Previously on the Tony Kornheiser Show.
Tony Kornheiser
I haven't brought this up before. We're having people over for dinner tonight. I should say who, Right. Yes.
Michael Wilbon
You ruined our evening plan, so.
Unknown Voice
Yes.
Tony Kornheiser
I'm sorry.
Michael Wilbon
Get it out in the open.
Tony Kornheiser
Yes.
Michael Wilbon
But we are pivoting, and we're going to invite the same couple over.
Tony Kornheiser
Yeah, we'll all come up.
Steve Sands
The Tony Kornheiser show is on now.
Tony Kornheiser
How was your dinner? Oh, my dinner was fine. The salmon was a bit undercooked, and I was in the bathroom all night, but other than that, my dinner was fine.
Michael Wilbon
Well, we had to go deep into the freezer. I found some pork chops. We had a great dinner. Kids had some hot dogs.
Tony Kornheiser
That's great.
Michael Wilbon
But even better is the company.
Tony Kornheiser
Yeah. Nobody.
Michael Wilbon
We had these socialite.
Unknown Voice
We.
Tony Kornheiser
Oh, yeah, I know. They stopped at your house.
Michael Wilbon
Stopped by. Nancy was there. It was great for the kids to see them.
Tony Kornheiser
Then they came over here and got.
Michael Wilbon
Bored to see the new basement.
Tony Kornheiser
No, no. That's good. So, a bunch of things I have to talk about. I hate daylight savings time for the first three weeks.
Michael Wilbon
The worst.
Tony Kornheiser
I just hate it.
Michael Wilbon
It was not as bad as I expected this morning.
Tony Kornheiser
No, it's. You're an hour earlier. Because I have to get up and walk the dog an hour earlier. I'm up three hours earlier in nervous anticipation of getting up and looking outside, looking at how dark it is. And it's. It's pitch black when I leave the house with the dog. And it has. That way. No, I didn't wear a headlamp. I mean, you know, I'm on streets that are lit. But Soliza sent me something that. You know how many minutes of daylight we gain in Washington, D.C. this month? Month of March? 90.
Unknown Voice
90.
Tony Kornheiser
It's a lot. That is.
Unknown Voice
That's a big number.
Tony Kornheiser
So. I know.
Michael Wilbon
So are you willing to take the trade on the morning side just to get, you know, an extra hour of.
Tony Kornheiser
No, I don't care about the evening hour. I mean, you're not gonna try and.
Michael Wilbon
Go get into a cart?
Tony Kornheiser
No, here's what I would do.
Michael Wilbon
Bring it back at sunset.
Tony Kornheiser
I. Maybe at the beach. Here's. Here's what I. If it was up to me, I would wait until April 1st, opening day. That's all. April 1st.
Unknown Voice
This is extraordinarily early.
Tony Kornheiser
I don't understand it. I don't understand why they go this early. I don't. Yeah, I don't I don't know who to blame for this. Wait till April 1st.
Unknown Voice
Does this help you at all with your farming? You know, with tomatoes I want to grow.
Tony Kornheiser
No, because you don't put them in until there's a lot. I want to grow potatoes. I want to grow potatoes. I want to do marshmallows. I want to grow potatoes. I don't think there's anything wrong with that.
Unknown Voice
Not at all.
Tony Kornheiser
Yeah.
Unknown Voice
Russet.
Tony Kornheiser
I don't know.
Michael Wilbon
Big russet guy.
Tony Kornheiser
I don't know.
Michael Wilbon
I like With a little fingerling.
Tony Kornheiser
I like Luke. He's a russet.
Michael Wilbon
I must be pumped about Josh Allen.
Tony Kornheiser
I don't know. Yeah. $7 billion for Josh Allen, who's bankrolling the NFL now, is it musk? He seems to have disposable income because.
Unknown Voice
It was like 250 million guaranteed.
Tony Kornheiser
Just unbelievable sum of money. But he's worth it. Unlike Deshaun Watson, he's actually worth it.
Unknown Voice
100.
Tony Kornheiser
Let me get to a couple of things. You've heard me talk on this show a number of times. Oh, I didn't turn that clock. I'm looking at that clock and it's.
Michael Wilbon
But at least you took care of the BMW.
Tony Kornheiser
I'm gonna get to that. That's the second thing I'm gonna get to. The first thing I'm gonna get to is I've talked a number of times on this show about Howie Long offering to get me Skechers.
Michael Wilbon
You've not let this go.
Tony Kornheiser
Right. And I've. And I've talked about it to the degree that even. I mentioned that one of his guys called me a few months ago to get my address to send me schedule, and nothing ever happened. Nothing ever happened. So I figured. It doesn't matter. It's okay. I don't mind. It was just a, you know, a pair of sketches. It's okay.
Unknown Voice
We actually got an email related to this.
Tony Kornheiser
Really?
Unknown Voice
Can I pull it up for you?
Tony Kornheiser
Yeah, sure. So here's what happened. A box arrives at the house on Friday. Michael, you don't even know about this? No, Nigel knows about this because he was here. Box arrives in the house Friday. I don't know what it's from. And it says it's from New Mexico or Arizona. Rather, it's from Arizona. And the return name on it is Diane Long. Arizona. Okay. I open it up. It's two pairs of sketches. It's a white pair and a Black pair, size 10 and a half. Two pairs of golf shoes. No, regular.
Michael Wilbon
Are these ones you can just step into A let.
Tony Kornheiser
Yeah. Oh, yeah, yeah. Okay. Oh. Jeff Hines, Carmel, Indiana. Long time, first time. I love the show. Just sat down and watched PTI this evening. This would be Friday. Yes. And noticed the David Halberstam book in the background. However, the title is obscured by a random shoe. And I'm interested in knowing what book it is and if there's a story behind why the shoe is there. Are you just trying to hawk some footwear to help pay for your electrical bill? Okay, this is exactly what I'm looking for. Jeff Leonardo. Also my friend Jeff, the greatest bus driver in the world.
Unknown Voice
Yes.
Tony Kornheiser
Jeff sent me a text saying, what's the shoe? I took one of the white shoes out.
Michael Wilbon
Right foot, left foot, left foot. Oh, interesting.
Tony Kornheiser
I took it out.
Unknown Voice
That's right.
Tony Kornheiser
Because I wanted it to face in a way that you could see the brand name. The brand name is on the. The inside. So I. I took the left foot and I put it out there, and it did. The Halberstam book is the 50s, one of his great books, of course. But I put the shoe out there. And my thought was maybe if this Diane Long is Howie Long's wife, daughter, What? I don't know. Don't know if there's any relationship at all. But if she was interested in seeing if I got the shoes, product placement, since she left no email or anything like that, I would put the shoe out on PTI and see that signal. So, yeah, it's a bad signal.
