Nick
What's going on everybody? Welcome back to another episode of the Vile Files Reality Recap edition. I am your host, Nick and once again we got a jam packed episode for you. Lots to get into momentarily. Susie Evans is with us to talk about I guess her breakup because like.
Dylan
Her time on paradise, which was basically.
Nick
Just to be like, hey, just guys, we dated and we're gonna break up.
Dylan
Well, we'll get it all from her.
Nick
But we'll get it all from her. Also we have Amaya Papaya and her boo Brian joining us later this episode. Excited to talk with them both. If you haven't heard our episode with Love island star Chris Seal, also known as Huda's ex, he was with us yesterday for going deeper. Great conversation with him. Stand up guy. Just really enjoyed our conversation with him and he shared really everything about his whole experience, his relationship with Huda, all the, all the tea, all the things that happened behind the scenes really gave us some great insight, especially the heart rate challenge. I was, I thought that was very interesting what he said about that. But you're gonna have to go and listen to it to figure it all out. We also have for all you the Summer I Turn pretty fans, Christopher Briney joins us to talk with us about the upcoming new season.
Dylan
For all you Conrad fans out there.
Nick
You Conrad fans out there, he is with us. And then don't forget we have a special episode for you tomorrow. Iris and Pepe are joining us and we are excited to talk to them. Are they even dating? Because like she was hanging out with tj. I don't know.
Dylan
I think it was just like a, like, oh tj, let's meet. She also hugged Austin.
Nick
So you watch. Do you, do you want to talk Love island first? I know you're a big fan or do you want to get into either way?
Amaya Papaya
I'm down if you're. If we're talking about it. I'm down to join.
Nick
Oh, my God. All right, well, we have talked about it. Honestly, we're kind of exhausted talking about it.
Dylan
I'm glad it's a lot.
Nick
Are you feeling Love island fatigue at this point?
Amaya Papaya
I am Love island fatigued, yes.
Nick
Now, is it because of just, like, the 30 episodes, or is it all the. Just, like, online. Ah, you know, what craziness?
Amaya Papaya
I think it's a mixture of the online craziness and also, I feel like there wasn't, like, a ton to root for this season. Like, last season, there was so much, like, I was so invested in the dynamics, the relationships. I was wondering what was gonna happen. And then this season, I was like, I liked people individually, but there wasn't a lot to root for is what I felt like. So I was kind of like, all right, like, I'm ready to wrap this up. I'm done.
Nick
It'll be interesting how things play out because, like, like you said last season, you had, like, the relationships.
Amaya Papaya
Yeah.
Nick
And its biggest stars were they kind of. It was shocking in the weirdest possible way. There are a lot of. Last season had reality TV stars who kind of, like, knew how to be in the limelight, you know what I'm saying? Like, they almost knew how to handle themselves and not be that messy, you know, and things like that, and then have longevity. It'll be interesting to see how this cast handles themselves.
Amaya Papaya
I don't know.
Dylan
Remember that reunion? Janae had her popcorn. She was definitely a little messy.
Nick
That's true. But they settled in.
Amaya Papaya
They settled in.
Nick
They definitely settled in. But, yeah, it'll be interesting to see, you know, so much like, you know, what it's like for reality TV stars to go online and get too deep into the weeds, into their, like, fandom and, like, get on Reddit pages, and then you see, like, reality TV stars, like, edit themselves in life on social media. They're responding to the Internet constantly. They don't even realize they're doing it, and it's. It's just a recipe for disaster. It'll be interesting to see how this group handles it because, like, obviously, I think their. Their audience is very loud and very demanding of them.
Amaya Papaya
Yeah. I was thinking about this yesterday, probably just because I'm being pulled back into this universe a bit, but I was like, I don't even know how much of what I'm experiencing is reality and how much is, like, what is catered to me online based on, like, messages I'm getting or things I'm like, articles I'm being fed. And it's like a really weird thing because it feels like the whole world and it feels like this narrative that exists. But sometimes I'm like, is this even reality?
Dylan
Or is. It's also like, sometimes you'll reach out to maybe a friend that's not in this, and you're like, hey, like, have you seen. Like, I have no idea what you're talking about. Who are these people? You know? And it's like, okay, that's not.
Amaya Papaya
Not it. Not the entire world.
Dylan
It's my for you page.
Amaya Papaya
Yeah, exactly.
Dylan
It's my algorithm.
Amaya Papaya
Understood.
Nick
I'm lucky enough to have a team now because now I'm. I'm pretty close to getting, like, completely offline because I like, it's like, we.
Dylan
Love a man with no social media.
Amaya Papaya
We love. I love you.
Christopher Briney
Blessed.
Nick
No, I said this, like, a year ago. Like, be. Having. Having, like, screen time is literally being tapped into the matrix. You're just part of a video game and you're part of, like, a different universe that is not reality. And if you, like, disconnect from that phone and engage with people, like, it's. It is not. It's not real.
Amaya Papaya
Yeah.
Nick
You know, and it's like.
Amaya Papaya
It's like we're. It's like a sim.
Nick
Like, it's becoming, like, going online and. And whether you're a public figure of a reality TV star, a celebrity, or, you know, just someone who's on their phone a lot when you're engaging in that community, or it's. Again, it's just. It's not reality. It's not like, people can just go on their phones and, like. And just say shit. You know what I'm saying? It's just so easy to type or record a video, give an opinion, go offline, go do your thing. If people aren't treating you the same online as they would in person.
Amaya Papaya
No. No one's that bold.
Dylan
No one's that bold.
Amaya Papaya
I've never had anyone come up to me, say half the things that are in my messages.
Dylan
Absolutely not.
Amaya Papaya
They would never. They would never. They could never. I dare you. Actually, it's always funny, too.
Dylan
You know what? Challenge.
Amaya Papaya
Yeah.
Nick
Because I always think people like, you're a perfect example. I would have. I would. I would guess that the average friend of yours or average fan thinks you don't get much hate.
Amaya Papaya
Yeah, for sure. Yeah. I would say. Yeah. I would say the general consensus, and I Can also acknowledge more so positive than negative. But there's still. I feel like no matter what you do, there is going to be so much negative. And of course, we are drawn to that.
Dylan
Yeah.
Amaya Papaya
More so than the 50 nice comments. You see 10 negative ones and you're like, oh, my gosh, everyone hates me.
Nick
What is your Love island hot take of the season? Whether it's a favorite character, person, or couple, you're most interested to follow a Love island conspiracy.
Dylan
I don't know.
Amaya Papaya
This is a hot take. But, like, is that normal? Like, on Love island, do they always wear heels?
Dylan
Like, so I saw Kaylor post something being like, can't believe they're doing this. Like, I would have. Like, I couldn't have done that. Like, props to them. So I don't think it was a thing last last year season. But, yeah, it definitely was this season.
Amaya Papaya
This year, I was everyone.
Nick
I wasn't paying attention to that.
Amaya Papaya
Everyone pretty much did, like, throughout the day. I was like, how are they functioning? And honestly, I was, like, questioning myself. Like, should I be wearing heels to the pool? No Liter. What is wrong with me? Yeah, that's how I was feeling for a long time. And I was like, no wonder this hasn't worked out for me.
Nick
Like, well, flip flops are kind of disgusting.
Dylan
No, I know.
Amaya Papaya
I think it's, like, barefoot or like. Or like the. Wait, wait, that's crazy.
Nick
But not great on anyone, really.
Dylan
It was the slow lift for me. I'll see myself out.
Nick
Clip that.
Dylan
Clip. Okay.
Nick
Slow motion.
Dylan
Well, speaking of, you know, just like, reality tv. Anyway.
Nick
Are you watching this Thatcher in Paradise?
Amaya Papaya
Yeah, I've seen the first three episodes. I think I'll continue. We'll see.
Nick
I got it out of the gates. Slow, slow. But things are heating up. I'm. I'm starting to enjoy it.
Dylan
Out of the gate. A little too much B roll.
Amaya Papaya
A lot of slow mobile.
Dylan
A lot of slow mobi roll.
Amaya Papaya
Yeah.
Dylan
A lot of drone shots. We're close. We're close to three hours. I did see you post about this, but your intro. So, like, were they like, hey, you're gonna get a slow mo. And then they were like, oh, it's raining and you're coming in at night, so we're just gonna hand you this umbrella. Yeah.
Amaya Papaya
I didn't get a slow mo. Even.
Dylan
You didn't.
Amaya Papaya
I know. Like, but it's.
Nick
I don't think I've ever had a slow mo. And I'm very.
Amaya Papaya
Let me hook you up. I was gonna say, I. Like, this season is a Wedding videographer's dream. The drones, the slo mo. I'm like, that's my brand. The B roll. I'm like, that is what I did for a living, so I love it on that side of it. And I'm like, let me hook you up with a little slow mo video.
Dylan
He needs one.
Amaya Papaya
Yeah, we'll get you one.
Nick
I think for our wedding video, we did.
Dylan
Okay, but you're a star, so, like, the fact that they didn't film even just, like, after you were even gone of, like, hey, let's just.
Nick
Yeah. Did the people making that TV show on. Know what a star is?
Amaya Papaya
Thanks, guys.
Nick
Cause they don't seem to know. They're just like, yeah, we're gonna send you home.
Amaya Papaya
Yeah. I definitely. I realized even watching it back, I was like, oh. Like, maybe my storyline really was just to, like, come in while Justin and Lexi were having a conversation. Obviously, I didn't know it was gonna be Justin and Lexi, but, like, I really thought, like, going there, I was super optimistic, and I was like, I'm so ready. Like, this is gonna be so fun. And that was, like, a choice to have that mindset, because I haven't been on TV in four years. Like, haven't gone on, like, you know, been on a show. And I was. I think a lot of people have this perception of, like, I. I'm never going back. I hate it. And I'm like, I literally had so much fun on the show. Like, it was the time of my life. And so I was just genuinely so excited to be back. And then. Yeah, I. I don't know. I realized, like, being there and then watching it back, I was like, oh, maybe that was really all I was, like, needed for there, which is, like, really disappointing for me. I was excited to go back and, like, just have the experience.
Nick
Did you know that Justin was going to be there?
Dylan
Yeah.
Nick
Okay. And did you guys talk before?
Amaya Papaya
Yes. We had a phone call right before Paradise.
Nick
Okay.
Dylan
Just kind of saying, we have each other's back.
Amaya Papaya
Yes. Yeah, kind of. We basically were in, like, no contact for three months before and. But we also both knew that we had been contacted right after our breakup. And I think for both of us, it was, like, probably too. We were. I think that was the sentiment for both of us, where it was like, hey, like, we just came out of a relationship probably too soon, touched base with us later, and, you know, we have the same manager. We have this similar friend group. Like, we both knew that the other was going. And I reached out and was like, hey, we should probably have a conversation. And so we just, like, kind of set boundaries of, like, what's appropriate to talk about what we don't want to talk about. Also, like, we aired out anything that we needed to air out before going. Like, we didn't. Like, we have a real world relationship. And, like, yeah, we're going on a show, but, like, I'm not interested in, like, airing that out. And so, yeah, we just kind of, like, set boundaries and said everything we needed to say. And we both acknowledge, like, there's so much love here. Like, we definitely. We're not gonna make this hell for each other because we could have, like, for sure, you know, four months fresh.
Dylan
Out of a relationship on a dating show.
Christopher Briney
What could go wrong?
Amaya Papaya
No, literally, I was way too optimistic.
Nick
But why did it all go wrong? I. I was pissed. I was. I was pissed that you both left. It seemed crazy. Like, did they just not have enough beds?
Amaya Papaya
I think it.
Nick
Was it a living situ. Honestly, it's just, like, they bring a bunch. It just seemed like they got rid of a bunch of people right before they brought in the seniors. And is it just, like, a room situation?
Amaya Papaya
I don't know if it was a room in bed or if it was, like, the amount of Goldens that were there versus us, like, that kind of equals out to what I think Old paradise was, like, the numbers. So maybe that was more so, like, oh, this is the amount of numbers that there typically are. So it had to be split between goldens and young contestant, younger at 31. Younger contestants. So I don't. I don't know exactly. But for as much as, like, people are saying, oh, they're trying to be Love Island, I'm like, this is where they should have taken a note from Love Island's book. I'm like, leave us vulnerable. Like, okay, I didn't get a rose. Keep me here for another day, and I'm vulnerable, and one person goes home of the four girls that came in. But I was like, okay, you.
Nick
Look at you producing.
Dylan
Well, it does feel like I. And I don't remember this, obviously. We haven't had Bachelor in Paradise in a minute, so I don't really remember, but I feel like there's, like, the rose ceremonies every night with, like, so many people going home. Yeah. Is it normal? Like, I felt like an old bachelor. It was like, every. Like, two episodes, three episodes, there was a rose ceremony. Is that wrong?
Nick
Well, you know, it depends on how often the air and frequencies and things like that. But it is, like, I mean, you and Justin and. And Lexi. Which Lexi had, like, on her Joey season, Correct, Right. Was it Joey season? There was like, some bats are at, like, yeah. You know, talk fandom. Like, she. She has some pole. Like, even Sam, the villain from gen season, like, he was there for four minutes, and now they. And it's just like, I'm trying to forget who.
Dylan
You know, And Zoe.
Nick
I mean, Zoe was like, Zoe, a star. Like, what? Oh, my gosh. She was comic relief. And then they bring home the. What's his fucking name? He calls himself the Barbie. Fucking. He's the politician's son. I don't fucking care about him.
Dylan
Like, it is wild.
Nick
I'd rather see if Sean has an arc.
Dylan
I mean, Sam, it kind of does feel like there's not enough producing. You know, it's like, we do need a little bit of, like, okay, maybe you weren't chosen, but, like, you're still gonna stay because we need you for the television show and give you another chance. And if it doesn't work out, then. Then, like, okay, yeah, why not take.
Nick
Jeremy up on his offer to come back? Yeah.
Amaya Papaya
Oh, I was sick to my stomach after everything that happened. I was like, no way. I'm going back. Also knowing I would be walking into a love triangle. I was like, no. I. I felt. I was really disappointed how everything went. And I was like. And also, transparently, I knew who was coming in next. I. I had figured out. Yeah. And I. And I. And. And following, like, you know, as the season goes on, like, I know who ends up coming to the beach.
Nick
And you were like, yuck.
Amaya Papaya
No, not even yuck, but if you look at the. If you look.
Nick
If you look at their faces, I'm not interested.
Amaya Papaya
Whoa.
Nick
Not my time.
