I just don't know if I really care all too much to like, pay attention this whole entire time. So it was like, yeah, my. Like, I was just so. I was out of it. I was out of it by the end of the day. Like, we got there so early, we didn't start filming till like way later on. And yeah, I was out of it. I was zoned the out 100. Like, I was. I was not there. I was so checked out.

It felt like Jeremiah, like needed you in that moment where race was coming after him and Ariana was like, well, Austin, you know him the best. So you're like, I got nothing.

And then there's people who just are because, like, you can tell they sometimes step in it or they sometimes say, you know, it doesn't come out quite right, you know, so to speak. And you've always come across to me as someone who is like, can't help but be themselves. And you've 100%, you've gotten criticism, you face criticism, you've owned, you know, the criticism you've had. You're an imperfect person like the rest of us. So I've always appreciated that about you. So. And I find those people on TV the most interesting characters. So thanks for being interesting.

Well, thank you for being interested. Yeah, no, like, at the end of the day, you know, because Love island does their best to cast people that are like, just normal people. And then even before, like, of course I knew what Love island was like, you know, you know of it, but you don't really. You're so disconnected from everything while on the actual show, so you don't understand how big of a lens you're actually under. And then so like, when you come out, it's like, holy shit. Like, you don't really realize that, like, okay, actually everything I do now, like, people are, are going to be looking at. And yeah, as a very unserious person that just kind of let fly, like, it was like oh, man. Anything I say, it's like, damned if I do, damned if I don't have a feeling. Yeah.

Yeah, definitely. But, like, I feel like in my head, I'm like, oh, man, that's not what I meant. But it's like, either way, even if you come back to it and say, like, that's not what I meant, people are going to be like, oh, well, this, that, this, that. So it's like. It's like you just like, wow, whatever, you know, I've got. If it's. If it's too crazy, then, like, you know, then say something. But if it's like, whatever, it's like, I'm just not gonna touch that.

Which I think leads into the Jeremiah Taylor, Ace, Nick, that whole, like, drama, where it was very much like Ace trying to say that Jeremiah had said all of these things about the money or about the show or whatever. And I. That's one of my biggest pet peeves is when you are with your friends and you are joking about something, and then they try to take that, where you're like, oh, my God, I would kill you. And then they're like, you made me feel so uncomfortable. You said, kill me, and, like, I'm scared to be around you. And so I totally understood Jeremiah being like, like, don't villainize that. Did you feel like the guys, like, took a lot of what he said and tried to make it bad?

I think they knew he was joking. It was just trying to justify a reason behind it of, like, why they moved the way they did. Because, like. Like, it was. It was so obviously a joke. And like, when we were talking about the followers stuff, like, when he was like. We were all sit. Like. I remember we had two conversations about this. Once we all came in, and then once when all the casa people came in, it was just like, oh, how did you guys get discovered? Like, did you have a following before this? So that's why I was super confused because, like, it was like, obviously, like, we were just, like, bullshitting on, like, how we got there. Because there's times, like, you. You can't. I've really enjoyed watching Ace most of the season. I think, you know, he. He made a lot of great points often. But one thing he always talked about, whether it was in. In the villa or post Villa, he always, like, talks about how he wants everyone to stand on business. Right? Like, kind of like self identifying himself is like the real one, but like speaking to that and then calling Jeremiah out for followers, it's just like he wanted like, like the rest of the world to ignore. But of all the people coming into the villa, this guy, like, had close to a million followers already, was already an influencer, like, kind of knew. Knew how to monetize, which is all great. I mean, like, pop off king, you know?

But it's just like, why are you calling this guy out for something you were literally already doing and making it seem like anyone else who's like, you know, like, you all went on a TV show, of course you're excited to, like, get followers and like, of course you're excited to be famous like that. I should have been transparent. Should have communicated with her. But there was. I still wanted to get to know her, like, once we left the villa and then we were. She was talking about this House party thing where I was coming. Where I was going there to come break up with her or some shit, which was crazy. Vanna brought that out of note. Vanna was saying that. I don't know why Van. I mean, I know I. Vanna was saying that, but Vanna was trying to just cause drama.