Unknown Voice
Exactly.
Tony Kornheiser
And Jeff Hines have responded to it, but not yet Diane. So I wanted to mention that met.
Michael Wilbon
His wife, Diane during his freshman year at Villanova.
Tony Kornheiser
So it is okay. That's his wife. I have not put the shoes on. I've not tried the shoes on. I've not done anything like that. They are virgin shoes or the floor model. Right.
Michael Wilbon
You know, don't crease them.
Tony Kornheiser
Okay. So I did that. The second thing is, remember Mo, who emailed us how to change the clock in a BMW?
Unknown Voice
Oh, that's right. You have very detailed instructions.
Tony Kornheiser
Very specific, very detailed. And he said, I'll get to this. I followed his instructions yesterday morning, followed them to the letter, and yes, it worked. I was able to change the clock. But when I went to do the last thing, which is check a particular box on a screen with my hand, put my hand on the box to get a check mark, which would mean that I never had to change the clock again because it would be permanently in the position of understanding to be changed. Instead, what I got on the screen was, no, no, you're going to have to do this yourself. Words to that effect. We're not letting you sign in on this.
Michael Wilbon
So it's not. It just wasn't registering that you're trying to toggle that switch.
Tony Kornheiser
Right. Right. So if Mo is listening. And of course he's listening. What do I do now? What do I do now? Because I could not check the box to get this to where I don't have to do it again. But I was so proud of myself, sure, that I was following these instructions, and indeed, they worked. And everything he said to do was exact.
Michael Wilbon
So, like, every couple of years, and you have to go on YouTube to watch videos of how to change, you know, windshield wiper blades. And every car is just a little bit different.
Tony Kornheiser
Right. I do this again. There are a million things the Internet does that are great. And there's one thing it does that's bad that ruins the world. It's the worst thing that ever happened because it allows bad people to contact other bad people and allows people to say bad things about people they shouldn't be saying bad things about. Yeah, it ruins lives. It helps. You can cook a chicken, okay, 50 different ways. Yes, but it's awful. Then that's one other thing. I had one of the great joys of my life yesterday. I played golf with my son.
Unknown Voice
Oh, what fun.
Tony Kornheiser
Yeah.
Unknown Voice
And it was a nice day, too, Right?
Tony Kornheiser
Well, nice is a relative term. It was nicer Sunday was nicer in D.C. than Saturday, but it was chilly and it was windy. And it was windy. Not as windy as Saturday when I also played, but it was chilly and windy and. And I had a wonderful time playing with Michael, who watches me at my worst. And. And basically says, your clubs don't fit you. You've shrunk, you gotta get new clubs.
Michael Wilbon
I just think you need to get a club that allows you to swing freely. That's a very polite way of saying this, but he had two great shots on Road Runner. Yeah, you almost got there, too.
Tony Kornheiser
I didn't get there, though.
Michael Wilbon
You gotta hit the sim room.
Unknown Voice
So would you finish at 70, 72, something like that?
Tony Kornheiser
Well, I was close, but it's closer to 102.
Michael Wilbon
This is.
Tony Kornheiser
But Michael got birdied number one.
Michael Wilbon
It feels like it's the start of meteorological spring, at least. But this is the longest stretch where I didn't get to play any winter golf. We went out and played 10 holes, I think, right after New Year's, but we didn't get to see grass on the course for what felt like a month and a half.
Tony Kornheiser
Yeah, So I thought you. I thought you played pretty well.
Michael Wilbon
It was nice just to get out and walk. I am. I am dealing with the pains of swinging as hard as I can into a screed for about two months while trying to carry the kids. But.
Tony Kornheiser
Yeah. Yeah, but no, it was. It was a lovely day. We played with Steve Rose and Bill Russell and we were out there and. And never waited for a shot.
Unknown Voice
No.
Michael Wilbon
It's nice to see the golf course come back to life.
Tony Kornheiser
Yeah. It's in the process of doing that, as are trees.
Unknown Voice
Yeah.
Michael Wilbon
As allergies.
Tony Kornheiser
When I was walking Jesse early in the morning. There are buds on trees.
Unknown Voice
Yeah. The signs of spring are definitely here.
Tony Kornheiser
Yeah. But. But I also remember reading about a week ago, reading a note that said there was the possibility in the third week of March of part of a polar vortex coming loose in the Arctic and heading here, which means, you know, then you're getting snow and you can have snow in March.
Unknown Voice
It'll be gone.
Tony Kornheiser
Stay as long. Yeah, but you can have snow in March. Is there anything else? I wanted to talk. You know, I watched some of the golf yesterday. Maybe Wilbourne watched, maybe he didn't. Russell Henley eagled number 16 at Bay Hill, had another birdie and overtook Colin Morikawa and beat him head to head. Beat him.
Unknown Voice
Morikawa didn't lose that so much.
Tony Kornheiser
Morocco didn't have a great day. He shot even.
Unknown Voice
Okay.
Tony Kornheiser
He shot even. Morikawa was up, I think, three shots going into the.
Michael Wilbon
If you look at Morikawa's strengths, he is an incredible iron player. He has not been the best putter, but he's been streaky with that. And Russell Henley going back to Saturday was just making a lot of short putts. Dfc. They were going in at the correct speed, but it's one of the difficulties of playing with the lead where you have to try and extend. You have to extend. And 16 at Bale has historically been a hole where people can make really good scores. Unfortunately, NBC went to commercial apparently, right as Russell Anerley was setting up for that chip in.
Tony Kornheiser
Was that right?
Michael Wilbon
So they barely came back for it. So everything you've seen was from there trying to play catch up with. Let's see it from a different angle.
Tony Kornheiser
Oh, okay.
Michael Wilbon
As we're gonna go for a limited impact of commercials this week, except for when it matters.
Tony Kornheiser
And then there's a lot of $4 million. That's what he won. Wow, that's great. Keegan Bradley shot like 7 under on.
Michael Wilbon
The final day playing captain.
Tony Kornheiser
Yeah. Yeah, he could play in the Ryder Cup. Yeah. Or is it President's Cup?
Michael Wilbon
It's Ryder Cup.
Tony Kornheiser
Ryder Cup.
Michael Wilbon
Beth Page.
Unknown Voice
So can I offer my condolences?
Tony Kornheiser
We lost to Albany. Not by a lot. Five points.
Unknown Voice
Three.
Tony Kornheiser
Three. Okay.
Unknown Voice
And there was a three point shot at the end of the game to tie. To tie. That didn't go in then you have a covered. There's six and a half point underdogs.
Tony Kornheiser
That's fine.
Unknown Voice
Yeah.
