 were new Porsche sports car reviews. Wow. All seven of the other top 10. So, like, that's where we're at. And we only had five video. Five, six videos this year. Over 100,000 views. Yeah, like, that's, like, bad news. And I mean, I'll, you know, maybe I'll take responsibility for not evolving or not making as many videos. But, like, like, fact is, there's, like, a lot less cars to drive. There's a lot more like, boring crossovers. There's boring EVs, there's trucks and SUVs. There's, like, not a lot of enthusiast cars to drive. We try to drive all the ones we can. Like, there's just not that many. And, like, there's a backlash against very expensive cars. So, like, when. If there's a new Ferrari or new Lamborghini or new Aston Martin, like, everyone's just like, who the fuck can afford that? Why do I even care? Nobody cares about fast EVs really anymore. They're not. Those videos don't do well. You know, people care about stuff they might want to buy. And so, I mean, even though Porsches are expensive, people are still enthusiastic about them. And, like, there's just not that much, like, affordable stuff. Even when we did affordable, like the. The GR Corollas and the. And like, those aren't, like, new products that people are, like, interesting. Yeah, that one didn't do very well.
Zach
We put a lot of work into it.
Matt Farah
Yeah, that was hotel rooms and lots of transit and lots of food and editing and all kinds of stuff. And even we got the racetrack for almost free still couldn't make money. On the other hand, this costs us almost nothing. I mean, you and I cost our time. And so we're privileged to get to do it. We're privileged that people want to advertise on it. It's non algorithmic, so if you don't listen to this week's episode and it'll still be in your feed next week, you know, with YouTube, if someone doesn't watch your video or for a week or two, like, you're gone. That's it, you don't exist anymore.
Zach
Yeah, there's no Apple iTunes version of that.
Matt Farah
So, you know, just. And like, honestly, like with AI being all about everything now, like creating content to put into that system, like, feels like gross. Like if being someone who's like trying to like be authentic and be a human being and it's like everyone's just trying to like make money by shoveling AI slop into the world and it makes the Internet like such a worse place. It's just like it doesn't inspire your confidence that like the people in charge of all this are trying to actually make the world good.
Zach
I get so bummed when friends of ours send me a. AI videos that are bad AI videos. Like there's very creative ones that I go, okay, at least that was done well. But there's ones where it's like, this is lazy and obviously AI and it's like the jokes aren't great and I'm like, don't share that. Don't support this.
Matt Farah
Sure. So this is lazy and it's bad.
Zach
It's lazy and bad and it uses a lot of resources.
Matt Farah
I never heard back from that Angeles Death highway guy about, you know, I didn't see any more content from them.
Zach
They put out a new thing today.
Matt Farah
Did they?
Zach
They put out Porsche Air cooled Porsche one, I think today or yesterday.
Matt Farah
And I imagine it is AI.
Zach
Oh yeah, no, it's the same style.
Matt Farah
I tried. Yeah, I tried. I don't know, I don't know if they found, if they found an artist and got a price that was so horrifying they didn't even want to come back or I don't know if they said, you know, forget it, but I.
Zach
Think it's probably really expensive. It just depends on the, the amount of detail you want, you know, in a, in a animated video. Yeah, like art. Like art. Archer is one of my favorite animated shows ever. But what was brilliant about that is they could use kind of a couple of different forms and they could Just do a bunch of scenes. That's why there's so many talking scenes in that there's not much action. And then when they do the car scenes, the car scenes are done really well. And the physics, if you watch the cars slide and stuff, it's really well done. But that's where so much of their money goes. And when they're running away from bullets, it's just like the head is there and the arms just kind of do this. But it's just about the conversation because it's cheaper.
Matt Farah
Beneteau driver looking at either an EQE or a BMW i4 as an EV daily. Both have a great price on the used market. What's a better EV commuter experience? I don't like any of the EQEs that much. The i4 is, like, fine. It's fine. BMW's EVs I've not had. I've had very average experiences with, well, the.
Zach
Which was the one you drove in the canyons, though, for that test? Was that the i4M or something?
Matt Farah
I4M? Yeah, the fast one.
Zach
You like that one or.
Matt Farah
No, it was okay. That was the i4 M50. It was okay. The. The. The brakes didn't hold up and it only made full power for about a lap and a half of the track. Like it for an M, it was pretty substandard.
Zach
I would rather drive the. The BMW just for commuting.
Matt Farah
I'd rather Mach E than either of them.
Zach
That's true. But like the EQE we talked about, the brake pedal problem is terrible. And I just think the whole, like, waterfall dash is way too much.
Matt Farah
I wouldn't. I really wouldn't want that. I can I say neither. Like I would just get a Mach E. Honestly, I can't imagine a good. A decent Mach E is going to be that much more expensive than either an eqe or an i4, but it's a much better car than both. Chris, I don't know what this watch is. Can you Google whatever? What watch are Heisman trophies winners given? I'm shocked. All the years I've been reading about watch shit, I've never heard of the.
Zach
Plus, all the years you've read about football.
Matt Farah
Watch, watch.
Zach
Heisman Trophy wristwatch.
Matt Farah
Yeah. Reading the. The word Heisman diasmos. What the hell is that? Oh, wait. November Axia Time named partners of. What the fuck is that, Dude?
Zach
The official timepiece of the Heisman Trophy, bro.
Matt Farah
This is like where Trump watches are made. That's crazy. What is that? That thing that's wild. I mean, maybe it's like Augusta with the green jacket. That's probably a janky ass jacket, but because you want Augusta, you get to wear it and you're cool, even if it's not that nice of a jacket. What the fuck is this thing?