Amaya Papaya
You guys really trying to be safe here. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. No, I just. No, but I just knew. I mean, if you look at, like, in general, me being down there, it's like, my ex, Justin Jonathan, who is a mutual friend of ours, not available to me. And then Andrew coming in, his best friend. His best friend like this. The Pickens were slim. Like, even for somebody who isn't me, the pickens were slim. So I. I knew what was available to me, and I was like, you know what? I really gave it my best shot. And, like. And also, it would have felt. I don't know. I don't think I could have gone back knowing that what happened with Justin, I. I just felt so bad.
Dylan
I was like, did, you know, saying no to his rose and sent him home?
Amaya Papaya
No. And that is Why? I was so sick.
Dylan
Sorry. There's just. Breaking news. Jax Taylor's not returning to season three of the Valley.
Amaya Papaya
Are they looking for someone to fill his spot? I did not get any airspace.
Dylan
That was so quick. Oh, my gosh. She's free. Her schedule's clear.
Amaya Papaya
Her schedule is suddenly clear. I don't know if you're watching Bachelor in Paradise, but I am home.
Nick
Do you think you could fill those shoes?
Amaya Papaya
No, I couldn't, actually.
Nick
I think you. Oh, my God.
Amaya Papaya
Ajax Taylor. No, I don't know.
Christopher Briney
I'd have to.
Amaya Papaya
I need a rebrand.
Dylan
He needs to focus on his recovery and Bravo future is uncertain. You know what I'm saying? So let's see through his team. Taylor has issued a statement saying he's stepping away from the Bravo show himself in order to focus on his recovery and mental health. After an incredibly challenging year and many honest conversations with my team and producers, I feel like they weren't probably that honest. I'll be stepping away from the next season of the Valley. Right now, my focus needs to be on my sobriety, my mental health and co parenting relationship. Taking this time is necessary for me to become the best version of myself, especially for us on cruise. I don't feel like you wrote that either.
Nick
That's a nicely written.
Dylan
Yeah, it's pretty good.
Nick
It's pretty good.
Dylan
I'm also like, I just, I don't know, believe that he willingly stepped down from this the way that this is just like, it was amicable. I need to focus on this and like, I'm okay with Britney still being on the show. Like, no.
Nick
Anyone who says it's amicable.
Dylan
Yeah, he was taken away in like chains, dragged by his ankle, his fingernails popped off.
Amaya Papaya
Yeah, I feel like that's my go to, though. It's amicable.
Dylan
Everything's amicable.
Amaya Papaya
Everything can be amicable.
Nick
I will say I did enjoy the Goldens more than I thought I would.
Dylan
I did too. I was a little nervous with statements and things that were released before them coming on, of course. But again, it's giving me that wholesome feeling again watching, like the two. The two couple. The couple that's like forming right now where I was just like, oh, they're.
Amaya Papaya
Being playful in the pool. It's so cute.
Nick
Cute. Question for. I don't think Natalie saw this scene. She was putting river to bed.
Amaya Papaya
Sorry.
Dylan
My mother.
Amaya Papaya
Sorry.
Dylan
Nick was busy watching TV and I was.
Nick
Where was it? Am I crazy? And I don't. Did you watch?
Amaya Papaya
I did.
Nick
I don't think you watched that.
Amaya Papaya
I Was. Yeah.
Nick
Did you think Captain Kim was just a little creepy? Little. Little handsy?
Dylan
Like, not like the massage.
Nick
I couldn't tell. She was April and she was like. She says my toes are curling.
Amaya Papaya
I did see that. But that could be like, in, like.
Nick
It was hard to tell. Honestly, I wasn't sure. Then she was like. She goes, I guess or something like that.
Dylan
Jack was, like, worried that.
Christopher Briney
Worried about it.
Dylan
And I was like, jack, you've got nothing to worry about.
Nick
Well, he's got a. He's got a briefcase full of Viagra for his boys, literally.
Dylan
I don't think he'll be giving any to Captain.
Nick
I do want to get Keith to do like a. Get some voiceover work.
Amaya Papaya
Yeah.
Dylan
Yeah. I love him.
Nick
He needs to get on Calm, the Calm app, and read like, some kind of lullaby.
Amaya Papaya
Nick will have it on repeat every night.
Nick
Yeah.
Amaya Papaya
Yes.
Nick
I need this for me. I think we should hire Keith to do something.
Dylan
Watch river sleeping anymore. We have to listen.
Amaya Papaya
Or we can have him narrate your slow motion video. This is Nick.
Dylan
Oh, my God. Genius. Wow. That's good. That's good.
Amaya Papaya
That's good stuff.
Dylan
So the thing that was really concerning for me, though, is that I was like, I always thought that it was going to be like the Goldens going for the Youngers. I didn't see Jonathan kind of coming out last minute being like, you know, well, April did say where her phone, where her room number is, so, like, maybe if to stay to get a rose. And I was like, jonathan, I didn't see this for you.
Nick
April does. I mean, at least this is how it's edited. April looks like she's trying to fuck Jonathan. And honestly, I take back all of my concerns about age gaps on the show.
Amaya Papaya
If this is the only age gap that happens, if I think it's gonna happen. Do you think they're gonna hook up? I do.
Nick
Jonathan would be a national treasure.
Dylan
Hooking up.
Nick
What?
Dylan
This is Bachelor in Paradise. They're not hooking up.
Amaya Papaya
I mean, like. I mean, it's a new paradise.
Dylan
Were you. Were you challenge the kissing booth people? The kissing.
Amaya Papaya
Curtain, curtain. I was disappointed that I wasn't there earlier, but I wasn't disappointed that I missed that.
Dylan
Yeah.
Nick
Big difference between Love island and paradise is that when you see people make out on Bachelor in Paradise, it is very uncomfortable.
Amaya Papaya
Yeah.
Dylan
Yeah.
Amaya Papaya
For the audience, I will say, on Love island, these challenges, they feel like a performance. So it's almost like. It's so crazy. I'm sure there's, like, adrenaline and there's like, slime splashing, and it's, like, wild. Where Then on the Bachelor, it was like, you walk into, like, a meditation room, and it's like, now we're gonna make out.
Dylan
It's like, here's the guy swiped right. Have an awkward conversation before.
Amaya Papaya
Hey, man.
Dylan
Ye.
Amaya Papaya
Yeah, Exactly. Yeah.
Nick
Did you get to know Cat much?
Amaya Papaya
A little bit. This was the most I've spent time with her.
Nick
How is she?
Amaya Papaya
She was great. She was so great. Like, I obviously was there very briefly, but in the quick amount of time I got with her, I thought she was fabulous. And she was, like, very warm and welcoming to me because I've only really. I think I've met her before, but I've only really gotten to know her through tv. And I was, like, a little nervous at first, just being like, oh, there's some big personalities here. But she was lovely.
Nick
Okay.
Dylan
I do like her. I feel like she's very much like, I'm crazy, and I don't give a. Yeah, yeah. I'm here to be crazy.
Amaya Papaya
And I had some conversations with her where she was like, I. With a lot of people. Dale as well. I had a conversation with Dale that was so lovely, and both of them feel like people that really want to work on themselves. And, like, Kat had made a few comments to me where she was like, you know, I need to be with somebody who maybe has their life together, maybe not life, but has their self together a little bit more. And she's like, I'm really working on myself and investing in myself, and I need someone who's okay with, like, being on that journey with me. And I was like, the self awareness, like, I love it.
Nick
Yeah.
Dylan
Okay.
Nick
Because I honestly wasn't sure if they had anything in common other than both being hot.
Amaya Papaya
I don't know if they have anything in common other than. I don't know. But then I also. Yeah, I had a conversation with Dale, and I was like. I was like, wow, there's, like, layers to this person who really just looks like a beautiful Greek God statue that's, like, walking. And I'm like, who? Like, I'm like, there's a. There's a person in there. Like, I had no idea.
Dylan
You know? Do you feel like he's kind of the, like, all star of Bachelor in Paradise a little bit? Because he's, like, a little older maybe.
Amaya Papaya
Yeah.
Dylan
Successful.
Amaya Papaya
More of an OG Employed. Yeah, yeah.
Nick
Employed equals success.
Dylan
Yeah. We'll say the quiet part out loud.
Nick
Maybe he's a multi zillionaire. I don't know. But I just, I am unaware of the. The mogul that they portray him to be and what he's been doing to mogul.
Amaya Papaya
I think he's the person that they were telling me about before going, like, they were like, there's somebody coming that we think you are going to really hit it off with. And I'm like, do tell. Like, put me in, please. They're like, he's older, he's got a real job. And I'm. And so I was.
Dylan
Yeah, you're wrecking your brain.
Nick
You're like.
Amaya Papaya
I. Because I started watching like around Hannah B. Colton's time, so I don't have like a lot of context prior and I'm assuming someone from way back. I'm like, bring in a 40 year old, please. Like someone in that range. I'm like, that is literally like. Right.
Dylan
That is that sweet spot.
Amaya Papaya
That is the sweet spot. That is that sweet spot right there.
Dylan
We like a 40 year old.
Amaya Papaya
So I literally like, they were talking up somebody. I think that's who it was. They. I made it. I thought it was multiple people, but I got there and I was like, oh, this is who they're talking about. But he's. He's occupied, you know.
Dylan
Yeah, he's busy with two.
Amaya Papaya
It was honestly a little bit of three. The Zoe mix in, you know, Ali, Joe, Zo. Yeah.
Dylan
Yeah.
Nick
I'm so sad they send Zoe home.
Amaya Papaya
Her edit was kind of iconic.
Dylan
It was really good. I mean her facial expressions, the body. The body, yada yada. Like, what is your take on Brian?
Amaya Papaya
Great television. Funny, I think. I think he's fun. Was I interested when I was there? No. Like, do I think he's gonna like get in? I don't know if he's. I don't. I don't really know what happens, to be honest. But like, I think he's gonna like get engaged, get married in the next year. Like family man. Probably not, but like. But like really funny to watch the entrance of him in the little tuk tuk. Is that what it was?
Dylan
I feel like maybe we fast forward.
Amaya Papaya
Okay. Funny as hell. Big guy in a little car. I was like hysterical. But I don't know. I don't know anything about him. I didn't have a single conversation with him other an intro, but okay, yeah.
Dylan
Did Zoe, like confide in you at all about her situation with Parisa and Brian?
Amaya Papaya
Yeah, she did. Yeah, Zoe did confide and she was not happy. And I felt like again, me being amicable queen, I'm like just listening and I'm like, I really don't have context so I'm like hearing you but like I actually don't know. I can't really validate anything is how I felt. I was like, I don't know what happened.
Dylan
Watching Jeremy's reaction to Bailey, Bailey going on the date with Andrew. What was your opinion again? So you only. You're sitting in an airport, you get a phone call.
Amaya Papaya
Oh, I was, I was actually in transport.
Dylan
Okay. So you're a liar.
Amaya Papaya
Got it. I'm a liar. Got it. I've got it.
Dylan
I'm actually literally like it sounds like you're walking down the jet bridge. I'm taking off.
Amaya Papaya
I'm actually in the air.
Dylan
So they could have u turned. They could have turned the car around.
Amaya Papaya
Yes.
Dylan
Okay.
Amaya Papaya
I literally was asleep in a transportation Zoe sitting next to me and I.
Nick
Was like 10 rings and you're like.
Dylan
I sound messed up.
Amaya Papaya
It's a four hour car ride. Let me tell you that. That's, that's the only time I got mad was when I was in that four hour car ride. But yeah, I was like, in a.
Dylan
Four hour car ride.
Amaya Papaya
I've got a great BTS video of me and the driver. We went and got dinner together. We literally stopped, got a full plated meal, like just me and him. Because Zoe stayed in the car. We hung out. I was asked, he's got two young hot sons. And I was like, he left Zoe.
Dylan
In a hot car on the side.
Amaya Papaya
Of the road in Costa Rica. Literally.
Nick
So that's neglect.
Amaya Papaya
Yeah. I was like, do you want to live or do you want to tour? I was like, I'm getting dinner with this guy. I had two dates in Costa Rica actually. I'm telling you, I was with him at all. Well, he has two hot sons. Oh, yes. And he told me about them.
Dylan
How old was he? Over 40.
Amaya Papaya
Over 40? Yeah. Out or under pressure.
Dylan
Got it. Yeah.
Amaya Papaya
But the sons were in their 20s. But I was like, I can work with this. I was just at paradise with a lot of people who are probably in that same range. What was the question?
Dylan
No. Watching Jeremy freak out and be like, I need Susie. Get her back. Where's Susie? Call Susie.
Amaya Papaya
Great television.
Nick
I think it made him look a little possessive.
Dylan
Yeah.
Nick
Well, I mean, maybe that's just how it played out.
Amaya Papaya
Maybe this is the hot take. I don't know. I think people really want to stay on the show. I did. I really wanted to be there. I was like, I.
Nick
Because it. Yeah, it didn't look. Honestly wasn't sure that's why I was so pissed because, like, you and Justin. Oh, yeah, I thought were the biggest stars, and it just kind of looked like they had you come down to be just. We dated. We broke up. It was sad.
Amaya Papaya
And I'm leaving now.
Nick
We're going. Like, we didn't make a mess on Instagram when we broke up.
Amaya Papaya
Yeah.
Dylan
So now we're here.
Nick
So now we're here.
Amaya Papaya
We're here to do it.
Nick
In case you didn't believe that we dated.
Amaya Papaya
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Nick
It was. It was.
Amaya Papaya
It was real.
Nick
It was real. And see you later.
Amaya Papaya
No, that's like. That is. I think a part of it that's disappointing for me is, like, I literally had so much fun. And it does look like I'm crying. And I've seen a lot of things. We're like, you're just crying over Justin the whole time you're there. I'm like, no, I'm crying because when I arrived, I was like, oh, I'm going home. Like, you sent me in with an umbrella. Nobody was really excited to see me.
Dylan
There really was not a lot of, like, lights on you.
Amaya Papaya
There was no. I feel like they took.
Dylan
Yeah, like, producers, producer's coming. They're in all black with a number.
Amaya Papaya
Literally, that producer with a little bit of lace on her dress is coming.
Dylan
The producer is serving.