Tony Kornheiser
Think they're getting a lot of action betting on big ones and Albany.
Unknown Voice
There is.
There should be some people looking into it now. Probably going to get at large bid because the America east will get probably about five or six teams.
Michael Wilbon
Yeah.
Tony Kornheiser
Yeah. At least one. We'll get at least one.
Michael Wilbon
We'll probably get that playing game at the 11 spot.
Tony Kornheiser
Right.
Unknown Voice
At this point, anybody but UVM, right?
Tony Kornheiser
No, it's okay. But I mean I'd like to see. I wonder if Bryant will beat them. I assume they're going to. They're on a collision course.
Unknown Voice
Yes.
Tony Kornheiser
One and two. One other thing. There is free agency in the NFL. It's going to be a big story today. I know Wilbond doesn't want it to be. I know he wants the NBA to be the story. But free agency is going to be the big story. And I would just say this Miles Garrett, who came out a few weeks ago, the Cleveland pass rusher of renown. And so look, I don't want to be here anymore. He said, you know this narrative of from Cleveland to Canton, that's not what I'm about. I want to get into a Super Bowl. I want to play on a winning team. I don't want to be here for another rebuild. Be the second rebuild. They were 3 and 14 last year. So what? What? I don't know what else you would call it but a rebuild. And Myles Garrett took their money. So Myles Garrett has no principles. Just come out and say I'd like to be the richest guy on defense. I saw what Max Crosby got. I want more than him and I'll stay. And that's what he told them privately. There's no question about that. Yeah, but I mean your public position is that you're a martyr in some way and you're got honor. You have no honor. You're rich. It's okay.
Michael Wilbon
Got 120 guaranteed.
Tony Kornheiser
Yeah, it's okay. Just say this is what motivates me, the money. Because you're in another rebuild. Because there's no other word for getting on a 3 and 14 bus. There's no other word. Get out of Here. Michael Wilbon when we return. I'm Tony Kornheiser.
Unknown Voice

This is Matt Francis, longtime listener, second time emailer though it's been a few years. An indie musician hoping to get my music featured on your show. I'm a former D.C. resident who's been living in LA for over a decade now. I love that your podcast keeps me connected to all the important happenings back in the District. Potential snowfall totals, Pepco Nightmares, the Nats Bullpen, the Wizard's Woes, Rodent issues. It's gotten me through so much over the years. I wanted to share two songs for my upcoming project Forever Guaranteed which be available. It's available now. Was available starting last Thursday. Okay on all streaming platforms. This is called Take a Shot at Me. It's an attempt at channeling my inner Springsteen with a focus on a more heartland rock sound. A song about standing tall while letting your heart bare for the tough ones who aren't afraid to love harder than they fight. It's a lovely song. Matt Francis won first of his two songs today and he plays in Michael Wilbon. A lot of stuff happened today over the weekend in a lot of sports in golf, in football, in basketball, little bit in baseball. There was a lot to watch, though. Nothing inordinately consequential. What did you. What stood out for you, if anything?
Matt Francis
Wow, Tony. I have to really think about that now. Sometimes something just jumps out because of the level of importance. You don't have that right now. The NHL. No, NHL's got probably 12 to 15 games. The NBA's got about 18 to 20 each team remaining. You know, I saw just a smorgasbord. I saw a little bit of certain things during the week. I'd been three college basketball games consecutively. Two of them women, Northwestern dudes. Northwestern.
Tony Kornheiser
Yeah, Northwestern games.
Matt Francis
The week sort of continued in that. In that direction. But I. What did I. Well, I was traveling last night and could not see. And I have late flight so I couldn't see the end of the golf. I don't. I knew I. Oh, we'll talk.
Tony Kornheiser
I'll. Yeah, here's what happened because. Let's talk about that because your boy and I know you're friends with Morikawa. Yeah, he got caught and passed by Russell Henley who eagled 16 and then birdie. He had an eagle and a birdie and he caught and passed Morikawa and they held on. Now they're head to head, you know, and Morikawa needs a birdie on 17 or 18 and doesn't get it. And Henley has to make two par putts. The one to win isn't that hard. It's three feet. But he had to make a five or six footer on 17 to stay ahead of Morikawa. He shot 72 under Morikawa. 72. He didn't lose it, but he didn't win it. You know what I mean? So.
Matt Francis
Yeah, no, I get it. I just. I was rooting, of course, rooting for Colin.
Tony Kornheiser
Yeah.
Matt Francis
You know, going into yesterday and I did not watch, you know, I did not get into the college basketball yet. I'm going to get in heavily, you know, I don't care about Duke Carolina anymore. That's what the direction of college basketball has done to me. I did watch Auburn lose. That was like Thursday, wasn't it?
Tony Kornheiser
Well, didn't they get beat on the last second shot?
Matt Francis
They lost again.
Tony Kornheiser
They lost Alabama. Right.
Matt Francis
I watched the second game.
Tony Kornheiser
Yeah, okay.
Matt Francis
And so I did watch that. So it was smattering, Tony. It's too early for baseball for me. And what else was there?
Tony Kornheiser
Well, there's an explosion and an explosion of free agency in the NFL the first day.
Matt Francis
Well, yes, instead of that, watching because I'm listening and reading because that matters to me because my team is in the thick of it. The Bears are in the middle of it, in the thick of it. Today could be a huge day for the Bears. Meaning not just defense, any team but for the next seven to 10 years depending on who you sign and how you handle it. So yeah, I was completely. As a matter of fact, I'll confess. So I was flying. I had a two hour delay last night from O'Hare to DCA. Not the end of the world. Not all that rare. I land at 1:06am oh, late. And so I get home, it's like 1:40. I'm annoyed. I then decide to review the top hundred free agents. Oh, the ones that the Bears could have interest in. So I was asleep at about 4:40.
Tony Kornheiser
So the biggest news to me and there is legitimate big news. DK Metcalf goes to Pittsburgh and he's exactly what they need. Except they don't have a quarterback. Now they have to go out and get a quarterback, right?
Matt Francis
No, you get half the team of quarterback. They have a quarterback. They have two.
Tony Kornheiser
No, they haven't. Well they haven't reached out to either though, right?
Matt Francis
They haven't. Well, you know they didn't, didn't go get one.
Tony Kornheiser
That's what I would say to go get a quarterback because you just got a great wide receiver. Devonte Adams went to the Rams. He'll replace Cooper cup and that's Matthews. They signed Matthew Stafford to a big deal. So that makes sense. The one that, that is irksome to me and I'm. I mentioned this at the beginning of the show. Miles Garrett. I mean, you know, don't talk to me about having principle. Just say I want the money. It's okay to say I want.
