Marjorie Hernandez

Oh, this guy is dangerous. Woman has now come forward. A legend comes of sexual assault.
Kayla Brantley
She was drugged and sexually assaulted by Combs.
Marjorie Hernandez
I'm DailyMail.com journalist Marjorie Hernandez, and over the last six months, I've been investigating this incredible story and speaking to the people in the eye of the storm. Welcome to the trial of Diddy.
Kayla Brantley
Hey, I'm Kayla Brantley, reporter at large for Daily Mail in Manhattan.
Marjorie Hernandez
And I'm Marjorie Hernandez, DailyMail.com's West coast news editor.
Kayla Brantley
And welcome to episode 17 of the trial of Diddy. Happy New Year. It's our first episode of 2025. Marjorie, you're out in LA and hello. There's all these wildfires going on. How are you? What's happening?
Marjorie Hernandez
I'm okay. Thanks for asking, Kayla. It's been quite a sleepless night. There's reports that there's been a thousand structures that have gone. They're now gone. Out in the Palisades fire. Thankfully, I'm far away from that. My family's okay, thankfully. But of course, thoughts and prayers to all the folks who are affected by the fire and the firefighters who are and all the emergency crews who are out there risking their lives to save others. Yeah, I commend them for doing that because they are doing such a great job.
Kayla Brantley
Yeah. Well, stay safe. I hope you and your family are safe. And, Marjorie, as we logged on to this call to start recording, you got an email.
Marjorie Hernandez
Yeah.
Kayla Brantley
So this is happening right now.
Marjorie Hernandez
Breaking news. Daily Mail ran a story yesterday titled jealous Diddy is raging that Luigi Mangione is getting more attention than him in their Brooklyn prison. And I just received a response from Diddy Diddy's team about the story that we had exclusively. And their response was, quote, this story is entirely false. The allegations of tantrums Jealousy over another inmate's attention and supposed grievances are wholly baseless.
Kayla Brantley
Wow. So, Marge, are you surprised by that response at all? Because I'm not.
Marjorie Hernandez
No, not at all. Obviously, Diddy is fighting for his life, so. So they are. His legal team are doing their due diligence and fighting back. So of course they would say the story is, again, quote, entirely false.
Kayla Brantley
But I do want to give props to the Daily Mail journalists who got that scoop and wrote that story. That's James Ventuska and Hermania Rodriguez Poleo. And they did a great job, that story. So, to give you guys some background, it claimed that Diddy is furious that Luigi Mangione, who's accused of killing the CEO of United Healthcare, obviously that was a huge story. They're housed in the same MDC in the same prison, and apparently Luigi is beloved by all the inmates. And Diddy's getting so much hate. And a source goes on to say that, you know, Diddy has an ego that's bigger than life even in prison. And Luigi allegedly shot someone, killed someone on camera, whereas Diddy claims that he's completely innocent and yet he's being treated poorly. And not to mention that Luigi is really getting along with these prisoners because they've been sharing their own stories, horror stories of, you know, the healthcare system in the US and how their families have been affected. So apparently that does not go over too well with Diddy behind bars.
Marjorie Hernandez
It's also worth noting here that Diddy and Mangioni share a legal team. But however, the story went on to say that they have not crossed paths in prison as Luigi remains in solitary confinement while Diddy is possibly in general population.
Kayla Brantley
Yeah, the source told Daily Mail, quote, that the two really have zero in common. So they haven't crossed paths. Why would they, really? But, you know, Brooklyn's Metropolitan Detention center also holds other high profile inmates, including Sam Bankman Fried, and at one time, it even housed Jeffrey Epstein.
Marjorie Hernandez
And as a point of order, Mangioni has pled not guilty to multiple counts of murder, including murder as an act of terrorism. Diddy is, of course, facing federal criminal charges. And in sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy, he's alleged to have orchestrated a long running scheme involving sexual abuse and exploitation. Diddy has pleaded not guilty to all the accusations, and both he and his legal team have repeatedly and strongly asserted his innocence. Now, Diddy's trial is currently scheduled for May of this year.
