Let's have a show. You're listening to the Tony Kennett cast on 93 WYPC here on the Daily Signal. Good evening and welcome to the Tony Kenneth cast here on the Daily Signal, nationally syndicated, first on 93 WIBC. Let's get right to the news because there are a couple of details that are emerging. Two of the suspects, or the two suspects, I should say, in the Islamic center of San Diego shooting have been killed. We understand that at this time there is at least one other dead. There was also a children's center, a learning center, a school at this particular location on Ekstrom Avenue in San Diego as well. All of the children have been accounted for. All of the children are safe. There was a horrible scene to begin with as the initial coverage started. I'm not sure that we can show this to you at least immediately because the initial helicopter footage showed a man on the ground sprawled out and in a pool of blood. And so the helicopter actually had to try to pan away before it zoomed out from one of California's affiliates, I believe their ABC7 affiliate. So as far as the situation began to unfold, there was a lot of speculation. So for example, a former New York Police Department investigator over on Fox News Morrow suggested that it could be related to that the Islamic center was of
Counterterrorism Expert
the Sunni denomination, could have a similar situation right here. I'm trying to get some information about it. According to what I see here, it is a Sunni mosque location. Why do I bring that up? Because Iran is a Shia nation and some of the stuff that we've seen lately relative to Iran, like for instance, Hezbollah linked attacks that were planned to go off here in America, that has a Shia footprint. And if you do counter, I did 15, 16 years count terrorism, you think in those terms, what, what do I have here? Where should I be looking? What connections should I be looking for? Who's identified? So some of the atmospherics here. But of course the most important thing right now, control the situation and make sure nobody gets hurt.
Tony Kennett (Host/Commentator)
So when it comes to kind of a mid situation, a developing situation analysis, you have to be extremely careful. It's, it's a horrifying thing to be whenever something like this is going on and then you have been invited onto the media set to give information and perspective in a breaking situation. This was done appropriately even though it does not in this instance appear to be the case based on the suspects, which is why he clarified it and qualified it at the end to say, hey, this may not be true. This is just what comes to mind. As someone formerly working in counterterrorism, these are the things. Obviously, we're making sure that we're following the situation. And as to the cops responding to the scene, there is one security guard who martyred and may I say, putting himself in the face of the two teenagers who, who shot up the place. A man called by the name Brother Amin Abdullah was the security guard who was martyred at the Islamic center of San Diego. He gave his life to protect the lives of countless students and congregants. Nothing at all but respect for the security guard who threw himself into the line of fire. It is. It is notable to say that on May 5, the very last Facebook post that he put out, he said, quote, what is success to many people? Success is financial stability, good reputation, beauty, etc. As for me, walahi thuma walihi, it is returning back to Allah, our Creator, with the same pure soul he loaned me at birth, having the mala icha of Alatua, saying, don't fear me and don't grieve, or, excuse me, quote, don't fear and don't grieve, but receive the glad tidings of Jannah which you were promised by the most forgiving and most merciful. This is a man clearly who had found restoration in service and gave himself to protect the children and the teachers and the religious leaders at that school. I mean, it goes without saying that it is truly a shame that the two teenagers already have been killed who participated in this attack because they are not around to be hanged for committing some kind of a shooting, especially in the proximity of children in this country. So that brings us over to the two statements that we have for you. So first is the press statement from the San Diego police. That's clip four. There is no further threat. Both suspects in this case are deceased. All of the kids are safe. Our hearts go out to the families that are in this moment being notified of what has happened to their loved ones. We have three confirmed adults that are deceased at the Islamic Center. So regarding this, again, we're keeping an eye on it. There's one other key statement to share really quickly here before we bring you the latest update on the matter. We believe we have some information on the motive of the shooters. So first of all, from the Islamic center of San Diego, Director Tahaa Hassane. By the way, it is known on the show I am horrible when it comes to a lot of name pronunciation. I deeply apologize that it's something that, you know, you can only do so much. But anyway, here's his statement on the shooting today. Good afternoon. My name is Tahaa Hasan. I'm the imam and director of the Islamic center of San Diego.
Tony Kennett
I know it's time of sorrow, time of sadness. We have never experienced a tragedy like this before. And at this moment, all what I
Tony Kennett (Host/Commentator)
can say is sending our prayers and standing in solidarity with all the families in our community here. So I do want to make a couple of things really quickly right up front, broad point. So first of all, there are a lot of individuals that are asking, you know, why haven't the names of the individuals been released yet? It is not normal in any kind of an investigation of a mass casualty incident, whether it be due to a weather situation, an industrial accident, a horrible automotive accident, or whether we're talking about a shooting like this to release the names of the victims or the suspects immediately. That is not, that is not something that is a part of any police investigation anywhere in the country. That is something that has become popularized kind of on the online culture over the last five or six years to say, well, I haven't heard any names yet. There is no police protocol either at the local level, the city and the county, all the way up to the state law enforcement level, to the federal level, where it's release the names of the victims and release the name of the suspect immediately. That is not how things immediately proceed at any level that I'm aware of. And I'm happy to retract that if there's a different case. But in this instance, this follows other law enforcement protocol. So there is one final piece here. This is, according to Chelsea Rose Marcias over at the New York Times, the only other one that we had. And I actually asked producer Jen to verify that this was a New York Times update because this was what I'm talking about. This is very, very quick. This is right up front, very unusual to see something happen this early. She said. Investigators recovered anti Islamic writing in the car, according to two law enforcement officials briefed on the matter who were not authorized to share details publicly. So I'm going to need to see what those are, obviously, but says before the shooting, one of the two suspects took a firearm from his parents house and, and left a suicide note. Officials said the words, quote, hate speech were written on one of the firearms used in the attack. So here's the part where I'm going to be as clear and as direct with you as possible. I don't have enough information yet to say anything about what was or wasn't recovered until I actually see what was on the materials, until that was released, until that evidence is brought before each and every one, I'm from my position not going to be particularly satisfied to give you my analysis on it. That's my standard, that's my take. You can make your own decisions in your own calls. I've seen a lot of comments so far that are swirling around. I will say one thing and one thing only. I will note that it is interesting in many cases of mass casualty incidents over the last several months and years that when there is a victim who happens to be black and when there is a victim that happens to be of the religion of Islam, immediately the motives are known, and I mean immediately. Members of Congress all the way up to Hakeem Jeffries immediately rushed out to call this Islamophobic right away. And the reason I point that out is not because this, this was not an attack against Islam. That's not the case at all. What I am saying though is that when there is an attack on a synagogue or when there is an attack on a church, there is a motive unknown or we, oh, we couldn't possibly, oh, we have no idea what the motive could be for hours and days and weeks. And it is truly disgusting. And I will say that because we are a show of receipts and keeping the notes that I have looked at prior statements from for example, Hakeem Jeffries where days and weeks into violent incidents where it was very clear there was an assassination, whether we're talking about Brian Thompson, the CEO of former CEO of United. We're going to talk about that in a second with Luigi Mangione or whether we're looking at the assassination of Charlie Kirk or the slaughter of the, of the Mormons of the Latter Day Saints Temple in Michigan, whether we're talking about the synagogue in Michigan, those incidents, motive unknown, was carried for a very long time. And here immediately as soon as said, yes, there was an attack, it was on an Islamic learning center, there were children there, clearly and obviously a hate crime. Now again, whether it is a Shia against Sunni hate crime or whether the New York Times is right here and it is someone else attacking an Islamic center, the details still remain. But it is, it's not far fetched at this point because I don't have to wait until someone says, well, we don't know the motives yet. In any situation where there's a mass casualty event that Takes place at a church or at a Christian or a Jewish school or an Islamic school in this case, which by the way, I also saw a couple of reports that there were this had a secondary Hebrew program and that a couple of Jewish members of the community sent their children to this particular area. I'm just going to need to see more. That's my standard. We've had the same standard since then. Radio crew will send you guys to the commercial. We're going to continue over on the live stream because there are updates in the Luigi Mangioni case. It's the Tony Kinit cast here on the Daily Signal. All right, well, the radio crew is over in commercial. Today a New York judge ruled that police had improperly searched Luigi and Luigi Mangione's backpack without a warrant at a Pennsylvania McDonald's after his December 2024 arrest and and therefore has barred various items like a gun, magazine, cell phone, passport, wallet and a computer chip from his murder trial. Now, I don't know whether this computer chip is like an SD card, whether it's like he was carrying around a processor or. I have no idea what that means. But anywho it says. However, a later inventory search at the station uncovered and a 3D printed pistol matching the weapon used to kill UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson. Plus a silencer, or in this case, more of a compensator, a USB drive and a notebook criticizing the health insurance industry. All admissible. Some of the evidence from this particular notebook cites his own medical history with a completely different insurance company. So that that information here he faces trial beginning on September 8. He has not pleaded guilty to second degree murder. It is, it is. It is really strange to say that, well, the police didn't have his the rights to search a warrant. If you're under suspicion for again a situation in which you are considered to be the prime suspect in a shooting and the cops come up to search your person. Yeah, I think that your backpack should probably have a little something to do with that. I think that searching your backpack makes a lot of sense. Didn't have a warrant. What are you talking about? Who knows if he booby trapped it? Who knows if he left something in there that is in the process of destroying it. If he threw something into some kind of a container that was getting rid of fingerprints. We have no way of knowing if you make it some magical 48, 72 hour warrant. O Rama process. And so again, ridiculous how far or how hard there are individuals trying to trying to keep Luigi Mangioni out of prison after again, a very open and clear assassination. Just because the United Healthcare CEO is a capitalist, I suppose and disgusting situation by the way. Not just in that line, but also when it comes to a member of Zoran Mamdani's press office, Ashley Rojas, wearing her City Press badge, just out in front of the media saying, well, I mean, you know, I stand by what he said. You know, I'm glad he's effing dead were her words. And then the, the lady next to her said, oh, it's better for his own children that their father is dead.