Matt Francis
It's fine. Yes, you know. Or you know, I guess you could also change your mind. I'm sure there are people sitting around Myles Garrett saying. Who know Myles Garrett. And they're saying to him yeah, yeah, yes, you know, this is great. You've already made yourself clear. Says your case. He. And then somebody puts $150 million right.
Tony Kornheiser
In his face higher than Max Crosby from the day before.
Matt Francis
So it becomes. I care about that. I mean, Myles Garrett, we thought was going to be traded. I have some sense of, you know, the teams who were in there making offers and the Browns were just saying no. I have sense of a couple of teams who are making offers and so. Yeah. Yes, Holly, there is actual news and I think there'll be huge news today.
Tony Kornheiser
Well, Darnold will go somewhere. Darnold will be a catch somewhere. Right. And the Raiders traded for.
Matt Francis
Yeah.
Tony Kornheiser
What's his name? Geno Smith. Gino Smith. So they need a quarterback. They need a quarterback.
Matt Francis
Seattle quarterback.
Tony Kornheiser
Seattle needs one.
Matt Francis
Yeah. So that's. That's really what has had my attention for the last few days, and it will have my attention completely.
Tony Kornheiser
You don't need offense. You need linemen and defense.
Matt Francis
We need. We need. We need. We need offensive linemen.
Tony Kornheiser
Yeah. You don't need.
Matt Francis
But.
Tony Kornheiser
You don't need skill position.
Matt Francis
But we. Very well, depending on what we get in free agency today, we then may trade our. Change our attention in the draft.
Tony Kornheiser
Yes.
Matt Francis
So we need an edge rusher, without question. So there's just some, you know, there's some big stories to be had by the time you and I start to run our mouths this afternoon.
Tony Kornheiser
I totally agree with that. And then. And that will be a big day today. I want to go back to college basketball, though. And I wonder with. Even with the limited amount that you've seen, you have been very skeptical, outwardly skeptical. Of the dominance of the sec. You said, let's see. Let's see.
Matt Francis
Yeah.
Tony Kornheiser
I mean, we're talking about it, but they're playing each other. Let's see. Are you still in the skeptical mode?
Matt Francis
Sure. Nothing's happened to change it yet. We haven't gotten them. We haven't gotten the tournament yet. Yeah. Yes. I'm skeptical. There's. There's two. Here's the thing, Tony. All the evidence points to me being dead wrong. All of it. All the evidence points to the SEC teams being just what Jay Billis has told us.
Tony Kornheiser
Yep.
Matt Francis
On the show so far.
Tony Kornheiser
Yep.
Matt Francis
A couple of times. And all the evidence points to Duke being as good as their numbers are.
Tony Kornheiser
Maybe so far.
Matt Francis
Maybe it points to it. I. I want to see. I don't believe either. Not yet. And that is. It's not like it's going to take anything special to make me change my mind and say, okay, I'm all in. You win the games, you keep winning the games. When it gets a single elimination, which they're going to be now, whether it's your conference tournament or the tournament. So we'll see. That's what makes March Madness fun. And, you know, I'm excited about that because the men's part of it. I don't. I care about the women's college basketball, just like last year. I care. That's what I care about. I care about UCLA and USC. I care about South Carolina. I care about UConn. I care about, you know, I know who the women are who play college basketball. I know them, I watch them now. I go to games in person. I went to back to back women's college basketball games last week. I have a sense of that. I know the coaches in a case. In a few cases. I know the coaches personally. So I do care about the women more than the men. The men I don't have even. I don't even know who's playing because they come and they say one year, and even if they say two years, they all transfer.
Tony Kornheiser
Yeah.
Matt Francis
So I don't, you know, I'm not. I'm not as excited about the men in college basketball as I am the women.
Tony Kornheiser
We'll get you out of here on this. LeBron's injury. Big deal, Little deal. No deal.
Matt Francis
No deal yet. And if they set a week to two, and if it's two, it still won't be a big deal. Now that is six games. Two weeks now is six games. So six games. If you are on a road trip, and I think they're on a five game road trip, if you are, you can go one in five, and they wouldn't go one in five otherwise because they've been so hot. But here's why. It's a really. Here's what could make it a really big deal. So right now, the Lakers look like they could easily finish with everybody healthy. Number two in the west, the second seed. And so you would get somebody who comes out of the play in the seventh seed. You know, that could be somebody like, I don't know, Sacramento or. It'd be fine. And it would be a series, and it would be a challenge, by the way. But they could get Golden State, they could slip to 3 and get a 6, 3 with the warriors in the first round. That would be nuclear to have that series in the first round.
Tony Kornheiser
Too bad. Because then one of them is out right after that. It's too bad. It's got to be the highest draw.
Matt Francis
It is.
Tony Kornheiser
That'd be the highest draw in the entire playoffs.
Matt Francis
Yeah. Yeah. But it would start the playoffs with a Bang.
Tony Kornheiser
Yeah.
Matt Francis
With a bunch of people that you know you want to see. Yes, there's five hall of Famers. Yes, there's five first ballot hall of Famers on the floor in that series. So if the Lakers slide and they can slide to 4, which doesn't give you Golden State, because Golden State is not going to get to five, by the way. They may not even get to six. They're tied, I think right now for six. I think so. That there's really, there's real news there. There's real intrigue there. The last, the last two weeks since the trade deadline in the NBA has been irresistibly great.
Tony Kornheiser
Those two teams you got, you got.
Matt Francis
Well, not just those two, but you just. Yes, those two. But I'm talking about, I'm talking about a whole slate of stuff. Talking about Denver. The interest in Denver is legit. Minnesota, who you know, I keep waiting on, has won five in a row. Milwaukee is at least in a place now where, you know, you got Giannis and Dame and it's like, okay, these guys are both averaging 30.
Tony Kornheiser
Yeah, they got their brains beat out last night at home.
Matt Francis
And then you get, and then you get discount. You've got Oklahoma City.
Tony Kornheiser
Yeah, they're fine.
Matt Francis
Talk about skeptical. Like most people are skeptical of them. I'm not.
Tony Kornheiser
I'm not skeptical of them at all. No, I'm not. Not at all.
Matt Francis
I mean, there's reason to be.
Tony Kornheiser
I fully expect Cleveland and Oklahoma City to be in the finals. I would, I'd rather watch the Lakers and the Warriors. That's me. All right, I'll talk to you later. All right, so Michael Wilbon, boys and girls. We will take a break. Steve Sands joins us in a minute. I'm Tony Kornheiser.
Steve Sands
This is the Tony Kornheiser Show.
