Let's have a show. You're listening to the Tony Kennett cast on 93WibcyTV here on the Daily Signal. Good evening and welcome to the Tony Kennett Cast here on the Daily Signal nationally syndrome on 93 WIBC. We have more than enough to dive into this evening. So let's get right to the breaking news out of Virginia. A court has blocked the constitutional amendment referendum which the yes to redistrict to gerrymander Virginia won out very narrowly. That has now been blocked pending a Supreme Court of Virginia decision. So first and foremost, the yes vote gained 1.175 million votes, 1,570 5331 votes. And again, they're still counting a few of the other early ballots, tallying those later on about 51.5%. The nos were between 1.486 million and 200 to 400 seem to be the current tally. So the total vote cast approximately 3.06 million. And that's 47.9% of registered voters. So not bad for a turnout. There were more people who turned out to vote no in the rural counties of Virginia. And then there were more people who turned out to vote yes in the urban counties. I don't mean no as opposed to yes. I mean there were more people who showed up to vote no, especially in the rural areas, than showed up to vote in the presidential election in 2024. And then in the yes side of things as well. Now, Virginia did have or does have right now a 6 to 5 at least, as, you know, Republicans versus Democrats balance. And given that it's a fairly close to a 5050 state as far as Republicans v. Democrats anyway, this was a very, very contested, very contested special election specifically because the proposed district that would then, you know, come to the forefront would result in one Republican district, essentially the eastern half, or, excuse me, the western half of the state. And then the rest of Virginia would be cobbled into a very spaghetti bowl, Illinois or Massachusetts style, gerrymandered 10 Democrat districts. And first and foremost, it's important to note that there's a lot of Democrat victory lapping that's going on right now. So, for example, we have Hakeem Jeffries running out and saying, hey, you know, we did this Virginia thing because of Texas, which not at all the same, but, you know, best of luck to you. He says. Now, if Republicans are going to try to gerrymander Florida, if they're going to fa, they might fo. Here's Hakeem trying to be tough.
Ken Cuccinelli
Our message to Florida Republicans is f around and find out if they go down the road of a DeSantis dummy mander. The Florida Republicans are going to find themselves in the same situation as Texas Republicans who are on the run right now. And under no circumstances are Texas Republicans picking up five seats. They'll be fortunate if they get two or three, while in California, we are going to get all five. The Republicans are dummy mandering their way into the minority before a single vote is cast, because they started this war and we're going to finish it.
Tony Kennett
Okay, so some, some bold things, you know, some very bold claims to get out there and throw in front of the rest of the people. Couple of problems. First of all, stop with the nicknaming. It's awful. Dummy mander. Just, just don't, don't. As far as the American perception of gerrymandering is concerned, given the disasters of Massachusetts and Illinois, you can't exactly say Republicans started this. If you're going to go, well, it's a mid district, you know, midterm kind of fight, you know, in the middle, you're not really supposed to redistrict yet. Okay, fair argument to make. However, when you are making the argument you are for restoring democracy, which is what the ballot actually said. Well, we're actually just really about making sure everything is fair. You can't simultaneously suggest that, well, you know, actually we're going to use whatever levers we have at our behest in order to tilt things. And the American people, by and large, really don't like this. They really don't like it from the Republicans, they don't like it from the Democrats. And that brings us over to the Tazewell County Circuit Court. So Judge Jack Hurley Jr. Issued a ruling that blocks the certification of the results from yesterday's special election referendum. And the court's ruling suggested there were procedural violations by the state legislature. Excuse me, the commonwealth legislature. In other words, advancing the amendment during a special session, which is focused on other matters. So the Virginia Constitution has a couple of rules. One of the rules is what you say you are in session. Four you have to do. So this is somewhat similar to the Senate getting in trouble for trying to pass things through a referendum bill that have nothing to do with the budget. You're not allowed to do that. And in this particular instance, this appears to be a procedural violation. Now, procedural violations, that's a thin cup of coffee. So to continue, it also exceeds the scope of the session and failed to follow constitutional and statutory rules for making amendments. And then there were also issues with how the referendum was structured or presented to voters. This was the problem. There was actually a pretty decent shot for the Democrats to come away with a victory here for the yes vote. If they had just said, do you want to redistrict Virginia because other states are redistricting and. And we don't like it. That's all you had to say. And you still probably would have gotten a lot of people voting yes. But instead, the actual text of the referendum was, do you believe in restoring fairness to democracy for a temporary overworld underhill over next to Grandma's house kind of time? And there's an argument to be made that this is convoluted and nonsensical. And not just the federal agencies in charge of communications and sales and finance regulations, but also at the commonwealth, the state level in Virginia, their agencies have ruled that you can't produce these kind of convoluted contracts. So this order does go beyond just a temporary halt, which is how it was originally portrayed kind of in the broader media. It's a permanent injunction, meaning that this is heading up to the Virginia Supreme Court. Now, we're going to get to that a little bit later because there are a lot of people trying to do kind of scorecards on which Virginia Supreme Court justices are this way and that way. Hang on. We have other news to cover in the meantime. I do. Since Hakeem Jeffries called out Ron DeSantis in Florida, I will play, you know, the DeSantis response because it's only fair.
Ken Cuccinelli
I heard this guy Jeffries popping off in Washington about Florida. He wants to be speaker of the House, and he's kind of like, you know, more liberal than Pelosi and all this other stuff from New York City. I just want to know. I just, oh, Florida can't do. We're going to go after Florida. Please be my guest. I will pay for you to come down to Florida and campaign. I'll put you up in the Florida governor's mansion. We'll take you fishing. We'll do all this stuff. There's nothing that could be better for Republicans in Florida than to see Jeffries, Hakeem Jeffries, everywhere around this state.
Tony Kennett
Why make that case? Well, two reasons. Number one, because it takes away a lot of the Democrats attention from where Americans want the attention focused. This was not supposed to be this close of an election for Virginia. Virginia Democrats should have walked away with this one. They had 45 days of early voting. Ballot harvesting was in full swing. It was quite the harvest. And so then to come forward here and walk away with a very narrow victory that immediately gets slapped by a court because you wrote the question like a bad teacher writes an essay question for the ballot measure, not necessarily a good look. Again, we'll get back to that in a bit because also the Ninth Circuit U.S. court of Appeals has blocked California's attempt to dox ICE agents. So there's a, there's a couple of important things here that probably need to be, you know, California has been attempting for quite a bit to force ICE agents, Border Patrol agents. Oh, producer Josiah brings up pretty good interesting point. The yes was up 43% on mail in and early voting alone. Thanks for that note on the Virginia situation. Sorry. Regarding the Ninth Circuit U.S. court of Appeals, a federal appeals court three judge panel on the Ninth U.S. circuit has blocked the enforcement of a 2025 California law requiring federal immigration agents, meaning ICE and Border Patrol, although any federal agent could apply here to display visible identification such as their agency and their badge and their name while performing enforcement duties in the state. Now, again, the administration has been very clear why this is not acceptable for a couple of reasons. Number one, because attacks on federal law enforcement, in fact, attacks on administrations, Republican, state and federal level around the country have skyrocketed. But regarding federal law enforcement, a 700% increase in attacks on federal law enforcement alone last year. So originally, the Trump administration had sued California's execution, Gavin Newsom, signing this law from the California assembly back in November 2025, arguing that the law violated the Supremacy Clause, meaning the states of this country cannot tell the federal government how to enforce federal law. You can't do it. Kind of a whole Fort Sumter situation that Tim Walls was stupid enough to talk about in that whole context. Radio crew, we're gonna send you guys over to commercial. We're gonna continue on the live stream here unabated. It's the, the Tony Kennett cast here on the Daily Signal. All right. Well, they're all over in their commercial break. The Trump administration also said it interfered in general with Federal functions and an endangered agent safety by increasing the risks of doxing harassment, threats, assaults and violence against officers and their families. So we're going to get to later on in the show. Yes, there are entire groups that are dedicated to hunting down individuals and attempting arson or open assassinations. So in February, a federal district court judge, Christina Snyder issued a mixed preliminary injunction. I hate these mixed injunctions are garbage. That is the laziest nonsense that a judge can put forward. It means the judge didn't know well enough to actually say this is wrong or this is right. Instead they start doing little piecemeal cherry picking, kind of like a modern liberal Christian kind of a thing. You know, like cherry picking the Bible verses kind of a situation. So she had blocked the mask band as likely discriminatory and then she had initially allowed the visible ID requirement to proceed saying oh, this is more neutral and it serves the public interest and accountability. But the appeals court issued an injunction pending appeal. Granted this injunction, I should say, because they found that the federal government made a pretty sufficient preliminary showing that the Supremacy clause is something we fought a freaking civil war over. It's very well established. If you do not like how the federal government is enforcing the law, then Congress needs to change it. Individual states can't do. So whether you do or don't like that, and I said this by the way, during the Biden administration regarding Border Patrol. States absolutely could send down the National Guard to protect the southern border, but Texas had no authority to interfere with Biden's handling of Border Patrol itself. The Supremacy Clause does matter. And of all the things for Chuck Schumer and the Senate to latch onto, this is where Chuck Schumer, the Democrats believe that the hay is made. This is where they believe all of the effort need to be poured into because the federal government is still partially shut down. Something that Americans are really, really not too happy about. So Schumer's decided it's grandstanding time.
