Tony Kennett, host of the Tony Kennett cast. Let's get down to business. You're listening to the Tony Kennett cast on 93 WIBC on CYTV here on the Daily Signal. You could say a lot of things about the Trump administration this time around, a lot of things he just doesn't give the flip of a wooden nickel about anymore when appointing and then confirming members to his senior cabinet. He picked a kind of wide range of mavericks who had no problem looking at a camera, looking at a snot nosed journalist or perhaps an angry Maxine Waters from California and saying no. And I gotta say, I really wasn't expecting that to last throughout the entire term. There was a time, although it was a while ago in the first Trump administration where Trump essentially kind of got down to the business of the governing and then things proceeded apace. Now, we are very well aware that that was because there was a lot of internal fighting that went on for the entire administrative session of Trump's first term. Now, that's not the case. And you see a lot of people in the executive branch that are moving in lockstep with one another. There's still a lot of open debate. I mean, I'm sure that somewhere off in the far distance, you've got Howard Lutnick and Scott Besant arm wrestling, you know, maybe J.D. vance and Marco Rubio debating foreign policy moves here, there. But by and large, the Trump administration is doing things at a pace that makes it really difficult to cover in the news. Part of that's by design. Part of that is because you really only have 18 months in the first term before its midterm season. Nothing else is going to get done. And then who knows? There's a random card after the midterm, which we also have some breaking news about here later in the show. As of right now, though, right before we got started, as you might remember, Alina Haba was Trump's temporary placement for U.S. attorney in New Jersey, who ended up charging representative Lamonica McIver, otherwise known as the Kool Aid man, for belly busting a federal agent as she was trying to shove her way through a crowd to enter the Delaney Ice facility near Newark. Now again wearing a bright red jacket and a large stretchy white T shirt that doesn't quite fit. And then again, Kool Aid Manning. Oh, yeah, your way through federal agents is not exactly smart. If you're gonna do something illegal, doing it in the most flashy clothing available. Maybe not the wisest thing. As Elton John said, there's a reason that I don't speed. So based on the Alina Haba situation, you know the charges because thank God, cops wearing body cams after the George Floyd stuff, that has in fact been a very good thing for people who are those of us who enjoy watching cops in the 90s. Now we actually have a follow up, it's police body cams. After McIver was charged, the Democrats got very, very, very upset and crying fascism about Alina Haba. And so Hakeem Jeffries, the minority Leader in the House, did their rootin tootinist to get Hakeem to do a little political chess and get Alina Haba popped out. So under a legal loophole, federal judges can vote to replace an acting U.S. attorney after a 120 day interim term. So they did a group of judges led by Hakeem Jeffries, who by the way, now there has been an ethics complaint filed against for this particular behavior. They got rid of Alina Haba and they replaced her with her deputy, Desiree Grace, which maybe wouldn't necessarily be that much difference. Here's the fun thing. The Department of Justice does in fact get to appoint or fire any interim or temporary attorneys in any place. So the Trump DOJ then fired the deputy, Desiree Grace and appointed Alina Haba as temporary U.S. attorney in New Jersey. So let me wrap that all up for you with a nice bow here. President Trump appointed Alina Haba to be the U.S. attorney in New Jersey. The Democrats got really, really angry about it and did this weird legal loophole, coordinated effort, very unethical, at least as far as House rules are concerned, to encourage judges to oust Alina Haba. And so then Donald Trump replaces Alina Haba with Alina Haa. It's fantastic. I mean, it is, it's a, it's a classic Trump move here because again, as we talked about with Senator Ron Johnson of Wisconsin yesterday, there is a clamor now that the big beautiful bill is out of the way. The first precision package is out of the way. Before we get to the second rescission package, Americans are wondering, what the heck Is the US Senate up to? They are confirming over 130 appointments that Trump has nominated that have to go through the Senate right now. And the Democrats, unlike during a Biden administration, when you get to the second assistant secretary, deputy sub Manager of the Postal Service, a guy whose title is essentially made fancy enough to look pretty on LinkedIn, normally you would just Rubber stamp. Okay, this guy, you send him on through and you would move him through. Democrats, through Chuck Schumer are trying to make every appointment, even if it's for the second dog catcher in Rhode island, take the maximum 30 hour limit. So Democrats are trying to hold that up. And again, in the meantime, this allows the Trump administration to appoint these interim and temporary individuals. And he's just not going to put up with Hakeem doing a little shuffling around. That brings us over to the really big point of contention right now with the Trump administration, and that is between Donald Trump and the chair of the Federal Reserve, Jerome Powell. So Trump is really not a fan of Jerome Powell, not lowering interest rates with a bit of an asterisk here. The issue for Jerome Powell is that during the Biden administration, right before the election between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump, Jerome Powell did what we all knew was going to happen. He lowered interest rates artificially. Now, there was a major inflationary growth cycle. It was not considered wise to lower interest rates at that time, but Jerome Powell, for whatever reason, encouraged the Federal Reserve to do so. It's done quite often right before an election, especially with a sitting administration trying to run for kind of a vague reelect. So now Trump wants the interest rates to be lowered because a lot of his economic policies have been a success. Now, there's a lot of debate as to whether or not Jerome should do that, shouldn't do that. But because Jerome has played hands on with the interest rates before, Trump's pretty pissed about it now that he's not. And this brings us over to a really interesting kind of a lawsuit investigation into some overspending on a new Federal Reserve building that was apparently all set up to have fancy beehives on the roof and, you know, a fun place to get some matcha and a massage. You know, regular federal duty things. Those of us who work jobs in the Midwest where I'm broadcasting out of, we don't necessarily get beehive matcha massages all the livelong day. Producer Nick, you ever gotten a beehive matcha massage?
Jerry Lopez
Are you telling me I need to remove the 30 beehives I've installed on the studio roof?
Tony Kennett
I'm, I'm a little concerned. So Trump goes over with, with Tim Scott to view this, this construction site again, Trump kind of real estate media mogul individual goes over and this is where Powell starts to get a little bit nervous because Trump starts to cite a couple of numbers about the proposed budget and then things going over budget. I know federal buildings Going over budget, say it ain't so. But this is where Powell makes a bit of a mistake. There's a bit of a tendency when you look at Donald Trump, he says things. Some of the things he says really out there, they're boisterous. And you don't always take him seriously on every single word that he says. Otherwise, there would be about 217,000 people competing for the best person in US history. So Trump lists a couple of numbers. Powell, you know, thinks, I can probably contest and push back, and maybe cnn, msnbc, they'll come to my defense over this. Well, that didn't quite happen. Check it out. The reasons why we wanted to see it was the overruns of the expenses. Wanted to figure out why.
