A
Who do you think would have a better chance to win Dancing with the Stars? Me or Jerry?
B
Tell him you got the two new hips, Matt.
A
My hips move like Shakira. I've said that before.
C
I almost want to see a dance move right now. I see both the faces.
A
I don't know if I could pick.
C
One of you guys.
B
All right, welcome in everybody to Throwbacks. Don't forget to like and subscribe on all social platforms. YouTube, Facebook. Not Facebook. Just kidding. I don't even know why I said that. Everything is at Throwback show. We got a good one for you today. Stick around. Later we got a little twisted tea trivia with Annie Agar. We're gonna. We're gonna change the game a little bit as I catch up to Matt. But Matt, why don't you take it away because I'm hyped about this guest today.
A
Yeah, buddy. All right. This guy, he's versatile. He's a great tennis player. He's a single digigit handicap. I think on the golf course. I've seen it. He can split the G like nobody's business. And if you don't know what that is, look it up. But more importantly, he out kicked his coverage on the Bachelor when he found love and got engaged to his beautiful fiance Kelsey, who is definitely now more famous than him. If that wasn't enough, he put on his dancing shoes. He won season 33 of Dancing with the Stars, a die hard Philly sports fan, and now the official host of the Dancing with the Stars podcast, my boy, Joey Grassaday. Joey G. What up, baby?
C
What's up, boys? I love that intro. How are we feeling today? You're.
A
And by the way, he's wearing a shellback hat, which if you know, you know, Jerry knows.
B
I. I know now because Matt took me through Manhattan beach and said, we gotta go have a drink here and take a shot and buy the hat. Joey, off that intro, I'm not going to lie. I don't quite know what splitting the G is. Does that make me some kind of like, old man? What. What's splitting the G?
C
You got to get to Scotland or Ireland. I feel like to fully understand that one. But I love that Matt hyped me up for it. But the truth is I think I went 1 for 13 on split in the G during my time in Scotland, which I love it. I mean, let's. Let's start a different, different story here. That I was actually good at it. But it's. It's drinking a Guinness in that first sip. You Take. You're supposed to be able to split the G on the, on the Guinness pint. And I'll tell you what, Jerry, I tried a lot. Like, I put some effort in when we were in Scotland. You did a lot of effort to get good at it. And I never, I never got good, but I had a great buzz and we had a good time. So that's what's most important, bro.
A
Dude, I mean, all these guys, everyone was just literally just taking back Guinness and pints and just splitting the G every time. Yeah, Joey. Joey is feeling it. You know, we rode back in the car the next day to the airport.
C
Saw me on two car rides. I feel like on that trip that were at my best. But the thing is, is no one told you could ask the bartender to fill it back up again. When I was trying to split the G, I was like, oh, I got to chug the rest of it. And then I got to go, I got to go for the next one. And yeah, I found out the smart people were just filling it back up so they weren't drinking multiple beers.
B
Did anyone have it really going where they were? Really just like.
C
I'll tell you, Jerry, I was not one of them. But that's okay. I'm going to keep trying. That's all that matters. What?
A
Well, first of all, thanks for coming on, dude.
C
We appreciate you.
A
We know you're a busy guy right now with the pod with Dancing with the Stars and obviously, I mean, a champion of that show. But before we get into to that, just how. How is engagement life? I've had, I've had the, the honor to hang out with you this summer, get to know you and Kelsey, who I love, she's a sweetheart. What's engagement life like? And I know, I know we got a wedding coming up, dude. Give us the goods.
C
Yeah, man. Engagement life has been fun. Definitely just a different section of my life that I've been looking forward to, where I get this ability to kind of just fall into comfortability in this relationship with someone that, as you said, I out kicked my coverage and I was so lucky to meet. But it's been really nice. I feel like as of this last probably half a year to a year, we've really hit our stride and separating this idea of coming off a TV show and starting our real life and figuring out what makes the most sense for us. And I think we're just in this part of our life now. We're really trying to tackle things together and figure out what's going to make the most sense for us as we move forward. And that's what's been so exciting. I'm one of those guys that's always looked forward to this section of my life because I love this idea of trying to build a life with someone. And that's where we're at right now. So wedding is going to be sometime in 2027. I owe my wedding planner a text back as of like two days ago, so I need to get on that. We're in the full, the full thick of it. But it's, it's so fun because now we're really starting to picture what that day is going to be looking like. And yeah, man, it's just, I mean, we'll get into it, I'm sure on this show. But getting off that show of the Bachelor and everything like that, it takes some time to really feel like you're in it. And we've been fully in it this past half a year to a year and it's been awesome.
B
Well, I feel like just seeing the jerseys you got going on in the background, we were talking off the air a little bit about your Phillies. You're a big sports guy. I'm guessing you're not doing the fall wedding thing. If I had to get. I'm just guessing you're not going to be Sunday, 1pm Fall.
C
No, you can't do it. You can't do it. It's funny enough, actually. It's always trying to schedule stuff around that. I feel like we're looking at a spring wedding where the sports are a little bit more dead. I think that's, that's the strongest. But yeah, I mean, this is the best time of the year for sports right now. We got playoff baseball. We're full swing in football. Basketball is already starting up again. So yeah, the fall is. Kelsey understands my love for sports. She always said it was a little surprising how much I love it because it's something that you can't really show right away on that show. But she loves the live sporting event. So my favorite thing is now is we're trying to go as many live sports as we can. She just loves the energy of it and you know, she's funny enough. I'm, I'm, I'm Philly everything except for the packers because my, my mom grew up in Green Bay, so I'm a die hard packers fan. That's usually the one I say I have like the most legions to the one that's hard when they lose. And funny enough, Kelsey's dad is From North Dakota and she's a die hard Vikings fan. So that's been a lot of fun right from the get go.