Scott Jennings
Republicans want to keep shutting down tsa,
Ken Cuccinelli
fema, cisa, Coast Guard and other crucial DHS agencies.
Tony Kennett
No one believes this.
Scott Jennings
Democrats want to reopen all the law

abiding agencies in dhs. So making the case that everyone I like is abiding the law, everyone I dislike is doing super sketchy, super duper illegal stuff. No, no, you're not a four year old child. You may have the mental acuity of some four year old children, but that ain't gonna fly there, homie.
Scott Jennings
Forget about being on the same page.
Ken Cuccinelli
Republicans are not, aren't on the same planet as The American people.
Tony Kennett
Good one.
Scott Jennings
Republicans want to give $140 billion to

ICE and Border Patrol.
Tony Kennett
And these are agencies highly unpopular, unreformed

with the American people.
Tony Kennett
So again, he's angry, he's very upset because Republicans are still not giving him all of the extra super duper special reforms that he'd originally asked for. And Chuck Schumer has tried since to get the body camera requirement taken down because again, when you see body camera footage, it usually ends up revealing something that's rather different than the initial Ms. Now headline. Now, there are a couple of other really agitated rants on the floor of the House and the Senate. We're going to cover these a little bit later. Chris Murphy is really, really upset that courts ruled the Trump administration absolutely has the constitutional authority to send those whose temporary protected status or their visas have expired. They've been given removal orders, essentially. A little post it note from a judge that says get out now. If they stay here, the Trump administration, courts ruled, can send them to wherever, anywhere in the wide open world. And so Chris Murphy, who's, you know, back from supporting the Iranian regime, he's very, very upset about this. We'll get to some of that, you know, kind of anger at the courts a little bit later. We're going to pop out here in just a second, pick up the radio crew from the end of their commercial break. And then it's time to cover some breaking news. Secretary of the Navy John Phelan has been fired. And fired is the opportune word there. And then, of course, Iran is attempting to board and fire at some ships in the Strait of Hormuz. The United States is just grabbing ships like a Pokemon trainer between Asia and the Middle East. We're going to cover that. Don't go anywhere. Tons to talk about tonight. It's the Tony Kenneth cast. This is the Tony Kennett cast on 93 WIBC. Welcome back to the Tony Kennett cast here on the Daily Signal. So the ceasefire in Iran, it's, it's pretty much over. It's pretty much over now. The Trump administration had made the case. And we're going to play some of the clips from the White House press Secretary Carolyn Levitt. I will say it's probably a little more than notable that we actually haven't seen a lot of statements from the president or the Secretary of War OR Vice President J.D. vance or Secretary of State Marco Rubio today. There's kind of a soft ceasefire offer open if Iran can actually deliver a unified statement of any kind. A unified as in the entire government, the regime of Iran agrees. We're going to do this, America. Here is the here is plan, your statement. And so far that ain't happening. And we reported on that yesterday. It's gotten worse in the last 24 hours. So now we have Iranian state media networks that are redacting headlines like the Atlantic writing about Cash Patel. I have not seen the automatic revolving turnstile this active since the free day for the New York City subway. So, I mean, not exactly doing so. Well, there are a couple of statements that the things that are being made with actions rather than with words. But before we get to that, first of all, breaking news. The United States Secretary of the Navy John Phelan has been fired. According to Reuters, no reason was given. However, the opportunity clear and concise word that was used is that he was fired. So I believe we actually have the initial FOX report on this, maybe a little bit more light so that you don't think I'm just kind of blowing smoke here.
Ken Cuccinelli
Other breaking story tonight, a shakeup at the Pentagon.
Tony Kennett
Another one, the Navy secretary departing his post. What do we know?
Brad
Yeah. The Pentagon spokesman just announced Navy Secretary John Filon is departing the administration effective immediately, saying, quote, we wish him well in his future endeavors. It was not immediately clear from this post if he resigned or was fired, but Fox News has learned in the last few moments that he was was fired. He had a very close relationship, apparently with Donald Trump Jr. And just hosted a bridal shower for his fiance this past weekend in Palm Beach. Filon was confirmed by the Senate just over a year ago. Under Secretary Hung Kao is to assume the role of acting secretary. This marks the 34th military officer that Secretary Hegseth has fired since taking over the agency. Brad?
Tony Kennett
Yeah. John Phelan at Navy secretary there. Now, I was a little surprised because again, as I've said here on the show, I've spoken to John Phelan. He's an individual who's answered several of my questions. He's an individual who gave me kind of the skink eye when I started to ask something with maybe not enough careful language about what it was that I was asking regarding certain pieces of technology and drone countermeasures on our naval ships. So what's the reason he's gone? Well, the New York Times is reporting as well as Axios that there have been months of infighting between the secretary of, well, now the former secretary of the Navy and the rest of the Pentagon. So the quote from Axios here, Phelan did not understand. He wasn't the boss. His job is to follow orders given, not follow the orders he thought should be given. That's according to a person familiar with the situation. So him. Grain of salt there. And that's according to Axios reporters Colin Demarest and then also Mark Caputo. So interesting. New York Times is reporting a lot of the same stuff. I'm curious to see what some of the other underlying reasons are behind his departure. And whether or not this may have had something to do with the Strait of Hormuz itself would certainly be very interesting. We'll have to keep an eye out. Under Secretary Hankao is moving into the position, and this man is very interested in the favorite tradition of the United States. If there is a man who enjoys sinking Islamic pirate boats more than Hungkow in the Navy brass right now, I don't know of him. I certainly don't know of him. Now, the statement referred to by Sean Parnell, who's the United States Assistant to the Secretary of War for Public affairs, he said, you know, on behalf of the Secretary of War and Deputy Secretary of War, we're very grateful for his service in the Navy. Wish him well in future endeavors. That was pretty much it. So this brings us over to the ceasefire. Now, the press secretary is out here issuing the line of the administration. As I've said consistently, the press secretary's job is to say what they are given by the president, by the president's chief of staff. That's their job, and then to argue those things on merit, no matter what's given to them. And Carolyn Levitt here appears to be saying, yeah, he extended a ceasefire because Iran has no idea what they're doing as far as a statement, meaning like, we're not ready to go in and. Or we're not choosing maybe probably the more opportune word there to go in and make a core decision here, if there's still a piece of the regime that can get it together enough to actually broker some kind of a deal, if they're not, you know, ready to do a little jump rope and find themselves in a very shallow grave before their time, you know, kind of an opportune moment for them. Here's the White House press secretary today.
Brad
Look at where we are right now. The president chose to extend the cease fire because it's Iran who needs to get their acts together. The United States and President Trump have been very clear in our demands and our red lines and what we need to see in the best interest of the American people and our country and our allies from the very beginning.
Tony Kennett
Now, there are some statements from the Iranians that are very, very different, and not just different from what Secretary Carolyn Levitt said, or. Excuse me. Yeah. White House Press Secretary Carolyn Levitt said, but also from the different regime officials, from each other. So one Iranian official said that the Strait of Hormuz couldn't be open due to ceasefire breaches, whereas another Foreign Ministry official said the ceasefire was in considerable danger, though still in effect, even though it had been sort of extended. And a member of the Iranian Parliament in leadership has also come forward with a separate statement making the case again on social media that Iran is no longer engaging in ceasefire communications, but they're waiting for the US to make the move. Their hands on the trigger, on the cards. You know, they're ready to go at a moment's notice. The halal minutemen, if you will. No, no, not useful. And by the way, when we make the case that different conversations are being had in the posturing sphere on social media than in private, this is clear to a lot of individuals. There'll be a lot of boisterous bragging on social media, and then the foreign ministers are to the United States, to the Secretary of State's office, making very different pleas.
