Spencer
The following podcast is a Dear Media production. This is so depressing. Like, I can't remember a time where I wasn't being bullied. Grade 4. There was this girl that I thought was my best friend, and then she started an I hate Spencer club.
Tay
Oh, great, you're gonna, like, go to your high school reunion and just like, hell yeah.
Spencer
I'm like, all of you hated me.
Tay
I had an ex boyfriend that told me I had cankles. I literally, to this day, see my ankles as cankles.
Spencer
If you're dating a guy who tells you every single day that you're ugly, that you're worth nothing and you suck, you're gonna think you' ugly and you're worth nothing and you suck. Don't have a little rat in your ear till you have cankles. Literally.
Tay
Ladies, leave him.
Spencer
I always wanted to be confident so badly that I'm like, if I just post about it, maybe I'll believe it's true. Fake it till you make it. I was like working a part time job at Dairy Queen and I was like, this is horrible. I don't want to work in fast food. And I started posting on Tik Tok one day. I just randomly was like, you know what? I'm feeling so insecure. So I just opened up. I'm like, there's no way I'm the only girl in the world that has literally back hair right now. Can someone just admit that you have it too? And I posted a video like that. And then when that went viral, I'm like, hold. This is a whole, like, different world out there. I'm never going back.
Tay
Spencer, welcome to the Squeeze.
Spencer
Thank you.
Tay
I am so excited because I just love watching you on the Internet.
Spencer
Thank you. I love watching you. I'm like, I'm a fan. Oh, my gosh.
Tay
But I'm excited because I feel like a lot of you as a human and your message and everything aligns so much with the podcast and me and everything. So I'm just excited to finally get our little Canadian over here.
Spencer
Yay. And chat. I'm excited.
Tay
Get her here. Okay, so we start each episode off with this jar. It's a game called Citrus Got Real. If you want to pull out a little piece of paper.
Spencer
Okay.
Tay
From there they basically just have question. A random question in there.
Spencer
I feel like this one is speaking to me. Okay, what's your most used app in your phone? Oh, obviously TikTok. I live on TikTok. I literally say I have brain rot because I'm always on TikTok.
Tay
Do you, like, you're also on it when you're not, like, posting?
Spencer
Yeah. Like, I post on it, but I'm always, like, watching it.
Unknown
Yeah.
Spencer
Like, I'm a lover of TikTok.
Tay
Do you feel like you pull inspiration from watching it?
Spencer
For sure. Like, if I don't watch videos, like, I find when I'm watching videos, I can be way more creative.
Unknown
Yeah.
Spencer
Because it's always, like, sparking an idea.
Unknown
Yeah.
Spencer
But, yeah, I'm always on TikTok.
Tay
Sometimes I'll, like, if I'm in the mood to. I don't. I don't really post. I'm trying to post more.
Spencer
Yeah.
Tay
Because I'm, like, I need to, like, actually, like, be alive on the Internet.
Spencer
If you post it, I'll be all over it.
Tay
Oh, my gosh. Thank you. But I've been trying to, like, I'll. I'll be, like, laying down and I'll, like, save a couple, and I'm like, okay, I'm gonna film this. Like, I'll, like, just, like. But it's the same thing. It gets me, like, inspired to start filming and doing stuff, seeing other people's, like, good ideas. I also feel like TikTok is, like, even though there's, like, negatives from it. Like, I feel like it's such a cool place because, like, I can't tell you how many times, like, Instagram is way more like, this is my aesthetic and this is this. But I'll literally, like, pick up and record a TikTok of me. Like, nothing on my face. Like, zit cream. Like, just like.
Spencer
No. Everything feels so, like, serious.
Unknown
Yeah.
Spencer
On Instagram and then on Tick Tock, I'm like, oh, my gosh.
Unknown
Yeah.
Spencer
Why am I talking about that out loud? Like, did I really just say that?
Tay
Like, I just. I feel like it. It brings people together in a sense of, like, Instagram. I feel like the Instagram model and the aesthetic and everything just, like, made it so, like, needing to be perfect.
Spencer
Yeah.
Tay
And Tick Tock is just so laid back.
Spencer
Honestly, I feel like I follow the perfect people on TikTok. That I'm just, like. It's just a positive experience always. Like, every time I go on the app, I never leave being like, oh, my God, Okay. I hate myself today.
Unknown
Yeah.
Spencer
No, that's like, TikTok's just more fun. It's more like, personality.
Tay
That's what you need to do. I have a girlfriend that she. She has struggled with body image stuff in the past, and she will just go and either, like, Commute or block people that, like, are fit models and post stuff. Because she's just like, that. I can't.
Spencer
Yeah. I'm like, I don't mean to, like, offend you, and it's not to be rude, but I have to block.
Unknown
Yeah.
Tay
But I just can't. It's. But no offense to them.
Spencer
Yeah.
Tay
They're not doing anything. You're protecting your own mental health with that. Okay. I learned something about you in research.
Spencer
Okay.
Tay
Which I didn't know, I guess.
Spencer
Oh, my God.
Tay
Watching you act.
Spencer
Yeah.
Tay
I literally had no clue. I was like, you're just this cute little angel on the Internet, but where did that start for you?
Spencer
I started acting when I was younger, so I always loved, like, doing theater. And then my grandpa used to do just, like, background acting and movies and stuff. And I would go to my mom, like, mom, I want to be an actor. Want to be an actor. And then when I was, like, 10 or 11, I got an agent and just started doing, like, commercials and stuff. And then I ended up having my own family channel, like, TV show, and I was one of the characters on it. And then I kind of, like, stopped when I went to high school. And then just recently, I'm like, maybe I need to do a little bit more than TikTok. Maybe I want to get back to it. So I had a show just come out that I'm, like, the host of it.
Tay
Oh, my gosh.
Spencer
So, yeah.
Tay
Wait.
Spencer
It's called Flawed.
Tay
Tell me about it.
Spencer
It's called Flawed, and it's all about, like, I grew up in the era of makeover shows where people, like, put makeup on, change their outfit, and they're like, oh, my God, you're so hot now.
Unknown
Yeah.
Spencer
So I wanted to make a show that was the complete opposite in that, and it had, like, nothing to do with what they look like or what they were wearing, and it was more about, like, how they feel about themselves. So we did a Make under show, and I just, like the host. I get to talk to them about their insecurity, what they think their flaw is. And we just own the flaw. It's really cute.
Tay
Wait, I'm obsessed with this.
Spencer
Thank you.
Tay
That's so cool. I've never even actually thought about, like, makeover shows.
Spencer
Yeah. I even think I'm like, this is just the perfect example is Princess Diaries, when they literally, like, wax her unibrow and take off her glasses, and then they're like, oh, my gosh, she's a princess now. So I just tried to like, make it completely different. Like, for sure. Just want to be opposite.
Tay
I know you kind of mentioned before that you really are no stranger to bullying, and it's Has. Has been something that you've dealt with not just on social media now, but growing up. When did bullying start for you?
Spencer
I literally. This is so depressing. Like, I can't remember a time where I wasn't being bullied ever. Like, from the youngest memory that I have, I just feel like I always got bullied in school for just, like, the stupidest things. I would get bullied for doing acting, because I loved acting. And then I started posting on YouTube, and then I would get bullied for making YouTube videos or when I was, I want to say, like, grade four, there was this girl that I thought was my best friend, and then she started an I hate Spencer club. And I'm like, oh, it's great. And she made everyone in our class sign up. So that's when bullying started. Like, grade four. I feel like I laugh about it because I'm just like, I need to laugh.
