You guys come on down. It's going to be an Amazing Hang. TST with Smith and Sniff live in Irvine, August 18th. Tickets at the link in bio while they last. All right, folks, on this episode of the podcast, I give my Myers Manx a much needed canyon shakedown. Plus getting ready for my scooter trip up the coast to San Francisco. The cybertruck, as it turns out to, is an enormous failure and a whole lot more. It's the Smoking Tire podcast. Let's go. Hi, everybody. Welcome to the show. Didn't intend to start with fucking four and a half minutes on healthcare, but here we are. That's the fucking world we live in. So welcome to the program. We did do some car things. The car thing I did was probably more exciting than the car thing Zach did. Zach drove an electric SUV to a doctor's office.
Zach Bowman
I drove my car today. Yeah, but anyway. But yeah, I drove the Ionic 9,
Matt Farah
which actually seems like kind of a mildly delightful vehicle. I mean, at least aesthetically it's pleasing, I think.
Zach Bowman
I mean, Hyundai and Genesis, we've driven a bunch of them. They continue to, I think, over deliver for the price. You open the door like it looks like a fancy doctor's office in there. This was like cream interior, a lot of fake cream aluminum. Right. Not white. And like soft lighting and the buttons and stuff. Yeah, they made it look real fancy for a lot less money.
Matt Farah
Who have they copied in fancy space? I think they kind of in their interiors are doing what sort of Range Rover is doing in the same.
Zach Bowman
I think that's probably the most accurate. I think for a while it was Mercedes and now I do think they've kind of become their own thing. I think when you look in a Genesis or a Hyundai, you just go, oh, this is a Korean car. But meaning, like, there's a certain aesthetic that I. Now I don't see. I don't see it in Honda or Acura. I don't see it from Germany. It's like their color choices, the button design, the shape of things, all that stuff.
Matt Farah
Cadillacs look a little Korean on the inside. The way they've got their screen, the big wide screen.
Zach Bowman
Yeah, but I Mean more like just the cutouts of the buttons.
Matt Farah
Oh, the shapes.
Zach Bowman
Ovals instead of squares. Cadillac is very square.
Matt Farah
They are very square.
Zach Bowman
That's what I mean. There's a lot more like.
Matt Farah
I guess I was thinking Ionic 5, which is a little more square, whereas the Genesis are very oval. Y.
Zach Bowman
Very oval.
Matt Farah
Yeah, yeah.
Zach Bowman
Very non offensive. You know, not sharp edges. Think calming.
Matt Farah
It's non committal.
Zach Bowman
It's like a spa, dude. It is. It's like a now massage room in there.
Matt Farah
I happen to like the GV60 electric.
Zach Bowman
Very, very much. That's great.
Matt Farah
I thought that was a fucking dope ass car. I really. And actually I just. I might have convinced my sister in law, Jillian to buy one. Or at least one.
Zach Bowman
Nice.
Matt Farah
Her Volvo. I can't believe it's been three years already, but her Volvo S60. Lisa's up already, which she loved. Her S60 Hybrid she like loved. And so now she wants to go full electrico. And she was like, what was that like cool looking froggy Bentley thing? That.
Zach Bowman
That is a great description of it. It is all those things.
Matt Farah
It's like a tadpole that hasn't yet grown into a Bentley.
Zach Bowman
Its face has grown to frog and the back is still tadpole. Yeah. Also a little bit of like Xiao, what's the super fast Chinese car like the light shape?
Matt Farah
I tried to guess. Xiaomi.
Zach Bowman
Round, 720s kind of thing. Yeah, it's a little bit.
Matt Farah
Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's a lovely car. So she may lease one of those next.
Zach Bowman
Nice scoop in the used market. It'd be good.
Matt Farah
Someone, Someone. Excuse me, my nephew Cole, okay. Who I plugged on the last podcast, who just did his teen tour or whatever you call those now in Japan and Korea. What? Cole?
Zach Bowman
Yeah. What's a teen tour?
Matt Farah
What's a teen tour? Yeah. Oh, did I just show my privilege? Maybe I did.
Zach Bowman
You do, but I don't know if you just did.
Matt Farah
Well, I don't know. The audience can decide for themselves. A teen tour is a mini camp. It's a trip for a group of teenagers to a typically culturally interesting place as opposed to like a Spring Breaky type place.
Zach Bowman
So is it like birthright but you pay for it?
Matt Farah
It's yeah, like non religious birthright. And you pay for it? Yes, actually, yes, basically, yes. It's that. So he went to Japan and Korea and had like the fucking time of his life.
Zach Bowman
Of course.
Matt Farah
I mean, he's like, he's no, he's hooked on this shit and all. His car. He's taking pictures of all the crazy, you know, JDM cars he saw. And he's in Korea and he goes check out this photo. And he shows me a photo he got of the lobby, the outside the lobby of his hotel. And it's like some big G wagon, some supercar and a Genesis GV60 magma in the orange. And I was like, holy shit, look at that. I didn't even know that was like on sale. It might be on sale in Korea already, but it was up right up front. And this may have been for some publicity reason. I don't know. He's young, he wouldn't have known to look for the signs of it being like an M plate or something like that.
Zach Bowman
I see the price prices were released there six months ago. Oh, so maybe it's on sale and some people have done reviews of them, I guess over there.
Matt Farah
So maybe it's a press car or it's on sale. But yeah, he caught one in the wild, a Magma and I was actually pretty stoked. I was like, dude, that orange crossover is like the most interesting thing in that photo.
Zach Bowman
Yeah, you're like, we really like this car. It is a good looking car.
Matt Farah
That's cool. All right, so is there anything, what else is there to report on the Ioniq 9? Are you not prepared?
Zach Bowman
I was not prepared.
Matt Farah
Alright, you know what, forget, we'll come back.
Zach Bowman
I put on Instagram with ask me anything and I'll see what the people ask and I'll come back with some information.
Matt Farah
Okay, we can save that. I finally, you know, I didn't have any press cars and I took the Manx to the Canyons. Malibu Canyons, not Angeles Forest to be fair. Little tighter, more technical. But my. I don't actually think I took any pictures of it. My Neighbors Ryan and Dr. Amit are part of the My First Porsche Club. A bunch of my neighbors. Everyone my age in my neighborhood is in the My first Porsche Club.
Zach Bowman
My favorite kids book.
Matt Farah
I'm a little ahead of these guys, but a lot of 997s's a lot of 996, 4s's. These seem to be the popular choice for my neighborhood, unsurprisingly. Great cars. And so they're like learning canyon driving as well. It's like that. And so I led them on a little drive in Malibu and now that the Manx has the upgraded cooling and upgraded oil, all this stuff has been upgraded and I've been driving it around, I drove it on the highway and the temps, the thermal loads are like really good. Nothing is over 195. Everything is super steady. I cruised like 20 miles or so on the freeway at like 75 miles an hour. Allegedly. Of course, up over the. Over the hill to the 101 on a hot morning. And everything was great. I have to say, the cars. The car's happy cruising place is really like 67. I was going faster than I wanted to go in it, just to see if the engine.
Zach Bowman
How does it feel at that speed? Tracking straight? Yes. Is it just too windy or are you aware of how fragile you are in a vehicle at that speed?
Matt Farah
It tracks straight. It drives really nice. Here's where I was building to is that now that I'm no longer worried about running the engine too hard because the thermal capacity is where needs to be, I'm actually finding out that the car has very interesting dynamics. And actually it's really fun. So, like, under about 70, it's a totally normal fun. It's the Vespa of cars. It's not too windy, it's not too bumpy, it's not too darty. The brakes are more than sufficient. You're exposed and you are aware of the consequences of all actions around you. And so I don't follow people too close in this car on the highway. I don't drive it like a dick bag. I drive it a little more chill and a little more attentive. But it's a fucking disco ball. So people see you. It's not like you blend. So you're small, but you are a radiant ball of light, as much as any car can be. And so it's not. The wheelbase is so short that it actually doesn't do the like in harmony. It's actually kind of okay on the 405, which is very. Which is pleasant. It can be a little darty when you've got a harsh expansion joint that's on an angle. You can go. There's a little bit of a skip.
Zach Bowman
Oh, okay.
Matt Farah
Like on the 90, going back towards my house, there's one that's on an angle, and it's a little bit of a skip. But the valving of the shocks, they've redone is really nice. The bumps are no longer enough to. It moves your foot on the pedal when you hit bumps, but they've retuned it so that no longer affects the throttle. And I've also realized that now that I'm not worried about it getting hot, I'm using the top half of the power band more. And it's really. It's a fucking airplane engine. So believe it or not, shocking. It's best above 2500rpm, below 2500rpm. It really does lug a little bit.
Zach Bowman
Is that usually where you were living with it before?
Matt Farah
I mean, I was keeping it between 2000 and 4000 and now it's really more like 2505 is really where you want to be. You want to keep it above 2500 and it's much smoother and kind of happier, which is cool. And so in the actual canyons, folks, we're taking a quick break from the action because Delete Me is supporting us today. Let me ask you a question over here. It's really fun to be able to lean into the left hand corners and kind of be almost outside the car a little bit. To use your own body as part of the weight transfer. It's incredibly analog. Everything is manual. Normally, I hate fucking manual brakes, but this car is so light that it's just. It's fine. You feel so much through the tire. You feel so much through steering. Everything is completely manual and analog. But the car's so light, the inputs are so light that it's not like a workout. So usually when everything is manual, even in a light car, it ends up somehow being exhausting. This is not.