Producer Nick
So we're taking a look, and it looks like it's about 3.1 billion. It went up a little bit.
Tony Kennett
So Powell starts shaking his head as soon as Trump starts talking about it. Looks like he went about 3.1 million, maybe 3.7, little bit over. Powell starts shaking his head like a Yorkie who hears someone three blocks away and is trying to stop peeing on the couch. That is the shaking going on with Powell here. We're a lot.
Producer Nick
So the 2.7 is now 3.1. I'm not aware of that.
Tony Kennett
I'm not aware of that, Mr. President. And then Trump decides to go absolutely ham. He reaches into his jacket and pulls out a Glock. Is he gonna regulate like Warren G. No, he pulls out the receipts.
Producer Nick
Just came out.
Senator Mazie Hirono
Yeah, I haven't heard that from anybody at the Fed.
Producer Nick
It just came.
Tony Kennett
Our notes at about 3.1 as well. Get out the 3. Get out the reading glasses. This came from. And then presto. It looks like what Trump was saying and that Powell was out there again going the. Well, I'm not aware of that, Mr. President. Well, we actually have the stats right here, sir. Someone in the Trump communications team, I don't know who does that, Is doing their job very, very correctly. You're including the Martin renovation. You just added. You just added in a third building.
Senator Mazie Hirono
Is what that is. That's a third building.
Producer Nick
It's a building that's being built.
Tony Kennett
No, it's been. It was built five years.
Senator Mazie Hirono
We finished Martin five years ago.
Producer Nick
It's part of the overall work.
Tony Kennett
So Trump is correct. It is, in fact, part of the overall budget expenses that were proposed. So, again, pulling out receipts in the middle of some kind of an argument. Fantastic move. Love it. That's not all, because we get to the media reaction to all of These bits of news today, which is even better. Radio crew, we got to send you over to the commercial. See you in just a second. It's the Tony Kenned cast now over on the live stream. This is the part that I have been excited to share with you all day. I did. I woke up this morning really tired, took a questionable allergy medicine last night before I went to sleep and woke up very groggy and annoyed and was doom. Scrolling through social media to see Joy Behar make a little bit of an announcement that did in fact put a smile on my face.
Joy Behar
And before we go on hiatus, we only have one more show after this. I'm a little.
Tony Kennett
The View going on a hiatus. I'll say it ain't so, Joy.
Joy Behar
I have to say that.
Tony Kennett
Right. Too late now, so it doesn't really matter. Yeah.
Joy Behar
Before we go, I wanted to tell people that the tide is turning. The tide is turning. And things are.
Tony Kennett
Oh, the tide is turning, boys and girls. Ah, okay.
Joy Behar
Changing. I mean, the ultimate irony would be that Rupert Murdoch will take him down.
Tony Kennett
Yeah.
Joy Behar
Fox News, who created the monster, was. Will take him down.
Tony Kennett
So that clip sent over to us from MRC Newsbusters, two fantastic things from that. So apparently there is a hiatus that the View crew takes every year. They go on vacation over in the summertime just a little bit over to Martin Martha's Vineyards as soon as the National Guard scrapes away illegal immigrants in that lovely sanctuary location. But this time it's a little different because normally the hiatuses are very short and they are also pre announced. This one is not. And it comes at the time when CBS is again preparing to Cancel Colbert in 10 months and that E is also on the outs. So E, a news organization over on the left owned by NBCUniversal, is also scrapping a ton of its broadcasting as producer Nick wrote to put it on a more digital footprint, which is usually what someone says when they are reducing everything down to an AI blogger and an intern. Why? Why all of the media complete and utter collapse here right now because no one's watching. Because it sucks. Because it's not what Americans are looking for. Americans want one of two things. Number one, they want someone who is just going to be like Walter Cronkite and read them the evening news with Walter Cronkite. That's what they want. Number two, they want someone to read the news and. And then be funny about it. The problem is when you get politics in there, you get a lot of people who can't take a joke and can't laugh at their own side because everybody's political, everybody's got a bit of bias. And so when the left tries to kind of scoot back and say, now hang on a second here, you can't laugh at people on the left, that's not very funny at all. Watch a CNN panel for more than 10 minutes, you will see this take place without fail. Now, the funny thing about the View here is they claim the tide is turning because Trump is suing Murdoch and the Wall Street Journal. And it, it really should be said here that, well, it, it, it really should be said that it's not quite, it's not quite a, a Trump versus Murdoch situation as it is Trump versus the Wall Street Journal. On this particular instance, yes, Murdoch's named in the lawsuit. I don't know on what Hunter Biden crack pipe Joy Behar is taking a puff. But, and based on what we're finding out already about the Wall Street Journal accusations regarding Epstein letters and files and things, it's probably not going to go very well for them because the more that we are starting to look at here with the Democrats trying to get involved more and more on the Epstein side of things, and the more that Pam Bondi is starting to get her toes held to the fire just a little bit by the Trump administration over her handling of the Epstein releases. Well, now we're actually going to get into some specific actions and you do start to get into some questions because if we are going to bring a closer magnifying glass to how the Trump administration is handling certain operations, well, I mean, you know, you're going to run into some, some real sketchy stuff really quickly. So James Comer, the House Oversight Committee has now announced that they are bringing forward a list of approved subpoenas not only for Jelaine Maxwell, but also voting subpoenas for Bill and Hillary Clinton with or without tranquilizers. James Comey, Loretta Lynch, Eric Holder, Merrick Garland, Robert Muller, William Barr, Jeff Sessions and Alberto Gonzalez. And now we're going to start to look at some of these things a bit more chunk by chunk. And we're going to explain why this matters here in just a second here. We got to bring the radio crew back from commercial. They're about wrapped up. It all comes down to not being on camera for 10 seconds at a time. We'll be back in a second. It's the Tony Kenneth cast. An official message from Medicare. I'm saving money on my Medicare prescriptions.
Producer Nick
Maybe you can save, too, with Medicare's extra help program.
Tony Kennett

Tony Kennett
To find out, go to ssa.gov extrahelp paid for by the US Department of Health and Human Services. This is the Tony Kennett cast on 93 WYBC. There is a deeply satisfying part of this job. A deeply satisfying part of my job is not just, you know, looking around for the hottest clips on the Internet and then sharing them with you at 7pm One of the things that I enjoy the most about covering things in D.C. and sharing them with the rest of you is that they believe that you are only going to see what they post on social media. People in D.C. truly deep down believe that the only time you will see Senator Richard Blumenthal or Senator Maisie Hirono in front of your camera or excuse me, in front of you on screen is when they are standing on camera in shot for a 20 second sound clip for CNN or MSNBC or some kind of pre prepared statement. But it turns out that when the cameras roll just a little bit longer, you start to see the establishment politicians of Washington who are not only hopelessly out of touch with Americans, they're also hopelessly out of touch with their sanity. Case in point, Maisie Hirono. I told you in the last segment that right now the Senate is focused on trying to get through as many of the Trump appointments as possible. Democrats are trying to hold it up and they're not sure they're not bringing their best during the initial Trump appointments. Mazie Hirono from Hawaii, who might possibly be one of the dumbest members in US Governmental history. Again, quite a feat. She decided to talk and ask a couple of questions, for example, about dei. It really did not go well, but you have to see it anyway. Here you go.