Elizabeth Mitchell (White House Correspondent)
I said, what?
Tony Kennett (Host/Commentator)
I said, I don't give a.
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC)
His children are better off without him.
Elizabeth Mitchell (White House Correspondent)
They need to learn to not be
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC)
like their dad and enjoy the blood money.
Tony Kennett (Host/Commentator)
Kids, my good sweet lord. I mean the filth on display, it doesn't exactly hide.
Elizabeth Mitchell (White House Correspondent)
Was that. What was that? I didn't get that, what you said. I'm standing on business, Brian Thompson. I don't give a flying fucking ride. Millions of Americans, I liked it.
Tony Kennett (Host/Commentator)
Millions of Americans suffer every single day
Elizabeth Mitchell (White House Correspondent)
when it comes to medical care.
Tony Kennett (Host/Commentator)
We had a literal infanticella who because
Elizabeth Mitchell (White House Correspondent)
of how negligent her health insurance was, she died.
Tony Kennett (Host/Commentator)
An infant died. Okay, so, so here we an entire process that is built around suggesting that there are some people who, because of their actions, others need to die. So again, as a reminder regarding Luigi Mangione, Brian Thompson was not even the CEO of his own insurance company. He wasn't. Had nothing to do at all with Luigi's care. But the idea that you're going to say, well, this one guy over here deserves to die for all of the others. That is how you get a series of shootings in this country where you suggest that at some point, at some time, going around and committing murder in various places, as long as it fits a certain particular point of view, is truly the point of chaos that once you begin, it's very difficult to pull back from. It is a truly, truly evil. It's a truly evil idea right at the forefront, right up at the top to suggest that Brian Thompson, his children would be better off because they saw some creep crazed Marxist shoot him in New York. And then the crazy lady next to her saying that she hopes his children enjoy the blood money. I mean truly, truly disgusting stuff. But again, this is the race. The idea that anything that is possibly related to the United States is bad and that anything that is possibly related to tearing that down is good has become, has become the primary motivator, the primary driver for some of the most egregious acts in our society today, period. So right now, the information that we have again, both of the shooters in the San Diego shooting, both teenagers dead, they killed three adults total at the Islamic center of San Diego before dying from according to this, excuse me, according to Reuters, self inflicted gunshot wounds. They were age 17 and 19. So they also injured multiple people. Again, all of the children are accounted for, all of the children are safe. And the FBI is assisting local law enforcement at the present time. Sorry, radio crew, I'm realizing I didn't invite you back into the show. We're going to pivot over to some of the international side of news here. There's a lot to cover and I mean plenty and plenty. So the President of the United States this morning announced that it appeared that Iran was about to find out. So the statement from the President of the United States, he said if Iran surrenders, admits their navy is gone and resting at the bottom of the sea and their air force is no longer with us, and if their entire military walks out of Tehran, weapons dropped and hands held high, each shouting I surrender, I surrender. While waving the French, excuse me, the representative white flag. And if their entire remaining leadership signs all necessary documents of surrender. It sounds like this is actually kind of going somewhere in particular here. And admit their defeat is to the great power in the force of the magnificence usa. Then the implied, then there comma, the failing New York Times, the China Street Journal, Wall Street Journal, corrupt and now relevant CNN and other members of the fake news media will headline that Iran has had a masterful and brilliant victory over the United States of America. Okay, so a rather interesting thing to sign off on this morning. And it is followed up this afternoon by a statement by the President that is a bit on the different side. So it appeared that the United States was getting ready to do a little something. And then posted this afternoon, he said, I've been asked by the Emir of Qatar, the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia and the President of the United Arab Emirates to hold off on our planned military attack of the Islamic Republic of Iran, which was scheduled for tomorrow and that serious negotiations are now taking place and that in their opinion, as great leaders and allies, a deal will be made which will be very acceptable to the USA as well as all countries in the Middle east and beyond. The deal will include importantly in all caps, no nuclear weapons for Iran. Based on my respect for the above mentioned leaders, I have instructed Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Dan Kaine, and the United States military that they will not be doing the scheduled attack on Iran tomorrow, but have further instructed them to be prepared to go forward with a full large scale assault of Iran on a moment's notice in the event that a deal is not reached. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Now there are a couple of things to dig into in that alone regarding Gulf State kind of cooperation and questions and concerns. The president was asked about this, though, just this afternoon or I should say early this evening at his Trump RX press conference. Check it out. Speak a little bit about your post on True Social on Iran and what was the decision that why you didn't attack?
Donald Trump
Well, other countries have come to me and they've said we were getting ready to do a very major attack tomorrow. I've put it off for a little while, hopefully maybe forever, but possibly for a little while because we've had very big discussions with Iran and we'll see what they amount to. I was asked by Saudi Arabia, Qatar, UAE and some others if we could put it off for two or three days, a short period of time because they think that they are getting very close to making a deal. And if we can do that where there's no nuclear weapon going into the hands of Iran, I think and if they're satisfied, we will be probably satisfied. Also, we've informed Israel, we've informed other people in the Middle east that have been involved with us. And you know, it's a very positive development, but we'll see whether or not it amounts to anything. We've had periods of time where we had we thought pretty much getting close to making a deal and didn't work out. But this is a little bit different now. We're ready going tomorrow, very big and not something I wanted to do. But we have no choice because we cannot let Iran have a nuclear weapon. Yeah.
