Kenan
Hello and welcome to this car pod.
Doug
I'm Kenan.
Filippo
I'm Filippo and there's a lot to cover.
Kenan
So let's start with the news. Yes, the ZR1X has been announced and it's a really big thing. It's a 1250 horsepower Corvette. They've taken the ZR1 and like a lot of people were expecting, they added the E Ray hybrid all wheel drive situation which bumped the power from 1064 to 1250. So there's a ZR1. You can say, oh, you knew Corvette. Is it a ZR1? No, it's a ZR1X.
Filippo
Yeah.
Kenan
This thing's going to be pretty insane.
Doug
You must be thrilled.
Filippo
I do love every Corvette variant and I do legitimately love the E Ray. So this is a nice combination of things.
Doug
You do love the E Ray?
Filippo
Who doesn't love the E Ray?
Kenan
The market doesn't love the E Ray. But I just.
Filippo
They're wrong.
Kenan
Yeah, I think they're wrong. The E Ray is cool.
Filippo
Is so it's like it's going to be able to maintain 1g of force of acceleration until 85 miles an hour. From 0 to 85. It'll maintain more than, than, than 1g of acceleration, which is crazy. Under 2 seconds, 060 time. Under 9 second standing quarter quarter mile, 150 mile an hour traffic.
Kenan
It's running eights with, in the 150s.
Filippo
Yeah.
Kenan
Factory.
Filippo
Yeah.
Kenan
Warranty.
Filippo
It's a wild, wild, wild card car. I have some questions. So it's going to be for sale by the end of 2025. Pricing not yet announced. What is 01 pricing? 01 pricing is 180 ish. I imagine it'll be more than that. 200 it says the first Corvette to cross 200 grand. Maybe. I do have some questions about why it's for. Why it's being announced right now is the, the 01's not really available yet. It's like, will this steal sales from that? I don't know. Maybe.
Doug
I just don't think. I think it's such a different. It's just such a different vehicle.
Kenan
No, I mean there will be people who now wait on a ZR1 to get a ZR1X. But I don't know. I. The Corvettes ultimately has been out for six years, so at some point there's, you know, you got to kind of start moving things along. There's probably a facelift coming. They did that interior facelift like this is. That is an absolutely monstrous, monstrous number. You know when Corvette was redesigned. I went to the product launch and they made a big thing. It was in Vegas, which is fitting. And they made a big thing about how the move to mid engine was in part because they were running out of. They were reaching the limits of what they could do with a front engine, rear wheel drive car and chassis and engineering setup. And they wanted the ability to expand and do more. And mid engine gave them that. And this car and the ZR1 are such proof of exactly what they were talking about. Like you were never going to make a 1250 horsepower C7, you know, like OE, but with mid engine and with all wheel drive and with the hybrid system, you know, powering the front wheels, you actually have the ability to do that. Which is why a lot of the craziest powerful cars are mid engine. And here we're seeing it like this is the Corvette of the Corvettes. Like anybody who doesn't think the Corvette is now has reached supercar territory. Here it is. I mean, it's kind of hard to deny at this point. At over 200 grand and at 1200 horsepower.
Filippo
I'm sure we haven't seen the fastest version of the Revelto and the other kind of modern crop of hybrid supercars, but this is going to be half the price. A third the price of a revolto and be faster. 060 have 250 more horsepower than that. Still be not just electric. I'm trying to think of other gas powered cars that are put out this much power that are readily available.
Doug
Yeah, I think I remember reading Even when the ZR1 came out for its price, there's nothing that comes close to if you want to go 200 miles an hour. I mean for the price there is nothing.
Kenan
Yeah, well, I mean from an acceleration horsepower perspective, of course there's the Teslas, of course. Yeah.
Filippo
But like there's a bunch of full evs that do that. But I can't think of any other gas powered cars that come close, especially sports cars.
Kenan
I mean, you know, the Corvettes. The Corvettes. USP has always been that it is like the value prop compared to, you know, Porsches and Ferraris. But like it was always, you know, it was an era where all cars were slower. Now here's a car that is zero to 60 in under two seconds. I mean, Filippo can't even handle that. Kenan.
Filippo
I don't think I can. I don't think I can. That's accurate.
Kenan
Turn into liquid. Kenan. I would turn into liquid.
Doug
Wow. An actual beef.
Kenan
A liquid.
Doug
Philippe Flo.
Filippo
This is just insane.
Kenan
Right?
Filippo
Like a Corvette. Chevy dealers must be thrilled because this is a true Halo product in a way that the Corvette hasn't been for a bit.
Kenan
Chevy dealers are probably thrilled. But the thing is these cars are all sold out. And what Chevy dealers would really be thrilled by is a really great demand market demand shift in market demand for EVs, but that ain't coming. Felipe, why don't you tell us about the Wagoneer thing? That's the real news story of the week.
Filippo
Yeah, it turns out that you can. You can lease a Wagoneer S. So the electric Jeep for zero money down. Zero money down. And $299 a month. That's a 600 horsepower, 3.5 seconds. Zero to 60. Brand new SUV for 299amonth.
Kenan
Is that the cheapest way to beat a Enzo? 0 to 60. All right, what's our next news story? That's only 7,200 bucks. Speaking of cheap, what is this going to cost?
Filippo
This is. Okay, let me first say what it is. This is the new Nissan Leaf. So you might remember the Leaf as the car that nobody cares about, despite it being the first real EV to market.
Doug
Yes.
Kenan
In the US this was the Model T of electric cars. Damn. It paved the way.
Filippo
It did. It did. It's now in the third generation after everybody forgot the second generation existed. And it's now like a more crossover one. It's going to start in the mid-30s, mid $30,000 range. We're going to have 300 miles of range. And it is very exciting for you. Kenan, do you want to guess how much horsepower it will produce?
Doug
Let me see a wild guess. I feel like it's going to be in the 350 range.
Filippo
Up to 214 horsepower.
Doug
Up to 214 hard ceiling.
Filippo
They're not going for speed. They're going for.
Doug
I mean, going for forward motion would be nice. Like 214.
Filippo
214 is more hardcore than most of my cars.
Kenan
How do these automakers justify holding back the performance level of their electric cars considering that it is so easy to attain power with EVs? And other manufacturers aren't holding back their.
Filippo
Performance in this case, they're certainly going for price. And the model they've announced has just a single motor. It's a single front mounted motor instead of the like motor in wheels that the more expensive EVs are going to, where you can increment power kind of infinitely.
Kenan
Yeah, but single motor efficiency. But what does a cheap model 3 cost? And has more power than this thing. 214. Come on. Plus you can get this model 3 performance on carsandbids.com folks. Carsandbids.com for like 14 smooth used EVs.
Filippo
Are going to be the big problem for every EV manufacturer because they just are not holding value and so they're incredibly attractive dealers. A couple more things about this Leaf. It's like a massive departure in terms of styling from the old one. It's like a coupe, SUV type look. It is fun fact. Shorter than the last Leaf which is already a pretty small car. So this is going to be small like I'm thinking Toyota Chr sized for those that. That resonates with which is nobody listening to this podcast. And it's a new EV from Nissan. Can you name the other Nissan?
Kenan
I thought it was an suv. It looks like the Ariya. It's not an suv.
Filippo
It's like SUV shaped esque. Coupe SUV shape.
Kenan
But it looks like. You know what it looks like is the crown. The Toyota crown.
Filippo
It does. It does. The Ariya is Nissan's other su. Other EV which is like a larger rounder suv. This is smaller.
Doug
It's actually very good. I think it's a nice looking car. Just 214 horsepower.
Kenan
35. Dude, you actually made an interesting point just now. Aren't used cars a problem for EVs? What about that? Used EVs? It used to be that people didn't want to buy used cars because they were unreliable. Right. And that was like the reason that they. Well wait a minute. Used EVs, they're not unreliable necessarily. Why can't we. Why would you buy that instead of. What are these? What are we selling model Threes for?
Doug
They gotta be performance one for 16 grand.
Filippo
Performance.
Kenan
Yeah.
Doug
Model three. No. Model three performance has a lot of miles. But still.
Kenan
But also performance still. But still. Still go to the lowest price.
Doug
21.
Filippo
Yeah. I mean you can get three year old ones for 20 for low 20s all day.
Kenan
Flippo. Are these under 10 yet?
Filippo
I don't think I see one under 10. But I think the tax credit, EUCV tax credit might apply for some mileage.
Kenan
If I get a high mileage. 17. What is it? What did this one sell for?
Doug
15. Five for one. 132,000.
Kenan
It's getting there.
Filippo
Model 3 long range model S's you can get very close.
Kenan
Yeah. And those do have some reliability. Okay, that's the new Nissan Leaf. Kind of dull. What other news stories you got anything fun?
Filippo
What's the next Kevin?
Doug
Ah yes. So Honda, Honda has recently announced that they're going to start making components for older cars. Now, I think this is a big deal because it shows that they're willing to support their legacy vehicles that exist. It was kind of hinted at the NSX as one of those cars, like important cars from their past. And I think this is a huge deal, as someone who owns an aging performance car from another brand, that a lot of parts are no longer available. And I don't mean like, oh, it's hard to get. Nope, they're gone. That's it. And that is unbelievably infuriating for like, basically you're looking at your five. I'm looking straight down the barrel of my M5.
Kenan
Well, yeah, but so you just buy a parts car. That's what Filippo and I do with our TR6s.
Filippo
That's what I did with my 1994 Honda Accord. Yeah, right.
Doug
Because those.
Kenan
Yeah, the problem is it gets stolen. Right.
