Tony Kennett (68:55)
Gee, why was that? Oh, man. Oh, maybe it's because the rhetoric of this country that has been radically amplified by the left calling for murder, mocking and laughing, encouraging murder, looking forward to the deaths. Well, Donald Trump said that he really didn't care that someone else was murdered. He didn't really care. Or not even murder. He really didn't care. When Robert Reich died, he said, I'm glad he's dead. Okay. Saying that you are glad someone is dead, that's gross. Absolutely. Saying you wish someone would die, that's a little bit worse. Both things are bad. One's a lot worse because one, you are essentially praying for God to damn them. That's kind of bad. Not allowed. So I'm not seeing this little moral equivalency that's being drawn everywhere. All of the sudden, now that the journalists are done hiding under the tables under a real threat. Oh, now we're ready to gallivanter out. We're so brave and amazing. We're on our white horse, protected behind all of our other layers of security. Give me a break. Give me a break. I saw all of you on the ground. I don't, I don't begrudge you for getting on the ground. There was an active threat. By all means, get under the table and protect yourself. That's where I shoved Elizabeth under the, Onto the ground. But don't. Oh, sorry. Not Robert Reich. Robert Reich's life. Who's the other. Who's the Project Lincoln individual? Who, who, who? The. The. Or the, the. The former right wing person. Producer Daniel, Throw that over here. Who's the other person? I, I'm just, I'm, I'm absolutely. And, and just unequivocally not. Oh, there was a comment that was upset that I, that I, I said a, a slightly unfriendly word. Well, I'm, I'm sorry, I'm a little, I'm on, a little bit happier with that one. But if you want to talk about, you know, the St. Paul standards for particular sorts of language, we'll schedule a Bible study and chat it out. So that all said Rob Reiner. Thank you guys. Not Rob, not Robert Reich. Rob Reiner. Thank you for, for the correction there. I wanted to make sure that, that I, that I, that I got that right. Again. Still, still the case in this particular incident. So again, and, or Robert, or Robert Mueller. So, you know, I'm sure. I agree. The robber. I'm sorry, and the Hilton, not the Marriott. The Marriott would in fact be where we were in Milwaukee. And sorry, had to make sure that was also clear though, the difference between the Marriott and Milwaukee. Excuse me, the Marriott and the Hilton. So aside from the media nonsense on all of this, I see us getting to kind of the end of the show. We might have to cover some of the Iranian stuff a little bit tomorrow as well as some of the Supreme Court things on a whole. At the end of this, what do we actually do about this? Because there are all of these calls that we need unity and that we need closeness and amazing. All of the, the hugs and the cuddles and the closeness and all this extra stuff. Unity's not coming. Unity is not coming for two reasons. Number one, because there is no common foundation for the American people to stand on at large. It's not. The polling numbers are split on every single issue, including loving the country and cheering for foreign nations. The United States right now is at a particularly low point in unity. So it's not going to be organic. So what's actually going to bring about the standards for unit? You know, what's actually going to bring out, you know, the, the standards for unity here? Well, you know, Consequences. And I don't mean consequences as in we need to go through a multiple year long super trial and all this other stuff. No, this individual who was charged today on attempted assassination, he should also be charged with terrorism because according to his manifesto, it's clearly what he was trying to do. Achieving political ends by violence. This individual should be hanged. He should be hanged. He should be hanged publicly. Not for spectacle, not for sport. He should be hanged. Not put in front of a firing squad. Not the electric chair, not lethal injection. Here is why. When an individual attempts a capital level crime, capital level crimes like molesting a child or I would also argue Violent and domestic abuse, or in the case of like an attempted assassination or murdering of an official, that is the kind of capital crime that deserves the noose. Why? Because these types of crimes go against every kind of fundamental basis and foundation that society is built upon. They are deeply immoral because they are not only acting in a crim, in the criminal mean of, of improving oneself or like, like trying to get to gain more. They are also attempting to strip and steal the rights of innocence and life from others. And like an assassination that's in a very premeditated thing as opposed to like a. A second or third degree murder situation. Those instances require the noose. And they require the noose because it is humiliating. It is a