She claims she was drugged and sexually assaulted by Combs. I'm DailyMail.com journalist Marjorie Hernandez and over the last six months I've been investigating this incredible story and speaking to the people in the eye of the storm. Welcome to the trial of diddy. On Tuesday, September 17, Sean Diddy combs appeared in a Manhattan Federal Court. The 54 year old bad boy mogul had a decades long history of dodging major criminal allegations. Now he has to face the music regarding serious felony charges. In a 14 page indictment, prosecutors said Combs uses music empire to transport women and male prostitutes across states and forced them to perform demeaning sexual acts while he masturbated and recorded the so called freak off parties. Prosecutors said they found 1,000 bottles of baby oil and lube during the raid at the rapper's home. Manhattan U.S. attorney Damian Williams outlined the allegations during a press conference shortly before Combs appeared in court for the first time on the charges.
Damian Williams
The indictment alleges that Combs abused and exploited women and other people for years and in a variety of ways. As alleged, Combs used force, threats of force and coercion to cause victims to engage in extended sexual performances with male commercial sex workers, some of whom he transported or caused to be transported over state lines. Combs allegedly planned and controlled the sex performances which he called freak offs and he often electronically recorded them. The freak off sometimes lasted days at a time, involved multiple commercial sex workers and often involved a variety of narcotics such as ketamine, ecstasy and GHB which Combs distributed to the victims to keep them obedient and compliant as alleged. When Combs didn't get his way, he was violent and he subjected victims of physical, emotional and verbal abuse so that they would participate in the freak offs.
Marjorie Hernandez
Combs, who looked shell shocked as he faced a federal judge, pleaded not guilty but was denied bail despite his offer of a $50 million bond secured on his Miami mansion and his mother's home. One of his attorneys, Mark Agnifiglio, said all of the sexual encounters were consensual. The defense attorney acknowledged Combs had a history of drug abuse and toxic relationships, but added his client was getting treatment and therapy.

Agnifilio there talking about Cassie Ventura, who was the unnamed victim in the federal indictment. Although her name was not mentioned by prosecutors. The complaint references a CNN video of Combs assaulting Cassie at a Los Angeles Hotel in 2016. Williams said Combs bribed a hotel employee with a stack of cash to keep quiet. Cassie settled her lawsuit with Combs a day after she filed the case in November 2023, but the details in her lawsuit and the shocking video that was leaked a few weeks later opened the floodgates for more lawsuits, including one filed by former Diddy protege Dawn Richard. Attorney Lisa Bloom, known for representing sexual assault victims against celebrity defendants like Bill Cosby, is also representing Richard in the lawsuit. Bloom wrote Shard would be forced to record for days, sometimes with little to no food or bathroom breaks. The rigorous rehearsal and performance schedule were so grueling that Richard lost weight rapidly and began to develop health issues because of the stress of trying to fulfill Combs demands, Richard said. For all of her hard work, Diddy bilked her out of at least $1.8 million in unpaid wages for working over 100 dates as a member of Danity Kane. But the disturbing allegations go even further. Further, Richard said Diddy would touch her inappropriately and smacked her butt during fittings for shows. He also walked around his underwear and refused to put on clothes during meetings at his Miami mansion after the November 2009 Soul Train Awards. Richard claimed she also witnessed one of Diddy's infamous freak off parties. She said Combs arranged dozens of young women and others who look like minors to be transported to the party in Atlanta. In the lawsuit, Richard said the women arrived wearing little to no clothing and were given drugs and alcohol. Many of them appeared lethargic or passed out while Mr. Combs and his guests performed sexual acts on them. The singer also claimed while she was working with Combs in 2004-2011, she witnessed several incidents when the producer became violent with his then girlfriend and Cassie Ventura, she wrote. His persistent abuse included choking and strangling Ms. Ventura, striking her with his hands and with objects, slapping her, punching her and throwing items at her, including a scalding hot pan. On many occasions, Mr. Shard tried to intervene, offering Ms. Ventura's support and encouragement to leave Mr. Combs. Each time Mr. Combs learned of her efforts to help Ms. Ventura, he became enraged, threatening Ms. Richard's life with statements such as, you wanna die today? And I end people. While attorney Lisa Bloom said she cannot discuss details of Richard's allegations, she spoke to DailyMail.com about the culture of secrecy that exists in the entertainment industry. Here's what Lisa Blume said to me.