Tony Kennett (Host/Commentator)
So that seems to be how the president is framing this. Now there are a couple of important takeaways here on kind of the general situation on the ground. So first of all, Pakistan has just deployed, per the New York Post, 8,000 troops and a jet squadron to Saudi Arabia as the Iran war tensions escalate. So this brings us to the speculation station now if Pakistan is sending troops to Saudi Arabia, the only thing that I can kind of garner that Trump appears to be trying to either broker in this case or use as kind of a contingency is some type of a coalition threat that George H.W. bush used in a similar fashion during the first Gulf War. The threat towards at the time Saddam Hussein of Iraq. So the idea that like all the countries surrounding you are ready to go in and do things. It's not clear though if that's a contingency or what the President is looking for. And again, when the President puts out on Truth Social, this picture of all of the surrounding countries to Iran, arrows going into Iran itself and then like a big America flag over it, it's very reasonable to assess this is what the President of the United States expects as a viable option going into the next couple of weeks. And this wouldn't be surprising as well because Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates have carried out a series of strikes on Iranian targets. Again, whether they be coastal targets regarding the oil infrastructure, kind of tit for tat, or whether they be providing intelligence to the United States, Israel and other powers in the region, both state powers and contractual organizations, or whether they be the case of the United Arab Emirates using its Mirage jets to hit a couple of key points on, along that coastline of the Strait of Hormuz. It's not clear at this point if there's really any deal that can be reached. And it's not just because the Iranians are just rejecting anything on the table. There is still a point where the entire Iranian leadership is struggling to issue the same series of statements. So President Pizekian, President Pez Dispenser issued a kind of confusing statement in which he said that the United States had three or four points that were good but needed to rework the last few. And then you had a member of the IRGC directly into the Iranian Parliament that said something completely different, just like they're turning it out on its face. So there's still a lot of disparate themes going on in the Iranian government. And this is going to come in a couple of ways. So first of all, the speculation from other individuals in the Gulf States, kind of prominent individuals posting, if you want to call it rumor mongering online, suggests that the military plans were leaked and it included a ground raid on Isfahan and elite US forces were to seize nuclear site and secure highly enriched uranium. There were going to be massive devastating airstrikes on Revolutionary Guard bases and missile sites and a naval and economic blockade that included taking control of Kharg island and reopening the Strait of Hormuz by force. They just listed these individuals. I'm not going to name them, but prominent members of the uae, may we say that, are saying these things. I mean, you're just saying these are just the options that are on the table in general Period. Now Isfahan, the nuclear site in western Iran did activate its anti air defenses over in the last couple of hours, but there's really nothing to suggest that there's, there's anything of substance to a plan by the United States. In fact kind of from some of the intelligence sources on the inside and we're going to get to intelligence sources on the inside regarding Cuba here in just a couple of minutes. There's nothing clear so far that suggests that the United States in this instance was even planning any kind of major operation for about the next week. So it's very unclear what's going on here. And again I'm going to be upfront with that instead of crafting magical theories for you, telling you what's on the ground, what we see and the information surrounding it. Again, maybe it doesn't make for as exciting of a show but when exciting things are going on, you may be more likely to tune in. That's at least how we see it. Radio crew, we're going to send you over to the commercial and then it's time to talk a little Cuba. It's the Tony Knittcast here on the Daily Signal now over the weekend. Here we go. So the El Presidente Miguel Diaz Canal, the, the puppet for the Castro family, he had to come out and run a little interference because there was a very strange article that was posted by axios on the 17th being yesterday saying quote, exclusive Cuba has acquired more than 300 military drones and recently began discussing plans to use them to attack U.S. assets. According to classified intelligence shared with Axios, the intelligence could become a pretext for US military action. Well first of all, that's not how classified intelligence works out. So first that's not how that works. Classified intelligence just means sources inside other countries and even inside particular organizations around the world that simply relay back bits of information. And if you know anything about people, they're very different even inside the same organization. I give you the Republican Party, I give you various places that you work, you're very different than others that are at your company. And so it's a rather strange thing but the argument and there are all these graphics that were released that showed oh, Cuba could throw huge super duper swarms of drones against all of these American targets. And it was, oh, they were going to, they were going to destroy Guantanamo Bay and they were going to wipe Mar? A Lago off the map and they were going to get rid of at least seven Buc ee's locations. No, no, no. Even in Cuba's Wildest stupidest dreams. Absolutely not. And here's why. First of all, there are things that are operating inside the Gulf of America and on the American coastline that you have not even remotely come close to seeing. Now, I'm not going to say a whole lot more because I'm going to try not to get myself in trouble. But if you think that the United States has not been prepared for drone style attacks, at least from major shipping ports since 2020, 2021. All right, so that aside, Cuban President Miguel Diaz Canel got a little freaked out. Why? Because Miguel, Miguel Diaz Canal follows a lot of United States congressmen who are immigrants from Cuba. Because that's, it's kind of a bellwether on what a lot of Cuban Americans are thinking. And so as soon as a lot of Cuban representatives in the United States Congress or those that are associated with them basically said things like, hey, what if we put the Cuban President Diaz Canal's head on a spike? Which, you know, I can see why there might be Cuban refugees and immigrants that did feel that particular way. Absolutely. I mean, absolutely not a particularly wonderful regime in that way. But he said that the US Mini military action from the United States against Cuba would lead to a bloodbath with incalculable consequences for regional peace and stability. So, first of all, I've heard this before. You've heard this before. Oh, we are so strong. The Cuban government. Oh, we're so strong. It's incredible. It's amazing. No, so then he also came out and stated, quote, cuba does not represent a threat. You can't have it both ways. So it's, it's really funny. I mean, there's, there's not a whole lot here that I'm seeing that suggest major, incredible action. And there, there's like a, a drop, like a drop site news as a counterpoint. Left, left wing show that, that's constantly trying to suggest everything is bad and you're all going to die by the time you finish watching the episode. And they've suggested that Trump needs to conquer Cuba to save himself from Ira Iran embarrassment. Honey, sweetie, baby, no, no, no, no. Guys, it's, it's, it's May. All right, relax. Now, moving past that there, there's one final thing on the classified information I wanted to share with you. So the New York Times, speaking of, has filed a second lawsuit against the Department of War arguing that an interim press policy mandating that if you're inside the Pentagon, then you need to be escorted at all times. You can't just wander around the Pentagon and take pictures and write articles because you know the Pentagon, there's kind of like secret stuff there. And so the New York Times is suing them saying it's unconstitutional. No, no, no, no, no it's not. That's one of the most ridiculous things anyone has ever heard ever. We're gonna bring the radio crew back from commercial and then we're gonna get into some very wild California New York stuff. It's the Tony Kennett cast. Don't go anywhere. It's the Tony Kennett cast on 93 WYBC. Feels like I'm welcome back to the Tony Kenneth cast here on the Daily Signal, nationally syndicated, first on 93 WIBC. I did forget one major threat from the Iranians that I should have mentioned. I again, I apologize, but it's important that I tell you now. The IRGC has issued a brand new threat in which they announce that they are considering putting permit requirements on all Internet cables passing through the Strait of Hormuz. Um, nope. Okay. All right, great. I just thought, I thought you wouldn't find that particularly exciting. They apparently did these new AI maps that are being generated and shoved all over social media. I do actually do have that one here for you. So you can be amazed and impressed and just wowed. Look at it. See, look at all the little fiber optics y super cables. See, they're gonna, they're gonna, they're gonna tax them. It's gonna be amazing. Yeah, no, okay. All right, so good. Now that we're done with that, this brings us over to some pretty wild stuff from California. So after claiming that Republicans are incredibly corrupt and they're ruining elections and they're destroying the will of the people. California, which has a jungle primary system, a jungle primary system simply says, hey, if you have five Democrats running and you have two Republicans running for the election and everyone goes to vote in the primary, we're gonna put em all in the same bucket. And then the top two vote getters because no one would vote Republican, so it's probably gonna be two Democrats. That's what the California assembly people said when they were getting the bill forward. They said, look, if only 3,000 people come out to vote for the Republican, then they should not get to be on the prime on the main ballot in November. When you have two Democrat candidates who have a hundred thousand and fifty thousand votes, only one of those two gets to be on there. And so then they stamped it into law and they're like, that's what we're going to do. And then it turned out that a lot of the California candidates that are running for governor are awful. And there are also a conflibity jillion of them. And so couple those together, you have Steve Hilton and then Sheriff Chad Bianco who are running for governor on the Republican side. And there's a non zero chance, we reported on it at least for a month here on the Tony Kenned cast, that you could end up seeing the Republicans get first and second place in that election, which would mean that in the general November, it just functions as a runoff election. You would have two Republicans to choose from as governor for the state of California. Now, all of these Democrats, from Gavin Newsom to Kamala Harris to Barack Obama to Abigail Spanberger to Zoran Mandani to Justin Pearson in Tennessee to aoc, they've all been claiming that the will of the voters, the will of the voters is supreme. And you can't, you can't just like be messing with elections. Well, you know, Gavin Newsom says, well, if we have two Republican candidates, well, there are contingencies. We have plans to change the rules. If that's the case, we all have agencies. We can shape the future. There's still a lot. Look, I've said this before, so I'll repeat it. I don't anticipate this need to be the case.
Donald Trump
But there is a blank break the glass scenario.
Tony Kennett (Host/Commentator)
And you endorsed the open primary system. You, you, Gavin, you were so confident, so cocksure that all you had to do was just have a system where the top two candidates of all of them got their people through. And you'd probably have, you know, a corporatist Democrat and then a bennysanders kind of socialist Democrat and that they would run together because they would get way more votes than the Republican who has his thumb up his behind. And then you would elect a wonderful winner and everyone would be happy. So you'd only have to put those two Democrats on the ballot. It turns out again, Democrats really freaking suck at running California. And so now when it turns out the will of the people may put the sheriff and Steve Hilton up at the top of the ballot for a runoff in November. So the Republic. So again, because if it's a runoff situation, which by the way, I hate jungle primaries, I hate them, I despise them. I don't think that they should be the way things are done. I also hate ranked voting because I think that disenfranchises more people than it benefits. But let's play it out. Let's game it out here. You, me and Dupree So in this instance, if you have a jungle primary system and the Republicans and independents in California, because anyone can vote in the California primary for anybody. So if a lot of people pick Steve Hilton and then a second number of people who don't necessarily have an R next to their name, then pick Chad Bianco, well, then don't those people then get to decide. The two biggest groups of people in California get to decide whether they want person number one or number two in November. But he immediately, again, for all of the rhetoric from this man that Trump was going to use the National Guard to end the midterms and end the election, from this man, this man specifically said Trump's rhetoric was dangerous. He has announced that if the very rules set by California's Democrat assembly, its own Democrat super majority state government, if California can't keep the Republicans from. From being spot number one and two on the ballot again, because they ran 14 different people, five of whom are just a euphemism for gonorrhea. I mean, like, the California candidates for governor are awful. Katie Porter, who is downright abusive. Xavier Becerra, who just pretends that Gavin Newsom was wonderful and you need to double down on him. You have Tom Steyer, who says, I'm a billionaire, but I want to get your money, not my money. And then. And then the other random guys that are. That are some kind of an awkward mix between Pete Buttigieg, James Talarico, and Jacob Frey with about enough testosterone maybe to give one teenage boy one chest hair. That's your candidates. And they can't figure out, they don't want to drop out because, again, they all have an ego that is. That is so enormous that in an age of Donald Trump. I'm having a trouble coming up with an analogy. We got to break it all, though. If Republicans get ahead before it's all repeated, I don't anticipate this need to be the case. But there is a break the glass scenario, and there's many people that have a deep understanding of what it would look like if Democrats were locked out.