humiliating death. It must be. It must be. It must be public. It must be the noose. Because a firing squad carries with a dignity. Give me the cigarette. Put the blindfold on. You stand very proudly while you are waiting on the bullet to end your life. I don't care for that. The same with the electric chair. Same with, with the lethal injection stuff. No, it needs to be the hangman's noose. Because that is throughout all of human history. That is the best and most effective way to communicate. We as a culture, as a people, will strip any honor that you have out of attempting to commit this crime again. Not for spectacle, not for leaving his body to rotten to the carrying foul, nothing like that. This isn't meant to be an entertaining thing. It is meant to be a warning. And until there are consequences. This gentle parenting age of the country, or the 1970s age, gentle parenting that came out, that started to really take heed where if you spank your child it's gonna cause psychological damage. So just put them in timeout forever. That's the way our country is now. There's no corporal punishment anywhere. You don't get 10, 20 lashes for drunk driving. You get thrown in jail on the taxpayer dime for taxpayer funded babysitting so you can take classes and work out and you know, have gal pal good fun time. And if you're in California, get a free sex change and then you get released to do it again. Nope. Punishment of that nature must include pain, humiliation, and then making sure it never happens again. You say tony, I don't like that. Too bad. This here's my show. That is exactly. I'm consistent on that. And after this I believe it more than ever. More than ever. That's how the country is. The only way the country is going to be unified is if parents start acting like parents again. And the federal government has to make it clear if you fa, you will fo. And that means, and again, this is one of the reasons that I'm pleased with how Todd Blanche is handling this so far. He's making it clear this is not, we're not going to put up with this. This is why we don't need little style mommy at the podium. Pam Bondi things. By the way, U.S. attorney Janine Pirro, incredible, fiery, to the point, no Barbie stuff. No, hey, guys, I'm Ms. Piro. And the Trump administration, nope, this is what we're going to do. I'm not going to put up with it. Punishments coming and they're investigating further ties to other organizations. Now, some of you may say, hey, that is, you know, that's never going to happen. This, you know, Tony got kind of a pipe dream. You know what, that's fine. That's okay. My role here as the analyst, as the guy who's bringing you the news report and then my take on it is to deliver to you what I believe would be the best solution. And even if, even if it's not on the floor of Congress tomorrow as, as a bill, which by the way, I believe Lindsey Graham is putting forward a measure along with Katie Britt, Senator Katie Britt, to fully fund the White House and tell the D.C. district court that they need to screw off and go ahead and build the ballroom. Again, personally quite fond of that argument from Lindsey Graham and Katie. Brittany, I'm not sure if we have that clip. Excuse me. I'm not sure if we have that clip necessarily ready to go, but that call was made today, so it is good to see the Senate pushing those kinds of things forward. Oh, we do have it ready to go. All right, here is, here's that clip. We're going to introduce legislation that would authorize $400 million to be spent to secure the, to build the Presidential Ballroom. Underneath there will be a lot of military stuff. There will be a Secret Service annex and we've paid for it by offsetting it with custom fees. But the estimate is 332 million. We're going to do 400 million because I think it's probably going to take. More private donations can be used, but I think they should be used for buying China and stuff like that. Underneath this ballroom will be infrastructure that is national security centric. The ballroom itself will avoid the dilemma of having to leave the White House grounds with future presidents and this presidents to go downtown in a place that's less secure. President Trump said to me this morning. So of course, we already know what the President said regarding the construction of the ballroom. Again, it is. It is a good thing. It is fine for America to have nice buildings. It is fine for those buildings to be big. Yes, we should be building more national monuments. Yes, we should be improving things. The east wing sucked. I've been in there. And also I was in that ballroom in the basement of the Hilton. And you know what? It sucked. It was awful. Didn't like it, didn't care for it. Wasn't that great. Felt like a can of sardines wasn't big enough to do anything and clearly was not secure. The age of playing these silly legalistic kind of all sue you, you sue me games has to come to an end. It does, because eventually someone