Tony Kennett, host of THE Tony Kennett cast. Let's get down to business. You're listening to the Tony Kennett cast on 93 WIBC on CYTV here on Good evening and welcome to the Tony Knitcast here on the Daily Signal, nationally syndicated first on 93 WIBC. And a very good evening to you from Israel. In Jerusalem, where I have been going all around the old City all day, I got a chance to view the Church of the Resurrection and the amazing, just incredible nature of the city and its people, to look at a lot of the myths that are currently swirling around, tour a lot of museums and talk with a lot of people over the day. So if my voice sounds a little bit tired, if I sound a little bit exhausted, I absolutely am. But while I was contemplating scratching the hairs on my chinny chin chin, deciding whether or not we were going to continue with the show this evening, or maybe something exceptionally abbreviated because this was the Monday of Mondays, on this kind of a trip, I got a certain text because back home in the beautiful Monday morning of the United States, President Trump stepped up in front of the American people and made one of the greatest announcements of his administration. I don't even have time to tell you to wait before I give you my opinion on it. It's an excellent thing. Here you go.
Donald Trump
I'm announcing a historic action to rescue our nation's capital from crime, bloodshed, bedlam and squalor and worse. This is Liberation Day in D.C. and we're going to take our capital back. We're taking it back. Under the authorities vested in me as the president of the United States, I'm officially invoking Section 740 of the District of Columbia Home Rule act, you know what that is, and placing the D.C. metropolitan Police Department under direct federal control. And you'll be meeting the people that will be directly involved with that. Very good people, but they're tough and they know what's happening and they've done it before. In addition, I'm deploying the National Guard to help reestablish law, order and public safety in Washington, D.C. and they're going to be allowed to do their job properly again.
Tony Kennett
This is an excellent thing. I've said it before. The President of the United States needed to federalize Washington D.C. washington D.C. as we know it really should not exist. All of those residences and all the people living there. Again, with some of my colleagues over here on right leaning radio shows, talk shows over here on our delegation in Israel, we had a fun argument on the bus because I promptly decided to, in my very Hoosier fashion, say Washington D.C. stinks. It is a festering, swampish hellhole and should never have existed in the first place. And realistically, you could take the federal buildings, and by that I mean Congress in the Capitol, I mean the Supreme Court, a couple of the monuments in the White House. You carve those out in a special little bubble, and the rest of that nasty garbledygook mess should go to Maryland and or Virginia, in that order. And you know, some residents of D.C. said, well, no, it used to be a really nice city. And I hear you, I do. There were times, I bet, where Washington D.C. may have been a nice place to be around. But unfortunately, as many big cities do, they ran into the habit of electing trash. And of course, by that I mean Democrats who are focused on giving out free wonderful goodness and telling the police they can't do their job. It turns out that big cities that go down that path never leave that path. Additionally, the constitutional errors of allowing DC to be some type of separate voting entity, therefore creating a nightmare of pseudo taxation without pseudo representation, is ridiculous, never should have been allowed to persist as long as it had. And so not only is the Trump administration sending in like 8, 800 National Guardsmen, an excellent thing. And not only is Trump appointing Attorney General Pam Bonney to oversee the Metro Police Department, also a very good thing. I bet there's a lot of officers that are in the privacy of their own homes this evening breathing a sigh of relief. And you say, well, what? So they can be fascist against the people? I will remind you that since body cameras have been established as a requirement for police departments, the body camera footage has not exactly shown the hordes of innocent, sweet, kind victims who are being beaten down by mean, stinky, horrible police officers that I was promised. Instead, I've seen a lot of feral animals of every race, color and creed attacking police officers. I've seen a lot of cops treated like absolute garbage because people have gotten away with being entitled brats for far too long and disregarding the laws that are on the books. And I'm so sorry. It is not tyranny to expect that in a large city, individuals follow the law so that business, commerce and soc commence in a peaceful fashion. If you think that's tyranny, you're ridiculous. Among other r words. So along that the announcement follows a weekend shooting in the navy yard involving a juvenile suspect reporting loot. A looting incident by 20 to 30 teams. Excuse me, 20 to 30 teens. So we're just reenacting Lord of the flies at a convenience store. And then the media started losing their stuff. They started just going absolutely bananas. But I promised mayor Bowser's response. Muriel Bowser, the latest in a line of democrats promising to clean things up. So she gets out and does what Democrats do best in these situations and that's give some type of pseudo Kamala Harris word salad that. Imagine if you told chatgpt to write an inspiring speech, but it was like the knockoff Teemu brand version of chat GPT. That would be Muriel Bowser here describing a tenuous access to democracy.
