Natalie Louise Lucas-Shorter and Hala Ayala joined Tara Setmayer this week for a lively conversation about the big ballot-measure WIN in Virginia! Organizing with organizations like the Black Women's Leadership Collective, Hala and Natalie were instrumental in getting a Democratic plan to allow them to redraw the state congressional map for the remainder of the decade — part of the partisan battle over redistricting happening in several states ahead of the 2026 midterm election. The proposed map would give Democrats a chance at winning 10 of Virginia’s 11 congressional districts, a dramatic shift from the current 6-5 split in the Virginia House delegation. **********************************************************************The Seneca Project is one of the few groups unafraid to stand our ground, and we cannot continue this fight without you. It’s The Stakes Holiday Edition 🎄 — and somehow, even at the end of the year, Trump is still committing to making things as horrible as possible. Tara Setmayer and Michelle Kinney break down Trump’s unhinged speech, the Vanity Fair piece everyone’s talking about, and why his latest “Patriot Games” announcement sounds disturbingly close to The Hunger Games. We pause to remember the life and legacy of Rob Reiner — artist, storyteller, patriot — and close with our year-end Bright Spots: the moments, people, and reminders of what’s still good in this country, and why the fight is worth it.SUPPORT THE SENECA PROJECT http://donate.senecaproject.usWatch The Stakes with Tara Setmayer and Michelle Kinney every Thursday live at 7:30 PM ET.