Kayla Brantley
Yeah, Marjorie, and this story is so good. It's like I went on Nancy Grace earlier today to speak about this story specifically, and I called it the crossover of the century in the mdc. Like, these are two of the biggest crime stories going on right now. And the fact that one, they share a legal team, two, they're sharing a prison, and now they're both in the headlines, you know, one's jealous of another. Like, it's just. You can't make this stuff up, Marge.
Marjorie Hernandez
Their attorneys are married to each other.
Kayla Brantley
Yeah, yeah. And gun yellow. And anyway, this brings us to our show today. The world is getting back to normal. Ish. I guess, after the holiday break. I hope you had a nice break, Marge.
Marjorie Hernandez
Oh, yes, restful, Restful break, thankfully.
Kayla Brantley
Good, good, good. Okay, so we have a very fun show today. We're gonna get into your thoughts, your questions and comments, the nice ones and the not so nice ones.
Marjorie Hernandez
And these are from Spotify listeners. Joyce writes, quote, if Larry Levine went in, why didn't you make it a two part episode? Now, this comes up each time we've had Larry on, and the fact is, our lawyers would have to shut us down forever if we'd even run half of what Larry said. The van is a wild card, but we love having him on. But legally, he's like a hand grenade in a petting suit, so letting him fully loose would cause carnage. But we love Larry. He's a friend of the pod. We love him.
Kayla Brantley
Chanel wrote this after our last Q and A. I was really enjoying your podcast.
Marjorie Hernandez
Uh oh. I feel like there's a but coming.
Kayla Brantley
Of course there is, but I waited a whole week for you to read through the comments. Sorry, girls, that has left me disappointed. I would prefer you to interview people close to the situation or with past interactions with Diddy. Okay, Chanel, that's a great point. We have had guests like Precious Muir, Dion Best, and Rachel Kennedy who've all found themselves in Diddy's world at times. But as the case progresses, people do naturally go quiet in preparation for a trial. But rest assured, we are always looking to book guests who have direct experience with Diddy. We always want that. Those are, you know, some of our best episodes and our favorite episodes because we get to speak to people who, you know, have had firsthand accounts, and you get to hear it from them.
Marjorie Hernandez
Definitely. And now Carlita writes, quote, I'm only updating myself from the case through this podcast because you can find a lot of misinformation on the Internet. Thanks, guys. There's no. Yeah, it's very nice. Thank you, Carlita. There's no misinformation here. And thank you for listening. Carlita.
Kayla Brantley
We have so much more coming up, but for now let's pause to take a break.
Marjorie Hernandez
Foreign welcome back and we're still here with your thoughts, comments and suggestions.
Kayla Brantley
This is another really nice one. Holly Fig writes, I think you guys are great. The trial hasn't started yet, so of course you're doing background and interviews. I know you'll be on the front line of reporting the trial when it's starts. And yes, Holly Fig, we will for sure be there every step of the way updating you guys once this does start.
Marjorie Hernandez
And in the interest of balance, J.T. oh, J.T. thurston writes, quote, this podcast is a joke and instead of accepting your criticism, you just deliver the equivalent of verbal shrug. Tone deaf, ill informed and unprofessional. Unsubscribed. Wow. Okay. Well that, that felt a bit like getting a serious telling off from a high principle like you just want to hang your head in shame.
Kayla Brantley
I'm so sorry jt.
Marjorie Hernandez
Sorry.
Kayla Brantley
I really am. Mayumi writes, wow. People are hard on you guys. I love your podcast. Thanks Mayumi. After listening to episode 12, no bail, all Jail, Paige Alicia wrote, I don't like the phrase fighting for his meaning Diddy's life. He's not. He's fighting for his freedom. That's actually a good point. I mean, yeah, is he fighting for his life or is he fighting for his freedom? But if you think about it, you know, his freedom is his life. Especially, you know, the lifestyle that Diddy lived. You know, if you're just fighting to stay in jail, you know, you're fighting for the life that you once had. And I think that that's kind of what we mean. Like he's fighting for his reputation, his legacy and the lifestyle that he had.
Marjorie Hernandez
In writing from Australia, Shaz says, quote, I feel Diddy is asking for the names of his accusers for multiple reasons and the two that come to the forefront are to approach and manipulate witnesses. As Diddy has allegedly assaulted so many people, he can't really be sure who is complaining. You know, Shaz makes some excellent points here. I'm just going to reiterate that Diddy has pleaded not guilty to all the accusations against him and both he and his legal team have repeatedly and strongly asserted his innocence.