Senator Richard Blumenthal
My concerns with Ms. Perot's nomination are numerous. Ms. Perot is a Fox News media personality. She does not have the professional qualifications or the prosecutorial ethics to serve as a U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia.
Tony Kennett
So she's going to make the case. Well, Pero is a broadcaster, so she doesn't have any of the abilities, she doesn't have any, any of the ethical qualifications to serve in a position. Now of course she ignores prior experience that shows that, you know, Pero's only qualifications are not just being a broadcaster. But of course she'll ignore that. She'll move right along because she has a narrative to play. She just doesn't realize that everyone else has access to a longer memory than a goldfish's five second attendance ban.
Senator Richard Blumenthal
In fact, she seems to have no concept of ethics at all. For starters, she perpetrated misinformation and lies about the 2020 presidential election. She was also formerly the subject of a federal investigation into illegal wiretapping over her attempts to get a former police commissioner to bug her then husband's boat to catch him cheating.
Tony Kennett
Notice that she again, notice that she didn't say, oh, you know, this particular individual, this, you know, Jeanine, she was in a situation where she was, you know, found guilty of this, that and the other. No, no, not in these particular instances. She is trying very specifically to discredit anyone that shows up in front of her. I will remind you that she has an interim U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia. She's also a former judge prosecutor. She's also done various kinds of political work and analysis outside of broadcasting. And that brings us over to Hirono's inability to not just read the room, but to read very basic Supreme Court situations. So at one point, Hirono, I guess, tries to go after one individual over like a Supreme Court case or any kind of a federal case on diversity, equity and inclusion.
Senator Richard Blumenthal
My concerns with Ms. Perot.
Tony Kennett
We'll get that clip in this particular in just a second here. Good old Senator Blumenthal. He's also trying to put the screws to the Trump administration. And in this case, he's trying to suggest that if the Trump administration goes and speaks to Ghislaine Maxwell of the Epstein case stuff, that this is somehow really bad for transparency. And he's trying to cook up a couple of good conspiracy theories. Again, people are watching this with a longer attention span than five seconds. But anyway, here he goes.
Senator Mazie Hirono
We have besieged and written and urged the Department of Justice to come clean with the American people. And instead, what's happening is one of the most corrupt misuses of power in the history of the Department of Justice. The deputy attorney general, Todd Blanch is about to go to a federal prison where Delaine Maxwell, a convicted felon involved in the Epstein trafficking of children, is going to be interviewed by him. Now, keep in mind that no ordinary person could have their personal henchmen in the Department of Justice go to secure cover up as a result of that kind of secret meeting and secret deal, giving her potentially a pardon for providing information favorable to.
Tony Kennett
Okay, that's bonkers. That's why I know I said that. Mazie Hirono may be the dumbest member of the Senate. Blumenthal does, in fact, take the cake. That's insane. First of all, federal. Federal law enforcement and officials from the DOJ visit with felons in prisons. Yeah, I would sure hope felons are in prison. Usually they're allowed to run freely throughout the. If they've just come over the border in. In pr. Yeah, of course she's in prison. Where else would she be? I mean, I guess if she had evidence leading to the arrest of Hillary Clinton, she wouldn't be with us right now. Uh, but as far as the. The argument that the only reason that Trump might send people to meet with Jelaine Maxwell, who just a couple of days ago, he and his colleagues were suggesting he would never. He would never send people to meet with Ghislaine. So do you or do you not want people to meet with Jelaine? He calls it a secret meeting. It's on the records, it's on the books. People are talking about it right now. We did, in fact, find that clip of Hirono with the DEI stuff. This is a chef's kiss moment.
Senator Richard Blumenthal
I do have one yes or no question for Mr. Hamilton.
Tony Kennett
If you have one yes or no question and you need to dig through a stack of papers to get to it, maybe you shouldn't be a sitting United States senator. Just. Just a hot take there.
Senator Richard Blumenthal
I know you're involved in DEI cases, but has any court opined that DEI is unconstitutional? Yes or no?
Tony Kennett
Yes.
Senator Richard Blumenthal
Which court?
Tony Kennett
The United States Supreme Court.
Senator Richard Blumenthal
I disagree with you because you're triggered talking about the Harvard case.
Tony Kennett
You can go read it yourself. You can go read it yourself. Correct? Correct. Now, I did a little bit of digging myself and found that there are, in fact, 63 cases at the federal level on which the. The terms equity, diversity and inclusion have been ruled against. And that's just in the last 20 years. It turns out that racial discrimination, there was kind of a big thing about that in this country called, you know, civil rights and that whole fight and that struggle. Maisie Hirono from Hawaii complaining about the Supreme Court ruling is, in fact, precious because Clarence Thomas, Alito, Justice John Roberts, Gorsuch, Kavanaugh, Barrett, they did not mince their words when talking about the principles of DEI and admissions. You are not allowed to say black people and brown people. Again, very ambiguous. Whatever brown means, those people are allowed in, and we're going to give them a low barrier of entry. And if we think that you are White, if we think that you're Jewish, if we think that you are Christian centric, which was on one Harvard forum, which is really bizarre because apparently Christians are race now. My God, you have to have, like, these extra steps to get in Asian individuals as well. So again, it is rather ironic for Maisie Hirono, who would in fact have a higher barrier of entry if she applied to Harvard University during this whole process, is now trying to make that defense. It doesn't quite work. Best of luck to you. And again, these are a few of the active lawsuits and committees right now that are going on that the entire country is watching despite kind of the social media atmosphere. Radio crew, we're gonna send you over to commercial. And up next, we've got Jerry Lopez for some of the awful tweets you have sent in. Dear sweet heaven above. They're some of the worst we've ever seen. It's the Tony Kenned cast. Now, as for other major lawsuits going on right now, I'm just gonna try to read them off to you because that's how many of these are in front of us at this moment in time. Attorney General Pam Bonney this afternoon announced the Department of Justice is suing the city of New York and Mayor Eric Adams for continuing to obstruct law enforcement with sanctuary city policies. If New York's leaders won't step up to protect their citizens, we will. As I have said before, there is no law on the books at the local level, at the state level, or at the federal level which allows a state's attorney general or a state's governor to direct law enforcement, not to work with federal authorities. The last time this happened, and it was, let's say, debated, was Fort Sumter, and that didn't go very well. So in this particular instance, again, I think that New York City should probably go the route of, you know, like a more moderate. Given the Adams, mom, dummy Cuomo election issue, I think that maybe they go the way of Louisville and cut the sanctuary city crap. But again, as we'll talk about, well, again, don't have to necessarily hear it for me. As Representative Yvette Clark of New York City puts it, she needs the migrants in order for redistricting to, well, favor Democrats.