Tony Kornheiser
This is a Simplisafe read. We all have routines that bring us calm in a chaotic, often scary world. For people like Nigel, it's arming a Simplisafe home security system. Whether he's headed out for the day or locking up at night, that simple step does more than just protect his home. It gives him peace of mind. Yes, it's amazing how one small push of a button can have a big impact. Maybe the best thing about Simplisafe is knowing that your home is protected even before a threat becomes a problem. It's not just about responding to break ins, it's about preventing them in the first place. Feel good about it, right?
Unknown Voice
Absolutely. Peace of mind is everything. And with Simplisafe, when I'M away from my flat. I have all the calm in the world, knowing it's safe. And when I'm there at night, I know it's safe as well. It's just the best.
Tony Kornheiser
Unlike traditional security that only reacts after a break, in Simplisafe's active guard outdoor protection helps stop intruders before they get inside. Their AI powered cameras backed by live professional monitoring agents can detect suspicious activity. If someone's lurking, agents can talk to them in real time, turn on spotlights, even call the police before anything happens. Plus, there are no long term contracts or cancellation fees and monitoring plans start at around a dollar a day with a 60 day satisfaction guarantee. You've got nothing to lose. Visit simplisafe.com Tony to claim 50% off a new system with a professional monitoring plan and get your first month free. That's simplisafe.com Tony there's no safe like Simplisafe.

This is the Cars for Kids read. Now let's talk about that car you own but don't use, the one you're paying to keep registered and insured. That's taking up space out front and just sitting there doing no one any good. Let me tell you what you should do about that car. You should give Cars for Kids a call and have them take care of it for you. That's right. Just give them the info. They'll come to you as soon as the next day. They'll take that car off your hands at no cost to you. Even better, they will turn that car into funds to help kids. So visit carsforkids.org Tony that's cars with a K and then the number four. They've been around for 30 years. They've done this over a million times. Call now or head over to carsforkids.org Tony right now and get this done. That's carsforkids.org Tony remember, that's cars with.
Unknown Voice
A K. They should really put that to a jingle. Don't you think that would make it nice?
Tony Kornheiser
The phone number with actual K playing and singing? Yeah, that would be great. Not like it would get in your head, would it?
Unknown Voice
You're listening to the Tony Kornheiser show once again.
Tony Kornheiser
This is Matt Francis is Quite good. This is in between. It's a slower, more emotional piece about knowing your value and worth in a relationship, not someone you practice on until someone better comes along. I'm forever guaranteed I'm not some in between. It's very, very nice. If you and Michael find yourself in la, I'd love to treat you both to a round of nine holes at the Los Feliz par three, plus a six pack of something classy called like Keystone Lights. At least I could do for all the years of entertainment. And he says. Side note, during my time in dc, I worked the after school program at Murray for a few years, though I never crossed paths with Michael. I did, however, some have some rather uncomfortable run ins with Rahm Emanuel. That dude is scary. Also, a big shout out to Mr. Velez or Velez for hiring me. Twice. Right. You know.
Michael Wilbon
Yes.
Tony Kornheiser
And he says, eat it. Will he plays in Steve Sands. Sands is lucky because he's got the Florida part of the tour.
Michael Wilbon
This is the Commander's free agency update.
Tony Kornheiser
Yeah, no, no, we're not going to do. Are you happy so far? Are you happy with. With keeping Bobby Wagner? Right. You keep him happy with that, right?
Unknown Voice
Absolutely.
Tony Kornheiser
What about letting Alan go? Are you okay with that?
Unknown Voice
Yeah, I understand. I love Jonathan, but he was, you know, salary cap and age and injury. It's time to move along in that regard. I was kind of hoping to sneak out of Miles Garrett trade, but I guess Cleveland decided to sign another guy for a billion dollars.
Tony Kornheiser
It's. It's not that it's as bad as the Deshaun Watson move, but it'll. It'll end up as bad. He'll get hurt immediately. It'll be just as bad. And he has no principles.
Unknown Voice
The desean Watson contract is literally, literally the worst contract in the history of professional sports in North America.
Tony Kornheiser
Yeah. Yeah, that's it. Is that bad? It's even. It's worse than the Strasberg contract.
Unknown Voice
Oh, man. Don't get me started on the orchid. My brother David, my brother Michael, I mean, they adore, adore Steven Strasberg. And I do, too, for those two weeks or four weeks during the playoffs.
Tony Kornheiser
But. But what?
Unknown Voice
But soft.
Tony Kornheiser
12 innings.
Unknown Voice
I can't do soft. Soft is the worst quality you can have in a professional athlete. Is soft. Just soft.
Tony Kornheiser
Who were you working with yesterday when I tuned in? Who had the beard? Who is that? Who are you working with?
Unknown Voice
Who was I working with? The beard. Oh, Sam Saunders was there. That's Arnold Palmer's grandson.
Tony Kornheiser
Okay. I didn't know he was wearing a tie and shirt and had a beard.
Unknown Voice
Yeah, yeah, okay. He's a really nice guy. He played on the tour for a while and he's Arnold Palmer's grandson.
Tony Kornheiser
Okay. I just wanted to know because he did not look immediately recognizable to me. Are you satisfied with the outcome yesterday at Bay Hill?
Unknown Voice
Oh, sure. I mean Russell Henley is. I mean he lays in the weeds, 14th in the world coming in. He'll be in the top 10. I don't know if it came out last night or this morning, but he'll probably race up to the top 10 in the world. It's his fifth win. He's been a tough customer for a long time, Tony. He's come close, you know, in majors for like three days, not four. And I realize it's a four day event, but he is a very, very accomplished player. Made the President's cup team last year. First time for an American side for Russell, you know, beat a two time major champion in Colin Morikawa yesterday and he beat him. Colin didn't give it away. Shut 72 shot even par. And Henley made that chip in at 16 and made pars on 17 and 18 and on his way. That's, that's a great win for Russell Henley.
Tony Kornheiser
So you didn't think more of cow.
Unknown Voice
Again, do I think he gagged? Yeah, I don't think he gagged. I just, I just don't think he did anything to go out and grab the tournament. And he left the door open.
Tony Kornheiser
Right.
Unknown Voice
Russell Henley, Russell Hanley, you know, jumped right through it. He played like he had a two shot lead with five holes to play. Morikawa, he has not had a great time closing events. He's now one for five as far as 54 whole leads on the PGA Tour. And he had a three shot lead, Tony, for like, you know, what, four or five, six holes at one point yesterday. And then it was a two shot lead with five to play and he couldn't close. So do I think he gagged? Man, I don't think he closed for sure, but I don't think he gagged. I think Russell Henley just played better yesterday.
Tony Kornheiser
That's totally fair to say. And Morikawa is a two time champion, you know, major winner. Yeah. So I mean he's, he's a consequential player who hits second shots so beautifully.