Kayla Brantley
After our super Mini Update episode, Bethany May Patton wrote, I love the trial pods, but why do a seven minute update with a third of it being advert slash intro? I don't think that's fair on your listeners. It's hardly worth listening to. Babe hey, babe, that's honestly a fair point. Bethany and I don't think we really thought twice about it, but, you know, we wanted to get this update out ASAP and to not clash with the full episode that we had coming. So. Yeah, I hope that makes sense. A lot of times we have episodes that, you know, were already recorded and it's already in production. We have an amazing team of producers and editors. So when there was like a big update, it was like, why not just throw a quick mini one out? And as far as the ads, I don't know. We gotta keep the lights on.
Marjorie Hernandez
We gotta pay. We need to ask.
Kayla Brantley
So sorry.
Marjorie Hernandez
Joshi Washi writes, quote, marjorie is an incredibly boring and condescending style in these episodes.
Kayla Brantley
Gasp. So mean.
Marjorie Hernandez
Well, that's nice of you to let us know. Joshina. Wish you the very best of 2025. Ouch. After our Billionaire Bullies episode with Lisa Bloom, Rhonda Klein, 308, wrote, longtime fan of Lisa and her mom before her. And Rhonda's obviously talking about the amazing attorney Gloria Allred. And we're huge fans of hers and are always delighted to have Lisa on the show. Of course.
Kayla Brantley
Yeah, I think that was one of my favorite episodes. I really love all of Lisa's insight. And after that same episode, Leah Roche wrote, I've been enjoying your coverage the most out of other pods. Thanks. Lisa Bloom helped fill in gaps and answer some questions I had as a layperson. Leah says she's wondered about the settling out of court part when the crime that occurred was perpetrated upon a minor. How do federal statutes come into play here? Lee, I wonder if you're talking about, like, the statutes of limitations, like which federal statutes. But that's definitely a question we can put to Lisa Bloom or David Gelman or any of our other legal expert friends. I, and I'm sure Marge, don't want to answer and give you incorrect information.
Marjorie Hernandez
Yeah, we should ask the experts on that. And we will definitely in our next episode.
Kayla Brantley
Yeah.
Marjorie Hernandez
And after our Lomi this Christmas episode with Larry Levine, Doreen McMahon asked if we had any suspicions about a very famous person. And no, Doreen, we don't. None whatsoever.
Kayla Brantley
That's the million dollar question everyone wants to know. And Doreen is talking about the allegations that Diddy and Jay Z had sex with a minor and that there was a third famous person, a woman there watching. We don't know. And even if we kind of had an inkling, our lawyers would get very mad at us for speculating and calling someone out So I don't know. I'm sure there's like theories out there but cannot confirm that for you guys. And finally, Becca, Laura wrote about Larry. I find his comments regarding a gift from prison ridiculous. Why should inmates get anything for free? They have a better time than the homeless at this time of year. I feel like we could dive into a history of prison reform and theories about punishment versus rehabilitation here. This would actually make a really interesting episode topic. But I mean, me personally, I don't think a few bits from the prison shop that are nearing their sell by date really amount to, you know, being home with your family and having a proper Christmas. But I do think that's interesting. This could be a future episode on prisons.
Marjorie Hernandez
So for now, that's it. It's great to be back with you. And it goes without saying that this is going to be a very big year for Diddy and the people involved in this case. But for now and the foreseeable future, Diddy will be staying at the Metropolitan Detention center in Brooklyn with Luigi Mangione and Sam Bankman. Fried. If that's not a sitcom just waiting to be written, I don't know what is.
Kayla Brantley
I would definitely watch that one. And as we prepare for Diddy's trial to start in May, what else would you like us to cover? What other trials are you interested in? Let us know by email thetrialailymail.com or you can WhatsApp us at 447-7966-57512 and make sure you start your message with trial.
Marjorie Hernandez

Do follow the trial of Diddy as we will be here each week with fresh information, new insights, and some expert guests.
Kayla Brantley
Marge, I can hear the fire trucks outside.
Marjorie Hernandez
Yep, this is welcome to la. This what's happening right now in la. Lots of fires happening.
Kayla Brantley
Stay safe.
