Daddy issues aren't really about your dad. They're about the attachment wounds, emotional neglect, abandonment, control, approval-seeking, and survival patterns that follow us into every relationship we have with ourselves and others. In today's episode, Kimberly shares her own story and explores how father wounds shape our nervous system, our boundaries, our romantic relationships, our self-worth, and our ability to trust ourselves. This is an honest conversation about grief, healing, sovereignty, and what it takes to stop searching for permission and finally come home to your own truth.Because healing the father wound isn't about blaming the past. It's about reclaiming your future.

In this first episode of The True North Podcast, I share the story I've spent most of my life avoiding. Growing up in emotional neglect, surviving abuse, navigating years of hypervigilance and survival mode, and the unexpected path that eventually led me to horses, healing, and a life rooted in authenticity. This conversation is about more than my story. It's about the masks we wear to survive. The shame we carry in silence. The belief that if people knew the whole truth, they might reject us.And the freedom that becomes possible when we stop hiding. If you've ever felt disconnected from yourself, struggled with hyper independence, questioned your worth, or wondered if healing is truly possible, this episode is for you.Because your past does not define you.And no matter how far you've wandered, your inner compass has never stopped pointing home.Welcome to The True North Podcast.Follow no one. Your inner compass knows.