Doug
With a spoon. But the thing is, I'm happy to hear that they are considering doing this because it means that they're willing to invest in the legacy of their brand. And a lot of some manufacturers are very good at this. Mercedes Benz Classic is wonderful at this. Porsche Classic is great at this. Audi and BMW are awful at this. And a lot of brands that have built, have these great past cars just don't support them. And it means that it's harder for enthusiasts like us to keep them on the road. So the fact that Honda is even willing to Explore this with 3D printing and new production techniques of making these old components, that either contracts have run out with manufacturers that produce it for them is a big deal, especially at that level. And again, this is a company that sells millions of cars a year and they don't really have to be concerned with this, but the fact that they care enough about cars like the NSX or, you know, or the, you know, like cars of that ill, the integrity is the car.
Filippo
Yeah, I do agree with your point. Like, this is all about legacy. And can you, like, for the vast majority of owners of NSXs, they put miles on it. They're not going to try to keep it perfect. But if you have like a really low mile perfect one and you want support from the factory to keep it pristine, to fix the things that maybe age out, if you want the legacy of like, we have the coolest old cars that are perfect, that have been perfected, that have been restored, eventually you need manufacturing support.
Kenan
What I would say is there's no real reason to want that legacy unless you maybe have some products upcoming are that are part of the lineage, you know what I mean? Like what does Honda care what happens to the NSX later in life unless they want people to buy a new one. And those people think that Honda still cares about these cars and performance and supporting them in resale value and reliability.
Doug
Right.
Kenan
So I wouldn't be surprised if there's something to that. I also was very disappointed when this news story started. They showed a picture, you guys showed a picture of the old nsx and Kenan started by saying Honda has announced that they're going to produce. And I was like oh it's coming. And then now they're going to make parts.
Doug
No, sorry, yeah, not, not quite there yet. Maybe next week. But for now it's, I'm very excited about this for on behalf of Honda owners because I understand exactly what that means and boy I wish BMW would wake up and actually give some support to their classic vehicles. But nonetheless I think that it's a. I think this is, this is great and I hope more manufacturers do this. And Honda is very good at making like understands that they need to make parts of high quality, not just like to make the parts. So I think it's very good news for Honda people.
Kenan
I fear that my Ford GT door latch will stop working or any of.
Doug
The gauges or a tail light.
Kenan
No, no lights are available. The door latch unavailable in la. Let me tell you something, if that door doesn't latch, I can't, I.
Doug
You're just gonna have to dukes a hazard. It's hard enough to get into that car with the doors that do open. So for you to not have an opening door makes it pretty tough.
Kenan
Now is. Has anyone ever had a door latch fail? No.
Doug
All right guys, real talk. Brunt Workwear is back as a sponsor and while I've not always been a boots guy, I have to say that these boots blew me away. I got the Marin boots and the second I put them on I was like wait, wait, wait wait, am I even wearing boots? How are they this comfortable? Most work boots feel like concrete blocks for the first week. But not these. No break in needed, just straight up comfort and durability. They're made for more than just walking. Instead of wearing them around for the uncomfortable break in period, I was walking around my house wearing them like sneakers. Just good looking real boots with actual comfort. Brunt was founded by a guy named Eric Girard and he grew up as a salt of the earth blue collar guy and built this brand for real workers. That's why these boots are named after guys he grew up with. It's personal and it shows whether you need waterproof safety toe pull on, lace up. Brunt's got you covered. And they've got more than just boots. Heavy duty workwear that is built to last. Brunt didn't just make a durable work boot. They reinvented comfort for the hardest workers out there. And for a limited time, our listeners get $10 off Brunt by using code Cars at checkout. Just head to bruntworkware.com and use the code CARS, that's C A R S and you're all set. After purchase, they will ask you where you heard about them. Please support our show by telling them that you heard about them from us and enjoy your pair of Brunt work.
Kenan
Bo Move on to our next news story. Please, please.
Doug
Ooh, a Jeep driving over some dirt.
Filippo
All right, so here's the story.
Kenan
Tell us about this one.
Filippo
Part of the bill that the House and the Senate are reconciling, part of the big beautiful bill is that they're mandating as part of that bill, which has not yet passed, has not been finalized, has not yet been been signed by the president. Want to make that really clear. They're mandating that the Bureau of land Management, the BLM, and the U.S. forest Service sell more than 2 million acres of public land over the next five years and are allowed to sell up to 258 million acres of of land. This is primarily almost entirely land to the in, like the far western state in the Southwest and up the West Coast. Here's the connection to cars. There's fundamentally a political story, but there is a deep connection to cars, which is a lot of car enthusiasts use BLM land, especially if you're from the West. If you're from the east coast, you might not recognize how much public land there is kind of west of New Mexico. But a lot of enthusiasts out here use that land to go off roading, to go camping, to go exploring, to take long road trips. Matt Ferreir of the Smoking Tire famously has done a bunch of those. And that land might become private. And once it's private, certainly by most accounts will not be available to enthusiasts to drive on, will not be available for off roading, will not be available for hiking, etc. Something that a lot of people with their Wranglers, with the Subaruvs that we're going to be talking about are out there doing, which could be really sad if you're into off roading. This might legitimately impact your ability to use public land for that purpose.
Kenan
Yeah, I agree. Public land is the greatest gift that the western United States. The only benefit that the western United States has over the eastern United States, aside from lack of humidity. And I grew up around tons of public land, and I was astonished when I learned that some of these other places don't have it. People in the east don't understand. You can just. And this is something I was told even this is. The Republicans are mainly pushing this through. This is something I've been. A lot of conservative friends of mine are actually the ones who are users of this land. They like to go out and shoot their guns and drive their truck and, you know, 2 million acres is nothing in the grand scheme, but if hundreds of millions of acres are potentially sold, that could be sad. We do it, we take our cars. I mean, I've taken the G wagon and the other cars just off. In California, you get far enough out, you can just kind of turn off the road and just go. And there's no one around to stop you. And there's nothing. No rules, really. You just do what you want. And so that's an interesting situation.
Filippo
It's an incredible resource that might very well be sold as part of the. Of this legislation. Some of it will have to be.
Kenan
Sold as part of it. Filippo.
Filippo
I don't know that I really have a purpose for any of it. Now the theory, by the way, and what Republicans in Congress are advocating for, is this could make money, right? You sell the land so for money. There could also be housing built on some of this land. Of course, most of the land is quite far from any place people want to live. If you actually look at where this land is located, very small percentage is near a city, so it's questionable, kind of from outside reports, how much would actually be able to be sold for real amounts of revenue for the federal government. But it would mean certainly the loss of a lot of off roading, camping. Nature land.
Kenan
Nature. The bears, you know, bears, Bears.
Doug
The bears. Well, he's from Chicago.
Filippo
He knows.
Doug
I'm not from Chicago, I'm from Cleveland. Give me a break. Unbelievable.
Kenan
Hey, remember, if it's brown, lay down. If it's black, fight back. And if it's white, you're dead.
Doug
You're dead.
Kenan
Give us the next news story.
Filippo
Speaking of Subaru EVs, and you have a new.
Kenan
I heard that because he's never seen a bear. He doesn't know what.
Doug
He doesn't know what a bear Is. Yeah, that's right.
Filippo
Fun fact. When I first moved to the U.S. we moved to western Massachusetts, there were brown bears at our door most mornings.
Kenan
Did you? No. You mean black bears.
Filippo
Black bears, yes.
Doug
Black bears are very like social.
Filippo
They're kind of the kid people really.
Doug
Know nothing about animals.
Filippo
I know nothing about animals. All right.
Kenan
Grizzly bears were parading. They were walking into Boston.
Doug
They were the famed Boston grizzlies.
Filippo
Western Mass. A few weeks ago, we talked about the Subaru Trail Seeker, which is the wagon version of the Subaru solterra. And Toyota BZ, formerly the BZ4X. Now Toyota has now announced their version of that to nobody's surprise, which is going to be called the BZ Woodland. And it's a station wagon SUV thing. 375 horsepower, up to 260 miles of range, all wheel drive. It's fundamentally a wagon version of that ev. But here's the cool thing. Toyota now sells two station wagons and no enthusiasts care, even though they should. But Toyota truly sells two station wagons. And no other manufacturer right now sells two station wagons.
Kenan
I saw one of them Crown Signias just today.
Filippo
Yep, there's a Crown Signature, which is a hybrid.
Kenan
Station wagon though is unappealing.
Filippo
This is pretty appealing if we're being honest. I don't not interested in either, but both exist and that's.
Kenan
Why are you not interested in this one? It has, it's, it's got big power, it's got four wheel drive, it's got decent range. It's going to be affordable. What's wrong with this?
Filippo
Nothing wrong with it. It looks better than a super version problem.
Kenan
Dude, you're right. Actually, you know what?
Filippo
You're right. I am into it. I think you think that.
Kenan
Yeah. Yeah. If Wagoneer S's are leasing at 299 with 0 down, this is like an 84amonth car. Like I, I really think you're going to be in cell phone.
Filippo
You know what? I'm into it. And once the Crown Signal becomes cheap, I will maybe be into it.
Kenan
I don't think the Crown Signature is that desirable, but this car has power. Like, this is going to actually be like a pretty enjoyable car. And from an acceleration like if you could have this or an outback wilderness, this is kind of an appealing alternative, no?
Filippo
Yeah. If an EV works for your outback lifestyle. Yeah. The Crown Signal, by the way, it's kind of appealing if you're shopping for an outback or equivalent. It's similar size, way better fuel economy. Doesn't look Bad. I mean, I'm into the crown signature.
Kenan
And EV does work for my outdoor lifestyle because my outdoor lifestyle is mainly centered around going to Western Massachusetts to find grizzly bear.
Filippo
All right, moving on.
Kenan
You never know, Ken, and you never know.
