Host 3
Where would we rank this in terms of seasons?
Host 4
My introduction to Love Is Blind as someone who didn't watch love shows was Jess Festal season with AD and like. So that's. That set the bar for me. I really like this season.
Host 3
That was a pretty good one. What season was that?
Host 4
Season six, I think.
Host 5
Yeah, that was six.
Host 4
Do you remember Trevor when they like made him wait in the pod and they brought him out to the reunion and said, shame on you. You can go.
Host 3
Who is that?
Host 4
It was Trevor. He was the one that was dating a girl before coming into the pods and he almost ended up with. Was it Jess? No, Megan. Megan. What's her name?
Host 1
Megan.
Host 4
The girl that she said.
Host 5
Megan Fox.
Host 4
Megan Fox.
Host 5
Yeah.
Host 1
I think her name isn't actually Megan.
Host 5
No, no, no.
Host 4
But Trevor almost ended up with Megan Fox. That's the season.
Host 6
Not Megan Fox.
Host 1
Who's Trevor? No, my. Yeah, my favorite season was Christian McCaffrey and Megan Fox.
Host 4
Yeah.
Host 5
Speaking of Megan Fox, is there a world where we could get like a minor celebrity who doesn't have that much going on to just go on one of these seasons and say, like, listen,
Host 3
I'm Megan Fox is a minor celebrity.
Host 5
No, no, no, no. I'm just thinking celebrity part of that.
Host 1
Speaking of Megan Fox.
Host 6
Minor celebrity, say Megan Fox. What about the C list?
Host 5
If we could get like someone who really is. That was just the celebrity part is what reminded me. Someone who doesn't have that much going on to come into the pods. Like you Know some supporting actor from, like, whatever show and be like, hey, like, I have so many issues. Cause people just see me as, like, my character. They don't see the real me. They don't know that I'm an actor.
Host 1
It's giving jury duty.
Host 5
Yeah.
Host 3
Celebrity love is blind.
Host 5
Celebrity love is blind. That's kind of what I'm thinking.
Host 1
Pretty good concept. No, I actually think it's better instead of Celebrity love is blind to do exact thing and just throw one in. And then. And then it's like, people, could you actually. I don't think it should be a C list, like, celebrity. I think they should throw an actual single celebrity who's down to do this on the cast. And then, like, if somebody ends up with them, the reveal would be insane.
Host 6
Imagine she's like, the masked singer.
Host 4
Yeah.
Host 5
She's like, oh, my name is. My name is Sabrina. And it's like, oh, what do you do? I sing.
Host 1
Oh, cool.
Host 4
That's interesting.
Host 5
Yeah.
Host 1
Yeah.
Host 6
Okay.
Host 1
Are you a man child?
Host 6
But then you go, can you sing for me? And she goes, man, you know, I
Host 1
can't do a spiritual.
Host 6
There she goes.
Host 4
Nick, I have a question for you. Do we think Love is Blind and this is stemming from devonte, reinforces or encourages hookup culture because we see it every single season where there's that one couple that's like, oh, my God, they've had sex already, but we haven't. And it always creates an insecurity. So it almost feels like hookups or fast sex with someone you've just met is, like, inevitable or needed for Love is Blind to be successful.
Host 3
Um, interesting question.
Host 2
I. I think it's a product of
Host 3
hookup culture in the sense that, like, sex, when it comes to, like, where. Where sex fits in in people's dating timeline, is much more accelerated than ever before. And then when you put them in a TV love competition show where they say what in comparisons, the thief of joy, right? And we're like, you know, and reality tv, they're trying to steal everyone's joy on that cast. You know, like, you get good drama the more you trigger people's insecurities. Right. You know, So I think the show will lean into that. And, yeah, I think, you know, when you're on a reality TV show, these are all very competitive people. Many people who go on these shows, even if they really want to, like, lean into the experiment, really want this to be a growth opportunity. How many people would go on Love is Blind if it was just like, someone was like, hey, I'm Doing an experiment. Here's 50 bucks for your time. This won't be filmed. This won't be aired. We're just collecting some data. And are you willing to go on Love is Blind and do exact. Go through the exact format of the show, but no one sees it?
Host 1
Well, that's why I think the earlier seasons have. And I don't know if this is true or not, but I feel like the earlier seasons have more success.
Host 3
Well, sure, yeah.
Host 5
Yeah. To answer your question, I think if that was a thing that worked, that people wanted to do, it would exist in the real world, and it doesn't. Besides, like.
Host 3
Exactly. I mean, yeah, that even could be a fun dating app experience where it's just like. It could be like, Love is Blind coded, where you. You meet, you know, you get to
Host 2
know their age and all these qualities
Host 3
except their looks, and then you go on a date.
Host 2
I'm talking about the whole structure of the show.
Host 3
You know, you meet someone, you get engaged right away. There's a wedding in six weeks. You know, there's all these very specific, very structured steps in an experiment.
Host 6
Oh, I'm not doing anything where I have to get married in six weeks.
Host 2
But I'm just saying, like, there's, you
Host 5
know, like, no one would want to.
Host 2
We have to acknowledge that anyone who
Host 3
goes on this show is competitive, has a level of narcissism. And I don't mean, like, they're narcissistic. We all have, you know, we all have an ego. We all have. We all want to compete. We all want to. Our egos want us to be the best. No one on these shows is just looking for love.
Host 5
No, yeah, Agree. If you're going on tv, you want to be on tv, and you want everything that could come with that. You know, you're taking a huge risk.
Host 3
You know, Alex, for example, like, on one end, I'm like, okay, here's this traditionally attractive guy. He's probably had a lot of luck with the ladies. And in. In. In terms of meeting them. He hasn't had a lot of luck in finding, quote, unquote, his person. But to me, it's just like, this guy knows love is not blind for him. And he still went on a show,
Host 5
and he went on a show specifically where he knows if he wants screen time, he needs to find a partner. And if he wants to continue his career afterwards, he can't end up with that partner. Cause then he can't go on. Perfect.
Host 1
Know what? He's coming off like a dick. And I don't want to see him on any other show in the future. So did it help him? I don't think so.
Host 2
No.
Host 3
But, like, no one's the villain in their own story. Now that he's with Ashley, everything out of his mouth is him trying to prepare for a soft landing of a breakup.
Host 1
Well, okay, I hear what you're saying, and I also don't hear what you're saying, because I think that if he understood the assignment well enough, he wouldn't be saying. He wouldn't have had that conversation with Britney. He wouldn't be like, oh, Britney's more my type. Like, he's got to know that that's gonna piss off the audience.
Host 5
Screen time he's gotten us talking about him. We're not talking about.
Host 1
Not in a good way.
Host 3
Alex suggesting that he could track Ashley's period with him, which is the most.
Host 1
A shared track.
Host 4
Insane thing that Susie and I were gagged by that.
Host 6
That's like.
Host 5
That's insane.
Host 6
That's insane. Yeah. That's terrifying. I know. No, for me, dog.
Host 4
The dog on the second, he said. I don't know if I'm an expert, but I think it's like, one or two weeks after when he was trying to explain it to her, it was like, I feel like you shouldn't even be just crazy.
Host 2
Is this.
Host 3
This is crazy. I'm blown away. That come out of men's mouth.
Host 4
Yeah.
Host 1
This show definitely opens my eyes, too, to, like, just people and their opinions and.
Host 3
Well, it sounds like next week we'll really dive into.
Host 1
Chris, watch it already. I need you guys to watch these
Host 5
three episodes as soon as the weekend hits. That's the first thing I'm doing.
Host 3
All right, I'll see you next week.