Muriel Bowser
My rest, my message to residents is this. We know that access to our democracy is tenuous.
Tony Kennett
I do appreciate the mixtape. Stop. My. My residents. I'm sorry. Access to democracy is tenuous. I'm not sure how access to democracy is tenuous. Tenuous isn't really the word to use here when you, when you, you know, when you crack open the good old fashioned thesaurus and look up words for not so great, I'm sure that it appears to be rather tantillating. I don't know, exciting. Super duperous.
Muriel Bowser
That is why you have heard me and many, many Washingtonians before me advocate for full statehood for the District of Columbia. We are American citizens.
Tony Kennett
That is correct. That does not make you a resident of a state nor deserving of a state.
Muriel Bowser
Our families go to war.
Tony Kennett
Okay, also fine, but going to war does. Again, there are, there are U.S. territories. Like you guys know this, right? There's islands that are not US States. There are territories, there are military bases that do not exist inside states of the union. People who have residents in U. S. Territories get special privileges. Serving in the military is not something that is. It is inherent of you to be a citizen of a state to do so.
Muriel Bowser
We pay taxes and we uphold the responsibilities of citizenship.
Tony Kennett
You don't, you don't pay taxes in the way that you are insinuating. You pay some kinds of taxes. You do not pay other kinds of taxes. And the law is very, very particular for people who live in Washington D.C. now, they do pay high taxes to Washington D.C. because you're a festering democrat swamp of garbage who doesn't know how to manage its own money.
Muriel Bowser
And while this action today is unsettling and unprecedented.
Tony Kennett
Unsettling. Again, I'm not gonna go too hard on her because I'm very tired and words are very difficult. But if this is some kind of a pre prepared press statement, I mean, she doesn't even look nervous, she just looks sauced.
Muriel Bowser
I can't say that given some of the rhetoric of the past, the that were totally surprised. I can say to D.C. residents that we will continue to operate our government in a way that makes you proud.
Tony Kennett
Well, I mean, I'm sure that not being stabbed or shot will in fact make a lot of people proud.
Muriel Bowser
We will balance our budgets, we will deploy our services. Our kids are going to Start School on August 25th.
Tony Kennett
Well, I mean, okay, I don't know what the schools are going to have to do with any of this. I mean, probably fewer kids getting shot on the way to school and back probably would be nice. But again, they're not going to be deploying services like they were. The Trump administration and the federal government is taking back control of services in Washington D.C. as they should. So again, not that she, she's, she's not even making empty promises here. She's just blatantly misleading the people of D.C. pretending as though they're occupied by a foreign government. No, you're occupied by your own government, by the laws on the books, just for such a time as this.
Muriel Bowser
And we will work with the federal government to do the things that they should do for our city.
Tony Kennett
I'm sorry, she talks for 30 more seconds and I'm just not going to sit here and listen to it. So the Metro Police Department started putting out some garbage crime statistics. The Washington Post started reaching out to people because the crime statistics were actually much worse and said, well, does anyone want to tell us their opinions? Because yes, that's what I look for in crime reporting is op eds. Thank goodness. So the Trump administration did put out the 2024 murder rate per 100,000 individuals. And if you look at the world's most wonderful and stinky cities, I have to say stinky cities because you know, Delhi and Mexico City are on here. Oh, sorry, Islamabad as well. Whereas Ottawa, Paris, Havana, Delhi, London and Madrid are less than two or three people murdered per 100,000. Lima, Islamabad, Mexico City and Bogota are between about seven and then looks like 16 per hundred thousand for Bogota. Washington D.C. is 27 people per 100,000. That is ridiculous. And again, that's the United States of America. Now I'm not allowed to legally carry in Washington D.C. because God forbid I'm allowed to, you know, carry and defend myself and those that I'm with. You are however, allowed to be carjacked and beaten and stabbed and shot outside of, for example, Union Station, which is not too far off from where I work when I'm in Washington D.C. that doesn't stop CNN here from immediately going for the pearls. Because if there's one thing CNN knows to do, it's completely misunderstand the role of government. And then if they do something marginally well, it's amplify Democrat voices almost without making them sound like fools. Here you go.
