Welcome to the trial of Diddy.
Kayla Brantley
Welcome back, everyone, to the trial of Diddy. It is Thursday, June 26, and we're currently in the middle of closing arguments for the US vs Sean Diddy Combs case. Today is day one of closing arguments, and first up is Mary Christine Slavic for the prosecution.
Luke Kenton
There is a big Combs family showing in court today in the public gallery. Diddy's twin daughters, Jesse and Delilah, were spotted this morning wearing matching white suits and black shirts. Upon seeing them, Diddy smiled and clasped his hands together in a prayer stance. Diddy's eldest daughter, Chance, is also in attendance along with two of his sons, a niece, a nephew and his mother, Janice Diddy, showed up wearing a baby blue sweater and grey pants, seemingly nervous as he rocked side to side and rubbed his hands together while standing up.
Kayla Brantley
And the judge had some very serious words for those in the courtroom on how things will go. Here's Judge Arin Subramanian. He's voiced by an actor.
Narrator
There should be no disruptions in the courtroom. Please wait for a break to leave the courtroom and turn your cell phones off when the jury comes in. I plan to fill them in on.
Luke Kenton
The schedule after the jury arrived. The judge noted that today should be shorter and Friday will last longer.

Prosecutor Slavic began her closing arguments, highlighting the violent accounts we all heard from Cassie and Jane. She said that he, quote, definitely used power, violence, and fear to get what he wanted. She she said that dozens of witnesses agreed that Diddy does not take no for an answer.
Luke Kenton
She said that it's the story of Sean Combs and the, quote, criminal enterprise he led. She said that this criminal enterprise serviced Diddy's every desire through a methodical pattern of violence and coercion. She said that he definitely, quote, counted on silence and shame to keep his victims quiet and that he thought his fame, wealth and power put him above the law.
Kayla Brantley
Slavik said that, quote, no one could stop him, and he managed to do this for two decades because he used his money and influence to cover up his crimes. She called his assistants young and eager foot soldiers and that they, quote, didn't blink an eye when asked to do whatever it took to make him happy, even if it involved facilitating a crime. Slavic went on to say that diddy was, quote, 100% behind the arson involving rapper Kid Cudi's car. You'll remember hearing Kid Cudi's testimony about how Diddy allegedly blew up his car. And we will bring you word for word dialogue of the prosecution and defense's closing arguments on Tuesday's episode. As soon as we get the transcripts as well as where we stand on getting a verdict. But for now, let's take a look back at some of the changes that have been made to the charges against Sean Combs.