Unknown Voice
I mean his iron, his iron play, Tony, is, is outrageous. Outrageous. But I will say I was on the early coverage yesterday. I didn't do the NBC side yesterday. Last week we kind of trade off back and forth and for our show, early on the Golf Channel, you made a bunker shot, you know, on the first, you know, for a birdie to take a couple, you know, take a two shot lead. But he hits iron so crisply. And yesterday he was flaring an iron right on one into that bunker. Ended up making it. Did the same thing at three, did the same thing at four. And I remember thinking, you know, if he's going to not win today, it's because his irons are not as sharp as they usually are. And they were not yesterday for sure.
Tony Kornheiser
Now we move on to the players, right? We have that. Not a major, but certainly a large, large event, right?
Michael Wilbon
Yeah.
Unknown Voice
I mean, it's like Coors versus a Coors Light. You know, it's. It's the fifth biggest event in professional golf. Is it a major? No, because you don't just declare major championships. But it's, it's a big one for sure. It's a great, great field on a great golf course. Dramatic at the end. I think it's the coolest finish on the PGA Tour. The reachable par 5, 16th, 17. You could argue back and forth whether it's the best part three in the world. I don't think there's any debate that it's the most famous because it's just visually, is so visually intimidating. And everybody knows about that hole. And then 18 is a demanding par 4 with water all down the left side. So, yeah, the players is a, is a great, great event, but it is not a major championship.
Tony Kornheiser
Scheffler has had great success there, am I correct?
Unknown Voice
Yeah. He's the only person to ever successfully defend the title. He's the two time defending champion coming in this week.
Tony Kornheiser
How does he look to you?
Unknown Voice
He's getting into form, I think, you know, he missed some putts yesterday and Saturday as well. I kind of thought that he was going to, you know, get up the leaderboard a little bit and make a run. Didn't happen for him. I think coming off of that freak injury that he had over the holidays, the kitchen knife and, you know, he didn't play for a while. It takes a little while for these guys, you know, to get back into competitive golf shape as opposed to just playing golf and practicing at home. And I think Scotty will be fine. It's a perfect golf course for him. Not that there is a golf course that's not pertinent for him, but when he is on form, which I think he will be this coming week, he's really, really tough to beat.
Tony Kornheiser
I had this very random thought the other day that everybody is in Florida and all the really good players have access to private transportation when they want it.
Unknown Voice
Right.
Tony Kornheiser
Do they go? Are they allowed to? First of all. And if they are allowed, do they go to Augusta and just play practice rounds?
Unknown Voice
Oh, yeah. This is the time of year for that. You know, like when they're in between events that are really close to each other, and the Tour tries to move around, you have the west coast swing and then you have the Florida swing, and they try to move around in a way that's easier on travel, you know, as easy as it can be in this line of work. But, yeah, they sneak up there on days like today.
Tony Kornheiser
Yes. What I.
Unknown Voice
Days like next Monday, you know, in between Ponte Vedra beach and the event that's over at Innisbrook in Tampa, you know, before going to Houston and San Antonio after the Valspar Championship next week, guys will certainly fly up there on Sunday night and play practice rounds on Monday, maybe even Tuesday as well. So, yeah, for sure. This is the time of year where you'll see a lot of players fly up to Augusta, play, and then go right back to whatever the event is on that Tuesday or Wednesday, whenever they get there.
Tony Kornheiser
How do they do that? Who do they call? You know what I mean? How does it work?
Unknown Voice
They call Jimmy Dunn. What happens is, if you are. If you are invited to the Masters. The Masters is an invitational. So if you are invited to the Masters, you receive actually, you know, an invitation. Like a. Literally an invitation. You get a little. An invitation in the mail that allows you to then be able to go play practice rounds. Now you have to play a practice round with a member, but that's not a difficult thing to do. You cannot play practice. You cannot bring your caddy, and you do have to play with a member. Now, that can be set up very easily through, you know, not only relationships like who you have with members, but also if you call the club and say, hi, I'm Ludwig Oberg, and I'd like to go play a practice round, I'm eligible to play in the Masters in April. Can I come up there next Monday and play? And they'll say, yes, and they'll pair you up with a member. But I remember Bones mackay telling me all the time when Mickelson used to go up there and when Freddie would go up there and Joe La Cava was his caddy. Freddie and Joe were not allowed, you know, to work the bag. They were allowed to walk the golf course and do their work. But they were not allowed to carry the bag because a caddy at Augusta national had to carry the bag. Yeah, Freddie and Phil, whenever it was a practice round, clearly not during the Masters. They don't do that anymore. They used to, but they don't do that anymore. But during practice rounds, the guys can play, they have to play with a member and the caddies can go, but they can't carry the bag.
Tony Kornheiser
So then the most we would ever see is two pros playing together who might be pals. Because you'd need two members, right?
Unknown Voice
Yeah. It doesn't seem like the kind of club that allows you to have a, you know, six, seven, eight, some out there, I would imagine. But yeah, I would think that the most you would have in one group would be two and two.
Tony Kornheiser
Yeah, that just, I mean, it occurred to me that the weather is good. You know, it's coming up in a month. Can you get there? If you can get there, will they let you play? They won't. There won't be some ceremonial rule that says, no, you can't play. You can.
Unknown Voice
I'll tell you an interesting story, Tony, if you have a second, I'll tell you story. Jack Nicholas, he comes on the set with us every year on live for the Masters. I'm sure we'll be chatting that week. It's one of my favorite things in the world to do. I don't do studio stuff. I'm not into that. I just do live events. But once a year they roll out the old guy like Berman on Christmas night doing, you know, Sports Center. They have me do live for the Masters and Nicklaus always comes on the set with us, which is just amazing. Jack Nicklaus, six time Masters winner in a green jacket, sitting there for like 20 or 30 minutes. It's just a fantastic thing that we get to do. It's such an honor. Anyway, I asked Jack one time about his preparation for the Masters and he said I would always take the week off before. I would fly up to Augusta on Monday and I would play practice rounds Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and then fly home on Friday, spend the weekend with the kids, going to the games, hanging out with Barbara, whatever, and then fly back to Augusta on Monday and Tuesday completely refreshed. I said, really? Why'd you go the week before? He said, because that's when they set their whole locations. People come the weekend before to get ready for the Masters and stay when they do their prep. As far as the whole location, they would do it the week before and he would also play early, late or late, early on Wednesday, on Monday and Tuesday. And then because he was Jack Nicklaus, had all the confidence in the world, he said on Wednesday and Thursday, he would always play the last tee time. You know, let's say the masters ends around 7, 7:30pm on Saturday or Sunday night. You know, there's sunlight, there's. There's air. There's all kinds of things there. So you would always play Wednesday and Thursday, the week before the Masters as late as possible, pretending that he was in the last group trying to win the Masters so he could get used to it. So you ask all the players today. Oh, wait, sorry. I asked Jack, do all the players today ever kind of get in your ear and say, hey, you know, what did you do to win? What did you do to do this? And he said, no one's ever asked. I said, what?