Brad
The previous question's point, you see a lot of different messaging on social media from many people within the regime. And a lot of that public nonsense is not what we hear from them privately. But again, we want a unified response, and that's what the President is awaiting.
Tony Kennett
So this brings us over to the breaking of the ceasefire, the breaking of the fellowship of the ring. I'm afraid Gandalf has said, fly, you fools. And Hezbollah decided now is the time to issue another series of strikes against Lebanese civilians that also included members of the Israeli Defense Force, that also included an Israeli civilian. And so Israel said, no, we're done. And so they issued a firm series of boots to the face in the munitions category over to the Hezbollah crew. Now, there is one strong member of the Lebanese Parliament who is a Hezbollah, considered the Hezbollah arm of the Lebanese government. Like the one guy in there who's saying, yeah, I represent Hezbollah, Hussein Al Hajj Hassan. He said, quote, we are no longer committed to the ceasefire and will respond as we see fit. 27 minutes later, there were reported 48 casualties of Hezbollah. So, I mean, I guess really, really excellent from. From Hezbollah over to the Strait of Hormuz side of things. So there has been a lot of ship grabbing, a lot of Yar piracy kind of stuff going on in the Strait of Hormuz. Because the United States Navy is not letting through Chinese boats, Iranian boats, Russian boats, proxy friends of the Iranian regiment. Now there were a couple of container ships that tried to make it through the strait that the United States Navy said, I wouldn't do that if I were you. So these would include the MSC Francesca, that is a Panama flagged container ship. The Epaminondas, that is a Liberia flagged container ship. Although also it's being reported that it has Greek affiliations and connections. And although being a Liberia flagged container ship, the Greeks are also claiming it. Interesting. There's also a third ship reported as the Euphoria. No, not the show that Sydney Sweeney's in the Euphoria, according to some Iranian state media, which has been fired on by IRGC gunboats. So the little rowboat from the Little Mermaid, that's kind of what the Navy's down to. But you can fit a couple of guys with RPGs and an AK or two in there that was left damaged or stranded on the Iranian coast. There are less consistent reports on that. But we're going to get into some of these details that we do have over here on the live stream radio crew, we know you have a commercial break mandated by the FCC to get to. It's the Tony Kennett cast here on the Daily Signal. Now while they are in their commercial break, let's talk a little bit here about some of these Iranian attacks. They were able to seize one boat. This would be the MSC Francesca. So of all of the naval combat that we're about to discuss here, remember the seized boat that Iran has confirmed captured is a boat from Panama. Impressive. Now, reportedly the Panamanian ship was carrying British goods and maybe two British civilians. We're not sure if the British wanted to protect that ship. Maybe they should have sent the hms, you know, Dragon, whatever, not to the port to be repaired for the 30th time in the last two years, but you know, to actually guard some ships with their interest going through the Strait of Hormuz, you know, instead of Keir Starmer just cucking out on the international stage. So the footage has been released from the Iranian regime accounts. There's a mixture of some AI footage in here and then also some footage from previous Iranian or Islamic terror attacks on the high seas. So you'll notice that the boats used by the Iranians change colors. It's not because they're sponsored by Sherwin Williams. It's because they're kind of trying to, you know, vamp up a little of their footage here they also have some intense, exciting music. But anyhow, see, I told you. Little tiny rowboats that may have also been stolen by the Illinois dnr. You have the Panamanian container ship. The reason you're seeing this, so much of this footage of them just taking one ship from the great strong naval nation of Panama is because the Iranians at this point have had like, no victories. So you got to give them. You get a little something here. Just a little something. So it shows them climbing up, struggling to climb up the ladder. You can see them slipping on the rungs. There you go. Midshipman Jahid is having a little bit of a struggle there. He's still climbing several minutes later on the footage. And then it cuts to footage of different boats and then back to the epimenodas, different. So kind of hackneyed little bit of footage there. Interesting. For sure. We'll have to see. I'm, I'm, I'm not sure that upsetting the Greeks in the Mediterranean is the move here. Sorry, I'm going to say that one more time, just in case you didn't catch me. I don't think it's a good idea to piss off the Greeks in the Mediterranean. Just, just going to, just going to be clear with you there. But alas. So the statement from Central Command. How's the United States doing? How. How's our great navy doing? Well, in the middle of this, this kind of map of these timeline attacks in which the Iranians I want you to see here, if I can actually get this large enough to fit the screen so you can see the Iranian ships essentially kind of floating in circles while you have like some weird kind of containers, shipping that may or may not have been heading to Iranian coastlines anyway, like stopping to pay the tolls that they were supposed to set up. Getting lost. It's just a kerfuffle for the Iranians, which were supposed to be doing some really cool stuff. A ferric victory for sure. But the United States, however, has captured three Iranian oil tankers in Asian waters. According to independent sources outside of centcom in the United States Navy, a release from Central Command yesterday after. Excuse me. Yesterday evening, early this morning, Middle Eastern time, stated that the United States blockade of the Strait of Hormuz had directed 29 vessels to turn back or return to port since the beginning of the blockade. And the naval administration has refuted previous reporting that a number of ships had passed the blockade. Although to be clear here, that had kind of fallen apart after the Iranians started reducing numbers on their own. We got to pick up the radio crew from the commercial break and then we got to get into some fraud with Ilhan Omar. Don't go anywhere. It's the Tony Kenneth cast here on the Daily Signal. This is the Tony Kennett CA on 93 WIBC. So yesterday we reported the breaking news that the Southern Poverty Law center and as we're going to show the organization the left uses to go after anyone accused that they say, oh man, that the Southern Poverty Law center has accused Turning Point USA of being white supremacist and Moms for Liberty and, and all like just all of these like Focus on the Family, Family Research Council stuff going after them. That was this SPLC hate map. Again, Tyler o', Neill, my colleague over at the Daily Signal we had on yesterday, he has an excellent book just on the history of the Southern Poverty Law center and how they are truly an atrocious group of people. Well, the Southern Poverty Law center has decided amidst their already struggling national image and a series of defamation lawsuits at the beginning of this week had said, hey, you know, back in the 80s, back in the 1980s, we were paying some informants to give us some information on the KKK and the DOJ's investigating us over that. And so I heard a lot of left leaning individuals on media and in Congress say oh, that's terrible. How could the Trump administration be attacking the splc, the Southern Poverty Law center, how could they be going after this is so racist and terrible for a bunch of stuff they did in the 80s. Come on now. Well, according to the indictments and we've had a little bit of time now to read through all of the indictments and the Southern Poverty Law center not only made the decision to continually fund the kkk, white supremacists, American Nazis and I mean like the actual skinhead variety through 2020 and beyond, not the 1980s, but they also through their paid informants organized the entire Charlottesville, Virginia, Unite the Right White Supremacist rally. And it turns out they have orchestrated and planned a lot of major white supremacist protest displays that they would then use as evidence that they needed to raise a bunch of money from people. And there are two very, very, very, very big problems with this. First of all, they are not a law enforcement agency. They're not law enforcement agencies are sometimes with heavy scrutiny and heavy oversight, whether at the local, very rarely are do you see local law enforcement that are allowed to use undercover cops or paid informants? It's very rare. And even then, like Los Angeles or Chicago or Philadelphia or Pittsburgh or Miami had to seek special approval from the federal government to engage in paid informant and undercover operations. Normally, these things like large scale undercover work that's handled by federal agencies, even state law enforcement really has to play it safe and also usually work with the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the branch office in that region. So that's just law enforcement. But undercover investigators, paid informants in other, like, crime activity for, again, places like the kkk. Yeah, that's not something that private groups do. So, for example, James o', Keefe, who does a lot of independent investigating, where he'll dress up as a gay guy, it's almost always a gay guy, and he'll go pretend to be a raging homosexual and go on dates with dudes and then get that guy to, like, blob a bunch of stuff. James o' Keefe never says, hey, you know what you should do? You should stab straight people. He never does that. He never encourages people to break the law. And even if he had paid informants, he doesn't encourage them to inflame things to make them bigger. No, that's illegal. That would be called being an accessory to a crime. And at state and federal levels, in almost every jurisdiction that I can think of, those are state and federal felonies on conspiracy, aiding and abetting obstruction of law enforcement, harboring of perhaps terrorist activities. Especially if we're talking about some of the codes in Virginia, in Texas, in Florida, in California, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Nevada. So very, very much not illegal. Or, excuse me, very, very much not legal. After exposing this stuff that the SPLC did, how did the media initially run to frame it? Well, Ms. Now said that because the SPLC was under investigation at all, this is proof that Trump is racist. It is. It is. They've gone after the Southern Poverty Law center, but not the kkk. They've gone after the people going, the civil rights organizations, but not the actual freed. The proud boys. What do you expect them? You're right, Michael. Excuse me, I forgot who we're dealing with.