Lisa Bloom
Having litigated sexual harassment and assault cases for decades in all kinds of industries, my opinion is that the music industry is the worst for women. Why is that so? Because there are a lot of enablers. There's always going to be bad people in every industry, but other industries will often fire people when they're credibly accused of sexual harassment or assault or other bad treatment of people. People the music industry has really turned a blind eye to it. What we've seen in the last few years is, I think, a recognition that we don't only want accountability from high profile predators like R. Kelly or Jeffrey Epstein. We want accountability from their enablers, too. People who were complicit, people who knew, profited financially off of these guys and turned a blind eye when they should have been done something. So I represented 11 victims of Jeffrey Epstein, for example, and we were able to get them significant compensation not only against his estate, but against a bank that knew and was continuing to fund him while he was assaulting women. So in this case, we have named not only Sean Combs, but a large number of other defendants who we contend have some accountability here and we intend to bring them to justice.
Marjorie Hernandez
Two days after he was arrested, combs appeared before U.S. district Judge Andrew L. Carter Jr. His attorneys made an impassioned plea to release a disgraced music mogul, but prosecutors argued Combs was a serious flight risk. They also said Combs is already harassing victims and witnesses and feeding them false narratives. He was denied bail and placed on suicide watch his first two weeks in Brooklyn's Metropolitan Detention center. Standard for high profile individuals. As Combs waits for his day in court, more alleged victims have come forward. On 10-1-2024. Houston, Texas Attorney Tony Busby made a bombshell announcement that he will represent 120 victims in the lawsuit against Diddy. He added 25 of the alleged 120 victims are minors. The youngest nine years old.
Tony Busby
Another instance, this individual, who was nine years old at the time, was taken to an audition in New York City with Bad Boy Records. Other boys were there to audition as well. All of them were trying to land a record deal. All of them were minors. This individual was sexually abused allegedly by Sean Combs and several other people at the studio in the promise to both his parents and to him himself of getting a record deal. I want to give you a quote from a very young man who told us over the phone about his experience and all the things that happened to him, he says, allegedly at the hands of Sean Diddy Combs and his friends in the effort to try to sign a record deal. This was kind of what he was told he would have to do. His quote is, had he not been in power, I feel like I could have been something great. I quit the industry because of what Sean Combs did to me.
Marjorie Hernandez
Combs and his attorneys denied Busby's allegations in a statement to DailyMail.com Diddy's attorney, Erica Wolf, said Mr. Combs emphatically and categorically denies as false and defamatory any claims that he sexually abused anyone, including minors. Sources told DailyMail.com that since Diddy's arrest, at least five executives have left record labels amid potential backlash from cum's ongoing news legal situation. This is former LAPD detective Greg Kading on why he believes alleged victims have revived decades old sexual assault claims against Diddy after Cassie Ventura went public with her claims.
Greg Kading
So one of the things that contributed to this was New York, a year and a half or about a year, year and a half ago, had done a kind of like a moratorium on the statute of limitations for domestic violence and domestic abuse. And it allowed people who otherwise would have been out of statute to come forward and make criminal claims to have to have something looked at that previously would not have been considered just because the statute of limitations had expired. So they opened up this one year window for people to be able to come in and say, hey, even though the statute's out of date, this happened to me five years ago. And once that first person stepped through the door and made her allegations against Puffy, it empowered all of these other people to start coming forward. And that's often what we see, especially in criminal investigations, is that people are reluctant to be the first one to go through a door. But when the door's already been opened by someone else, it's much more comfortable, or they're much more willing to go through an open door than they are a closed one. And so now it's created this kind of, like, snowball effect.
Marjorie Hernandez
We spoke to legal analyst and federal defense attorney Lou Shapiro. Shapiro said alleged victims who have filed civil cases against Combs could be called to testify despite settling with the disgraced mogul. That means ex girlfriend Cassie could be a star witness in NDA.
Lou Shapiro
You're agreeing to say, if I am subpoenaed in a civil matter, then I will not testify again. If the district attorney's office or the U.S. attorney's office says this person, then that overrides an NDA.
Marjorie Hernandez
So they do still have to testify, essentially, because if they're subpoenaed, he's saying.
Lou Shapiro
I promise that I won't come out against you in another case. But that doesn't prevent the government from doing what they're going to do. And if the government for something, I have no choice.
Marjorie Hernandez
Again, you said even though, say, Cassie had signed that NDA, she still would have to be. She still could. Could be called as a witness because if she's subpoenaed.