Amaya Papaya
Yeah, okay. May I add, she looks great, but she's coming to bring us water bottles or something. Like, I realized as soon as I was being sent in, I was like, this is not what I thought it was. And I was really disappointed. And when I started crying that night, one, I'm starting the process to get my eggs frozen. I just gotten some information back. Like, before getting there. I had shared that that didn't make the cut. Not that I would too, but, like, I had shared that with Justin. I said, and he knows I'm going through that process. But then he asked me how I was doing, and I just started crying because I was like, I'm going home. Like, there's nobody here for me. Like, there is. Like, everyone felt really coupled up, even Jeremy pulling me, and then literally going and sitting with Bailey, and they're holding hands or kissing, and I'm like, I'm not that girl. Like, I'm not going. Like, you guys have something. I'm not going to push myself into that. And I was like, this just like. Like, sucks. Like, I'm not gonna be here long. And then I just started crying because I was like, I was so excited to be there. And I Feel like, yeah, the date looked fun, but I'm like, I don't think it really showed. I mean, not. And they have to chop stuff out because that's. That's a show. But, like, I don't think it really showed. Like, I really was just, like, so excited, but I didn't. I don't want to take anything from anybody else either, you know?
Dylan
Why do you feel like. I mean, how many. What. What day did you come in on?
Amaya Papaya
Third day. Like, I think it was the end. It was either the end of the fourth or the fifth day.
Dylan
Okay.
Amaya Papaya
Yeah.
Dylan
So I guess why do you feel like people were so coupled up so early?
Amaya Papaya
Yeah, I think that comes back to, like, well, I think Spencer is that way. I think Spencer is that kind of guy. He was like, I found something great. Like, I'm gonna hone in on this. Like, they hit it off. They were like match made in heaven from the get go. I think Dale and Kat, they fit well together. I mean, he was exploring things, but he had a lot going on. And I think maybe. I don't know, but I'm like, maybe Jeremy got so upset because maybe he did feel a connection with me, but felt like, oh, I've got something going. And, like, this feels like there's longevity and, like, we're both gonna be able to stay on the show for a long time. And, like, I think people really wanted to stay. And so when he's, like, realizing, oh, now I'm in jeopardy, like, do I call Susie back to see if I can?
Dylan
So do you feel like people were coupled up and, like, serious on those couples and less about, like, oh, well, let's. It's paradise. Let's keep our options open. Because they were so nervous of going home. They're like, oh, if I just stay coupled up with this one person the whole time, like, we' here the whole time.
Amaya Papaya
I think to an extent, yes. But I also think. Yeah, I think it's like a. I think it's a balance of, like, there were genuine, real connections. I think all three of those connections were pretty strong connections, and I think we'll, like, see that play out throughout the show. Like, it seems like they. They were pretty solid, but I also think it's like, okay, I got a good thing going. Like, do I just hang in there? Like, I think. I think it's a balance, Genuine connection, and also, like. Like, you know, if I mess this up, then I could go home. There's very few spots here.
Dylan
I also think that the stakes are a little too High with how quickly and how often we're having these rose ceremonies that it's like no one can genuinely feel like I have time to connect with people and meet people, because I could literally be going home if nobody wants me. Like, the way Jonathan was at the end of this episode, I was like, I don't see this for you in your personality. But he's like, yeah, I don't think she just asked me for the rose.
Amaya Papaya
But, like, you know, like, the roses.
Dylan
Are coming up, and I guess maybe I'll go for April. Like, you know what I mean? Where I'm like, I just don't think that that's a. A decision you would be making if you didn't think that there is an ultimate. You're gonna go home.
Amaya Papaya
Right.
Nick
I mean, I was entertained by the episode, though.
Amaya Papaya
That's good.
Dylan
It is entertainment.
Amaya Papaya
I'm glad I served you well.
Dylan
I guess I just.
Nick
I just were complaining a lot about the show, so I don't acknowledge that I have enjoyed it a little bit, but I'm just. I am confused. I think this show has proven over the years it needs star power.
Dylan
Yeah.
Nick
It just does. Especially when it comes to the Bachelorette and the Bachelor. It just, like, you have to have of it's stars, you know, and they're.
Dylan
Just getting rid of their stars.
Nick
Well. Or they're just not developing stars. It's just. It's just a lot of, like. I mean, I thought Zoe was going to be a star of the season. She got all this air time. She's funny, she's, you know, reactive. She has good take. She shares her opinion, and then it's just like, now she's gone.
Amaya Papaya
I think she's not afraid to. Well, I don't think she wants to look bad, but she's not afraid to look bad. And I think that is something with the Bachelor franchise where everyone's so afraid of looking bad.
Nick
And I love her, so.
Amaya Papaya
Yeah. And I think that's important to have, again, good television. I think Brian's like that. I think Zoe and Brian are equally like, I'm gonna do what I'm gonna do. And they. I don't even think they're aware of, like, that it might look bad. I think they're just doing what they would do in the real world, where I feel like a lot of people that go on TV in general now, not just the Bachelor, but it's like, oh, I could get in trouble online. Like, everyone's gonna hate me for this.
Dylan
Yeah. Which I get such a different audience I feel like who hold people on the Bachelor to such different standards than they do any other reality TV show. And I feel like that's why maybe people on Bachelor are so nervous to show that side or be a little messy or be a little raunchy or be a little. Whatever it may be.
Nick
What did you think of the secrets?
Dylan
I was waiting for someone to say they'd killed someone.
Nick
I want to know more about the.
Dylan
The.
Nick
The summer playmate. What was his name?
Dylan
Rj.
Nick
He was like, yeah. Was it a couple he said he serviced?
Amaya Papaya
Oh, yeah. Wait, did someone admit to that?
Nick
I love how he owned it. He's like, yeah.
Amaya Papaya
Wait, who was it?
Dylan
Rj.
Nick
Rj.
Dylan
Rj.
Nick
Rj.
Amaya Papaya
Oh, iconic.
Nick
He was. He was like, yeah. It was a summer I lived with this couple. I would service them when they need it. It was a lot of fun. And I was like, pop.
Dylan
Like it was an old trip that.
Christopher Briney
Needed an oil change.
Dylan
He's like. And I'd service it.
Christopher Briney
Everyone was little.
Nick
He called himself a playmate.
Amaya Papaya
Iconic behavior.
Dylan
Yeah. You could tell which secrets were written by the Goldens and which ones weren't based how it was written and the words that were used.
Nick
Yeah. Oh, Playmate. Yeah, I guess is more old school.
Dylan
Yeah, I suppose tooting and blaming it on the guy next to you.
Amaya Papaya
Definitely not old.
Nick
Actually was. That was not an oldie.
Dylan
That was not an oldie. That was Jess. Keith was the one that was cheated on a test. But then we had Kathy who won with slept with someone in their home while their partner was in another room.
Nick
Now, well, that was written as if it could been like I. I slept with someone. She was my best friend. You know what I'm saying?
Dylan
I slept with someone. We were both really tired.
Nick
It was 2pm we took a nap.
Amaya Papaya
It was at my beach house in the Hamptons.
Dylan
We were in the sun all day. You know, we were very. We had some wine.
Amaya Papaya
Yeah.
Dylan
We had some red wine. Got really sleepy.
Nick
Like it played like she cheated on her husband. But I don't. She was kind of like, yeah, how do I get into this hot tub?
Dylan
She said you didn't ask extra questions. Isn't she a widow? You think so? Kathy?
Amaya Papaya
Yeah.
Dylan
Isn't Kathy a widow?
Nick
Yeah. No, he's dead now.
Amaya Papaya
He's like, here's.
Dylan
Might as well let it get it off my chest and get a VIP suite in the process.
Amaya Papaya
I think phone her in. I feel like get the scoop. Right. Yeah. Because yeah, it could be. She did say you didn't ask other questions. Right.
Dylan
We like we needed her in an itm. In that moment of, like.
Amaya Papaya
Like, confessing what it really was like. You guys, I just wanted to go on the hot tub.
Dylan
I knew no one could beat this.
Amaya Papaya
Yeah, exactly.
Nick
Getting drunk in there.
Dylan
What about Leslie being like, let's play two truths and a lie, and she's like, usher put a lollipop in my mouth. Prince wrote a song about me. And what was the other one? And then she was like, actually, they're all true.
Amaya Papaya
Yeah. Yes, actually, they're all true.
Dylan
You just wanted to brag, ma'. Am. Kenny Rogers did something to her. Wrote a song about her.
Amaya Papaya
See what you did there?
Dylan
Yeah.
Nick
Is she a groupie?
Amaya Papaya
I. I chatted with her, and she's kind of iconic.
Dylan
I was gonna say she kind of been that long ago.
Amaya Papaya
Yeah. That's like, a new thing. He does, like, the lollipop thing at the Vegas concert, right? Yeah. Who knew where to put her to get on the. On the big cam.
Dylan
No.
Amaya Papaya
Literally hooked that up.
Dylan
It's kind of giving Taylor Swift when she puts the hat on, like, the little girl.
Amaya Papaya
Little kid. Except for his. Usher in a lollipop.
Dylan
Usher in a lollipop.
Amaya Papaya
A little freaking leaky. You know what I mean?
Dylan
Leslie's a freaky D. Yeah. I love to hear it. Her. And wasn't she the one kind of talking about, like, if there's a younger that.
Christopher Briney
She's open.
Dylan
Open to it. I'm not against it or something.
Amaya Papaya
I love that.
Nick
Yeah. If any of the golden ladies hook up with any younger man, I'm down.
Amaya Papaya
Yeah.
Dylan
Yeah. But I don't.
Nick
They deserve it.
Dylan
The older men are just.
Nick
No, absolutely not.
Dylan
Yeah. Nick was like, to see the. The older people making out in the pool. He was like, it's just. Just, you know, it's not your vibe.
Amaya Papaya
I'm not saying it's getting me going either, but. But I am like, oh.
Dylan
I'm like, we all need it.
Amaya Papaya
Yeah. You know, so it's, like, kind of cute for them.
Dylan
Yeah. I just don't want to be. They're doing it. But it's like, you know, sometimes in sex scenes, you're like, no, shh.
Amaya Papaya
Yeah.
Dylan
You know, like, you're really watching.
Amaya Papaya
Yeah.
Dylan
And this is like, oh, yeah, I'll vacuum. You know, like, now's a good time to vacuum.
Nick
Is the stove on?
Dylan
I don't like, yeah, I'll change the laundry now. Yeah. Yeah. But with, like, Nicole Kidman. I'm locked in.
Amaya Papaya
Locked in, saying, yeah, don't talk to me.
Dylan
I'm very busy.
Nick
I would Watch April and Jonathan.
Amaya Papaya
I would watch that too. I hope we do.
Dylan
Why do you feel like Jonathan and Alex couldn't get there?
Amaya Papaya
I don't know. I knew they were friends before paradise, so I don't know if it was like a friend zone situation, because I.
Dylan
Feel like, honestly, and I've. I said this on an episode prior, that obviously we've met Jonathan. We know Justin very well. They're both very funny.
Amaya Papaya
Yeah.
Dylan
Very charismatic. I feel like they're. They've got great banter. And watching them, I was like, oh, my God.
Amaya Papaya
Oh, really?
Dylan
Like, granted, Justin was with Lexi, who kind of feels maybe like, they wouldn't have a good.
Nick
Well, they. I get why they sent Lexi home. She's like, if anyone has an ex boyfriend, I. I can't do it and I cannot date you.
Dylan
I cannot be a second.
Nick
I do not want to be the other woman.
Dylan
They're like, it was 12 years ago. She's like, I don't know, it feels too soon. Are you over it? But then, like, Jonathan, he also seems very funny, and it just felt like him and Alec, maybe. Alex is just a quirky girl and she's got, you know, an interesting personality and makes things a little awkward.
Amaya Papaya
So funny. Yeah, she, I. I actually find her very entertaining to watch. Like, I think it's almost so quirky that you're like, is it an act? But then it's like, it really keeps happening and you're like, oh, my God, this is, like, real. And that to me, makes it, like, endearing. I'm like, oh, my God, she's so cute. And, like, so I. And I invited her to something recently and like, just even like, her arriving, like, her arrival, it was like, just like chaotic. And I was like, obsessed. Like, you are literally, this is like, who you are. And I love it. And it's like, yeah, it's adorable to.
Dylan
Me, but I compared her to. I think she's like, the Amaya Papaya.
Amaya Papaya
Bachelor is like the Amaya Papaya. That's so true.
Dylan
Alex. Alex Wallix.
Amaya Papaya
Alex Wallace. Maybe Ask Chat.
Dylan
GPT.
Amaya Papaya
I don't know. I can't think of one.
Nick
Well, Susie, thank you so much for coming. Of course we gotta send you, but come back more often. You're fun.
Amaya Papaya
Oh, thanks, guys.
Dylan
I love every time. And then we're like, it'll be like six months later. We're like, hey, Susie, ready again.
Amaya Papaya
Put me in. I'm down.
Nick
Where can people follow you? Find you?
Amaya Papaya
You can just follow me on Instagram. Susie C. Evans, Tick tock. Susie Was like, you know, well, before.
Dylan
We let you go, where are you and Justin at right now?
Amaya Papaya
We're on really good terms. I have talked with Justin, I've talked with Lexi. Adore them both. I think they're both really great people. And yeah, good, good vibes all around and I feel like that's kind of.
Dylan
Will you be watching, Will you be watching Rachel and Clayton on Perfect Match?
Amaya Papaya
Oh, my. Absolutely. Yes. I am so ready. I'm logged in. Yes. Oh, I've heard all the juicy tea.
Nick
I'm rooting for for Clayton.
Amaya Papaya
Yeah, Yeah. I think I.
Nick
He deserves some love.
Amaya Papaya
I know. Yeah, he does. He's been. He has been through it.
Dylan
He has, yeah.
Nick
Well, thanks for joining.
Amaya Papaya
Thank you guys for having me.
Nick
Up next, we have the queen of Love island herself, Amaya Papaya. And Brian join us. And then following them, we have the star of the summer, I Turn Pretty, Christopher Briney. And then we'll break down a little bit of O Sea reunion, which we really enjoyed. That was, that was a nice little kickoff to a season. We'll talk a little next gen, some Atlanta as well, and then send you on your way. But right now it's time for Amaya and Brian.
Dylan
We all know I love of relaxation, right? I love for things to be Zen. I love to. There's nothing better than like cleaning your house and then lighting a candle. You know what I'm saying? Nothing better. And I'm so tired of how fast candles burn and they, sometimes they, most of the time they like rarely even smell like anything. You're like, oh my God, I spent $20 on this candle and I can't even smell it when I walk in the house.