Tay
It's. I mean, when you say it, it's like. It's comical.
Spencer
It's comical. Absurd.
Unknown
Yeah.
Spencer
But, like, when you're in grade four, that affected me so much.
Tay
Absolutely.
Spencer
And then I'm like, oh, my gosh, nobody likes me. Who am I gonna be? It's like a. Do I even like me now? Because nobody likes me.
Unknown
Yeah.
Spencer
And then high school, I had a really hard time in grade 10, so I ended up actually switching schools because I'm like, this is. It's like, just not fun to go to school every day and be, like, one. Kind of, like, scared and, like, you feel like you can not be yourself.
Unknown
Yeah.
Spencer
So when I was in grade 11, I switched schools, and then it kind of went to just bullying online. So I'm like, it's just. It's been forever. But I do have to say I'm so. It sounds kind of messed up to say, like, I'm happy it happened, but I feel like I'm me because it happened.
Unknown
Yeah.
Spencer
And now I'm more, like, empathetic to other people's feelings or. Not that I would ever say something mean about somebody, but now I'm definitely like, okay, I would never say that, because I've had that for me, and I don't want to be, like, the negative to anyone.
Unknown
Yeah.
Tay
Well, I also feel like it probably, like, helped give you some thick skin in order to have the job that you have, because being vulnerable and posting yourself on the Internet, you're just like, fully opening yourself up.
Spencer
Yeah. Like, if I didn't grow up hearing those things or being bullied, I feel like reading comments now would affect me so much more than they do.
Unknown
Yeah.
Spencer
And I would just feel so, like, sensitive to it. But I feel like I have such thick skin now.
Unknown
Yeah.
Tay
I was recently thinking about a time when I was bullied in, like, junior high. And I remember I liked this boy who was like, my, like, best guy friend, but I had a crush on him. And this one girl got all of the other girls to stand around me and sing the song. Like, why are you so obsessed with me? Like, sing that song and, like, tease me that I liked him. Like, it's kind of like the same thing. Looking back, I'm like, that's actually, like, insane. Like, I feel like I would watch it on. In, like, on a TV show or something and be like, that would never happen.
Spencer
I'm like, that's not real.
Unknown
Yeah.
Spencer
Like, that's so weird. Yeah, it's.
Tay
It's such a weird thing. But, you know, I. I guess maybe it helps now having this job and.
Spencer
Like, when you're younger, everything feels so much more intense.
Tay
Oh, my gosh.
Spencer
But, like, now if somebody said to me, like, oh, I started I hate Spencer Club, I'd be like, why do you have so much time on your hands?
Unknown
Yeah.
Tay
You're like, sign me up.
Spencer
Honestly, I'm like, you'll get a hobby. Please.
Unknown
Yes.
Spencer
No, truly, do something.
Tay
How do you. How do you deal with bullying and hate comments online? Do you feel like you've had to set a boundary with looking or are you just.
Spencer
Like, sometimes I feel like if I'm at, like, a vulnerable state, like, if I'm in my luteal phase or something and I'm hating myself and I'm reading that, like, it affects me. But any other time I just try and think, like, someone who's genuinely happy wouldn't say something like, mean. You know what I mean? I've never had someone say, hey, Comet to me with a person I'd actually, like, want to trade places with.
Unknown
Yeah.
Spencer
Do you know what I mean? Like, I. I wouldn't want to be a hater online.
Unknown
Yeah.
Spencer
I have never in my entire life commented something mean on someone's post.
Unknown
Yeah.
Spencer
Like, that's never even crossed my mind. And even if you, like, see. Not that I would even see something and, like, be mean towards it, but even if you saw a post you didn't like, like, it is so crazy to me that you actually commented on It. Yeah, like that's insane. So I feel like it doesn't really affect me anymore.
Unknown
Yeah.
Spencer
And like, same thing. Could say thank you to getting bullied when I was younger because now it doesn't affect me.
Unknown

Tay
You start posting your content about like self love and body image?
Spencer
I kind of like always posted. Even when I look back on YouTube videos when I'm in high school I'd be like this is how to be confident. And now when I watch I'm like girl you're so I was so insecure I don't know how I was like giving advice on how to confident but I always wanted to be confident so badly that I'm like if I just post about it maybe I'll believe it's true.
Unknown
Yeah.
Spencer
Do you know what I mean? Fake it till you make it.
Unknown
Yeah.
Spencer
And then when Covid started, I was like working a part time job at Dairy Queen and I was like, this is horrible. I don't want to work in fast food. And I started posting on TikTok and I was actually posting, like, finance videos because that was what I cared about at the time.
Unknown
Oh, wow.
Spencer
I was like 18 years old. Like, I want to save money, I want to learn all this. And I always cared about, like, making money and saving money and budgeting and things like that. So I was posting that and then one day I just randomly was like, you know what? I'm feeling so insecure. I wasn't really going back to school because it was Covid times. And I'm like, maybe I'll never see these people again. So I just opened up like, there's no way I'm the only girl in the world that has literally back hair right now. Can someone just admit that you have it too?
Unknown
Yeah.
Spencer
And I post a video like that. And then when that went viral, I'm like, holy, this is a whole, like, different world out there, honestly. And I truly feel like I learned how to love myself through trying to teach other people how to love themselves and, like, being vulnerable. You know what I mean? Like, just being open. It was so nice to have the feedback from other people that they felt the same way about themselves or they had the same insecurities. And since I started posting like that, I'm like, I'm never going back. It was just my favorite to just get to be me online and not have to, like, put up a Persona or anything like that.
Unknown
Yeah.
Tay
I love what you said about confidence too, because I feel like confidence isn't. You can have confidence, but it's not a trait. It's like, it is a facade. And like, you can be confident if you tell yourself you're confident. You just really, like, have to love yourself. And I think the fake it till you make it is so.
Spencer
I always say being hot is a mindset.
Tay
Yes.
Spencer
Like, if you have the mindset, you're just hot.
Unknown
Yeah.
Spencer
You know, period. Nothing has to change, honestly. Because you can feel when someone walks in the room and they're confident, they love themselves. Like, you can just feel it.
Unknown
Yeah.
Spencer
You know, they don't have to go around and tell everyone, like, oh, I'm so confident. They don't have to act like they're the hottest person in the room or the best person in the room. Like that's not what they want.
Unknown
Yeah.
Spencer
They just want to feel like their best.
Unknown
Yeah.
Spencer
You know, it's not a competition.
Tay
It's so true. How do you, how do you set boundaries with social media? Because I know, like we know your boyfriend, we don't know his name. Like how, how did you set those boundaries of what you want to share and what you don't want to?
Spencer
I feel like I still struggle with that all the time because I'm just such a natural oversharer. Like if you asked me anything, I would just tell you. You know what I mean? That sometimes I'm like, okay, it's so hard to have boundaries because what do I post, what do I not post? What do I say? Like I don't know. I feel like I'm still learning and even though I've been doing this, it feels like I've been doing this for a month, honestly. But it's been like four years now.
Unknown
Yeah.
