October 5, 2000. Roseboro, North Carolina. While his great-aunt is napping, four-year old Tristen “Buddy” Myers, a child with a history of behavioral problems and violent outbursts, disappears from the property of their rural home. Two of the family’s dogs disappear alongside Buddy and while they both resurface days later, a massive search effort fails to turn up any trace of the child. Over the years, investigators explore a number of different leads and debate whether Buddy could have been abducted or died of exposure in the woods, but there is no conclusive evidence pointing in any direction. On this week’s episode of “The Trail Went Cold”, we explore a tragic unsolved missing children’s case.