Scott Jennings
Thank you.
Brad
They're on the side of the extremity.
Scott Jennings
Extremely.
Tony Kennett
No, they're on the side of racists and people who undermine the very principles of the country.
Scott Jennings
And they have been from the very
Tony Kennett
beginning, because that's where Donald Trump has always nurtured himself. Bottom line. Okay, so that's how they're covering it. Oh. Ooh. Nope. Bad. Bad choice. Bad call. Bad call. Allow me to break down some of the things that they've done. Two things that are illegal. So first of all, Their informants or field sources were active leaders. And I mean like in the leadership chats helping to organize the white supremacist events that they would come out. Remember how the Lincoln Project was involved in 2024, that the tiki Torch rally were a bunch of people who were clearly incorrectly identified as being like registered Democrats. Remember that? Oh, the Lincoln Project may have been involved in planning that kind of a hoax. SPLC fully pushed and then paid for the Charlottesville, Virginia Unite the Right rally. But also, also, not only did they pay members hundreds of thousands of dollars each in the Ku Klux Klan, United Klans of America, National Socialist Party of America, that's the Nazis, the National Alliance, Aryan nations, et cetera. They also did something that is a nonprofit organization, which again they are. They have a nonprofit wing and then they have an action 501C4 wing. So they have the Southern Poverty Law center and then the Southern Poverty Law Action Fund, which is the group that can endorse because like nonprofits that are 501 C3s that can't endorse political candidates, 501 C4s can. And so the Southern Poverty Law Center Action Fund endorsed Kamala Harris and Joe Biden and about every other Democrat. But the Southern Poverty Law center lied to the donors because the Southern Poverty Law center then takes that money and then, for example, gives grants to the Southern Poverty Law Center Action Fund and then also pays members of the kkk. You're not allowed to do this. You're not allowed. If I take money as a 501C3, and I did, I ran a 501C3 for a while chalkboard review here on my mug. And I had to be very clear. Any donations that we were given, I had to say exactly who they came from when we got them, what we used them for. The irs, which by the way, actually has a pretty friendly helpline regarding this kind of stuff for a first time nonprofit runner to walk me through all of the things I needed to make sure I reported and how I reported them. The language was very specific so that I wasn't lying and defrauding my donors. Do you think that a lot of people who donated to the SPLC to fight the KKK would have been thrilled to hear that the SPLC was funding the kkk. Yikes. Huge yikes. They set up all of these shell companies like Fox Photography, Rare Books Warehouse to money launder again, also, that's a felony. Big felony. Now again, in case you thought that was kind of as bad as it Gets. Oh, no, no. Because it also turns out, just like with the, you know, the Eric Swalwell stuff in which all of these Democrats said, oh, he's our guy. He's amazing. He's super. He's so moral and amazing. He's awesome. You know, Ilhan Omar is wonderful. And now they're biting their tongues because they made those big endorsements. Well, it turns out that the splc, when it's the tip of your spear on the left wing for accusing everyone that you don't like of being a racist, bigoted, homophobic, whatever that again, while they were organizing the very events that they were accusing others of. Like, for example, one month after Kamala Harris was endorsed by the Southern Poverty Law Center Action Fund, she would get up on stage and repeat this widely debunked hoax against Donald Trump regarding the very rally that the SPLC organized. Here's Kamala.
Brad
Let's remember Charlottesville, where there was a mob of people carrying tiki torches spewing anti Semitic hate. And what did the president then at the time say? There were fine people on each side.
Tony Kennett
Again, not what he said, not even remotely what he said. But the organization endorsing her did literally plan and fund that rally. You may remember that as exactly why old Joe Biden, in a semi lucid moment said Charlottesville was the moment he decided, I gotta run for president. I ran for president in 2020 because of what I saw in Charlottesville. Because of what I saw. I was on my phone, I saw ads saying hot moms in my area wanted to meet. And then I scrolled because I. I was confused. And I saw Charlottesville Irving in August of 2017. Extremists coming out of the woods carrying torches, their veins bulging from their necks, carrying Nazi swastikas and chanting the same exact anti Semitic bile. Splc. Incredible. I mean, I mean, truly the biggest of yikes. The biggest of yikes indeed. Radio crew will send you guys off to the commercial. Don't give any money to the SPLC while we're gone. We're gonna continue on the live stream commercial free. It's the Tony Kinid cast here on the Daily Signal. Now, never you fear. Maybe here in a bit we'll get into, you know, some of the other clips. Jamie Raskin, Pramila Jayapal and all of their. Oh, the splc. So important. It's so wonderful. It's so great. I want to talk about a different kind of fraud here, though. Ilhan Omar. Ilhan Omar of the Brusbind variety. The lady who's famous for some people did something. And I'm not talking about her and her brother. I'm talking about her framing of 9, 11. Ilhan Omar, a truly terrible human being who likely committed multiple counts of immigration fraud to enter the United States and is now the congresswoman of Mogadi Kashukpulupus. Whatever. So what is Ilhan Omar in trouble over right now? Well, according to the Wall Street Journal, Representative Ilhan Omar filed documents with Congress saying that her wealth was between $6 million and $30 million. Not unlikely with congressmen and women. Again, that kind of a thing is not totally unheard of. There are more and more Americans by the day who are rather suspicious of these things. But now, after being asked about it by, again, the same Lindell TV reporter who, again, despite the organization that she's working for and everything about Mike Lindell, has genuinely done more effective congressional person to person reporting and question asking than anyone I've ever seen. Truly. Well, now Ilhan Omar has come forward to say that was a mistake and her wealth is actually between $18,000 and $95,000. Oh, there's a big surprise. That's an incredible. I think I'm gonna have a heart attack and die from that surprise. Yeah, that's really, really, really suspicious. Oh, and also the. Her husband's winery, which is what we were told you and I were told is what all of this money was being allocated to, while her husband owns a very fancy $30 million winery in California. And, and I mean, after all, when your family makes money, you know, may, you know, I don't know, siblings share, maybe your net wealth goes up. That. That's why, you know, just a little friendly, little friendly winery there. And then people said, wait a minute, aren't they Muslim? Alcohol is haram. How does she own a winery? What is like a Baptist winery? It's a Welch's distillery. Get out of here. What are you talking about? And then Thanos snapped his fingers, and all of a sudden the winery was erased from existence. You may remember, not too long ago. Again, now there are records just scrubbing everywhere that Ilhan Omar's family, any winery for this $30 million thing? Here was a question from a couple of weeks ago that now has a little bit of a different light on it.