Spencer
That I'm still trying to figure it out and I'm like looking around asking the people around me like, what am I supposed to do? The only boundary that I feel like I don't post is my boyfriend's name. Just because I'm like, I don't need anyone to like try and google him and go to his job or something like that. Like that's just weird to me.
Unknown
Yeah.
Spencer
And also like you can see my boyfriend. You can like my boyfriend, but you don't need to know his name.
Unknown
Yeah.
Spencer
Like that's the only thing I feel like I don't post about.
Unknown
Yeah.
Spencer
But it's so hard to have boundaries because I want to like share everything.
Unknown
Yeah.
Spencer
But then I'm like, okay, Spencer, you're. I'm allowed to have a life outside of just online for sure.
Tay
How do you set the boundary with turning off your phone and not getting stuck in the brain rot? You're like, I have no clue.
Spencer
I'm like, can you tell me how teach me? Like I'm pretty bad at it honestly. I live alone so I feel like it's so easy to just be on my phone all the time. Cuz I don't have like human connection around me.
Unknown
Yeah.
Spencer
So it's easy to just like even facetime my friends or face to my boyfriend and then I'm on my phone still.
Unknown
Yeah.
Spencer
But I definitely like when I'm reading my comments and it's starting to kind of hit me a little bit or like I'm reading it and actually like double thinking about the comment I'M like, throw your phone at a wall. Like, get rid of it right now.
Unknown
Yeah.
Spencer
Because I don't need this thing that's literally in my hand controlling how I feel about myself or how my day is going to be. You know what I mean?
Unknown
Yeah.
Spencer
Yeah. But I'm pretty. I'm pretty bad at boundaries for that. I have to admit that.
Tay
I feel like I swung. Like, I used to be pretty involved and I would, like, look at comments and respond to people, and then I, like, swung completely the other way. I don't know why. I think I just, like, maybe started seeing some mean comments and I was like, I'm not looking. And so when we started the podcast, people would comment on stuff and be like, hey, Tay, I know you're never going to see this, but I really love this episode because, blah, blah. I was like, okay.
Spencer
I actually, like, like, you're never gonna see.
Tay
I need to put, like, people know that this is a really big boundary. Like, I need to just, like, calm it down a little bit. But it's cool because I feel like I've gone to a point where, again, post, like, I don't. I wouldn't say I'm. I'm of content creator. Like, I do post, but that's not my job. Like, what you and other content creators do. Like, I'm not taking that title because I could never do that.
Spencer
But girl, you post.
Tay
You do it sometimes. Yes, I post on. So that's what I say. I post on social media. But I've gotten to the point where, don't get me wrong, I still sometimes do it, but I'll post because I'll just, like, save a bunch of stuff in my drafts and then I'll just, like, post. So I'm like, oh, I haven't posted in a couple days. Let me just post this. And then I forget. I. I post it and then like, a couple hours later I'll be like, oh, wait, you liked it. How's that tick tock doing? I posted that, like, let me go see, like, what the comments are. So it's cool because I've kind of said I feel like I've set this boundary of I'm just posting this content for me because I had fun filming this video or I did this cute little trend with my friends.
Spencer
Well, that's way better than, like, posting something and just being like, oh, my God, how many views does it have already? How many comments? Like, when you get in that of being like, oh, I hope it's doing good. It's just you have to post it because you like it.
Unknown
Yeah.
Spencer
Not because you want it to do good and, like, not put pressure on it.
Unknown
Yeah.
Tay
That's definitely, like, a big thing I've learned. Or if it gets stuck, if it gets shadow banned.
Spencer
Yeah.
Tay
Deleting it. And does that ever happen to you and you have to like it? Like, it's like 20 views.
Spencer
Yeah. Sometimes I'm like, what's going on?
Tay
I never know what to do. I have friends that are like, delete it and repost it.
Spencer
Like, I honestly just. Just keep going. Because, like, you post things that you like. Every single thing that I post. Like, I had fun doing it.
Unknown
Yeah.
Spencer
If it got 20 views still, even 20. I sometimes think about, like, if I filmed a tick tock and 20 people watched me film it, I would be, like, shaking. I'd be so nervous. I'm like a shy person. So I'm like, in front of 20 people, I'd be scared. But then if I had 20 views or 20,000 views or 20 million views, it's still like, people saw it. You know what I mean? If it impacted one person, then I'm just happy I even posted it.
Unknown
Yeah.
Tay
What's your favorite kind of content to film? Because I know you're kind of like all over all of the social platforms or if they're. I mean, I don't know if it's. If it is TikTok, then, like, what specific. Like, if there's certain videos that you like.
Spencer
I honestly just love everything.
Unknown
Yeah.
Spencer
Like, if you spent a day with me, everything I do, I'm like, oh, my God, this is so much fun. Let's make a TikTok. I'm like, I'm going shopping. Let's make a TikTok. Like, I just genuinely love it so much. I love Get Ready with Me. Because it's like, like I said, I live alone. It feels like I'm sitting there, like, talking to somebody.
Unknown
Yeah.
Spencer
Even if that sounds depressing. Like, I'm talking to my phone, but I'm talking to somebody.
Unknown
It's good.
Spencer
I just. I love that connection, honestly.
Tay
My girlfriend, Anna Sitar, you know who she is from.
Spencer
She's so cute.
Tay
She. You and her are very similar in that.
Spencer
Yeah. I've never met her. I've always wanted to meet her. Like, she's just sunshine.
Tay
She literally.
Spencer
She's so cute.
Tay
She's the best. And I had her on the podcast. I think she was our first season and she left and I was like, I want to, like, do content, like, forever. Like, she was just like the way she talked about it and her love for. And like, we saw some tick tocks after and she was like, she's so good at all the transitions and stuff. So she's like doing all the things that she leaves. And I'm like, I'm so inspired. Like, I feel so happy and so inspired to do content. And I feel like you guys are very similar. Like when you post your stuff, I'm like, I'm actually like, inspired.
Spencer
That's such a compliment. I really, really like her.
Tay
Anna also, she has this cool outlook on trolls and hate comments. She's like, people are just like looking to be involved. Like, they're looking for a place to, you know, give an opinion or to be. But, you know, it's just not a nice opinion. But she's like, people are just like trying to like, be involved and they want to like, be in a group.
Spencer
And why is she so kind? Even a hate comment. I know, like, they're just involved.
Tay
I know. It's like that might.
Spencer
I feel like they're just rude.
Unknown
Yeah.
Tay
It might be a little too, like toxic positivity going on there. But she's. No, she's truly the best. I'm curious what advice you would give to someone that is struggling with self love and body image.
Spencer
I would say to just be really kind to yourself and like, take it day by day, especially at the beginning. Because, like, loving yourself is day by day and it's such a journey. I feel like everyone knows that one day you could wake up being like, oh my God, I'm the most confident. I feel so good about myself. I could go talk to anybody in the world. Like, I'm just so happy. And then the next day I wake up and I'm like, oh, I'm not feeling it today. You know what I mean? You just have to be kind to yourself day by day and not be your biggest bully. Because the things that we say to ourselves, we would never say to anybody else.
Tay
Yeah.
Spencer
I would say unfollow people that make you feel like shit about yourself.
Unknown
Yeah.