Lou Shapiro
Right, right. Because the NDA is a contract where she's saying, I won't come forward on my own volition. But she can't prevent the government from forcing her to come forward.
Marjorie Hernandez
In terms of her as a witness, I mean, how. How, I guess detrimental could that be for Diddy, and how strong would it be for the prosecution?
Lou Shapiro
Oh, it's a very disturbing video when you watch it. You can't believe that somebody would do that to another human being. The old story, don't hit someone when they're down. She's down already on the ground. And it seems like he's not showing any remorse or any compassion for another human being. It's really difficult to watch. And if it's difficult for me as a lawyer, when I see a lot of these videos in my profession, sadly, I can't imagine what jurors would think of such a video. Shocking to the core.
Marjorie Hernandez
When asked why it took years for victims like Cassie and others to come forward, Bloom says the trauma they have experienced has no timeline, you know, for everyone.
Lisa Bloom
She has to wait until it's the right time for her to come forward. And I think one thing we've Learned from the MeToo movement is when women are victims of sexual harassment, sexual assault, whatever it is, they're never going to come forward right away. Some people take secrets like this to their grave. Other people wait 50 years, 25 years, right? So it takes time to understand, understand what happened psychologically. Some of this stuff is so shocking, it's hard for the human mind to process. Women, we typically blame ourselves, oh, if only I had done this, done that, if I hadn't gone to this thing, right? And that's of course ridiculous and it just takes time. But for dawn, seeing Cassie's case filed and reading her complaint was very inspirational to her. She knew Cassie, she knew her for years. And that was, I think, the beginning of her really understanding what had gone on, not only to Cassie, but to dawn herself.
Marjorie Hernandez
As more alleged victims come forward since Combs arrest, those who escaped his wrath are still haunted by the trauma. One of those victims spoke exclusively to DailyMail.com but wanted to remain anonymous because they are still in fear for their life. The unnamed victim said being in the presence of Sean Combs was like being around Jekyll and Hyde. During one of Diddy's parties, the source alleged they saw a young girl who looked to be in her teens at one of the rapper's mansions. To maintain their anonymity, their words are spoken by our producer Lucy.
Lucy
At first I thought she was one of his son Justin's friends because she looked so young. But no, she came out of his.
Marjorie Hernandez
Room the morning after his infamous freak off parties. Combs would often hire masseuses and have vitamin IV drips ready because many of the partygoers could barely move or were completely passed out.
Lucy
There were some women in the pool, sometimes completely naked. I thought, oh, maybe they partied too much. But no, there were times when the girl wouldn't wake up at all and they would just leave her there lounging by the pool.
Marjorie Hernandez
One of the people who was always there to clean up after Diddy was Christina Coram, Combs chief of staff.
Lucy
The source said Christina would always say, oh, she's okay. She's just drunk and hungover. That's what she would say anytime a girl wouldn't move.
Marjorie Hernandez
In his lawsuit against Diddy, producer Rodney Little Rod Jones corruption corroborated the allegations that Coram allegedly enabled and covered up after her boss's dirty deeds. In his lawsuit, Jones claimed Coram would tell her staff to retrieve drugs that Diddy demanded. Our source said it was known that a member of Combs's staff would be in charge of his medicine bag, which was always full of drugs.
Lucy
There was one time when he came down from his room and I was shocked because he looked animalistic. I didn't even recognize him. His veins were popping and his body was contorting in a way that was frightening. It just scared me.
Marjorie Hernandez
The source said they were subjected to Combs constant threats. Just like Dawn Richard, the source said they felt like they had no choice but to do as they were told.
Lucy
Whatever he wanted, he got.
Marjorie Hernandez
On the day Combs was arrested, many alleged victims said after years of waiting, they finally felt their claims were validated.
Lucy
I knew my life was always in danger, but now there is some relief. He had so much money in control it made you feel powerless. If I ever have a chance to see him, I would just want an apology. But he won't do that because he doesn't even know the word sorry.
Marjorie Hernandez
Combs arrest has also placed a spotlight on a number of Hollywood stars. Many of those who once clamored to get an invite to a Diddy party are now desperately trying to distance themselves from him and is depraved. Bacchanalian gatherings Attorney Tony Busby says Combs list of alleged enablers and co conspirators will send shockwaves through the entertainment industry.
Tony Busby