B
That's a tough spot because you don't have, you can't do the team in law thing. Like my wife is from Cleveland. They're all Browns fans. I'm a New Yorker, so I root for the Browns as my team in law. Your team in is in direct conflict with your Packers. That's tough.
C
Play twice a year and she lets it be known when they play. I feel like she gets, she turns even, even more of a louder Vikings fan every time they play each other. So I, I just, I get ready for it every time.
A
What kind, what kind of. I feel like this topic comes up all the time with Jerry, but what type of fan are you when you're watching your hometown play? Because Jerry, as you can imagine and you're, you're a Philly guy. So I know Philly fans are freaking psychotic. I played the Eagles once on Thanksgiving. I thought I was going to die leaving that. What kind of fan are you watching these games? Because, Because I watch games like I'll watch a Dodgers game and I am the eternal pessimist. We suck. We're down to like, I turn the TV off and Josie's like, oh my God, dude, you're the worst, you're the worst sports fan.
B
Stay positive.
A
Like, like what are those? I was, what are those conversations like with Kelsey when you're watching your teams?
C
We watched. I can go back to the, I think it was the, the Cowboys, packers just played on that Sunday night game and Kelsey I think had four or five times. She said she jumped up off the couch when I screamed because it came out of like nowhere. So I, I, I get in it. I feel like it's hard not to, especially when you're stupid enough like me to think that I could do better in that situation. At least you played and you can have some thought on it. I'm just the couch warrior that just has this idea that I hear the armchair. I could fix this. This is crazy that we're doing this, but I get vocal, I think more in the packers situation. But I do like to pride myself on probably being one of the more level headed Philly sports fans. I love my Philly sports fans. I grew up with all of them. I was in Philly area from second grade through college. And I mean they, they want to sell the team after every loss. So I don't go that far. I probably have about like two to three hours of it ruin my day. And then I come back being like, it's sports. We can. We can come back to it. I think my. My boys are still probably grueling over that Eagles loss to. To this last week. I don't think that's going to drop for a bit against the Broncos, so that's going to hold for a little bit.
A
Well, I got a question for you. What was a greater night in your life? Winning the mirror ball trophy or watching the Eagles win a Super Bowl?
C
I'm going to say the mirror ball because I loved seeing the Eagles win, but if it was the packers, we would have an interesting conversation on it. I think we would, because it was. We got to go to the Super Bowl. We got. This year. I made a bucket list of 30 things I want to do before I turn 30, and one of them was to go see the Super Bowl. And in my back of my head, I'm like, I'd be pretty sick if the packers went. But of course, I. That didn't even happen. The Eagles drowned that early. But then when the packers go out, I do pull for the Eagles. So it was so fun to go to that game. The energy in New Orleans is crazy, but the mirror ball is pretty sick, dude. That's what I'm going to hold on to for a bit. That's a hard.
A
I got to be honest with you.
C
I'm jealous.
A
That would go up on the shelf for sure.
C
It usually is right there. But now it's in the. It's in the podcast studio that we have every week just to kind of, you know, remind people that I. I did do something pretty. Yeah, you're.
A
By the way, you're. You're a champ. You are a champion.
B
You got a ring. You got a different kind of ring.
A
By the way, Jerry's a champion. He was high times New Yorker of the year or something when he Stoner of the year.
B
Matt get it right.
A
Smoke.
C
A lot of the year, I couldn't get that title. That's a more impressive. I couldn't win that one.
B
Yeah, Joey, I'm going to flip it to something very serious now, because I love golf like I love golf. I try to sneak out of that. I will lie. I will do whatever I gotta do to play some golf.
C
Okay.
B
How does Kelsey feel about the game? I saw the pictures of you and Rom and Hatton. I saw. I saw. I did a little deep dive. I saw a little swing. Great positions, my guy. How does she feel? Is she into golf? Does she. Because, like, it as A As a married man, now as the old head of the group, it's a hot button topic at times in my household. I'm not gonna lie.
C
It's a great question, because I would say it's also evolving, too, because I'm curious what Kelsey's relationship is going to be like with golf as we move forward.
A
She.
C
She knows I'm obsessed. Like, it's not even a question. If you ask her right now what my favorite thing to do in my free time, she will always say golf, because it's. It's the right answer. I. I taught tennis for a living. I picked up the sport when I was about 21, 22. I started playing more consistently because I worked at a golf club, and it was so easy there. But my obsession got crazy. And the funny thing is, Kelsey's first experience of golf was the craziest one ever. That she might be the only person that's ever been able to experience this. It was going to Masters on Saturday. That was her first introduction to golf in general. Going to a live golf event. And she was like, this is really fun. I'm like, you don't even know. Like, you don't understand. My mind is blown right now. And this is what you're going to be able to see. And it was hard to, like, live up to it after, but she got to come with Matt and I to Scotland on an amazing trip with Travis, Matthew to go and do for me to play. And it was cool because that was the time where she got to go and just. She's walked with me, and she enjoys it. She likes going on the golf course. She likes seeing it. But now that we've done so many of those trips, she's starting to be like, I kind of want to play. And she's got a decent swing, by the way. I'm curious. I'm curious to see what it would be like.