Spencer
Like, you don't need to go on Instagram. And even if this girl is. Seems like a nice girl and you follow her, but when you look at her, it just bothers you. You're allowed to just unfollow her. You don't have to be mean to her, you don't have to compare yourself to her, but you're allowed to unfollow people. What you listen to matters the way that the people around you speak about you matters. Like, do you want to be like the people around you? That's what I always think about. And, like, if you're dating a guy who tells you every single day that you're ugly and that you're worth nothing and you suck, like, you're gonna think you're ugly and you're worth nothing and you suck. So who's around you, like, that really, really matters. The people around you impact your confidence more than you know. Because if you have a friend that's like, oh, like, she doesn't want to take a photo with you because you look bad today or something.
Unknown
Yeah.
Spencer
You can't be friends with someone like that. No. Or a girl who's, like, facetuning you in the photo. Like, you can't be friends with a girl like that. Do you know what I mean? Like, you can't. You have to have supportive, kind friends around you that love you the way that you are, and that will just immediately change your confidence, in my opinion.
Unknown
Yeah.
Tay
What you said about, like, dating someone is so true. And it's crazy how things that, like, stupid boyfriends, how they just, like, are ingrained in you.
Unknown
Yeah.
Tay
I had an ex boyfriend that told me I had cankles. I literally, like, I don't actually don't even know.
Spencer
I'm like, how did this even come up in conversation?
Tay
Literally? I actually don't know the context of it. And I to this day, see my ankles as canals.
Spencer
And you think of that.
Tay
And I. I had a fitting the other day, and I was wearing heels that had, like, the strap on.
Spencer
Yeah.
Tay
And I was like, no, these, like, show off my cankles. Like, obviously, I was trying it on. I'm like, this is crazy.
Spencer
And that's not even an insecurity that you have. It's an insecurity that he gave to.
Tay
You that it literally. I never thought I had cank.
Spencer
Yeah.
Tay
I never was about my ankles.
Spencer
Like, literally.
Tay
And it's so funny because I'm been with my husband. I mean, we've been married for two and a half, but we've been together for seven and a half.
Spencer
Yeah.
Tay
I'm like, why is this still. This is still in my brain. He's like. He's like, you don't have cankles also. If you did have cankles, who cares? Really? Who cares? I'm like, you're right. But it's just. It's literally something that I, like, can't let go of. So I really need to find partners that for sure lift us up.
Spencer
Oh, my gosh. Your life changes when you have a good partner. Truly, completely.
Tay
Like, I remember when Taylor and I first started dating, I went to go get Botox for the first time maybe, like, four years ago. And I'm like, it was something that I, like, just wanted for myself. I don't. I wanted a little bit in my forehead, and I was like, I just want to do this, and, I mean, make me feel better. I want to still be able to move my face. I'm just going to try it out and see. And he was like, why are you doing that? And I was like, well, I just want a little bit. He's like, why? A couple months ago, I was like, I think I might want to get lip filler. Which I do. I also just say things that I have no filter with him. So I just, like, share my thoughts. Like, I just say everything in my mind. I'm like, I think I want to get lip filler. He's like, what are you talking about? You don't need lip filler. I'm like, no, you're right. But, like, having someone that, like, he doesn't care if I don't shave my legs for two weeks. Like, he's just so, like, he actually.
Spencer
Like, just loves you the exact way that you are.
Unknown
Yeah. Yeah.
Tay
And it's. Yeah, it's so cool. And I feel like it's given me a lot of confidence. I always say, like, I've had the most individual confidence since we've been together, which is so, like, I feel like it's weird to say, because, yeah, we're, like, the most. I feel so confident in our relationship. But it's weird that having a partner that really just lifts you up and makes you, like, feel like the most beautiful.
Spencer
Well, you don't have a little rat in your ears, like cankles. Literally. I'm like, it will literally just be so much better.
Unknown
Yeah.
Tay
No, truly. And having. Having someone like that just completely changes it. So, ladies, if you're listening and you.
Spencer
Have a partner, I'm like, please just tell a good boyfriend. Please tell boyfriend.
Tay
He. He's not worth your time and energy, and we need to just get rid of them. You all know how much of a fan I am of self care. It's something that I talk about often, and honestly, it's something that I'm constantly learning more about. Because self care isn't just one size fits all. For some people, it's a quiet morning.
Unknown
With a cup of tea.
Tay
For others, it's booking a spontaneous weekend. Getaway and sometimes it's just putting your phone on do not disturb and giving yourself a moment to breathe. Personally, I've realized that self care doesn't always have to be this big dramatic reset. It's all about being intentional. And when we actually honor those little moments, that's when we start to feel a real shift physically, mentally, and even spiritually and honestly. It's refreshing. Speaking of feeling refreshed, I recently came across something that felt like a breath of fresh air, but this time for your finances. It's called Discover Cash Back Match. If you haven't heard of it, listen to this Discover will automatically double all the cash back you've earned at the end of your first year. Yeah, you heard that right. All of it matched. I'll be honest, when I first heard that, I thought, wait, well what's the catch? But there isn't one. It's automatic. You don't have to track anything or fill out forms or remember to click a button. It just happens. So let's say over the course of the year, you've used your Discover card to invest in a few of your self care favorites. Maybe you bought a new journal to help process your thoughts, a cozy robe that feels like a hug after a long day, or that facial steamer that TikTok swears by. And okay, maybe that one was more of a want than a need. But hey, it sparks joy. Knowing that you're getting rewarded for those purchases, especially when you're being thoughtful and intentional about them, just makes it feel even better. The truth is, self care and finances are more connected than we often realize, because how we manage our money plays a huge role in how supported, secure, and even how calm we feel day to day. So when you find a tool that supports both your spending and your peace of mind, that's kind of a game changer. And here's the thing that stood out to me. Wherever your self care takes you, whether it's your local yoga studio, your favorite grocery store, or even your go to coffee shop, chances are they accept Discover. In fact, According to the February 2025 Nielsen report, Discover is accepted at 99% of places in the US that take credit cards. That's not just convenient, it's comforting. It's one less thing to stress about. It's the same peace of mind feeling you get from a freshly cleaned house finally organizing your digital life, or checking something off your to do list that's.
Unknown
Been lingering for way too long.
Tay
Because here's the thing. Self care is a practice. A series of small, intentional choices that add up to something meaningful. And the same goes for how we spend and manage our money. Most of us are figuring it all out in real time and that's okay. So when you find something that helps make the process smoother, lighter, more rewarding, you hold onto that. So shout out to Discover for being a little piece of that puzzle. Because at the end of the day, feeling financially supported can be a form of self care. It pays to discover seat terms@discover.com credit.

Card let's face it, there truly is nothing worse than sleeping in a warm, hot environment. I need to sleep in a cold environment. And did you know that sleeping in a cooler environment offers several scientifically supported benefits that enhance sleep quality and overall health? Tay
I'm curious, do you struggle with putting pressure on yourself? Like feeling like you need to? Because this is something that a few of my content friends I feel like are like they're achievers and they put pressure on themselves. So like always be like doing more and feel like they're not doing enough or doing need to do better at something. Are you like that?
Spencer
I've always been a perfectionist but I'm like I could always do more. Yeah I could always like be more, post more, film more. Like I always feel like that.
Unknown
Yeah.