Producer Nick
I'm from Brooklyn, New York. We have a diaspora that can absorb a significant number of these migrants. And when I hear colleagues talk about the doors of the inn being closed, no room in the inn, I'm saying, you know, I need more people in my district just for redistricting purposes. And Those members could. Could clearly fit here.
Tony Kennett
Now, we're going to talk about redistricting in a little bit because this is where all of the lawsuits are headed. But I should also point out that, again, the Trump administration won a major victory regarding Columbia University. So Maisie Hirono can lose her mind over the Harvard University situation. But Columbia University has caved over to the Trump team by agreeing to pay a penalty of $200 million for civil rights. For civil rights violations and violating federal law, and $20 million to employees at Columbia University who were unlawfully targeted and harassed by the pro Palestine crowd. Columbia also not only committed to ending DEI policies and various programs at the university which incorporated these discriminatory actions, they also agreed to oversight. The Trump administration has a say in. That's a pretty big deal. That's something that Iran can't even agree to regarding the dust that used to be their nuclear program. Now, that brings us over to a huge win from the U.S. court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. They have now blocked Oregon's adoption policy that required parents to affirm a child's pronouns and gender identity. So in California and in Oregon and several other states at the moment, Colorado has a softer version of this particular law, states that in order for parents to gain custody of their children in some kind of a dispute or retain custody of their children in a CPS situation, they have to affirm any gender transitions that the child might be going through. And it turns out that the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals says, no, that's not a thing. The pronoun crew, the LGBTQ25, whatever, is not a protected class in the United States. And this will eventually boil down to the last group that Democrats are trying to build a little class corps around, and it's Somalians, which is. I got. I don't know if I would have. If I'd have had that on bat. Producer Nick I don't know if I would have been like, all right, so we've got LGBTQ +2,5, whatever. We got your Hispanic, brown people, and then Somalians. That's kind of going from, like, larger to more specific, I think. Don't you find that a little odd?
Jerry Lopez
Yeah, I do wonder if eventually it'll get down to being so specific. It'll be feta.
Tony Kennett
Yeah, I think so. We gotta bring a radio crew in. It's the Tony Kennedcast. Awful tweets. Awful tweets. The ones that no one ever deletes. Awful tweets. Awful tweets. On the Tony Kennett show on 93WYPC. It's been too long since I've heard that bumper on in here. Jerry Lopez Indie Spanglish over on X. It's good to have you. We have got a selection of some of the worst social media posts.
Harry Sisson
I think this one surprised me a bit because of all these complaints online.
Tony Kennett
Sorry, little Harry Enton clip for later. We have gotten so many social media posts sent in since you've been traveling around the world. It's good to have you back, man. How are you doing?
Producer Nick
Hey, man, it's good to be back. I think I text you last night. Super excited to have it today. And yeah, we're back, baby.
Tony Kennett
Awful tweets. Works like this. You guys send in some of the worst social media posts because people who do not browse these horrible platforms, they need to know the general tone of, well, how the rest of the country is doing. And all I can say from the left side of the aisle, not very well. Up first from Yvette d'. Etrement. She says so or he says, I can't really tell, to be honest with you. So Hulk Hogan died. As a former Gawker writer, as are all Gawker writers, thanks to Hulk Hogan. I won't be the first or the last to say bleep that guy. Dance on any grave you want to, but this one's mine. Holy crap, Jerry.
Producer Nick
I mean, there, there's something that goes like even my enemies, I don't wish death on him. Joe Biden got sick. I didn't wish death on him. But there's something people got to remember about Gawker. They lost $140 million lawsuit for, for, you know, putting out Hulk Hogan's tape. So she lost her job because they messed up.
Tony Kennett
Yeah. I gotta say, Timu, Dylan Mulvaney here, I. There's a reason that they are former writers for that publication. It's because Hulk Hogan beat the living crap out of them in court. Now, again, there's. There's some other ugly things today, too. This blue sky is obviously a cesspool that we love returning to or at least those of you who send in things. This was sent into me today from a guy named Craig Calcatera. Says he posts a picture of Hulk Hogan and President Trump and says he's getting closer, brother, alluding to the Grim Reaper getting closer to Al Offing Trump. Again, these are just the most pleasant of people.
Producer Nick
I mean, listen, first of all, there's a lot to be said about blue sky. I heard allegedly. If you really want the Epstein list You can just log in and write down all the usernames there. But it's kind of crazy that people are wishing death on anybody. Like, it's a sad time. This is a real person. Their family's having issues. Like, we all grew up Hulkamaniacs. Like, it's dumb. It's dumb.
Tony Kennett
It is. It's atrocious. But I'll bring you a different Blue sky post as a palate cleanser. Jen Rubin, former Washington Post columnist. She's got a few words for the rest of us. She says, for her courageous defense of immigrants and her tenacity in tackling intractable issues. Dug out the thesaurus for this one while defying critics who wrote her. Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass deserves our respect. Today we honor her for personifying her city's resilience, humanity, and undaunted spirit. Jerry, are you undaunted and inspired?
Producer Nick
Unless that spirit's going on vacation while your city's burning down, I don't really know what she's referring to. Tony, if you're an elected official, a mayor you're beholden to, like, federal law, and if she's stopping people from being deported, she's not doing her job.
Tony Kennett
I'll be honest with you. Nothing screams Los Angeles to me. More the spirit of Los Angeles as flying to Africa for a photo shoot while the rest of your city is in chaos. Can I get an Angelina Jolie? Sorry. Excuse me. All right, moving on here. We've got this from Chris Hayes, who had to post this on Blue sky because I don't think he could have handled posting this on X. He says not really an overstatement to say that a test of a free society is whether or not comedians can make fun of the country's leader on TV without repercussions. I guess he's talking about Stephen Colbert here getting canceled 10 months from now.
Producer Nick
Right. Like, you got to be able to speak your mind. My family's from Cuba, and it's never lost on me that I have the opportunity to come in and critique our government. And that's a huge deal. But there's way more to this. Like, I don't know if you can see this guy's face, but he has bitter beer face. There's a problem going on at Blue Sky.