A
That's the greatest thing you could do is Jerry and I in marriage. You got to set the foundation early. You got to set, like, you gotta. You just gotta say, hey, babe, listen, like, we're gonna golf together. It's gonna be five or six hours a day. Just want to make sure, like, negotiations start to come and play a lot when you get kids. You're not there yet, but yeah, I mean, dude, this is something. Jerry is a living negotiation with his wife when it revolves around golf. I'm like, well, I, I.
B
She's gonna listen to this. I hope this goes over well, Joe. I hope this goes over well. She likes You.
C
Kelsey has been amazing about the idea of, like, I love you having that time to go and spend with the boys. And it's a healthy way to get out. So that's. That's been awesome. She knows it's good for me mentally and all that kind of stuff, but I am really, like, curious to see this next chapter. If she starts to get into it, if it's something we can do together. Because I love that idea as well, too. You tell me. We can add that into our vacation plans on the regular. Dude, I. She's got a nice bag. I'm trying to make everything as perfect as possible. When she wants to go and play.
A
By the way, that's how they all start. Then it just changes.
C
I'm sure.
B

You know those days where you start with just a couple of friends and maybe a backyard grill going, and before you know it, you've got the whole crew there. Music playing and the game on. That's a twisted T day.
D
Twisted tea is a real brewed iced tea, but with a kick 5% alcohol. So it actually tastes like the tea you love. Just a little bit more fun. It's full of flavor, super refreshing and smooth because there's no carbonation. That means you can sip it all day while the good times keep rolling. And if you've ever had twisted tea at a tailgate, guys, it is A game changer. There's no heavy, bloated feeling, just cold, smooth refreshment that pairs perfectly with burgers, brats, and the pregame buzz in the air from the first parking lot toast to the last whistle. Twisted Tea keeps the energy up without slowing you down.
A
So this weekend, keep it smooth, keep it flavorful, keep it twisted. Grab a refreshing twisted tea today. Saturdays meant everything back in college. The prep, the crowd, the energy, the food after the win. That feeling, you can still get it today with DoorDash streaks. Here's how it works. Order every Saturday and you'll build up the savings up to 250 bucks off over the season, including $100 in DoorDash credits. Game day food, drinks and snacks now, deals later. It's a smart play. And trust me, once that streak hits, you might feel like you're back in the end zone. DoorDash streaks has fans going full mascot out here, so keep it cool. Or don't. Just make sure you're ordering on Saturdays and getting rewarded. Doordash build up the savings win every week. Terms apply. Promo period through November 18th.
B
Something else Matt and I were talking about the other day. Knowing you, we're gonna have you on because I, I wanted to ask Matt if he had a bachelor party. I did not. I'm a little more like down on bachelor parties, I guess. I don't want the. I didn't want the pressure of, like, we gotta have a great time. What's gonna. I definitely don't ever want to plan anyone's bachelor party. That, to me, sounds like the most possible stress. So where do you stand, Joey, now? You know, nice round of golf's not a bad idea for. Where do you stand on the bachelor party as a art form that's sort of slipping away in. In.
A
Is it though? Is it though?
D
I think a little.
A
You're the only one I've heard that doesn't like a bachelor party.
B
But that's okay.
C
I. I think. I won't lie that I, I do agree it might have changed a little bit. I feel like it was an automatic. And sometimes you hear people have almost like a hybrid where they kind of just like, well, this will count as my bachelor party type thing. They don't make it as big of a deal. I personally love the idea of having one, but mine is going to be shifted towards what I want to do. And all my boys already know exactly what mine's going to be. We're going to some middle of nowhere cabin or golf club and we're getting A big house. And we're just going to play golf the entire weekend and fill up that house with drinks and food. And I don't need to go to some crazy bar. I don't need to be going and being like last night. Every single type of energy, it's for me. I love the idea of a celebration for something that I want celebrate, which is just a time with my boys to celebrate the idea that I'm about to get married and go do something I love, which you get me a full golf trip. I'm gonna say yes all the time. So that's. I'm sure that's where it'll go. I'm not trying to make it too crazy, but it'll be at some cool. Whether it's going to be something like a Palm Springs or somewhere more out there. We'll go get a nice big house and go play golf the whole weekend. And that. That's my goal.
B
I gotta come to this bachelor party. We gotta become faster.
A
I get it. I. I don't.
C
I just.
A
I don't know. Something about being on the golf course six hours with some of my buddies. I'm thinking about my boys. Just doesn't sound like a great time.
C
Hey, my. My guys know too. I'm like, you got to sharpen up the game a little bit too, I guess. Everyone's got to be somewhere close to at least a 15. We can't be throwing the ball all over the place. Matt, you got to clean up the game if you're coming, so we got.
A
To get you there. Yeah, that's like. That was like me in Scotland and just.
D
Just.
A
I just. I don't like the joint bachelor. Like the joint bachelor bachelorette parties. I do think that it is a time for however you want to spend it, but, like, I. I gotta have. I know people that are like, yeah, I'm just gonna do it my. With my girl. I'm like, like, what? Like. What does that mean?
C
It doesn't.
A
It's just like. It's like a one. It's not even a last hurrah.
B
You guys got the rest of your lives.
A
Yeah, you got the rest of your lives.
C
Like, this is.
A
This is like you're. You're sell. We're celebrating Joey on a weekend. You weren't celebrating Kelsey weekend. Like, I don't know. I just.
C
I agree. I think. I think that's the purpose of the wedding, right? The wedding is supposed to be a celebration of both of you, but this is your one chance to kind of morph it how you want. And Kelsey's idea of what her perfect weekend to celebrate. This is going to be way different than mine. So I don't think that makes sense to put those together. But it works for some people. It won't. It won't be how we do ours. She makes jokes about. I'm like, you go. You go have fun. I got different plans.