Zach Bowman
Well, I think that sometimes that happens. If the car is aggressively sprung, it's like a track thing. So then it's like, it's moving around a lot. You're also driving faster. The feedback through the wheels to the steering wheel is more aggressive, but this is a little bit gentler.
Matt Farah
Yeah, and also it's got some body roll. It's got some weight transfer when you move it around. It's obviously rear engine, but it's less rear engine than it would be if it was a four cylinder, for instance. Less rear weight bias. And because it's got weight transfer, you can put the weight on the nose and turn into a corner. But if you get back on the power, you have to wait. You really have to wait. You're not getting back on the power early because it's just gonna push.
Zach Bowman
Yeah. The engine's behind the rear axle. Right.
Matt Farah
I mean, it's way out there and it's not fast, really. I mean, if you put your foot down, it scoots. But the confidence through the corners, you're not going that fast. You're probably going the speed you would be going in a 356. Like, that's about the same vibe in a fast 356.
Zach Bowman
Yeah, it's a little quicker than a Prius, I think. You know, when you jump on it, the one we drove when we filmed the video, like, it's torquey and fun and you're like, ooh, from like 6 to 45. It, like, it moves, but so much.
Matt Farah
It's faster than that is.
Zach Bowman
The body roll gives you a lot of, you know, sensation of speed. And it kind of like, it makes it really enjoyable.
Matt Farah
I think it's, it's, it's so. It is. It's got a huge sensation of speed. Look, two guys in relatively modern Porsches that are New to driving, Thought we were going quick. Right. Like they were. Like, they thought that was quick and it wasn't that quick.
Zach Bowman
Right.
Matt Farah
For us. But for a novice, you know, you're not holding people up. That's right. You're not holding anybody up in this thing. It's like it's. It isn't slow, it's just not flying. But for a vintage thing, for considering what it. The era it represents, the era in which it was fundamentally developed, it's not that slow. You have to try it. It's so goddamn fun.
Zach Bowman
I hope so.
Matt Farah
Yeah, I'm sure it is a blast.
Zach Bowman
Yeah, it was fun. I drove. What did I drive yours, maybe I drove yours.
Matt Farah
What?
Zach Bowman
I drove the gray one for the video.
Matt Farah
You drove the gray one for the video. This is. Well, now, this is a world apart from where it was.
Zach Bowman
What's nice when you, you know, you're driving up the one and you can feel and sound like you're kind of in a weird VW Beetle. But then when you turn up the canyon, you don't continue to feel like you're in an old Beetle because of power, you chugging along. And I know there's some Beetle, people that have fast cars, but like, I just meant the average speed.
Matt Farah
Yeah, you've got. Even if you had this, if you had this, if you had 150 horsepower or 175 horsepower in a fucking Beetle, you'd be hauling ass. Yeah, this is a very. It's like a supermoto. I mean, it's a supermoto with four wheels. You're leaning, you're banging ge. The pedals are great, the inputs are great, the seating position is really nice.
Zach Bowman
You know what it is? It's a bowling ball that fucked a side by side. That's what it is. Yeah.
Matt Farah
And dude, I gotta tell you this. Everybody loves you. And you know, you know, you can look, everybody loves you, but like, people love you that shouldn't love you. Like, dude, like, I'm listening. Like, I'm kinda hitting it up.
Zach Bowman
Nick Fuentes is like, you know what, Farrah? Jewish Farah, I'm actually okay with you right now.
Matt Farah
Alex Jones was like, hell yeah, brother.
Zach Bowman
That's the first frog I've seen that I like.
Matt Farah
I'd fuck that frog, dude. I got smiles and waves from cyclists while mobbing past them at speed. It exploded my mind. I had beautiful single women. I don't know if they're single, but they were in their cars by themselves, talking about, pointing, smiling. You want to meet people? This is your motherfucking. Chariot. The. The reaction from. It's like if you roll up next to a beautiful woman as a man who looks like this in an aggressive sports car and try and be like, hey, that's a 50, 50 maybe 30 negative, 30 kind of neutral and 30 positive, maybe, right? If it's like a badass car in this, it's like 100, like crazy how.
Zach Bowman
Well, it also doesn't advertise your wealth the way a Ferrari would, right? Because a FERRARI of that 30% that dig what you're driving, a percentage of them are just looking at the resources you hold and not actually the car. So that can be dangerous. But the Manx, they might go, what does this cost?
Matt Farah
$12?
Zach Bowman
I don't know. Like, it looks old, but it's not.
Matt Farah
You know, that's cool. You know what? I had someone tell me though, they saw it the other day at the gas station and I was like, you know, telling what it is. And they go, oh, this is like way better than a golf cart. I go, a golf cart? I go, are you. Fuck. This is like 150 plus horsepower golf cart. I was like, I drive. You drive this on the highway? And he's like, yeah, well, you know, it's like, you know, golf cart. I was like, all right, man.
Zach Bowman
Weird comparison.
Matt Farah
Weird comparison.
Zach Bowman
Yeah. And you have a license plate.
Matt Farah
Some people are just like, yeah. I was like, this is a. It's a car and not a golf cart. And he was like, well, maybe he
Zach Bowman
thinks in golf cart, I guess.
Matt Farah
But dude, it was so fun. I had the best time driving it. Noise canceling. Headphones do make a lot of difference, but it's set up real nice. When I got home and parked it in the garage, I left it overnight. There was a little drip of trans fluid. And that happens. It happens.
Zach Bowman
It's a foreign car.
Matt Farah
It's a rebuilt gearbox, but with a 50 year old original case. And so he said, sometimes when you drive them hard on a hot day, there's a vent and it can vent out some of the trans fluid. And so I actually did a little bit of wrenching, got the port off, checked. It was a little low. I topped it off.
Zach Bowman
Oh, you'd lost enough. Where then it was.
Matt Farah
I'd lost about 100 milliliters. 110 milliliters.
Zach Bowman
What is that in hamburgers?
Matt Farah
It's like 2% of the capacity. It was not significant, but it was just like, I've now learned Mike from Manx was like, yeah, if you drive them real hard and it's Hot. The gear oil can get really thin. It can come out the vent, lose a little bit. He's like, it's not, you know, not a big deal, but if it's. If it's dripping under the car, you may want to check the level.
Zach Bowman
Cool.
Matt Farah
That's just like, I guess Volkswagen people will be like, yep. Because it's a. It is a ultimately a VW gearbox. Although re. Done by, you know, racy people.
Zach Bowman
Cool. So they're really fun. It's the same thing as the Morgan. Any of these cars that are fun for us to drive but don't look intimidating or like you're trying to say, you know something.
Matt Farah
Yeah.
Zach Bowman
And especially if it's like a sparkly color or a friendly thing.
Matt Farah
The whole, like, sounds weird.
Zach Bowman
Like, top down, no windows. Like, it just. It looks like you don't take yourself that seriously. And I think people like that. Yeah, it's a more. It's a. It's a friendly, fun vehicle.
Matt Farah
It's fucking great, dude. Oh, it makes me so. It makes me so happy, that thing. It's crazy how happy it makes me to drive it.
Zach Bowman
Good.
Matt Farah
Just so fun.
Zach Bowman
You had it now how long?
Matt Farah
A year and a year.
Zach Bowman
Okay.
Matt Farah
Yeah, Almost exactly a year. Yeah. 1380 miles. Excuse me. There's that cough. That's why I'm taking that. But you know, in that same vein. What is it? What day is today? Tuesday. Tuesday.
Zach Bowman
Wednesday.
Matt Farah
Wednesday. No, it's Tuesday is Tuesday. It's definitely Tuesday. Okay. You know, less than a week. Scooter trip.
Zach Bowman
Yeah, same. Similar idea, same vibe. Yep.
Matt Farah
Vespa trip. I got that. That, you know that back brace thing you were wearing? I got one of them. So hopefully keep me. Keep my posture good.
Zach Bowman
It's pretty soft, so. Yeah, I wouldn't rely on it for.
Matt Farah
No, my. Mine is like the copper thing. One that has the metal bands in it.
Zach Bowman
Okay, good. Like rib. Like. It's a corset. Really.
Matt Farah
It's. It is, Yeah. I was trying to avoid the C word. It is a corset.
Zach Bowman
It's rebranding it as like a what? Tactical lumbar support system. That's what it would be.
Matt Farah
There needs to be like, what's the maga version of a corset?
Zach Bowman
Tactical would be in there somewhere. And then manliness, testosterone, something like that. Yeah, yeah. Traditional. Traditional back support system
Matt Farah
kind of values, you know, in there somewhere.
Zach Bowman
Christian Patriot Mobile back support.
Matt Farah
A division of.
Zach Bowman
Yeah, Patriot Mobility. And that's probably a company. It's probably already 15 companies called that.
Matt Farah
It's a division of Black Rifle.
Zach Bowman
That's a company that probably sells wheelchairs at a price premium to people who also subscribe to Patriot Mobile.
Matt Farah
They just buy wheelchairs and then spray paint their logo on the side of
Zach Bowman
the wheelchairs at 15%. Yeah.
Matt Farah
Hey, supreme did it first. They're just following the playbook.
Zach Bowman
I put those stickers on one of the, like, fire. One of the pipes in our building that's, like, carries all the water for the fire. And they put Supreme. I just hate it. It's so.
Matt Farah
Cause it's red.
Zach Bowman
Yeah.
Matt Farah
You know, I think when we put the fucking red standpipe here, I think someone jokingly, maybe Vinny put a Supreme sticker on there.
Zach Bowman
I'm gonna take pictures and send them to Vinny. Like, did you do this in?