Nick
Well, listen, also, if you've ever watched the show on YouTube or seen clips, you've probably seen some big ass candles in our studio. And Big ass luxuries is the place that we get these amazing candles. And like Natalie said, they smell incredible even when they're not lit. They're so gosh darn big that you smell the scents from the candle. It's a great way of just like keeping your place smelling all the time, even when you're not home. Because obviously you wouldn't want to leave it lit, but you don't have to leave it lit because you still smell it. It's so big.
Dylan
Some people might say that candles are bad for your air quality, but not big ass luxuries. They are clean burning, all natural. They're made with coconut, soy wax, organic.
Nick
Cotton wicks, and free of a lot of Those nasty chemicals that you find and many other candles Also, you get up to a thousand hours of burning candles.
Dylan
They're such a statement piece. They double as decor. They look great on any coffee table, on any cabinet, on any wherever you're putting them. One big ass candle can replace dozens of small underwhelming ones. Head over to bigas luxuries.com and use code V to get 15% off your order. That's V I A L L. Nick
Amaya and Brian, welcome to the show. We're so excited to talk with you guys. Happy to be here.
Dylan
Yes.
Christopher Briney
Thank you for having us here.
Nick
I just want to start with Amaya. I've never, like, I've never had someone make me feel so happy by watching someone else be so happy. Like, the way. And I think that I feel like I speak for America in that sense. It's just like you had such an appreciation for each moment. I think we just live in a time where we're just all taking shit for granted and we're complaining about. So it's just like when you were talking about your connection with Brian and everyone and like, no, no, no joke. Like, you brought tears to my eyes. And I just want to thank you for that. And I just think sometimes we watch these shows and we're. And we loved the drama and shit like that, but you, you. You brought a new level of drama in the best possible way. And it was like happy drama. And it was. It was just great to see.
Christopher Briney
Thank you so much, Nick. Like, one of my passions is definitely to just be the light and someone's darkness and to turn that around upside down. So I'm happy that my energy was able to be resin resonated and recognized by so many people.
Dylan
Do you know how many things that you have said throughout this show that just have taken this world and, like, flipped it upside down?
Christopher Briney
Oh, my God. I am now catching up to my phrases, my intrusive thoughts. Sensitive, gangster, what's up? But I just really just be talking to myself and just. I be my own best friend. I just literally just say whatever comes to my mind. So, man, I guess I found out today that those are metaphors. Of course, I learned about metaphors before, but I totally forgot about it. I'm like, okay, you know what? That is my language.
Dylan
I mean, just like the. I mean, my heart rate is being tachycardic right now. Like, the way that you, you speak is just honestly so refreshing to see. It's so fun. It's like, do I ask, like, where that comes from? I guess it's just like, yeah, where.
Nick
Have you always been this witty?
Christopher Briney
Yeah. So to be honest with you, I'm a big journaler, so I like, I write down my journals every single day about my deep thoughts. And I also love poetry, so I think that's. So that comes from it too. That's the origin. And if you ever meet my father, you'll understand where the wittiness comes from, because my dad.
Nick
Be quick okay, Brian, I want to give you props, man. During the stand down business challenge, when the rest of the men decided to just unleash on Amaya, you quickly stood up and had Amaya's back. And I've said this multiple times on this show. I just don't think people fully appreciate. And this is a credit to both of you because Amaya, you did this throughout the show. You always want to feel like you're part of the group in these, in these atmospheres. Like, it's so scary to be isolated and, and to stand out and not be part of the group. But obviously in that moment, Brian, you stood up and I. You guys weren't even a couple at this point and. And had Amaya's back, so props to you. But also just like, what were you feeling in that moment? And. And why were you so compelled to speak up to Amaya? And have you always been someone who, who hasn't been a follower?
G
Yeah, I appreciate that, Nick. Honestly, yeah, I've never been a follower. I think my mom's always told me, like, speak up to what you believe in. And I have my own thoughts and my own op. I'm gonna let it be known when it's time. And at the time, it was three guys against Amaya and Amaya was standing her ground, and I just felt natural.
Brian
It's.
G
I feel like it was something regarding our culture and everything, and I just felt like I really needed to speak up. That's just how we talk.
Christopher Briney
And yeah, yeah, we love a man with his own voice, his own mind, and able to stand up for something that he feels strongly about.
Dylan
I really think, Amaya, you've given all of the women who have been told they're too much or their personality is big, like, such a voice, and you've made all of these women feel so seen. What does that feel like to you?
Christopher Briney
It feels very empowering. I feel like I'm tired of the narrative, people's emotions being viewed as a weakness. I think it's time to completely change that narrative around and let it be known that us expressing ourselves and us showing our emotions and wearing our heart honestly, these is powerful and strength. So to see that I'm able to. A lot of people that side is. It's really amazing and I'm blessed.
Dylan
You also didn't have anyone running your Instagram account. You were like one of the, I mean, the only person which, honestly, America loved. We were like, she's really there for the right reasons.
Amaya Papaya
She's like, fuck it.
Christopher Briney
Like, honestly, the Last person, like, people I called was my mom and my dad. I'm like, mom, huh? I'm not gonna kidnap. I'm in Fiji. You don't hear from me. Just know I'm not being kidnapped. But I really, it did not cross my mind. I didn't even care about it, to be honest with you. So to come and get back my phone and see the love and support that Brian and I have was. It took me away. I was gagged.
Dylan
God, I can't imagine what that would have been like. I mean, like, to have one of the highest following count, like, leaving this show and just so much support behind the two of you as a couple. I mean, Br, like, you have. Y' all have to get married. You have to get married. You have to have a million children.
Nick
No pressure. No pressure.
G
Yeah. We will get there.
Dylan
At some point. At some point.
Nick
Amaya, the moment I fell in love with you on the show, obviously, of course, was, you can fall in love with her, please. And I just want to say, say I was on the Amaya train from the jump early on, like, from the.
Dylan
From the Ace argument on the dock.
Nick
Oh, I was just like, no, she's, she's so fucking real. Like, I just so obviously, that Ace moment, one, just props to you because, again, I just, like, already you're coming in as a bombshell. Ace was such a strong personality. Like, how did you read that situation? Because I, I loved it. How, how? And I thought you were incredibly poised, but strong. And you're like, I, I, I see what's going on. You know, like, did you feel like he was, like, just maneuvering that? Did you feel like you were being played in that moment?
Christopher Briney
To be honest with you, like, yes. Like, Ace and I are, we're cool now. We already, like, call the truth. But, like, looking back at that moment, I really did not care to speak up for myself and to speak on what I think was going on. And I didn't like the way I was feeling. And I'm the type of woman that if we're together and you're making me feel a type of way or making me feel like I need to change anything about myself, I definitely would advocate for myself, especially if I have nobody else advocating for me. And I didn't care about playing it safe. I knew I put myself in multiple vulnerable positions by even speaking up my mind and cutting off the connections that I knew that wasn't right for me. But I didn't care because I went there to find my right bond and find, Find the man that's right for me. So if it was the case where me and Ace were not clicking, well, guess what? Turn off the tv baby. Like turn, switch the whole remote around.
Dylan
There was a moment where Huda had some feelings about you in the beginning when you came in. Did she end up telling you the things that she said about you? Yeah.
Christopher Briney
Now like we, like that's one of my closest friends. So like the other day we, we started laughing about what was being said and what she said about me. But you know, at the time, I guess her and Jeremiah just had a really strong connection and she was being protective with him. So.
Nick
Brian, where are you from? Where do you live?
G
I'm from Boston.
Nick
Oh, you guys are perfect. We love that train. Right away I ran in online, I ran into what I think was you like talking about dating in New York. New York, again, loved the passion, but I'd love, you know, like New York, our biggest city. Dating today is such a struggle for everyone out there. But I would just love to hear like now that you're, you know, in a relationship, what advice do you have for the people out there specifically for the ladies of things to watch, things to watch out for and dating. And just like you are someone who clearly is good at knowing your work, worth setting and communicating your boundaries and that's just not easy for a lot of people to do. So what are some like Amaya, you know, do's and don'ts of dating and in New York or just anywhere abroad.
Christopher Briney
So just always trust your intuition. That's my biggest do. Like and not even necessarily just for a woman, but for a man too. Like if you feel like something's off and something's not right, always trust and believe that our feelings are powerful and we feel them for a reason of my biggest stones is to never change yourself. Never feel like you have to settle for less. And if you're too much for somebody, guess what, tons of go find less. And to always one of my other biggest view is to just always have hope and faith. Like there's always somebody for somebody out there. And just because you're not with your person currently doesn't mean you would never be with your person. But self love is one of the biggest things to too. And if you don't completely love yourself, you will never be able to properly love somebody else.
Nick
Damn, that's amazing.
Dylan
Really good.
Nick
What was your biggest kind of like tragic New York dating story?
Christopher Briney
Oh my God, I got drunk on a date before. This is when I was like freshly 21 too much margaritas in my system. On our way back, and I started to freestyle the hard. The whole car ride, but it was for one hour. So eventually it's like, yo, shut the up. Ended up blocking me.
Dylan
How did you keep having rhymes?
Christopher Briney
First of all, you know what? He's not a fun guy to begin with, but why? My friend ended up finding his Twitter, and he posted a whole tweet saying, what will you do if you're on a date with a girl and she just starts rapping the whole day? And viral people were like, actually mean. They're like, I would jump out the car window, blah, blah, blah. But whatever. Like, now I have somebody who loves my freestyle.
Dylan
You, I mean, you're, like, good at freestyling. We saw a clip of it while you were in the villa, and you're very quick on it. You're very.
Nick
Can we. Can we drop a beat? Can we get, like, a Maya freestyle about your. About Brian.
G
The New York come out of it?
Dylan
Yeah. Do you need a beat or do you just kind of do it off Rip?
Christopher Briney
Okay. All right, let me see what I could come with. Okay. Maya and Brian sitting in the tree. You already know that we're going to be in nyc, looking crispy and clean. Fresh like Listerine. We are meant to be. This is me and this is him. Big family.
Dylan
Give her a record deal right now. I'm telling you, put her to work. Like, I just don't see. I mean, and I'm so sorry to all of your patients and your co workers. I don't see how you can go back to nursing. You're just far too talented.
Christopher Briney
Listen, I used to wrap some of my patients, too. Like, once again, I love just being the positive light in somebody's life. So I would go in the room and be like, hey, you want a quick poetry ride right now, brother? And then they'll be like, yeah.
Nick
What kind of nursing did you do? Like, what space? Were you in the hospital? Were you in the doctor's office? What were you doing?
Christopher Briney
I was in the hospital. Cardiac nurse working 12 hour shifts, and I've been a nurse since I was 21. So it's about to be, like, four years now, and. Yeah, and something I'm, like, passionate about.
Nick
Well, when I met Natalie, she was a surgical tech. Very passionate about what she did. And then I was like, oh, my. My wife's a star. And I was like, oh, I want we just. Why don't you just kind of do this with me? But, you know, all jokes aside, you know, you have this passion for nursing, but you really are like, you know, you've been discovered. And I think you bring a lot of joy and excitement to people. And this space isn't for everyone, but it really seems like. Like it's for you. Do you think you are open to exploring what possibilities come your way, even though it might. Might take you away from another passion like nursing?
Christopher Briney
Yeah, no, I'm definitely very much open. And I'm always big believer that the way you treat people is who you. How you define who you are. So as long as I keep on living with that mantra in my head and keep on reminding myself who am I is where her roots come from, then yeah, 100. I will always be open. But I definitely do see myself going back to school some sometime in the future.
Nick
What would you want to go back for?
Christopher Briney
PhD so I could become a professor in a nursing. Universally.
Nick
That's amazing. And I apologize. Brian. I didn't know. What were you doing before the show?
G
I was doing a couple of things. I was an investment accountant and I was a real estate agent.
Christopher Briney
Investor.
Nick
Okay. All right.
Dylan
So are you going back to those two?
G
Probably not. Investment accounting. Real estate investing? Hell yeah.
Nick
Okay. I was an accounting major back in the day. And then I sold.
Dylan
Oh, where are you?
G
Oh, we got something coming. It was so fun, right?
Nick
Hated it. And then, you know, and then I sold software for a while and then. And then here we are.
Dylan
Amaya, you got a DM from Fenty Beauty, right? What did. What was the dm? What did the DM say?
Christopher Briney
Definitely about working together and being open to that opportunity. So I cannot wait to get it started. Anybody who knows me knows that Rihanna has been one of my biggest persons are like women that I look up to. So this is a really huge moment for me. I love my bad girl. Riri.
Dylan
Yes. I mean, so much was happening surrounding you while you were in the villa that I'm sure you had no idea about. I mean, there was Poppy who created a whole Amaya papaya drink related to you. I like, did you just come out being like, oh, what the fuck?
Amaya Papaya
I was like, whoa.
Christopher Briney
Like, Amaya Papaya is a really. Is my name now, guys, I have when I have my Our kids papayas coming out. But the love is really amazing and I cannot wait to try that on.
Nick
My drink where I am curious because, like, obviously you guys don't know what's going on in the world and like, you know, America quickly started, you know, falling in love with you, Amaya. But at first you had a Lot of struggles, right? You had the whole ace confrontation and it was you and Austin, and then you had all these guys telling you what you were doing wrong, and it really felt like you were struggling to settle in. You know, it's just like you're always standing up for yourself and that must obviously emotionally just be very draining, which with like, I mean, obviously you're a very humble person, but truly, like, did you, like, what was that like in the moment when you realized that America with you and like, you were just like the fan favorite dude?
Christopher Briney
First of all, I felt so misunderstood for weeks at a time. Like, it was back to back and I'm like, damn, like, I'm just being myself. And nobody in the vela currently, you know, besides the girls, was resonating with that. And I'm like, what am I doing wrong? I came in with a strong cookie of conflict, and I was so scared of that cookie being crumbled. So during that challenge and seeing how much support I have, I really wanted. Can I curse?
Dylan
Yes.
Christopher Briney
I wanted to be like, fuck you all. Fuck you all. Like, this is just a true testimony to never, ever change and to never let doubt keep you in the cage.
Dylan
Brian, did you get a chance to talk to Amaya much in casa that we didn't get to see? Or when did you finally feel like you got to. To, you know, invest in this relationship with Amaya?
G
Yeah, honestly, in casa, it was kind of just a group thing. We never really chatted one on one. It was just friendship. And then once we got to the villa and after a couple days, we finally had a one on one chat and was like, oh, there's something here. Like, we had so much in common and there was a spark there. And we're like, let's see how far it takes us. Now you. Now you see how far it's taken us.