Donald Trump
And we're gonna.
Tony Kennett (Host/Commentator)
They're not locked out, though. They're not. And I've said this for eight. I said this. Actually. This is a funny story. So in. In my own congressional district here in the state of Indiana. All right, we. Greg Pence retired, or he was gonna retire. And then I accidentally broke that news because. Whoops. And so then every single Republican and their cousin got into the sixth congressional primary here in Indiana, and there was a guy who ended up winning, named Jefferson Tree, who was running also for this district. He just lost a mayoral election in Indianapolis. And then literally everybody joined in and it was like a Smash Brothers commercial. Everyone was, like, running for election. And I said at the time, if you run, like, five of these people, all of the exact same proposals, they're all the same people. And I talked to them. I went down to this Shelbyville event and I almost shook one of them by his Patagonia vest. And I said, dude, if you don't drop out, you're gonna split the vote. And the guy that I don't wanna win is gonna win. And guess what happened exactly that. Democrats and Republicans, guys, it is, believe it or not, if you are dumb enough to run 556 people for a primary and split the vote King Solomon style, I don't know what to tell. I don't know if there's any help for you, but rigging the election and. And like shoving additional people on the ballot is not necessarily the way that I would do it, but voter fraud, again, that's just the California way of. The California woman who was federally charged with paying individuals, including the homeless, on Los Angeles skid row, to register to vote, has now pled guilty and is going to be sentenced to prison for. Given that it's California, a good 15 minutes. Again, this is something that I was told and that you were told never happened. Also, speaking of Gavin Newsom's wonderful success in California, the Cars for Kids nonprofit, which violated the state's false advertising and unfair competition laws, is now required to stop broadcasting anywhere, especially its catchy jingle, according to NBC News, because, yeah, you can't. All of these flagrantly fraudulent nonprofits that just so happened to be headquartered in California and Minnesota and New York. Hmm. Gee, I. Oh, there's a big surprise. I mean, it's just. It's just quite. It's quite shocking. Now, that brings us over to some New York City news. So, first of all, a little bit of excitement here. Good stuff. The National Fraud Enforcement Division of the Department of Justice announced today a New York man was sentenced to prison for conspiring to launder nearly $1.5 million in, you guessed it, illicit health care fraud proceeds. Hey. Through multiple domestic and global banks on behalf of a transnational criminal organization. I bet you can't guess his first and last name. According to court documents. Elnar Zabelov. You know, Elnar Zabelov, I bring you good deal and lots of health care fraud. It's fantastic. He was a fixer and money launderer for a foreign based organization that spearheaded the largest healthcare fraud case ever prosecuted by the DOJ under uncovered by Operation Gold Rush. Gee, for something that never happens and is so super duper rare, it sure seems to be happening quite a bit. Again, I kick you back to Friday's episode where the little main reporter asked Vice President J.D. vance, why spend so much time on this? It's so rare it like never happens. And then as soon as any law enforcement or Nick Shirley with a camcorder shows up, it's like, wow. I mean it, it's out of every nook and cranny. Amazing. The wire fraud money is just like working overtime. Um, and for that matter, I am, I am arguing that all Western Union transactions need to be placed under federal oversight until further notice. That's just for, that's just for fun. That's just for me. Radio crew will send you guys over to the commercial break. Try not to commit healthcare fraud while you're gone. We're going to continue on the live stream where I'm going to teach them all how to commit health care. I mean, go into more news. It's the Tony Kenneth cast. Okay, a little more on Mandani's administration. So this also came out over the weekend and I'm excited because Gavin Newsom, he says we're going to rig the elections if we don't like it. So he's rushing to make California Cuba, which is. That's a move. All right. And then you've got New York and you've got Zoran Mamdani who also wants to make New York Cuba. So latest announcement. You know those city run grocery stores that have never ever worked once in all of human history? State run grocery stores, they've never worked well. Hey, Zoran Mamdani is excited to announce that the very first like double the cost of a Publix grocery store that he's also. Because it's a state store, he's allowing it to pay zero taxes and follow zero regulations. Wow. Amazing how that's always the thing that is going to make a state grocery store succeed. Anyway, the first location is being opened. Amazing. The Poca center from hell. Here you go.
Tony Kennett
With only one full service supermarket within a quarter mile, thousands of New Yorkers
Tony Kennett (Host/Commentator)
have again, never the question of why is there only one supermarket open in a quarter mile? Why not? Hey, go talk to the supermarket guy. How come you haven't franchised my dude? How come this bodega, there's not more daga, you know, like no one's ever asking that question, which is I gave you half my paycheck. My half my paycheck. You freaking skis. No, no, no. The answer is we take the same money from the private entities and then state run grocery store, only limited options.
Tony Kennett
We are here together today to change that and to chart a new course. Last month we announced that we would fulfill a campaign promise that we would lower prices by creating a network of city owned grocery stores, one in each borough. In these stores, prices will be cheaper, workers will be paid fairly and treated with dignity. Going to the grocery store will no longer cause that same anxiety for so many New Yorkers.
Tony Kennett (Host/Commentator)
Why? Why would it cause them not as much anxiety? They tried these particular programs, for example, in St. Louis. They had like a system in St. Louis where the state where again the city government in St. Louis would provide a certain amount of money to give kind of the expired goods from the grocery store. And you showed up with a bag and they put. And it closed within two months because it didn't work.
Tony Kennett
Now on April 13, we announced the first site, La Marqueta in El Barrio. And in doing so, honoring the legacy of Fiorell LaGuardia who opened a site close to 100 years prior with the same mission of delivering cheaper goods to New Yorkers.
Tony Kennett (Host/Commentator)
But was it a city run grocery store?
Tony Kennett
Today, my friends, I am so proud to announce that the Bronx location will be here at the Peninsula.
Tony Kennett (Host/Commentator)
Yay. Oh, it's going to be so great and amazing. Why I'm so excited now. Now, Janine, or excuse me, Jean Smith from the comments, she asked a great question. I don't understand how city run stores can be cheaper. So there is a way in theory that they can be run cheaper. So Mamdani's already addressed this. He said that they're not going to make that grocery store follow some of the same regulations everyone else has to follow. Meaning like they don't have to pay extra money for this and go to certain places for this. They also don't have to pay taxes. So it's amazing when you, when you don't force the store to pay as much in nonsense that doesn't even benefit them, then they can pass those savings on to the consumer so they can be cheaper than those around them. I mean, wow, incredible. Just, I mean the gee whillaker est of situations here. Well, this isn't all, but we do have to bring that radio crew back in from commercial. It's the Tony Kenneth cast. Don't go anywhere. Lots more to talk about tonight.
Donald Trump
Foreign.
Tony Kennett (Host/Commentator)
93wypc. So while Mamdani is opening up his, like, special, exciting, super duper state run grocery store supreme, he also decided that even though, again, no state run grocery store has ever succeeded, and they don't succeed for a number of reasons. Instead of just saying, if you're Aldi, you don't have to pay taxes or follow regulations of the city, we want more. Like, again, Aldi's got a pretty great produce section. They do. I know because when I went inside this evening, my wife shoved a bunch of way too sweet blueberries into my face. And they were remarkably good. Aldi's got some good produce, okay? And so, I mean, you throw a couple of Aldi, say, look, you're Aldi's. You want to open a New York City, you can go right here. And the city is not going to make you pay any taxes at all. Because we recognize it as a fundamental good to the city because you're gonna provide cheap groceries at outside city prices. Inside New York, there's abandoned places you can build. Here you go, Aldi. There you go. You would be roasted alive by the Democrat socialists of New York. But if the state opens up a really garbage version that has again, never worked at all in history, that's the maneuver. And he recognizes that there's a lot of the country and the Americans who believe that this is really stupid. So he decides to get out his old warmth of collectivism argument. Remember earlier on in his campaign, or, excuse me, earlier on his inauguration speech, he said, we're going to replace the rugged frigidity of individualism with the warmth of collectivism. And then 17 to 20 homeless people died of exposure because of his policies. But anyway, he's going to. He's going to go after Reagan again. Like the ghost of Ronald Reagan is haunting Zoran Mandani. And it's really funny.
Tony Kennett
And standing here this morning, I cannot help but think of the words of our 40th president, Ronald Reagan. He famously said the nine most terrifying words in the English language are, I'm from the government and I'm here to help. It's a good quote, but I disagree. I think nine more terrifying words are actually, I worked all day and can't feed my family.