Matt Farah
No, it's gone. It's gone. It was funny for five minutes. Six. Six years ago. It really was. And then. And then it was like, Remember when they sold bricks?
Zach Bowman
No, I don't remember.
Matt Farah
Supreme bricks.
Zach Bowman
That's hilarious.
Matt Farah
Just don't Google this. Just go straight to ebay. Just straight. What does a Supreme brick go for? It is exactly what you think, Klapman. It is a brick that is stamped Supreme. And for a minute or so, there were people that were like, I'm gonna build my house with these. And actually attempted to collect $150, $240 on eBay.
Zach Bowman
449. Wow.
Matt Farah
Fucking hell, man.
Zach Bowman
They keep going, this new one. What an amazing test of what humans will buy.
Matt Farah
Isn't that crazy?
Zach Bowman
And then someone's like, I'm gonna build my house with this. Like, you're not rich enough. But also, why? Cause two years later, that would be a fashion mistake.
Matt Farah
I think it was pre AI. I mean, it could have been Photoshopped or whatever, but there was a supposed ad from Marketplace or something of a guy that had a huge pallet of these bricks and was looking. You know, I was gonna build a blah, blah, blah with them. And, you know, he wanted whatever it was. Fucking $100,000 for the fucking pallet of bricks. Crazy. I don't know if it was real. Like, for the record, I do not know if it was real. It's definitely. It was definitely possible. There were people that bought a shitload of these stupid things.
Zach Bowman
Amazing. Amazing. What do you do with it? You put it on your desk and you hope other people know that it cost you 150 bucks.
Matt Farah
Yeah. Isn't that wild? I mean, it really serves no other purpose. It's like a fucking bat signal for
Zach Bowman
suckerdom it has the function of a bad watch, but none of the function, you know, like it advertises the same thing. Right, but only if they come to your house to see the brick. Or you got to carry it around and reveal it like a strange, an exotic pet you smuggled from a different country.
Matt Farah
Yeah, no, I just a dumb thing that is tied to a hype brand. It just has no lasting value or social cred, like whatsoever.
Zach Bowman
And I'm sure that when we were in our 20s, we bought. You see an athlete you like, you buy the skate shoe. That's what I did when I was 20, but at least it was a shoe.
Matt Farah
For sure. Could do something with it. No, for sure. Like it's same as when. As soon as LVMH took over Tiffany, I mean, I was fucking there. And my dad, of course, because he's very smart. Called it. Folks, one more quick break for Avance. Love these guys. They've been supporting us for years now. Avance is a great company made of great people. We know them individually. It's not done through an agency. These are our homies. Avant helps enthusiasts save money and enjoy their passion more. It's actually very straightforward. And the math does work because Avant's members get sweet discounts and a nice quarterly print magazine. I would pay for just the magazine itself. We've known Adam from Avants a long time and he put me on the COVID I think of one of their first issues and I've really enjoyed getting their magazine for a while. But also here, get this math. They help you save money on things that you're going to buy anyway, like tires. Right. An Avants member gets a 10% off discount at Discount Tire, plus an additional 10% if you buy Michelin or BFGoodrich. So if you were going to spend $1,500 on a set of pilot sports, you're going to save $300 just because you're an Avance member. And it's only $99 a year to join. So you're plus 200 if you get just the tires, right? At 1500 bucks, which easily sports car tires could be more than that. And Avants will send you a $70 gift card to Griot's Garage when you sign up, so you get the detailing. That way the membership literally pays for itself, plus the magazine, plus all kinds of cool regional events that Avants does around the country for their members. I've been to a bunch of them. Their Monterey Car Week party is a great time. So you can go to avants.com, a v a n-t s.com t s t and then use code TST for 10% off. That's another 10% off your membership. This thing is basically free. In fact, it could potentially be mucho money saving for you. Avance.comtst. use code TST for 10% off. Thank you to Avance for sponsoring the pod. He called it so hard. He didn't call it publicly obviously, but he called it to me because he's man with class who doesn't speak to.
Zach Bowman
You know.
Matt Farah
But whatever he said, you wait. As soon as they take over this brand, they're gonna put that color on everything.
Zach Bowman
The Tiffany blue.
Matt Farah
The Tiffany blue. And for two years they did.
Zach Bowman
Did they make a brick?
Matt Farah
They made a basketball? They made. I mean the amount of dumb shit they made with the Tiffany blue on it. And it's by the way, Tiffany put the blue on stuff too. But I'm telling you, they Lew it up 10x. And my dad goes, he's gonna burn out people's for this color in about a year or two and they're gonna make a bunch of money and then they're not gonna be able to do anything interesting with this color for a really long time because people will be like, meh.
Zach Bowman
Yeah.
Matt Farah
And that's exactly what happened. Exactly what happened.
Zach Bowman
You go too far.
Matt Farah
Yeah, they were selling all kinds of dumb shit with it that was like unrelated to anything. So. Yeah, that'll happen. Hype shit.
Zach Bowman
Hype train.
Matt Farah
Speaking of the hype train, did you see that, the Bloomberg article that I sent you that this. The cybertruck is potentially the biggest sales flop of all time. It's officially not great for the cybertruck. The numbers compared to the Edsel are just brutal.
Zach Bowman
Truck 2.0,
Matt Farah
that's the original one.
Zach Bowman
Yeah, we want the original. Yeah,
Matt Farah
it's actually. Oh no.
Zach Bowman
Oh.
Matt Farah
They've paywalled it. I had to get it through Apple News on my phone. The whole thing.
Zach Bowman
We'll get it from.
Matt Farah
We'll get it, we'll steal, we'll crib
Zach Bowman
it from the people who've cribbed it from supercar Blondie. We'll get it. Sure.
Matt Farah
There we go. But not great. But not surprising, right?
Zach Bowman
You know what, I will say that I was a little surprised because the hype was so big leading up to it. Year one, people were flipping these things for profit. And you did see a lot more than you do now. And I'm not like we drove it, we didn't like it. Other people Drove it. They loved it. Whatever. But I didn't expect the sales to fall off a cliff.
Matt Farah
I mean, I expected so few people. Like, that's why, like, back in the day before it came out, like, when I called it a fraud and all that shit and thought I was certain that it could only be that thing because there's no fucking way enough people would buy that to make it a viable product. It just looked too stupid.
Zach Bowman
I agree. But I thought we started seeing so many of them and there were people that clearly liked the styling. They liked how tough it looked. They liked that it was bulletproof. Ish. Depending on caliber. Like, people were really into that. Okay. So I didn't expect it to just drop. Man, where's my phone? You sent me the photo.
Matt Farah
That's from the graphic. Was from the Bloomberg article. It may not be.
Zach Bowman
Cybertruck sold 1/6 of Musk's 250 unit annual projection. Posted the steepest sales decline of any US EV name played in 2025. Yeah, but 1/6 of what? Well, what he wanted or what was estimated. That's bad.
Matt Farah
Yeah, that's really bad. And I mean, are we surprised? Like, it's just not that good of a truck and it looks stupid. What I'm actually genuinely surprised about is that fewer. Like there haven't been many pedestrians reported to be julianned by it. That's surprising. I would have thought that it would have been Julieanning pedestrians for sure.
Zach Bowman
But it seemed if they don't sell that many, the odds are you're not hitting that many people.
Matt Farah
That's a good point.
Zach Bowman
Yeah, that's a good point. Yeah, I wanted to see.
Matt Farah
And also, if you're driving a cybertruck, people are gonna stay far as fuck away from you. So there could be that too.
Zach Bowman
So based on this graphic, and I'll try to find it for people that are listening, but. But the projected sales, of course, was 250,000. The first year was out, it sold less than 50. And then in 2025, it sold half of the sales. In 2024, it is just a cliff and then two small stairs going down.
Matt Farah
How many Edsels for the first two years of production? According to that chart, I believe the Edsel is the black one. Projections of 200,000 in the first year
Zach Bowman
sold less than one third of Target sold.
Matt Farah
Yeah, so Musk said 250,000, but they sold a sixth of that target.
Zach Bowman
Yeah. Year two sales of Cybertruck well under 25,000. 10% of annual goal and hope that's
Matt Farah
to more people by the way.
Zach Bowman
Right.
Matt Farah
This article, this article shows raw sales numbers. There are more people in the country right now, so. Yeah, that's not surprising.
Zach Bowman
Yeah, it sold 20,000. They sold 20,237 Cybertrucks in 2025 according to Cox Automotive figures. A 48% decline from the previous year where they sold only 38,965. That is bad.
Matt Farah
Yeah.
Zach Bowman
Truck 2.0.
Matt Farah
Not great. It's not great.
Zach Bowman
And let's see, the population has pretty much doubled since 1959.
Matt Farah
So speaking of. Yeah, speaking of 1959 and wow. It's like the Convergence. This is like a Fucking Tarantino Movie. 1959. Cars of the Julianne people. At Westside Collector Car Storage, we have a car that is about to go live on. Bring a trailer. It's a 1959 Cadillac Fleetwood 75 limousine. It's not a stretch stretch limousine. I mean but it for 59.
Zach Bowman
If you see it, it's probably 22ft long.
Matt Farah
I drove it for the video the other day.
Zach Bowman
It's awesome.
Matt Farah
It's fucking so awesome. Somebody should buy it. It's the dopest thing ever. It's got some nice patina on it. It's like I said in the video. It's nice enough that you could buy it, have the chrome redone and drive it to car week and be taken seriously. Or you could leave it alone. It pretty much looks exactly like that. Yeah, or you can leave it alone as is and be like pretty punk rock in it. You know what I mean?