Doug
I mean, I spent my time going to the UP to find bears.
Kenan
Might storm Albany. By the way, speaking of Albany, you know what the real news story of the week is? Have you guys been following the mayor's election in New York City?
Filippo
Sure.
Kenan
Okay. New York City mayor's gone. They're up for election. Okay? And this happens every few years. And what happens is many, many people run and they're all universally agreed to be terrible candidates, and then they end up with so in bet. And that's been true the last time.
Filippo
That is the story of New York this time.
Kenan
However. However, I have learned an interesting fact. The front runner in the race is this fellow named Andrew Cuomo, who you may remember, he was the governor and then he had to resign because he sexually assaulted all sorts of people. And you'd think that would be disqualifying, but somehow it is not. But the point of this is, you know what he drives. Did we talk about this?
Filippo
You mentioned it, but I forgot.
Kenan
He drives Dodge charger widebody scat pack 392. And he's been getting school zone speed limit tickets all over the city.
Filippo
Oh, I expect nothing less.
Kenan
And this muscle car, he's up in there, you know, he's. He's disgraced governor driving around in this thing. He's come to fire your dad.
Doug
Do you think he's white line certified? He's part of swim club, you know, just cutting up the.
Kenan
Maybe he is. Maybe he is.
Doug
I think he is.
Kenan
Maybe he's doing that anyway. Filippo. You don't have any commentary on that?
Filippo
No.
Kenan
You don't have any commentary on the. God, Filippo's too. He's afraid of getting into any political anything. But I mean, look, Andrew Cuomo's got a Charger 392. Do with that what you want. Some people are going to be like, I'm voting for him. And some people are going to be like, you know what? I think I'm not going to vote for him.
Filippo
Now, all I'll say that the most recent mayoral winner lives in New Jersey and is. Is maybe a vegan. So, like, I would associate him with owning a charter Scat pack. So where does Andrew Cuomo live? You know, that's the question.
Kenan
He doesn't live in New York. None of these people can find their Way to New York City. That's the other thing. Okay, all right, we got to move on. I don't know why we're talking about New York. Nobody here has ever been in New York. Is there. Are there other news stories?
Filippo
Yes, there is.
Kenan
Oh, here's.
Filippo
There's a story that only I care about, but I really want to talk about it.
Kenan
That's a great intro for a news story. Filippo for a. Well, thank you.
Filippo
I'm really trying to try to draw interest into it.
Doug
Sounds like another Filippo news story to.
Filippo
Came across an article last week about byd, Build your dreams, which is a large Chinese automaker. Their executive vice president, Stella Li stated that China's electric vehicle price war is very extreme, not sustainable. And she predicts that there'll be consolidation in the sector because of these kind of very, very insane price wars. Basically, BYD kicked off a bunch of price discounting for their EVs that has made every other competitor in the Chinese EV space lower their prices, throw in additional incentives, and basically just fully erode their margins. BYD has cash.
Kenan
This is a more interesting news story than I was expecting. You know, we've been talking because we've had a few of these Chinese EVs here in the. In the studio and we filmed a few videos with them. We got another one coming up in a couple of weeks and we've been talking about how can they deliver these cars at this price point. And it turns out the answer is.
Filippo
They don't make any money. Yep. So BYD has very much kicked us off their best position to handle a price war, fundamentally of the Chinese. But the Chinese government has stepped in to intervene in specific cases to prop up some manufacturers that were going out of business as a result of this because they were burning too much money. BYD has gained market share as a result. But they are basically predicting at some point this will have to end. There will have to be consolidation, there will have to be fewer manufacturers. That might also mean less innovation, might in the future mean higher prices. If this level of pricing is not sustainable now, in the short term, good is byd.
Kenan
So is the implication that BYD is intentionally trying to undercut automakers to force them out of like, is this like an anti competitive thing? Is that kind of what's being said? No.
Filippo
So this is somebody from BYD saying this is not going to be sustainable. And their stock price has taken a little bit of a hit as their profits have really gone down because their.
Kenan
Profitability kind of is that the big winner is going to Be able to kind of steal. Right. Because if BYD can kind of get ahead of this and like, and, like, outlast smaller companies that can't wait and not make as much money. Okay, interesting. It's also sort of like a monopoly situation.
Filippo
Yeah. It's also led to a situation where BYD and some others are investing heavily in markets outside of China because fundamentally, they need to to make enough money per vehicle. They can certainly charge a little bit more in other markets where there isn't that same level of price competition.
Kenan
Yeah.
Filippo
But it'll be interesting to see what happens.
Kenan
What was that in the Jakarta market? You can.
Filippo
Yeah, yeah. For example. No, I really meant Europe. But Jakarta market, certainly major for them as well. It'll be interesting to see what happens. Like, Chinese EVs have taken over market share, market share in China dramatically. They've really increased EV adoption. The low prices have certainly helped that. If it's not sustainable, where does that go? Becomes a real question.
Kenan
Yeah, and this is surprising, neither of us, because we spent time in these cars and they're such excellent cars. And it's like, how are they delivered at this price point? And that's an interesting thing, and it makes some sense. We'll see. Maybe the Americans aren't as far behind the Chinese as we thought.
Filippo
No, we are.
Doug
Well, our cars can't float yet, so there's that.
Kenan
That's true. Our cars can't float, nor can they jump.
Filippo
Talk to LBJ about that.
Kenan
You remember that, Forrest. Forrest did a video. Is everybody here watching? Forrest? You saw the forest video where the car jumps?
Filippo
I have not seen that one.
Doug
Do the thing where. It's an amazing video. You need to watch that.
Kenan
Have you seen this, Filippo? He went into China and did the jumping car. He's in China with the jumping car. You got to see it.
Filippo
I will watch it. Force Auto Reviews.
Kenan
Reviews. We're shouting him out today. He's our sponsor. No, he's actually not. But we like him. All right, move on to our last news story, please.
Filippo
Here at this Car Pod, we're friends on and off camera. One of the best parts of our week, every week is our group car dinner. It's a tradition we never miss. And this week's sponsor, Cash app has made the one awkward part of the night splitting the bill so much easier. Because, let's be honest, splitting the bill used to suck. Everyone pulling out their wallets, trying to do the math while the waiter hovers, arguing over who's going to pay. It was always weirdly stressful. Doug
Shipping cars. Now, Doug, you've shipped quite a few cars across the country. It's something that we all have had to deal with at some point or another.
Filippo
And we actually run by cars located within a mile.
Doug
That's right. Filippo doesn't buy cars that aren't located at the end of his street. But we've run an auction company that deals with a lot of shipping of cars. And recently there has been some concern in the news that shipping cars has become kind of dangerous. There is a crime ring that was recently shut down. About a month ago, there were 12 people involved that were shipping cars out of the country, that were intercepting cars and shipping them out of the country. And so I got in contact with our shipping partner, Pal Ph to talk about this because I was curious about it. Most of the time the cars being targeted are very high dollar value, like cars like McLarens, the Urus, like a very high end SUVs, but like that sort of thing is what's being targeted. And they told me that all of the top shippers in the country have actually come together over this issue and have actually independently formed their own council to keep things. To keep an eye on top of things. And they've run into like a couple of different scams that are coming up. One is like the lucky guest scam where like someone will actually just go to a dealer and say, I'm here to pick up a car they've seen listed either like, but. And like having worked at a dealership, I know how this works. They're like, all right, it's sold. Give the keys, it's gone. They don't care. The second they got their money, they're done.
Kenan
Are shockingly available at car dealerships.
Doug
Shockingly available. So like one way around that, of course, is dealers can verify the information. But I've. I've seen some stuff at car dealers and I know that happens to be a spot that's tough. Hacking is also something that has happened where they've gotten credentials to people's accounts for various boards and they're able to sort of mess around with things and change locations of where cars as are going. That's pretty common. Part stealing is another one where a car will get picked up. They'll steal parts off of it and deliver it and the parts are just missing from the car, which is kind of weird. And then ransom situations where there's like some confusing. Like they might put. A shipper will put out a rate that seems good, you'll select that, they'll take it, and then they'll hold your car for ransom. So.
Kenan
Wow.
Doug
So PO has been mitigating this by their background research on people is unbelievable.
Filippo
Before you can like be a shipper that works for them.
Doug
It's incredible. Now the documentation can be faked, but the systems they're using to pick up the slightest inconsistency between pieces of documentation is extreme. I was shocked at how deep they go. Even if you change something within a certain period of time, like an address or even just you change a period in something for an abbreviation, they pick it up and it's flagged in their system, that level of detail with stuff. And they're also verifying IP addresses of where stuff is being submitted from. Is it consistent throughout that they're looking for? And they're monitoring people like DOT numbers and all of this stuff. So they've been doing a ton of that stuff. They've also. Whenever a car of this ilk is being shipped, they flag it in their system to extra scrutinize everything that goes on around it. And having Delivered like, a number of cars that have been picked up at the cars and bids office for the shipper. They send me all of the information of. Here's what the vehicle looks like. Here's the person's name. Here's their DOT number. Verify all of that before you release the car. So I've done all that stuff directly from them, which has been. Which has been really, really useful. They're also working on more like, GPS stuff on, like, tracking cars. So you can see as a person who has a car that, like, okay, here's exactly where it is. In the past, Doug and I have done a really great act, which is put a. An airtag in your car like it's being shipped. And that is wonderful because you can. This is kind of fun. You can see it across the country. It's kind of cool.
Filippo
Let your driver know.
Doug
Yeah, let your driver know. Exactly. And they've been.
Kenan
So.