Tony Kennett
Little bit. All right, we're gonna. We're gonna move over to a video that I have been saving. I'm. I submitted this one. Senator Alyssa Slotkin from Michigan, who they trotted out after Trump's kind of State of the Union style address. To give the response. She's supposed to be the angry mom of the Democrat party. Or should I say the mom. Cuz they're all angry. She decides she's gonna connect with the rest of the country like Tim Wallace does. Remember when he was, was, you know, planning out throwing interceptions when he, you know, getting out the Madden, planning out a pick six.
Producer Nick
Is that when he said he was code switching for white people?
Tony Kennett
Oh yeah, yeah. So, so Elisa Slotkin, she gets out the sports references. This one is just for you. I love this one. Binging that it's all bad.
Candace Owens
But by charting a strategy from beginning to end on how we get through this moment. And we will.
Tony Kennett
For God's sakes people, the Detroit Lions.
Candace Owens
Are going to win the national championship.
Tony Kennett
And the super bowl and they were.
Candace Owens
In the toilet for years.
Tony Kennett
So awkward. Laughter from.
Producer Nick
I mean first of all, they're not, they're not going to win the national championship. They're not going to win the national championship because that's for college football buffoon. They're going to. They're NFL maybe if you want to give them that the championship. But I'll be fair.
Tony Kennett
I'll be fair. If the Detroit Lions work really, really hard, maybe they can win the Wimbledon. And look, I mean, I'm just going to say that Ozzy Smith is out with tennis elbow for the rest of the season. There's no way they're going to pull the Seattle Browns offsides. You know.
Producer Nick
Also Tony needs to be said Detroit is good because they sucked for so long. You can only get the first pick in the draft so many times where you got to be good.
Tony Kennett
So I will say there is a baseball player from Savannah that went on cnn and we've watched this clip so many times in the studio in the last hour. It's. It's truly fantastic. Have you seen the backflip on cnn? Have you seen this yet?
Producer Nick
I have not.
Tony Kennett
Oh, well, then this is for everyone. I bring you cinema.
Joy Behar
Oh, Jesus.
Tony Kennett
That never happens.
Senator Mazie Hirono
That, that what you just saw there.
Tony Kennett
Is a brand new twist on America's favorite pastime. So he goes for the backflip on national network television. He's like, I got this. And then in front of God and everybody just oh, Jesus. Yeah, come on, Jerry. I mean the leftist networks in their sports, you know what I'm saying?
Producer Nick
I'm not gonna be a hater. At least he went for it. At least he went for it. Dude, most Democrats don't even try. So I give them kudos for that. Savannah bananas. I'm A big fan of. But if you're gonna do a backflip, you better nail that thing.
Tony Kennett
Nick, what'd you say?
Jerry Lopez
I love the immediate that never happens response from the man after utterly bouncing his skull off the floor.
Tony Kennett
That never happened. It's great.
Producer Nick
Sweet. If somebody said, you guys can edit this like you did the Kamala interview, right? Just edit that out.
Tony Kennett
Well, you know, all right, here we got. We got a couple more awful tweets people are messaging. We got a few more that are just excellent stuff here. This is from Ryan Nobles, lead investigator into Biden's use of the auto pen. Signed letters with a digital signature. So he's saying that James Comer from the House oversight committee investigating Biden's auto pen use, he used, like, DocuSign to digitally sign documents.
Producer Nick
Come on, dude.
Tony Kennett
Which, by the way, that is federal policy to digitally sign things. That's. That's been for a long time.
Producer Nick
I'm gonna buy Joe. I'm buying Joe Biden's auto pin off TEMU right now. I'll send you one.
Tony Kennett
Oh, dude, I'd be all over that. If someone out there knows how we can get, like, a replica auto pen on the set. That sounds fantastic.
Producer Nick
I'll send my kids to schools with, like, letters to miss school signed by Joe Biden. I promise you I will.
Tony Kennett
Oh, fantastic. All right, so the next one is from. From one of the fan favorites here, Harry Sisson. So he. He decides that it's time for some gym selfies. All right, we're going to show MAGA again. We're going to connect with them. We did the sports. Now we're going to talk about some working out, right? So he says if these MAGA fanboy losers hit the gym or went outside, maybe they wouldn't feel so bad about themselves and would stop taking out their insecurities on other people. And if you look at the picture, something ain't qu. Because his right arm looking pretty tone there.
Joy Behar
Good.
Tony Kennett
Good amount of muscle definition. The left arm, though, Jerry did something a little wrong with his photo.
Producer Nick
Did he Photoshop that arm? Dude, did he Photoshop that arm? That arm looks really skinny.
Tony Kennett
I mean, that's a. That would be impressive for Photoshopping. If he didn't, then the other. I'm saying he's got. He's got Fiddler Crab two different. He, like, took someone else's arm and, like, Photoshopped it onto his own. That'd be great. I think that maybe he's just been spending maybe a little too much alone time, you know? What I'm saying, that's the right.
Producer Nick
Too many one man, one man exercises.
Tony Kennett
All I can say is if, if, you know, if people, people should at least find you handsome, you know, so all that stuff aside, Jerry Lopez, awful tweets, really stellar stuff. I have one more for you just because I knew, I knew you would love this. So we'll get, we'll skip over Elizabeth Warren here. The Democrats posted a graph. US grocery prices reached record highs in 2025. And they have a graph that goes all the way back to 2019. Jerry, do you know, do you know when it is that the grocery prices start skyrocketing?
Producer Nick
Wasn't that, I mean, Biden was the, was the president? It's, you know, Covid has a big part to do with that. But I mean, does nobody actually read, does somebody read grocery prices are cheaper?
Tony Kennett
I mean, Maisie Hirono, I mean, now you've got the Democrat. If you're going to do comms, if you're going to get out there and you're going to dunk, at least know what it is that you're doing. Don't give your opponents an easy one up. But that's, that's classic stuff. Jerry Lopez, indie Spanglish over on X. Thanks for another excellent week of awful tweets, my dude.
Producer Nick
Appreciate you, brother. I'll see you next Thursday.
Tony Kennett
Well, radio crew will send you over to commercial. We'll continue on the live stream because we have a little bit more to talk about. It's the Tony Kenneth Castle. Okay. In the meantime, I was, it was brought to my attention some of, probably the, the strangest comments made by some individuals who are no longer fans of Trump. They, they used to be kind of fans of, of President Trump. They used to kind of be a fan of, of certain things over on the right. And now because of Trump's foreign policy specifically, they're very, very, very upset at him. Like, they're really mad, like, just outraged. And these individuals believe that the only place to be at, at any given point in time is Twitter. So what you saw in our awful tweet segment is a lot of people who believe the entire world exists only on social media. They never get off of it. They're called perpetually online. And one of the individuals who is perpetually online, who believes that right now all Republicans in the country are really, really mad at Trump and they're angry about it, is Candace Owens. And Candace Owens, whose abilities involve some really good natural broadcasting talent mixed with horrible illiteracy, decides that this is the moment to take it all out on Donald Trump. And it's, it's, it's special.