will get lucky. Eventually, an assassination attempt will get through, not necessarily just on the President, but a member of the administration, a prominent senator. This will happen there. Is there. Tell me. And for those, well, maybe, just maybe, we just American people are gonna wake up one day and they're just gonna go, oh, wow, we need to like, unify. Nope, it's not happening. You tell me who out there is like, you know what? We need to kill these republic. We need to get out there and, you know, they're. They're killing us through health care. And the Nazis are going to ship you off to a concentration camp. Who's the person that gets out there? Oh, our power might go out in a second. Just to let you know, we had a little lights flicker in there. So just in case our power goes out. Thanks for tuning in this evening. I'm just letting you know. Oh, lights be flickering. Just giving you a little, little heads up there. Lights be flickering a lot. I better wrap this up here in a second. Yeah. Or we're gonna lose power here in a second to wrap things up. If you believe that all of a sudden, because Trump says it's time for unity, we're gonna meet, we're gonna talk, and it's gonna be friendship. My Little Pony. Friendship is magic. That's not gonna be a thing. You have Bernie Sanders and Trump go out there hand in hand. I like the President. He's very good man. I think we're gonna work together forever. That's not gonna be a thing. It doesn't matter. Then the left will simply throw Bernie Sanders to the wolves because they are a bunch of young radical Marxists who seek to commit acts of violence to overthrow the country. That is literally what they are advocating for. They are calling for it. They desire it. And they're in the middle of, just like the previous Democrat generation before them, shiving those who brought them up and then replacing them. And that's where we are. And again, to those who are out there doing the, the weird, goofy, staged nonsense here, there and the other. Yeah, very goofy stuff. All right. Again, one of the better things that I do have to say regarding this entire mess in kerfuffle is that there is a growing movement of individuals who are on the right side of the aisle who are doing quite a bit to make sure that rights of Americans are retained. Now, again, this isn't necessarily something that only has to be fought at the federal level. It has to be fought at the state level. It's a very, very important thing. And that does bring us over to our friends at the Alliance Defending Freedom Colorado, State of Colorado. We'll talk about this a little bit more tomorrow night. They're at it again, trying to silence free speech in the United States. Again, only for one party. Shocker. A law in Colorado which forces businesses to use customers preferred pronouns even if they're completely biologically inaccurate and even if using those incorrect pronouns would violate a person's religious beliefs or conscience. That's a clear violation of free speech in the First Amendment. But as Colorado has proved time and time and time and time again, very little concern for the First Amendment whatsoever. The Alliance Defending Freedom is challenging this law on behalf of a Christian bookstore and a Colorado based sports apparel company. But a court recently ruled against them. Now, with the ADF's help, the appealing has been, or excuse me, the rule has been appealed and they'll continue fighting to ensure that Colorado doesn't get away with this next attempt to skirt the First Amendment. So this brings us to the important side of it. If you choose to, your gift helps protect free speech in cases like this all over the country. And for a limited time, your first gift to the Alliance Defending Freedom is doubled by a special matching grant while funds last text Tony to 83848 or go to ADF.com Tony to have your gift doubled. Again, that's text Tony to 83848 or go To ADF.com Excuse me, joinADF.com Tony to have your gift doubled. Very, very thankful that they are sponsoring the show. And I will say I understand that it is a little strange for me to have a show that is just essentially straight rather annoyance and kind of biting sarcasm as opposed to kind of my usual laid back manner. But yeah, being in the room, I, I would say I I probably couldn't sleep the next night. Night and a half, a little bit because of the adrenaline, but mostly just because of the jet lag and transparency we like to do here on the Tony Kinnacast, Something about this. I, I really was unimpressed. I was unimpressed by a lot of things. I don't like seeing of course those that I loved and care about in the room. I not again, not in the least. Keith Koffler, our managing editor, Tim Kennedy, our digital director, Elizabeth Mitchell, our White House correspondent, several other dear friends in the room, friends and colleagues who I disagree with and then yeah, some people in there that I despise that I would never ever want to see