Dylan
I mean, how far is it taking y'? All? Do y' all like, what are yalls plans? Obviously I know you're so, so busy right now now, but like, do y' all have y' all made plans for what's next?
G
Yeah, we definitely want to prioritize each other and take time to ourselves. And yeah, we got our phones back, we checked on family and we're catching up. But we definitely want to take time for ourselves as well.
Christopher Briney
Yeah, like, the more I get to know Brian, the more I want to get to know him. So I'm really excited to keep on peeing in the layers back and just really, really seeing who he is for who he is.
Nick
Am I back to when you found out you were America's fan fave? Did anyone in the villa switch up a little bit and start treating you a little bit differently?
Christopher Briney
I mean, listen, you know, I'mma always keep it real. Zach was definitely. Zach with the K was definitely the main one who just, oh, let's be friends. Let's, like, actually work this out. Let's talk like, we. You know, I'm the only one that understands you. He kept on trying to provide me with every assurance, and, yeah, it was just like. Like, clearly I seen through the. I don't have the best vision, but when it came down to that, my eyes were 2020, so it was like I clocked it, and I'm going to see things classy, but definitely not with you.
Dylan
It was crazy how he went from, you know, the two of you having the conversation of you being like, hey, checking in here. He's like, no, all good, then stand on business. Business. He has a bunch of issues. And then to find out you're America's favorite and to say he understands you the best, like, clearly you didn't, because you just had a bunch of issues with me. Right?
Nick
She was.
Christopher Briney
I don't know why I intimidate so much people from just being honest with me, because it's like, I. Like, I don't. I'm not as explosive as people may seem. Like, we could have a conversation. I'm not scary. I. I don't bite.
Dylan
You said, bite him, baby.
G
I'm so bright, you gotta throw.
Christopher Briney
If I shine too bright, look the other way and buy some sunglasses.
Dylan
When you were in the hideaway, what did you mean when you said, bite him, baby?
Nick
Oh.
Christopher Briney
Shaking my feet right now.
G
Memories, y'. All Bringing back memories.
Dylan
Brian, all they showed was your foot. They said, this, man, Brian's doing gangster.
G
Going at me. They said they were throwing gang signs. I was like, it's like that.
Dylan
The item, baby.
Nick
When you. When you guys are in that moment, does it feel as surreal as most people imagine where you're like, you know, how many, like, conversations did you guys have? A bit like, is like, is this. Like, is this our lives right now? Is this really happening? Like, what does that all feel like?
G
I think we were so, like, in tune with each other, like, right away. Like, we didn't really realize anything. Like, every time we got the chance to talk, one things the of 101. Like, we made the most out of that. Like, we were just, like, so in tune until, like, the finale, we were like, oh, like, we're in the finale. Like, us too.
Christopher Briney
Like, literally when Ariana was like, and there's a grand prize, we all looked at each other like, oh, yeah, drama that goes on there. That is just like. Especially when you're being genuine and really focusing on prioritizing conversations and your connections, you. You'll be surprised how sometimes you forget you're being recorded. The cameras look like security cameras. So small.
G
Like, right away I was telling her, like, be you, and she was telling me, be me. And I think we stuck with that the whole time. And that's why people with us so hard. And it was like we would forget that there's cameras, like, we're in a show and like that. So it was like, oh, we won. And then it was like, we started, we got the Zoomies and stuff. And after it was like, hold on, there's money. We're like, oh, we forgot about that.
Dylan
Where did the Zoomies come from? Have you always been a person who gets excited and starts running?
Christopher Briney
So I like to run, like. And I always, like, run Central park or whatever. And in the vet, I wasn't able to jog. So when I have this high burst of energy, the Zoomies just come and take over. And now I got myself somebody who does marathon. So the Zoomies is no issue for him.
G
I think a lot of people don't know.
Dylan
She.
G
She'll be off like eight espresso shots too. So. Yeah, I don't even know about that. That's crazy.
Amaya Papaya
How do you.
Dylan
That's crazy that you, like, you're already you. And then to do eight espresso shots, it's like.
G
Eight espresso shots. Shorty got the Zoomies.
Amaya Papaya
You got.
Dylan
You got to get that energy out.
Christopher Briney
Yeah, release it, baby. Release it.
Dylan
Release it. It. Oh, my gosh, y' all are such a trip. What is Brian's nickname?
Christopher Briney
I like to call him Brian. Brian. Brian.
Amaya Papaya
Brian.
Christopher Briney
That's what his name is. Steve. I only film.
Nick
Does Amaya have a pet name yet?
G
Brian A pet. I call him M1 and keep it real cultural.
Nick
We love to see it. When Maya, were you both love island fans going in? Did you watch?
Christopher Briney
So to be honest, I never watch a full series or a full season, but I feel like once you spend enough time on TikTok and you put clips together together, you got the just of the show. Like, what's going on? Who has like, drama with who? Who's together? So I would watch a bunch of tick tock clips and I was like, okay. Like, this show's very Interesting. I like it.
Nick
Yeah.
G
I didn't have Tick tock until, like, a couple days ago. So on Instagram, I'd see, like, certain clips of it, and I was like, oh, shit. Like, this is a fire show.
Dylan
When did you find out that Justin Bieber was watching and loving Love Island?
Christopher Briney
Literally on live with. With. When I was with Hela. I think somebody commented. And keep in mind, that was my first Tik Tok live I ever done, like, on my own. So I. We went on. It's me and Hela. She's sitting on my lap, and somebody comments something about JB posting us or. And we're like, ain't no way. Like, what? This is crazy. We. I'm listening to JB all the time.
Dylan
It is crazy. I mean, he has his new album out. I'm sure you. There's so much that, like, you have to catch up on being gone. What is, like, the first thing? Is it a show? Is it music? Is it, like, going back to your favorite restaurants? Like, what is it that you want to do?
Christopher Briney
O me, like, I have to go back to my favorite restaurants. I have to. I mean, Fijian food is beautiful and amazing, but I miss my Dominican food. Like, I'm going to literally run to my favorite restaurant out there.
G
Yeah. The Spanish food, we was definitely missed. We talk about, like, everything.
Nick
They didn't have any good spices in the villa.
Christopher Briney
No, they did. They brought us adobo. They actually really brought us adobo. Iceberg.
G
I didn't see that, but pantry.
Dylan
Yes.
G
I didn't even know that.
Christopher Briney
Yes.
Dylan
I mean, Ryan, you weren't really cooking like that often, so I'm gonna be honest.
G
I ain't no cook. Like, I was. My job during breakfast time, when we were bringing up the girls was cut up fruit and plate everybody's plates. I wasn't really.
Dylan
You did a great job.
Nick
What are your guys's love languages?
Christopher Briney
Physical touch. Affirmation.
G
Yeah, physical touch. And I would say probably quality time.
Nick
Okay.
Christopher Briney
Yeah.
Dylan
Well, we have a fun little newlywed game if y' all want to play.
Nick
You want to play?
G
Let's do it.
Christopher Briney
Yeah, let's do it.
Dylan
I guess we'll just do. We'll. We'll ask you a question, and then we'll have Brian answer first and then Amaya answer next. Okay. What actor or actress, dead or alive, would play Amaya in a movie? Movie.
Nick
Oh, O.
G
That's tough. Probably JLo.
Amaya Papaya
Oh, okay.
Dylan
Body is te. Body is tea. Okay. Jenny from the block. All right, Amaya, who's playing Brian Orlando Bloom. Oh, okay. He's hot.
Nick
Yeah.
Dylan
Who has the worst handwriting out of the two of you?
G
Type so my handwriting looks like a five year old.
Dylan
If your partner was a wild animal, what would they be?
G
What's the wildest animal out there? That's probably who.
Nick
Honey badger. Honey badger. Ever seen those honey badger videos where they just up for him?
Christopher Briney
I would be a leopard.
G
A leopard.
Dylan
Is he fast?
Nick
Yeah. Are you fast?
Dylan
He does run marathons.
Christopher Briney
Oh, wait, yeah. Well, yeah, but his eyes. He has the eyebrows.
Amaya Papaya
Mystery. Okay, okay.
Nick
Who is most likely to steal food from each other's plate?
Christopher Briney
I think. I don't know.
Nick
I don't know.
G
That's a good question. You think you.
Christopher Briney
I think I might. Like, if you order something different, I definitely will, like, try it a bit.
G
Yeah, it's probably her you gotta try.
Dylan
What's your go to karaoke song?
Nick
Or can you guess if you don't know?
G
Like, guess hers.
Nick
Yeah, you guess. What would be her karaoke go to.
Dylan
Song was the little Violet.
Christopher Briney
Oh, that's just the way.
G
Yeah, she was singing that non stop for like a week non stop when.
Dylan
Y' all are filming that intro. So I'm guessing you heard the music, right? Yeah, yeah. So you knew that song before going into the villa.
Christopher Briney
Yeah, yeah, we definitely were aware about that. The song being the song. Like D song.
Dylan
Right.
Christopher Briney
So every single day I will wake up and even. Even though if I had a bad day the night before that was my aunt, I'm like, that's just the way you make me.
Nick
Yeah.
Christopher Briney
And then for him, definitely some. Something from Bad Bunny.
G
Yeah, for sure.
Dylan
Did you know I was in Bad Bunny's music video?
G
Were you really?
Dylan
I was Ojitos Lindos. Yeah, period. She's a video vixen.
G
I like it.
Susie Evans
It's my girl.
Dylan
Who takes the longest shower? Me. What are you doing in there?
G
That'd be.
Christopher Briney
No, Everybody, like, says that he takes our showers. I'm like, babe, you know what? You might need to give me your skincare routine because obviously there's something I'm not doing.
G
Yeah, everybody would come at me for like taking the longest shower and like that.
Nick
Damn.
G
Can I be clean and chill for a little bit?
Dylan
What is your favorite emoji?
Christopher Briney
My favorite emoji has to be the pink heart.
G
And mine is probably like the demon with the smiling one.
Nick
What can. What would each other's DJ name be?
Christopher Briney
Oh, your. Yours will be DJ Bribe.
Nick
Right?
G
DJ Papaya.
Dylan
Of course. Are you missing your twins at all?
Christopher Briney
Well, we only have Elijah.
Dylan
Oh, sorry. Are you missing Elijah?
Christopher Briney
Baby, stop this for Elijah.
Dylan
Sorry. Do you miss him?
Nick
What is he doing?
G
Elijah was crying. It was a twin. But no, it's just Elijah. Justice for Elijah for sure.
Nick
I'm curious, what is your each other's dating like ick for? You know, in a relationship for the opposite sex.
G
Mine is pretty. I hate. I don't like when people don't have manners. Like, if you don't say thank you and stuff, like, that's automatic.
Nick
Okay.
Dylan
Yeah.
Nick
What about you, Maya?
Christopher Briney
Same. Same with him. And then also just being like, what.
Nick
About like a silly exact. Like, Natalie doesn't like me looking light and feathery.
Christopher Briney
Long toenails. Obviously your girl's traumatized. She's bringing that. He doesn't have long toenails.
Amaya Papaya
Okay.
G
Make sure we get, I think bad breath. I can't. Hell no. I can't do that. We talk in here and we kiss. Hell no.
Nick
One likes stinky people. Yeah. It can be so hot. And if you stink, don't have a.
Dylan
Favorite challenge throughout the day show, I think.
Christopher Briney
Yeah, the slime one. Slime Slime challenge. Slime one.
Nick
Yeah. For both of you. Like, what TV are you big TV watchers? Do you have like a. Like, what are you guys big fans of?
Christopher Briney
For me personally, I love Gossip Girl. That is one show I could keep on rewatching. And especially since it's based in nyc. So watching it just kind of makes me feel like fellow New Yorkers, you know?
Dylan
Yeah.
G
My favorite show is Entourage. I could rewatch that like a million times. And then my favorite movie, Scarface.
Nick
Oh, hell yeah.
Amaya Papaya
Oh, yeah.
Nick
Scarface.
G
Tattoos all over me.
Nick
Oh, that's awesome. What are your favorite passions? Like, what do you love to do, like in your free time?
Christopher Briney
Yeah, so I'm very passionate of journaling. Like I mentioned before, I love to journal. I have. I have a journal like at bedside right now. I miss it so much. And just taking walks in the park, like I understand why old people, people just was sit at a random park and stare. Because that's like one of my favorite activities to do now.
Nick
Yeah.
G
And mine is running and working out. Absolutely. I feel like that changed my life in general. I got a marathon coming up in a couple months.
Susie Evans
Oh, hell yeah.
G
Just self growth. To be honest. I feel like there's always a place to improve it within yourself.
Nick
What is something about each other that you feel like in your short period of time together? Helps you guys be better people.
Christopher Briney
He definitely makes me feel safe. And whenever I do have like an anxiety episode, he Keeps me grounded. And just instead of being becoming impatient with me, he just lets me talk. And that just makes me very, very calm.
Nick
Yeah.
G
And I personally, I love screaming and being loud. And she matches my energy, if not beats my energy. Sometimes. I. I'm known for yelling in the villa, and she'll be screaming right next to me.
Dylan
There you go. I don't know if you saw this. I don't know if this happened while y' all were away, but Kylie Jenner made all these headlines because. Because someone made a TikTok being like, kylie, please give us the details on your boobs. And she commented being like this. How many cc's under the muscle? This doctor, she was like, being very much girls, girl. Being like, this is what I got. Amaya, I hope you take this as a compliment. You have the most perfect titties I've ever seen in my entire life. Are they man made or are they genetics?
Christopher Briney
Well, baby, these titties are expensive. Okay.
Dylan
What'S your concoction?
Christopher Briney
Their dream? The cc's left and right. It's so funny because I actually have my implant card and my wallet. I take it everywhere I go. But, yeah, no, these were made in Miami. Born and raised in Miami.
Dylan
350Cc. Did you go under muscle or over muscle?
Christopher Briney
I believe I went under muscle.
Dylan
Okay. Are they high profile? Mid profile?
Christopher Briney
I did. I did mid profile. Not too high. Natural look, just for my end.
Dylan
They look so good. I think they look so good. I had a baby and I lost all of my boobs. And so I'm in, like, the market. And I was like, I need to know what Maya has done immediately.
Christopher Briney
Girl, I got you.
Dylan
Thank you, God. I'm sending the note to the doctor right now.