Candace Owens
Literally last night he was going, Mark Levin. Yeah, watch the Mark Levin Show. Mark Levin was quite literally one of the original never Trumpers. Like, hello, wake up. Stop watching Fox News. Trump. The base is not with Mark Levin. Okay?
Tony Kennett
Remember that. The base is not with Mark. Now, depending on your positions on Mark Levin's foreign policy takes putting those aside for a second, the argument the base is not with Trump on foreign policy. That's a move, that is a, that is a claim to make. But I'll let her, I'll let her finish here.
Candace Owens
Anybody telling you that Trump. Just look at these polls. Oh, everybody loves what you're doing. They're lying to you. That's what they're doing. They're putting him in a vacuum. Neoconja around him.
Tony Kennett
Yes. J.D. vance, notable neocon. Mm, yeah, that's it. Yes, I'm sure. Barron Trump, notable neocon. Every morning waking up and zapping him with, with George Bush rays. Yes, of course.
Candace Owens
And they're treating him like he's like an old grandpa in a home. Like, look, just watch. Look at Fox News is telling you that your base loves this.
Tony Kennett
The man was scaling scaffolding in 95 degree heat today. I don't think anybody's treating Trump like he's an old man.
Candace Owens
And he doesn't understand that the base is not with Fox News. That's just my honest perception. He has no idea which way the wind is blowing right now because the people around him have infiltrated the movement and now they're lying there. That's what they're doing.
Tony Kennett
Yes, yes, yes. Now certainly if we played certain older clips of Candace Owens saying the exact opposite, then we would see maybe a little bit more of who moved. But let's look at that claim. It's an interesting claim to make. The base isn't with him. Well, let's take a look at this. Here's that Harry Anton clip I mentioned earlier. It appears that Candace might be. What's the word here? Dead freaking wrong.
Harry Sisson
I mean, look, I think this one surprised me a bit because of all these complaints online going after Trump and the Epstein files. You might think his approval ratings were going down. Republicans. If anything, they're going up. Republicans who approve Trump. Look at our CNN poll. The prior one, 86%. The one out this week, 88% were Republicans. How about Quinnipiac? The prior poll, 87% approval. Republicans this week out, 90% with Republicans. If anything, Donald Trump's approval rating has gone up since this whole Epstein saga started.
Tony Kennett
Now, we don't have time to play the rest of this particular clip. But one thing fascinated me. So they asked their entire polling crew here, the entire group, how many of you, like, what do you say is the most important issue to you right now? Candace Owens is making the case that it is Israel and Epstein. And everyone's really mad about this and everyone's mad at Israel and they're mad about Epstein. Of all of the people that responded, one said that was their biggest issue, not 1% one. So we'll be back in a second. Don't go anywhere. It's the Tony Kenneth cast. It's the Tony Kenneth cast on 93 Wipes. I like that. The, the regulate reference and bring in a little bit of regulate there. That's nice. Welcome back to the Tony Kidded cast. Boys, Girls and Squirrels. Let's finish up this evening by talking a little bit about some really good news. Now, I'm not going to claim credit for this. I can't. I don't have any direct evidence. And believe me, I called this afternoon the daily signals journalism fellow, Jacob Adams, he has a new report out, quote, lara Trump opts out of North Carolina Senate race, clearing the way for the RNC chief, Michael Whatley, if he wants to get involved. And I was thrilled to see this news because if you have joined us for a little bit of a while here, you'll know that I have said over and over and over again, amen. That Lara Trump should not run for the Senate. Because where Lara Trump has been the most effective ever in history was when she was co chair of the rnc, when, and this is the real secret, you want to know why the Democrats are losing it right now over redistricting, why they can't really respond to anything in the Trump administration. Why even in moments where there are stalled momentum moments like there's moments where the Trump administration hits a snag and the Democrats have an open window and they can't hit anything, it is because the Republicans realized after 2022 that the people like Carrie Lake, you put in positions that were not constantly running for office, that the more boisterous voices in maga, the populists, right, those who are on the influencer side, you put those in positions of going out to do the campaigning, not running for office, you put them in the guerrilla campaign, hitting the left with the receipts, tackling them on ideological issues, scouring social media, scouring history, proposing policies. And then you take the serious Individuals, you put them in the campaign slots and then you run them. And you have the populists essentially running the more professional voices. And I'm not talking about establishment like RINO guys, because there have been a lot of people who have been elected to positions that have proven to have been rather professional. Senator McCormick from Pennsylvania is one of them. But still be very American first kind of populist in their actual policies. So Lara Trump not running for Senate. Do I think she would have made a good senator? Yeah, I think it would have been. I think that she, if I got my druthers right now, because her not running for Senate is something I have wanted very, very, very muchly. I want someone who is going to go up against Roy Cooper, who North Carolinians already like. I want them to essentially have no targets whatsoever for him to throw a punch at and go for that election. I want Lara Trump to again co chair with Whatley through the midterms. It is time to unlike the DNC right now as Ken Martin, who's a little sad and kind of like that, like, very upset. He's like that droopy blue dog on like the Looney Tunes. Oh, dear. The Republicans need a guerrilla campaign strategy for 2026. We've been saying for years, oh, they don't spend money on this candidate. Oh, they're not taking this campaign seriously. Two co chairmen, Lara Trump, Michael Watley, the Classical experience and the Trump rugged populace. Get out there and hit him in the face. You pair that up and you do it again. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Now from that, we get to the redistricting stuff. This is where a lot of news has been driving the Democrats absolutely bonkers. And I think we actually have to go back to a different segment for the clips on this, but it's worth it because it is a very much a wow moment here. So the Democrats in the present time have their heads up, one of three things. They're still really trying to hit the Epstein stuff, which doesn't work. We already talked about that with Blumenthal. They have a desperate love of Somalia. We'll probably have to hit that in bonus tonus because it's really bizarre. And then number three, they've got redistricting. So the New York Times released an article. I could not believe it. The New York Times put forward an article suggesting that Democrats have few tools to counter Republican redistricting. Quote, states where Democrats would have complete control over any redistricting, such as Illinois and Maryland are already gerrymandered heavily in their favor. Squeezing more Democrat seats out of those states would be a challenge. So right now, I really can't believe they published this. The Democrats are saying, okay, we want to finagle our state representative and allotment maps to be contrived in these strange tumor ridden pasta pieces. I mean, you've seen these things are horrible. They're all weird shapes. It's like a dyslexic person tried to design like a shapes puzzle. Children's book. It's awful. It's atrocious. If someone did stained glass in the manner of these electoral maps, they would be fired and beaten with sticks. It's like schizophrenia mixed with Picasso. No straight lines, only weird, jaggedy ones. All right, that's enough analogies for a second. Gerrymandering has gone on for a long time because state legislatures decide how congressional seats are apportioned, and so they try to maximize the number of seats in power. Everyone does this. Is there any solution to this? Nope, not really. Maybe if the census wasn't so contrived and we used state censuses instead of the federal census, you'd have something a little bit different. But then Democrats are very mad because they have already gerrymandered the absolute hell out of every blue state. Look at an electoral college map or a congressional map of Illinois and try not to turn your head like a dog asking a question while you're looking at the map. It's insane. Now, Texas is going to be doing some redistricting. Florida as well. That case was just upheld. Hence why this was in the every lawsuit at one segment here and the Democrats are losing it. So Jasmine Crockett gets out here and says that if the Democrats had their druthers, essentially they would redistrict the entire country and gerrymander everything so they would be in control of the House. Very weird thing to admit openly, but again, when you're Jasmine Crockett and your hobbies include yelling epithets outside a speedway at three in the morning and other Hunter Biden esque crackhead activities, I assume there's really not much else you can do here. Is Jasmine Crockett they're talking about?