Doug
They've been doing a lot of work around mitigating that. Unfortunately, the recourse for people who do have their cars stolen is difficult. The cars move pretty fast, and once they're gone, they're usually exported pretty quickly. Usually going for the eastern block of Europe, somewhere in Africa, the typical place these cars get sold to. But the point that PAL made is they're cutting it off early. And so far in their time, they have not experienced a single car that has been stolen during the shipping period, which is, again, why I'm very happy that we're partners with them. But it is fascinating to me that this has galvanized an entire industry that kind of struggles with shipping. It's not the most pleasant part of selling a car, but the really great actors within that business are really focused on eliminating this issue. And they're doing, to my understanding, like, they're doing a great job. They have conferences about this. They all stay in touch. They have a database of bad actors. They know where the bad people are. So, like, if you go through one of these reputable companies to ship it, and we make it very easy on Carson to do so, like you, it really mitigates a substantial amount of that concern.
Filippo
That's good to know.
Kenan
Interesting.
Filippo
That's good info.
Kenan
Interesting. I have been a little concerned about that. We've been hearing more and more reports of, you know, whatever it is hacking or the car gets sent to, someone picks it up and takes it to wherever.
Doug
It's a lot. You do have to be careful. In my understanding, it's a lot of the person who's shipping the car doing your Own due diligence, like making sure. Like, just check the basic things and like, communicate with the shipping company. Like, it's. It's pretty easy to do. And you'd be surprised at the small steps you can take to avoid this happening to you. It's when you just sort of do things in a blase eye way that you get into trouble. And it can certainly happen.
Kenan
Shipping, maybe. I mean, I think some of these people try to. They do as much diligence as they know to do. But I think the point of this is, like, do more. Like. I don't think that everybody who's gotten scammed so far has been blase or negligent. But I think that now that we know that this is going on, especially, it's important to be like, particularly on.
Doug
Top of both dealers and private sellers. You have to. You just have to be careful.
Filippo
I will say I was part of setting up our agreement with. With Patler, our shipping partner in cars. With shipping, it's like an. As an entity. And so I did a bunch of research like insurance and what kind of things you need to do. And it's complicated. We made a really big point working, working with PAL to make sure that kind of every shipment was insured to the level it needed to be. But that's not true of, like, if you just go out and book shipping through any, like, the larger dealer shipping brokerage sites. It's complicated and none of it makes that much sense. And I can very much imagine that if you've been impacted, every person is pointing you to somebody else to actually get your restitution, to figure out who's liable. It becomes a real nightmare.
Kenan
Yeah.
Doug
And a lot of shippers will get something and then they'll send out to a subcontractor which violates their principles. And they don't allow that to happen. And so, yeah, it becomes hard to keep track of who actually dealt with my car.
Filippo
Yeah. Used cars with just shipping. They're. They're great because of the steps that they're taking here. But it's been a wild story to watch.
Doug
Exactly. I'm not just saying that because we're partnered with them, like, actually getting to talk to their team and like, they walk me through what they're doing. Like, I was genuinely very impressed as someone who's worked in this industry for almost a decade now is impressed with it.
Kenan
It's been a while.
Filippo
So it was in the news again this week. That's why we're talking about it for a coup. Car stolen from Dealerships. Transition between dealerships. And those dealers are fighting amongst themselves now to figure out who did something wrong to get to that point, because it's crazy story.
Doug
Start with the salesman who is just like, yep, get this thing out. That's probably where it starts.
Kenan
We got to move on to our next segment, which is the talk car segment. In this segment, what do we do, Filippo? We talk about bears.
Doug
You could use an education.
Kenan
It sounds like the talk car segment is brought to you by the hats that are behind me. Now. I want to tell you a little story. Our producer, his name is Sean. He is a bad G wagon, bad colored. He. I think he still has it. He doesn't like that the hats are behind me. Comment your opinions below. Can we do something about the hats? He says, hey, can we. Can we get those hats out of there? What about the sweatshirts?
Filippo
Sean, have you made any comments about the elephant or no? Is the elephant okay?
Kenan
I think he's okay with the elephant because it's whimsical, and I don't think he thinks the hats are whimsical. I think he thinks I'm recording this in a closet, which is true. Okay, I don't have any talk cars, but Felipe wants to tell us about his experience with a Chevy Suburban, which I'm sure will be simulating.
Filippo
It will. Thank you. Last week, I drove from D.C. to Cape Cod. We were with some friends, and so I needed to rent a car to do that drive because we're gonna. We're going one. One way. And I was traveling with my wife and a friend and that friend's two children, two young children. So I knew I'd have a lot of stuff. So I did the rational thing and went to book a car to rent, and I wanted a minivan, but I'm me. And renting an executive SUV or premium SUV or whatever they called it was a hundred dollars cheaper, so. Oh, wow.
Kenan
That's why this happened.
Filippo
Yeah. Yeah, that's why this happened. I really wanted a Chrysler Pacifica, but instead I ended up with a Chevy Suburban Z71. A brand new Chevy Suburban Z71 had, like 2,000 miles on it. And, you know, before you get into.
Kenan
The Suburban thing, can we talk about why you like the Pacifica so much relative to the other van?
Doug
It's a great many.
Filippo
Oh, oh, no, no.
Kenan
I.
Filippo
To be clear, it's not the best vans, just the only van that I expect at a rental car company.
Kenan
Okay, but you have previously said that, like, if your dream car is like a plug in Pacifica.
Filippo
Like, it's the only one that's a plug in hybrid. Hybrid. It's the only minivan plug in hybrid.
Kenan
It's like a real hybrid. And the plug in Pacificas are all. They're all causing all sorts of problems.
Filippo
That's the reason I don't own one. But it's still the best one. It's so good. It's such a good automobile. I've had many rental Chrysler Pacificas and they're all great.
Doug
I was on a trip recently, had a Pacifica S. It was actually very good. And our producer talked about its great chassis dynamics on the racetrack.
Filippo
Yeah, there you go.
Doug
Not what I expected to hear.
Filippo
Automotive filmmaker has hustled a Chrysler Pacifica around a racetrack. And they all love it, truly. And Filippo's a track guy and I'm a track guy.
Doug
Now get back to the Suburban.
Filippo
All right, so I drove the Z71 Suburban all up Interstate 95 throughout the Northeast and it was great. The new one has like a full wraparound screen. It's quite good. Huge carplay. It's so big. And it was also the quietest vehicle I've driven in a long time. Like the, the noise isolation they've done it has been notable. I haven't driven like a new car in a while. I don't do new cars. Except for, I guess GTI is not that old. But like, I haven't driven like a large new suv, but it was quieter than my Mercedes wagon, which truly surprised me. And it's really fixed a lot of, like, the old SUV problems. The ride was still a little tough, especially with large bumps. It's a huge vehicle that's made to toe and haul things. So the ride empty is a little tough.
Kenan
I mean, ultimately it's a body frame.
Filippo
Truck, but it was much better than I expected, truly. Notably better than I expected in every way. So, yeah, I get why people buy it.
Kenan
The Sequoia is still better.
Filippo
I don't know that that's true. We compared notes and the Sequoia probably got like a mile or two per gallon better than the Suburban. The Suburban is gigantic and not hybrid.
Kenan
It depends on what you're looking for. But I'm ultimately, I'm looking for resale value and reliability. And I think that a lot of people who buy Suburbans aren't. And I think if you're not, the Suburban is probably better. And honestly, I feel that way about most Toyota trucks and SUVs. There are better options than almost every single one of them, unless resale value and reliability are what you're thinking.
Filippo
Do people have issues with Suburban? It's been the same motor for 100 years.
Kenan
Whether or not people have issues, the market feels that they do and will and punishes them heavily in terms of resale value and used Suburbans versus used Toyota trucks. It's not even like a question. And plus like just from your experience, I mean look at, look at the interior of a 10 year old Suburban.
Filippo
Like yeah, it was tough stuff.
Kenan
Just wears faster and worse. I love General Motors. I've had many Cadillac CTSVs 12 first gen but general Motors just the the level quality just quite isn't quite there compared to in terms of durability.
Filippo
That's fair.
Kenan
Also the big screen is cool and all that but. But like the seats, the foam. Why do we know what the inner foam looks like of General motor seats? But we all do.
Doug
Yeah, we all do so well.
Filippo
I will also say the cruise control was mediocre with adaptive cruise control without lane keep. It was a little questionable but it was such a good vehicle. I've always wanted a GMT 800 suburban and I still I want him more now as a result of my new Suburban experience.
Kenan
God, didn't I call him a raging liberal the other day? I guess I'm wrong.
Doug
All right Kennedy, he's combating it. Well, Filippo got to drive his dream vehicle of a Suburban. I got to drive a Ferrari 599. So recently I went to New Orleans. We used to sell a couple of cars with us and one of the cars I got to drive with was a Ferrari 599. Now I've always been kind of curious about this car so I've never really driven one. I spent some time in a gto but I don't really count it. I just long enough. Anyway. The 599 to me was mind blowing for a number of reasons. One was that I expected the transmission to be terrible and it wasn't even at low speed. I drove around New Orleans which is not a car friendly place in the slightest.
Kenan
The least car friendly big city in America.
Doug
I think I would agree with Boston's pretty fun.
Kenan
No, no. New Orleans has worse roads than. I don't know.
Doug
It was close. It was close I felt but the so like ride wise handled everything just fine. It scraped only a one like I very briefly went just a little bit but other than that it was fine. Cleared everything just fine. The transmission and a lot of stop and go traffic actually pretty seamless. It didn't like didn't Judder. Nothing like that.
Kenan
Remember, that is the last iteration of F1.
Doug
Second to last. Yes. The. The five. The five. The GTO got a different. But. But it was. But by. To your point, by then they had really figured it out. And I. And then. But then I got to use it on the open road a little bit. We crossed the longest continuous bridge over water in the world, which is the Lake Pontchartrain causeway. It's. It's 23.87 miles long.