Nick
What's next for you guys? Like, how are. I'm curious. Like, I mean, you guys seem so grounded. Like, how. How are you guys planning on moving forward and protecting what you guys have in front of you and while at the same time enjoying, you know, just this newfound celebrity and fam. Like, I'm worried for you, Amaya. Like, I'm. I'm worried that you're not gonna be able to go people watch in the park for a while. Because I feel like I've been to New York. They love their reality tv. I don't know if you're gonna buy a drink for a while, but how are you guys planning on staying grounded, staying connected, and really giving this relationship the shot we all wanted to get?
G
Yeah, I think we're just gonna keep prioritizing each other. That's the biggest thing, and that's why I asked her to be exclusive in. In the show.
Nick
And.
G
And, yeah, just spending time with each other, and obviously, we became something in the public eye. We'll keep showing, but there's also parts of us that we want to keep to ourselves and really protect it.
Christopher Briney
Yeah, for sure. Just prioritizing our quality time, doing things that we both been, like, dying to do together and. Yeah.
Dylan
Brian, I love that you say that, like, you know, protecting parts of your relationship to keep to yourself. Obviously, it's. It's very hard in the public eye. I know, like, fans want to know everything, and I think that part is so important. To have a piece of you that you don't share with the public that they don't know that is just for the two of you. I think that's really important. So I'm glad that you're doing that. Yeah. Appreciate that. What? That last ending dance scene, what was that like? Were they playing music? Were they kind of like, just dance with your person? It felt a little. We were all kind of like, oh, they're dancing. Okay.
Christopher Briney
Yeah. I'm being honest.
G
They had us doing a dance routine, and I didn't get it at all. So I said, fuck all that. I picked her up and started kissing her, and they got that part. I couldn't.
Dylan
You couldn't get the dance routine?
Christopher Briney
No, but we definitely were dancing for sure. Was moving his hips.
Dylan
He was moving his hips. He was. He was giving a little Shakira a little bit. Who do you feel like you're closest with from the cast?
Christopher Briney
For me, it would be Hala.
Nick
Yeah.
G
And for me, my brother Chris.
Nick
Yeah, we got talked to Chris yesterday, and he had nothing but great things to say about you.
G
Yeah, it's my brother.
Nick
Well, guys, we could talk for hours, but we're gonna let you go because you obviously have a busy day. We can't thank you enough for your time. I just want to say to each of you, Brian, it's been a pleasure just watching the way you move. I think you're a great role model for men out there. I think it takes real confidence to. To be with a woman who has such a bright light like Amaya does. I feel like my wife is the same in that. And, like, the fact that you let her be who she is, you know, says a lot about who you are. And you're a great example of positive masculinity. And Amaya, obviously, like, just. You're such an inspiration for people who, like, are confident in who they are. I think it's a rare quality. We don't see enough. So thank you for showing that and just, like, it's just truly been a pleasure to watch both of you. I hope we have more people like you guys on future seasons of Love island, but thank you for your time.
Christopher Briney
Thank you guys so much for having us. Pleasure meeting you all.
Nick
Likewise. All right, take care, guys. All right, bye. Bye. What sweethearts.
Dylan
They really are. God, I mean, I'm. She's such a girls girl. She gave us a concoction like, that was iconic.
Nick
No, she really is in the world of everyone claiming their girls, girls. Amaya is the real one.
Dylan
Yeah. She's like the. The epitome of being who you are. Like, there will be the people that find you, appreciate you and, like, lift you up versus all of those people trying to tell her to, like, tone it down and, like, at the last second, she found, like, her real person.
Amaya Papaya
And, like, they're so cute together.
Dylan
They're.
Nick
They're incredible. Well, we are not done giving you a great show. Up next, Christopher Briney is with us. He's from the hit show the Summer I Turn Pretty, which is out now on Amazon Prime. He is with us up next. And then following Christopher, we get into some OC a little Atlanta Housewives. And then we'll send you on your way. Brian
How are you guys doing?
Nick
I'm good, man, good. Thanks for joining us.
Brian
No, thanks for having me. I appreciate it. You guys have such a lovely little, little setup.
Dylan
Thanks. Wish you were here.
Nick
Are you. You in New York these days?
Brian
Yeah, yeah, I'm in Brooklyn right now.
Nick
Oh, hell yeah. We love Brooklyn. We met. We met in Brooklyn. We did, we did. It's where our love story started. Yeah. Oh, yeah.
Dylan
Just like. I mean, you and your girlfriend met in New York as well, right?
Brian
Yeah, we met in fi.
Nick
Dy.
Brian
A little. Maybe less romantic.
Amaya Papaya
Okay.
Dylan
A little intell. Very busy.
Nick
No.
Brian
Yeah, we met at school.
Nick
Yeah.
Dylan
Well, that's awesome. Well, congratulations, obviously. Third season of the the Summer I Turned Pretty is out. How are you feeling?
Nick
I feel good.
Brian
I feel good. I. Nobody's told me they've seen it yet, so I'm not really sure if it's out, but I feel good.
Dylan
It's exciting.
Nick
You're. You're obviously an attractive man. Did you grow up knowing that you would be a heartthrob on. On television or have you just something you fell into accidentally? Oh, it's.
Brian
Everything's an accident. I just really wanted to be able to pay rent as an actor. That was always Sort of my goal, like, in college, I was like, if I can just pay rent, I'll be happy.
Dylan
Good.
Brian
Yeah. Yeah. And I. I can pay rent these days, which is.
Dylan
Hell, yeah. Congratulations.
Brian
Stoked on that.
Dylan
Yeah. So you could probably, like, quit.
Brian
I think I'm done.
Dylan
Yeah.
Nick
No, it does say that the Conrad friends are coming to be.
Dylan
I am a Conrad fan, for the record. Yes. Right now. Very big Conrad fan.
Nick
I mean, you know, with this type of fandom, obviously, the. So many fans intensely watch this show and really, truly fall in love with your character. Does that ever get difficult, you know, with trying to play the role, like, even online as Conrad or Liva, to, like, the expectations, you know? Like, I think with reality TV stars, which we cover a lot and talk to a lot, even then, it's just like, what they see on TV isn't exactly who they are in person. Do you feel like people see you as Conrad often in the wild, or do you still feel like you can be Christopher yourself?
Brian
There's definitely some of both of it. There's for sure, like, some level of an. Of an expectation. I mean, I'm sure you guys understand, but, like, people see. They see a part of your life, you know, and obviously I'm playing a character.
Nick
Yeah.
Brian
But they do see a part of you. And I think the goal in some ways is to make that seem like that is part of your identity.
Nick
Yeah.
Brian
So I think there is, and I. I kind of understand it, but there is a tendency that people can.
Nick
Yeah.
Brian
Like, conflate you and your character and sort of expect you to be them or, like, have really strong feelings. Feelings about the world. Even though I didn't write it.
Dylan
Exactly.
Nick
Has there been in, like, a unique fan interaction that surprised you or caught you off guard ever?
Brian
There's always some. I'm never really, like, prepared for. For one.
Dylan
Has there not been? Is the question.
Nick
I'm really. I know you're eating, but can we talk?
Dylan
But Conrad, why. Why did you.
Brian
Yeah, why did. Yeah, why did you.
Dylan
Why did you make this decision and not choose her?
Amaya Papaya
And you're like, I didn't have.
Brian
Can you tell Jenny to change this or to, like, not write it like this? And I can't. I could ask her, but she wouldn't listen to me.
Dylan
If you weren't playing Conrad, do you feel like you would still be team Conrad or do you think you might be team Jeremiah?
Brian
That is a good question.
Nick
I don't know.
Brian
I was like Team Edward, and I was team. What was the. The Hunger Games one? Not PETA but, oh, my God, PETA and.
Dylan
And Josh.
Nick
Yeah. I always wanted to hook up with the Hemsworth. I was just like, you know what?
Dylan
I was rooting Gail.
Brian
That would never.
Dylan
You were team Pea.
Brian
I was not team PETA until. But like, there was something that happened at the end, honestly, maybe this speaks to it. There was something that happened at the end that sort of shift. And I forget exactly what it was, but it was in like, the third book and he. And. And he did something that was like, kind of fucked. And I was like, oh, well, I think that just speaks to you not being right for this character. So I don't know. I mean, I think I would trust Jenny's storytelling and I would probably go back and forth if I had no personal stake in it.
Dylan
It's a pretty good answer.
Nick
How does your. Your girlfriend handle you being, you know, such like, a heartthrob online? Is she pretty good with, you know, fan interactions or does it ever wear on her?
Brian
She supports me a lot and I appreciate. Appreciate her every day. I mean, I think we've both had to deal with adapting to, you know, people having opinions and people feeling like they have a piece of you. That stuff's never easy to, like, be ready for because it's such a weird thing to have people you don't know have opinions on your life.
Dylan
Yeah.
Brian
But she's perfect and amazing and grateful for the way we've learned to sort of like, discuss and deal with this.
Nick
That's awesome.
Dylan
Obviously, the Summer I Turn Pretty is your breakout role. How did you get it? How has it changed your life?
Nick
Getting it?
Brian
It all still feels like a whirlwind. Like, I. I really don't know how this happened. I was. I was working on. The first movie I ever did was this indie movie that Mary Heron directed. And I think it's great and I love it. It a lot. And I was there in. We were filming in Liverpool and I had like a chemistry read for the Summer I Turned Pretty. And then we had a table read and the same day I found out I booked the Summer I Turned Pretty.
Dylan
And wow.
Brian
I. And obviously I had no idea like, what I was signing up for. I mean, it was a straight to series to Amazon, which means they have faith in it. But I didn't know the books and I didn't know the fan base. So that was all, I don't know, sort of to what I was saying earlier. Like, I really just was stoked to be able to pay rent for the foreseeable future. And then along with it have come a lot of opportunities that I'm super grateful to be, you know, sitting here talking about it.
Nick
That's incredible. You must have been a fan of various actors. Are there any, like, role models or people that you kind of studied or you kind of emulate your work, too?
Brian
I'm inspired by so many actors. When I was a kid, kid, before I even thought about wanting to act, like, I fell in love with, like, Ferris Bueller's Day Off. So Matthew Broderick, I thought he was just.
Nick
He had it all.
Brian
You know, he was charming, he was funny. He was. It was sort of like this comedy with a little bit of action in it, and I just really loved that sort of world. I loved Back to the Future. I mean, so obviously I just wanted to be. To be the there. I mean, if I could take someone's career, like, out of their hands. Robert Patson's, I think he's. He's taken such a cool direction in the past. I mean, his whole career is just really, like, admirable, and I think he does what he wants to do these days.
Nick
I mean, awesome. That's a. That's a great choice. Obviously, he got his start in the Twilight Saga. You know, fan, you know, very kind of younger audience, know, a book following before, very similar to exactly what you're doing. And so, like, yeah, that's a very interesting. You know, very, very smart.
Brian
He just works with such cool directors and such cool writers, and it's. It's a cool life, man.
Amaya Papaya
Obviously.
Dylan
Without giving any spoilers, are there any episodes that you're particularly excited about airing? Any, like, things that you can tease throughout the season?
Brian
If I'm being honest, I can't remember what numbers correspond with what we did.
Dylan
Perfect.
Brian
But, I mean, there's some work that I. That I walked away feeling proud of. Um, and I think I don't always feel immediately proud of my work. I get in my head about it a lot, and I. I don't like to really watch myself. And so to walk away feeling like I had done my job well was a good feeling. And I think I. I can't watch them now because I'll probably just talk myself into thinking I was wrong about it.
Nick
But for. For the fans out there, do you think after this season wraps, do you think the Conra will be stronger? Or do you. Or. And. And very invested in you, or do you feel like some of the Kadran fans might be a little frustrated with Conrad?
Brian
That's a good question. I'd like to hope that there's some of both.
Nick
Okay.
Brian
Because I think everybody ends up feeling the exact same way or pushing the exact same direction. Then, you know, what are we. What are we making it for? Like, where's the discourse? Where's the dialogue? Dialogue.
Dylan
That's true.
Brian
So I hope that, you know, these are characters doing human things, and some things are positive and some are negative, and people will either love or hate it.
Dylan
If there's an opportunity for you to do a biopic, is there any certain person that you would feel drawn to do?
Brian
I think about this all the time.
Nick
You know what? River Phoenix.
Brian
Oh, I would. That would be sick. I've thought about that one for something kind of.
Nick
I could. Can you see it? I can kind of see a little river for.
Amaya Papaya
Oh, my God.
Dylan
There you are.
Brian
I didn't realize. I don't clean my things very frequently.
Amaya Papaya
What's on there?
Dylan
Like peanut butter.
Nick
I would.
Brian
Yeah, yeah, butter. It's tough because I'm not really. I don't consider myself super musical, but whenever I think of a biopic, I'm like, I want to do, like, Kurt Cobain. Oh, wow, That's a good one. Like, I think Liam Gallagher is one of the most interesting characters in the. The world.
Nick
That's good. You just have to kind of scream.
Brian
Yeah, I know.
Dylan
Affect your scream.
Brian
I don't think they should hire an American to do that if they do. But fun.
Nick
Fun fact. My uncle was in a band with the guy who produced Nirvana. Nevermind.
Brian
No way. That's so cool. What was the band?
Nick
It was called Firestone, I think. And then Butch Davis created the Garage Garbage and he moved, and then he also produced Nirvana. Nevermind.
Dylan
It's a fun fact.
Brian
That is so cool.
Nick
Fire Town. Fire Town.
Amaya Papaya
He's like, oh, I love Fire Town.
Nick
They did have a video on mtv. Like, they, you know, and then they. My uncle started a family.
Brian
Real stuff.
Nick
Yeah.
Dylan
Are you. Are you able to do any accents?
Brian
I mean, it depends on who you ask. I think I can do it, but.
Nick
If so, if you ask, you guys go British now. They can go British. Can you? British?
Brian
I mean, what kind of British are we talking?
Dylan
It's so true. There's so many different.
Nick
Give us your best.
Amaya Papaya
Oh, my God.
Brian
The way I do it is like, I. I have to have an in phrase. Like, I have to have a phrase that I can say to get into it. What would it be for? Like, British? No, I'm just gonna embarrass the. Out of myself. Irish is really fun to try and do.
Dylan
I feel like Irish Is so hard. All right.
Brian
It's so hard.
Nick
It's hard.
Brian
My roommate did a play and he has a really good Northern Irish. Irish accent.
Dylan
Yeah.
Brian
Like, it's very, like.
Nick
Right.
Brian
And technical. But I also think if I did that, if I even tried to do that now, I would offend the Irish.
