July 8, 2026 - Season 16, Episode 160 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Wednesday morning show, Alex Kozora and I get right into discussing the latest relevant news concerning the Pittsburgh Steelers and that includes the Tuesday announcement that all three of the team's preseason games this year will be shown live on the NFL Network. ESPN's annual offseason position rankings are now rolling out based on polls conducted with NFL teams so with that, we discuss Steelers CB Joey Porter Jr. not being ranked in the top ten of the cornerbacks. We discuss whether Porter was slighted some in the rankings and any bearing it might have on how much he might ultimately get paid this summer when it comes to a possible contract extension. We discuss Porter's strengths and weaknesses at this point of his NFL career in addition to going over what former Steelers CB Darius Slay recently said about his former teammate. We also make sure to highlight what former Steelers CB Ike Taylor had to say about Slay's Tuesday evaluation of Porter. Alex recently posted his study on the size of NFL coaching staffs, so we discuss his findings and where the Steelers now rank leaguewide this offseason. We also discuss whether coaching staff sizes correlate to anything at all when it comes to team success. After thoroughly discussing the latest topical subjects and news concerning the Steelers, Alex and I talk in-depth about six more players in my annual 90-in-30 training camp preview series. The six players we discuss in this show are RB Travis Homer, QB Will Howard, WR Max Hurleman, OT Max Iheanachor, CB D'Shawn Jamison, and DT Kevin Jobity Jr. We give the summer outlook for each player and the chances a few of them have at sticking in Pittsburgh once the preseason ends. This 107-minute episode also discusses several other minor topics not noted in the recap above and we end this podcast by answering a few questions we received via email from listeners. steelersdepot.com Learn more about your ad choices. July 6, 2026 - Season 16, Episode 159 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Monday morning show, Ross McCorkle and Josh Carney sit in for Alex Kozora and we get right into discussing the excitement surrounding the upcoming World Cup match between the United States and Belgium. We also discuss if professional soccer has any shot at threatening the NFL in the very near future when it comes to American popularity. Two young Pittsburgh Steelers wide receivers, Roman Wilson and Germie Bernard, were recently working with The Route God, according to videos posted on Instagram, so we all discuss how that might be the biggest recent news concerning the team. The Steelers have yet to sign CB Joey Porter Jr. and DT Keeanu Benton to contract extensions this offseason so with that, we dive into the probability aspects of each player getting done this offseason. We spend a lot of time discussing Benton's situation and future as part of this segment because the three of us are generally convinced that Porter will sign a contract extension at some point prior to Week 1. On the heels of Ross recently ranking the 2026 offseason moves made by Steelers GM Omar Khan, the three of us dive deeper into the potentially best and most impactful additions made on both offense and defense over the course of the last several months. I also get thoughts from Ross and Josh on what their biggest concerns are when it comes to the Steelers offense and defense ahead of training camp getting underway later this month. After thoroughly discussing offensive and defensive concerns when it comes to the 2026 Steelers, the three of us talk in-depth about three more players in my annual 90-in-30 training camp preview series. The three players the three of us discuss are OLB Alex Highsmith, OL Brock Hoffman, and ILB Cole Holcomb. As part of our discussion, we give the summer outlook for each player and the chances a few of them have at sticking in Pittsburgh once the preseason ends. Much later in this show, the three of us discuss the chances of rookie RB/WR Eli Heidenreich making the 53-man roster this year after the preseason concludes.