Muriel Bowser
Getting reaction from D.C. council members.
Charles Allen
We are Pamela and Wolf. This coming into CNN from council member Charles Allen of the 6th Ward in D.C. his post is, quote, the president taking over local control of MPD and putting the US Military onto the streets of DC under the guise of public safety is wrong.
Tony Kennett
The guise of public safety. The guise of public safety. What else would it be under the guise of? That doesn't make any sense. The guys of public safety. Yeah, I mean, people are getting stabbed and shot. I've seen them, I've seen them stabbed. I've seen them shot. I've seen the MPD roll up to a scene in which there is someone laying on the ground in blood. Yeah, I mean that, you know, kind of would be nice to the see the metro itself not smell like piss. Again, I, I gotta say, I, I'm rather in favor of that. The United States Metro under Washington D.C. the entire metropolitan area should be nicer than Paris. Again, if you haven't, if you, if you have in a picture of your mind, a romantic view of Paris. Paris is a trash heap. It has been for much longer than London has now been a trash heap. Washington D.C. should not be in that category.
Charles Allen
It's an extreme, outrageous and dangerous move for our city and the safety of all of our residents. He's the first city council member to react to this whole thing. None of them had reacted really last week to this in any real measure.
Tony Kennett
Again, it's really funny to watch CNN try to amplify this kind of nonsense given that when you look at the situation in Washington D.C. the people who are not able to say how they feel about this are those who were murdered in the last couple of years in Washington D.C. it's just not going to go well. That didn't stop CNN from also having on Bernie Sanders and saying, did you know that you're popular? Have you seen the polls? Everyone says you're wonderful. Everyone likes to buddy Sanders in the pudding and the socialism and the other crazy right there go something that I'm sure you have seen a Gallup poll. Did you see this Gallup poll? Yep. Did you see the Gallup poll clippity clopping along the way? The Bernie Sanders and the horse and the polling. They asked did you like the horse and descenders. And what the Gallup poll found was that you are one of the most widely admired Americans. And I believe you're only second to the Pope. You want me to declare my candidacy for Pope? I don't think that you're eligible for a lot of reasons, and I won't do that. I'm just asking reporters of networks that claim not to be biased. Now, of course, we all know when it comes to cnn, we all know when it comes to Dana Bash, that ain't happening. But the very least you could do is not lick the boots of whom you're interviewing. I'm just asking for the minimal amount of decorum. I have interviewed people of whom I am fans or I am a fan. I have interviewed many individuals who I have really liked, many individuals whom I really dislike, but individuals that I like. You try to show a level of the quorum, even if you fail, even if you don't do a very good job, even if you end up coming across as a guy, that at least is. You're trying to be, you know, respectful of the interview because some people may not like this guy you're trying to interview. You're kind of trying to let them make their case so that maybe others can like them as. As much as you do. But don't openly simp. Don't openly just sit there and go, wow, you're like, you're like, pretty good, huh? What are you supposed to do? I mean, even Zach Galifianakis in between two ferns in satirical interviews, did a better job interviewing than Dana Bash at CNN when Zach Galifianakis was sniffing Hillary Clinton. So I have no segue out of that. The Democrats the rest of the country over. I was looking through a lot of the news today, seeing what else is the country focused on. Gavin Newsom is now trying to lead the brave Katniss Everdeen resistance against Trump via redistricting. And it's really, really, really funny. There's. There's really no other way to put it. It's just really, really funny because right now, by losing their minds and going after Texas for redistricting because the Department of Justice said, hey, you have minority majority districts listed. But you're not allowed to just say all of these minorities that I like make a minority majority district and everyone else is screwed. You can't do that. You can't. According to the