A
Two quick thing. Two quick things.
C
Really quick.
A
One, I did have two bachelor parties.
C
That's impressive.
B
Don't act not surprised.
A
Yeah, that was impressive. Shout out to my wife.
C
She's the best.
A
And second, I'm just letting you know, I'm one for one officiating weddings. I'm batting 100%. I'm ordained.
C
Hey, we were just talking about this the other day. We. We went to two weddings and we're like, we got to really make sure we find someone solid. Dude, you. You just put yourself.
A
Well, I. Our friend. Our friends Corey and Sammy, you know, I did. I officiated their wedding. A lot of nerves. I was probably more nervous than I've ever been, but I. I think I did pretty well. So I'm just saying. I'm just saying, dude, like, you know.
B
Now, Joey, wouldn't you want a seasoned professional of stage, bro, I speak for a living.
A
I speak in front of people for.
B
Several Emmy, Golden Globe nominations, 300 episodes of television. Wouldn't you want someone a little seasoned?
C
And I'll tell you what, that is pretty good. It's two great picks. I don't even know where to go here. I. We were talking about, though. I think it is important to have someone that is very comfortable in front of an audience with a mic because it's that blend. You want to have them know your relationship and be able to speak on it. And. And the love itself. But it's also more important that. That is just run efficiently. That's. That's such a big part to like setting the tone of what your wedding is. And if it's someone that's not uncomfortable in a public speaking situation, it affects the whole night. And we. We've noticed that recently. We're like, this is a big thing we got to pay attention to for our wedding.
A
Well, listen, man, you guys names are. Time to think about.
C
You guys names are in the. We got time.
B
That's all we could ask for. So we always do this segment for Wendy's, and I think I have a good way to do it right now. So we're gonna do. We usually do the Wendy's fresh take, but instead we're gonna do a little twist with you. What's been the best marriage advice? Everyone gives marriage advice. Me and Matt, when we get off the air, probably gonna send you, hey, Joe, don't ever go to bed angry, right? Like, what's been the best marriage advice to this point since. Since the show that you have received?
C
It's a great question. My best merit advice that I've gotten in. It's been kind of consistent through a lot of, like, successful couples that I've talked to is just to keep dating, to not forget the fact that as much as you're getting more comfortable with each other, just to kind of remember, you got to do a lot of those little things to keep it fresh, to keep it fun, keep each other on your toes. Because, yeah, I'll be the first to admit I'm the type of guy that gets very comfortable, and we just kind of can kind of exist at the same time in a lot of ways. And you got to remember that. That.
B
That's.
C
That's not something you want to always be the case. You got to keep the fire alive in the relationship. So, yeah, that's. That's the best advice I feel like I've gotten. That I know is huge for me to remind myself personally.
B
All I'm gonna say to you as far as the actual wedding, I find that the entrance music, if you go that route, whatever you guys come out to as for the first time, it kind of sets the tone for the night. Like, the ceremony is going to be beautiful. But that song, when you guys walk out, maybe you. You know, you show a little of your dancing skills, which everybody knows you have, that sets the tone for the night, buddy.
C
All right, I'll remember that one. That's key. I'm gonna. I'm gonna hold that one.
B
That was our fresh take of the week, presented by Wendy's. Wake up with Wendy's breakfast.
A
We had a. We had a. I totally just, like, Josie's so angry still. We had a whole thing. You know, you've seen weddings where they do, like, a choreographed dance or a song kind of, like, to Jerry's point, this wasn't for the reception we had. I had a Tupac song that I, like, memorized. I already knew. And she had, like. I don't even know if it was Nicki Minaj or whatever. And we had something, and. And she was ready to do it because she's. She's an actor. She could do. I chickened out, like, the week of. I was like, I can't do this dude.
B
I can't remember that. When you cast your officiant, Joe.
C
Okay.
A
Oh, it was. It was California love and she was doing Getting G with Miami, you know, the Cuban, California whatever.
C
It was just.
A
I was like, I can't do it.
C
It. So you don't feel comfortable on the dance floor? It's not something you can do.
A
Joey. That's a great segue as we get into Dancing with the Stars because. No, I do not. And how did it feel?
C
Take.
A
Take us back. You won season 33 of Dancing with the Stars. I'm super jealous because I've loved this show for a long time. I know the. The wonderful Dena Katz, who is just like the brains and casting and all that behind the show. She's amazing. She's a Trojan. Going back to your experience, like winning that, how was that process? I'm just curious of like the. The week to week and the day to day grind of that, because I know there's a lot that goes into that.
C
Man, I could talk about Dancing with the Stars for hours. That show has changed my life fully in so many amazing ways. But it's just like, it's the whole process of how everyone puts it into it. As you talked on Dina, she's the best with casting, but she's so hands on through everything to make everyone feel comfortable. For me, it was. It was a grind, dude. I was fully in it. And that's kind of how I am. If I'm going to commit to something, I'm committing to it fully. And I just loved learning something new. I'm also that guy. That's why I fell in love with golf so much. It's something that you know you can't master. You're putting so much time and energy into something that there's always a new goal. And dancing was the same way. There's so many levels to it. I found out pretty quickly that I had rhythm. I could listen to music pretty well, and for some reason, when you put me under that, like those bright lights of, okay, this is live. You got to go deliver a dance. I was actually pretty damn good at it. So all that came together like, okay, this is going to be a really fun experience. But then I took the challenge of, well, how good can I actually get at ballroom dancing? Because it's such a niche skill that takes time and energy. And that was my favorite part, was it just like, okay, I'm going to figure out how to get the. This technique down so that I can feel more confident and look even better. Out there and actually progress through this. But dude, it starts off with like four hour days, but by the end when you're learning two dances and you have like dances are an hour and a half, sorry, a minute and a half long for a show. It's like, I mean, we're putting in six to eight hour days at the end. It's. It's crazy. And it's no days off. You're. You're in it the whole time.