Brad
Hi, Congresswoman Omar, you were just talking about how Trump's economy has failed the American people, but I think the American people really want to know how you went from a negative 65,000 before coming into Congress to over $30 million in just seven years. My. My disclosure is public now. Yeah, it is. And so a lot of people now are looking into that and finding Escrew Winery. A winery that doesn't actually seem to exist. Is that a real winery or do
Tony Kennett
you all actually look at and read things or do you just ask silly questions? Oh, silly question. Oh, silly. It doesn't exist. They went out to Escrew Winery. It's not there. Oh. Do you just ask silly questions? Mmm. And I'm sorry, I'm forgetting the best part. She refused to show up for a Minnesota fraud hearing to answer questions about this involvement in defeating our future fraud scheme. Today we're gonna bring the radio crew back from commercial one more time. A lot more news to cover tonight. Don't go anywhere. It's the Tony Kindid cast here on the Daily Signal. This is the tony kennett cast on 93 wibc. Welcome back. Tony Knitcast here on the Daily Signal, nationally syndicated, first on 93 WIBC. I want to give you a bit of an update on the crime report of the day. A little something, a little something fancy here that we like to do. First of all, a brand new report that's not fraud. From Reuters. This afternoon, right before 4pm newly released documents show the Trump administration. You ready? Set up a legal framework allowing hundreds of millions of dollars in anonymous private donations to fund a planned White House ballroom while limiting the scope of federal conflict of interest reviews tied to the project. Ooh, that's right. So the, the, the Trump administration, instead of doing what might normally be a federal opportunity for some kind of a donation system in which you're gonna donate right here and then you're gonna get huge tax returns, you're gonna donate to the Shamwow 3.0. It's gonna be great. And then we're gonna give you a tax return. Maybe put your name on a plaque or a brick or Ilhan Omar's turban or something. We'll figure it out just for you. No, the Trump administration set up a framework for anonymous donations so that people wouldn't be harassed, doxxed and accused of a bunch of conflict of interest stuff. And then the Trump administration set up particular barriers in place so that the legal framework that would expose those who are contributing to this. And then like again, if it were public, they would be making money off of this or at least a tax write off situation, which, I mean, I don't really even have an issue then, because if you're donating to the White House ballroom, it's the White House. You know, you don't earn any of that back. And if you're paying money into it and you're getting a tax return, again, I'm still not seeing quite what the issue is. I mean, the building is going to be nice, but it's not going to be like billions of dollars nice. I guess they're concerned that there's going to be a bunch of conflict of interest stuff. I'm still looking for it. I believe right now that the list of builders on the particular project so far, there don't appear to be any kind of conflict of interest. Things also highly, highly, highly unlikely that the builder would donate their own money and then be paid their own money that they're not getting tax returns on to work on the White House ballroom. Please don't be that. So, so Reuters having an absolute real one. They paid somebody the money. They paid somebody money to write that. That brings us over to a little bit more on the crime docket. So first of all, over in New York City, they're having a time. They're having a time. Zoran Mamdani's leadership. So two things. First and foremost, there was a New York City councilman who decided that the time was ripe to throw a bunch of punches at federal police officers. Producer Allison in Indianapolis. I might keep my hand on the dump button for this. I'm not entirely sure. There's not a lot of swearing in this, You know, normal New York City stuff. Right. Well, the individual who's arrested here in New York, who do you protect, this excitement here? This would be Democrat, socialist council member Che Aussie, who then, you know, gets body slammed and cuffed by NYPD obstructing a legal eviction in Brooklyn over fake deed theft stuff. So Mamdani has gone all in on this. Oh, man, it's the landlords who are out to get you. They're gonna, they're gonna get you again. He's presiding over all of the restrictions that make it wildly expensive to build in New York City. And he's not actually about removing those restrictions. He's for removing restrictions for his own little state owned grocery store kind of a thing. Not for the rest of the grocery stores that, you know, screw them. They still have to deal with it. But old mom Donnie though, man, he, he's, he, he's out here making sure that, you know, stoking fears, getting people out there again, own city council members getting in violent altercations with police. An 87 year old transgender man, Harvey Marcellin, also began his trial today for allegedly murdering Susan Layden and dismembering her body in gruesome ways. The trial began in Brooklyn where Marcellin was seen sitting in a wheelchair wearing black clothing and a white shirt. He used multiple Facebook accounts with his victim's photo. He allegedly became obsessed with the woman to such an extent that he planned her murder meticulously before taking her body parts for days. Again, I'm being told all of the true threats right now in the country are all of these white men. So far what I'm seeing is the white supremacy propped up by the SPLC and then the LGBTQ +2 whatever community acting pretty much as expected as normal. So not only that, but also on the left side of the, the political assassination encouragement side when you're not Zoran Mamdani and you're proposing, you know, attacks on landlords and people who own property in New York City while Governor Kathy Hochul is trying to slip a little super duper second double tax in if you own multiple properties and one of them happens to be in New York City. Daniel Barber, a convicted murderer, was arrested after sending unhinged violent death threats via email to acting ICE Director Todd Lyons. Now allow me to provide a little bit of a reading here to you. What were some of these emails saying? Well, was it paid for by the splc? I don't know, maybe. Check out the language. Quote, your Gestapo Nazi maggot ICE agents should be terrified executed right there as well with two bleeping bullets to the back of their maggot Nazi heads. Man, I, I can't, I can't fathom why the Trump administration wouldn't want federal law enforcement's identifications and and addresses not to be publicized going in to carry out federal law enforcement. Similar stuff happening over in Indiana for the very first time ever on the show, I'm citing an Indie star article. So this is a momentous day for a couple of reasons. However, I will point out quite clearly Kate Sharon, the First Amendment reporter over at the IndyStar, I believe one of their former Publius interns. She's a, she's a really good writer, she's a good reporter, she said. John Scott Johnson, a wealthy Fisher's software engineer, organized and funded many of last year's biggest anti Trump protests in Indianapolis, including the very first no Kings protest. His demonstrations drew thousands of people to the statehouse and featured high profile speakers such as state lawmakers and Representative Andre Carson. You know, the guy that Indiana Republicans didn't redistrict out by allowing a racially gerrymandered district in Indianapolis to remain. Well, anyhow, get this. This Johnson guy behind the scenes not only faced accusations of Jim Jones style manipulations and coercive sex parties. Also allegedly he might have been planning drone firebombing on the Lieutenant Governor of Indiana. We're going to cover this over on the live stream. Don't go anywhere. Radio crew will catch you guys a little bit later. It's the Tony Kinnit cast here on the Daily Signal. Now I'm going to keep reading this again because I think that Kate is a very good reporter here and how she's framing this. Behind the scenes, Johnson faced accusations of Jim Jones style manipulation and coercive sex parties because, you know, of course some of his former allies also reported him to the police. His former allies. So not like random Hoosier Republicans. Not some guy on Twitter, you know, not. Not Grandma Jean on Facebook. No, no, no. His former allies of the Indiana Democrat Progressive Movement reported him to the police, quote, saying he had plans to use drones to drop explosives on public officials. So remember when those of us were telling you that when you call your political opponents, no matter who they are, just anyone out there. Christo, fascist Nazi, Jack booted Gestapo, whatever kind of thugs. Hennig, of course, you know, you have groups like the SPLC artificially inflating the white supremacy stuff, pushing it as hard as they can because there's not enough gas, there's not enough juice for it on its own. Again, I've talked about this before, but like Nick Fuentes has, has paid tens of thousands of dollars to botters on the Black Hat World forums and other affiliated kind of bot construction markets because there's just not enough of an appetite for the white supremacy thing here in the United States for him. So anywho, that's what's being painted though is the entire Republican Party and I'll show you that in a second. Pramila, Jaya, Paul, Jamie Raskin making this case. It turns out that you have a lot of mentally unstable people, not just random people. This is what's presented to you, right? Oh, it's just, it's just, it's just random, you know, just, you know, happenstance occasionally. I'm just going to make the case, guys. A prominent leader for Indiana Democrats and liberals here in the state, a guy with a normal job, normal individual is now alleged of announcing plans to do drone terrorist bombings. So her to follow here, she says those accusations, which Johnson and his remaining allies staunchly deny. Oh, there's a big surprise. Ultimately ripped apart one of Indiana's most influential anti Trump protest groups. All dozen of them are just torn to shreds there. The turmoil within the movement has remained largely hidden from public view. Near the end of last summer, Johnson's organization, Indiana 50501, seemed to simply vanish, erased from existence. Johnson, who had MC'd previous protests, often in an orange vest and an unpaid protester T shirt, disappeared from onstage lineups. I just, I'm gonna, I'm gonna scoop down. She kind of gives kind of the framing, you know, of this individual and you know what he's done and that kind of things. So phones and microwaves and tactical gear Quote Eric Maddox was a down on his luck software developer driving for Uber to make ends meet when he met Johnson at a protest last year. Johnson took an interest in him. Maddox said Johnson soon hired him to develop software for a management tool for protest organizers. Maddox shared screenshots with the indie star of Daily Daily $200 cash app payments from Johnson Daily $200 payments Anyway, Johnson told IndyStar that Maddox was a volunteer, not an employee. I mean, if you're getting paid 200 bucks a day, at some point you got to send out that, that 1099 NEC, all right? I mean, you, they don't list the actual total that this individual was paid, but you can't do that. Anyway, Johnson also said he spotted him for money. Money for food, medicine and bills, things like that. Johnson instructed organizers Again, I'm quoting here from the Indy Star. Johnson instructed organizers to put their phones in the microwave during meetings to obstruct government surveillance, two activists told the IndyStar. Johnson insisted that members of the Proud Boys were following him and watching his home. Incredible. He began using a drone to monitor his property. His adult son and others were seen wearing tactical vests and carrying AR15 rifles at Johnson's home, according to police and activists, Johnson said the Trump administration's targeting of people on the left warranted such precautions. Quote, there was very much a feeling that we're going to be targeted by the administration. This was a valid fear. It's only gotten worse. Just, just insane. So, I mean, there, there's also kind of context about, like maybe they're doing orgies and, and apple pie, moonshine, all this other insane nonsense. A July 15 affidavit from Indianapolis police Effectives essentially, though, at one point he started planning to firebomb via A drone Conservative U.S. senators homes, quote till they got the message, end quote. In a Sept. 10 email to an FBI task force officer, Maddox said that one of the potential one of the potential targets was Indiana Lieutenant Governor Micah Beckwith. There was also talk between other members and John John where John was proposing burning down Micah Beckwith's house. Just insane, insane stuff. And then, of course, violating all of the laws that we're told that Republicans are always around violating. So, like doing a bunch of 3D printing ghost gun stuff. I. I believe we do actually have a clip of. Of from the indie stars interview with him that. That I do want to run because this is just. Guys, it's just. It's just nuts. I mean, these people is a prominent progressive leader in the state of Indiana.