Filippo
It's a lot of water.
Doug
8, 7, 5. It's long, let me tell you. But I got to experience the 5.9 a little bit. Squeeze the throttle a little bit. My God. Like that engine. It's like detonating a bomb. Like, it just. The way it just builds power and you are gone. I was astonished. You talk about the Pacifica.
Filippo
Keep up.
Doug
No, these are passing shots of the Pacifica, but it astonished me. And the quality interior was nice. This one is a driver, to be clear. It has miles on it. It doesn't have a perfect ownership history, like a title history, like, stuff like that. It's not perfect, but it's the one you want. And it drove brilliantly. I was stunned at how good it was. And then I started looking at the values of 599. They're kind of in like, the one, you know, like in the 130s for, like a decent. Pretty decent one. Like, it is so much car, considering 550s cost so much more. 575s cost not that much. Like, less. They're about the same. And this is a 612 horsepower Enzo V12 derived, like Ferrari, that actually drives, actually usable. It was like a revelation.
Kenan
When I see a 599, for whatever reason I see one. And I think that it's sort of like a connoisseur's car. More than an F12 is. An F12, I think is still in that period where people are buying them to flex. And I think 599s have sort of aged into a sort of more vintage sort of look and feel.
Doug
I agree. I was actually. We were on Bourbon Street. We actually came across a Sterrata, which is like the perfect, like, exotic car to use.
Kenan
New Orleans. Yeah, for New Orleans.
Doug
And I thought about seeing this versus that. It's like this shows so much taste like it is. So it's a very tasteful car.
Kenan
I remember when it came out, people criticized it because it looked like a Corvette or a Viper, but. But I think it's aged quite well. I. I Go move around the exterior with those pictures there.
Doug
Yeah. You know, it's like I. I understand in photographs you might not feel away with flippa, but in person it has such present. Yeah, look at that. That is present. And also.
Kenan
You don't like how these look.
Filippo
No, I mean my main comment about it being worth $130,000. Ish. Like for 599 is that that's what happens when a Ferrari isn't beautiful.
Kenan
Oh, get out of your mind. You think that's not a beautiful car? Look at that.
Doug
That's a great looking.
Filippo
I don't think it's a beautiful car.
Kenan
Out of your mind. That is the craziest thing I've ever heard you say. I'm willing to say a lot of Ferraris aren't beautiful. That is not one of them. That is the cr. He's over here talking about how he wants a Pacifica to Suburban. Get him off the pod. Get Nick up in here.
Doug
Nick would support me on this. I think I also found out, you know, you, like me associate these cars with being large as one of the reasons why they're difficult to use. It's actually only 4 inches longer than the 550, 1 inch wider. It's like actually pretty similarly size.
Kenan
I don't think that they're. I remember, I, I think they're very, very adept cars. I don't consider them to be large. The 612 is large, but even that is a. As a pretty skillful and athletic car. I don't think these are large. I think these drive really well. I think they're very balanced. Like very, very, very balanced.
Doug
I. Okay, I, I totally agree with that. And I found the suspension like could be soft or it could be hard because it's magnetic and it adjusts and like. Now granted, I know reliability of all Ferraris is, is tough and they're expensive cars to maintain, but nonetheless, like the buy in is so low cost.
Kenan
What does the stick one cost? Can I get a stick one?
Doug
It was about $800,000. I'm pushing. I mean, yeah, manual conversions exist. So if you bought one for 130 or like this car like will be, which is a driver did the manual conversion. Let's say it cost you 40. You're driving. Click clacking this episode of this Car Pod is brought to you by Acre Gold. Now, you all know that I'm all about finding value, whether It's a pristine 964 and 911 or an immaculate E46. But let's talk about A different kind of asset. Acre Gold. Inflation's hitting harder than a V12 at Redline. Gas car parts, even car washes are through the roof. Acre Gold lets you invest in real 24 karat gold bars for just a few bucks a day. It's like buying a classic car that never rusts. No finance degree needed, just pure shiny gold delivered to you. Go to getacregold.com protect your money. Keep it golden. That's Getacre Gold.
Kenan
Can I tell you something about the manual conversion thing? Now that Nick has gone down this journey, I am just sketched out by the whole thing. Like I'm sure there are non sketchy actors and I'm. But there are also a lot of sketchy actors and I just think the whole thing is sketchy. Like I'm, I'm, I'm anxious about the whole thing. If there's someone. Can someone just exist in a bonded licensed place with like good lighting that is like has a logo that is doing these instead of like exist via Instagram DM where they use the word should of like. I just, I simply want someone to be good and then I'm not. But are you a little sketched out by the manual conversion process? Would you send.
Filippo
Nick's experience seemed great. He got it back yesterday. I'm excited to hear him talk about it.
Kenan
But I think my part of my point though is like Nick had a good experience. Some people don't. And the roulette of it is, is, is what sketches me out. I think like if, if, if I could just trust that there was great people out there, I'd be thrilled.
Doug
I think my way I would do that if it were my car is like I would love to have the kit sent to a, A like a shop that I.
Kenan
Why do I even trust the kit? Is I guess what I'm saying, like it's made by sketchy people, is it not? How do. Maybe it is. I don't know.
Doug
I don't know. It's like if the components work and they make a kit that can be applied by like people can install it, then. No, I'm not, I'm not that worried about it. But to your point, if the person disappears, like they just decide to no longer do business and they delete their Instagram account. Unique components.
Kenan
Well, I'm going to tell you something totally ridiculous right now. I would rather buy one that's already converted because I don't want to know.
Filippo
I don't want to know.
Kenan
Even though I know that I could buy a Car, send it off, get it converted. I would rather just not know who did it, what the story was, what the deal with the conversion was. It's already done, it happened and now I got the car.
Filippo
That's what I's wide shut, if you will.
Doug
Yeah, yeah, I think you got a point there.
Kenan
But you love the 599. I think it's a bargain, one of the great bargains of the car industry today. And I think anybody buying a 575 is making a mistake considering they can get this for not that much more.
Doug
I couldn't agree with you more. And I truly don't think this lasts. They didn't end up building that many of these cars because when it came out, it came out right in the heart of the recession. But the thing with these cars is, you know, they are mostly F1 and I think that is what has suppressed their values. But people don't realize the same. The 360 tip. This is like a much better system that I actually kind of enjoyed using, to be honest.
Kenan
That's true. Also, don't forget about the production of this car. And I think the thing that one thing that makes the 599 a lot more special than people agree. It was the only front engine V12 Ferrari that doesn't have a pair, right?
Doug
Yes, I've made that point.
Kenan
TR and the F512M are paired. The 550 and the 575 are paired and the F12 and the 812 are paired. They're basically the same car, just a modified version. Oh, that's true. Of all the cars I just mentioned, the only one that got its own world was the 599. So there isn't like a second one that it's always being compared against. There isn't a second one that looks similar. It was the only car that doesn't have a twin pair in the V12 world. And so its production numbers don't have to be added to the like. If you have the 550, you're thinking about. Well, there's also the 575 manuals and the Super Americas and the Barketta. 599 was just 599. That was the whole production run and then they moved on to a totally different production. So to me, that makes the car even more special. I just looked at production numbers. There's only 3,600 of them. So it's rarer than a 4 GT05.
Doug
Yeah, that's. And it's really something to Think about.
Kenan
That'S rarer than mercy.
Doug
That's crazy. So, I don't know. I suspect one day. I suspect these won't be underappreciated forever. I suspect that one day we'll see them rise.
Kenan
I also though, I have a suspicion a lot of them are going to become manual convertible.
Filippo
Good.
Doug
Yeah. I don't know if that's a good thing.
Kenan
Maybe not. But that's what people seem to want. Like, Filippo wouldn't have one if it was a tip.
Filippo
I do only buy manual cars, so.
Kenan
Yeah, right, Right.
Filippo
I've owned one automatic car. It's a station wagon, never available with a stick.
Doug
This is why I can't get an automatic, because I'll get flamed like this.
Filippo
I've only owned one automatic car.
Kenan
Yeah, and he's owned zero.
Filippo
Well, he's only owned like three cars ever.
Kenan
I own more manuals than both of you combined.
Doug
Mind. Yes. But my percentage is higher. My batting percentage is.
Kenan
Okay.
Filippo
Are you gonna buy?
Kenan
Move on to the Market report.
Filippo
Before we do. You filmed a video with that 599, so it's gonna be on the Carson Bit Channel.
Doug
Yes. Yes. There's another one and another. Carl. Talk about next week on the Cars and Bits channel.
Kenan
It's time for the Market Report. Now, I'm told that the Market Report is brought to you by Cars and Bids. That's the business that we are, Inside Sense is promoting here. I'm not really sure about it all. I do want to say one thing. I do want to say one thing about the Market Report. I. I don't really do a lot of promoting of Cars and Bids on this podcast because I'm not really sure, like, it's on my channel. Is it a Cars and Bids podcast? Nobody seems to have any idea. But I want to talk about the nsx. Can you. Can you pull up the nsx? I want to. I want to toot the Cars and Bits horn here a little because I don't like to show for stuff unless it's one of our sponsors who we love dearly. I don't. But cars is our business and I very rarely do this. But I want to talk about this nsx. Okay? So the NSX type S, the one that just. That we just sold for 222. All right, that car, a couple of months ago, the seller had it on our site on carsandbids.com and he tried to sell it and it was bid to 225 and it was a no sale. And then the seller was like, you know what, Screw these cars and Bids people. I'm going to take it to the other site. So he took it to a different auction site, one of the more popular ones, you know, and it goes bid to a significantly lower amount. Then he took it to a different auction site and it was bid to a significantly, even lower amount in the 1/ hundreds. Now we're 30 grand back of where it got on Cars and Bids. Those are the two big other auction sites. They both had a much lower result. He brought it then after cursing the Cars and Bids people, he brought it back to Cars and Bids where we then delivered the next best result after his first Cars and Bids result and he sold the car. The point I want to make here is that's pretty legit. And I don't, I truly, I don't spend a lot of time on this podcast tooting the cars in bids horn and I often make fun of Filippo for doing so, but I am quite proud of this. And we have seen this before. We and anybody who's paying attention is aware that this is already happening in some segments of the market.