Tony Kennett (Host/Commentator)
You know, so what we did is we taxed your employer just all the way to the eternal depths of hell. Huh? And also, oh, yeah, that. That whole taxing thing, that's to pay for an illegal immigrant who came into the country illegally to get free childcare that you don't qualify For. Isn't it great? I mean, wow. Thanks, Mandani.
Tony Kennett
We are going to use the power of government to lower prices and make it easier for New Yorkers to put food on the table. When government understands its purpose as serving the very working people that it has left behind, time and again, it can make a difference in the most pressing struggles facing our city today.
Tony Kennett (Host/Commentator)
Oh, such excitement. And again, this coming from the same guy who just a couple of months ago announced, oh, by the way, we're out of money.
Tony Kennett
New York City faces a budget crisis of a historic magnitude. We inherited a deficit larger than any since the Great Recession. Years of mismanagement and chronic under budgeting alongside a structural imbalance between what New York City sends to the state and what we receive in return have taken a toll.
Tony Kennett (Host/Commentator)
Also, all of the projects that I announced that are going to cost oodles canoodles and toaster strudels of gold doubloons.
Tony Kennett
We cannot close this deficit with savings alone. We need new revenue.
Tony Kennett (Host/Commentator)
Did you catch that? We can't just, you know, we can't just, you know, stop spending so much money. What we need to do is increase everybody's taxes. And so then again, because he was in a complete panic, he then came out and announced, after Kathy Hochul granted him an $8 billion bailout from the state. $8 billion bailout from the state of New York, he then also deferred pension payments. Just said, now we're not doing that for a while, therefore, basically saying, everyone else is gonna pay for it. The man essentially did a little ibotta. You know, he did a little of the. No, it's not ibotta. A little klarna little. I'm gonna pay for part of my burrito now and part of it later. And then he announced that because he got an $8 billion bailout and because he had decided to just pay pensions later, which, by the way, that's always real popular with New Yorkers, that he has solved the budget. He's balanced the budget. Ladies and gentlemen, New York.
Tony Kennett
It's executive budget season, and I'm proud to announce that our city's budget is fully balanced. This budget isn't just about numbers on a page. It determines if our libraries get funded, if a street is safe to cross, if snow is actually shoveled after a storm.
Tony Kennett (Host/Commentator)
I'm sorry. Since when is budget funding been like, oh, man, hold on. Should I cross the street, mama? I don't know, baby. I don't know if that budget's fully funded.
Tony Kennett
You deserve to know exactly how we got here, we inherited a $12 billion budget deficit. We are speaking about a fiscal crisis at the scale greater than the Great Recession. Was the Great Recession. Great Recession.
Tony Kennett (Host/Commentator)
Okay, gang, he just keeps going great Recession over and over and over. So then again, he finally announces that we just. We just did it. We fixed it. Just magic thin air. And why again? Because he got an $8 billion bailout from mommy and then he kicked a bunch of other really expensive payments down the road and just said, ah, maybe someday. So why do I bring this up? Because again, a lot of you already know a lot of this because this is exactly how the grocery store. You always hear a lot of these, these communist countries. You had, you know, Stalin's four year plan, or you had Mao's five year plans, all of these, like, year plan announcements. When I was at Indianapolis Public schools, for example, we would have, oh, our new racial equity 4 year rootin tootin racially equity hootin plan. And it was gonna make all of these strides because we finally figured it out. And then you get to the end of that four year plan or that five year plan, and you get nothing. Nothing has been done. And so what do you do? You just lie and say, well, it was because of these. The Jews or the whites or historical inequalities or the theft from the working man that did it. Mmm. Elon Musk or something. Yeah. AI.
Counterterrorism Expert
Mm.
Tony Kennett (Host/Commentator)
And then you just say that over and over until people reelect you for another four or five year plan that does absolutely nothing. And this comes from a couple of places, but they are losing a bit of their touch. And when I say they're losing their touch, I mean, again, they're big front running horse for 2028. You set aside Gavin the election rigging and Kamala the drunken sailor. Then you're kind of left with either J.B. pritzker of Golden Corral or Alexandria Ocasio Cortez we've made fun of before. Everyone's made fun of her before because she's an idiot. She's the same kind of idiot that Candace is. Meaning that, like, they can't speak, they've never read anything in their lives. They just regurgitate social media, which is why there are entire accounts documenting whenever Candace Owens or Alexandria Ocasio Cortez can't pronounce basic words. So, for example, when AOC suggested that it was Deloitte, the accounting firm in Wisconsin, who set the Cleveland river on fire back in 1871, which she was actually referring to Dupont, which doesn't have a major chemical facility anywhere close to setting the Cleveland river on fire. Or when she said there were two branches of government or that we no longer had enough clean air to drink. You know, that kind of stuff. Well, now she is back to unite the left. And they are going to take their tiki torches and they're going to march down from New York City to Alabama. Oh, boy.
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC)
It is time for the north to pull up to the South. It is time for New York to pull up to Alabama. It is time for all of us to come to Georgia, to Louisiana, to Tennessee, to Mississippi.
Tony Kennett (Host/Commentator)
And I love this. It's exciting. Radio crew will catch you guys on the flip side. It's the Tony Kinnit cast. We're going to continue on the live stream. Beautiful. So we got to start listing states. It's exciting. Get a little wackos 50 states and capitals going. But anyway, after she finally gets out, like New York is supposed to pull up. I've been again, there's a fantastic gotcha moment here. Later on we'll get to. What I'm always amazed about is the lead up to it because I'm told she's some amazing order. Bunny Sanders thinks she's great. He brings her on the private plane. They fly like Taylor Swift around the country. He says, I'm gonna put you in tight jeans and put you up on the podium. You talk, I'm going to stare at your backside and then we're going to do the show. And that's essentially the AOC maneuver. But when I listen to her actually make the proposals, what I'm hearing is a lot of genuine being really genuine. And also. Yeah. Comments pointing. I just got another fake accent going on. It's kind of preachery, but not. And it's like if you ran like the. You listen to Martin Luther King Jr. Give a speech five years ago and you're trying to recreate it at a lesbian book club. That's kind of the vibe.
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC)
Let them know exactly what they have on court with this injustice.
Tony Kennett (Host/Commentator)
Okay. So that's referred. Let them know what they have uncorked. You know, cuz there's a suspicion that like Kamala, she's kind of an alcoholic. Uh, but anyway, you know, let them know what they've uncorked with this unjustice. So the idea is that New York is going to do what to the Southern states? What are you going to do? This ain't the War of 1812. You ain't taking a little trip down the Mississippi, honey. What are you gonna Go down there and do. What would New Yorkers do in the South? Get lost. I, I, I'm, I'm looking for the, I can't find a bagel joint anywhere down here. I mean, what do you think you're gonna do? Oh, they're gonna donate money. Okay.
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC)
They think they can draw us out of power. They do not know the sleeping giant that they just awakened.
Tony Kennett (Host/Commentator)
Okay, so the sleeping giant, they don't know. Yes. Ah, Democrats famous for not gerrymandering their states. I will remind you again, last week we've played clip after clip after clip after clip. I got more receipts than a CVS with a brand new sheet of paper. All right, the argument that the Democrats who are going to go on this big retribution gerrymandering thing can sweep up all of these extra seats, forget that they've already gerrymandered Illinois until there's nothing else they can do. They have people suggesting satellite districts now where part of District 1 is in Chicago and then part of it is an arbitrary bubble. They drew in the southern part of the state. California doesn't have a lot left to squeeze out of it. New York doesn't have a lot left to squeeze out of it. Maryland as all Democrat districts but one Republican district. Massachusetts can't do nothing. Connecticut, nothing. What are you, what are you talking about again? You're, you're communicating that your representative from New York, honey, sweetie, baby, you've already gerrymandered that one. As far as in fact, Kathy Hogle signed a mid decade off schedule redistricting map for the state. She's the one who started all of this
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC)
because it is not a coincidence and our whole country must understand that it was not until voting rights were ratified in this country that we got the Great Society.
Tony Kennett (Host/Commentator)
Okay, first of all, first of all, touting Lyndon B. Johnson's Great Society is the most gaslighting thing of all time. General retent, general retention. Poverty in this country increased by 35% in the scope of the great societies running. Academic performance in this country declined. General literacy declined during the Great Society where the government's just going to come in and pay for everything. It'll be fine. Oh, it's worked so wonderfully. That's why the metropolises of the world are Baltimore, inner city, Atlanta, Memphis, Louisiana. Oh, oh, oh, oh boy.
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC)
Because when black Americans have the right to vote and that vote is protected, our schools get funded. When voting rights are protected, health care gets expanded. When voting rights are protected, our country moves forward.
Tony Kennett (Host/Commentator)
Forward.
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC)
And Montgomery, that's what they're actually afraid of.