B
So I, I saw an interview. You did or. I don't, I don't have the exact quote, but you, you really equated it to like, this is the closest I'm ever going to be to being a professional for sure. Right. And in, in hearing that, it really got me thinking too. You know, I especially like that Tarzan theme samba. Right? Like you hit that and it literally is like Aaron Judge hitting a walk off home run. Like your social. You just, you're like, do you even look at your phone when that episode airs? Because your social media must have just exploded when you hit that one. It was like a walk off.
C
Yeah, man, it's crazy. The reason why you feel like I love that you just compared me to Aaron Judge. I'm gonna hold on to that for a while.
B
So you're aware it had to be a Yankee.
C
I understand. Hey, that was a big hit. It's understandable. But yeah, man, it's like the reason why I compared it to feeling like a pro athlete because it was. I mean, I love sports. Growing up, I always wish I wasn't going to be able to play tennis professionally, but it was like the, the energy you put into something and then, you know, you have this one moment and everything just comes into this one moment and you know that you only have this one moment. You could do amazing in blocking, you could do amazing in dress rehearsal. But then it's live. No matter how prepped you are, you have this one shot to crush this dance. And that feeling you get in their stomach, those butterflies that, I mean, I, I was on our season, we were with Danny Amendola and Dwight Howard and I got to talk to him before the show and you could see they had the same energy like they were before they were going to play a professional game. And I was like, this is so cool that I get this experience. But yeah, man, when those dances blew up, you got to be engaged because you're getting on your phone trying to get people to vote for you. It's part of the show. But I could not believe the amount of love and excitement and things that came along with it. It was just. It was such a fun bubble and period of time where, yeah, it's. It was a live event that people look forward to every week. And that's the closest I will ever be to feeling like a professional athlete and pretty cool that I want it to that. That's why I hold on to it even more.
A
It has got to be, what a moment. Is there a. Is there an overall strategy like. Like giving the contestants now advice and also what you went through? Clearly you got to put in the work, right? But is there a strategy when you look back, like, man, like, this is what you should do. And maybe it is just like being on your phone and trying to get everybody to vote for you. What was the strategy you took?
C
You know, it was something that I don't know if you can even even like, simulated or make it happen because it's so hard, because I was so competitive and so in it, that that was why I think I got to the point that I did. But at the same time, the biggest advice that I would give that I did make sure I did as much as I could. But it was hard to. Was to have fun, because you can't forget the fact that you are literally doing like a tango to a hair metal song in a wig and a flaming neck tattoo. Like, it's not that serious. It is supposed to be so fun and so funny that we're doing this classic ballroom style to these, you know, modern day or classic songs, and you're like, it doesn't actually mix. It doesn't make sense. You're wearing ridiculous fun outfits. And I think the competition, sometimes you get caught in it because you want to win, you want to do well. But the people fall in love with the stories of, like, that person is actually having so fun dancing. And I think I did a really good job of that. If people saw me smiling and having so much fun. And that. That gets. Gets America behind you and voting for you because you gotta have fun with it.
B
So I want to get into the. The podcast that you're hosting. But first I wanted to ask, you know, because I know they've reunited like the All Stars on Dancing with the Stars, right? But, you know, you win season 33. What? I just like to make new rules for stuff. Like my big thing with golf. I always say for the Ryder cup, if you win the hole, you should get not the honors, you should get the rights. You could defer. You could say, you know what? Joey ut off on this par 3. I want to see what the wind is doing. I think that would be a cool R. Michael, what if Dancing with the Stars was like, hey, Joe, you want to defend that title? You want to defend that, defend that championship? We know you have a lot of aspirations post Dancing with the Stars and you're doing. You want to defend that? You want to defend that trophy?
C
I, I, I put, I put me and Jenna up against anyone. If I get my partner again, it's me and Jenna. I'm game. You, I put you put us up against anybody. I'd love to do it again. Man. We, we, we, we really had so much fun. And she's such a genius in what she does. So, yeah, put me in, Jenna against anyone. I'm, I'm ready to go back out there and try to defend it.
A
Who do you think would have a better chance to win Dancing with the Stars, me or Jerry?
B
Oh, tell him you got the two new hips. Matt, you got two new. Matt had double hip replacements.
A
So I did my hip, my hips move like Shakira.
B
I've said that before, but 5, 6, 1, 5, 5, 0. Flexibility.
C
I, I, the thing is, neither of you are giving me the confidence that you'd be a good dancer. That's what's scaring me. Yeah.
A
So then you could, then you could, then you could play off the likability factor, the storytelling. You know, you get like, I almost.
C
Want to see a dance move right now to really make it, make it here, like, to see who's willing to give one. I'd see, I see both the faces. I don't know if I could pick one of you guys. I, I'll, I'll give it.
A
See, I can't.
C
I'm a, I'm a chair dancer.
A
I, I, you know, like, I need to be able to move my head.
C
I have this weird.
A
Jerry is Jerry's. No.
C
I have this weird feeling that Jerry would be good. I don't know what it's giving right now.
B
He's too tall. Joey. He's like six, five.
C
He's too tall. That would, that would.
A
Travis Kelce's a great dancer. You've seen him.