All right, Luke, So bringing it back to Tuesday, the prosecution rested their case and the defense didn't bring any witnesses of their own to the table. However, before the defense rested, there was a motion for an acquittal on all counts against him. Prosecutors asked the court to deny that motion.
Luke Kenton
Yeah, Kayla. And just to recap for a second, on the original charges against Diddy, he was charged with one count of racketeering conspiracy, two charges of sex trafficking and two charges of transportation to engage in prostitution. And he's obviously pleaded not guilty to all charges.
Kayla Brantley
On Tuesday, the judge asked Diddy how he's doing and his position on taking the stand himself. This was the first time Diddy was heard speaking in court. His exchange with the judge has been voiced by an actor.
Anton Hardin
I'm doing great, your honor. I've been wanting to tell you thank you. You're doing an excellent job.
Narrator
Thank you. I appreciate it.
Kayla Brantley
The judge questioned Diddy on whether or not he has fully discussed with his attorneys the decision not to take the stand did replied emphatically that he has thoroughly spoken to his team about it. The judge wanted to confirm that Diddy understood that this decision was his and his alone. And to that Diddy responded, quote, yes, my decision, I'm making it.
Luke Kenton
Then later on on Tuesday, one of Diddy's defense lawyers Alexandra Shapiro began outlining an argument for a judgment of quistal on all counts. Now, Shapiro argued that there is no evidence proving Diddy's former chief of staff, Christina Karam, was aware of or involved in any coercion or criminal activity, aside from allegedly obtaining drugs for personal use. Shapiro specifically addressed the racketeering conspiracy charge, saying that prosecutors had failed to demonstrate that anybody conspired with Diddy to commit crimes.
Kayla Brantley
There was no court on Wednesday and instead the judge and attorneys for both sides held meetings where they finalized jury instructions. Headline making news came out of this when it was decided by the prosecution to remove some of the instructions related to the attempted kidnapping, attempted arson, aiding and abetting sex trafficking charges. The decision does not change or drop the charges brought against Diddy. Now, that's very important. There were a lot of headlines and people saying yesterday that his charges were dropped, but it actually just simplifies what the jury should focus on. So in layman's terms, the prosecution is telling the jury to focus on fewer things that they're sure prove Diddy's guilt. And after this legal win, Diddy entered the courtroom on Wednesday for the charge conference with a wide grin on his face. He even blew a kiss to an unknown woman in the public gallery.
Luke Kenton
And for our listeners who may not be familiar with the term charge conference, it's probably just worth summarizing that it's a meeting where both sides finalized the instructions for the jury. The judge opened the conference by musing about the size of the crowd of reporters who had assembled in the courtroom that day. Here is Judge Sub Rahmanian, voiced by an actor.
Narrator
This is the most people I've ever seen at a charge conference. Buckle in. I apologize for the delays in my defense. I received 200 objections to various parts of each side's proposed charge. Everything from wording changes to full frontal constitutional attacks.
Luke Kenton
As we stated before, closing arguments are beginning Thursday with the prosecution and Friday with the defence. Each side is expecting their arguments to take somewhere between four to five hours.
Kayla Brantley
And there are a number of potential convictions for Diddy and we'd like to break down the potential sentences if conviction is made. If Diddy is convicted for sex trafficking, he could face a minimum of 15 years to a maximum of life in prison. If convicted for engaging in prostitution, he could face up to 10 years in prison. If Diddy is convicted of racketeering conspiracy, he could face up to life in prison. We'll be right back after this.

So outside of court this week Daily Mail featured a bombshell exclusive with a male escort named Anton Hardin. He was actually hired by Diddy for frequent freak offs. Now Jane, who is Diddy's ex girlfriend, who testified anonymously, she testified that she had been forced to sleep with Anton. But in our exclusive sit down interview with him, he told Daily Mail that he thought he, quote, just was there for a good time with consenting adults. Anton said that when he found out about the women's claims of coercion, that the pay he received from having sex with, quote, beautiful women for Diddy now feels like, quote, blood money. Here's Anton Hardin in his own words.
Anton Hardin
I didn't know I was a third party to, you know, all this violence and coercion and I thought I was just there for a good time with consenting adults and making good money off of it. But I was approached by Jane Doe on through Instagram. Actually she reached out to me through Instagram asking me if I was in Los Angeles, I'm single and come hang out and she did mention that she had boyfriend husband that liked to watch and I was like, you know, a charge of that kind of thing. So when I would go, everything could be covered in white sheets. White sheets, white towels, red lights. She'd be like, you know, hiding. She got her, you know, everything on. So, yeah, he would direct her to apply the baby oil on herself or onto me, you know, just, you know, all very specific directions. Everything was. Yeah, mostly he'd be watching. When he would do something, it would be like after I would be finished, you know, like I would finish my thing and then he would come in, do his thing with her, and I would kind of retire to the living room, have another drink, smoke some more, and then I guess, interchange whenever they would call me back in. If I knew then what I knew now, quite frankly, I would have never participated. It's coercion. It's horrible. Yeah, I didn't know.
Luke Kenton
Anton said he was familiar with hit songs like I'll Be Missing youg and It's all about the Benjamins. When he came into Diddy's World in October 2022. However, he knew nothing about Diddy's prolific sex life when Jane messaged him. Anton, who goes by the rather racy social media handle Unholymeatobalisk, was asked in a DM if he was single. He said that he expected Jane's partner to be an older, rich sugar daddy type. But he was very surprised when Diddy answered the door and invited him in. He said it was at that point that he thought he was on an episode of the MTV prank show Punked.
Kayla Brantley
And you can listen to to that Full interview on DailyMail.com with Anton Hardin, aka Unholy Meat Obelisk. But that's it for today's episode of the Trial of Diddy. We will be back with more on Tuesday. And once again I would like to thank Luke Kenton for filling in for Hermonia.