Yeah. I never was going there to do that. I was just going to the party, just to go to the party. And then Jaden came up to me. She was, like, drinking a little bit. And. Yeah. And she was just saying some stuff that it just turned me off. It just turned me off from wanting to really get to know her. And she was very much like, in her feels in that moment. And honestly, I am so bad at talking about relationship things like that. I'm uncomfortable like, that. I don't want to continue. Like, in the past, I was 100% a ghoster. I am working on it. I'm trying to work on it, but it's like, man, sometimes I just don't want to have that conversation. Like, it's like, I just don't want to have the conversation with you. And. And, you know, if you. I respect her, so it's like, I should have given her the respect to have that conversation. But I also think she blew it way or out of. Because she's had the chance multiple times. Like, we've been doing events together. We've seen each other. She has my number. Like, she can call me anytime. None of that energy that she had, like, in the reunion, I never saw any of that previously. So if it was actually bugging you as much as it was like, like, you. Like, if it was bugging me that much, I would have called you. I would have reached out and I'd have been like, hey, this is bothering me. But that's what the reunion's for. And it's weird because, like, I'm curious, like, from your perception, is that kind of what you're talking about, where it's just like, yeah, in the villa, there's these rules of you're coupled up. You're. You're. You're. You're exclusive. You're not exclusive. But when you're not. When you leave the villa, it's like you're in the real world. Is like, what does. What does coupled up mean in the real world? So to speak.

100 and especially if we, like, if we defined what we were and had set our expectations of, like, leaving and, like, you know, started talking about plans of what we were gonna do and how we were gonna. How we were gonna do stuff, like how. How we were gonna make the location work and everything. And, like, when we were gonna see each other. Then 100 I get having that conversation and, like, you know, being a couple, like, literally we were just, like, at the stage of, like, where you're, like, going on your, like, first couple dates with someone, just getting to know them. Like, because there was so much about Jaden that she really wasn't comfortable with talking about on camera and on national tv, which completely respect that. Understand that. So there was still a whole side of her that, like, I didn't, like, even, like, really know to an extent. Like. Yeah. I mean, like, she. She was very. She used to be, like, an investigator. So it's like she couldn't talk about her work or anything. Like, she was very mysterious in that way. So it was like. So there was a still. Like, I still didn't know, like, 50% of you. So it's like we're still getting to know each other. And there was that night at that house party, and it was just weird. It was just weird. We just had a weird conversation, and it just, like, really turned me off. And in the moment, I should have been like, you know what? This just isn't. This just isn't what I see for us. Is there a part of you that, like, doesn't want to have a girlfriend because you want to? You know? Like, I think a lot of men, you know, and I don't know what you've heard or what you want to say or not say about some of the unfollowing or the rumors circulating about some of the couples that left the villa, but it's a lot of pressure to, you know, leave the villa famous and then have all these women, you know, or men, depending on who you are, like, just falling all over you, sliding your DMs, flirting with you, trying to tempt you. And is there a part of you that's like, I don't want a girlfriend right now? Because, like, I. I don't know, I just want to. I don't want to worry about that. And I. I don't want to do something to hurt someone in the long run. And I just want to, like, have fun and meet women and. And go to parties and like, not worry about, you know, with someone's emotions or cheating on them or et cetera, et cetera.

Yeah, a hundred percent. You know, there's. There's that and like, like, yes, you know, you wanna. I've. I've said this because it is so different. Even as an attractive guy, even, like, without the, like, even before this, any of us, any of the guys that were on there, even as an attractive guy, you are still approaching. You are still approaching women. You're still the approacher beforehand. If you're out and you're out and about, like, you're the. You. You go up to girls and, like, you know, you're trying to pick them up. Even as an attractive guy, you know, they're, there's, there's like the odd ones out where some will, like, you know, approach you, but usually you're on the approach. And then so afterwards coming out of that, and then like, you are literally just being approached and you, like, don't have to, like, really, like, put in a crazy amount of work. Like, that's. What was it like? I don't know if you were zoned in or zoned out at this moment, but when they were replaying Huda's montage of Hurricane Huda and she was, was belly laughing, what was kind of your reaction to that?

You know, a lot of it comes to like, you know, you, you weren't really laughing when we were like in there, you know, like, especially like the pancake thing, like it was funny. Like you're like, oh my God, that's so funny and I can't believe how funny. Well, like in there you didn't necessarily think it was that funny and you didn't think it like wasn't a big deal. But yeah, you know, I think kind of to what Andy Cohen said, like, you know, how much growing can you do in, in a month and a half? And I mean, I know for me, I, I wasn't the most popular person to come off the show. Huda was one of the more popular persons and I've had a full schedule so I've not had time for therapy. So I definitely don't know how you have had time for therapy in the last month and a half and have grown, done all this growing. But if she has more power to her, I mean, I, I, at the end of the day, I do like Huda, I do like her. She just, you know, she's, she bit crazy, you know, but who doesn't love, you know, who doesn't love a bit crazy, you know, I, I, you know.