Dylan
Right, right, right, right. Yeah. We can't say tomorrow night on Love Island.
Nick
You say tomorrow night. Another bombshell enters the villa.
Brian
Oh, it's so. I can hear it. I can hear my girlfriend's watch. She watches.
Dylan
I can hear it. I can hear it. I can hear it.
Amaya Papaya
I've heard it every night for the last three months.
Brian
I love the. It's like, like Pavlov's dogs. Like the, the. The, like scratch before they come back into the episode.
Dylan
Sim.
Brian
Yeah, exactly.
Dylan
Yeah.
Brian
I feel like it's literally training everybody to, like, look back at the tv.
Nick
Are you one of those boyfriends who, like, his girlfriend's watching it and you're kind of in the background and, like, being like, what are you watching? But also, like, giving your takes when you see stuff?
Brian
Yeah, yeah, for sure. I'll tune in and tune out and I'll be like, I hate this guy. Fucking hate this guy.
Nick
Is there anyone you were a fan of or can you say who you weren't?
Brian
I don't know names like that. The season finish.
Nick
It just wrapped.
Dylan
Yeah, it just wraps.
Brian
I didn't watch the finale, but.
Dylan
Well, we do have a little fun game we thought would be fun to play with you.
Nick
Real easy.
Dylan
The summer I turned pretty and Love Island. You know, it's called the summer you learned how to be a reality TV star. Okay, so we're going to put you in some situations. Some of our reality TV stars have been in recently, and you tell us how you would handle the season situation.
Brian
Okay, cool.
Dylan
Fun, easy. So your girlfriend won't cuddle with you in bed because she's tired and wants to sleep. Do you let her sleep or do you start a fight?
Brian
I let her sleep.
Dylan
Such a gentleman.
Nick
Wouldn't you know it? People on TV have chosen to do different things.
Dylan
That's pretty wild. It's crazy. You are about to propose to your girlfriend, but they haven't showered in a while. How would you convince them to take a shower? Ooh, just start being like, something smells.
Brian
You're, like, as subtle as I get. No, I mean, she's so hygienic. Also, I feel like posing. She would know so far in advance. Like, I think it would be planned enough to where that would never Happen.
Dylan
She would have clues. I don't know.
Brian
Come on, let's go take a shower.
Amaya Papaya
This will be fun together.
Dylan
It might be fun to take a shower together today for the first time out. What would you make your girlfriend for breakfast to win her heart using only Trader Joe's products? Since you were a previous Trader Joe's employee.
Brian
What a good question. I mean, I want to make it Trader Joe's specific. I mean, I would make her like a avocado toast.
Nick
You know what? You know what? We.
Brian
Maybe we would do like some breakfast tacos, right?
Amaya Papaya
Ooh.
Brian
And some, like, flour tortillas and heat them up on the stove and sprinkle on some like, was the chili lime seasoning and put some of that on.
Dylan
Are you having a side of hash brown?
Amaya Papaya
Yeah.
Nick
There it is.
Susie Evans
There's the Trader Joe's.
Dylan
Yeah.
Nick
Yeah.
Brian
One of the frozen hash browns were thrown in there.
Nick
Did you ever have to. Did you get good at flirting with the customers? Because I've heard that's their thing.
Brian
I was always taught to be nice to the customer. I never really, really thought of it as flirting, but I did.
Nick
I had.
Brian
I did meet some, like, cool people. Like the dude who did my headshots for college. I just met him because he was checking out and we were, like, chatting.
Dylan
And the person behind you is like, hey. So actually, I have to go.
Nick
I think it's so cool that you worked at Trader Joe's. One of my employees, I hired him specifically because he told me he was working at Trader Joe's. I didn't even know where he went to college. Turns out it was uc.
Brian
So many people that were like, I couldn't even get a second. I couldn't even get an interview.
Nick
I don't know what I did.
Brian
I just look for, like, genuine people. I don't know.
Dylan
You're like, it's telling. Why you didn't get that interview.
Brian
Right? I didn't want to say that.
Amaya Papaya
Right.
Dylan
Okay. Okay. How would you do in a twerk off judged by Megan Thee stallion.
Brian
I'd be first eliminated. I wouldn't even qualify, I don't think.
Amaya Papaya
Oh, no.
Nick
Chris doesn't have any back. You know, I have no ass. Your best friend went on a date with your little sister and texted you that he wanted to have sex with her. How do you feel? What would you do?
Brian
This is a real thing that happened.
Dylan
Yep. Next gen nyc.
Nick
They live in New York. Yeah.
Brian
We're throwing hands.
Amaya Papaya
I don't know.
Brian
Okay, ring. I don't know.
Dylan
You go to the bathroom with someone you just met that night and find out they don't wash their hands after going to the bathroom. Do you shake their hands at the end of the night?
Brian
I would probably suck it up and shake their hand.
Dylan
You're such a nice guy. Wow. Yeah. You just. Would you just immediately go wash your hands? Burn it?
Brian
I would be thinking about it until.
Dylan
I'd be in your head, but I.
Brian
Don'T think I would.
Nick
I don't know. I put my hand on the escalator rail at an airport. Honestly, way pool better. Yeah. You know, I'm not going to start getting all like, germaphobe, you know, just because someone didn't wash their hands, you.
Brian
Got to be all or nothing, right?
Dylan
That's so true.
Nick
Your new girlfriend asked you to go on a private jet from Miami to Orlando so she can pick up her dogs. Do you go.
Brian
How long is that flight?
Amaya Papaya
Probably 15 hours.
Nick
Honestly, like, is it in a whole hour?
Brian
I just hate flying so much.
Dylan
Do you prefer a road trip over flying?
Brian
Yeah, I. I think I would try to talk them out of, like, using a private jet for that short of a flight. That feels a little jet fuel. Wasteful, you know?
Amaya Papaya
Love it.
Dylan
All right. You are forced to share a secret. What secret do you share? He's like, it's a secret.
Brian
I like looking around for, like, something that's secret, secretive.
Nick
I honestly hate that question. I'm like, I'm not gonna tell you. Like, it's a fucking secret.
Amaya Papaya
It's a secret for a reason.
Dylan
I'd be like, not a big one.
Nick
Quick. Your deepest, darkest secret.
Dylan
Does Belly end up with Conrad or Jeremiah?
Brian
All of my airtags are dead, so if I lose anything, it's lost.
Dylan
Do you have airtags in, like, all of your shit?
Brian
Nah, just my keys, my wallet.
Dylan
Okay, perfect. Just like.
Amaya Papaya
That's why he doesn't find anything right now. He's, like, looking around actually. Where are my keys?
Nick
Chris, this has been so much fun. Final question before you go. Are you really excited about the Red Sox win streak? Do we feel like it's legit? Is it real? Are they going to make the playoffs? Tell me about it.
Brian
All I'm saying is coupons.
Nick
No, they're like.
Brian
It's like a calendar.
Dylan
Okay.
Brian
It was just a. To emphasize that I had. Oh, that's my secret.
Amaya Papaya
Oh, you calendar.
Dylan
I had two months ago.
Nick
What's the fact.
Dylan
Thank God you're up today. We're still in April.
Brian
On this date in 1946, Ted Williams homered in his first game. Back after missing the 43 to 45 season because he served in World War II.
Nick
That's where real men were men. They, like professional baseball players, you know, served for our country.
Dylan
What about today's actual date?
Brian
Oh, today's actual date. That's a good question, too. And then I'll answer the Red Sox question, because I think it could be. Be real. I think this could be the real thing, man.
Nick
While you're doing that, did you watch that, the documentary about the 2004 Red Sox on Netflix?
Brian
It was good.
Nick
My girlfriend.
Brian
I watched it. I mean, I've seen so many iterations of that documentary, but. Oh, it feels good.
Nick
It's good.
Brian
I also like the. They did, like, a documentary on the Red Sox last season, which was pretty good.
Nick
Oh, I didn't see that one.
Brian
It's good. It's good. I mean, they didn't even make the playoffs, so it's just sort of interesting to see a team in that, like, position.
Dylan
No.
Brian
Okay, this one's cool. In July of 2023, Nick Pavetta had 43 strikeouts for the month, and most by a pitcher who made one or fewer starts in a single calendar month since Dick Raditz of Boston had a 45 in 19 6. Jesus Christ.
Dylan
All right, and that does it for our show.
Brian
Nick Pavetta struck out 43 guys. You like, Nick?
Dylan
Shout out. Out. Nick.
Nick

Dylan
He's giving, you know, just hairy chill personality. Been team Conrad since the start.
Amaya Papaya
I will say calm down.
Nick
All right, well, let's get into some oc.
Dylan
We had the premiere of Real Houses Orange County Thursday night, and if you don't remember what happened last season, here is a rapid recap. Shannon Beador was the DUI baddie. Everyone was ruthless to her, especially Tamara. And if that wasn't bad enough, Alexa Bolino bombshelled her way into Orange county with Shannon's ex Johnny J on her arm. This led to a season of diva on diva crime. But only one could come out victorious, and it was, in fact, Shannon Bedor. Tamara was really mean to everyone. So much so she had to go to therapy. Emily did a boudoir shoot. It was hot. She also had drama with newcomer Katie. Started off in a rough spot with a feud with Heather, who maybe had issues with her husband Terry. Oh, and then there was Jen, who got bullied for being poor but still getting glam. And then her boyfriend got involved with that whole Dodgers interpretation scandal.
Amaya Papaya
Remember that?
Dylan
Anyway, they got engaged. Gina was also there. She's always a vibe, but had some issues with her boyfriend. They stopped living together because the house was small, but still are making it work. Alexis, sadly didn't survive, but hopefully the return of icon legend girl boss Gretchen Rossi will help stir up chaos. Alexis didn't survive the season.
Amaya Papaya
The next season.
Dylan
She's. She's currently still breathing. She is breathing, but she is not. She did not get brought back for another season of Rahaf says Orange County. But hopefully the return of iconic legend girl boss Gretchen Rossi will stir up chaos. Only a girl can dream. And that's what you missed on Real Housewives of OC Last season. You're a good reader, period. This was a great. A great opening to a season, everyone. Every new Bravo show, real first January. Like, everyone needs to take fucking notes. This is how you open a season. We had the right amount of drama. We had a little bit of, like, pulling on the heartstrings with Emily's family and what she's going through with her children. Children. We had like, you know, the. The gin and Ryan still being Jen and Ryan.
Nick
Daddy keeps me out.
Dylan
You guys don't tell each other on a regular how hot you feel each other. We're just about to say that. The amount of times they're like, God, baby, you are just so sexy. So. You're just so hot. You're just like, God, you're just. Wow. It's just.
Amaya Papaya
It's like, okay.
Dylan
Do you. Are they actually gonna get married in bathing suits? I wouldn't put it past them, honestly. I would not put it past him. Going to beach bunny for your bridal try on is.
Nick
We had Bravo therapy. I just can't with Bravo therapy. Yeah, I just. It seems so. I just want someone to talk to me about Bravo therapy.
Dylan
I'm also, like, confused because it sounds.
Amaya Papaya
Like this is the therapist that said.
Dylan
The advice or diagnosis that got her in trouble directly after. So I'm just like, that's the same therapist. She said, you told me. And then I misspoke. And so it's like, it's almost like she was brought on to confirm that she like misdiagnosed or came on too soon. And I'm just like, isn't this like.
Amaya Papaya
Not a good look though? Or like your business?
Dylan
I don't know if I don't think.
Nick
Phylotherapy is ever a good look. It's just like, this is not what therapy is. It just.
Dylan
It's to further a storyline. Yes.
Nick
Yeah. I'm like, like not narrating my life in that way. You know, it's more fuck, man.
Dylan
Like, you know, it's just like today and then yesterday.
Amaya Papaya
And this is why I feel this way.
Dylan
And she's like, so remember that time that you're.
Amaya Papaya
You told me.
Dylan
It's like. And he still hasn't texted me back.
Nick
The Katy stuff is jarring.
Dylan
The Katie stuff is hard. But then I also remember what these women did to her at the reunion. And I have empathy for her. Like them pulling out all of the, like making her relive the trauma of having her kids taken away. I mean, not her giving her kids to her ex husband and being like, I'm not in a place right now. Like, I need a fit living space. Like she. The fact that they brought all of that up at Revolution reunion without even knowing if she was coming back to for another season either. Like, that's just humiliation just being her first reunion. I just, it just felt so.
Nick
I totally get it. I just want it. It is fascinating the. This world we talk a lot about now that, you know, Bravo's been around so long, like the Janet of it all, casting fans and like the reality TV world is so fascinating in the sense that like, like how reality TV stars, especially ones that like, live in la, how they make friends and their circle of people and people who kind of attack attach themselves to them. And then there's so much like discourse about like the blogger community and. And then how they insert themselves, you know, in these spaces and you know, like the blogger community. It's like, I think there's a lot of reality TV stars who won't fuck with him because like they're kind of insidious. They're spreading gossip and rumors and half truths and speculations and again, most of it is just like eight Katie. You know, there's some truth to it for sure. And then they, and then they have all these fan theories and they just, they operate as if the people on TV aren't. Aren't human.
Dylan
Yeah.
Nick
So for Katie to be friends with these people and engage with them and share rumors and tea. Is this such a violation of trust? I mean, it's back to the Monica Garcia of it all, when it happened. You know, it's just like, we've got to know Monica. We love her. But, like, that whole. I completely empathize with why those women found it so jarring. Just because it is such a violation of just, like, feeling safe in your world. Because, like, the bloggers, they're. They're fans. They're. They're. They're super fans. They're people who invested so much of their lives and, like, obsessively following the lives of people on tv, and it's.
Dylan
I do feel like bloggers are getting more and more, like, becoming part of the drama on a lot of these sure.
Amaya Papaya
Shows.
Dylan
You know, it's like. I mean, this is. It's brought up in Atlanta, obviously. It was the main storyline in Salt Lake City. It's now an Orange County County. It's.
Susie Evans
They've always been a part of housewives storylines, though.
Dylan
Do you feel like it's getting, like, out of control?
Susie Evans
You have. No. You have housewives that have became bloggers. You. There's always reality blur being screenshotted in every single reunion, every single show. It's just now you have Monica that was majorly involved in it.
Dylan
Right.
Susie Evans
Or Katie that knows the people. Like, it's just.
Dylan
It's more her being like, they're inviting me to their weddings.
Nick
It's like, I bet.
Dylan
Yeah. You're clearly in constant correspondence with. With them. Y' all are besties.