Brad
What really got me was when he wanted to set Micah Beckwith's house on fire with his children inside of it.
Scott Jennings
For me, it's after I moved in
Tony Kennett
and he literally is asking me to build bombs. There were things like, let's see, we're all wearing matching T shirts where there are weapons on the compound. There's a compound.
Brad
There's like an inner. Inner circle.
Tony Kennett
Yeah. There's like multiple levels of. Of concentric circles of leadership.
Brad
Talks without phones. Yeah. There's a lot of manipulation when it comes to what we should be afraid of, too. That was very culty.
Tony Kennett
I mean, at some point, gang, I mean, you gotta ask the question. All of the stuff that I was told, I was promised. I mean, I was. I was. I was told pinky promise. Oh, man, this is. This is all. Oh, they're. They're gonna. You know, this is what the right is doing. You know, this is what they're out there. I mean, remember you had. What was it? Maxine Waters, representative from California, out there making the case that all these Republicans are out there training in the hills and, and planning all of these raids and stuff. So so far what I'm seeing is leftist groups doing exactly this. Exactly, exactly this. Insane. Now, again, speaking of planning, the terror that you are claiming, you know, doesn't happen at all. How the left relied on the Southern Poverty Law center is still just. I mean, it's truly bewildering considering that the SPLC was creating the very stuff that you'd have people like Jamie Raskin and Pramila Jayapal saying was the worst thing in the world and all this other nonsense. I believe we have that clip ready to go. Clip 10. Here's Pramila Jayapal going on about the virtues of the splc.
Brad
It's quite unprecedented for us to use committee time, valuable committee time, to target a specific group. And based on what I'm hearing, the criticisms of the Southern Poverty Law center seem to boil down to three things. One, that it has healthy finances and an endowment.
Tony Kennett
Oh, healthy. Wait, an endowment. Hang on a second. That's suspicious.
Brad
Two, that it collaborated with the Department of Justice during the Biden administration. And three, that it calls out white supremacy, including white Christian nationalism.
Tony Kennett
This, I mean, it also like, you know, creates that very thing that they supposedly fight against. You know, you got, you got proposed firefighters here setting fire to homes so they have something to do. Uh, no, I also do love. She mentions the Biden administration there. Oh, yeah, I'm so sorry. I forgot to tell you during the show. Silly of me. Silly of me, indeed. It just so happens that, that in this, this instance regarding the splc, that the Biden administration, you know, who was using the Department of Justice to leak information about certain protesters regarding the Face act, they started a very limited investigation into the Southern Poverty Law Center. And according to Acting Attorney General Todd Blanch, I mean, just it, it stopped one day, vanished, just evaporated from the records. So the Biden administration again, you know, Pramila Jaya poll saying, oh, so very, very important. Oh, it's wonderful. It's doing all these amazing things. I mean, man, the investigation into the wire fraud and the money laundering and the lying on federal tax fraud and then also funding terrorist groups in the United States. Yeah. I mean, if the Biden administration halted the investigation into that, that's. That's a series of House Oversight Committee meetings in the least.
Brad
This is such important work, and yet we're trying to undermine the SPLC simply because it disagrees with far right policies and shines a spotlight on white supremacist ideology.
Tony Kennett
I mean, you know, Jamie Raskin, Representative Jamie Raskin, one of the brave defenders of Maryland man Kilmar Abrego Garcia, you know, the MS.13 tattooed, knuckled wife beater. You remember? You remember? Oh, yeah, yeah. Well, it just so happens he had the same kind of. Same kind of stuff, same kind of thing, different day regarding his defense of the SPLC and anger at Republicans for touching it. Now, in other times, Democrats and Republicans alike would rely on the Southern Poverty Law center to help us keep track of the movements of violent white supremacy in the country. By the way, when I made it clear in kind of an article from the Daily Signal just a couple of days ago that when, for example, Representative Maria Salazar of Florida was using left wing sources in order to come up with her data for the argument that we need to give like ultimate super duper kind of sort of amnesty, we can't really Technically call it amnesty, even though a lot of Democrats arguing for the bill, including her sometimes as a Republican call an amnesty, is, you know, those kind of left wing think tanks. Well, what kind of organizations that she pulled from do direct work and build some of their data from the Southern Poverty Law center, including the Brookings Institute, by the way, the Brookings Institute has, as recent as I believe 18 months ago, pulled data from the Southern Poverty Law Center. So and by the way, the argument that like Republicans are using this constantly, very, very few, very, very few are anymore. And there's a reason why the Southern Poverty Law center has been a vigilant voice in civil society against radical white nationalist violence and extremism, neo Nazism and other forces across the political spectrum that spread organized hate from any quarter. The president, however, okay, I'm going to ignore when he dives into having to read from his series of notes to continue there. It's just a terrible look and the scandals are not getting any better for him. Now, does this mean that Republicans have the opportunity to sit back and take it easy? Absolutely not. And not just in here, but also in state races for those in Virginia right now. I want to make this pretty clear because I know there has been a lot of heartburn. There's been a lot of anger over the Virginia redistricting here in the country. And some of the arguments been, oh, all of these Virginia voters are totally disenfranchised now. Okay? So first and foremost, the fact that you have a congressional map that does not roughly equal the percentages of Republicans and Democrats in the state has very little to nothing to do with whether a map is fair in and of itself. Hang on, hang on. Don't, don't start typing yet. Give me a second. Because the Republicans don't all live in Republican districts and the Democrats don't all live in Democrat districts. Now again, you can kind of draw based on where you think the Republicans and the Democrats are who typically get out and vote. But just because Texas redistricts thing around doesn't mean that Democrats can no longer vote or that there are a fewer total number of Democrats in a certain district. That kind of argument has been tried and thrown out a lot before. However, there are two very important things about why in Virginia's case, yes, there is a very specific kind of, of actual disenfranchisement that has occurred. So if the state legislature of Virginia had gotten together and had voted, hey, we're going to redistrict in the middle of this term, you know, five years out, or I should say now four years out from the census. We're going to go ahead and do this redistricting early here. That's what we're going to do. Then I would argue, based on the United States Constitution and how the founders and the framers set things up, that the state legislature is supposed to do this. We talked about this on the show last night. You go to the second half of last night's show. I cover this pretty much in pretty significant depth. But state constitutional ballots and amendments are garbage. They're garbage. In Colorado, you have several amendments that are in total disagreement with each other. Constitutional amendments that are voted on by the people of a state. I don't care whether it's Republican state, Democrat state, whatever. No, no, no, no. That's not how this was supposed to set up. Letting people be lazy so that mob rule can just show up every once in a while and change something is not what it's supposed to be about. You have a state legislature for a reason and they're supposed to be directly involved in how House of Representatives members, excuse me, the House of Representatives, how those members are elected and also how the Senate is elected. Now the 17th amendment stripped away how senators had a relationship with state legislatures. And so the very last vestige that state legislatures had as a term of accountability with Congress because after the Supremacy act that kind of stuff changed. Your state legislature is supposed to draw the maps, not pawn it off on an independent redistricting committee. It's not supposed to be because if you have several political parties in your state that are prominent, where's the Libertarian district? Where's if you have 10% of your voters are Libertarian, are they supposed to get a district in Virginia? Is that how it works? No. People need to be very focused on their state legislatures. Now again, constitutional referendums are very, very hanky. I've already talked about that in, in, in its fulsome. And by the way, no, it doesn't mean that there are no Republicans in Massachusetts or California at all. But based on how the state assembly stuff works, there is a huge call for Americans to get involved, involved in state legislature and especially in those elections, changing how that works. Now that said, regarding Virginia, are we actually going to see this bill, or, excuse me, this referendum passing now? Are we actually going to see this go into effect before the midterm election? That's the question. And I think the best person to answer this here is Ken Cuccinelli, friend of the show. He's been on a couple of times. Former attorney General, he was on with Scott Jennings today, another friend of the show. Great guy. Here is what Ken suggested and I'm going to skip past Scott questions because essentially Scott asks him, what do you think about this? I'm not trying to be rude. It's just a five minute clip, as you know by now in Virginia last night, the vote. So he kind of gives the update there. Yes, you're headed to the you've already argued this in front of the Virginia Supreme Court. They've not issued a final ruling.