Representative Jasmine Crockett
They're starting to cheat. They've been cheating. Right now we should be in power. We should be the ones that are controlling the House.
Tony Kennett
Well, then you shouldn't have run. Transgender children and open borders, sweetheart.
Representative Jasmine Crockett
The only thing that they know how to do is be crooked, draw crooked lines and tell crooked lies. So I am here to tell you.
Tony Kennett
She learned a new Word. She learned the word crooked. Good for her. I'm glad. That's some personal growth. You know, it was an easy one.
Jerry Lopez
Because it rhymes with Crockett.
Tony Kennett
You're in timeout that if you think.
Representative Jasmine Crockett
That you can just roll over the Democrats. It is a new day.
Tony Kennett
You see, here we go with, with Joy Behar. The tides are turning. It's a new day where even Axios pointed out in an article this morning the Trump administration has secured more victories on campaign promises than any presidential campaign in history. As far as providing promises and then delivering on those. A lot due to executive orders. A lot due to the swelling size of the fourth estate. Not journalism. The fourth estate being the executive behemoth. I'm not really seeing what. Because some people on Twitter are mad about Pam Bondi goofing up communications. Really.
Representative Jasmine Crockett
And I am looking forward to making sure that we can respond in kind if they want to play because we already know that our lines are already jacked up. I already gave you the numbers. You can play with them more if you want to.
Tony Kennett
The New York Times just said you can't play with them anymore. If you want to, though. What are you going to do? Her district already looks like a shower drain filled with hair. It's a nightmare. Radio crew. We are unfortunately on the outside of the Time section here. We're going to continue on the livestream. Thanks for joining us. It's the Tony Kinnit cast here on the Daily Signal, nationally syndicated and first on 93 WIBC. All right. I do, I do want to get you through a few things here and then we're going to take a couple of mail time questions for tonight because again, incredible here.
Representative Jasmine Crockett
But just know I' ma spend every waking day until now, isn't it?
Tony Kennett
Every waking moment, waking day. Do you, don't you always wake up.
Representative Jasmine Crockett
Every day between now and November to.
Tony Kennett
Make sure November win of next year.
Representative Jasmine Crockett
Or this year that not only these new seats that you try to draw, if that's what you try to do, that we win those seats, but maybe it's time for us to take some other seats that are sitting up here right now because they're not doing their jobs anyway.
Tony Kennett
So her argument is if you redistrict to very Republican heavy areas, then maybe we'll just go win those seats. Well, then if, if your campaigns were so effective that you could go win elections anyway, then why are you upset? Just win the seat. Are you gonna not try to win certain seats anyway? This line of logic never fails to amaze me because The Democrats essentially have two points of action here. We're gonna use every legal loophole we can and if that doesn't work, we're gonna get violent. There's never a, well, we're just gonna try harder and be better people. There was a small group, I will remind those who have listened to the show before of this again. Adam Wren from Politico had written an article on something no one else at all wanted to cover. Nobody. They made the. The Adam Wren article showed that there was a group of democrats after the 2024 election that met in Virginia. And while meeting in Virginia, they decided, hey, maybe we should start like going to church. Maybe we should visit, you know, like a, a gun club. Maybe we should visit a, you know, kind of a. An arms convention, a gun show. Maybe we should go out and meet people and fly American flags and be more pro military and things like that. And the DNC essentially disbarred that group from the Democrat Party because being more appealing to voters after 2022, when Carrie Lake lost again and was about to lose again in 24, but we'll get to that later. A lot of the Republican Party said, wait a minute, maybe we don't run the guy that paid his wife to have an abortion, you know, in this case. And maybe we don't run the guy that's got a really sketchy past and the news anchor out of Arizona who again, very passionate but not good at campaigning. Maybe we actually run people that can win and they're not stupid kind of a concept. Democrats, they can't do it. They just can't do it. And this brings us over to the Somalians. Last but not least, the Democrats have found their new wonderful little Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie focal moment here. And this is people from Somalia. So in Maine and in Minnesota, there are individuals who have immigrated over from Somalia, which, by the way, wonderful. If you emigrate to this country legally and you assimilate into the United States, I truly don't care where you're from, as long as once you get here, you come through the legal process, you are then an American. You're not a Chinese American, you're not a Swedish American, you're not an Israeli American, you're not a South African American, you're not a Kenyan American, you're just an American. Don't care. That should be the standard assimilation again, the classic Ellis island approach. But there is an increasing number of people who have emigrated from other countries who have decided to make their entire identity around a war torn, crappy country that they come from. Now, I can't really go into detail about this on air. I have a little bit more knowledge maybe than the average person on Somalia and Somaliland and why it is one of the worst places on earth and not just in a governmental way. The people who are currently fighting over power in Somalia, the cultural groups represented there are very, very, very much hated by neighboring countries in Africa because of the quality of the culture that is promoted there quite frequently. And in the United States, there was a new trend in the Democrat Party of representatives at state level. And not to mention Ilhan Omar, obviously, we know Ilhan Omar from, you know, coming over from Africa to the United States. Some questions about a brother talking about Somalia being your home. Sure. There's been some other concerns recently about Omar Fateh, who has been given the democratic blessing in the upcoming Minneapolis mayor's race. Now we've got a few more who are saying just some very strange things that American citizens traditionally do not say. So Maine State Representative Mana Adbi is the first one up here.