Like, like you, you know what I loved about Huda watching this is she seems to keep it real and I don't think anyone can take that away from her is that at least on Love island, she kept it 100. I. We all know that Louie, the guy she is now dating, is on another dating reality TV show, which is over, which is done filming, but it hasn't aired yet. Yeah, but what did you think of all that? Did you want more accountability in general from Huda and did you find it as ridiculous as I think everyone did, that she, you know, acted as if, like, she was above it all? It's. And then she posted something later on. It's just like, like, she felt pressured from Ariana and Andy. They asked several times just like, she didn't want to speak on her relationship. It's like, you guys, like, this show did make you all famous. Like, I hope you guys remember that. So to speak. As if. And now. But now she's like, too good to, like, speak about her relationship on the show. I don't know. What did you think about all that?

You know, I thought the Netflix comment was for sure, you know, a little strange. For sure. But I mean, at the end of the day, if she doesn't want to speak on it, she doesn't have to. But to the point that you are making. We were on a dating show. People are interested in your love life. And that guy, I don't know who he is, but he was on a dating show too, so it's like people are interested in his love life as well. So it's like you can't go into something expecting not to be asked about it.

I feel like it was just like the lie of it all. It's like. And clearly Netflix is kind of poking fun and being like, don't ask. Like, we don't know.

So, I mean, that doesn't make for too much fun. I think we were all expecting a little more.

You recently came out and said some things weren't shown from like what Amaya has, has said. Is there anything that you can kind of clear up about that story statement?

Well, just like, you know, I think during that stand on business challenge, there was, yes, definitely could have changed my tone, but they didn't show things leading up to thing. Like, every time that Zach or I would talk, she'd be like, you, you little ass. And then so it's like eventually, like, holy, stop coming at me, like, let me talk. And yes, like, that's like the only thing. But like, you know, it's water under the bridge. Like, I, I talked to Amaya the other day. Like, we're all cool now. But yeah, like there, I mean, there was just. There was a lot that, that wasn't shown in that stand on business. It was, it was, it was so funny being there. Oh, my gosh. But yeah, there, there was a lot. Not sure.

Are you close with Brian at all?

I'm not that close with Brian. Like, we're friends. Not super. Like, I, I don't talk to him that often. I haven't talked to him him. Yeah. So I don't really know what's going on there.

Did you see the clip of them doing some interview altogether? And I think it landed on Brian of like, who was the most attractive family member that came in and he went like, on and on and on about Huda's sister, like, really sitting right next to him.

Really? I think I did see something about like, Amaya, like some rumor was like, Amaya got rubbed the wrong way for.

Not to beat a dead horse about the standing on business, but, you know, when it happened, I gave you and a lot of the other men because it felt like, at least with what we saw that like you guys were piling on Amaya where it was like, here's this girl crying and you guys were like, and this. And you did this and I don't know why you do that. Like, can you like, shed some light as, like, did it. Did it play out a different way or was. Were you caught up in the moment or, like, why did it feel like the guys, like, took that opportunity to just really let Amaya know all your little ticks and icks about her?

Okay, so I think the reason why I took so long to tell Amaya because I saw how things went with Ace. And then I saw the fallout of that afterwards. Now everybody has their own experiences. Everybody goes about things differently. So maybe, you know, it was would have happened differently if I would have said like, hey, you know what? Like, I'm just not feeling this and like, you know, this, that. But I was so, like, it just looked like Ace was going through so much drama after he told Amaya like, hey, this is what I'm not comfortable with and stuff. So then that's why I didn't say anything. And then I feel like, okay, there was the deflection at the reunion, you know, onto a Maya, definitely. You know, I think a lot of it was the side. They didn't show a lot of the side comments because anytime like Ace, me or Zach were talking, it was, it was just like, you're a fucking pussy. Like, it just kept, it just kept going and it just kept going, like egging on, egging on, egging on. So I think that's why like after one thing went out on Amaya, everyone was like, oh man. Like, I can also say this because if she's going to get, if she's going to be mad, she'll just be mad at all of us. I think like, that's kind of how like it went because it was like, I like, because I truly do, I, I, I love Amaya, I really do. Romantically. We do not gel. We do not gel. But I think she is so. She's one of the funniest fucking people I've ever met. Oh my God. Every single day she was making me laugh my ass myself. But she does. And I do think, and I think she just has a lot of love in her and she saw, you know, Shelly and a, she saw Nick and Sierra when, you know, Sierra was in the thing and she saw like how strong of a bond they had and like the time, you know, she saw the bond they had but was kind of forgetting the time it took to get there and wanted, they just wanted it right away. She, she wanted like latch on right away and she wanted you guys like, and it's like, not everybody can do that. I like, I mean, I know I can't do that and, but yeah, so then, I mean, yes, definitely it was not, it was not a good look of us going at a Maya and we shouldn't have gone at her. But there was also a lot not shown tone of. And it Made us look a lot worse than. Probably if the full thing was shown, it'd be like, oh, like they're still dicks. But, like, I. Like, I see how you got to that point. Like, before it was like, okay, you just didn't see how we got to that point, if that makes sense.