Scott Jennings
What can we expect here over the
Tony Kennett
next few days or weeks?
Scott Jennings
Yes, Scott, this is going to move very fast in Virginia's courts. The precedent here is that they the Supreme Court wouldn't touch a case until after the referendum. They consider that part of the legislative process, just like the governor signing or vetoing a bill. So there's no reason to have a lawsuit or at least a hearing decided until after that's done. Well, now the yes folks with 4 to 1 spending have won by about 2 or 3 points and it is time to get on with the lawsuits. And the yes folks probably are going to look back at Tuesday and think that was the easy part because they have so badly violated several constitutional provisions. Mind you, we're talking about the state constitution of Virginia, not the federal constitution that they're going to have a hard time keeping this from being voided by the Virginia Supreme Court. So that's what's next. Briefs are due tomorrow. The Virginia Supreme Court, they're going to have oral argument on Monday. There's another case coming up out of a circuit court in southwest Virginia that's being heard today and I imagine will be consolidated or play catch up with the case right now in front of the Virginia Supreme Court. So this is going to go very fast. I think we're going to have a final ruling in May. Best guess. And I, you know, I'm not a betting man, but if I were, I'd be betting on no in the courts. Even though they lost by a couple of points yesterday at the ballot box.
Tony Kennett
He predicts as soon as May, he said later in a post on X. So huge thanks to Scott Jennings. A huge thanks to Ken Cuccinelli. Thanks for letting us use your clip. And then of course to Western Lensman as well, who always provides so many excellent clips for the show. So again, this has been quite a full day of news. It's, it's the real question, I think. Also here, Ken predicts that this is going to move through the Virginia courts really quickly. I Don't. Maybe he knows better than I do. I mean, in spades. But if courts move as slowly as a lot of these appeals processes go, the real question is going to be whether there is enough time to do this redistricting before, like declaring candidates in certain district. I know the Commonwealth of Virginia has rules about residency in certain districts. That that's gonna be a really quick turnaround. I mean, we're already getting close to May. I mean, I know that because at the end of this week, I'm speaking for the. Oh, I just see we've, we've lost our stream. Oh my. That's very, very strange indeed. It's coming back now. That's very weird. Sorry about that, guys. I'm not entirely sure why YouTube cut the stream there a little bit. Yeah, sorry. If it's, if it's cutting in and out there on. You might refresh. No idea why that happened. Very confusing. We are going to kind of reach out and see what in the world happened there. Anywho, as I was saying regarding Virginia right now, in the kind of governmental situation, I think the real question is going to be whether or not you actually see Virginians be forced into this decision by the 2026 midterms. That's coming up both sooner than you think, although it is still far out. You can see some delaying tactics being used here that there's a, there's a definite chance that that's, that's found, I mean, in the Supreme Court might move in here. That was. It's going to be really funny. Really, really, really, really funny. If it's going to be really funny. If we see that the wording of the ballot question being super convoluted and therefore being something that people couldn't reasonably understand and choose, if that's what ends up cutting things at the knees here, that'd be really great. There's one clip that was sent in from a friend of mine that I'm told that I have to play right now because there's a question in our mailtime bag about James Talarico to finish my thought also regarding getting really late in the year because again, we're here to May now or almost to May. I'm speaking at the very last Lincoln Day dinner in the state of Indiana for the Republican Party here on Friday for Henry county where I was born and raised. So that's right before the primary at the beginning of May for us. So if we're getting that close on here over on the Virginia side of things, if you're Going to start moving congressional maps around. That's going to get real interesting real quick. Okay, on to some mail time because you guys have said some really kind things, a couple of mean things, maybe even a sarcastic thing or two regarding the show tonight. And so in our description, if you go down to the Discord link, you can find a channel there, hashtag mail time to kind of throw some questions this way. So first question tonight, a very, very good question from David Maeskur, a friend of the show, asking why is Ilhan Omar allowed to stay in Congress? So the answer to that is the House needs to expel her or you actually need to see criminal indictments brought up to where things kind of get so unavoidable they have to expel her. Because you can send a congressman or congresswoman to prison. Mostly by the time we get to that point, like we saw with Senator Menendez In New Jersey, Mr. Gold Bars from Egyp. Yeah, I, I just, I don't see any other way than her getting expelled now. There is a huge amount of momentum right now for the cell. So I really was not expecting sheila sherfilis syphilis McCormick, whatever. I really was not expecting her to get through as long as she did. I really wasn't expecting her to resign. So after we saw Representative Eric Swalwell resign and then we saw Representative Tony Gonzalez resign, now Sheila's resigned. It's going to be really difficult for some of these people. No matter how popular they are. The Democrats need to shed baggage. Right now, the Democrats are essentially like an airplane that is struggling to make it through the air. It's stalling. And they're looking at the propellers not spinning, you know, not, not exactly looking too good. And so instead of saying, hey, maybe we're out of fuel or hey, maybe we're flying straight into the wind. I know the problem is we have too much dead weight. And so they're tossing out Eric Swalwell and they're tossing out Sherphilis McCormick and they're tossing out all of these various pieces of baggage in the party. And they're like, that'll help us go faster. That's the logic behind it. Now, do I believe this is actually going to do anything? No. And the reason that I don't think that it's going to do anything for them comes down to a clip that I was sent this afternoon also asking what I think about James Talarico's chances in Texas. And both of those can be answered in the exact same way. The more James Talarico is allowed to talk, the dumber things come out of his mouth. He is getting progressively more stupid and arrogantly so as we get closer to the election. So Pete Buttigieg has a pretty smart way of managing this. Pete Buttigieg claims to be a Christian and, you know, claims to be, you know, has some fundamentalist theological roots and understanding and all this stuff. And when he's asked certain spiritual questions, he'll avoid talking about it because he's not going to win that battle. James Talarico, part of his brand is pretending to be a little indie fundy, non denom, Democrat, Christian boy. But those two things are very, very, very incompatible. So when, you know, Jake Tapper on CNN's the Lead asked him about his religious views on God, James Talarico decided to call God non binary. National Republican Senate Committee is already highlighting comments that you've made as a state representative. For example, they're highlighting this. God is both masculine and feminine and everything in between. God is non binary. What is your response to them using that and explain what you were talking about? Well, I understand that that comment is a little provocative. I said it on the House floor when the extremists in the Republican legislature were picking on school kids who were different. Huh. But I don't think it's controversial theologically. Most Christians would acknowledge that God is beyond gender. No, first of all, non binary is a kind of gender. So like in the, in the actual, there's denotation and there's connotation. Connotation. Denotation is the specific dictionary definition word, what it means all the time. No matter what connotation means, it changes based on the context here. So this is a big debate during the Comey 8647 thing because depending on the context, 86 means to get rid of, but it can mean 86 get rid of like in a restaurant, 86 those eggs, Madge. Or like 86 like, oh man, he 86 to the police chief, like that kind of a thing. There was a connotation question. Context. The problem for Talarico here, and this is where he's going to get boxed in very easily by whichever Senate runoff candidate he faces against non binary. In this connotation, it's one of the genders, right? You're non binary. You're neither male nor female. You're just, you're expressing non binary. It's very magical and also not biological whatsoever. The problem here is that he is claiming that God, because he is outside of man, is non binary. There's A problem and a pretty significant one. So while a lot of people foolishly believe the Bible has been translated like hundreds of times, it is not. The Bible is from its original three languages translated into all of the other languages individually. So the Bible didn't go from Hebrew to Greek to Latin to German to French to English. That's not the case. The Bible, the Old Testament written in Hebrew and some parts Aramaic, the New Testament written in Koine Greek, and when Christ speaks some parts Aramaic, the conversational language of the time. So the thing is, we can actually go back to those languages in context, in the denotative and the connotative, and see, when God