Zach
It seems like Axia partners with a lot of brands and sponsors, trophies. So it says adding the Heisman Trophy to the list of awards for which Axia Time has partnered. They also were the official watch of lacrosse.
Matt Farah
Yeah, the Tuartan Awards for lacrosse. All right, so this is just some. This is just some. I mean, I've never seen one of these things in person, but that's a no from me, though. It's a brand partnership that is basically the same as Trump watches. Basically. Okay, inside baseball. New York Teeth says free day. No traffic in la. Where would you go for a drive? For coffee? Drive route and then afternoon lunch. Stop.
Zach
With no traffic.
Matt Farah
I mean, you know, if I'm just chilling, I could. If it. It depends on the car. It also depends on the car because in the. In the Angeles Forest, there's like, nowhere to eat. So you really. There's not like, good coffee or food, like, really over there. So you kind of just have like, diner food. We with the diner.
Zach
The backdoor cafe is really good.
Matt Farah
The backdoor Cafe Sunland is solid.
Zach
Yeah.
Matt Farah
Yeah, that's good. Good bakery. Decent coffee comes in the big, like, fishbowl cup, you know.
Zach
That's true.
Matt Farah
Coffee's fine. The pastries are excellent.
Zach
Yeah.
Matt Farah
The eggs and bacon are good.
Zach
Yeah.
Matt Farah
So we start there. We go up big to Hunga, up to Newcomb's Ranch, via Angeles Forest, up upper Big to Hunga, then you come down. I mean, and if you're. You can go then. I mean, if you're baller, you go over the back of Angeles Forest highway into Palmdale, loop it across to, like, Lake Hughes Road, or via Bouquet Canyon and Spunky Canyon, and you can link the Central and North Angeles Forest. And then when you come down, you get lunch just like somewhere in Santa Claus. Clarita. Go have a burrito at Porsche at Bo's Place at Porsche Santa Clarita.
Zach
It's a good burrito.
Matt Farah
Yeah. Get a little breakfast burrito there.
Zach
I think I would try to link it over to Malibu if I could and get fish tacos at that. What's that place called?
Matt Farah
Neptune's Net?
Zach
No, no, no, the one Malibu Fish Keep Fish.
Matt Farah
Malibu Fish, whatever. Malibu's evu.
Zach
Yeah, I would get lunch there.
Matt Farah
Those are good.
Zach
Yeah. They actually catch the fish like that morning.
Matt Farah
Yeah, that's. That's fucking tasty. Johnny Ev Gierberman, Sell your business for millions and buy your ultimate dream car. What would it be? F40. I would just f. Oh, yeah.
Zach
McLaren F1.
Matt Farah
I mean, yeah, if you're rolling like that, that's another exponential level, but F40. Murray Motorsports. Assuming the slate truck and scout ever make it to production, do you see a possibility for another mini truck era with the OEMs bringing back small? I don't think the Scout's small, dude.
Zach
It's not big. The Scout's big.
Matt Farah
The size of an F150, give or take, right?
Zach
Yeah, it's big. It's big.
Matt Farah
Yeah, it's big. The slate, maybe. I mean, Ford says that people are gravitating toward the Maverick and the Ranger more and the F150 less. Like that's good. I see a lot of Mavericks around. Not that my eyes are data, but certainly they are moving. Mavericks.
Zach
They sold 120,000 of them in 2025.
Matt Farah
Mavericks.
Zach
Yeah, they sold 131,000 in 2024 and that was a 40% increase from what they sold the year before that. So people are, people are buying a lot of them, I think. How do we define mini truck? Are we talking about just like smaller than a Maverick, you know, drifting into case size or just the trend of like small street?
Matt Farah
Yeah, I mean, I don't think we're getting in America K trucks anything like, I mean, obviously like new K trucks, but I do think that people are realizing finally that the half ton trucks are both too big and too expensive.
Zach
Yeah.
Matt Farah
If you look at a fucking like 1997 F150, it's like the size of a Ranger today. And bed height is important for people. Not everybody wants, wants a, you know, a four and a half foot or whatever bed height, you know, they want a little lower to load shit into. I would, I've actually like. I contemplated a Maverick the other night. I looked at a Maverick. I thought about. Did I, did I? Like, if we were going to, you know, we're maybe trying to work on this trailer sponsorship for the ice race and I thought like, if I was maybe going to get. If the Maverick could tow enough to be worthwhile, if it would then be a thing that we could use, you know, for the shop once in a while. I don't think quite yet, but maybe soon. Yeah, that it?
Zach
And then. Yeah, that's it.
Matt Farah
All right, cool. All right. A little shorter than normal show today, but that's Cars and bids fault. Honestly, not mine. I thought that would be fully 20 minutes longer.
Zach
That's the bidder's fault.
Matt Farah
Congratulations to. What the fuck is the guy's name?
Zach
Me. Meep Cars.
Matt Farah
Meep Cars 1. Meep. Meep Cars 51. Meep Cars 51. Whoever you are, I'll call you later. Collect that. I'll collect that money. Oh, take this beautiful machine for a drive up the coast. I wonder if this person's going to fly in and drive home. That would be cool.
Zach
That would be a great use of it.
Matt Farah
It would be. Remember the guy flew in and drove the bent Bentley home. Guy flew down from Seattle with his mother, drove the Bentley back. It's a fucking good move. Thank you to our patrons. We appreciate you. That was a good result of that auction, I'm happy to say. And we're getting lunch or dinner at Charcoal. No Brunello, though. See you guys later. Bye.