actual Department of Justice, you cannot, as a state legislature, say black people, brown people, they're all the same. That's not a thing. You really shouldn't do that. I promise you that the 20 year old dude from New Delhi and the abuelita from southern Mexico don't have a whole lot in common, even though their skin tones might be close on the Sherwin Williams paint sachet. No. But of course, the Democrats thinking that they can coalition their way to super racial harmony while, you know, counting on the free slave labor that they provide. The idea that going after Texas was going to be the move in this administration that going after Texas and saying, oh, Texas, terrible. In fact, Texas, if you go through with redistricting, then we're going to redistrict. Which was a hilarious threat for the governor of Massachusetts to make a state with zero Republican seats in Congress. I imagine in a very similar fashion, my daughter looking at me and saying that she has changed around the organization of her oatmeal by simply stirring the oatmeal in the bowl and changing nothing else. It's still the same oatmeal. You've just stirred it around a little bit. Massachusetts going from nine blue Democrat districts to nine blue Democrat districts is not going to go the way they think it will. But then you have places like Illinois, which is already a mess. We've talked about extensively, California extensively, New York extensively. And they're threatening to get out there and gerrymander those a little harder. Which it really isn't going to go over very well. Well, it has pushed additional state legislatures in the country on the red side of the aisle to say, hmm, we already know the 2020 election was or excuse me, we already know the 2020 census was crap. Even the takers of the 2020 census admit it was crap. It over counted certain states, it undercounted certain states, it didn't look at state migration. It counted illegal immigrants, which is not what the census was set up to do. It's not what the 14th amendment clarified the census should do. Though many on the left are so illiterate they tried to claim the 14th Amendment says that missing the clause that individuals who are not taxed, that is not citizens of the United States, as the 14th Amendment puts it, Indians outside of taxation, in this case, illegal immigrants who are not Supposed to be here, not supposed to be in the territory of the United States. Not taxed means not counted in the census, because the census is an economic tool as well. But regardless, Vice President Vance, who I am very well aware I look like, and I do admire when you guys say that I look like J.D. vance in the comments, I would think that this far into the show that we would start getting less of those comments, but they're going to keep rolling. So my fine doppelganger of a vice presidential sort makes the case for why redistricting is necessary. And the Democrats kicking the hornet's nest is, well, going to screw them over real quick.
Tony Kinnick
Yeah. So another crazy thing that I had no idea about, but everybody, even Democrats, actually admit this, that the census in 2020 had a major statistical error. And what that meant is that you actually undercounted a few states that are Republican, like Florida and Ohio. You overcounted some blue states. And so what I understand, if you actually did the census anew right now, you would have 10, 10 additional Republican seats and nine fewer Democrat seats. And really, what we're living with, Maria, is the consequence of 40 years of institutional control in the Democratic Party. These guys have fought very dirty for a very long time, and they haven't just won elections and enacted laws that we may not agree with. They have tried to rig the game for Democrats and against Republicans. And thankfully, under President Trump's leadership, you finally see some spine, you finally see some backbone in the Republican Party to fight back against these very aggressive Democratic dirty tricks. But the only way for us to do it is to actually go and do the hard work, to reset the scales a little bit. What we want to do is redo the census, but importantly, we want to redistrict some of these red states, and we want to make the congressional apportionment fair in this country. Again, you cannot do it unless Republicans actually take some very decisive action in the months to come. We think they will, and we're obviously supporting them every step of the way.