C
I know it would hurt you in frame, though, when you're too tall. I, I had, I was, I'm, I'm five eleven and three quarters and I was perfect height with, with Jenna and heels to in frame. So Jerry, I'm gotta talk to, I'm gonna pick you, Jerry. I'm gonna say you'd be good. I think you guys should both do the show. That's definitely the truth of it. You guys should both do it. But Jerry, I'm picking you on this one. Sorry, Matt.
A
Damn. I don't. I can't see Jerry dancing in the club. Can't. Can't see him do. By the way, I took ballroom dancing at usc my last ever.
C
Well, I didn't know this trying to.
B
Get you to graduate, but trying to get him to graduate school management.

How do you like doing the POD for the show, dude?
C
It's been so fun doing the podcast. I feel like, for me, it's a really cool way to still be a part of the show without obviously putting the pressure of dancing every single week. One of my favorite things to do is what we're doing right now, to have the stimulating conversation, talk about something that you actually are passionate about. And I'm shocked how much I absolutely love the show still, dude. Like, I'm. I'm hooked now. I.
B
It shows.
C
I look forward to talking about it because I like putting myself in situations like that and I know everyone else is having that same feeling and it's, it's. It's stimulating conversation. There's so much to talk about. The cast this year has been unbelievable. And yeah, man, I think more and more people are starting to get behind the show and enjoy it. Even guys are being like, wait, this is actually kind of sick. Like, like, we had a guy come on the pod, which. His. He was hysterical. We did it for TikTok night. He went viral because he had it claimed, like, straight white guy thoughts was.
B
I saw that. Yeah.
C
It was literally like two guys chopping it up and talking about ball when we were sitting together and talking about the dances. And it was hysterical. And people loved it because it's like, it should be talked about more. I. I just love the show and it's been really, really fun to kind of dive into it. And one of my favorite parts, too, that we get to do on the show is we get to, like, talk about the people that a lot of the fans don't know about. Like, we get to talk about the stage managers. We're going to talk to the costume and hair department, talk to executive producers like Dina, real heroes that make a show like that run and to give them the light. Like, this week, we're talking to Mandy Moore, who has choreographed so many things for the show, and some people might not know who she is, but she literally is the person that choreographed the ERAS tour for Taylor Swift. Like, she's a legend in the dance community. So to talk to those people, to have those conversations, to just shed light on how amazing that show is, is super exciting.
A
Yeah, they're so. There's so, like, the talent, you know, because we're all in this entertainment business. The talent, obviously, is in front of the camera, but there are so many people. There's so many production people. Especially a show like yours, where there is. There's. There's the wardrobe, There's. There's just so much going on, which I think is really cool. Do you have. I think week four just finished this week. Do you have a. A favorite, a dark horse, you know, someone that you kind of have your eye on to keep an eye on for the rest of the season?
C
Dude, I. I swear I'm not. Like, I could name so many people because there's so much competition this year. I think that the current favorite, if you just look at the scores and what she's been doing from week to week, because also, her partner is just like, he's a genius with his choreography. But Whitney Levitt, who is from the secret house of Mormon Wives, she is. She. Her dances every week have just been getting better and better, and that's really hard because she started at the top of the leaderboard. It's hard not to say she's the favorite because she's been on the top every single week. And she was by herself this week after week. Week four. Dark horses, though, right now, like, Alex Earl is just getting better and better, and she was already really good on week one, and she had her best yet. Dylan Efron's a boy of mine that I love, and I think he's just getting better. And he's one of those guys that had no dance experience. So if he can catch up with the people that have dance experience, he's going to be super dangerous. But, man, we could go down the list all day. There's a lot of good castmates this year.
B
See, I hit you with a question earlier. That was. It was not a trick question, but there was meaning behind it. When I said, if they asked you to defend the title, would you? And you jumped right all over it. Because I feel like you in the booth now doing the pod, the official pod, it's kind of like Romo again. I'm comparing you to other athletes. You have the love. You want to still be doing it. So I feel like you're so equipped to talk about it because you really do genuinely love the show and everything that goes into it. So it's a cool gig.
C
Man.
B
When you. When I saw that's what I thought of. When I saw you were doing that, I'm like, oh, that's like getting a great platformer player to do Monday Night Football or Something, because that show.
C
Yeah, man. And I'm a sponge right now. I mean, I get to still connect and talk to the pros every week. I'm still trying to understand all these different styles and things to look for. But I think what's even more exciting is someone like, you know, like a Romo or Brady that gets in the booth is they get this ability to give so much expertise. But I think my side of it that's so fun is I'm still so curious. Like, I'm sitting in those conversations and I'm asking questions because I want to learn more. Again, our interview this week that'll be coming out on Thursday. Like, we talked to a former pro, and I just got to kind of have her explain to me again, like, I was 10 years old, what they're actually looking for. What's this difference of why this move is something the judges are looking for and why this person wasn't as sharp as this person was. And then, like. Like, that stuff is just so interesting to me. And, yeah, I'm just trying to be a sponge, and I'm excited to keep having more people learn about it.
B
Can you deep dive for me on the pod? If you think athletes have an unfair advantage on the show?