Filippo
It.
Kenan
But I'm really proud to see it on a low production, high dollar, low volume, very special supercar like this NSX type S that ends up bringing its two best results on cars and bids after bad results in the other places. And it's just a happy little, happy little thing to, to brag about for cars and bids.
Doug
Yeah, I'm proud. I'm not at all surprised. Like we, we sell very legit stuff. And so although I, we, and like you said, we've seen this happen.
Kenan
Well, I mean, dealers who are paying attention have become very aware of which cars to sell, which places. Yeah, cars has some real advantages in terms of, of sale price for certain cars. But I think that this proves. Go get them on the real stuff. Let's, let's, let's do it. Get, let's do a McLaren F1.
Doug
Oh please God. I'll take it at 40. Let's start with an F40.
Kenan
Nobody sells F40s. There was a big F40 swap. Here's a market report for you. You want to hear a market report? There was a 40 swap. Swap a Rooney and then they don't sell anymore. And Kenan, you know what Filippo told me? He blew my mind and ruined my whole life because I'm like not, not looking for an F40. Like I still dream of the day that Joe Psaki texts me and tells me he's found an F40 for me, even though I made fun of him on Ferris podcast and he won't talk to me anymore. Like, I still dream of that day, like my money is down.
Doug
But he calls, says, hey, I've got a high mileage hate cat adjust car that's got your name on.
Kenan
Yeah, no, and I want, I'm gonna be really clear. I want a cat adjust car, but it's like non cat, not adjust. Like, that's like the thing I want to give me a cat, give me an adjustment, give me another cat. Throw on as many cats as you can and put on as much adjustment as you can do anyway. But you know What?
Doug
Only have 40 people understand what you're saying.
Kenan
You know what Felipe reminded me of, Kenan? That car is tariff now. That car is tariff now because none of these cars are in the states. So I was always looking for a foreign importance. And that car is tariff now. And so if It's. It's a 10% tariff, right?
Filippo
On cars, 25.
Doug
So see, might as well just get in that.
Kenan
Even if I could find one for a million five, that's a. That's a 375, $400,000 tariff. Boom. F40 dream is dead. Trump killed it. People out there keep that in mind.
Filippo
Real consumer connection. We had to keep that point local to people.
Doug
A way to bring it back down to earth. Yeah, exactly.
Filippo
It will be interesting to see whether, like, I assume nobody's importing cars at the moment of that caliber. It'll be interesting to see if, and once tariffs ease up as deals are made, if tariffs go away entirely, whether there's like a sudden influx of those cars.
Doug
It will be interesting to see how other auctions too, like, especially this summer, as auctions, we're inching closer to Monterey, which I'm very excited about, but curious to see, like, what, how that impacts.
Kenan
Those guys didn't sell a lot of stuff that was titled in foreign countries. They don't. They usually the cars are. They keep the cars where they are because transport costs are high, because nobody wants to deal with paperwork and stuff. Last year, one of them, one of the big ones, think RM sold an F40 that was titled in Germany.
Doug
I remember that.
Kenan
It's rare, though.
Doug
It is. I got into a good argument about F40s recently.
Filippo
Goodness. I think we can pause there.
Doug
Somebody, somebody, somebody on Instagram had posted a thing about how your blue F40 may be worth more than your red one. I was like, absolutely categorically not true. Which. And I have like the market down Instagram.
Kenan
Rage bait. Don't get on to Instagram.
Doug
I know, but I thought I wanted to post something very. An actual coherent Instagram like response from a human being, which I did and I didn't use.
Kenan
And when I was looking, we were offered painted cars. That was pretty much all I was looking at actually because of my budget. And we basically, we were offered a lot of painted cars, a green one and this and that.
Doug
You just don't. I mean, to set it back to being right is so hard because even just to repaint it, red is really difficult and a lot of places can't get it right. It's not thin enough for the weave. It's really hard.
Kenan
We were, it was, it was generally. I was told to budget 50,000 to get it painted back to. I think that's light, correct?
Doug
I think that's light. To be honest with you. If it's, if it's a full color change.
Kenan
Well, hey, man, this was, this was three and a half years ago. This was before all the Biden inflation or the Trump flation or whatever fleet inflation ruin my ability to import an F40. Folks. He has come after the wealthy.
Filippo
You also realize on top of the tariffs, three years ago when you were looking a dollar and a euro were about on par. Now a dollar to equal one euro, you're $1.15. So it's also like a 15% increase there.
Kenan
So is that better or worse?
Filippo
Worse. The F40 dream is dead for you, man.
Kenan
It's dead. Like straight up dead. Sorry. It is like legit, legit dead. What about the pound?
Filippo
I have not compared to currencies where you're not getting. What F4 are you importing?
Kenan
Well, F40s were all left hand drive, so if they're in the U.K. it's okay.
Filippo
That's fair. I will also say apparently the UK and the US have, are on the verge or have signed a trade deal which means 10% tariffs on vehicles.
Kenan
So 10% still too high, dude.
Doug
Yeah, that's too much.
Kenan
I need to go back to three. Like it was pre Trump. Biden gave me three points on an F40. Give me that back. Feed me. Okay, give us our next whatever market report. It's over though. I legit think it's over. I legit think it's like over over. I don't think there's any F40 happening anymore. I think that the F40s that are in the market as a possible car for me and other buyers are all already in the U.S. i don't think there's going to be Any cross coming at 40s for years between the currency and between. The only reason they were coming is because the euro had gotten cheap and that's gone. And the tariffs it's over like F40. F40 market.
Doug
Right.
Kenan
We get a finite number of cars and they're in the states.
Doug
Again super useful consumer advice. But speaking of F40, can I talk.
Filippo
About F type over here?
Kenan
Waxing poetic about five nine nines and he doesn't want to talk about.
Doug
Yeah I want to talk about F types.
Kenan
I'm not giving consumer advice here. We're having a podcast.
Doug
I'm pivoting the F type R. So we recently sold this one for 29.
Filippo
To be fair this one also had a rebuilt title and 46000 miles up.
Doug
But if you look at the price of F type R's now that's A.
Filippo
A what?
Doug
550 horsepower supercharged V8, two door beautiful looking coupe.
Filippo
Yep.
Doug
They are trading hands in the like high mid to high 30s. I know frequency that is an appealing car. I'm with that price segment. I think that is a. Now the pops and crackles the V8.
Filippo
Does are a lot fine worth it.
Doug
But I think that it is. I mean that's a special car. I mean look at this Felipe for 36 GS. Look at that car. That is a special looking car.
Filippo
The F type looks incredible. 550 horsepower, 5 liter supercharged V8 is no joke. I'm into it. I want one would you say or a convertabla. I think you want a coupe.
Doug
I think you want a coupe to be a little shielded from the backfiring that this because it is extreme. When do you think Burbal tunes. I know Farah recently talked about this too but like that car really like took that was verbal tune in all caps with an exclamation mark on it.
Kenan
We have so loud 30 different F type RS. That's pretty much. We have one live right now actually.
Filippo
Yeah.
Kenan
With 58000 miles it's actually going to be a cheapie with. With some miles on it like that.
Filippo
I It's such a gorgeous car. Especially in a color. It just looks so good. I will also note not ours but base trims were available for the manual. Briefly.
Doug
Yep.
Filippo
And you can also get. Briefly. We sold one or two. Maybe you could get a convertible with a manual.
Doug
Now someone pointed this out to me because they tagged me in community about this and one of the things I found they made the point that well the manual should technically made up the engine block is the same between the V6 and the V8. Remember, they just blanked out those cylinders, which is the weirdest thing I've ever heard. But in theory, nothing else. It shouldn't be that different. I wonder if anybody's tried that. Like, the V8 with a manual would be incredible.
Filippo
Sub 40 for 550 horsepower and like a beautiful car is a. It's a deal.
Doug
It's pretty appealing.
Kenan
If I had to choose between the V8 and the stick, I'd probably choose the V8.
Doug
I think I would.
Filippo
Yeah. I don't that's a good manual either. By all accounts, I've driven them both.
Kenan
The manual is fine, but the. The powertrain is uninspired. And the V8 is so legit. It's got so much power. And that little car. I mean, those cars are like the size of a Miata. They look so good. And that it's so loud and roar.
Doug
Right. Well said. Good impression.
Filippo
I do and I want. I legitimately kind of want. It's one of the rare automatic sports cars I consider.
Doug
Well, if you live at the end of Filippo street and you have an F type R, he'll buy it.
Kenan
Nobody loves questions, folks. Questions. This is big because the questions are brought to you by the sweatshirts behind me. Now, I want to be clear. Sean only mentioned the hats. He only told me to get rid of the hats. The sweatshirts can stay people. And not only that, they are our sponsor for this segment, for God's sake. So we should be nicer to them.
Filippo
These sweatshirts, why are you like this?
Kenan
These sweatshirts were free gifts seven years ago at the fishing and tackle store. Okay? So have some respect.
Filippo
What did we do to you?
Doug
10 o' clock, 2 o' clock. Oh, wow.
Kenan
This is a fishing tip from Kenneth. There you go.
Filippo
All right, what are the questions?