Spencer
But I would say over the last, like, year, honestly, since I started dating my boyfriend, it's just really been like, I just love my life so much that I just put more emphasis on, like, how my relationships in my life are and stuff. But it used to be very, like, content. Content. I always wanted to be more. I could be better or. But I'm going on this trip. But this girl's doing this. This influencer is posting with this brand. How does she get to work with them? But I didn't get to. I would always, like, compare myself and like, people even in my comments will compare me to other influencers. You know what I mean? There's constant, like, this competition that I didn't even want to be involved in.
Unknown
Yeah.
Spencer
But honestly, I feel like now I just love posting so much that I'm not really. I don't try and put so much, like, stress on myself.
Tay
That's great.
Spencer
Like, I just have fun.
Unknown
Yeah.
Tay
Because I feel like that could be. I feel like with content, it's hard to know. Like, to feel if you're doing enough. Honestly, I feel like that's anything. That's something that I've learned about. This whole, like, content entertainment industry is like, you can reach a goal that you set for yourself, but then it's not enough. And then you like more.
Unknown
There's always more.
Tay
Yeah.
Spencer
Oh, my gosh. Like, when I hit 1 million followers, it's like, holy. A million. This is crazy. Oh, my gosh. But then it's like, oh, but I could get 2 million.
Unknown
Yeah.
Spencer
You know what I mean? It's this constant, like, comparison and competition. But I also feel like I really remind myself I just need to touch grass. And like, yes, I love my job and it is a job and I do see it like that, but it's like, it's not rocket science. Like, I'm posting videos online. You know what I mean? I do really recognize that. And like, my brother goes to work every day and, like, works in construction. I'm like, that's crazy that he has to get up at like 4 o' clock in the morning to go do that. So anytime I get so stressed about my job, I'm like, okay, Spencer, chill out. Like, it's a video. Like, the world will move and go on if you don't post your TikTok today.
Unknown
Yeah.
Spencer
It's really not that serious.
Unknown
Yeah.
Spencer
And if you start treating it too serious, like, I can watch someone's TikTok and tell if they're having fun or if they're doing it to like try and make money or get brand deals. You know what I mean? Like, if you're doing it to have fun. I love watching their videos because I can feel that it's so carefree and it's real and authentic.
Unknown
Yeah.
Spencer
Then like, if someone's taking it so serious.
Unknown
Yeah.
Spencer
Like it's really not that serious. It's a tick tock is what I tell myself.
Tay
It's so, it's so true.
Spencer
Like it's not the end of the world.
Unknown
Yeah.
Tay
But also like validating that even like, you know, your brother may be stressed going to work, but like you're.
Spencer
It's different kinds of stress.
Tay
For sure. Your stress is.
Spencer
Yeah. And it still is like a job. And I feel like, I hate that. I'm constantly defending that to people when they're like in my commentary, oh, I'll get a real job. Like I work every day. You just don't see it as a real job. Doesn't mean it's not a real job.
Unknown
Yeah.
Spencer
You know, it's hard.
Tay
That's something I always say. Like I worked as a nurse, like during COVID I literally worked in the hospital and that is like, it's just a different kind of job. Like when I would leave the hospital, like I would work three days in a row and like I would be able to completely check out and like I would be fine.
Spencer
Yeah.
Tay
Like, I'm not thinking about work. I'm completely removed. Moving on with my life. And then I would go back and then it would be work. But with content and with Internet and all of this stuff, you literally, like, it doesn't stop.
Spencer
It doesn't stop. Like it's even so crazy. My boyfriend will work. He works in finance. As soon as he gets home, it's like he's off the clock. He's not working at all. But I'm like, no, it's 11 o' clock at night. But there's an email.
Unknown
Yeah.
Spencer
And I need to do this or I need to edit this or I have this brand deal do. Like it's always on or even when I go to a grocery store. It's like I could think I'm just, honestly just trying to look like and I just don't really care. And I'm gonna go to a grocery store and then I bump into someone who's like, oh my God. And I follow you. And then it's like immediately it's not that you're on, but it's like you're always you. Like, I can't stop being Spencer.
Unknown
Yeah.
Spencer
Like, you know what I mean? No matter where I go, I'm always going to be Spencer.
Unknown
Yeah.
Spencer
It feels like you're always on.
Unknown
Yeah.
Spencer
You know?
Tay
No, it definitely is, like, an on thing. And when people are like, well, it shouldn't, like, be an on if that's like, who you are. Yeah, but it is. Like, when I'm out running errands, I'm like, I'm deep in my brain thoughts. I am like, you know, maybe I had a rough morning. Maybe I'm just doing this and, like, I. If someone comes up to me, I don't. I don't want to be a. And I don't want to, like, for sure. You know, they. What if people always say, like, don't. What is it? Don't meet your idols or don't meet you? Like, whatever. It is not saying I have people's idols, but still, like, you see this person on the Internet, you look up to them, and then they're like, hey, I love your podcast. And, like, I want to be able to, like, fully give them my everything. So sometimes, like, that's why I, like, I never really go to events because I'm like, I want to be able to, like, have the mental capacity to fully have a conversation with someone. And, like, actually, like, if someone says they love the podcast, I want to, like, give them that love and appreciation back. Not, like, it's such an interesting thing. And I think I've learned that a lot, too, like, from my husband. And, like, watching him, obviously, he's like, another level, but, like, watching him, like, out, it's just. It's so.
Spencer
I feel like my craziest example of, like, you have to be on is I was literally at the hospital and I was leaving because my grandpa just passed away, and I was going to get food, and I'm like, okay, I don't want to talk to anybody right now. Like, my grandpa literally just passed away, and then there's, like, 10 girls that came up to me. They're like, oh, my God, can we take a photo with you? I'm like, this could not be worst timing ever, but I can't be a bitch and I can't say no. And I don't want to say no, but, like, emotionally I'm saying no.
Unknown
Yeah.
Spencer
Do you know what I mean? But then it gets so in my head, like, okay, is it a super valid. It's not even an excuse, but is it a valid excuse that you don't want to take a photo with someone because your grandpa just died. Yeah, 100%. But I can't, like, explain that to somebody. And then what if I say no to taking a photo with them and then they go to their friend and they're like, oh, well, Spencer was so rude.
Unknown
Yeah.
Spencer
Like, I met Spencer and she was such a bitch. Like, you just never really know what someone's going through.
Unknown
Yeah.
Spencer
Or what happened in their day. Like, I even think when I meet other influencers, if I meet somebody and I'm like, kind of disappointed. Like, I was really excited to meet them and it just didn't feel the same offline as it was online. I just always remind myself, like, I don't know what they're going through.
Unknown
Yeah.
Spencer
Did they just get off a flight that was like 17 hours and they had like, the worst news ever happen or something? Or they had the worst morning. Or maybe they're just feeling really insecure and I just caught them on a bad day.
Unknown
Yeah.
Spencer
Like, you can't just judge someone off of one second of meeting them.
Unknown
Yeah.
Spencer
You know, it's.
Tay
It's so true. And I always wonder, like, because I'll tell. I'll tell Taylor, my hun. Like, you can say no. Like, he. I don't think he's ever said no to taking a photo with someone, like, ever. And I'm like, you can say no sometimes. We actually. We didn't get an argument, but we got like a little, like, I got was sassy with him. The night we got engaged, we went to dinner and we had three people come up to our table and ask for photos. And like, this is your moment.
Spencer
And I was like, honey, your time.
