I'm your host Britt Siva and today we're talking about the massive amount of misinformation, manipulative, false narrative, kind of jargon and chatter that floats around our industry. We've all seen it, we've all experienced it. Whether it be the secrecy around how somebody built their business, whether it's somebody who looks amazing on social media. But you and I both know in the back end what's really going on is probably not true. I was just sent in the last week this post that was made by somebody who's a business coach. I was send it a few times and people were asking me is this really true? And I was looking at this post and the way that it was made was so polished and so well put together, like marketing was a 10 out of 10 and the information being shared was so false, so misleading. And I was looking at the comments under the post and I was like oh my gosh, this is being served up in such a way that it looks and sounds so good that people are actually believing it and buying it. And one thing I've openly shared is my one to one clients. I don't take a lot. I take up to 12 a year. My one to one clients are all stylists and salon owners who've been burned by another coaching company or business advice in such a way that they have lost tens of thousands of dollars if not more and are desperate to get the wheels back on their business. And I've known this for a long time and I've wondered what do we do to quit the secrecy in this industry, right? You've experienced this. Whether you've been in the industry for one year or five years or 20, you look at somebody, whether it be a stylist or a salon owner, and they appear to be successful and you ask yourself like, how did they do it? And you want to know the actual how, not the version they post. Like the five steps I took to make a hundred thousand dollars. Like, we don't want to hear any more of that. We want the real vers, the broken down version, the financial version, the highs, the lows, the failures, the mistakes, the actual step by step, okay, so here's what I did. This is what worked. This is how I tweak it. We want to know that part and nobody's sharing that. And maybe you found somebody that you admire and you ask them like, okay, I see what you've done. Can you mentor me or can you tell me how you did it? And even if they do answer, the answer is usually vague. Or maybe you aren't even brave enough to ask because in this industry it's almost considered rude. And maybe in all industries it's considered rude to say like, how much money do you really make? Like how much is your profit margin? All of those questions, like talking about money is so taboo in society still today and so it can feel inappropriate. And I just find it to be very ironic that in an industry that speaks such a good game about community over competition and it's so special here and you know, we go to all these amazing conferences and these amazing events and it's like industry coming together. But then we gatekeep the business part, like we're willing to show like the good stuff, the fun stuff, the connection stuff. But when it comes to like what is actually making somebody successful, that is like a no go zone. We see stylists, salons, industry educators sharing their work, sharing their techniques, sharing their travel schedule, sharing product recommendations, outfits of the day, team photo shoots behind the scenes. And we call it transparency and we call it our journey. But when it comes to the number numbers, the finances, the mistakes, the part where it almost all falls apart and they pick up the pieces again, the real strategies, the breakdown of how much every little bit and part costs, nobody shares that part. The details that would actually make a difference in somebody's business, those are the things that we say, well, I'm not going to share everything or I'm going to hold it close or I don't want to over share. And I don't think it's malicious. I truly don't. I think that most people want the best for the industry, the vast majority. And I don't think anybody's even intentionally gatekeeping. I think what's happened is we have a culture in this industry where honesty about the business side of things is not normal. And when you have a culture, like it's a full industry culture for us, where we've decided that sharing the transparency and the real real and the details behind our business is something we're not supposed to talk about because of etiquette or because we don't want to make anybody feel bad or we're worried that our numbers aren't what they should be like. The shame attached. When we normalize all of that stuff, a lot of talented, hardworking people in the industry who could be successful, pay the price. We talk about, like, mentoring and changing for the better and uplifting, and we want everybody to do well, but only to a point, right? And then we're like. But then the rest of this is for me. And that's the piece I really want to change. I am extremely proud and thankful and blessed that I do own the largest coaching company in the industry. We have served over 17,000 accounts. And the only way that's been able to happen is because I get to network with people who share with me their secrets. I network with other very powerful education brands. I network with salons. I network with stylists. And I get to know everything. I don't have to make guesses or assumptions when it comes to running my own business or mentoring others. I can use real data and real stats and real failures and real successes. And that has been my secret sauce. Like, there is nothing else that has made my coaching method or my business's success as strong as it is. It's the power of transparency. I get to see profit and loss statements of other educators such as myself and salon owners and stylists. I get to see how much these people spend on everything in their business. I get text messages when somebody does something wrong and it blows up in their face. I get to know all of the marketing secrets. And I have to be honest, it's not special that I get to know that kind of stuff. Most industries do that. Like, that's so normal. Like the networking and the sharing and the comparing notes and all that kind of stuff. It's odd that our industry does not. That's the oddity. And the reason why our industry doesn't like to share is because there's this underlying terror that if we share too much about our success. We'll lose everything. The fear of judgment is so real. The success