Kenan
The questions. Now the questions. Remember, you can ask us questions. You go to carsonbids.com you click on the Community tab. There will be a post there that says, ask us questions. You can ask us whatever you want. We're going to choose. We pick and choose the questions. If you ask us a question that is inappropriate, we will probably choose it. If you ask us a question that is mild, we will not choose it. I like questions that make Filippo squirmish. People have been asking us rank the questions. Ask Filippo to rank U.S. senators. Oh, man. Be great. All right, so first question today comes from.
Filippo
It'll take a while. There's 100.
Kenan
Top three. Filippo, give us your top three.
Filippo
No, we'll move on.
Kenan
First question, can we make Nick a regular on the show? You know, well, I'm glad we got this question because I want to talk about this. Cringe. McCringle wants us to get rid of one of us.
Filippo
Goodbye.
Kenan
Can I tell you all how Filippo got started doing this podcast? One day we said we're going to do a podcast and since you're in the office, you have to participate.
Filippo
Exactly what happened.
Kenan
Yeah, I guess I have an hour today.
Filippo
That's exactly what happened.
Kenan
Now we're the largest automotive podcast in the world, Filippo. Do you understand that?
Filippo
Yeah, I forget about that. We're just chatting.
Kenan
But we're reporting on hard hitting stuff like Cuomo's Challenger Charger.
Filippo
I have not seen that news anywhere. And it needed to be shown to the world.
Kenan
It's shown to the world. Hopefully we put up a picture of it. Somebody took a picture of the day. It's parked in a bike lane. So anyway, the point is with regards to Nick, Nick has a show on the cars and bids YouTube channel. You got to go to cars and bids YouTube channel and you can watch Nick and his insanity. And if you want to see insane Nick, that's where you go. And otherwise we will try to get him on as much as we can. Okay, I can't get rid of. Who am I going to get rid of? Kenan? Filippo. It's like trying to choose between my children.
Doug
Oh, thanks. I like being around.
Kenan
I would choose you, Kenneth.
Doug
All right.
Kenan
I mean, not to get rid of. I would choose you to keep.
Doug
I read the tone there, Ken, and you're dead. Sorry, buddy.
Kenan
Nick.
Filippo
Nick will also obviously show up often.
Kenan
Nick has great stuff. I love Nick too. And I watch his YouTube videos and I sit there thinking, this person is even more insane than I realized. Like I don't see the videos until they go live like you guys do. And I'm watching the videos and I, I. You guys have this experience. Do you watch the Nick videos?
Doug
Oh, I, I watch them and like you said, I know him well. I like to think. And also imagine what hits the cutting room floor. The stuff that doesn't make it at all.
Kenan
Think about that.
Doug
We should start a Patreon and just put clips that in there.
Filippo
If you can see, we will get cancelled.
Kenan
Did you see the clip the other day? Kevin pointed this out where Nick is like filming, but he's short list but because he's in the reflection of his car. Such an idiot. Oh, Nick. Everybody needs a Nick. Everybody needs a Nick. Like put on A shirt you're filming like, this is not.
Doug
Yeah.
Filippo
Nick.
Kenan
All right, does Nick's OnlyFans content. All right, next question from SB58. Hey, Doug. Kenneth Filippo, in the early podcast, you discussed certain cars that would be owned by someone who is coming to fire your dad. What is the modern version of the fire your dad vehicle?
Filippo
I don't know.
Doug
Flying Spur.
Filippo
Yeah. I mean, it's still true that to.
Kenan
Me, to me, it was a car that was like so rich person that they didn't care that the car was bad, which was why the Arnage was, you know, like, the Arnage was bought by somebody who had better options, but they were so rich that they didn't even want to listen to what the salesperson had to say, you know? And there's not a lot of cars like that out there anymore.
Filippo
Model X Plaid.
Kenan
No, Nobody with a Model X Plaid is firing anybody. They're right in code. What is that?
Doug
I don't know. The modern day seven series is a pretty good one. That's kind of like a inlet, like a dark color like that.
Kenan
Is there a V12 still?
Doug
I don't think so.
Filippo
There's a. There's a 760, but I can't remember if it actually. V12.
Doug
I don't think it is.
Kenan
No. There's only a six cylinder or a twin turbo V8.
Doug
Okay. But even so, like, I know it's not the prettiest car, but, like, when that pulls, that's intimidating is the point. And depreciation is so dramatic.
Kenan
I agree. I agree. Only in the top trim.
Doug
Only in the top trim. You go take him. I don't think so. It's not quite enough. Oh, my S5. Was it the S580?
Filippo
Yeah, the. Like the. The. The. The Maybach S class. The. The S680.
Doug
S680.
Filippo
Although the 580 MyBack. MyBach version.
Doug
Like that.
Kenan
I mean, a Phantom. A Phantom is kind of the obvious answer, but even then I think that I feel like that's more like rapper entertainer than like, Than like, I am so rich that I bought your town and I've bought your house. House. And now you must.
Filippo
What about a Maserati Gran Turismo? A new Gran Turismo?
Doug
No, that's just.
Filippo
No.
Kenan
If you bought a new Gran Turismo, it means that. That you yourself were fired for poor financial.
Doug
Or you're about to be.
Kenan
Yeah, I like the brand itself. If you bought a new Gran Turismo, it means that another recession is coming. If you start seeing Those around, it's like, oh God, brace money must be cheap again. I don't know.
Doug
I think it's still one of the high end German sedan. I still think it's a German sedan.
Kenan
My bike S class is the closest we can get.
Filippo
Yeah, agree.
Kenan
Next question from EVs and clutch pedals. What's the craziest deal a buyer has ever gotten on cars and bids? Like what? No reserve car sold for the lowest percent of what the cars and bids team or community thought it was worth. Now this question was asked and then a lot of people were like, they'll never answer. I don't, I want to be clear. One of the, probably the biggest drawback of running this business, business, at least for me, you guys can tell me your thoughts, is that everybody comes to me thinking that I know every single data point in the car market. People come up to me, they're like, hey, I got a, I got an 18 435i convertible with 60,000 miles and a clean carfax. What's it worth? And I'm like, I don't know, I don't remember. I don't have them all in my mind. And that's true of this question too. There probably are cars that have sold for less than they should have, but I don't.
Doug
Well, because we're starting to approach, we're.
Filippo
Close to 30,000 cars. I'm trying to think about this. Like, I don't often. There are cars where like the cars that I think go cheapest are usually ones where they need something and somebody is willing to do that something. And like for them it's a deal. But for other bidders it's not like, yeah, all the cars are getting all the attention. Like they're, it's people actively. It's not that they're going under the radar. It's people actively deciding it's not, I don't want to spend more for it, but like for somebody it's a deal.
Kenan
That's a good, that's a good point. And I don't have any specifics, but you could probably find them. Another good example is cars that have been modified in a very specific way where the sellers put a lot of money into them and then they don't sell for that much. And there's certainly a contingent of people who are like, that's such a deal because it has a lot of good parts on it, but at the same time it's like a thousand horsepower race car with a parachute. And you're like, well that's so it's pretty small. That's a pretty small subset. Those are probably the cars that will sometimes sell for less money than people think they're worth. But I would always argue, like, this site has hundreds of thousands of users and gets millions of hits.
Filippo
Like, things don't just kind of like.
Kenan
Happen what they sell for, you know?
Filippo
Okay, we sold a C32AMG. I remember this. That was two and a half years ago, but I remember the car distinctly. That sold for like two grand. But it had issues and it was in Canada and it had like, Canada issues.
Doug
Like, I do remember this, etc.
Filippo
But that still feels like a deal for a very cool car. Yeah. But I look back two and a half years to what comes to mind.
Kenan
You know what else? You know what else sometimes sells cheap that I'm surprised by is really good survivor cars.
Filippo
Yeah.
Doug
Oh, yeah.
Kenan
Like, type in. Get it. Go to that Saturn SC2 we sold last. Last week, earlier this week. I don't think these cars sell undeservedly cheap. I want to be really, really clear about this. Like, I don't think cars and bids is getting less money than they're worth. I don't think there's a huge market out there for people looking for a Saturn SC2. But it is surprising to me sometimes that are really well preserved. Like, Corolla won't bring more than 11 grand. And you think about the amount of use you could get that even if your plan was just to use it as a used car. And you think, like, this is probably a pretty good deal. But I don't feel that that that this Saturn selling for four grand is below market. But it strikes me that it's below what I would think a car this nice would bring.
Filippo
Right?
Kenan
Yes.
Filippo
Right. Despite the fact that four grand now gets you a lot of different things. I. There are cars where, like, maybe if I were in the market, I would have paid that amount, but if three of them would have paid more. Yeah. Okay, go, go, go. To a 1989 Ford E350 Centurion van truck.
Kenan
What?
Filippo
E350 with a dash.
Doug
Oh, of course.
Kenan
E3 with a dash. Kenan, what are you doing?
Filippo
I said 99. I meant 89. I apologize.
Doug
Right. I'm the idiot over here.
Kenan
The van truck market.
Filippo
All right. That by pure metal alone, feels like it's worth more than four grand. It's like a lot of sheet work, sheet metal there.
Kenan
But larger vehicles, I swear, bring more money just because of their physical capabilities. Like, if it's that big, it can probably do something for someone that makes it worth more than four grand.
Filippo
Right? That's my thing. Do I want that? No. Would I pay more than four grand? No. Is it cool? Could. Could it be worth that something?
Kenan
Somebody.
Filippo
Apparently not, but maybe somebody in the.
Kenan
Midwest who has property and doesn't care about the size of that, wants that vehicle and got a great deal at four grand.
Doug
That's what they call. I'm going out to the property this weekend.