hurt or killed. This kind of stuff is, is genuinely only going to get worse until a series of consequences are meted out consistently. Because to rebuild institutional trust will take a long time. And that's why this is a marathon to run. It is. It's a marathon to run and it's going to take us, it's going to take us doing so. So I will take a couple, we'll take a couple of questions here or some comments before we leave just because again it's been a very one sided kind of show tonight from Elaine Taylor said look I agree with you on the news but I don't think that I could watch. I very much don't disagree. I don't think you need to watch. I don't think it should be a spectacle. I've, I've equipped with Jason Hammer who's a host on wibc. He, Hammer and Nigel. I kind of the, the spiritual successors to Bob and Tom. Hammer's always said that this would be the kind of thing that's on like pay per View. He's joking. I, I really don't agree with that. I don't think it should be something that's fun. It's a warning and it doesn't need to be something just by the noose being there in the public square and the, the whipping post as well. You know, again, as I believe corporal punishment again this would be the, this would be Starship Troopers yet again that kind of stuff kind of rolling forward. The book, not the movie but that's kind of the philosophy behind that. All right, just a couple of other mailtime questions here. Again, if you want to throw a mailtime question at us over in our Discord, there's a link to that in the description. That's where you can find some of our excellent community all the livelong day. And then of course we try to get to some of those mailtime questions as quickly as we can. Why doesn't there appear to be any video of the actual takedown of the perp? So, first of all, because the Hilton doesn't actually have security cameras and angles covering absolutely everything. I don't know. Nor do a lot of individuals know at this point how he was taken down. I mean, there's a lot of suspicion that he. He tripped, he was shot at, and then he kind of fell. Something may have caught him off guard. He wasn't hit. I'm not sure. I. There was broken glass that was shattered that we weren't allowed to go up that particular way and that. That exit. So I think that'll come out in the investigation to answer that question. Now, a lot of people, again, are taking this as evidence that, oh, see, that means that it was fake. So there's another question that we got during the show, and I'm sure a ton of times during the live stream. Why won't you accept the idea that this was staged? First of all, for a couple of reasons. There is a crew of people who, no matter what happens, anytime is just going to say that it's staged or fake, because that's edgy. Because that's kind of cool. You're like, oh, wow, you think it's staged? And you can be like, ooh, it's Israel, dude. Trump doesn't like his look. People are always going to be dumb, and they're just. That's where they're going to go to. Always. Always. It's a shame and a waste and a good way of separating wheat from the chaff, by the way. But if they had released his manifesto, he was going to get criticized for it. If they didn't release the manifesto, they'd say, why aren't they releasing the manifesto? What are they hiding? Was it fake? All right, if he was white, then it was going to be staged. If he was black, which it appears this guy was, then it was staged. If he was a Trump voter ages ago, oh, he was hired. Uh, if he was a Kamala Harris votes. He was a voter. He was a plant. Mm, exciting. Uh, if he made a donation, then it was faked. If he didn't make a donation, then, see, oh, all of a sudden, he cares. Doesn't matter. If they were. If, you know, they told police in advance, well, then that's fake. So they could get the manifesto out early. Uh, or if they didn't tell anyone, then it was a total fake and they invented this guy. Out of thin air. If Charlie was shot, oh, well, then he's actually secretly alive on an island. If they don't have an open casket funeral, then, oh, is that. Those people are always going to be here, and there's a really great way to handle them. I learned this in my special education classes in college. You nod slowly, you don't encourage them, and you just say, okay, that's the way to handle. That's the way to handle it. Only that's not really all the way apt here, because children who have mental and learning disabilities have far greater intelligence than those who are going. Actually, Carolyn Levitt was saying that it was some kind of secret. Oh, man. The. The. Oh, all of the other. Don't be dumb. Don't be dumb. There's a lot of stuff to call them. You don't. You don't have to be dumb yourself. Just. Just cool, cool, cool friends and thoughts there at the end. All right, we'll take one final male question here. And then I'm gonna. I'm gonna hop away from High Turbine. Did I have to take a shower afterwards, Tony? Yes, I