shaming in this industry is so real. Like a stylist will come up and like literally build a dream career and people will be like, well, you and all your money. Good luck with that. It's like we tear down the person who is doing so well. Meanwhile, we should be le in and like learning more and celebrating. We want this industry to change. We don't want to be like the struggling stylist or the struggling salon owner. We have to start having more transparent conversations with those who are doing it innovatively and those who are doing it well. We have to normalize that if the industry as a whole is going to come up. So here's what happens when successful stylists and salon owners and industry educators start sharing like the true behind the scenes of what works. Their businesses and brands don't get teared down. They don't lose industry or community influence. None of that happens. The more we have conversations around the highs and lows of business, sharing the details going into strategy is that it becomes a competition around who can share the best, who knows the secret weapon that's going to amplify anybody's business, who can blow minds with the craziest secret sauce strategy. Because that person, the one with the most mind blowing strategy, the one who is able to make us like stop dead in our tracks and be like, well, damn, that works really amazing. That person's star rises and it rises with their clientele and it rises with the fact that everybody wants to work for them as a salon owner, like, the gatekeeping is not gonna do it. The person who gets out there and you're like, whoa, that person is smart. Is the person who finds success playing small and playing secretive, only breeds isolation loyalty in small businesses. There is nothing else that comes of it. I'm done with that. So I am starting something new. This has been something that's felt important to me for a really long time, but I wasn't in a place where I was able to do it properly. I needed to like really dial it in and figure out and be the best version of myself and have the capacity and all the things. I knew that if I wanted to kind of like pioneer this new way of industry conversations, I did not want it to be a paid mastermind. I could have done a paid mastermind, which is, you know, somebody facilitates several in person meetings a year with a small group, like a curated group of people, it could be five or ten or twelve or twenty or a hundred, but creating a space where I'm networking all these people and I'm coaching them monthly, virtually, and then we're coming together a few times a year and we're like sharing secrets in a silo. I did not want to do that. I wanted to do this differently. I wanted to dig into businesses in a way that I've never seen done before. I've been in Masterminds, and I would ask the leader, I was like, is there any way that we could do like a deep dive into the back end of so and so's business? And they'd tell me, no, if you want to do that, you have to do it yourself, like in your private time. So I would, and we would, and it was great. But I learned the power of that piece, and that's the piece that's really hard to do in a group and at scale effectively. So what I decided to do instead was to make really bold asks and lean into my network and ask those I admire and those I trust to spend a few hours with me telling me everything. And it was a really huge ask. And it was very radical in the sense that I'm asking people to do something and share something that is really like off limits in our industry. Knowing that some people would tell me no, and some people did, but enough people said yes. And so I had this amazing group of humans who was like, I'll tell you everything. And then I thought about, okay, where are we going to do this? And one of the things I've been told by you all, my thriving stylist audience, who I love and adore so much, is that you don't want more interviews on podcasts. The audience has told me you all over and over and over and over again that there's plenty of interview style podcasts out there. It's the same kind of stories. Those stories can be kind of like a feel good vibe, but they don't actually move the needle. It's like inspiring, but it doesn't answer the heavy questions. Even if that person records for 90 minutes, it's not enough time to get into the good part. They don't answer the heavy questions. They aren't produced in a way that makes the time spent worth listening. And that's not, you know, necessarily my perception, but the reason why I stopped doing interviews on Thriving stylist podcast and 2020, like a really long time ago is because I kept getting feedback of, like, the interviews are not it. Like, we've heard successful people talk about their Glowing story. And they started from nothing and now look at them. But unless we're actually getting into it in a way that is effective and meaningful, it's just not enough to make a move. So seven months ago, Lauren and Emily from my team and I sat down and we spent hours and hours designing something completely next level. And born out of it is after the Last Client. So after the Last client launches today, June 8, 2026. And this is the newest media platform in the beauty industry. And I'm really, really proud of it. I'm proud of those who chose to participate in it. I'm really, really proud of what we've built through the program and through the process. These are long form interviews with industry educators, influencers, multimillion dollar salon owners, multi six figure booth rental salon owners, multi six figure stylists. Ultimately we were talking about with salon owners who have lost it all and recovered, stylists who do things totally differently and kill it. And my goal is just to normalize, having transparent conversations and hopefully creating the platform where the greatest voices in the industry choose to come on. And we put them on a pedestal because they end up being the people we can trust the most. Because it's not just looking great on social, it's actually talking about what's real and creating that relatability. And we'll all know that those who choose to come onto after the last client and accept the offer are those brave enough to, in the words of Brene Brown, like, jump into the arena and be honest about what it really looks like and share and uplift in a, in a deeply meaningful way. And what's exciting for me is you and I are going to create this all together and I'm going to share