Tony Kennett
But do you. So I really do think that, first of all, this is one of the reasons why Vance is top dog in the next election cycle. Again, the articulation, being able to point out very clearly why redistricting is necessary, but being able to do so in taking a practical point and a cultural point and intertwine them, that's good politics. That is, as far as the communication side of this, this issue is concerned. That's why it wins. Because essentially he makes the case for two things. Number One, the objective measures by which we are supposed to live by are not objective, and they were done poorly. And the results of doing so has criminally hurt those in the United States. On a representation level, when you goof up the census, when you goof up labor statistics, and those have a major impact on things like interest rates, when you goof up things that are supposed to be objective, dogmatic, easily understandable, objective, no problem. Numbers like these are not something that. Neither of these are things that people in the United States should have qualms over. They're supposed to be definitive numbers. When people get those wrong, people get hurt. So therefore, we need to do it right. That's point number one. Number two is that if the left is gonna play dirty, the right is gonna play by those exact same rules. I've said this before. This is a very good move. The idea of people suggesting, oh, we're sliding into the slippery slope of whatever, no, no, you are not going to win a game by being the bigger, better man and refraining from those kind of. People get curb stomped. They do. There is not a single group in history that when the idiots were acting like idiots, said just ignore them. Charles, we are aristocrats and we do not lure ourselves to such pedantry. Yeah, those people get curb stomped or guillotined. You have to make sure that when radicals decide to make stupid decisions, that you show them very clearly the consequences to stupid decisions. That is not fascism. That is not rising to the foolishness of scornful and stupid children. No, that is making sure that if someone chooses to play stupid games that you give them their very due and earned stupid prizes. That if you decide that you are going to rig the system in your state, that there are other states in this country who are going to counterbalance you. And then when the Supreme Court steps in, everyone gets clocked. Because if it's just one or two states kind of goofing around slowly over a long period of time, Supreme Court might not step in. But now if you have Ohio and Missouri and Indiana and Texas and California and New York and Massachusetts, I guess, trying out this redistricting stuff, well then all of a sudden, when the Supreme Court comes in and Clarence Thomas slam dunks the basketball in Catangi Brown Jackson's face, who's probably going to figure out then that we even have states? Boy, is she going to be surprised. That's going to be a moment that will reset a lot of things to status quo antebellum like we did with judicial situation from over the summer. So I think that right now what we're looking at in the country is, is a very important, again we can talk about the theoreticals as to whether or not certain states are going to gain certain leads. We'll get into this in the next couple of days. I actually want to wait just a little bit here. I want to see one quick clarification from one clerk at the Supreme Court level. But other than that, I do believe right now the Democrats have once again gone way too far, way too fast. And by going after Texas for what is a pretty moderate redistricting, believe it or not, and you can say, oh, it's going to be a lot more red. Well, it just so happens that according to the Department of Justice standards, it's really the only way that Texas could have gone. I know. I shockingly shocked. However, in this particular instance, by freaking out about it, the left is now prepping the groundwork for all of their decades of gerrymandering to get stuffed at the top of. Well, you know, it's, it's, let's just say that it's, it's going to be like LeBron James up against Angel Reese. Doesn't matter what Angel Reese puts up, LeBron is gonna push that right down. So those things said, Gavin Newsom has now suggested this is all about Trump, I guess that he's gonna try the illegal immigrant and like the immigration bill thing during the election where it's Trump. You gotta call off your legislators, you gotta stop them. Cuz in California we're trying to play by the rules but they're obviously just listening to you. Cuz they're your bulldogs. You gotta pull em off, call them off or else I'll get mean. Oh, let the other half of my state burn down. That's Gavin Newsom's approach. He says regarding calling off the mid decade redistricting efforts. Dear Mr. President, I'm writing to ask you to call the governor of Texas and other red states. We're acting on your request to draw new congressional maps through an unprecedented mid decade hyper partisan gerrymander. Not unprecedented. Lots of states do things mid decades hyper partisan. California looks like Eastern Europe in its electoral map. Shut your mouth. Gerrymander. Yes, we all know that redistricting slang is gerrymander. Congratulations. To rig the upcoming midterm elections. No, believe it or not, the rigging of the midterm elections. Right now the Democrats have no momentum in the country. None. They are at a low approval rating because they have not provided anything for Americans to latch onto. As something they don't like, that Donald Trump is doing that the other party represents. This is really the funny thing about the Trump administration because right now, economically, he's achieving right wing goals by using pseudo left wing protectionist means via protectionist economics. At the same time, the President of the United States is doing certain things like federalizing the police force in a manner that leftist institutions have used in previous decades and centuries here in the United States. So they don't really have anywhere to go here. They've also on their cultural side of issues that the racism, the sexism, the homophobia, dupliism and all the other nonsense, they've blown it with the American people. So what do they have? What do they actually have that's new, that's exciting? There's a scene in Ratatouille, we don't have the clip loaded because it just popped into my head where everyone is excited about this new dish that is coming out in the restaurant. And this waiter comes in and he's very mad. He said, the people want to know what this new. What is new? And they're all yelling back at the waiter. What did you tell them? The waiter says, I told them I would ask. And so it's this kind of who's on third? Repeating of what is new for like 30 seconds is a little bit of a comedy gag. That's what the Democrats are currently going through. The people are coming in saying, what is new from the Democratic Party? And they're saying, well, what do we have? And they just keep going on in this endless circle because there's not anything that's new. The only oppositional metrics are coming from the Republican Party in their own caucuses. They're arguing it out. And the Republican camp, or excuse me, the Republican campaigns in the midterms are bolstered by a Trump administration that's reacting and responding in real time. They may not be making the decision that everyone likes, but pleasing the entire Republican Party hasn't always been a peach. So right now, what it appears is that though Gavin Newsom is, you know, throwing up some big, I don't know, some yelling and saber rattling. I ju. I just don't see anything in the long term that's really going to benefit him here other than humiliation at the national scale. It's a little early to be, you know, trying to ready the engine for the 2028 presidential election cycle. Though Gavin Newsom really, really wants to be the nominee, it's not going to happen. That brings us to Ukraine and Russia because The President of the United States announced that he will be flying to Alaska to meet with Vladimir Putin this Friday. Check it out.