C
I think for me, I noticed with tennis, footwork is a huge part of the show, especially for males. What I've noticed is that a big part of ballroom is being able to travel. Like you have to in those frame dances, be able to work along the dance floor. And I was just like, dude, this is the same as me trying to stay low for a forehand and get to that ball really quickly. So it was really natural for me to travel. The issue for athletes that I didn't run into as much and I don't know why is they can be a little rigid, they can be a little tight because you're so used to. They get cor. They get choreography so quick because they understand this idea of what they need to do. But listening to music and loosening up and getting a little bit more comfortable is hard. Unless, you know, we have the gymnasts that come in, like, Jordan, for as a female, she's on this season, Jordan Childs. And you could tell. I mean, she does floor routine. Her ability to move and commit and show a performance is unbelievable. And I think the guys sometimes struggle more with that. Like, Danny will be the first to admit the dude was in it fully and loved it, but he's like, bro, it is half his body's metal. He's like, I Can't not be stiff in some of these situations. And I was like, yeah, I mean, that's, that's, that's a disadvantage. But if you ask anyone, like, how much his mindset was there and how learn how quickly he learned choreography, how, how sharp his footwork was, like, that definitely is an advantage for an athlete.
B
Well, we're going to let you go. Before we do, I gotta say, I, I've been on this, this island for a while. As a New York sports fan, of all the fan bases, I think that are arguably the most brutal, it's Philly fans, like, to the point where it was Knick Sixers. Two years ago, I almost quit Twitter. My feelings don't get hurt by what anyone says on Twitter. Philly fans hurt my feelings. How does such a nice guy like you end up coming out of Philly? You don't feel like a Philly fan, but I'm sure you could hurt my feelings if you wanted.
C
I could find a way. But I, you know, the thing is, is they go for the low blows. They come after you personally.
A
Just assholes.
C
At the end of the day, I got so many boys that I am close with that are Philly F fans. I am too. I will say. I moved to Philly in second grade and I was that, that was. I. Maybe that's what it is. I wasn't born. It was maybe something in the water that didn't happen right away. Yeah, I try to be one of the more understanding Philly fans, but, dude, it's. I, you're the only one. The thing is, is I will always defend them too, because there is something about that culture that is so good for sports. You need to have that, that fan base that you hate. You need to have that energy. When you walk into a stadium, like, like, I love going to a game at the Link or going to Citizens bank park and feeling like you're going to just demolish the other team. That is something that is so special, which I will always defend the Philly sports fans. But then sometimes when they go a little too far, I'm like, guys, we got, we gotta clean this up. Like, what are we doing here?
B
You're gonna make Ferrari cry.
C
Jerry's a nice guy. Why are you making him cry? We don't need that. But yeah, man, I, I, I always make that joke. I told that to Matt earlier. Like, I do try to be one of those, those kind. Try to, to change a little bit, I guess, the, the stigma. But it's not going to take one of Me, there's too many of them out there that are just. They're brutal.
B
Well, we appreciate you, man. Good luck with the Dancing with the Stars podcast.
A
I mean, crushing it.
B
Romo Amman in the booth. You're on. You're in that category now. Yeah. Keep it up.
A
I'm gonna come see you at a show.
C
Jerry, if you want to come out to you, just let me know. We'll get you out there. But, boys, I appreciate your time. This was fun chatting with you.
B
Yeah, absolutely. Joey, Take care, man.
D
Man.
B
All right. Annie Agar joining us as she does every week courtesy of Twisted Tea. Grab a refreshing Twisted Tea. Today we're gonna do some Twisted Tea trivia.
D
Yes.
B
And I think Matt and I are tied, like, within weeks that we've won.
D
Yes. But Matt's got the overall matters. Yeah.
B
I was thinking, Matt, maybe we should do something where the win. I want to put a jer. I know how much you hate wearing jerseys. If I win this, I really want to put a jersey on you of my choice. As I see all of Annie's back.
D
Give him a Scatter Boo jersey.
A
No, that's good.
C
I would love.
B
I know this one's going to be painful. I got to make it painful. Well, we just go. You're up three to two in game. You're up three to two in games, Matt. So you're up three, two. All right, really quick. Before I got started, I was thinking this. This weekend for, like, my NFL question for you guys.
D
Okay. Yes.
B
Strictly box office, which means entertainment value only. As of right now. What's the most box office super bowl matchup we could come up with not who should do it and whose time has come. What's the Most of the NFL is like, oh, we could market the. Out of this game.
A
I'm gonna see championship Jacksonville versus the Indianapolis Colts.
D
Gotta be Danny Dimes. I. I don't. I would. I like Bills Lions. Oh, I would tune in. That game could be on at 2am I would be locked in like that.
B
I have 50% of that.
D
Yeah. Okay. It's got to be. It's got to be Detroit. Maybe that's a little homer in me because I know, like, so many Detroit fans from back home would just be. I. That would be the best thing that would ever happen to them. Yeah. I guess that'd be my pick. What would you guys.
A
I'm. I'm. I'm going Bills, Bucks, Bills, Bucks. I love me some Baker Mayfield in the Super Bowl. Can you imagine?
B
I go the same.
D
Somebody's dying like, he'd be all up in somebody's face for sure.
B
Do you see that video of him talking to the fans right before walking? That's awesome.
C
Yeah.
B
Cleveland's got to be sick.
A
Imagine him going on Colin Coward, the Herd, because. And just.
D
Yeah.
A
Now you see me.
B
Oh, yeah.
A
Oh, my gosh.
D
It'd be electric.
A
Detroit would be sick, too, though.
B
Yeah, Detroit.
D
Yeah.
B
That's a. That's a hard one to ignore because their offense is so fun. All right, I was just thinking that this weekend, like, Mike, that's probably not.
D
Going to be the matchup. Yeah.
B
But what's the most box office? So good answers. What do you got for us with some twisted tea trivia this week, Annie?
D
Gentlemen, it's going to be a little different this week. We're going to do several questions like we did before, but then we're going to show you guys a picture of a current player. No identifying marks, no logos, no teams, no nothing. No fields in the background even. And you have to tell me who the players. It's harder than you think because they're not hat in a helmet.