Nick
But, like, there's no. Like, there's no. They. They treat rumors as if this. It's this. Like, it's okay to just make some. Or just, like, play the telephone game.
Susie Evans
I feel like you're. You're. The way you thought of it is podcasts are becoming more involved in Bravo. Maybe, like, podcasts or blogs have always been a part of it, but podcasts have never really been acknowledged.
Dylan
Well, like, the housewings used to have their own blogs, and that's how they would get themselves in trouble, because they would write about their castmates or, like, what happened in an episode, and then it would be like, you wrote about Da da. And then all of a sudden, it kind of, like, opened up to, like, all of us in general public, where it's just, like. I will say, I. I think it's a little strange that. And I. I Get Katie's daughter. Yeah, Katie's daughter, Kaylee. I don't know how old she is. She's over 18. Under, over 18. So she's definitely adult. She can do what she wants. But I think the fact that Katie is just, like, allowing her to insert herself in this, you know, know, I. I feel like she's like, setting her up for failure of just like, you know, like her going on a podcast and. Yeah, she's talking, she's spreading her truth, which for sure you can do, but it's like you're in a game with a. With a bunch of older women. It's like, why let her get so involved?
Susie Evans
It's just weird. I agree.
Dylan
Weird.
Susie Evans
It's like, for what?
Nick
Per.
Susie Evans
Like, if I was Katie's daughter, I. I mean, say what you want to say, but I'm also like, I don't know what it would serve.
Dylan
Well, like, we did the tick tocks, which, like, fine, funny. It's your social media. Say what you need to say. But I'm just like, the. Going podcast and talking about somebody's parenting or nannies or who likes whose kids. Like, I'm just like. I feel like that's where I'm like, that's the step too far where it's like, you can say what you need to say because you feel like things were spoken out against you that are calling you a liar. But I'm like, I feel like to go and try and make headlines, it's like you're openly putting a target on your daughter's back. Yeah. I mean, granted, she didn't tell her to do the podcast, but she definitely didn't stop her from doing the podcast.
Nick
I just. I just always feel like, you know, people talk so much about, again, that, you know, what you saw, signed up for type of thing. And like, you know, on some ways we operate, it's just like, yeah, there is a privilege and a gift of being on TV and being a star and having a platform. I just think there's a big difference between, like, fans and the stars themselves having their podcast or going on shows and breaking down and talking and analyzing what we see on TV or what we analyze, what they put out on their social. I think it's this night and day difference between that and what is. So what seems to be such a big part of specifically Bravo is the rumor mill and the fan speculation and the fan theories, and some of which are dangerous and toxic. Yeah, it's just very damaging for some of these cast members, and it does affect their lives. And I just, like. It's. I. I just think for Katie to be so integrated with them gives that community a level of credibility. I don't. I just don't think they deserve.
Susie Evans
The thing is, she's so real, because that's why Lisa Vanderpumpel left the show is because she wouldn't admit she has connections at Radar Online. So it's like, they all have connections. Katie's just like, yeah, like, don't we all?
Dylan
She's like, what do you mean? Yeah, calling.
Susie Evans
And like, she's just real about it. So that's where it's interesting to Katie, where it's like, she's not wrong. But also, it's. It's a little weird that she's like, they're my friend.
Dylan
And I agree with that because I was like, the contradictions. A little bit of, like, an OG cast versus, like, them. What do you call it? Hazing the new person, where it's just like, Emily's screaming at her, being like, you don't bring up kids. You don't bring up this. I'm like, well, you outed a whole situation that was never a part of a season because you went and did research after you got mad about people doing research. Research, literally. And then you expose it and then try to be like, oh, no, now it's boundaries. Now you can no longer cross this line.
Susie Evans
And it's like, that's where Katie was right, where it's like, my daughter going on a podcast is not like, a touche. It's not the same as what you did to me at reunion. So it's a balance of. It's weird, but it's also, like, you're.
Dylan
Kind of valid when I do it, it's okay. When you do it, you should get kicked off the show. And that's what I don't like about the contradiction of it all.
Nick
I do love how Heather and Terry are so rich.
Dylan
She's like, let's just finish the floors. It's nothing. He's like, 45,000? She's like, yeah. He's like, what? That's what you spend at a night at Nobu. Like, yeah, Like, Heather, can I be on your list? What is. What is getting a $45,000 tab at Nobu Feel like being like, literally. Hope you all ate well, remember when she had that party? Like, is it last season or two seasons ago? And everyone started fighting and she had ordered all of this, like, Nobu takeout? And because the fight started at her house, she was like, all Right. Dinner's over.
Susie Evans
Was that the one where they said that Alexis was a giraffe?
Dylan
Yeah. No, it was Gina. It was between Gina and Heather that got into a fight, but it was like all of this catered. No boo. And she kicked everyone out before they could even have a bite. And I was like, that's a new level of rich I've never seen before. And petty. I mean, what. What did y' all think of the ending fight of, like, the get up? I would climb up on that cell tower and get service to prove that I didn't dm or she DM me for I'm with Gina.
Susie Evans
Katie.
Dylan
Sorry.
Susie Evans
I love you.
Nick
The truth, huh? She's definitely not.
Dylan
Did that. I said that's. I'm like, if I'm with Gina. That I'm like, if you're accusing me of doing some shady ass shit, I'm walking my ass to the street.
Nick
Because also, how do you. How do you prove that you didn't send something first? You can just unsend something.
Susie Evans
Well, doesn't it say that you unsent it, though?
Christopher Briney
It does.
Susie Evans
I think it still says you would still have on your end.
Dylan
Unless you delete it.
Susie Evans
If you deleted it, it doesn't. But if you unsent it, it would.
Dylan
But.
Nick
Oh, so you just delete it. Yeah, that's what I'm saying. So she could just delete and be like, look, there's nothing there.
Dylan
Yeah, that is. Somebody has to walk with her.
Susie Evans
Kathy Hilton did that at a reunion where she's like, it's not on my phone. And Lisa was like, but you can delete the text.
Dylan
But did all the other women also not have service or was it only Katie who didn't service? Some of them did. They were like, I have no.
Susie Evans
Shannon was like, no. Because Shannon was like, no, you're right. I had to use the landline.
Dylan
But Gina was like, I have service. I'd be like, let me log into my Instagram on your phone. Katie's like, I don't know my password. Katie's like, I'm on autosave for everything.
Nick
Two step verification. I don't.
Susie Evans
In Katie's. In Katie's defense, she had to have been played by the edit. There's no way that she was just like, I. I don't have it.
Brian
I don't know.
Susie Evans
Like, she had. They probably like edited it in a way that she was.
Dylan
I have no service.
Susie Evans
Yeah.
Dylan
I don't know what to tell you guys. And I'm like, if I'm getting screamed at by seven women. I'm. I'm figuring it out.
Susie Evans
I'd be like, let me try. She probably tried and was like, no service. And then they cut out the first part and she's like, no service.
Dylan
Yeah, that's so true. She sat there for an hour being like, guys, I'm refreshing. I'm refreshing. I'm at. What's the WI fi password? The WI fi's not working. It's not working. And then she was like, I have no ceremony. And then the edit's like, let's put. Put that in twice. Messy. It's nice to have OC Back. I will say it's nice to see the women again. We also had reunion part one of Real Housewives of Atlanta. Here's your rapid recap so far. This is what we've learned from Reunion. Brit is the Carmen San Diego of the Real Housewives of Atlanta reunion, because where is she? However, this is okay because that means our best friend of show, Cynthia Bailey can hang for the whole time. Getting to the drama, the main takeaways are this. Drew says Portia's return was a flop, while Portia says Drew should be worried. Who is flipping and flopping in the basement basement with Ralph. Portia admits she was petty to Drew and they all hug. There was an alleged alliance between Britt, Kelly Shamia with Portia. Portia did not know about this. And like, have we not Learned from Talls vs. Smalls? Angela came with a file and claims that the blogger diva Marcus's aunt is friends with Phage's brother from back home. And therefore it must have been Phaedra who leaked the Charles Ugly cheating allegations. However, it must be known the high school friend from your brother may not in fact be your friend. But who's to say Phaedra has spread rumors before? The question still remains, was it Phaedra? And if not, who? Hopefully we will find out soon. And part two.
Susie Evans
I love Atlanta.
Dylan
And that's what you missed on Real Housewives of Atlanta.
Nick
What's your favorite part?
Susie Evans
All of it. I think we keep this cast for the second season for another season. Like, people hate Drew, but I'm like, drew eats for me. I'm sorry. Like, her one liners, go sit on Portia's lap.
Dylan
Yeah, I agree. I like this.
Susie Evans
And the fact that Angela was left out of this newbie alliance. And Angela's like, I. What about me?
Dylan
Angela is not in the group chat. Angela gets no notifications. Yeah, yeah, but they're like, they're so mean to her.
Susie Evans
So mean to her. And then Angela being like, pedro, you needed a contract. And Pedro's like, I have had it. Like, what do you mean?
Dylan
Well, that's what I was like. Angela, like, God bless her, love her. But I'm just like, the idea that you think Ms. Queen Phaedra needs to come after you for a storyline.
Susie Evans
Honey, they brought her in for a reason. She's staying.
Dylan
Go back to the library, study, come back.
Nick
I don't know. I, I, she's definitely my favorite.
Dylan
Angela, you live in Underdog.
Susie Evans
You're gonna love. I think it's part two when Charles Oakley sits down and he goes, everybody's worried about my business, but I'm the only husband sitting here.
Dylan
Where's your husband? So true.
Nick
Maybe it's probably. I love Angela so much. Just like, their dynamic. I do feel like, you know, she's a rookie. You know, rookies always have a tough first season. I think she's handled herself well. And honestly, when she, when she's in a scene, I enjoy it.
Susie Evans
Her scenes with Charles Oakley, like the finale when she's like, let him speak, let him speak.
Dylan
And like, I'm gonna, you can't be here.
Susie Evans
I love it, though.
Amaya Papaya
Stop it.
Nick
Yeah.
Dylan
No, when they, what did they call Angela? He, he.
Susie Evans
Jackson knows or whatever.
Nick
Yeah.
Dylan
No, these women. Yeah. So Brit definitely did not show up.
Susie Evans
So she posted her reunion look, though.
Dylan
Did she really?
Susie Evans
And she's like, it's like edited. She's like, on fire.
Dylan
What about Chanel Ion?
Nick
I don't like.
Amaya Papaya
Was it with the color scheme?
Nick
You're like, sick. Burn. She posted what she was going to wear.
Dylan
We all missed it in person. Going to go cry about it now. What about Chanel Ion coming for Phaedras?
Susie Evans
We talked about it on pop. I'm like, I. Low key. I'm like, chanel, you're right. But also I think Phaedra Aid. And I'm like, chanel, what do you wear?
Nick
Reunion.
Susie Evans
Like, I love Chanel, but I'm like, what are you? You're showing up in feathers and hippies.
Dylan
Chanel is always, like, peeking her little head into something and, like, commenting. She's always just, she's, she's in the mix. She loves a good tweet. She loves a good tweet.
Nick
And honestly, I enjoy her tweets.
Dylan
I know you do. No, her one in Traders where she's like, I didn't know Survivors was a show. I thought they survived diseases.
Susie Evans
Bravo. Taking Dubai off is the biggest Vegas fail, in my opinion.
Nick
But we do have halfway around the world.
Dylan
We do have Rhode island, and there was a clip of Ashley I.
Nick
There is a spot Ashley I and.
Dylan
Jared film and Jared Jared.
Nick
To which I immediately reached out to them. I cannot confirm or deny anything they said.
Amaya Papaya
So, yes, she is on.
Nick
But we will be watching Rhode Island Housewives 100 for sure.
Dylan
No, we will be locked in, Covering, recapping.
Nick
Yeah. Let's just say not a friend of.
Susie Evans
Dolores is there for a lot of it too.
Dylan
Snake is not a friend of.
Nick
What?
Dylan
Who's not a friend?
Nick
That's all I'm saying.
Susie Evans
You're saying Ashley I isn't.
Dylan
That feels.
Amaya Papaya
Like maybe cast member.
Nick
I'm just saying.
Dylan
No, he literally just said not a friend of.
Nick
I could be talking about literally anything or anyone, period.
Amaya Papaya
I'm just.
Nick
It's an individual sentence standing on its own. But I will be. I'll be tuning in.
Susie Evans
If we've learned anything from Cynthia, Friend of. Can be the show. So we won't even have to worry.
Dylan
About it because she's not a friend of.
Nick
Well, I didn't say she. I just said not a friend of.
Dylan
Not a friend of. I don't know if Us Weekly is gonna.
Susie Evans
They're gonna clip that.
Dylan
They're gonna clip it and they're gonna keep in.
Susie Evans
Nick confirms.
Dylan
Nick confirms friend of show. I don't know what. Nick confirms that Ashley I is, quote.
Amaya Papaya
Not a friend of.
Dylan
End quotes.
Amaya Papaya
She will be a full time cast member.
Dylan
We will be watching.
Nick
I haven't heard that from anyone.
Dylan
Yeah.
Nick
But I did talk to my friends recently.
Dylan
He did dm. Ashley I.
Nick
And then what do you think we're like, co workers?
Dylan
Yeah. Dm.
Amaya Papaya
I don't know.
Dylan
Katie. Her husband was the best man.
Nick
If the rumors are true. I am.
Dylan
But we don't know.
Nick
I am excited to see Jared being a husband of a housewife.
Susie Evans
Are you talking.
Nick
He's too sweet.
Dylan
I was just gonna say, who is he giving? Is he gonna give us a little stuff?
Nick
He's giving Jared. He's giving Jared haven.
Dylan
I don't think. I don't think Jared has it at him to call anyone a biotch.
Amaya Papaya
Because.
Dylan
He'S gonna be like Todd being like, this drama. So did they tell you who else.
Amaya Papaya
Was gonna be on the cast?
Dylan
Rhode Island.
Nick
I was gonna say they would never tell me anything. I.
Amaya Papaya
Nothing.
Dylan
No.
Susie Evans
My question was, are you DMing Katie? And can you show us the receipts?
Dylan
I got it. Call back. Orange County.
Amaya Papaya
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Susie Evans
Yes. Insiders, Friends.
Dylan
Oh.
Christopher Briney
Oh.
Dylan
If you have to explain it, it doesn't work. No, that was funny.
Nick
All right, well, that will do it for this episode. Thank you to all of our guests, Susie Evans, Amaya, Papaya and Brian, as well as Christopher Briney. Thank you to them all.