Donald Trump
Well, we're going to have a meeting with Vladimir Putin. And at the end of that meeting, probably in the first two minutes, I'll know exactly whether or not a deal can be made, because that's what I do. I make deals.
Tony Kennett
Now. I do. I appreciate the response from the President at that moment for a couple of reasons. First of all, because I was sitting with the White House correspondent over at the Daily Caller, Reagan Reese, who we just had on the show. She's also over here with me in Israel. We really enjoy this kind of candor because it's a stupid question from reporters. There are stupid questions that come from reporters. They're like, well, how come? And it's an obvious answer. You know those. Remember those people from class, or the teacher would. Would say something extremely obvious, and that one kid nobody likes would stick their hand in the air and everyone would just groan inwardly. Yeah. Those people grow up to be correspondents in the White House. So the President of the United States, yes, he is in fact, on a winning streak because he has not, I won't say discovered, but he has more perfected the art of using the economic powerhouse of the United States in a way that the military backs them up, but is less needed in every single negotiation. Because Trump says, well, how about if you don't do what I want, you're just going to be broke. So broke like you've never seen before. You're going to be destitute. Your kids are going to be destitute, your wife could be a prostitute. Who knows to make money. Like, that's the kind of thing that Trump says to foreign leaders. I mean, seriously, that's how the President of the United States operates when negotiating deals. He comes in and says, you're gonna be broke if you don't do what it is the United States looking for here. And you have Vladimir Putin that says, okay, well, fine, what are you going to do to Russian people? And Trump's like, how about all your trading partners are dead and broke and they can't trade anything with you either? And Putin doesn't know what to do with that because Putin doesn't operate in the New York real estate tycoon, entertainer that is Trump the wild card. And you say, well, this is the same strategy Trump uses all the time, though. Yeah, but there's really no counter to it, because the entire world, as we've said before, again and again and again, is built on the United States economy in one way or another. I'm going to get a text from my boss for the, the Trump and the destitute, the prostitute, Joe. Anyhow, it's been a very, very long day. That's going to be my defense. I want to move along, though, because Vice President J.D. vance, he also commented on Europe basically starting the funding of Ukrainian armament by buying weapons from the United States. Essentially, it's the Israeli approach. So the Israeli approach is that the United States allows Israel to buy certain weapons from the United States, whereas Europe right now, well, I mean, look at European arms manufacturing in the last 50 years. It's downright depressing. That does appear to be changing, and it appears that the Europeans might finally, again, what we've seen Trump do with NATO is bringing the Europeans to funding the Ukrainian defense through US Arms manufacturing that the Europeans are then going to buy.
Tony Kinnick
To your point about weapons, what we said to the Europeans is simply, first of all, this is in your neck of the woods. This is in your back door. You guys have got to step up and take a bigger role in this thing. And if you care so much about this conflict, you should be willing to play a more direct and a more substantial way in funding this war yourself. I think the President and I certainly think that America, we're done with the funding of the Ukraine war business. We want to bring about a peaceful settlement to this thing. We want to stop the killing. But Americans, I think, are sick of continuing to send their money, their tax dollars, to this particular conflict. But if the Europeans want to step up and actually buy the weapons from American producers, we're okay with that, but we're not going to fund it ourselves anymore.
