9E28 went out live from the TSORR Myoli Beach studio on 9 July 2026. It's quite a diverse show, something here for everybody. One of those shows where I just had too much music and not enough time. Rock and Metal Time Machine had far too many interesting things happening for me to squeeze into an hour. For the next few weeks in The Diabolical Challenge, we'll look at final albums made by legendary bands, and we kicked it off this week with: Black Sabbath - 13Van Halen - Different Kind of TruthRush - Clockwork AngelsMotörhead - Bad MagicTwo-thirds of the way through the show I heard of the sad passing of Annette McClellan, who was a drummer for No Friends Of Harry. Many listeners to the show will know the band and will have seen them live. We paid our respects to Annette, who was an amazing drummer, and listened to 'A Long Way Home'. RIP Annette, thank you for the music. On a personal note, I closed the show with a tribute to Anita Sayer-Hickson, who passed away on 3 July. My deepest condolences to her sister Penny. Thanks as always for the support. S9E27 went out live from the TSORR Myoli Beach studio on 2 July 2026. The show was dedicated to American rock and metal in celebration of the 250th Anniversary of the USA this weekend, 4 July 2026. American music changed my life; I am forever grateful for every amazing, in some cases life-changing, USA band I ever heard. The Diabolical Challenge featured four bands with the bass, drums, lead singer, keyboards, and guitarist format: Rainbow, Bon Jovi, Journey, and Great White. The Rock and Metal Time Machine had some notable events occurring this week, especially on the 3rd of July. Some amazing coincidences in the 27 Club with Brian Jones and Jim Morrison and Ziggy Stardust. It seems 3 July is quite the day to die.I had an interesting interview with Khazimula and we got a sneak preview of 'On a Dream, which is available tomorrow morning. Check it out, I hope to hear it played at a World Cup one day. Thanks as always for the support. It’s also the beginning of my birth week, and I was celebrating myself hard! The Diabolical Challenge took us straight into blues-rock heaven with four absolute legends — all killer three-piece bands (guitar, bass, drums): Cream, Jimi Hendrix, ZZ Top, and Rory Gallagher. Proper pioneers and some seriously fiery material that lit the place up. In the Immortals slot, we fired up Neil Young with the epic 'Crime in the City' (Sixty to Zero)”. We also had some fresh new releases, including Armored Saint and Brian Fallon, a few curveballs, and the usual favourites that just had to be played. The Diabolical Challenge featured four bands from Germany: Scorpions, Accept, Rammstein, and Michael Schenker Group. In the Immortals slot, we had a great tribute to Ronnie James Dio, who passed away this week back in 2016. We listened to him in Rainbow singing 'Stargazer'. Regarding S9E20, the live Story of Rock and Roll Radio Show for 14th of May 2026, could not be recorded due to me being in the hospital, having wisdom teeth out, and not getting home in time to be able to do the show. I stitched together (excuse the pun) three of the latest one-hour TSORR Turbo shows that take place on Bulldogs Radio for an hour every Friday. I hope it will suffice for this week. Usually I would record up front but we've had Cat 8 storms in the Western Cape and no power for 7 out of the last 10 days. There is not enough sun to charge the solar for a 3 hour show and keep the household running. However, there is plenty of good music here just minus the usual Thursday night features like the Diabolical Challenge and Rock and Metal Time Machine. I'll be back to normal for S9E21. Artists featured: Volbeat, Triumph, Van Halen, W.A.S.P, Danzig, Judas Priest, Texas Hippie Coalition, Smith / Kotzen, U2, Cold Chisel, The Gaslight Anthem, The Clash, Tesla, Metallica, Judas Priest, ACDC, The Sweet, Buckcherry, Airbourne, Iron Maiden, Foghat, Cold Chisel, Nazareth, Neil Young, Blue Scream, Parkway Drive, Ozzy Osbourne, Piet Botha & Jack Hammer, Joe Bonamassa, Led Zeppelin, James Reyne, Thin Lizzy, Dave Hause, Motörhead, The Lazys, Van Halen, Oasis, Judas Priest, Megadeth, The Professionals, The UninvitedThe Story of Rock and Roll. S9E19 went out live from the TSORR Studio on Myoli Beach on 7 May 2026 at 18h00 on Bulldogs Radio. This show nearly didn't happen due to 48 hours' worth of power outages and Orange Category 8 storms along the Garden Route coast. I managed to just scrounge enough sun to get some power into the batteries, and this is the result.