Tay
You can say, like, no, it's okay. But then he, He. There's. There's a way to do it, and I don't know how to do it yet. But so many celebrities do it where they're just like, we're not taking photos right now. But I'm like, I feel guilty, but.
Spencer
I also don't want to sound like I think I'm like, above that.
Tay
Exactly.
Spencer
You know what I mean? Because, like, we're on the same level. I'm just like, girl, I feel really ugly today and I don't want to take a photo.
Unknown
Yeah.
Spencer
Or you don't know what just happened in my life. I don't want to take a photo.
Unknown
Yeah.
Spencer
Or even like, I think I'm on a date with my boyfriend and people, instead of like, asking take a photo, they're just like, staring.
Unknown
Yeah.
Spencer
Do you know what I mean?
Unknown
Yeah.
Spencer
And how Do I just feel like, can we leave? Because I feel really uncomfortable because it feels like everyone's watching us on a date right now.
Unknown
Yeah.
Spencer
You know what I mean? It's just so weird.
Tay
It's an interesting adjustment.
Spencer
Yeah.
Tay
I don't know if like, fully ever.
Spencer
I'm like, I'm just never, like, never. It's so weird. Even when I go with my dad sometimes, like, people will say, like, oh, can I take a photo with you? And my dad's like, do you guys go to high school together? Like, how do you know her? Like, do you know you go way back? You go way back. That's so funny.
Tay
I'm curious, is there something that you've learned about yourself recently? Like something new or like, maybe you're like, oh, this is a reason why I do this, or something, like something.
Spencer
I learned about myself recently. I don't really know. Like, I don't know. I feel like I've honestly lived alone for so long that I know every single thing about myself.
Tay
You've really been stuck with your thoughts.
Spencer
I've been stuck with my thoughts. Like, I know myself so well. That's one thing about me. Like, I really. I really know what I like and what I don't like. And when I don't want to do something and I really don't want to do it, I'm pretty stubborn about it. Like, I just know myself exactly who I am, honestly.
Tay
So does, like, living with someone, maybe your boyfriend excite you or.
Spencer
Oh my gosh. Yeah.
Unknown
Okay.
Tay
It does.
Spencer
Yeah. Yeah.
Tay
Please move in now.
Spencer
Yeah. With any of my ex boyfriends, I'm like, get out of my house. Don't come over.
Unknown
Yeah.
Spencer
Like, please. No. But that's how I know my boyfriend is like one. I'm like, oh, you could move in like yesterday and I'd be so happy about it, you know, like immediately.
Tay
That's so sweet.
Spencer
Yeah, I know.
Tay
I have a couple girlfriends that they don't live with their partners yet and.
Spencer
They'Ve protected their piece so well that they're like, this is.
Tay
Yeah. And they're like, nervous about. Yeah, I didn't really, like, have. Cuz I still lived with my parents when Taylor and I first started dating. And then I just slowly. Just lived with him.
Spencer
Yeah. Like slowly everything just moved in and moved in.
Tay
And so, I mean, we've been. I never, like, had my own.
Spencer
Yeah.
Tay
Space in my own, like, routine. So it was fairly easy. But now I feel like I'm starting to learn my routine and it's different.
Spencer
Yeah.
Tay
Than his. Like, I need alone time.
Spencer
Yeah.
Tay
And he does not need alone time at all whatsoever. Like, he's get sad when I'm like, I'm gonna go, like, lay in bed for like 30 minutes. He's like, but why? Like, can you do it later? Like, I'll go. I'll go nap with you later.
Spencer
I'm like, he's like, I'll join you.
Unknown
Yeah.
Spencer
Literally, you're like, no, I love you so much, but I just need to say a little bit.
Tay
I know.
Spencer
No, very valid. For sure.
Tay
He's so sweet. I love him. What. What are your biggest go to tools when it comes to your mental health?
Spencer
I love a hot girl walk.
Unknown
Yes.
Spencer
Like, I love it. Pilates and a hawker walker. Like, my two things, if I'm in like the worst mood ever or something happened and like, go on a walk, put a podcast on, or listen to music and Pilates, like, that just changes everything. Hanging out with my friends, like, I have the best girlfriends ever and hanging out with them just is like my recharge, honestly. And being at home, I travel so much that I'm never ever at home. That anytime I'm at home, I'm like, this is amazing. I feel like that's another reason I could totally live with someone is like, I'm honestly never at home.
Unknown
Yeah.
Spencer
Like, I don't know if I'm coming or going. So when I'm at home, it would just be so nice for someone to be there because I feel like my life is so, so much going on and there's all these crazy things. Like, even being on this podcast right now, I'm like, this is crazy. This is surreal. Like, I follow you. It's insane to be here. And then I'm gonna fly home and just be at home by myself. I'm like, what's going on? It feels like I'm literally like, adrenaline rush. And then it's just so chill.
Unknown
Yeah.
Spencer
That being at home is like my recharge.
Unknown
Yeah.
Spencer
Honestly, I don't do it often, but it's the best.
Tay
Yeah, no, that's. I get that a lot. You posted this recently, but you said this little quote and it was being a self love influencer doesn't mean that you love everything about yourself. It means choosing to love yourself. I think that is so, so good because I think we get stuck even with my freaking cankles. Like, I get stuck on, like, I need to love this part.
Spencer
Yeah.
Tay
Like, about me. But it's actually just like. No, I'm actually like choosing to yeah. When did that realization, like, become a thing for you?
Spencer
Because I feel like I just. Like, we're all human. I don't know. There's so much, like, I can't love every single thing about myself, and it's going to be this journey. And the most important thing to me is just that I don't hate myself.
Unknown
Yeah.
Spencer
Like, I don't have to love every single thing about myself, but I just don't have to hate myself.
Unknown
Yeah.
Spencer
You know, and if. Even if people say bad things about me, I'm not allowed to say it about myself. Like, that is the boundary.
Unknown
Yeah.
Spencer
You know, like, I don't have to be obsessed with myself. Like, loving yourself isn't walking in the room and thinking you're the hottest person there. Like, it's that you think that you look hot.
Unknown
Yeah.
Spencer
You know, like, I just. Sometimes I feel guilty because I post about self love all the time. That when I have a bad day and I'm like, oh, my God, I can't post this photo. My arms look so fat in it. Then I feel so bad at myself because I'm like, I. Like, I feel like I have to be the superhuman and love everything about myself because I tell people to love everything about themselves, but I'm still a human. Like, I'm still a girl. I'm like, I still cry sometimes because I feel like shit about myself, but that's the human experience. And, like, I have to really appreciate the lows to, like, love the highs.
Tay
That's so true. Yeah, I love that. I'm curious. What are. What are some, like, goals or dreams of yours that you want for yourself in the future?
Spencer
Ooh, I want to be on a billboard. I feel like that would be fun.
Tay
Wait, haven't you already.
Spencer
My manager's like, yeah. Okay, well, my really big goal was, like, I want to be on a billboard in Toronto. Okay. Because I want to go there and I want to see it and I want everyone I know to see it.
Unknown
Yes.
Spencer
Okay. Is that horrible?
Tay
Are you gonna, like, go to your high school reunion and just, like, do this to everyone?
Spencer
Hell yeah. I'm like, all of you hated me.
Tay
The way I tell my husband that. Because actually this year is my 10 year.
Spencer
Yeah.