did, but not because I was. I mean, not because I was, like, disgusted with those around me or anything like that. After we got out of there, I had to walk, like, three miles in crappy shoes. And I mean, when you're just sitting there in a hot, stuffy room full of a bunch of halitosis not eating, you sweat a bunch. And so it's like, ew, gross. And I'd worn an undershirt, so I didn't get wonderful, lovely neck garbage on the inside of my very nice white tuck shirt. And I didn't. I've already had to, like, clean and iron that thing so many times. I hate it. And so I was already sweating up a storm. So I got back to the hotel and ordered fast food. Boy, I sure loved flying to D.C. to eat two overly expensive fast food orders for a day. That sucked. And so while I was waiting on that to get there, yes, I did take a shower and just kind of sat there and I think the words that I said in the shower after I. I had already thanked God several times on the way out of there into the hotel and made sure I checked in with family. And very huge thanks to producer Daniel and producer Jen for updating those over on the discord and things like that. I think my actual words when I got into the shower were just. And then. I don't think I said anything for the rest of the night. And then I woke up with a stomachache because eating Shake Shack late at night is probably not great for your health. So. From, let's see, one, one other question from David macern. And the wind is really picking up. I'm probably going to need to get out of the studio, probably for my own safety. I've not heard the wind this bad out here. The weather station says 46 mile an hour gusts. Yeah, that's not fun. I'm sure you can probably hear some of the wind in the background. Are those that engage in stochastic amplification terrorists. Those that say, I understand violence, unless you're explicitly calling for it, I don't think you can be hit with a terrorism charge. But there's also the, come on, we all know what game you're playing where there probably should be a greater outrage and fewer favors passed out for it to be transparent with you. I'm still kind of thinking through that myself. So at what point when someone is saying, you know, it's good the president needed to experience that, do you suggest they're actually advocating for that kind of violence? Let me read on that one and probably talk to a few friends legally about like some of the, the speech laws there and get back to you because that's what we do. I don't try to tell you things I don't know. I'm still kind of rationalizing that one out because just because I don't like what someone says doesn't mean that we just need to get rid of the First Amendment. No, not at all. No. You know, and obviously it would be bad if, you know, the next administration gets in and they're on the left and they're like, gee, I really don't like what this Tony guy is saying. I think he's actually saying, yeah, that's not good either. You do have to protect free speech. But also I think we do need to make a more clear standard for what calling for and encouraging and celebrating violence looks like. And that needs to be made a little more explicit on that side of things. What was the word? Amplification. What's that first word? Stochastic. So, so that's, that's a kind of my shortening stochastic terrorism is that term coined by the left where if you say, I don't like, pick a random person on the, oh, I'm not going to play that game. I don't like John Smith. I think John Smith is evil. I think John Smith is very bad and they probably are really terrible. The left said, that's stochastic terrorism. They said that's, that's, that's saying really mean thing, really bad thing, something bad's going to happen to them. And then they went out and started encouraging all of the stuff that again inflamed the rhetoric. And is it responsible for the murders of individuals? No, but they, they did all but beg individuals to commit the murder. So that kind of stochastic means engaging in, engaging in open proclamation and demand. So stochastic terrorism, meaning you, your, your discourse is inflaming individuals to act. Again, it's completely made up garbage. But when I say stochastic inflammation of the rhetoric, you are calling for things that increases the political temperature. And so that's my, that's my particular take on that one. So that all said, it's 8:39pm Hope you guys have a wonderful evening. We'll be back tomorrow with more of the news coverage. Again, sorry we didn't get anything else tonight. I wanted to unpack this one and not do a half baked job. And I'm not exactly pleased with the whole way that we broke this down, but hey, tis the nature of being human and being absolutely fallible. Have a wonderful evening. Take care. Hope you guys are safe. If there are storms in your area, we'll see you tomorrow, 7pm Eastern here on the Tony Kennett Cast, nationally syndicated and first on 93 WIBC. Y' all take care.