B
And they was like, no, it sounds pretty hard.
D
There's two. There's two pictures. One I got right away. The other took me a minute. So. All right, these are guys like, we see all the time, so it'll be really interesting.
B
But if you're listening on audio, hop on YouTube to watch the picture one. But we'll start with some audio ones first. All right, Matt with the slight lead. Let's begin.
D
Matt's got this slightly ready? Question number one. Who is the current league leader in passing yards? Hurts.
B
Daniel Jones.
D
Nope. Good guess, though.
C
Current league leader.
D
Think of. Yeah.
A
Oh, my God, I just saw this.
D
Think of, like, high production from the watch.
B
Oh, Matthew Stafford.
D
Yep. Yeah. Yeah. Matt Hookah. Okay. Danny Dimes. Yeah.
B
I was a trick. That was a trick question. That's why.
D
Exactly. Okay. Who is the current league leader in sacks?
C
In sacks.
D
This kind of surprised me a little. I mean, not really, but it kind of. Yeah.
B
Is it. It's not.
A
What conference? You should only, by the way, get two guesses and then you're done.
B
Okay.
D
Yeah, that's good. That's a good rule, Matt.
A
Good rule. Can we get a conference. Can we get a. Get a.
C
Well, conference.
D
Get.
A
We did a division.
B
Joey Bosa.
C
No, there's one guess.
A
Can we get a division?
D
Division. I'll give you a division. AFC west, right? Yes.
B
Oh, Max Crosby.
D
Nope. Nope. That was a great guess.
B
I'm out. I'm Out. Go ahead, Matt. Floor is yours.
A
AFC West.
D
Okay. Their defense was, like, highly touted this off season. Pretty sure he had a couple, couple sacks this week.
A
Who else is in the AFC West? Chiefs?
C
Chargers, Raiders.
A
Oh, it's a Broncos player. Yeah, I don't even know.
D
Yeah, I didn't, I don't think I did till like two weeks ago.
A
Damn it.
D
Bonito.
B
Bonito.
D
Yeah. Yeah.
A
He just got paid, too, last year.
D
Yeah.
C
Yeah.
B
So no blood there.
A
Damn it.
D
Yep. Third question and then we'll get to the pictures. Who has thrown for the most touchdowns so far this year?
A
Baker.
D
Nope.
C
That's one. That's one.
A
I know Jerry Jordan probably, Probably had.
D
Their best game this past week.
B
Oh, shoot.
D
Maybe. Maybe. Yeah, I would say the best. Probably the best game this past week. Everybody's saying they're back. At least the most touchdowns.
A
No, Mahomes, they're.
C
Oh, God, that's.
B
I'm out of guesses because I snuck one in there.
D
Oh, yeah, you know, we're.
A
No, no, we're both out. So let's keep playing. So give us another guess.
D
Yeah. Yeah, you're, you're back to zero. Yes. Let me know if you want to hit.
A
Yeah. A hint. Yeah.
D
Nfc.
B
Yeah, I don't know if that helps at all.
A
That knows it down to six or.
D
The majority of good quarterbacks already.
A
Yeah, I'm gonna go with.
D
We, we just mentioned them.
B
Darnold.
D
Nope. No, no, we, we mentioned them like five minutes ago.
A
Jared Goff.
D
Yep. Oh, not weird.
A
I mean, I'm gonna take a terrible point. Terrible point.
B
All right, but now we're here.
C
This is what we.
D
This is the fun one.
B
Okay, Pictures, which Matt might actually know some of these people personally.
D
Picture number one. Who is this player?
A
This Ashton Genti.
D
Yes, sir. That. See, I don't know if it's like, because we saw him leading in the draft so much.
A
That's still tough. That's still tough.
B
I would have, I think I would have got it, but I would have needed like a minute.
D
Plus it looks different with his hair kind of pulled back.
A
But also he's an all black. Raiders black socks. You kind of have to put, you know, two and two together.
D
All right, picture number two. This one was a little bit tougher.
B
The smile kind of does Jam. Williams.
D
Yeah.
B
Jameson. William.
D
I had it.
A
That wasn't even close.
D
He looks different than to me, though.
A
You said, you said Wilson.
C
Get it right.
B
Willie, I, I said Willie. I, I, I stuttered. All right, fine. I'll stand down on that one.
D
But Those are fun, aren't they?
B
When they those were I like they were doing current players because I think if you really threw it back it would start.
D
Oh yeah.
A
So by the way, I won.
D
Yes.
A
You win the we golf with those two.
B
Congrats. I. I like. Are we gonna do that every like.
D
A very visual person maybe. Is that like your thing?
A
I mean it is. I you know when I was playing.
B
Probably interview Genty for Big Noon. What do we not.
A
I definitely did not Jerry's but I am a visual learner. You know drawing plays and all that.
C
Yeah.
D
Yeah. Oh yeah. That's a good point.
B
Are we going to do that every week?
A
I don't I.
D
With the photos I feel like we should. I don't know. Unless. Unless Jerry keeps losing them. Then it's just an unfair shout outs.
B
Twisted T. Matt, let's work on our jersey bat or what we're going to do Annie, if you have any ideas let us know. Maybe we'll use some of your jerseys off your rack back there something and good hat by the way.
D
Thank you. I know I like. Do you have a. No, you have a throwback. Sad. I thought I said twisted T for a second.
C
Matt.
B
We'll see you next week, Annie.
D
Perfect. See you gentlemen.
A
Let's do it.