Yeah, yeah. When you got sent home, Alandria was the only one who had your back, which I thought was just a really charming moment. And it. You know, it's. It's those moments where you maybe there's a bond or a friendship revealed that we didn't really get to see as much. And it. So it clearly. I mean, the fact that Alandria had your back, there was clearly a bond and a friendship. Can you speak to that friendship that you guys developed in the villa? And is that something you've been able to maintain outside of the villa now that Nick and Alandria are a thing? And I'm sure focusing on their relationship.

Yeah. So Alandria was the first person in the villa that I opened up to because I went in Jeremiah, Ace, Nick. All of them have done acting, modeling, social media, that stuff before where they've been in front of a camera. Like, I watched my first episode and I haven't watched anything else because I was so, like, cringed out by myself. I was like, oh, my God. Like, I just looked like I was deer in headlights. And so I was having such a hard time connecting with those guys at first. And, like, just because, like, we just came from two different worlds. Like, I mean, I was working a blue collar job, and so it was just. It was so weird at first. And then so I talked to a Landier. Like, she just. She got, like. We just got each other to open up so easily. Like, she's just. She's such a great friend and she's super understanding and she gives great advice, too. But yeah, I mean, her and I had so many, like, conversations that I guess weren't shown of. Like, just, like, you know, always being there for each other, always checking in on each other, making sure each other's okay. Like, I mean, and she was. She was the one that she, like, told the guys. Like, she was like, austin's a good guy. You guys better like, make him feel at home. She was going to ride. She was riding for me when I wasn't even, like, around there. It was like, it just. It shows, like, just who she is. She's such an awesome, awesome, awesome woman. Yeah. So then when she stood behind me, it. It meant so much. Like, it Was it was super cool. One thing that people don't know, I did, like, because there was a few guys that were going to stand behind me. I wanted to go home so bad. I was so ready to go home. I wanted to leave so, so, so, so bad. And, yeah, just because all my friends kept leaving, I was just kind of done. And if Jaden wasn't going to be there, then it was like, only one of us were going to stay. So. So then if Jaden was going to leave then, or, like, I was going to, like, I wouldn't want to be there.

Like, without even having a connection, the one connection I finally did find left, and then it'd be like, okay, I wouldn't want to be here anyways.

So, yeah, before we were going, I was like, if it comes down to a vote, please none of you guys stand behind. Please, none of you. Yeah. So that's why people are like, oh, see, none of the guys stood behind Austin for this. That reason. None of them stood behind me because I asked them not to stand behind because Zach was fighting me on it tooth and nail. And I was like, please do not. And, like, I was thinking about the pasta bolognese. As soon as I figured out. As soon as I figured out that, like, okay, this is going to be down to a vote, I was like, oh, pasta bolognese at the hotel. God, I can't wait to sleep in. Like, oh, my gosh, I can't wait to get back, maybe smoke a little weed or something. And like, I got so excited for what was to come. I was like, oh, my God, thank God. And, yeah, so. But yeah, having stand behind me, though. Oh, a. Like, that. It felt. It felt so cool.

Yeah. Just, you know, and thanks for shedding that light and that and giving us that behind the scenes. But, yeah, it just. I think Alandra has been a fan favorite for. She's been a huge favorite of ours, America's. But, like, I. I just always love. Especially in reality tv. And I've said this as someone who's been on it before and talking about Love island, it's such a high school environment where it's just like, the bully is the house. It's the majority. It's. It's so scary to be an outsider, you know, it's so scary to, like, you know, see the majority go one way and to think differently, the majority and stand on your own. And I think that represented, like, Alandria's, like, braveness and who she is, and it was just a cool moment. To see, and I'm glad we got to see it. Even though you wanted to go home and smoke a little weed and eat some pasta.