Tay
It's crazy that I'm like, are you going to go? I want to go. And I've always told him, like, you're coming with me. Like, this is going to be my.
Spencer
You're like, you're coming. Well, that's like, I went to high school with my boyfriend and he was, like, the really hot guy at our high school that everyone liked that. I'm like, oh, my God. High school reunion. Me and him pull up together. Like, is that not the most iconic thing ever?
Tay
Wait, that's crazy. Did you guys know each other other or.
Spencer
I've known him since grade five, so I've known him, like, my whole life, basically. But I'm like, that going back to high school reunion isn't iconic.
Tay
I know, I know. I really. I will see if that ends up. Our ASV president is, like, a dad and in, like, med school or something, and so I need him. He was like, our president when? Yeah, in 12th grade. But I need to tell him to, like, actually do something because you're like, planet, I want to go.
Spencer
I'm going. Outfit is already picked out.
Tay
Wait, how did you. How did you and your boyfriend start dating then? That's crazy. You've known each other for that long.
Spencer
Yeah, he was, like, my high school crush, and then I was friends with his younger brother. So we've only been dating for, like, nine months now. But before we started dating, I had just bought, like, my house that I live in, and I had a hot tub, and I remembered that he used to, like, clean pools. So I text him. I'm like, oh, my God, we haven't talked in so long. Like, my hot tub is broken. Like, you're going to have to come fix. Was not broken at all. It was perfectly working and fine. But I messaged him this. And I remember before I messaged him, like, I said to my friends, I'm like, oh, my gosh. There's this really hot guy. I'm single. There's this really hot guy that I knew from high school, and he's always been the nicest person ever that I'm like, I should just reach out. And then I text him saying, my hot tub's broken. And then our first date was actually going to a music festival with me and all my friends. So he just came, like, with, literally me and the four girls.
Tay
Oh, wow.
Spencer
Like, all four of us girls. And then him. And I'm like, okay, if he can go on a date with my friends and they all like him that, like, this is my husband.
Tay
Oh, my gosh. So you were just like. Look at. You were just like, let me.
Spencer
I was just shooting my shot. Honestly, I'm like, I'm single.
Unknown
Yeah.
Spencer
I'm young. This is flirty and fun. Who cares? I love this for you. Like, whatever. Yeah. And I always knew he was so nice that it Was just like immediately in love.
Tay
Oh, my gosh. Wait. I love that.
Spencer
I always kind of felt like we would have dated.
Unknown
Yeah.
Spencer
And then we just didn't. So I'm like, maybe now is the time. And it definitely was. Yeah.
Tay
That's so cool. I love that so much.
Spencer
Thank you.
Tay
Oh, wait, I was gonna ask. You did a thing with Bloom. They are actually my favorite company.
Spencer
So good.
Tay
Like, right? Amazing. I swear by their products. Their moisturizer has. Their gel cream, I guess you would call it.
Spencer
But yeah.
Tay
Has actually like saved my life.
Spencer
It's. They are so good. Like their products are amazing.
Tay
When you post about them, I was like, oh. Like, oh my gosh. This is so funny because I feel like a lot of people because I know they're Canadian.
Spencer
Yeah.
Tay
But a lot of my friends here haven't heard.
Unknown
Yeah.
Spencer
I feel like it's so niche. Very, very niche that I'm like, I need to scream it from the rooftop and tell every single person in the world.
Tay
My mom actually introduced me to them because she used their oil, the acne oils. Like after she was like dermaplane me or something, she would use their acne oil. Honestly, like a long time ago, before, like their old branding of like a white bottle and an orange top. Like a long time ago. And that's how I got introduced to their products. And it is something that I swear by. I will. I love a good, like skincare routine. But their moisturizer is like, when I'm having like a skin flare up, I'll literally only ever wear that. And it is the absolute best.
Spencer
Have you used their lips?
Tay
Yes.
Spencer
Oh my God. It's so good.
Tay
I just put yours in my purse. I haven't used it yet. It's in my purse.
Spencer
I haven't used it. It's so good. They literally sent me PR and it was in like a package. It was them sending it to me for me to just test it for them.
Unknown
Yeah.
Spencer
Not like as a PR package or anything. Just test it and tell them what I thought about it. And my mom opens all my PR packages for me because it goes to her house. So she opened the package and threw it out. So I only had this white tube and I didn't know what was in it.
Unknown
Oh my God.
Tay
Wait, did you post this?
Spencer
Yeah. And I was. And I was like, oh, my God. I posted online because I'm like, can somebody tell me what this is? If the brand sees this, like, please. I know this is such a far fetched. But somebody. And they reached out and they Were like, oh, this is actually from us. And I was so scared that I was going to run out of it. So I was so thankful they messaged me. And then I was like, we need to do more. So I actually became an investor in the brand, which is crazy. That's like the first time I've ever done that for a brand and that felt like such a big step in my career because that's outside of just being like a tick tocker, you know what I mean? And it's so crazy to be an investor in a brand that I love so much that even you're talking about and loving so much and just really, really good products. And they're Canadians.
Unknown
Yeah.
Tay
No, there's a. They're, they're the best. When I saw you post that, I was like, oh my gosh.
Spencer
Like, yay.
Tay
Thank God, because they're really the best. I'm curious, what are you most proud of yourself for?
Spencer
For always staying true to who I am and like being me. I feel like it's so hard with posting online to not alter your personality or your looks or like if someone's constantly telling you like to get. Not the people are just saying go get plastic surgery, but just as an example, like, yeah, I'm so happy that I have not changed what I look like at all. I have not changed my personality at all. I have not changed the people that I hang out with at all. Like as much as I post online, I always say like, I'm an influencer, but I'm not really an influencer because I'm not in to all of this. Like I still live in a really small town in Ontario and I haven't like moved to be an influencer more be more in like the game. You know what I mean? I'm very, very proud of myself that I've always been like true to who I am and like if somebody doesn't like me, that's too bad for them. Like I don't have to change who I am. And I think it's really hard in social media to not change yourself at all. And like I don't think that I've changed at all.
Unknown
Yeah.
Spencer
And that makes me proud.
Tay
Yeah, I love that. That's so special. I feel like younger you is like so proud.
Spencer
Thank you.
Tay
Who you are. I feel like you, you became who like your younger self maybe like trying to follow you.
Spencer
Don't make me cry. Yeah. Honestly though, it's crazy. Like, like it's crazy. I became everything that I, when I was younger, I Wish I could have watched online, honestly. And that was always the goal.
Tay
And it's so cool, like, how many people. I feel like you're able to impact and the age of people. Like, I feel like anyone could watch your content and, like, feel loved and feel better about themselves.
Spencer
I always feel like I have just, like, 13 year olds that are watching my content, but then I'll meet someone on the street that's like 40, and she's like, oh, my gosh, I'm a mom. And my younger daughters watch your videos, but I watch them too, because I love them. It's just crazy.
Unknown
Yeah.
Spencer
Just the range is insane. And I'm so grateful.
Tay
I love it.
Spencer
Like, so grateful.
Tay
I love it for you. You deserve it all. You're very kind, and you're just like this little ray of sunshine.
Spencer
Thank you.
Tay
I love it. Okay, my last little assignment I have for you. It's called Lemon 77 questions. You can rapid fire them. If one of them, like, pulls a string, you can go into a monologue. Whatever your heart desires. Okay, first question is, what movie or song title best describes your mental health today?