Zach Bowman
I think if you did like a clay bar on the, on the paint, it would look above punk rock.
Matt Farah
But we did it. We've done. Oh this, this isn't the one we have. But ours looks. The one we're selling looks.
Zach Bowman
I think you could roll up to any hotel or club or whatever in it right now if it was clean and it looks 8/10 of the way to really great.
Matt Farah
It does. I mean, no, it is. This is an awesome car. It's in incredibly nice original condition. You know, there's some pitting on the chrome and stuff like that. But like it's a fucking cool ass nice car. But like you could be, you know, if you were a jersey rocker, you know, you could roll this just as like if you were a fucking seersucker coach concours person. That's the spread of appeal of this particular vehicle.
Zach Bowman
Rear seat legroom unparalleled.
Matt Farah
It's crazy. It's awesome. So having said that, that's a great angle. Having Said that in the book Unsafe at Any Speed by Ralph Nader, which is a book I think is amazing. Everyone talks about the Corvair, but there's a really big section on fintail Cadillacs
Zach Bowman
and it's a pretty scary section.
Matt Farah
And let me tell you something. I accidentally bumped into one of the fins of this car and stabbed myself in the intercostal rib muscle the other day and fucked myself up for like six hours. And then when I went to do the drive video. Can I get a. What? I want to see. I need to see this.
Zach Bowman
They have all the pictures.
Matt Farah
No, I need to see. I need to see the top. The top of the front of the door. The top of the front door. Oh, so like ideally an open front. Yes, that. No, go down, down, down. That's it. Yes. So then I'm trying to mess.
Zach Bowman
That's sharp.
Matt Farah
You like this? You like this, Zach, look at the top of the fucking door on this car. I am trying to put the camera on the center of the roof. So I'm standing on the door sill leaning over.
Zach Bowman
I can't do that.
Matt Farah
Do you want to know what type of stabbing I received in the head? It was like. It felt like an eagle talon beak on my lower back as I came down. Yeah.
Zach Bowman
The top corner of the door, where it meets the roof is a tortilla chip. It is truly people that sharp. I am shocked. It looks like Dracula's widow's peak hairline.
Matt Farah
And I'm not saying you shouldn't buy this 59 Fleetwood 75, but I'm saying the whole. Well, they don't make cars like that anymore, dude. This car's stabby as a motherfucker. This car's dangerous as shit when parked.
Zach Bowman
Yeah. Why? I just. It could have made that curved, I guess, you know, design language in the back. But man, what a choice. That is very sharp.
Matt Farah
Fucking crazy, right?
Zach Bowman
Yeah, that's nuts.
Matt Farah
So, yeah, I hurt myself twice on this car while it was not moving. But what a cool ass thing that's going on in Baton. Now. This is this one. This one we're showing is not ours. Ours is black. Ours has cloth, not leather. Which actually I think in the context of this vehicle is better.
Zach Bowman
Look at the footrest.
Matt Farah
We got the footrest.
Zach Bowman
Oh, my God.
Matt Farah
Really got the footrest. Yeah. And those things against the bulkhead, there are flip down jump seats so you can. You can do a face up. Yeah, yeah. Wild thing.
Zach Bowman
I love it.
Matt Farah
Yeah, yeah. This will be a really. My wife saw it here and go there. See the jump Seats. Look at that. They face forward.
Zach Bowman
Oh, wow.
Matt Farah
It's like a stow and go.
Zach Bowman
Yeah. Okay.
Matt Farah
So like my wife saw this and she's like, we're buying this. And I was like, we are most certainly not buying this. It's way too fucking big. But it's amazing.
Zach Bowman
It is the anti pow. You could put the pow in the trunk. Dude, it's cool. I mean, if you had Musto should buy it. Yeah.
Matt Farah
This is a Mike Musto car.
Zach Bowman
Good road trip car. Yeah.
Matt Farah
You know, it's ironic. I mean, you can kind of take a guess by looking at it, but very little front seat room. That is like I would hire a short person to drive me around in it it. Because yeah, all the room is in the back.
Zach Bowman
That's interesting. I guess it is a limousine. So your driver can only be so high. That way they can never overpower you.
Matt Farah
If it was possible, you know, if I owned this car, if I could somehow custom move the front seat like two inches further back.
Zach Bowman
Have you heard of money? You could. You can move anything.
Matt Farah
Can I buy it with privilege?
Zach Bowman
Yeah, you trade your privilege credits in. Yeah.
Matt Farah
This thing's amazing.
Zach Bowman
You're right. The steering wheel here is like. It's above the seat body.
Matt Farah
Yeah.
Zach Bowman
And that doesn't move.
Matt Farah
If I. If this was three years ago, the steering wheel would have been in my gut.
Zach Bowman
That's true.
Matt Farah
Yeah.
Zach Bowman
But then that's hands free steering, right?
Matt Farah
Oh, dude, did you see this thing? Did I show it to you?
Zach Bowman
Yes.
Matt Farah
I am an ambassador now.
Zach Bowman
This is a.
Matt Farah
This is ambassadorship for Grand Seiko. You believe that? 10 years.
Zach Bowman
That's so cool.
Matt Farah
Carl, we did it, buddy.
Zach Bowman
Yeah.
Matt Farah
We're in the game. It's titanium.
Zach Bowman
Yeah, you showed me at your house.
Matt Farah
But it's so light.
Zach Bowman
Very light.
Matt Farah
Delightful. I've never been excited by titanium before.
Zach Bowman
Really light.
Matt Farah
But this, because this watch is like a dive watch. So it's kind of a. It's a little. Not bulky, but it's like bulkier than my very thin watches. It being titanium does like offset that. But the dial is just. Can you see on this screen? If you focus on it.
Zach Bowman
Wait, wait, standby.
Matt Farah
Can you focus?
Zach Bowman
Stay there, stay there. Hang on, hang on.
Matt Farah
Zach Omega, the focus.
Zach Bowman
I know, but wait, solo, you might. There you go.
Matt Farah
There it is.
Zach Bowman
Look at that.
Matt Farah
Yeah, the waves.
Zach Bowman
It looks like there's an ocean in the watch. Like the waves, they're textured. It's not like printed. It looks three dimensional. It's really cool.
Matt Farah
But it's also vignetted, so it Looks like you're looking through a telescope, like into a little at a sunset.
Zach Bowman
The darkening on the outside.
Matt Farah
Yeah, it's fucking dope. So thank you, Grand Seiko. Very kind.
Zach Bowman
Yeah.
Matt Farah
It's unclear what I actually have to do.
Zach Bowman
You'll find out later.
Matt Farah
I'm sure you'll get flown to a
Zach Bowman
black site and they'll be like, here's what we need.
Matt Farah
Yeah. All of a sudden, I'm gonna be like, Mr. Wonderful's data center. No, he was a speaker at a thing at a Grand Seiko thing I was at. But I'm super stoked. And do you see this? It has. For you gun people. It has a safety.
Zach Bowman
What?
Matt Farah
So that. Look, it's got a locking clasp. So I do this and I put the safety.
Zach Bowman
Oh, my God. When you turn off, it's red.
Matt Farah
It doesn't come off. Isn't that awesome?
Zach Bowman
When you move the safety out of the way. Oh, it's red.
Matt Farah
It's red like a gun. It's just like my 12 gauge. Isn't that cool?
Zach Bowman
That's funny.
Matt Farah
That's fun. I've been wearing this thing for five days straight. It's great. It's a perfect watch for when you just want to live your life and not think about wearing a watch. And then you look down, you go, ooh, look at that dial.
Zach Bowman
Because it's light. So you don't think about the weight of the Rolex.
Matt Farah
Yeah. You're just not thinking about it.
Zach Bowman
The other company that we can't talk about.
Matt Farah
No, it's like, it's very nice and very luxurious, but it's not a brand or a model that everybody knows, so you don't have to be self conscious about it or what it says about you. And. And it's titanium, so if you knock it into stuff, it's gonna be strong. I've been trying to get it scratched on something. So far unsuccessful. Sounds like a car is being unloaded off a transport.
Zach Bowman
If you try skateboarding, that'll probably.
Matt Farah
I checked the fucking transmission fluid in the Manx while wearing it and stuck my hand. God damn. Damn it. Stuck my hand all in the. Do we have paper towel in here? Nope. Shit. Let me get one. Sorry. Those are the things that happened since we last talked.
Zach Bowman
Nice. Victory with Manx. That's awesome.
Matt Farah
Victory with Manx. I know. How exciting is that?
Zach Bowman
Can it, Wheelie. I feel like no.
Matt Farah
People keep asking that, but you'd have to. Do you know the amount of, like, friction it takes to. Or grip it takes to turn to go past Burnout and get to wheelie like it's so much the sport cup twos. You need to have vht, you need to have slicks and VHT and a powertrain that you were pretty certain wouldn't.
Zach Bowman
That's true. You know my buddy used to auto when he worked at the Volks cafe. They used to run a dune buggy and autocross with a built engine and slicks and it would wheelie off the line.
Matt Farah
Yeah.
Zach Bowman
Which is insane for autocross. I mean it was like a brief one but still autocross is like turn, turn, turn, turn, turn. And you know your front wheels are off the ground for a moment.
Matt Farah
Yeah. I mean it, you'd need, you would definitely need slicks at a minimum. I'm sure I could do a nice burnout with these fucking whatever these, you know, all season y tires are that I have.