Filippo
Of course it failed Pennsylvania inspection.
Kenan
Of course.
Filippo
And it doesn't have an exhaust.
Kenan
Indiana, where nobody cares about any of that stuff.
Filippo
There's welding residue on the windows.
Kenan
I don't see that as an issue. I think that's true of every 89 vehicle.
Filippo
That feels like a lot of.
Kenan
A lot of car for the most van truck. Next question from V12 stick. Richard Hammond was notorious for being a motorcycle guy as well as a car guy. Can any of you ride a motorcycle? If so, what do you ride? I am uninterested in any forms of transportation aside from cars. I don't like. I don't care about boats. People always trying to get me into planes. They're like, oh, what'd you ride on to get here? I'm like a plane. I've never even thought about the concept of what it is.
Doug
Yeah. But you know, if you got on an A380 and it's a double decker or something 747, like, you know, yeah.
Kenan
Dude, if I got into a fighter jet, I would know Propeller plane. I know other than that I have any concept. People like, oh, did you take that? Is it a 737? Dude, I have gotten on planes. I'm not exaggerating. Got on planes and not known what airline I was flying. That has happened before to me and they come on and they're like, thanks for flying United. And I was like, I swear to God, this was a JetBlue flight. If you, if you ask me.
Filippo
Yeah.
Doug
You are probably the most agnostic airline person I know. With the exception of Air Canada. You're like, which I agree that's the worst airline in the world.
Kenan
Airlines. Airlines I'm agnostic on. But even the plane. So, so I don't, I don't get into anything. I don't get into motorcycles. I, I actually think if I was going to get into any other form of vehicle, it would be motorcycles. I occasionally will find myself looking at one and thinking, but, but they, they scare me. Honest, to be perfectly honest. Which I think is realistic. Filippo, are you, you ride?
Filippo
I ride motorcycles on rare occasions. Gone on rides with some like in laws and family members both. Like some like off road, more off roading and forest roads and around Arizona. It's fun. I don't. It's not my passion.
Doug
Yeah, right. Then I, I like, I like old motorcycles. My grandfather has 1931 Indian 101B Scout that he's had since he was I think 14. My cousin restored it and I, I haven't. I've just like pooled around on that bike to just like kind of just like coast it down the drive. But I loved it because it's so balanced and everything. It's a trail bike. It's what it's for. But the reality of riding a motorcycle in the modern world, especially in California, people are so distracted. It makes me like very, very, very nervous. Like, I just, I don't really have any desire to do it. I love those pre war bikes, but I'm just. It's not. This is such a pre war bikes. I have respect for them and I appreciate them.
Kenan
Okay, next. Next question. And this One is from Dobby 17. Can you go to the questions canon from this week because there's a graphic that goes along with this. Dobby17 says, do you think if the E Ray was branded as a Cadillac, just do control FBI.
Doug
What do you say? 512BBI.
Filippo
Somebody has 512.
Kenan
He says, click on that picture. The one on the left. It's really good. Do you think if the E Ray was branded as a Cadillac, it would be a good halo car for the brand? Took styling cues in the race car, including the bump start feature we all love. Obviously that's ridiculous, but what if it looked like this? Now they tried this. Filippo, you recall the xlr? Of course they tried this with the xlr, which was a failure. However, its used values have been pretty strong. Honestly, the.
Filippo
It's the same as a C6 value.
Kenan
XLRVs are expensive.
Filippo
Yeah, that's true. There's so few though.
Kenan
Wait, go back to the picture. I want to see. It was beautiful. Dobby had. Look at this. Filippo, look at this picture.
Doug
I like the gray skies. It's very Detroit. It feels right. Feels very Midwestern. Really got it. Nailed it.
Filippo
You know, I've never thought about this question, like, should the eay have been a Cadillac? And honestly, yes, it should have, probably.
Doug
That's a good point.
Kenan
I think they would do it again because they went down this road and there's. People have a short memory. But like it's a that is a good looking car. And I. I don't know.
Filippo
I also feel like the E Ray has been overshadowed in the Corvette lineup. It's in like from a performance standpoint, it's not that dissimilar from a Z06. It's been massively overshadowed by that. It turns out Corvette buyers don't necessarily want a hybrid powertrain, which is a shame because I think it's a really cool powertrain, a really cool car. Maybe splitting it off to a separate brand would have actually drawn given it the attention it deserved.
Doug
Maybe. And I mean Cadillac does want to focus on being more sporty generally.
Filippo
And they have a lot of EVs and like, maybe that's the connection point. I think they should have. Good idea, Dobby17.
Kenan
It's not a bad idea. Now they did try it and it didn't work. It should be pointed out out.
Filippo
It's also really costly to. To redesign a car and like have.
Doug
It be a Cadillac had done this. They enter Formula one and then for the American Grand Prix, the Miami Grand Prix, the Austin Grand Prix in Vegas, they had that as a pace car. Damn.
Kenan
Also, also, Filippo says it's really costly to redesign a car. Dude, Ferrari does all these one offs and it's no problem. Eric Clapton did it. Eric Clapton can redesign a car and Cadillac can't. General Motors doesn't have the money to redesign a car. Eric Clapton's up in here redesigning a car. Car.
Doug
All right.
Filippo
Also to be fair, they have that, that Cadillac, whatever it's called that nobody remembers the Celestique. So they could have.
Kenan
Yeah, you don't remember the Celestique?
Filippo
Dude, that's.
Kenan
That's the car of the year here. Everybody's talking about celestique. Yeah.
Filippo
All 350 grand that they cost.
Kenan
They're making six of them and you can't buy one. Okay.
Filippo
And none of them are sold.
Kenan
Last question. This is the last question. It comes from Scomo 98 and he says, why does Sean hate your hat hats? Great question, Sean. These hats shield me from the sun God. No, the question is what? What's the perfect two door car with back seats for a cross country road trip? And then he has a picture. Go to the. Are you in the thing still? The question thing. He has a picture. He did a cross country road trip in like a991. Look at that. Click on that.
Doug
Oh, that's pretty well base. Yeah.
Kenan
You know what disappoints me about this picture? Go back to the back picture. He does his cross country road trip in this very special car. And he just has the regular Texas license plate. Like you're gonna be showing your car to the world here, sir. You have to at least get the one that says T is for Texas.
Doug
You're the only person in the world who would ever criticize him for that. I think it's.
Kenan
Pull up the T is for Texas license plate while we discuss this. While we discuss this.
Filippo
All right, so first thoughts here? 9 11. Great choice. I think that this purpose opens up cars that are not a manual transmission car.
Kenan
Click on that. You didn't think it was real, did you Cannon? But there is an actual license plate that says T for Texas. It makes no sense. You thought this wasn't gonna be real, but it is.
Doug
Well, shoot.
Kenan
Oh man, that's so accurate. Okay, Felipe, go ahead.
Filippo
All right, so I. I think that for cross country road trip you can. It doesn't have to be a manual, which for my other like car needs kind of does. Like if you want a 2 plus 2 with a manual, 911 is kind of your choice. It's kind of it realistically. But it doesn't need to be a manual.
Doug
I don't know how. How high is the ceiling here? Bentley Brooklyn sounds pretty nice for a cross country road trip.
Kenan
That's a.
Doug
That's got a rear seat.
Kenan
Yeah. What. What was two door car with rear seats?
Doug
I mean Continental.
Kenan
He didn't say sports car.
Filippo
It doesn't have to be a sports car. Oh, I think that a Range Rover evoke convertible.
Doug
Oh my God.
Filippo
Two doors.
Kenan
No, that's a. That's a tinny little thing. That four cylinders are going to be stressed on the highway all the time.
Filippo
Is a good idea.
Kenan
Cannon. Imagine driving to all the national parks in a Brooklyns with the T for Texas license plate.
Doug
You'd have to.
Kenan
You'd be showing up to fire the. The fathers of all the bears.
Doug
You'd be up. You'd be there to sell ebay there to buy some real estate.
Kenan
Yeah, yeah. Who they're gonna. BLM's gonna sell 2 million acres. This guy's buying.
Doug
That's right. This magnate is fine.
Kenan
The problem with that car is reliable. The Continental GT is a pretty good answer.
Doug
Yeah. The Aston Martin, the new Vanquish I think is a pretty good, good choice.
Filippo
Or, or any Vanquish really.
Doug
Or any asen room back seats.
Filippo
Does the Vanquish what Ferraris have rear.
Kenan
Seats just like the 612 and, and the Lusso and the FF and all them.
Filippo
Yeah, a GTC4 Lusso or. Or a 612. Both good options.
Doug
Yes.
Kenan
What about Kenan? What about a GTC4 Lusso V12? Cuz with the 8 there's not enough power for a road trip.
Filippo
Agreed.
Kenan
V12.
Doug
Right. And I. Yeah exactly. I'm not concerned with fuel economy. I'm concerned. I'm concerned with how it pulls on the highway. And this would be and and it' call it ISO. I actually think that is a really great one. And. And unlike the 612 that does have cruise control. Oh, so there you are.
Kenan
You know what? You know what, Felipo? We'd get that car and you know what? We'd register it in Texas and we'd get the T for Texas.
Filippo
We sure would.
Kenan
Done Y. And that is our podcast for today. Kenan, do you have any parting thoughts?
Doug
Buy buy more V12s. Yeah. 599 Lusso more V12s.
Kenan
Hard to argue that his mercy back. We'll get some sort of update at some point, I hope.
Doug
Can't wait. Gonna see it tonight. We're very excited.
Kenan
Oh damn that shiny shiny thing. We will see you guys in a week and remember, ask us questions carsandbids.com the community tab and also download the app and do all sorts of other cars and bids related things.
Doug

Kenan

Filippo