But do you think they were waiting to film the reunion to then in their relationships or.

See, I don't know if it was planned like that. Okay. I think it happened like that, but I, I, I do, I think the reunion should be like three, four months down the line.

I have no idea what happened in either. I haven't talked to Brian or Amaya since that. My mom was. My mom's way too on this Shit, dude, my mom knows alcohol.

My, my mom, my mom was asking me what happened. I'm like, I, you're telling me that this happened? I didn't even know it happened. And, um, but yeah, no, I'm not, not sure on the Brian and Maya thing. I haven't talked to either of them since it happened. I've talked to Iris a little bit. I'm not, I'm not really sure, you know, what's going down. I'll let her speak on that. But, yeah, I think, I think the reunion should have waited. I think they should have filmed it.

It's like I, that, you know, if.

Iris seems obviously we talked to her and she was like very. Made it very clear that she's not a drama girl. She's like, I don't want to be in drama. I don't like talking about drama. Like, she's just like, that's just not me. So it seems like something that we're not gonna get like some big tell all from Iris. She's not gonna like drag this out. I feel like eventually her and Pepe will be cool because she just doesn't need the drama in her life. I very much feel like she's that kind of girl.

Um, so what's next for you, Austin? Like, you know, obviously a lot of people go on these shows. There's a whole career that, you know, they unveil, they're doing lives, they're doing deals. Is. I mean, and I. Listen, you're not going to hear from me as someone who's made an entire career off of going on reality tv, because I feel like a lot of times it feels like a loaded questions like, do you want to be famous? You know, like. But like, you also seem to be like a down to earth guy. What do you want to do with this, if anything at all? And what do you. What is next for you?

[D]

I really want to get in comedy. So I. A lot of my friends and I like growing up like in high school and stuff, I went to an all boys boarding school growing up. So it's like, you know, you're all boys. When they're all together with just other boys, they come up with really stupid things. But so we'd, we'd like fake write these like screenplays and stuff and like little skits and see how I'm gonna. I'm going to do with a couple of back home buddies, but I want to do just like little YouTube skits, stuff like that. Get into like some animation. Like, yeah, adult animation. Like, adult sitcom animation. Like Family Guy, Rick and Morty type stuff. But, yeah, I definitely want to go, like, comedy route. Maybe stand up. I just. I don't know, I do, like, storytelling stand up or something. I don't know.

But, yeah, that'd be cool.

Yeah. Stay in the comedy sector, though, first, for sure. I'd. I'd love to make it in. In that world.

I know you're a big Jersey Shore fan. A couple. When. When I first met Natalie, she was a normie, and I brought her to the MTV Unscripted Awards, and I wasn't a big Jersey Shore fan, but we sat at the table with the entire cast of Jersey Shore, and I've never seen Nie freak out so much because she was like, oh, my God, I'm obsessed with these people. And like, me, I'm like, we have since become friends with JWoww. She came to our wedding. But, yeah, like, you're big fans. Have you got a chance to talk to any of them? I think so.

Yeah. I've talked to Angelina a little bit. DM Back and forth. I've talked to Paulie. I love Pauly D. I am a huge Pauly D fan. I've been a Pauly D fan forever. I think he's. He's iconic. He's iconic. He's the OG OG Reality TV guy. But, yeah, I'm trying to do something with him. We're trying to work it out, figure our schedules and see if, you know, we can line something up. But, yeah, yeah, I've talked to him. I'd love to talk to Mike, too. Mike seems like a really cool guy. Same with Vinnie. But, yeah, I'm a big Paulie fan. And, yeah, he hit me up after the show, and it was. I felt pretty cool.

Almost 20 years ago, when I lived in Milwaukee, before I did any of this, I was at a tanning sleep salon, and it was like the middle of winter, and I was about to, like, go on vacation, and if you're from Wisconsin, like, that was. If you went to Florida, you would go to the tanning salon, and Pauly D. Was in there because he was doing some DJ set and, like, all the women in the tanning slime were, like, freaking out. And I just remember being like, oh, that was. That was Pauly D. It was just a random thing. It was like 20 years ago.