Zach Bowman
What if I stand on the engine when you floor it? Then could we like. I mean like, like an atv but we'll do a. I'll help you out there. It'll be like how do you think
Matt Farah
that's gonna go for your back? And it's gonna go well.
Zach Bowman
I think insurance will deny my claims and they'll be justified. Did you stand on a car to make it do a wheelie as a 43 year old man?
Matt Farah
Are these your meta glasses? Let's go to the people before we do. Of course before we do I gotta plug, plug a couple pluggables. August 20th is the end of our Porsche 911 Turbo S giveaway. Get your entries in. We've got a couple more bits of content coming out about that car. It is a very, very, very fast and very well equipped, essentially brand new 911 Turbo S. It was brand new when we got it and we put a few miles on it. We did some mods to it with the help of some of my friends at BBI Autosport and HRE Wheels&M Engineering. And this is a serious of a $275,000 Porsche 911 Turbo S 2025 non hybrid car. And you can get the link in the description, the show notes, whatever you call it. Or it's on our social media, our link in bio and our Instagram. So get those entries in because this game ends in less than a month. And then we hopefully are going to do another car after that because it's been a lot of fun. And of course I'm wearing our collab blazer that we did. Grotto. These are incredibly beautiful garments. Zach did one too. They're both up on the website for purchase until August 6th. They are made to last. They come in every size available in the us we can ship to Canada, we can actually ship pretty much anywhere internationally that's not like sanctioned. So we can ship to Europe, we can ship, ship to Canada, we can ship to Australia. So if you want one and you're international, I helped design this one. Zach designed his and it's a comfortable and beautifully made garment that's got the detachable hood and mine is really soft and warm. Zach is really light and breezy. It's like a summer, winter kind of thing. But I've been wearing the shit out of mine. In fact, after the show it's got to go to the dry cleaner because it has been worn a lot. But yeah, we're only selling them for another week and a half so until August 6th. And we've got the link in our bio there actually. And also because I got an email about it. If you go to thesmokentyre.com and you click on merch for the time being, it goes straight to the blazers. So that's the easy one. If you want to get them in. We've had a bunch of takers on them and I think these folks are going to be super, super happy with what they get. So if we do well, we can make more and if not, that's okay, we'll make more different things, but I think once these folks try them on, they're going to be badass. And you can tailor them a full size, either direction from any size. So that's what's nice about them. All right, now, questions from the people@patreon.com thespokentowerpodcast it's where the folks can ask us these questions for the show, listen to the live stream and watch the livestream, get the show the day it's recorded and not wait, get the show without ads. Get extra show and a whole lot more. And what do those people have to say? Front wheel drive. NSX says beyond the G body. Chevy, did any decent American cars come out in the 80s? I couldn't think of anything beyond G bodies. Now listen, my friend, the G body is your opinion of what a good car is. The G body is not of a higher or lesser quality than any of them other fucking cars.
Zach Bowman
Very true. The G body, the Cadillacs, all of
Matt Farah
them shirts are built. The Cimarron, the fucking Cavalier, the Pontiac Sunbird, they're built to an identical fucking standard, right? So do you like the G body? Why because the grand national, okay, fine, it's got a turbo in it, but like, that's not a good car.
Zach Bowman
Or the SS sounded good, but like it's a good looking, boxy car, in my opinion. That's why I like them. But I would agree that because you also got IROC Camaro 80s, right?
Matt Farah
Yeah.
Zach Bowman
Fox body came out in what year?
Matt Farah
I mean, you can't say the G body is a good car from the 80s and not say the Fox body is a good car from the 80s. It was built during every single year of the 80s. 79 to 93. I mean, you can argue one way or the other. But the C4ZR1, the ZR1 is an excellent car.
Zach Bowman
That is a good car.
Matt Farah
This is Corvette ZR1, excellent fucking car. And if you don't like the idea of Fox bodies, how about you give me saline Fox bodies? How about that?
Zach Bowman
When did that McLaren Fox body come out that Derek has?
Matt Farah
Oh, the ASC McLaren. Yeah. That's 83. Yeah. Early, early. Let's see the Dodge Omni GLHS. Because it goes like hell some O
Zach Bowman
sometimes what small things came out.
Matt Farah
I mean, the 80s isn't a great car. A great year for American cars. A great decade.
Zach Bowman
We know that the engines especially even like, like, even the sports cars, ZR1 aside, were slow because of oil crisis and stuff that was waning there, figuring it out. But that's when you had big displacement, no power.
Matt Farah
The 80s is when Germany was still building cars that were built to last a thousand years. And the Japanese were building cars that were light and tight and agile and efficient. And efficient and really put together nicely. And we were just so far behind on both of those things.
Zach Bowman
Yeah, we were literally lazy, right?
Matt Farah
Yeah, we were so fucking lazy.
Zach Bowman
When was the Lamay's era?
Matt Farah
The Malaise era, did you say? La Mays?
Zach Bowman
Yeah. What do you say?
Matt Farah
Malaise.
Zach Bowman
Malaise. Oh, right.
Matt Farah
Lamaze is the car museum and then
Zach Bowman
Lamaze is the breathing. Yeah, the malaise. You know, there's a lazy time.
Matt Farah
Yeah, that's the post fuel crisis, the late 70s, where it's just big displacement, no power. The 80s, we brought the displacement down, but the power didn't go up for a while.
Zach Bowman
But they were starting to figure things out. But it was primary school essentially by
Matt Farah
the 90s we started to have some good stuff.
Zach Bowman
Yep, definitely.
Matt Farah
Yeah. But we did not have great, great stuff in the 80s, admittedly. But you can't be like, it was only the G body. Like, come on, homie, they're just cool Huh?
Zach Bowman
I said they were just cool.
Matt Farah
They're cool.
Zach Bowman
Yeah, exactly.
Matt Farah
Yeah. Slam the door on one of them motherfuckers and tell me it's good. Come on.
Zach Bowman
It's got its own echo.
Matt Farah
Come on, Johnny. Ev Gierberman, either you drive a V8 CLK? Is that. Which one is that? The C208. What is a C208? I don't know. The Mercedes. Oh, yeah. I've driven the 430 with the manual swap.
Zach Bowman
I've driven the 55.
Matt Farah
Yeah?
Zach Bowman
Yeah. Old roommate had one of them. It broke all the time, but they're fine.
Matt Farah
I. I think the, the original one, the 430 Sport, like that red one on the top left. That's an incredibly handsome car, isn't it?
Zach Bowman
Yeah.
Matt Farah
And the one I drove that had a manual swap. Honestly, game changer. Totally different. Different animal. Really nice.
Zach Bowman
Seems like a good long distance car. I never drove one in anger, so I don't know how it compared to M3, but I think it wouldn't.
Matt Farah
Oh, no, it wouldn't. It wouldn't. But it was a nice car at the time. Now I think you could probably get a fucking CL for the same price. They probably bought them out at exactly the same price. Christian says. With 911s being so expensive, do you think the 718 GTS and Spyders are undervalued? They're NA and well under 150k feel like they should be higher. That's an argument.
Zach Bowman
First of all, Christian, shut up. We do not want to push these over $150,000.
Matt Farah
Yeah, I mean, it's nice if you're already invested in one. You know, it's interesting. I think there's probably an argument to be made that those cars are a little undervalued. However, there's also like a pretty big brand gap perception to the 911 and there isn't a comp because it's like they killed the 718 and then raised the price of the newest 911s. You know, I don't think that's made the older 911s like jump. It just made them like, hold. Like if you bought a fucking992 brand new in like 2020, it would have cost you like $0. It's amazing and kind of stupid, actually.
Zach Bowman
But I think, you know, the 911 has always been an aspirational car. And so even if someone gets a996, they're still riding that wave of cachet, you know, that started 50 years before or whatever. But with the 718s and stuff, it was always seen for a long time as the less than. You know, there was plenty of stupid insults about it. Basically the Miata of Porsche and now we go, this is a great driving car. They perform awesome. I think they look really cool. But they still don't have the size of the market that's excited to own a 911 is so much bigger than the market that wants to own a 718.
Matt Farah
I agree. And they're also like my car. The sticker on my car, forget the demand motor was like 122 or something. If a car is going to go for over, it's got to be new car hype. New car hype is going to have it over msrp, then it's going to go under msrp, hopefully going down slowly for a while till it eventually sort of finds a floor and then hopefully maybe starts to go back up a little bit. These cars are not new enough to have hype behind them and not old enough to be on the way back up yet. Not enough time has passed. So even if you like a good example of a very special car like a 997 GT3RS, those did go. They had hype and then they did go down and for a minute you could get one for under 200,000 and then they settled there for a little bit before returning back up. So even a car like that, these cars, spyders and GTSs are not limited production cars. So they're going to go down probably very slowly. Particularly manuals. They're known for strong resale. I mean even a very old spider was probably 100 grand or 90 grand new. Like a Boxster Spider was like 90 something new. It's probably still 60 or 70,
Zach Bowman
but
Matt Farah
it's gonna be a while. Glorified G wagon. Great. Would you consider doing a dirt bike race? Fuck no.
Zach Bowman
Nope.
Matt Farah
No.
Zach Bowman
Nope.
Matt Farah
I might consider if I was invited doing one of those Sierra cars races like one of those
Zach Bowman
depending on the track. Yeah, for sure. Like a dirt race with minimal jumps or all the suspension travel in the world. Like short truck race would be cool, but dirt bike? Hell no.
Matt Farah
Yeah. Once a tech, now a teacher, recently purchased a first gen Honda Civic. Are there old commuter cars either of you would be interested in driving or always liked?