with you how you can participate in just a little bit too. So let me tell you a little bit more about these eight people. Some of these people are names you'd recognize immediately. Some of these people are names that people who are not even in the industry would recognize immediately. Some of these people I guarantee you have never heard of before and those in some ways can be the most interesting because they are the quiet, extraordinary ones who are making big waves in this industry and not looking for fame. And for a lot of you, you're like, that's me. And so I want to bring the stories of the people who are like influencers and you're going to be super inspired by it and they are breaking down like what it actually looks like, but also those who are like small town heroes and what that looks like too. I spent almost four months in just pre interviews, scripting, planning, working with our production team, flying back and forth to la. Recording days were four to five hours of production each. Emily on my team and our video editor Brendan have spent hundreds of hours putting this all together for you. And what we got was eight conversations that I genuinely believe could change their trajectory of your career. If these stories hit you at the right moment and if even just one of them resonates, I do think that this has the power to change careers and change lives in just one story. Okay, so let me tell you a little bit about the four interviews that dropped today and then the four that are coming in a few weeks so that you can get excited for both. So one of the guests you'll hear from today owns and operates a multi seven figure salon, meaning multiple millions of dollars in revenue annually. Her salon is in a small city, so they're not in like a huge metropolitan area and that's how they pull it off. She's a team of 60 and she single handedly is able to fill every single one of their chairs with clients through her own salon marketing strategy. She does not need those people to do their own marketing. She does it all herself. If you're a salon owner, I want you to imagine being able to boldly say I filled the chairs of 60 people on my team through my marketing. It's a pretty bold share. And that's not to say that her team doesn't market at all or isn't part of it, but because the marketing is so powerful, she doesn't have the same issue a lot of salons have, which is their stylists don't want to get on board, they're not interested in participating. Her team wants to get into it because they buy into her method because it actually works. She also talks about her multi six figure salon give back party. So imagine spending hundreds of thousands of dollars, a salon owner on a holiday party. It's just different. The way she plays the game is super different. She also talks about how she attracts countless applicants to her salon and more. This is when you're going to want to listen to over and over and over again. You're also going to hear from an industry educator whose business I've watched not from the ground up, but from a few years back truly explode. She's only 27. She's a multi six figure stylist who's deeply specialized. So for those of you who are like, don't specialize too early, wait until you hear this one. She has a 400 plus person wait list. Her brand is exquisite and she is being flown around the country as an independent educator and was hired on by a major brand's education team. All while being seriously one of the most humble, kind, brilliant, most generous stylists I've ever sat across from. She's amazing and I know everybody's gonna have major takeaways from her interview. We also have an interview with a seven figure booth rental salon owner who's built one of the most powerful salon cultures within a booth rental space I've ever seen. It's like a dream salon. It's one of those where I'm like, who do you look up to? People drop this name. She's also a working mom. She has built, in my opinion, one of the most brilliant and disruptive brands on the market today. She's reset the standard of customer experience in all the ways and her story is going to absolutely blow your mind. And lastly is the interview that not only impacted me, but our entire production team in a way that we could not have designed or anticipated. So she and I stopped talking and whenever we finished the interview, I kind of look up to the team to like see where we're at. I saw the faces of the nine people standing around us filming this project, doing the production. These people are not even in the industry so like they don't know what we're talking about, right? This was so different. Their faces, in a heartbeat let me know, like, what just happened here right now was special. Something just different happened in this room today. This conversation's gonna move mountains. It opened hearts, it opened minds. It made us rethink wealth and the impact of success in like, such an incredible way. This guest knows who they are. I'm so grateful for you. This was a really powerful one. So those are the four that are available right this second. It's like a binge situation. Like set aside some time and then coming up next, we have one of the biggest educators in the industry today who's gonna break down the highs and lows of a huge instagra following, balancing life as a working mama. What it really looks like to be a huge educator. Like the real real. We've got a salon owner who converted her salon from booth rental to employee based and found massive success. On the flip side, like no regrets going from booth rental to employee base, her team has never been happier. We have got a deep multiple six figure stylist and booth rental salon owner who has zero Instagram following. Like, it's not her bag. She doesn't care. That's not how she built her business. And instead she kind of has this like speakeasy way of filling her chair that for some of you you are going to be like salivating over. And then we also have a studio suite owner who is scaled to multiple six figures in her studio suite working with an assistant in the most genius way to scale I've ever heard for a studio suite owner. So I think you're going to absolutely love that. There's seriously something for everybody in this interview series. We are shaking shit up. I'm in my transparency era. I'm in my enough of the misinformation era. I'm in my if it's real, come to the table with the facts era. I am here for it. I just want to have more real conversations.