Tony Kennett (Host/Commentator)
Ah, there's the gaslighting of Republicans are really concerned about health care and education. I mean, forget the fact that the school choice movement has opened more schools that are performing leaps and bounds above their public counterparts. That there are schools all across the south that have students that are in lottery programs to run, sprint, jump, catch any ride to a charter school or a private school so they don't have to go to some of the big inner city trash heaps that are producing extremely illiterate students, by the way, from extremely illiterate teachers. I know because I was the science administrator for the largest at the time public school district in the state of Indiana. I've seen what people are desperate to get away from. And we gave Indianapolis more money. And we gave Indianapolis more money. And we gave Indianapolis more money. Sorry, get kind of on a broken record there because it's every four years. It does nothing.
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC)
They're afraid of us coming together. They're afraid of us protecting one another.
Tony Kennett (Host/Commentator)
Oh, there it is. There's the old, the old populist argument. They're afraid of the little people standing together. This is the silliest nonsense Disney high school villain plot. That is not at all how the. The rich are really afraid. We're all gonna unite together as one. Okay, that was really great. The first time that dime novel story was played out in ancient freaking Greece. It's not how the world works. Why? Because and especially in this country, the 1% is extremely mobile. Huge chunks of those in the top 10% of earners in this country, in fact, of the top 10%, like the vast, vast majority of the top 10% are constantly moving in and out of that earning framework because it's very easy to participate in this mobile economy. But the argument that there's just. Ah, there's Mr. Burns at Smithers. Look at all of those peons down there. Who is that? Well, that's Homer Simpson, sir. You decided that he should be banished to the ninth circle of hell. Ah, Homer Simpson. Like what this nonsense, this absolute garbage 90s comedy cartoon script, Alabama is the crucible. The crucible. Please, AOC, tell us what a crucible is. I'm looking forward. In fact, I'm gonna stand by with some really nice cast iron tongs to grab this crucible that you're referring to. But anywho, the next part is. Again, this is all the lead up because this is the part no one's really gonna cover because the next part's. AOC's an idiot. She's dumb. All right, great. We'll get there. But this first part is what's going to be run on the ballot. This is what Graham Platner, when he's not calling for violent revolution in Maine with his totem cough tattoo, which, by the way, he can't remember. Well, we'll get to him in a minute. We'll let AOC continue here because she gets extra special.
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC)
Georgia is the crucible. Tennessee, Louisiana, Mississippi is the crucible.
Tony Kennett (Host/Commentator)
Okay. Are the crucibles. Okay. You don't know what a crucible is. Don't say it just because you're like, oh, this is where all this stuff happens. And you. You pulled out the thesaurus or you asked chat. GPT. You know, hey, what are some other things that are, like, where everything's happening and it's important, and it's like, here are 46 different synonyms for the climax, the battlefield. And then she's, Ah, the crucible. They're all the crucible. There's one crucible. It's where the. It's where the metal is melted. It's the hottest point. It's not. They can't all be the crucible. Now, if you said the south is going to be the next foundry where justice is molded and poured. Ah, yeah, yeah, that. Now, that might actually have a little bit of merit, but you got to read, sweetie.
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC)
So if you are not from here, it is time to pull up. Because what they thought was the final blow is actually just the opening silo.
Tony Kennett (Host/Commentator)
The opening silo. Ah, yeah. You know, the opening silo. Ah, good times, Good time. Yeah, yeah. You just. I tell you what, anytime a war started, remember Fort Sumter. Remember? And the very first thing that happened is they took a large silo, they made sure it was full of all of the right kinds of grain, and then they just hurled it via catapult at the fort. That's how the civil war began. It's true. Yeah. Remember, don't. Don't fire until you see the whites of their silos. Bunker Hill trying to argue with the British over who got to store their grain. That's what Joseph was dreaming about. For Egypt told the pharaoh. He said, seven years of silos. Assyrians are going to come and attack Egypt. Lots of silos. You got to get ready for it. Polish those chariots there. Yeah, it's true. True story. Obviously, you would think the. Well, she meant to say opening salvo. Okay, well, you can only do this so many times before. We just have to ask why. You're retarded. Are you just that dumb, or are you pretending? I mean, at some point, you really have to ask. Look, people have a lot of verbal flubs. I have quite a few of my own. But at least I know the word of which I am trying to say. I mean, I have one person pointed out, maybe opening saliva, opening salutations, maybe open San Francisco. Maybe she's, you know, jamming out to a little train. I don't know why. But anyway, so aoc. Very exciting. Very, very cool. Now, I do want to actually get over to a couple of things that are a little bit more newsworthy because right now in the primary game, things are getting a little interesting. And then there's also some of this Trump RX stuff that has some pretty huge implications for the economy and I'd say a pretty big victory for the Trump administration itself. Kind of on the list of this, this generic stuff. Before, before we do that, I want to kick it over to Elizabeth Mitchell. She is our White House correspondent. Because again, not only is May Foster Care Month, but the Trump administration has just launched a huge initiative to change how a lot of this, at least how we view foster care children and those who are missing in the eyes of the justice system and requiring different law agencies to coordinate. Check it out. We go over to our White House correspondent, Elizabeth Mitchell with the Daily Signal. Good to see you.
Elizabeth Mitchell (White House Correspondent)
Good to see you, too, Tony.
Tony Kennett (Host/Commentator)
Let's dive right in. I know the Trump administration has announced a series of special projects. One that caught my attention that you spent a lot of work on is this tracking down missing foster care children. Tell us a little more about it.
Elizabeth Mitchell (White House Correspondent)
60% of people who are trafficked started off or have had some time in the child welfare system. And so the Trump administration is doing something to stop human trafficking before it can even begin.
Tony Kennett (Host/Commentator)
Operation HOPE brings together public and private resources and local, state and federal law enforcement to locate missing foster youth, provide them with support services, and bring them back to safety. Mississippi is proud to be the pilot state for this initiative. Over the past several months, investigators from Attorney General Fitch's team, special agents from the HHS Office of Inspector General, specialists from ncmec, staff from my team at acf, and staff from the Mississippi Department of Child Protection Services worked together and carefully laid out a plan to locate recovery in return missing children to safety.
Elizabeth Mitchell (White House Correspondent)
And what they're doing is they are tracking down missing foster children. Those who run away from their homes or their parents have lost contact with them. We don't know where they are. They started off this program in Mississippi. They piloted it there very recently. And they found 11 missing foster. Sorry, they found 13 missing foster children. That's 85% of the foster children that were missing in the state. So this was very successful. And they're rolling this out to other states as soon as possible.
Tony Kennett (Host/Commentator)
So how are they actually moving about doing this? Because I know that you can announce a special task force and if this just means a, a new tab in the local sheriff department's things to look out for, that's one thing. What do we actually see being moved in as kind of the infrastructure that's beyond just putting a face on the side of a milk carton?
Elizabeth Mitchell (White House Correspondent)
So states are going to opt into this. The HHS Assistant Secretary of Health is reaching out to states, the Attorney General of Mississippi who piloted this program, reaching out to states. They're seeking interest of other states interested in helping track down these m. Missing foster children. What they do is they use all of the various data points that they have on these foster children so they see that they were spotted in one location. They were. A traffic camera caught them somewhere else. You have all of these different points in which these people, they use your credit card over here, all these different data points on these foster children, and they use that in order to make the circle, which they could be in, smaller and smaller and smaller, making it easier to locate them.
Tony Kennett (Host/Commentator)
Are there any states that are worried that this is going to be used as some type of an anti lgbt, whatever kind of a measure? Usually that's the crew that's encouraging kids to run away from home if they have some type of additional letters that they like to claim in the pronoun section.
Elizabeth Mitchell (White House Correspondent)
You know, it is difficult for anyone of any party to disagree with a program that's seeking to find missing children and prevent them from falling into the hands of traffickers. But you make an interesting point, Tony, which is that we have seen a large number of situations in which across the country, particularly in blue states, but it's happened across the country where we have children who are looking to change. They believe they're a different gender than the one that they are. They run away from home, they get put in the foster care system, and then the government prevents them from being reunited with their parents, even though those parents are not, in fact, abusive. And that's another thing Trump administration is doing a lot on. I've talked a lot to Assistant Secretary of Health Brian Christine about this. They're making sure that your religion, your views on biological sex, being male and female do not make you ineligible to parent your own children. And they're really cracking down hard on that.
Tony Kennett (Host/Commentator)
Well, that's one of the things that the Alliance Defending Freedom has really focused heavily on, obviously, May being Foster Care month. Kind of last question on this particular side of things because it sounds like a pretty sizable initiative when you talk about tracking some of these data points. Are these things that are already on the books and just aren't being coordinated or are the, are there perhaps some new measures that are being driven to actually capture some of this data and kind of bring it to the forefront?
Elizabeth Mitchell (White House Correspondent)
This is a partnership of local and federal law enforcement. We have the police officers in the county, the state police officers, we have FBI agents, the national level. They're all working together in order to figure out where these foster children are and bring them home.