Tony Kornheiser
Really?
Unknown Voice
You're Jack Nicklaus.
Tony Kornheiser
Really?
Unknown Voice
Six Masters. You've won more Masters than anybody, Tony. I said, jack, get out of here. He goes, no, no one's ever asked. I'm like, what? So when that happened on the air, this is like seven or eight years ago. I'm telling you, we go to commercial break and I got 50 text messages from guys going, wait a second. Yeah, yeah, and we need to bend Jackson. I'm like, well, I mean, no, you know.
Tony Kornheiser
You know, the word is yeah.
Unknown Voice
No, he's won six of them. If you're gonna bend someone to ear, Jack's the guy to bend the ear on. So that's what Jack used to do. Some players don't do that. Some players now do that, but it's all because of Jack Nicholas.
Tony Kornheiser
It's a great story. Thank you. Thank you. Good to see you on tv. Talk to you soon.
Unknown Voice
Go, Terps.
Tony Kornheiser
Come on now. Steve Sands, boys and girls, rooting for Maryland. I'm Tony Kornheiser. We will come back with email and jingle.

Here comes Tony's mailbag.
Unknown Voice
Got your email back and your notes.
Tony Kornheiser
Here comes Tony's mailbag. Gonna read some for all you folks.
Unknown Voice
Hey, Tony, Come on, come on.
Tony Kornheiser
Hey, Tony. Read that mail now, baby. It's my favorite. That's so good. It's actually. I love so many of them. That's my favorite. Yeah. Hot pink hangover. That's my favorite.
Unknown Voice
They gotta get back together.
Tony Kornheiser
Do you want to do the Bethesda.
Unknown Voice
Bagel ad Bagel sandwiches today? Always happy about that. Just go to Bethesda Bagels.com for the location in the DC area nearest you. Then pop on in and you'll be thrilled.
Tony Kornheiser
And before we get to the mailbag, let me just say there must be some word today from my girlfriend so far away please, Mr. Postman look and see if there's a letter or letter for me I've been standing here waiting Mr. Postman, so patiently for just a card or just a letter saying she's returning home to me that's originally sung by the Marvelettes. Yes. And it's a female singing, so it's my boyfriend. So far away but those are the Beatles.
Unknown Voice
Those are the Beatles.
Tony Kornheiser
Those are the Beatles on a cover singing in a different way. That's Paul and John and John and Paul. It's just wonderful. Thanks to our guests today. Michael Wilbon, Steve Sands. Thanks as well to today's sponsors. Remember, you can listen to us on Apple podcasts Spotify and Odyssey. Get the show through Apple. Please leave us a review from our friend Patrick Sitter in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Potato chips and wine. Never thought that would be a favorite of a 1 percenter. The phrase potato chips and wine sounds like it belongs in a country song. Baby took all my money Every penny, every dime Left me with nothing but potato chips and wine. Patrick Sitter, since it's country song, should probably be cheap wine anyway. Maybe Dan Byrne will come up with something from Ed Butt. My apologies for not getting to Friday's podcast in time to weigh in on the wine pairing for your dinner with Nancy and the Socialite. I'm sure everyone ate and drank well and had a great time. Michael is right. A lighter red like your Beaujolais is an excellent pairing for hearty, fattier fish like salmon. The classic pairing, however, is salmon and Pinot Noir. Oh, I didn't know that. My go to is a lean one with minerality, usually from Oregon. Bells up and Willamette. Dammit. Valley would be perfect. The flowers that you and Michael are fond of would have worked very well too. From Ed Butt.
Michael Wilbon
Ed Big Pinot guy.
Tony Kornheiser
Yeah. More important than the food pairing is the person with whom you drink the wine. Is a quote he uses. He says, I know that's not smart and funny, but I couldn't find the one stored somewhere in my computer that says, you know what pairs well with this wine? Another glass. Very, very good. So I was happy. I'm sorry I got that late. I do have Pinot, but I didn't. Didn't know at the time. Brett Hobbs, Linton, Indiana. I cannot understand your deliberations on which wine to serve your special guests. Everyone here in Southern Indiana knows that Boone's Farm, Strawberry Hill, goes with anything from steak to possum. Your guests will be impressed. You cannot beat the price of $4.99 a bottle. I cannot believe Boone's Farm is still being made.
Unknown Voice
Have you ever.
Tony Kornheiser
50 years.
Unknown Voice
Have you ever tasted that?
Tony Kornheiser
Yes. It's the worst. It's the worst. Okay, from our friend Dave Spector. Yes. Bells up.
Michael Wilbon
Let's see at what point this is from.
Tony Kornheiser
With his listening habits, we encourage people to go to.
Unknown Voice
Is there a shipping number with this email?
Tony Kornheiser
We have a lot of satin in the Pacific Northwest. And the go to pairing is Pinot Noir. Now, if you only knew someone who made a half decent bottle of Pinot, I'll keep my ears open for you. You're right that Beaujolais is not a great wine, but it's not really made to be. It's like opening day baseball. And that the appeal is more about what it represents, celebrating the passing from one season to another rather than being a high quality product in its own right. So the $25 you paid for it sounds fair. Oh, and to the good folks at Cakebread, anytime you want to do a Pinot challenge in Oregon versus California, Taste off. Call me. I'm not hard to find. Dave Spector from Bell's Challenge. Challenge thrown. Yeah.
Michael Wilbon
Drop the hammer.
Tony Kornheiser
Yeah. Oh, God. TGL's got to finish soon, doesn't it? Playoffs Arlington, Virginia I drive a Subaru Forester and the time changed automatically. That's it. That's the email.
Unknown Voice
Yeah, but you're still driving a Subaru.
Tony Kornheiser
Okay, well, back at PGA from la, got home Wednesday, LAX to pbi, four hours. Huge tailwind. Real time, not Wilbon time. Dg. Good to know. Okay. Kyle Morricone or Morricone in Honolulu, Hawaii. Speaking of capybaras. Is that how it's pronounced? Capybaras?
Unknown Voice
Oh, yes.
Tony Kornheiser
Did you know that in Japan, for just $20Amer, for just 20American dollars, you could sit in a cafe next to a live capybara? After making a reservation and paying the entry fee of about $8, you'll be seated in a cozy cafe in which live several capybara. They will sit by you, let you pet them, and you can even buy and feed them snacks, pellets and vegetables while sipping on your coffee and tea from their website. Aren't you healed by the capybaras at the cafe? Capybara is up close in a cozy cafe. A place to provide healing Cafe Capybara Tokyo information for life.
