I published an essay yesterday. And then I recorded this. Not because the essay needed explaining. But because there’s always a part that doesn’t make the final draft… the part that happens in the parking lot after, when the composure is still on but the performance is off. That’s what this field note is.The essay is called The Root System. The short version: I finally said out loud, in public, that everything I teach about selling (the trust-first framework, the refusal to use urgency, the reciprocity model) doesn’t come from a coaching philosophy I developed. It comes from being Cherokee.I’ve been presenting the branches for three years. This week I named the root.In this field note, I talk about:* What “strategically tolerable” looks like when you apply it to the most load-bearing part of your identity* The blind spot audit that finally named what I’d been doing* What it feels like the day after you say the true thing. And how your nervous system tells you whether it was rightIt’s about 4 minutes. No slides. No framework. Just a voice memo from the day after. If you haven’t read the essay yet, start there. Then come back and listen to this. They’re meant to be read and heard together. Not because one explains the other, but because they’re two different registers of the same truth. And if something in either piece names something you’ve been keeping quiet about your own work, I’d be glad to hear from you.DM me. Real human. No funnel.Just a conversation. Thanks for tuning in to The Voice of the Wild One! This audio field note is a refusal. Not of growth. But of growth that creates nervous system debt.In this episode of The Voice of the Wild One, I speak directly to the quiet moment after success… the moment when something inside pulls back, not from fear, but from discernment. This is for the leaders, founders, and creators who’ve learned (maybe the hard way) that not all expansion is inhabitable… and that the body always knows the cost before the mind can justify it.Inside this field note, I explore:* Why “self-sabotage” is often somatic due diligence, not fear* The difference between scaling revenue and scaling regulation* Perfectionism as architectural intelligence, not a pathology to heal* How sacred sales filter for self-responsible, resourced clients* What it means to design a business your nervous system can actually live inside* Why urgency-based growth creates a bill that always comes due laterThis is not a sales strategy. It’s a consent check.A reminder that your timing is not broken.Your pauses are not problems. And your body is allowed to veto any version of success that requires ongoing self-abandonment.This field note is for you if:* You’ve grown a business that looked good but felt costly* You slow down right before (or after) expansion - and have been told that’s a flaw* You want clients who arrive regulated, resourced, and self-responsible* You are done performing momentum that leaves you braced afterward* You want sales to feel like coherence, not containmentListen if you’re ready to remember this truth:You don’t scale what you can’t stand to live inside. You design what can hold you—and let the right people find you there.🎧 Listen to the full audio field note ☝📩 Subscribe to receive future Voice of the Wild One drops This is a public episode. Your system always knows before you do.There’s a moment - quiet, almost imperceptible - when your nervous system refuses to step back into the identity you’ve outgrown. Not burnout. Not lack of discipline. Not resistance.Just a clean internal no that you can ignore only at your own expense. Thanks for tuning into The Voice of the Wild One on The Quiet Reset. I almost didn’t record this. The truth felt too small to be worth sharing…and that’s exactly why it needed to be said. This voice note is a glimpse into the middle of my Habit Mechanic journey. That fragile space between resolve and retreat. It’s about the part of me that still wants to run when things stop feeling exciting… and what happens when I don’t.I didn’t edit this.I didn’t re-record.I just spoke - the way you might if someone finally asked, “How are you, really?”🎧 What this episode explores:* Why collapse isn’t failure, it’s feedback* The nervous system’s quiet rebellion against perfection* The small, sacred act of staying when you want to disappearIf you’ve ever paused something that mattered - not because you didn’t care, but because caring hurt, this one’s for you.(Press play. There’s a version of perfectionism that looks like professionalismbut it’s really self-protection.It keeps your business polished but your body in tension. It keeps your offers clear but your energy guarded. It convinces you that control equals credibility when what your clients actually crave is coherence. In this week’s Voice of the Wild One, I share a raw field note on:✨ The somatic roots of perfectionism and self-sabotage loops✨ Why your nervous system (not your marketing) determines sales conversion✨ The subtle difference between protection and professionalism✨ How to lead, sell, and create from safety instead of survivalThis one isn’t about showing up more. It’s about showing up truer.🎧 Listen now → If this message landed somewhere deep - that’s your body recognizing truth.