Tony Kennett
Again, he's, he's, he's not wrong. He's not wrong. There is a kind of, I won't say isolationism, because I don't think that's necessarily what this is. There's a kind of, of universal responsibility realism that does come from this administration in which individuals who are acting on the world stage, who want to flaunt how big of a country they are. Great example of this is France. Emmanuel Macron will get out there and he'll smoke his skinny cigarette and lit his baguettes and then he'll let in a bunch of Muslims, and he'll say, we're going to do this because we are France, and the world laughs because France sucks. And when the world laughs at France, it's because France's military prowess has been rather questionable to the point that it's been stereotyped and made fun of quite a lot. And so the rest of the world really does fail to understand the joke. And it's led to some really interesting situations in the last couple of years where the Trump administration, and the first Trump administration as well, would say, I'm going to do something on the world stage. You have some random country that nobody cares about, Australia. They'll say, all right, we're going to do this. And Trump says, no, you're not. And they're like, well, then we're gonna do something else. Trump's like, no, you're not. You're Australia. I don't care what you have to say. You're not the United States. You'll see some other European or Asian nation start suggesting that they deserve X, Y and Z because they've existed for a long time or whatever. Guys, this isn't a game of risk. The United States is the preeminent power. You're not gonna stack up to the United States as Luxembourg and get some kind of magical respect because you've been on the game board for a while. No. And I think that here, when you're looking at the European investment into its own defense, because the Soviet Union was such an inherent threat to the United States, the US Was willing to shoulder the work because it was already rebuilding Europe anyway. And so, yeah, might as well protect the stuff it was rebuilding. Whereas now that's not. That's not the case. Yes, there's a Russian threat, but it is a Russian threat that is on a land war march through Ukraine. Is that a threat to Europe? Well, yeah, absolutely. But that is also Europe's first defense to pony up. I will remind you that it was, in fact, the failure of Europe to act that led to the United States having to get involved and turn the tide in. And turn the tide in World War II, not just from the resources and the material side, but also from the troop side. What is trying to be prevented right now is the United States having to eventually get involved because Europe screws everything up as it is wants to do. And I think that what the Trump administration has done in not only forcing certain individuals to the table, some of them taking longer than others, understandably so. I do believe that right now, the administration forcing Europe to not only pony up and pay up, but also to pay up to the United States to supply arms to Ukraine, it just makes all the sense in the world. And it's one of the things that I'm really looking forward to seeing the resolution of. Because if Trump is able to broker and a long term ceasefire and some type of a territorial negotiation with the Ukrainians and Russians. At that point, you would need to make a great argument days in a row as to why Trump would not deserve the Nobel Peace Prize, really. I mean, again, I think that he already deserves it because of the peace deals and ceasefires that he's brokered. But given that, that's just kind of my take on it. All right, last thoughts here. Just before we round up for the evening and I go to bed because it is, yeah, it is well after midnight here in Israel. I have been keeping an eye out for some of the things that have been rumored on my way over here. Mainly I have been told quite consistently that Christians are treated absolutely horribly over here in Israel and the Jews are really, really mean to Christians and oh, they're horrible. And they're spitting on Christians all the time everywhere. And so I'm keeping an eye out for that. Now. So far in talking to individuals who do not appear to be Christian while I'm over here, have I detected any of that at all? No, and it's not even close. Now. I've also only been here 2 days so far and I'm going through the interviewing and the investigation process as well as looking at a lot of other stuff here. Of course, the war over in Gaza, we're going to be heading down to some kibbutz near the border. I've been looking at some of the government stuff. We just met with President Herzogen yesterday evening. By the time you're looking at this, there's a lot of interesting stuff that we're up to over here at the moment with some of the radio hosts and correspondents and folks that I work with in kind of these circles. So have a little bit more on that later. I am dead be tired and so I am going to press the button and wish you guys all a very excellent evening. Thank you so much for stopping by. We'll be back tomorrow hopefully unless something goes awry. Fingers crossed. This is the Tony Kenneth cast here on the Daily Signal, live from Israel, nationally syndicated and first on 93 WIBC.