Zach Bowman
First gen Rabbit. I drove one. I drove one of VW's museum cars once and I was like, oh, it was like driving a 356. I went, oh, I get it. I see where it all came from super fun. Really cool.
Matt Farah
Yeah, Yeah. I mean, I don't know how old you want to go, but like I would love to have a 99 Civic Si. That's not like a sports car to me. That's like, that's like, like, you know, that's a commuter car. It's just a nice engaging one.
Zach Bowman
GM EV one. How old do you want to go?
Matt Farah
I really liked.
Zach Bowman
Well, oh, I mean a little bit recency bias because of Jethro's article, but like Citroen ds. Oh sure, that's a commuter car, but I have always thought they were cool. A friend had one in high school and I just think if you could get them working really well, that would be a fun little spaceship to drive around. Yeah.
Matt Farah
Usually the version of any car I like is usually the sporty version. So it's hard to call that just a regular commuter car I always liked. So back when I was working at a car dealership, we had as a runaround car a Lincoln Mark VIII that we took in on trade that I really enjoyed driving around. Yeah, it had like the 32 valve V8. It had a smooth automatic gearbox and I'm pretty sure it had air suspension.
Zach Bowman
I think it did.
Matt Farah
And it had like amazing seats and it was kind of amazing. And I was like, man, you could put like set of cool wheels on this, this would be pretty cool.
Zach Bowman
They're like a cooler Riata. You know when I'm looking at like the design language is similar. Yeah. But yeah, I think they were kind quick. Didn't our way drive one back in the day? I think Dan had one.
Matt Farah
Really?
Zach Bowman
We moved in with him. Yeah. They're kind of tough.
Matt Farah
Yeah. Pearl Love, Bone of the Mad Green Dog says, do you both genuinely like the 1511? The fact it's a RE. I think it's conflating two things.
Zach Bowman
That other car started with an S.
Matt Farah
The thing that was on Spike's show that I saw it does not look good. The 1511 is not a rebodied boxer. We drove that with our friend nat Mundy of HK Motor Cars. And it's a 914 that has a carbon body, but it is a 914. It's not a Boxster.
Zach Bowman
No. We opened the Frunk and if it was a boxer you would have seen the plastic and the structure. And this was a 914 with some extra really clever buttressing a lot of material to increase the stiffness a lot. But no, it has a water cooled
Matt Farah
engine and that water cool engine may be Sourced from a Boxster. But it's not. That's a powertrain swap. That's a different thing. There was this weird thing that was being shown around LA like a month ago. That was a replica 356 but on a Boxster with a Boxster interior and it looked all kinds of stupid.
Zach Bowman
Yeah.
Matt Farah
It was brutally bad.
Zach Bowman
I don't know. So west coast customs built one in 2017. 356 body on a Boxster. But then the one we are talking about, where did it go?
Matt Farah
It was. This was.
Zach Bowman
It looked really awful strange. Yeah.
Matt Farah
Which I agree is it was as egregious as those C1 bodied Corvettes. Like that's totally the same thing where the proportions are all wrong and you have to stretch, shit or tuck stuff in weird ways to fit the modern thing. The 1511 was, you know, the one we drove was the original prototype. So it was a little scruffy around the edges, but as a concept I thought it was fucking bitchin'.
Zach Bowman
Yep. I mean it was real fun.
Matt Farah
It was tight and it was light and it had torque for fucking days. It was stupidly fast.
Zach Bowman
Shifting was great. Steering was great.
Matt Farah
Yeah.
Zach Bowman
Suspension setup was awesome.
Matt Farah
The fact that it was a water cooled engine I thought was.
Zach Bowman
Was.
Matt Farah
It was great. It was an excellent execution. It was just. It needed a little further refinement and development driving and just a few things here and there. But like that was a nasty little fucker, that car. That was a good time.
Zach Bowman
You would surprise. I mean the thing was fast.
Matt Farah
It was really, really fast.
Zach Bowman
You surprised a lot of people. Yeah.
Matt Farah
And we drove it back to back with the Chimera and you know, compared to the Chimera, it's incredibly refined and smooth.
Zach Bowman
Sure.
Matt Farah
You know, and. And luxurious.
Zach Bowman
Well, it's a road car that's been just turned up and kind of brought to modern like engineering and chassis and power. Chimera is like, you know, based on a rally car that was compound charged. So all right there and then it's like. But now it's made even faster. So it's much more of a science experiment.
Matt Farah
Yeah. No, the Chimera is fencing with chainsaws.
Zach Bowman
Yeah. You know the car we're talking about was made by Stark.
Matt Farah
Stark.
Zach Bowman
Stark. That's it. Yeah.
Matt Farah
I'm the reason her hubastank says, what are some of the best toys, structures or accessories you've gotten for your cats? Mmm. So you know, cat towers. I only buy the good cat towers. Like they're not. They don't have to be that fancy. But you gotta get the cat towers that are made of solid wood, not the ones that are made of like cardboard or like press board. They will come apart like, they're just shitty. So it's maybe 30% more expensive for the solid wood ones. They last four times as long, trust me on that one. There's these toys called Go Cat which are like feather toys and wand toys. I mean, you got it. The most important thing you can do with your cat other than its basic food and litter needs, is play with your cat. People, I think underestimate the rewards that you will have with your animal. If you actually active, not just give them a toy, but like the wand toy and make them chase stuff and actively play with them like you would with a dog. You will have much better energy flow throughout the day with them. They'll sleep when you want them to sleep, they'll be awake when you want them to be awake. They'll eat at the right time and they'll be much more engaged with you as their parent. So playing with your cat. Go Cat. I'm not trying to lecture you, I'm sure you already do. But Go Cat makes these great wand toys. And there's one called Da bird that is a feather thing and my cats go batshit for that. If you wanna go hardcore. And there's a natural pet store somewhere. My cats buy these fetal mice.
Zach Bowman
Oh yeah. Finely fed snakes.
Matt Farah
Oh my God. They go crazy for these fetal mice and they munch motherfuckers down like crazy. I mean, I built my cats a catio and so if you've got room for that, you want to spoil them. A catio is the ultimate in cat luxury. I think. We have a lot of cat trees, we have a lot of wand toys and then oh, oh, these things called chicken littles that are freeze dried cubes of chicken. They munch the fuck out of them things. It's a good little appetizer if they don't love the flavor of a particular food. Because I have about 10 flavors of food I rotate through. Every meal is a different flavor, so they're always interested. But if one of them isn't feeling that, I'll sprinkle some of this as an appetizer on top and they'll just fucking munch away. So that's really nice. People get kind of when they realize how often I feed my cats three meals a day. People think I'm really weird, but I do. To Marion's bell boner. Do you ever miss your C5 or Fox body? I miss the Fox body, but not like enough like I miss it. Kind of like it would be nice to have. But every time I then tell myself when I had the fox body, I would have killed to have the shit that I actually have now. So, like we don't need to go backwards.
Zach Bowman
Rose colored glasses being what they are.
Matt Farah
Excuse me. Demerit Parkway co worker and I were debating the Grand Seiko spring drive movement. I think it's the best of both worlds, but he thinks it's the worst of both mechanical and quartz.
Zach Bowman
Okay, I'll take this one.
Matt Farah
Well, so the thing is, those are pretty polar opposites and it leaves a lot of gray area in which the truth probably lives. So a Grand Seiko spring drive movement, unlike a regular mechanical movement, a regular mechanical movement, you wind it up, it has a coiled spring that slowly unwinds and there's a thing called an escapement. The bit that goes tick tock, tick tock, tick tock, tick tock. That regulates how long a second and therefore a minute and an hour are and how much the spring unwinds. Okay? A spring drive Sako movement is sort of like a, a hybrid car, but a hybrid car that cannot be plugged in. So no electricity ever comes in from the outside. Whatever electricity is there is generated from driving the car with the gas engine. So that's your main spring is a mechanical spring. Now imagine that your hybrid car doesn't have brakes, okay? It doesn't have disc brakes like a regular car. All it has is regenerative brakes, okay? It only has that kind of braking. And that regenerative braking's job is to do the tick tocking. But it doesn't need to do the tick tock because it has that tiny little circuit there and it has a regenerative brake. And that tiny little circuit as it's being powered by the spring with the electromagnetic power, it tells the regenerative brake constantly, constantly updating how long a second is. So like a little less, a little more. A little less, a little more, a little less, a little more right on. A little less, a little more. Electronically telling it how much to regenerative brake. Okay, so there is no TikTok. So as you look at that the Grand Seiko hand, it's a smooth sweep. It doesn't tick because it's just a regenerative brake. Okay? In the. Now you can clearly see there's a, in this image there's a, the mechanical, the big, big plate looking thing on the left that's called the main spring. So inside that is the wound spring. There's your mechanical power. You can clearly see a gear train that drives the, the hands from the mechanical power. And you can see. Well, you can't really see it because it's underneath. Underneath where the little break. Oh, you can kind of underneath the Right, yeah, underneath. Sort of there in that wheel. Underneath. That is where your. Sorry, underneath this. I'm sorry, the silver one on the top left. That is where your electro brake is under there. The result is in the case of the watch I'm wearing, which is called the ultra fine adjusted movement, this is the most accurate mechanically driven watch movement ever made. So it is substantially more accurate than regular mechanical movements. And it is driven by a mainspring, a coiled spring, and its output goes through a gear. So it's basically like there are some people who go, well, there's a circuit in there and therefore that's not a mechanical movement. Okay, that's fine. They can think that there are some other people that go just like a hybrid car and go, well, that's clearly something that's powered by gasoline. It's clearly a machine. But it has this regulatory electronic device in there that makes the gasoline engine more optimized, better burning, more efficient, smoother, all those things. So that's the difference between a spring drive movement and a gas. A regular mechanical movement.
