Stress is not just “in your head.” It is in your nervous system, your hormones, your immune system, your sleep, your digestion, your blood pressure, your inflammation, and the way your body adapts to daily life.In this episode we dive into the stress-spine connection through the lens of cortisol, the body’s primary stress hormone. Cortisol is governed by the HPA axis and plays a major role in metabolism, immune activity, cardiovascular tone, inflammation, mood, sleep, and how the body responds to stress.A 2024 integrative review published in Cureus explored chiropractic care through a systems biology model, looking at how the nervous system, endocrine system, and immune system communicate with each other.