is called he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he. I don't mean laughter. When God is called he, it is a masculine noun every time and not masculine in a different way. So like when the Hebrews are describing God, they don't describe him as he and then turn around and use a different kind of he for man. The he is the same word. It is the pronoun, the. The possessing masculine gender termination. So he's just dead wrong here. And when. I love this with that. Well, I think Christians would say that statement is a gaslighting statement. It opens it up for a lot of people to make stupid statements that they don't. They don't adhere to. So, for example, someone who would consider themselves a Christian because they went to mass or a Christian, a Christmas or an Easter service back in 1992, oh, I'm a Christian because I went to church once. Like, no, but now you give them the opportunity to say, oh, as a Christian, of course, I believe that. Oh, yes, very much liso. In fact, the Apostle Paul in his letter to the Galatians, said that in Christ there is neither male nor female. And so if someone's got a problem with that statement, they shouldn't take it up with me. They should take it up with the Apostle Paul. The Apostle Paul, Who wrote a lot of New Testament letters and maybe the Book of Hebrews, we're not quite sure. See the actual coin. A Greek word that he uses is the masculine he, and not just sometimes the entire. The entire time. In fact. For example, in 2nd Timothy 4, chapter 4, verse 16, the. my. At first. Excuse me. Quote from the Apostle Paul to Timothy, Quote at my first answer. No man stood with me, but all men forsook me. I pray that God, or excuse me, I pray to God that it may not be laid to their charge notwithstanding the Lord stood with me. The coronet words. Therefore God and for Lord are both masculine. They're not non binary. And one of the reasons why that was so important to Paul, especially in the epistles, especially in these letters, not just a little note to the mailbox at Blue's Clues. There were a series of deities that were non binary. In the Roman adopted from the Greek pantheon, there were a series of gods who were goddesses and were neither. And Paul always pushed back against this. You also see St. John pushing back against that decisively and clearly. And sorry, I'm gonna upset the Catholics here. James, the brother of Christ. When James, the physical brother of Christ alludes to God, not just Jesus, but to God, he refers to him in the masculine. So in other words, you're dead wrong. Don't take advice from people who have to twist God's word around to justify their weird sexual tastes. And then don't be surprised when some of the biggest, you know, influential individuals in there are holding weird drunk, moonshine laden orgies, allegedly while either committing immigration fraud and faking wineries or threatening to firebomb the Lieutenant governor of Indiana. So you know, just, just to be clear, I, I just, you know, I'm, I'm, I just don't feel bad watching Democrats cry those kind of tears. That doesn't bother me at all in the slightest. James Talarico, every time he opens his mouth. The Southern, good old folk of, of the Texan, you know, the Southern Baptist Convention that resides in Texas, they ain't voting for that. No. You're going to need a lot of, of what are they, what are they called? Ex vangelicals. You know, girls who married a guy in high school and then ran off with the best man from the wedding and then went to go be little miss liberal girl and know nothing about politics whatsoever. Yeah, that, that voter base, that ain't happened. And yes, that particular example was very specific. Anyway, little bit more on the mailtime side, we had a couple of super chats tonight. I want to make this clear for those of you who are new, you do not need, you do not need to give money to the show through here. You don't need to do super chats. You don't have to. If you are like super desperate. Yeah. Oh man, I really, really, really got to. You can go to daily signal.com, there's like a donation link. That way it can be a tax write off for you. You don't even have to build the White House ballroom for it. But those who do give super chats, we're very grateful. We try to Read them from wow, Life is rough. A $5 super chat asking why is Thune not passing the Save America Act? The answer is because he's terrified of getting rid of the filibuster. He doesn't want people to call him mean and stinky. That's the reason why. Now the filibuster has an expiration date. It is going to end. There is no question in my mind. Even the most moderate of moderate Democrats, the last Democrats who stood against getting rid of the filibuster, Kirsten Gillibrand and Joe Manchin, are not in the Senate. It's done, it's over, it's gone. So if he gets rid of it, I mean, first of all, I mean, I've really kind of stayed away from doing this because there's a question as to whether or not you're really supposed to advocate policy from my role. Here's what the Republican Senate needs to do. Number one, you need to go to recess for about three days and allow the Trump. I mean, real true, honest to God, recess. Then you go ahead and have the Trump administration do all of the recess appointments. All of them. Get them all through. Be done with this Chuck Schumer whining about the Trump administration. Screw that. At least give us a couple of months with a fully stocked and staffed administration. Number two, go ahead and move forward for Senate Judicial Committee hearings for judges like James Boasberg. Because the House and the Senate probably need to hold some kind of combined joint judicial committee, which they have done before. They did several of these in the twenties. They need to impeach, convict, and remove judges like James Boasberg. And again, there are other liberal justices in the D.C. court who rule against Trump all the time, who I think are not an issue here. They're following the letter of the law. Even if I don't like the decisions they come up with. Boasberg specifically here, though, stepping outside of the law. Got to get Paula's in. This would be another great example of someone who needs to be gotten rid of in the legal sense. So then what else does the Senate need to do? Get rid of the filibuster and pass the Save America Act. Pass through a couple of other key important Republican legislative promises that were promised by Republican House members and Senate candidates in the 2024 election cycle. You're gonna run on all this stuff. You're gonna deliver? Well, come on, Pizza Hut, let's see it. Get it here in 30 minutes or less. Cause time's running out and I don't want to Hear. I really, truly do not want to hear it. If we get to January 1st of next year and we swear in all of the new congressmen and women, oh, yippee do. And then it's again a majority against the Republicans and it's a Democrat Senate, God forbid. And if it's a Democrat House and a mixed Senate, you are going to see nothing, nothing at all get done, period. It's going to be veto city and investigation city for the next two years. Nothing's going to get done, period. So, yeah, that's what Thune needs to do. Also, the Senate and the House need to pass a new bill that clearly, clearly delineates what the president's tariff responsibilities are because the whole situation last year with Navarro and company, that was a disaster. That needs to be fixed as well. Also, China, we need to go ahead and declare China an actual official enemy of the United States so that anyone who is either taking regular diplomatic trips to China or is taking money from China, the Senate, because the Senate has power over treaties, the Senate needs to make sure they are officially designated a geopolitical foe of the United States so that the State Department can get rid of Code Pink and others. I'm giving you a little wish list here at the end. All right, that's enough rambling for this evening. I know there were a couple of things tonight that maybe you, I don't know, I don't know how you guys, I would love to hear what you guys think of the rebrand. This is my mailtime question to you. So in the, the comments section, don't do it in the live stream chat right now. I mean we can go back and look at them. But if you leave it in the comments section after the video or again, head to the discord, which there's a link to that in the description and tell us what do you think of the rebrand stuff, because I genuinely want to know. I know that the little monitor behind me, the Daily Signal monitor with the new logo there, it's a little too Windows blue screen of death for me. And I know the camera lens isn't really quite right for this. We're kind of working on that. And then also regarding the second angle, kind of the second angle lens shot here, I know this screen is too bright, a little too bright and out there. But if you guys have any suggestions and things, I'd love to hear them and what you think about things. Again, I know you saw some of the Chirons. Some of it was like right on the money. Some of them extended. Some of them didn't come up right at the right time. We're getting that working. We're trying to make things a lot easier and cleaner and more fancy for y' all as we grow as a show. So that all said, thank you very much for tuning in. Hey, first episode of season two is out of the way. I'm Tony Kennett and this is the Tony Kennett cast here on the Daily Signal, nationally syndicated radio and TV on spectrum and first out of 93, WIBC in Indianapolis. Y' all take care.

Tony Kennett deploys a blend of investigative detail, satire, and combative conservative commentary. The show paints ongoing progressive scandals (Virginia redistricting, SPLC, Ilhan Omar, leftwing violence) as proof of deep-rooted hypocrisy among the left, urging listeners to demand accountability and keep vigilant on state-level politics.