Tony Kennett (Host/Commentator)
Excellent. Well, that's Elizabeth Mitchells, who's our White House correspondent. Thanks for giving us a bit of an update on this initiative. And we'll check back in with you if there's any updates.
Elizabeth Mitchell (White House Correspondent)
Thanks so much.
Tony Kennett (Host/Commentator)
All right, let's talk just very, very briefly here again regarding Foster Care Month. What would you say if you found that some of America's biggest ones that you use and support are paying for gender transition drugs and surgeries for kids? This kind of stuff is really happening. So our friends at the Alliance Defending Freedom are doing something about it. Companies like American Express and Home Depot appear to cover irreversible experimental gender transition procedures for minors in their employee healthcare plans. This means that kids can get puberty blockers, cross sex hormones and life altering surgeries. And the companies you support foot the bill. This has to stop and you can do something about it. Sign Alliance Defending Freedoms petition to. Excuse me. Sign Alliance Defending Freedom's petition telling corporate America to stop covering these procedures. Your voice will be heard by leaders at these major companies whose decision to end coverage for these procedures could impact other companies across the country. Visit joinadf.comtony or text Tony to 83848 to sign the petition today. And we love the Alliance Defending Freedom. Not only are they fantastic sponsors, but they've also done a ton of critical work maintaining parental rights, especially in light of those in the foster care system. So that aside, I did want to share just a smidgen on the bonus tonus side of the show tonight, a little bit of primary news because it is, it's getting pretty spicy. All right. Kentucky is coming right down to the wire. Of course, we have some Louisiana stuff from you over the weekend. First and foremost, Senator Bill Cassidy of Louisiana. He's gone. He is Gone. So Representative Julia Letlow topped the Louisiana Republican U.S. senate primary with 45% of the vote, followed by State Treasurer John Fleming at 28%, sending incumbent Bill Cassidy to a very distant third. And also that means he's out of the June 27 runoff. So, again, you're going to see Letlow and Fleming head to the runoff and Cassidy is not a part of it. This is the first time in 14 years that a C. That a sitting GOP senator has lost renomination. So there are a couple of takes on this. So obviously, the one that makes perfect sense to me is that in 2021, he voted to convict Trump in the 2021 impeachment trial. That's it. That's the whole thing. A lot of Americans rightly see that as a scam. They don't like that. They don't particularly enjoy that. And this clip, rightly so haunted him since he made this decision. Constitution in our country is more important than any one person. I voted to convict President Trump because he is guilty. Yeah. I mean, he later kind of came and tried to downplay that a little bit here. Yeah, that's, that's not really going to endear you to the president. It's definitely not going to endear you to voters in Louisiana. Now, he did one thing that I find rather embarrassing from anyone who loses an election. I think the best thing to do when you lose an election, no matter what, no matter when you call your opponent, you say, hey, good job, congratulations. Then you get out there and if it's a primary, you say, I plan to endorse whatever. I am pleased to serve the people of Louisiana and whatever, boogity, boogity, boogity. I don't know. Other than that, you really shouldn't have to say anything. You thank your darling wife, you thank the darling people. You go, you have some bacon covered shrimp, as Ron Swanson would, and you go home. But that's not what he did. He had to throw his toys out on the way, which is just. Guys don't. I've been able to participate in democracy.
Donald Trump
And when. And when you participate in democracy, sometimes
Tony Kennett (Host/Commentator)
it doesn't turn out the way you want it to. So far, okay, I have a private kind of a pet peeve. I think the word democracy is used all the time as though it is some magical gift from on high. I participated in democracy. Oh, it's so cool. Isn't it amazing? I do remember elementary school when you'd vote on something in the classroom. Did everyone just break out into cheers after you guys chose what game to play, we voted to. Oh, boy. I'm so tired of, like, the weird, like, fetish that some people seem to have with saying democracy. Because that is truly what some people. The only thing they believe this country has, the only thing that makes America great, is the fact that you vote on stuff, which you missed the point. It is what this country has voted to do and then backed up with the force behind those votes. But I. This is kind of a private pet peeve. It's annoying. But anyway, he's like, oh, I participated in democracy.
Elizabeth Mitchell (White House Correspondent)
Wow.
Tony Kennett (Host/Commentator)
But you don't pout, you don't whine, you don't claim the election was stolen. You don't find a reason why. See, he's making fun of Trump for saying that there was sketchy stuff in the 2020 election. You don't manufacture some excuse. You thank the voters for the privilege of representing the state or the country for as long as you've had that privilege. And that's what I'm doing right now. No, you're. You're being weirdly passive aggressive again. I don't. If you want to go out later, after this is all over, and then say, I'm glad that I was able to do this, whatever. I think it's a really crappy way to sell a book, but whatever. Get yourself some Ms. Now hits there, buddy. Okay, but like in your concession speech, it's a weird time because you still kind of have to work with the Senate until you're out of office. It's just. I don't know. For me, I think it's a little. I think it's a little goofy. Now, speaking of things that are goofy and never, ever happened, Maryland Republicans are demanding a federal audit of voter rolls after a vendor error sent out 400 primary voters the wrong mail in ballot for the party for how many times I am told that this system is amazing and there's never any problems ever. There sure seems to be a lot of problems now, by the way, the real answer to this would be like, the actual answer to move forward as a country would say, guys, there are problems. And when there are problems, you need to report them to us. So we do a thorough investigation or as transparent as possible, and we say, yeah, you know what? There absolutely could be a problem. Because you know what? People are people, and they're human. They make mistakes. Some of them are bad. I know bold, crazy statements here. And then you investigate it instead of this weird bifurcation where people either say everything is corrupt and Nothing is real. Or on the flip side, everything is amazing and angelic. As long as I'm winning, both of these are. And you can't. You can't rebuild any kind of a system that way. So, anyway, that's on the Maryland side of things. This brings us at last to Kentucky. So Ed Gallerain is, like, the polls at this point are, I think, a little bit messed up either way, but he is slightly ahead of Thomas Massie. So back on a. A May 11 poll, it had Ed Galrain at 48%, Thomas Massie down at 43%, 7.6%. We're not sure. It's a. It's a. A plus 10 shift in Ed Gowering's direction since April. And there are a couple of things that I wanted to point out here before we get to the big primary hullabaloo. So, first of all, there is a lot of money that is flowing into this race. A lot of money that is flowing into it. So our Pedro Gonzalez over at the Daily Signal reported on a ton of money that is going in to the primary race in Kentucky's fourth Congressional against Massie. There is also a ton of money coming in for Thomas Massie from outside of the state or the outside of the commonwealth, I should say. So 92% of Thomas Massie's funding for this primary is coming from outside the state. People who are definitely and absolutely trying to get him in, not the least of which for some of them. I mean, there are some Republicans who are donating to Massey. Absolutely. There are some, though, who are The Atlantic, you know, the Jackson Hinkle, the founder of the American Communist Party, you know, I mean, also endorsing Thomas Massie to win. Kind of weird, kind of strange. And then on the other side, you know, there was also a ton of money that's flowing into his opponent against him. I'm seeing every conspiracy theory, you know, on earth. But in fact, what in.
Tony Kennett
In.
Tony Kennett (Host/Commentator)
In all reality, what does it look like this election is going to be? A lot of people are gonna run in and they're gonna charge, and then it's gonna be over. Do I see Thomas here? It's very difficult for me to tell. I've asked some people on the ground, and they're saying that public sentiment is really against Massey, not for foreign policy stuff, not because they think that his sex scandals are, ooh, really super scandalous. We've already talked about that at nauseum here on the show. I don't care if in text he refers to his penis. As a pine cone. I don't. Why. I just. If that's the last minute oppo that's coming out, okay, that's real special. I don't care. But I will say this. What are voters annoyed about? That he's basically been the guy holding up the entire election. That's what people are pretty annoyed with. That's it. That truly is what voters are deeply annoyed with. So, for example, he pointed out that in the Big Beautiful bill, he wasn't gonna vote for it because deportations were a part of the border funding. That's. That's why he wasn't gonna vote for the Big border. The Big beautiful. Whatever. Super duper. Never have to vote for it. Another bill again, kind of bill, right? Garbage. Just being an obstructionist just to be annoying. We had those kids in school, do you not remember? Like the weird kids that always just went against the grain because that gave them attention. That's not what voters are looking for. That's. That. That's. That's not it, Chief. So do I expect Massey to, you know, pull away with a huge primary leap forward? I don't think so, but I'm not going to issue any predictions yet because a lot of these polls, when you get close to especially primary or localized polls from a national level. So, for example, when Politico, Reuters, and Ipsos and Harvard and morning consults and all of those all focus national attention on a state, you get polls that are weighted incorrectly because, again, shocker. Morning, Ipsos or morning consult? Ipsos, Reuters knows very little about how local dynamics work. Works like very, very few of them have any idea. For example, here in my own primary here in Indiana, again, I know it's a national show out of D.C. technically, but here in my beautiful eastern central Indiana, in a primary, I was subject to a group of individuals who said it would be down to a small town called Newcastle that was going to change everything in this election. And then Newcastle had one of the lowest primary turnouts ever. National groups know nothing about local politics. It's a tale as old as time. All right. It's not changing anytime soon. I'm just saying. I don't. I don't. I don't think these polls are anything special. I don't. Show me the proof being in the pudding. And again, I think that Ed Gallerain's pretty decent. Thomas Massey's disappointed me quite a bit. But this is an argument and a decision for Kentucky voters to toss him out for. And again, I'm. I'm particularly hoping it's because he's voted kind of like garbage as the reason to toss people out. All right, last but certainly not least, we're going to get into a little Trump RX prescription excitement. Oh, boy. I know that when we have any kind of a major press conference, this administration has a ton of press conferences announcing new programs and projects. And again, that's fine. There's a lot of stuff going on. Sure, I hear you. A lot of things to do, a lot of things to see. I really don't care for endless press conference excitement. I don't. It's not one of mine. Just to, you know, be upfront with you here, not something that I particularly enjoy. But either way, for the prescription content, the President of the United States announcing one, I think is a pretty decent program on generic drugs and the cost of them here in the United States. Here's Trump.