Representative Mana Adbi
Anything. So coming into the states, everything from the snow to, you know, the, the housing, the homes that, that we were all of a sudden occupying, everything was a shock, Honestly. Every day was something new. And I'm like, oh, my God, this is just getting worse.
Producer Nick
Yeah.
Representative Mana Adbi
So.
Tony Kennett
So what state did you guys learn? First of all?
Representative Mana Adbi
Kansas. Kansas City, of all places. Yeah, it's like a boot camp for Maine, basically.
Tony Kennett
Oh, really?
Representative Mana Adbi
Yeah, because it's just like, right? Like, I mean, anyone who lives in Maine know and has ever visited Kansas, they will know what I'm talking about. It's just. It's just a lot.
Tony Kennett
I'm. Hold on a second here. Isn't Maine just as cold in the winter, if not colder than Kansas is very weird stuff.
Jerry Lopez
Also much worse.
Tony Kennett
Worse. And I'm sorry, I do have to point out coming into the country and then just saying, yeah, Kansas sucked. I hated it. I hated the people. I hated where we were. I hated the houses we were occupying. Why are you here then? Go home. If you don't like it here, you don't have to stay. Representative Decca Delak said some of the same stuff.
Joy Behar
Policies. How can the politics in Somalia can be, you know, resonate what we have here in the United States, the democracy that we have, how can you help us, you know, be a better country.
Tony Kennett
Help Somalia be a better country and.
Joy Behar
Build back what we used to have back in long time ago. So hopefully we will be able to help our country, our former country, Somalia.
Tony Kennett
And I'm Sorry, the Freudian slips are just a bit too much. Either this is your country or it's not. Or it's not. I'm again, and I am more than happy to see any individual out there who, if you are a private citizen and you believe that there is a cultural group or country out there around the world that you want to support, sure, fine. That doesn't really bother me. But when you start talking about policy decisions, whether it be, again, whether it be Somalia, whether it be the uk, whether it be Israel, whether it be South Africa, whether it be India, I don't care where you come from, but once you are here running for office, your primary duty is to your people. Your people. And by the way, I say that as the, the little evangelical Baptist who is in fact very, very pro Israel in a lot of foreign policy. But if you are running for office and you talk a lot more, not just in foreign policy stances, but in, well, we need to make sure that Israel does this and does that and does it well, then go there. Same with Somalia. Go there. Same Canada, the uk I don't care. There are a lot of individuals out there who have decided that you are running as Miss America. They get you on stage and they say, like, what would you do if you could have anything in the world? Or what do you think about the world situation? And it's this, this glassy eyed gal. It's like Miss Nevada. She's like, yes, I think, well, then we should help people in the, the Iraq and the world peace. And then the, you know, the moderator says thank you and you know, leads them back to, you know, the swimsuit portion of the competition. Producer Nick, I'm worried what you might have to say. What do you got?
Jerry Lopez
I think it just speaks to the mentality of the new wave of immigrants that are coming here. America is a place where you don't go to find a better life, improve your family. It's somewhere you go to, to take from. A lot of these workers take money and send it home to their countries. And now we have politicians that come here to take political capital and resources to send to their countries.
Tony Kennett
Yeah, it's, it's. I'm, I'm being complimented on my, my princess, my princess wave. Also, Daniel Elmore's pointing out that you have, you, you've broken your time out. Oh, you know what? What? Nobody puts baby in the corner. Well, he'll be more flexible with those. All right, we'll be back tomorrow to round out the week with a couple of, of great things. On. We're not gonna play the Randy Weingarten yelling clip tonight. We'll make that a special for tomorrow. Thanks for joining us again. If you have joined. I saw we did have someone who joined the YouTube channel during the show. Thank you very much. We're thrilled to have you here. There's a link to the discord down in the description. We've got a lot of great stuff coming out as a joy, as always, as it is to suffer through the news cycle. With you, I'm Tony Kennett and this is the Daily Signals Tony Kinnit cast on national syndicated with through radio, TV, podcast and first out of 93 WYBC. Take care.
The Tony Kennett Cast - Episode 371 Summary
Title: Trump Defies Dem. Judges, Columbia Caves, The View on Hiatus, Democrats ❤️ Somalia
Host: Tony Kennett
Release Date: July 25, 2025
Platform: The Daily Signal’s flagship program, nationally syndicated on radio, TV, and livestreaming services.
Timeframe: [00:04 – 07:09]
Tony Kennett opens the episode by discussing President Donald Trump's approach to appointing and confirming members to his senior cabinet. Kennett emphasizes Trump's selection of "mavericks" who are unafraid to confront media figures and Democrats, suggesting a bold and unconventional strategy:
"He picked a kind of wide range of mavericks who had no problem... saying no." [00:04]
Kennett notes that the Trump administration is operating at a rapid pace, partly by design, given the limited timeframe before midterm elections. He highlights the administration’s efficiency in moving agendas forward, making it challenging for the media to keep up.
Timeframe: [00:04 – 09:50]
Kennett delves into the contentious appointment of Alina Haba as the U.S. Attorney in New Jersey. He recounts how Democrats, led by House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, pressured federal judges to remove Haba after she charged Representative Lamonica McIver ("Kool Aid man") for an incident involving a federal agent.
"President Trump appointed Alina Haba to be the U.S. attorney in New Jersey. The Democrats got really, really angry about it... Donald Trump replaces Alina Haba with Alina Haa." [04:20]
Kennett criticizes the Democrats' tactics, labeling the maneuver to replace Haba as unethical. He further explains that the Department of Justice has the authority to appoint or remove interim attorneys, highlighting Trump's strategic replacement of Haba with her deputy, Desiree Grace.
Timeframe: [07:09 – 09:50]
A significant portion of the episode focuses on the strained relationship between Trump and Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell. Kennett discusses Trump’s dissatisfaction with Powell’s handling of interest rates, especially after Powell lowered rates before the 2020 election, which Trump views as politically motivated.
"Trump is really not a fan of Jerome Powell, not lowering interest rates with a bit of an asterisk here." [07:09]
Kennett narrates an interaction where Trump confronts Powell over federal building budget overruns, only to find that Powell cannot substantiate the claims. The exchange underscores the tension and mistrust between the administration and the Federal Reserve.
Timeframe: [09:11 – 17:01]
The discussion shifts to media dynamics, particularly the announcement by Joy Behar from "The View" about the show's hiatus.
"Before we go on hiatus, we only have one more show after this." – Joy Behar [10:33]
Kennett criticizes the abrupt hiatus, noting that it coincides with broader media cancellations, including shows like "Colbert" and shifts at MSNBC's "E". He attributes these changes to declining viewership, suggesting that audiences prefer straightforward news delivery or satirical commentary without political bias.
Timeframe: [17:01 – 25:13]