Spencer
Oh, why am I, like, it's the most annoying song, but, you know, like, because I'm happy. Why is that me? I'm just happy. That's great. Like, I'm just thriving. I'm living life.
Tay
Yeah. You are happy with that?
Spencer
Yeah.
Tay
Great. I love that for you. Not annoying at all. I actually haven't heard that song in a long time.
Spencer
I know it's gonna be stuck in my head. And Despicable Me is, like, my favorite movie, so I'm like, it's perfect. That's so good.
Tay
Okay, number two is how open are you with people in your life when struggling?
Spencer
Oh, I'm so open. Like, I feel like that's how it just gets so much easier is if you're open. Yeah, I'm so open. I will tell anybody everything that I'm going through because that's the only way I'll get through it.
Unknown
Yeah.
Tay
Number three is if you could only follow three social media accounts, what would they be? Oh.
Spencer
I like, if I could actually only follow three, it would probably be my three besties. I'm gonna be honest. I was gonna pick influencers, but I'm like, they are my influencers.
Unknown
Yeah.
Spencer
Honestly, I love that.
Tay
Do they do influencing or do they have, like, normal.
Spencer
They would say no. I would say yes. I watch them. Like, they're my favorite influencer.
Unknown
Yeah.
Spencer
But they all have, like, like, other jobs and, like, they don't do it as their job or anything like that.
Tay
Yeah, I love that. That's like my. A lot of my close friends, like, like don't have. I mean, yeah, they're not influencers and sharing their life. And then I'll like post with other content creators and I feel like I'll get these trolls being like, you've just thrown away your old friends and now you're with these content creators. I'm like, little do you know I actually hang out with you.
Spencer
Like, we're sitting together right now while you comment this.
Tay
Comment. I'm sitting next.
Spencer
You don't have to like, post every time you hang out with someone.
Unknown
Yeah.
Spencer
Oh my God. I get so many comments of people saying, are you not friends with this girl anymore? You don't post there. I'm like, we hang out. We. I just don't feel the need to post every single time I sit down with somebody and have a coffee. Yeah, you know, that's so good.
Tay
I love that you have that boundary because it's important because I've definitely met people at events before that are like, oh my gosh, let's do this, let's do this. And I'm like, fun, but like, I'm like surging a little bit.
Spencer
Calm down. It's okay, it's okay. We don't need to do it.
Tay
Number four is. What is your favorite form of self care?
Spencer
Pilates. Yeah, Reformer. Pilates.
Tay
I was gonna say reformer.
Spencer
Reformer. Yeah.
Tay
I need to go back to. I actually have like a full floor one in my garage.
Spencer
Yeah.
Tay
But it was too cold for me to get in there and do it. I love a good. I love a good reformer. Number five is. What is the most misunderstood thing about you? I don't know. You're like, I'm pretty, just. Pretty much just myself.
Spencer
I'm so myself. I don't know, I. I feel like people would expect me to be more outgoing than I am. I'm a little bit more shy than I'm. I am. Like, if I'm in a group, like one on one, I could talk to you for hours and literally yap your ear off that you'd be like, okay, I heard enough. But if I'm in a group of like 30 people, I'm not gonna be like the life of the party. Like online. You might think because I post videos, like dancing and being crazy, that would be like the life of the party.
Unknown
Yeah.
Spencer
But I am shy for sure.
Unknown
Yeah.
Spencer
Like in a big group of people, I'm like, I thrive in small, tiny Groups. But if we're at, like, a party, I'm not gonna, like, do anything crazy.
Tay
Yeah. No, that is, you know, literally me. I, like. I almost, like, shut down. I feel, like, in big groups.
Spencer
Yeah.
Tay
Of people.
Spencer
It's so hard to be, like, myself, I feel in big groups of people.
Tay
I don't know why that is.
Spencer
Yeah. And not that I'm, like, scared of getting judged. It's not that. It's just.
Tay
Yeah.
Spencer
I don't know how to be myself because also, like, I don't want all the attention, so I'm like, that's okay.
Tay
I know. Sometimes I'll, like. I'll, like, leave the event. Like, we were recently at a friend's birthday party, and there was probably, like, 30 people there, and I was just, like, a little overstimulated and was not, like. There was just a lot going on, and I just wasn't feeling that social. And I was like, hon, I'm gonna leave.
Spencer
Yeah.
Tay
And he was like, what? I was like, yeah, I think I'm gonna go.
Spencer
Hear me.
Tay
And he's like, okay.
Unknown
And we had.
Tay
Two of my girlfriends were sleeping over, so he ended up leaving with them like, four hours later.
Spencer
But, yeah.
Tay
I, like, don't have any fomo.
Spencer
Yeah. Honestly, gone.
Tay
It's. It is the best thing most of the time, but sometimes I do wish I had it, because I miss out on things sometimes, and then looking back, I'm like, crap. I should have, like, actually gone to that. Yeah.
Spencer
I made my resol. Solution that if I don't want to do something, I'm just not doing it.
Unknown
Yeah.
Spencer
Because I feel like sometimes if I was on the fence about doing it, I would just do it to, like, be easier, I guess. You know what I mean? But now, like, if I'm somewhere and I'm just not feeling it overstimulated, everything is just, like, too much going on.
Unknown
Yeah.
Spencer
I'll just leave.
Unknown
Yeah.
Spencer
Like, life is too short.
Unknown
Yeah.
Tay
And you really have to set that boundary with, like, when your schedule is, like, so busy.
Spencer
Yeah. When it's so chaotic, I'm like, my bed is calling me.
Unknown
Yeah.
Spencer
Like, I'd love to hang out when my bed is calling me.
Tay
I know that's my friends that understand that are like, thank God.
Spencer
Oh, my gosh. If I cancel plans and my friends, like, got mad at me.
Unknown
Yeah.
Spencer
I'd be like, come on.
Unknown
Yeah.
Spencer
Sometimes I'm like, can someone cancel them?
Tay
Yeah, we don't need to hang out today. We can.
Spencer
We can reschedule.
Tay
Okay. Number six is who has had the most positive impact on your mental health, my friends. Yeah, for sure. Have you gone to therapy?
Spencer
I haven't. No.
Unknown
Okay.
Spencer
I'm just wondering.
Tay
No, because we didn't talk about it. I was like, normally I ask.
Spencer
But, yeah, great.
Tay
My friends love that for you. Friends are good. Therapy number seven is if you can go back to one moment in your life, what moment would that be? And what would you say to yourself?
Spencer
Probably when I was getting bullied when I was younger. More like, more so in high school. I would just be like, girl, you don't even know what is coming. I'd be like, you need to rest right now because you don't even know what's about to change in your life. Or even, like, right at Covid.
Unknown
Yeah.
Spencer
When I was literally working in fast food and being like, this is so bad. Like, do I go to school? Like, I didn't know what to do with my life. I didn't know who I was. I didn't. I just felt so lost. I would literally just grab myself and be like, go sleep, because you're gonna be so tired, because so much is coming. Like, your life is about to change so much. Honestly, it is insane how much my life has changed. And I'm so happy you're.
Tay
I honestly just feel like you're, like, thriving in the best way. Like, you're living your best life. And I'm so happy to know you and so happy we got to, like, sit and chat.
Spencer