Donald Trump
Today, I'm thrilled to announce that we're increasing the number of drugs available on Trump rx by nearly seven times, adding over 600 affordable generics to the website. Working with industry partners, cost effective generic drugs are often available at just a tiny fraction of the price of their brand name equivalents. And in theory, they're the same thing. Sometimes they're better with the same dosage, the same effectiveness and the same active ingredients. Yet many consumers do not think to ask for them. They don't know about them. By incorporating this massive catalog of low cost generics@TrumpRx.gov, consumers will now have one source to ensure that they're getting the lowest possible cost on their prescription. So they have a real option now. Today they have something that they've never had before. They've never had anything like this or even close.
Tony Kennett (Host/Commentator)
Okay, why does this matter? This is a method the President is using to push back on the affordability narrative. Yes, by, by putting a lot of effort into generic prescriptions. I think over 600 of them were added to TrumpRx.gov or whatever it is. And I'm sorry, this is not like a sponsor. This wasn't sent to us. This is just the press conference today. So the President of the United States kind of again, throwing this particular bit in here. I think it's good because one of the arguments that is made consistently is that the Republican Party is doing nothing to combat affordability. And if the president is up here trying to make prescription drugs cheaper in the United States and effectuates getting more generic drugs imported to the United States and sold to the American people or manufactured in the first place, that makes sense. It does. And it is also a kind of unity point between the Trump administration and the abundance Democrats that brings up Mark Cuban, President. It's pretty remarkable seeing you and Mark Cuban up there and the fact that obviously Mark endorsed Kamala Harris back in 2020.
Donald Trump
Well, he made a mistake. It was a big mistake.
Elizabeth Mitchell (White House Correspondent)
What does this say?
Tony Kennett (Host/Commentator)
He left. Yeah, that's, that's what. He's out. The camera's out of shot there. But Cuban's laughing about what you two are building here.
Donald Trump
Well, it says we love people, we love our country. He wants to, he's got a good company and he's going to do a lot of business with this and I'm going to get drugs out through Amazon.
Tony Kennett (Host/Commentator)
Now, what does this actually say? It says two things. It does, it says two things very clearly. Number one, it says that Donald Trump is in fact a bit of a Bill Clinton kind of economic populist. He is, he is. When I say that it's really hard for the deaf, for the, for the deaf, excuse me, for the left to make arguments against the Trump health care or the Trump economy system. Donald Trump is to the left of the right when it comes to a lot of economic matters. He's, he's far more protectionist in a lot of ways. And again, that's his style. That is a lot of things that he has promoted has that frame on it. So the left has nowhere to run on this, which means that it's very strange. But the abundance party Democrats, which is a lot of regulations and some government intervention, but also getting rid of a lot of regulations that keep like nuclear power from becoming a prevalent thing and, and trying not to make everything dead under green energy, that kind of stuff. The, the abundant style instead of just the full socialist style of, of to the left politics. One of the things that Trump did in order to build this coalition in 2024 was bring in huge chunks of that left wing populism. Now some of it is to the socialist and the goofy side and we'll talk about that a little bit later this week. I mean, finding out that Hans Zorg Zeiss of Switzerland, the Swiss left wing billionaire, is funding huge anti AI things here in the United States should definitely give people quite a bit of pause. But on the basic populism sentiment here, yeah, that's one thing. So the President of the United States is not super right wing economic in a way that a lot of people have claimed him to be. But number two, it also shows this that there are people, there are, there is room for the President to make a campaign, to make a pitch to the American people. There is. There's room to make it. Why isn't Congress getting involved with this? Is the actual answer that you should be asking? The answer is House is. The House of Representatives has sent over bill after bill after bill over to the Senate. And the reason the Senate is doing absolutely nothing again remains FOR Senators Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, Thom Tillis of North Carolina, who aren't going to ever come over to any side because they're mad, they're resentful, they're bitter, and they're retiring. That leaves Lisa Murkowski of Alaska and Susan Collins of Maine. You say, tony, why didn't you mention John Thune? It is John Thune's job to come up with what to do with these four. Now, some of the people have said that in order to get rid. If you get rid of those four, if those four were convinced, you would have enough votes to pass. Breaking the filibuster. Breaking the filibuster would mean, hey, you can do things with a simple majority, and then everything would be fine. But you need that majority in that, you know, particular that you need that majority. We don't have it. And so what can Thune do? I've gotten this question a lot. We don't really have time for a ton of mail time tonight, but this is a really good time to answer that question. Thune can do two things and only two things. Number one, Thune can take away their committee assignments. That is going to do Nothing for Mitch McConnell. That's going to do nothing for Thom Tillis. Although I wouldn't see them. You know, it wouldn't hurt to see them stripped away from committee assignments anyway. They're both kind of old jerks. I'm sorry. That's what they've become. They both used not to be that way. But, hey, you know, ego is a hell of a thing. No matter who drinks from that chalice. Chalice is a cup. Alexandria Ocasio, Cortez. Anyway, so that would be one side. What about Lisa? Will Lisa Murkowski care if she was stripped from committee assignments? Maybe that might work with her. What about Susan Collins? There's an answer to how to deal with Susan Collins. Th says, hey, you get no money. You get no money. You get no money, no campaign, no nothing. You get to see Maine thrown to the guy who calls openly for violent revolution. Openly. And also has the Totenkopf Nazi tattoo on his chest, who also lied. He says, oh, a lot of guys in my unit Got it. And then he can't name a single person that he served with. Which, by the way, big red flag for anyone in the whole stolen valor space. If they can't name anyone ever that they served with, whether they're combat, whether they're a conventional meaning in the service or they're a contractor, they can't mention the names of those that they were in deep things with. So that's who Susan Collins is facing. Susan Collins has a pretty open road to beating this guy. Thune could hold campaign funding. That's the thing. So, by the way, that's. That's where we are. For the Senate to actually get things moving and for Congress to pass things that make the American people happy, that's what you need. And I refuse to just sit here like. There was a clip today. Oh, J.D. vance mentioned the Save America Act. Oh, great. It's not doing anything. It's not going anywhere. Those four senators haven't changed. Unless J.D. vance is talking in a rally to four people. Five, if you include Thune, it's doing nothing. Well, it's not good in the middle of an election to tell Republican people that there are Republicans with problems. Too freaking bad. I'm not gonna lie to my audience. Those four senators are the problem. They are a problem. And I don't know what you want me to tell you. I mean, two old senators are really mad now. They're grumpy and they're gonna retire. Cassidy's likely to be another one because he's clearly got curdled milk and sour grapes. You had the opportunity. You missed it. You missed it. The only thing that could possibly wrap around is if you sort of get Murkowski on board. And then what? You get Federman to flip and you do a filibuster removal on like a. Some kind of foreign policy thing, maybe. I don't know. Their chief. I think it's unlikely. So sorry, sometimes I have to just give you kind of the clear. Exactly. Kind of. What's down the line? And that happens to. That happens to be one of them. So before we're done for this evening, very, very quickly, I thought we had a super chat. I really didn't want to. I didn't want to leave that out before we're done for the evening. Oh, Jennifer Briggs sent Flow State. I have no idea what that means on the live stream side, but thank you very much. Really appreciate it. Those all said, you guys have a wonderful evening. We'll be back, Fry. Or. Excuse me, not Friday. We'll be back tomorrow, Tuesday, May 19th at 7pm Eastern. It's the Tony Kenned cast here on the Daily Signal, nationally syndicated and first on 93 WIBC. Take care.