Zach Bowman
So do some people dislike that? It's if someone doesn't like it because it's not a quartz. Because quartz is simpler and has all the precision you want.
Matt Farah
Sure.
Zach Bowman
And then if you go mechanical, it's just more romantic and interesting. And this is like, oh, this is this weird blend of the two of them and it's not quote as good.
Matt Farah
Johnny Lieberman. Johnny Lieberman doesn't like hybrids came to mind.
Zach Bowman
Yeah, for sure.
Matt Farah
Yeah. Johnny Lieberman.
Zach Bowman
You have a good gas engine or a good ev.
Matt Farah
Sure, sure, that's okay. But the stakes are low as fuck in terms of a watch, dude. So like, you know what I mean? So I happen to think that watch movements are interesting and interesting watch movements are interesting. And so people that are really into watches are so rarely choosing one watch that's gotta be the best. So if you think it's. I understand if you think it's the best of both worlds and I understand if you think it's not a mechanical watch. I have absolutely no evidence that it is the worst of all worlds. It's not more service intensive than a mechanical watch. It's not substantially less accurate than a quartz watch. You have the vibe of a mechanical watch because you wind it and the movement of your wrist keeps it wound indefinitely. I don't understand the perspective of being the worst of all worlds. If you think it's the best, cool. And if you go, oh, that's interesting, but it's not for me because I like pure machinery. Okay, that's cool. But I've never heard the. Well, it's the worst of both. Get the fuck out of here, dude. The worst of Quartz is having to change batteries. That's the worst of Quartz is that the battery has a defined life and then you have to go to a guy or gal or a non binary watchmaker to have it changed. That's fucking annoying. My Grand Seiko Quartz I had to send back to Japan. That's annoying. I would say that's the worst of quartz. That's crazy. And you don't have to do that here. So weird question, but I hope now you understand how spring drive works. Okay, Explorer. I hardly knew her, wrote so many fucking words in this question. But the tldr is that my elderly long uncle plans to leave me his one owner 1999 Corolla manual I like the car. What should I do with it? Radwood2zz swap race it. What do you want to do with it? I mean, there's a couple of options. If you like the car, keep the car. That's good. And the good news is with a car like that, there is. And if it's in decent condition, you'll be able to get out of that car in two hours. On Facebook Marketplace. If you ever decide you're in a bind or don't want it, what would you. I mean, I know, look, I just inherited a car. Not inherited. They're still alive. But was given a free car. And the car is worth five grand. And I'm putting $60,000 into it to turn it into something that I actually want. Do you want to do that?
Zach Bowman
I think that's a great question. I mean, I get this person has a lot of fond memories with the car. It's sentimental value. They've driven it a bit, they like it, it runs well, blah, blah, blah, blah. But do you, do you want a project of like putting a 2zz swap in it? I wouldn't swap it because at the end of the day it's like. I think the sentimental value comes from it just being the way it was when your uncle had it. So I would drive it for a little bit bit, take it to Radwood and then just decide, do I want a base like simple commuter that makes me feel warm and fuzzy because it's a family heirloom or do I not need it anymore? And it's fine to just have those memories and have that time with it and then move on and sell it.
Matt Farah
Yeah. I mean, it's also okay to say I was given this car. It means something to me and I'm going to turn it into something fun.
Zach Bowman
Sure.
Matt Farah
Like if I'm your uncle and I give you a car and you motor swap it or turn it into a track car or take it racing, I'd be like, at least he's having a good time.
Zach Bowman
True. You could lemons race. It probably worked forever.
Matt Farah
Yeah. I mean, so it could serve a variety of needs. It could be quick cash. It could be fun project. It could be relatively low maintenance commuter car. It could be a reminder of your uncle. It could be anything.
Zach Bowman
I would say we can't decide for you, but I would start small. And you can always add more project. So just start like this person said, restore it a little bit, take it to Radwood and then drive it and then decide slowly. Don't. Just don't. Don't go. These guys said I should make a, you know, V8, swap it. So that's what I'm doing.
Matt Farah
Yeah. Quadrifoglioface. Worst in cabin Spill. I mean, I know an obvious one. I got two obvious ones.
Zach Bowman
Worst in cabin, having whipped cream sprayed on my windshield in college. It then melted and went down into the cabin air filter intake. And. And despite washing the car, the car smelled like gently of old spoiled cream for six months.
Matt Farah
That's terrible. Yeah.
Zach Bowman
Yeah.
Matt Farah
I spilled a couple of ounces of old differential fluid in the back of my. What was brand new Honda Odyssey. And I had to have the entire interior replaced. Not like, no, no. We took the seats out. I had to have all of the carpet in the interior replaced. It was not cleanable.
Zach Bowman
Yeah. Still smelled a little. It still. It seeped into the metal.
Matt Farah
It was so fucked up. And then of course, you know, the car that was totaled from the seafood chowder. But that's a different story for a different day. Nothing, man. Just a brain of J turns. Good entry level. EVs are getting cheap pick for a used EV toaster under 20k. I mean, I really had a great experience with a Mach E, my friend.
Zach Bowman
I had that Mach E in Colorado. One of my friends bought one. It had 17,000 miles on it. Used 24 grand in Washington and they love it. Like, you can scoop those for basically $20,000.
Matt Farah
And they're very well made.
Zach Bowman
My favorite budget EV. Yeah.
Matt Farah
My brother in law is getting ready to sell his Bronco that he's had for since the first year the Bronco came out and he was like, I think I'm gonna go electric. And I was like, machi Rally. Mach E Rally. And he found a lightly used one like 8 or 9,000 miles in a good color 40k. And I was like, that's your car? Yeah, that's your car right there.
Zach Bowman
So fun.
Matt Farah
Yeah. So I'm on team Mach E. Otherwise I like an Ioniq 5 Kia EV6 we talked about.
Zach Bowman
That's probably not 20 maybe.
Matt Farah
Yeah, probably. I bet you not a GT, but I bet you I bet you a regular one. Duffel Shuffle Retirement Club. Is the C8 a performance bargain? If so, do you think companies like Porsche are seeing hits to their bottom line or am I totally wrong and people aren't ever cross shopping the three? I think they're cross shopping Porsche with ZR1s and maybe Z06s.
Zach Bowman
Yeah.
Matt Farah
Ferrari. They are not Ferrari.
Zach Bowman
They're not. Yeah. But I think the C8 has brought in more younger buyers to the Corvette brand than any of the previous generations. So I think that tells me that younger people are less brand loyal. So they're probably taking more shoppers away from other stuff.
Matt Farah
I think that's probably true. I don't think Porsche or Ferrari is having trouble selling their core product to their core audience at all. Of course the Corvette is a performance bargain. Every variant of Corvette competes with cars that are anywhere from 100 to 200 or 300% more expensive. But the fact that it is considered a performance bargain. Would be like a point against for Ferrari or Porsche. You know what I mean? Ferraris and Porsches being. Being expensive is sort of the thing. If people start seeing them as values, they will lose a big part of what they want their brand to be. Porsche doesn't care if you don't think their cars are a good value like the sports cars. They know you're cross shopping a macan against some other shit. But if you want a GT3, their fucking tagline is there is no substitute.
Zach Bowman
And they're like, hey, we're still na. We're making less power than any of the things that are competing with us price wise and they can't sell enough of it.
Matt Farah
And $400,000 please. The new Honda Prolapse EV. Honda Prolapse is pretty funny. Do you think that word ended up in a jumble of P words that some branding company was working On. All right, guys, we got a new five seat EV crossover coming out. You know the naming scheme, it's gotta be a picture. What do we got? And they just start throwing words out. I'm sure it did before they got to prolapse.
Zach Bowman
I hate that. I know what that word means.
Matt Farah
Just put an LSD in my car and the difference was instant and awesome. Makes me wonder why more sports and sporty cars don't have it as standard cost. It's funny, I put an LSD under my tongue and the difference was instant and awesome. Yeah. Cost probably. Fuel efficiency, some complexity. Yeah.
Zach Bowman
And most people don't notice or care if they're not sporty drivers or you're not. I mean, I know there's a lot of uses for it off roading and stuff, but if you are just driving down the road in a climate that has no real inclement weather, simple is better. Cheaper is going to be better for you and the company. So that's what they go with.
Matt Farah
I don't think base911s have a limited slip diff. I think the base Carrera, the T gets it, but not the bass. With PDK has a fucking open diff and people buy them. You have to be. Not a great driver, but you have to be in touch with your machine and able to do a pretty decent baseline level of dynamic driving before you even really know what you don't have without ls.
Zach Bowman
Or you get stuck in the mud.
Matt Farah
Or if you get stuck in the mud in Alabama. Yeah. Murray, Long last name. You ever try something once successfully, think you can do it again and fail miserably? I was in the pit at Real Big Fish and I thought I could take the pit at Papa Roach and I was wrong. Yo, shout out to our boy. Holy Jerry Horton. Jesus. Sorry. Jerry. Jerry Horton, the guitar player for Papa Roach, who is a friend of the program, friend of the show, and is a fucking talented guitar player. Also today's Jacoby Shadix's birthday. If you knew that he's the singer for Papa Roach.
Zach Bowman
Oh, cool.