Unknown Voice
I think we know now what shadow was missing.
Tony Kornheiser
A capybara.
Unknown Voice
Capybaras. Yeah.
Tony Kornheiser
Giant rabbit. I didn't know it was a rodent. From Scott Abercrombie. Calls himself Mike Huncho. Huntsville, Alabama. Team Spice Boys. Oh, the official professional Chili Cook off team of the Tony Kornheiser show has done it again at this year's Regional Chili cook off at St. George's island in Florida. This past weekend, Team Spice Boys made a clean sweep of the prizes, finishing 1, 2, 3. Not sure how we would have fared at the Columbia Cook off, but I'd like our chances. Yeah, it should have gotten you that first. JG Mongo Fayo was first. I, Mike Honcho, finished second with Greg the Hammer coming in third. All of us tied for first, by the way, with JG winning the tiebreaker. The win gives us automatic entry into the International Chili Society World Championships that will be held in Indianapolis this year.
Michael Wilbon
Indianapolis.
Tony Kornheiser
If any indie littles want to come out and give us a TK salute, the championships will be the weekend of October 16th to 19th. Affirmation, baby. And they sends. He sends a wonderful picture. That's good for them. Yeah.
Unknown Voice
Congrats.
Tony Kornheiser
Good for them.
Unknown Voice
Outstanding.
Tony Kornheiser
From Steve in Arlington by Way of Silver Spring and tell Big Steve, my father, to eat it. I was at the Giant the other day with my offspring and the woman to whom I'm related by marriage. I whipped out my phone because I thought you were in the aisle next to me. I saw an older gentleman purchase nine, count them, nine pints of ice cream. I knew what probably was in you because one, you would not likely be in Alexandria, Virginia. Two, you made it clear you didn't buy an extravagant amount of Haagenaz. It wasn't coffee, and four, wasn't a Safeway. Yeah, so you're right.
Unknown Voice
Yeah.
Tony Kornheiser
But you know, what can I say?
Michael Wilbon
Giant did have a deal on the. On the ice cream last week on Haagen Dazs. Yeah, I didn't know the refill for the kids.
Tony Kornheiser
Craig Cole in Parma, Idaho. What's the over under on your electric bill this month? I'm guessing it'll open at about 900. Put me down for the over. P.S. my highest in the last year was 198. I would say the over under is $800.
Unknown Voice
Hey, that's when the number is going to be set.
Tony Kornheiser
Yeah, well, we've had one slightly under and one substantially over in the last two months.
Michael Wilbon
I put it at 800 from the space heater.
Tony Kornheiser
Right, the space heater that's on, you know, 10 minutes a day. No, that's nonsense. It's the delivery charge.
Unknown Voice
And just be clear, when Carville calls in, we'll give him a different number.
Tony Kornheiser
Right, of course. Nate in London. After three years of living in the district, I finally had my first David Aldrich moment in London, England. Wall places. I was enjoying lunch with the English woman to whom I'm soon to be related by marriage at a fancy lunch spot at the Thames River. Halfway through lunch, I returned from the bathroom to see a new couple sitting at the table next to us and a startled expression on my fiance's face. After assuring my fiance that I would be cool, she informed me that the woman sat next to us was a very famous English chef and television star. Suddenly, I too recognized the woman and responded with a not so quiet the micro wave. My hushed explanation that I knew Nigella. Nigella Lawson from this podcast did not go over very well. Was it really her at the table? Wow, a wedding is April 5th in London. Hope to see you there. Well, you might invite me. Cameron in Baltimore. I have recently started watching the London based show Industry on HBO with a woman to whom I'm recently related by marriage. Sorry for not sending you a wedding invitation. It was an intimate ceremony with just immediate friends, my best friend to officiate and levitard to make me look more handsome in photos. By comparison, one of the main characters on Industry is a young woman named Harper and a big story line for her is that she lied on her resume to claim she had graduated from Binghamton. I remarked my wife, that's funny. Her name is Harper and Binghamton used to be known as Harper College. I wonder if that is intentional. I would think so, I'm adding. To which my wife replied, I'm certain not even the creator of the show knows that Binghamton used to be called Harper College. Why do you even know that? I answered, I like to be conversational on all topics because I didn't have the heart to tell her that I learned it by listening to a bald orange man for countless years. I looked up the backgrounds of the show's creative creators and there are a couple of British guys or blokes as Nigel would say, and both of them went to Oxford, so I still have no idea if it was an intentional choice or just a weird coincidence. Anyway, the show stinks even more than your show and I wouldn't recommend it even with a Binghamton connection. Hard for me to believe it's not intentional. That feels hard for me to believe, but I don't know. Mike Limerick in Indianapolis went to the Yankees Blue Jays spring training game last night. Dom Smith on One for three. Thought you'd like to know. Joseph, Cedar Park, Texas all this talk about the best bagels in Austin is filling my heart with joy. I live in Austin. I've tried almost every bagel here. I even bought a bagel from David's Doughie's on the first week ever at the Farmer's Market. I just came here to say both David's Doughies and Holy Bagel are great bagels. I think bagels are having a moment right now because you named two great quality bagel places and there are still two more. Nervous Charlie's and Williamson County Bagels were also a fun spot. Nervous Charlie's flies their dough in from New York City and both David's Doughies and Williamson county use Barton Springs Mill Flour, which is a grist mill here that uses local grain, much like George Washington's Gristmill in Mount Vernon. I applied to work at both David's Doughies and Nervous Charlie's, but alas I was not fully available for their working needs. But wish them best of luck. Great to hear this niche being filled on the show. Scott B In Lake Oswego, Oregon. Oh, I think of Lake Oswego as being in New York. Yeah, Oregon. To avoid any future digestive issues with Jesse, please keep this equation in mind. Dog plus Sriracha potato chips equals diarrhea. And from Patrick Graham.
Michael Wilbon
I love the way you say Swarwatch.
Tony Kornheiser
Yeah, Swaracha. Is that how it's pronounced?
Unknown Voice
Sriracha.
Tony Kornheiser
Okay, Patrick Graham in Catonsville, Maryland, at the beginning of Friday's episode, Tony spoke of his love of offers. Well, here is my offer. Nothing. Not even the cost of the gaming license, which I would hope you'd put up personally. That's it. That's the email. Driving your bike tight. Everyone is always do wear white. She may get woolly. Stop it. Young girls that do get woolly.
Unknown Voice
Why is that?
Tony Kornheiser
Cause of all the stress. Yeah, shut up.
H
