Debbie Lee lost her son Marc on August 2nd 2006 He was the first Navy Seal killed in action during Operation Iraqi Freedom Less than a year later, she held a picture of her heroic son while standing onstage with other Gold Star family members behind Tim McGraw as he performed a new song called "If You're Reading This" on national television Knowing he won't be returning home, the poignant song is a soldier's last letter to his wife and family It received a long tearful standing ovation from the audience at the Acadamy of Country Music Awards in Las VegasThe next morning Tim Hattrick was supposed to interview Debbie about her son and the experience on stage with the country superstar, but he couldn't He was overcome by the powerful emotion of the the song and Debbie's story and he couldn't speak 17 years later, Tim finally got the chance to make good on that missed interview Debbie Lee talks about Marc's spirit, kindness and bravery and how her joke-telling "class clown turned warrior" made the ultimate sacrifice to save the lives of his platoon mates She tells Tim how she turned the pain of of losing Marc into America's Mighty Warriors- an organization that serves Gold Star families, active duty military and their families and Veterans Finally she shares the story of that powerful night onstage with Tim McGaw while a national tv audience, and Tim Hattrick, watched and wept

Local Maricopa County Sheriff's Deputy Zachary Rand is competing in Tony Hawk's skatepark hero contest, for a chance to win $10,000 and a chance to meet the skateboard legend himself. Zachary will use the $10,000 to give back to the community. Zachary has a nonprofit he runs called Kickflips And Donuts. The nonprofit helps provide safe skateboarding opportunities for children in our community. Zachary credits skateboarding for helping him avoid trouble as a youth, and he hopes to help many more kids with the $10,000