Matt Farah
They put on a fucking show, dude. Next time they come to town, we'll go see him. You should come.
Zach Bowman
I've never seen them.
Matt Farah
They, you know, they've fucking got it live. They've got the good energy. They've got more songs that you remember than you remember, Right.
Zach Bowman
More than the Tony Hawk soundtrack.
Matt Farah
Yeah, yeah, yeah. They've got good energy live. I really enjoyed seeing, seeing Jerry and Papa Roach and I talk to Jerry about cars all the time. GT3 driver, man of taste. Yeah, we gotta see him next time they're in la. Yeah, the Pit. I'm too old for the Pit. Sorry.
Zach Bowman
I stand and nod and I look. At last time, I went to a heavy show with Corey. I was watching. I was like, do I want to go in there? Am I feeling the internal energy? I was like, nah, I don't need to fight people and not fight, but you know what I mean? Like, I don't need to get that out anymore.
Matt Farah
Zach and I went to 311 and Jones Beach Theater in New York, and it was a whole bunch of people that used to be in the pit and now are not anymore.
Zach Bowman
100%. It was people that used to be in the pit and people used to sit on people's shoulders and flash through. And all of us stood there and had a real good time.
Matt Farah
Shout out to Hannah's cousin Adam, definitely, who is the GM of Jones Beach Theater and took very good care of us. Okay, last two. Elle McPherson strutting around. Why do you think there isn't more car sales price transparency outside of auctions like there is for real estate? Boy, is that a fucking loaded question. Given what's been going on with auctions. Cars are more commoditized than real estate, but have no market price like a stock or commodity. It's hard to know what a car is really worth, aside from auctions, which have limited visibility and buyer pools. I suspect dealers wouldn't like full transparency, but that's a shitty reason to not have it. It's because dealers need to make money. There's a regular attempt by legislators to get more transparency, and then the dealership lobby always fights it and they win some small victories, but there really isn't any, you know, I mean, there are laws on transparency, but if what you're talking about is the value of the market value of a car, like what a car is worth, it's hard to know that because it's your car, your car, your miles, the condition is different. Specific combinations of options are always different. It's definitely possible. If you take a Kelley Blue Book, a publicly available tool, and you subtract 15% off what it says, says that's what it's worth, like to a dealer or something. That's all you have to do, bring a trailer. And cars and bids and other auctions are harder, especially given if the car is rarer and or more special, because there's more likely to be shenanigans. But if the car is a fairly normal car, where there's not likely to be shenanigans and market fixing. Then you can use use the valuation tools on Bring a Trailer the Past Sales. Or there's the Haggerty Cars that Matter Price guide. That's a good place to start. But like, yeah, dealers don't want transparency. They want to take your money. Yeah, it's on you to learn how to fucking do that. I don't actually know the. Do you know that one?
Zach Bowman
Nope.
Matt Farah
Rich guy crossing the mustard. The answer to your question is no. I'm sorry. I'll always be here for Matt's cats. We'll end on this one. You always talk about how speed doesn't cut it for you anymore and you need to find increasingly weird stuff like the Manx to scratch the enthusiast itch. I took a page out of your book. I sold my G70 and got a ural gear up. Is that the sidecar thing? Can you look up a ural gear up? I'm pretty sure this is a Russian. I think it's a Russian sidecar motorcycle.
Zach Bowman
Our friends Zach Bowman and Sam Smith once rode this together from Seattle to Los Angeles. Good for a great painful article.
Matt Farah
I don't know where this thing is made, but this is as far as I recall. This is a sidecar motorcycle that has a. A proper drive shaft connecting the two. Like, I don't really think you disconnect the sidecar. I thought it had a shaft. Doesn't it? Isn't that what that is? It does, yeah.
Zach Bowman
Yeah. That looks like it's got an output shaft coming from the right side of the motorcycle that goes across to the. So basically it's got two wheel drive, right?
Matt Farah
Oh, it says on the back it has a two wheel drive badge on it.
Zach Bowman
A two wheel drive sidecar motorcycle that, you know, could go anywhere. Maybe that World War II needs you to go. They're funky. I see a sidecar person maybe once every two months and they have a dog in the sidecar or a outgoing family member that's down for adventure or has been held hostage has to go in this funny thing. They're funny.
Matt Farah
I absolutely respect your weirdness, sir. I totally respect you doing the weird thing. I have to admit, motorcycling where the bike doesn't lean to me is. I don't get it. But in terms of exiting the rat race and taking a tangent into the world of weird, I'm 100% pro.
Zach Bowman
This is very far into that too. It's got knobby tires. The seat does not look like it's contoured for A human body at all. Look, it's just so flat. But yeah, they do look tough. Yeah.
Matt Farah
I mean, and you look ready to shoot Americans.
Zach Bowman
Yeah, you do. These are in a lot of those movies. And it's not us riding them. We had the willies.
Matt Farah
When you see them in the movies though, this is what they're doing on them. It's all this. It's just a bouncy, bouncy, bouncy, bouncy.
Zach Bowman
That's why you don't hit anything.
Matt Farah
Yeah. Intense.
Zach Bowman
But they are. They're cool.
Matt Farah
But respect the weird on demand two wheel drive. It's got a. It's got a diff. You know, it's got a.
Zach Bowman
You know, it might be a cool adventure to overland this once.
Matt Farah
Yeah.
Zach Bowman
Throw your tent and stuff in the footwell and take some like the BDR road backcountry discovery route. You can do that stuff. Yeah. You can't tip over. So that's nice off roading. You can.
Matt Farah
You think, you think so, huh?
Zach Bowman
I mean, I could, but like. But it's. It's harder to tip over. I should say. Jerry get a jerry can with it. You can get an utility shovel. Like this is what this is.
Matt Farah
Of course you can.
Zach Bowman
Yeah, it's.
Matt Farah
I mean, dude, that, this is. The world needs more people willing to ride like this.
Zach Bowman
Parking this next to a ineos. Like that's how you win that parking lot. Tender to ineos, kind of. Yeah. But also like they're imposters compared to this thing.
Matt Farah
Yeah.
Zach Bowman
If you both go on the same
Matt Farah
trail, you could like tow behind it. No, not tow behind it, tow it behind. You know what I mean? And by the way, you probably could hook up a little trailer to this and tow behind it the littlest trailer for your dog. For your dog.
Zach Bowman
Yeah. And then your.
Matt Farah
Or for your stuff. No, you. Like a teardrop. You could tow a little teardrop trailer with one of these.
Zach Bowman
A little less teardrop.
Matt Farah
Yeah.
Zach Bowman
Guess you got a car, man. What are you doing? And you got two driven wheels, you got three wheels and then you're towing a trailer. So you got a five wheel vehicle that holds nothing.
Matt Farah
Yeah, I saw when I was in. When I was in Washington, I saw a big gang of like 30 or 40 of fat dudes on trikes. Just big fucking trikes. Please, if I ever become unhealthy enough where I can no longer ride on two wheels, can you just insist I hang that fucking hat up?
Zach Bowman
You know, I. I used to have the same opinion 100%. And the other day I was sitting. We were at Kernville, and I watched these like, three Harley people roll in and someone was on a trike. And I saw. I thought, if you've been a motorcycle person for a long time, and that's what you love doing, and so much of it is, like, you get to smell the environment, you hear the sounds like you're out there, and you remove the one thing of, like, lean and park because you. You're, you know, too disabled or whatever to hold a 600 pound motorcycle up. Because everyone else in the group had a hog. Like a huge. Not a. Not a little, you know, Dr. Whatever. And I was like, just have. Just go for it. I get it.
Matt Farah
Yeah, I. I'm. I'm standing by fine.
Zach Bowman
That's totally fine.
Matt Farah
Telling me to hang it up.
Zach Bowman
Yeah.
Matt Farah
The Manx is.
Zach Bowman
You don't have to choose.
Matt Farah
The Manx is the hog that you sit down in.
Zach Bowman
I think I used to look at them like, what an idiot. And now I understand what they might be doing, but it would not be for me.
Matt Farah
I also understand what they might be doing, and I don't like it. That's our show. Thanks, patrons. We love you very much. Thank you to everyone else for listening. We appreciate y' alls too, just the same. But we'd like you a little more if you were patrons. That's all I'm saying. August 20th for the 911 Turbo S giveaway. Get your orders in for at least our collab blazers, Blazer. What collab blazers? With the Grotto by August 6th. With our link in the bio and all of that stuff. We'll see you soon. Bye.

The show kicks off with a discussion about live podcast events, Matt's scooter trip, and recent press/test drives, but quickly moves into meatier territory: a deep dive on the much-touted but underperforming Tesla Cybertruck, hands-on experiences upgrading and canyon carving a modern Myers Manx, and an extensive Q&A session that’s as much about car culture as it is about personalizing the enthusiast journey. Expect humor, deep-dive analysis, surprising cultural parallels, and a consistently relatable, conversational tone.
Throughout, Matt and Zack lean into their expertise and characteristic banter, blending first-hand experience, deep industry knowledge, and sharp humor. Whether it’s dissecting the market flop of the Cybertruck, feeling out the handling limits of a reimagined dune buggy, or weighing the cultural cachet of an 80s G-body, they keep things accessible and relatable — celebrating automotive weirdness and enthusiast joy over raw speed or badge prestige.
Bottom line:
If you want insight on why the Cybertruck failed, what makes the Manx 2.0 intoxicating, or just want to hear two car guys riff on everything from 1980s malaise to the pros and cons of trike motorcycles, this episode is an entertaining, honest, and knowledge-rich listen.
