This is to the Point a Rhino Experience, fully one of the top home services, marketing and operations, podcasts, Cutting through the bullshit and getting to the point. Hey, what's up, to the Point, listeners. It's your boy Chris. This is going to be another little micro episode, another really to the Point. A lot of great feedback on the last one. So I guess I'll keep doing it until I get some negative feedback, but this one will be pretty short and sweet. You know, something big happened this week. I'm pretty sure you're all aware of it, and I'm pretty sure y'all got some feelings about it. Yes. We just finished the election and did your vote win? Were you a Trump supporter? Were you a Kamala supporter? Did you pay attention to the House, to the Senate votes? Are you Republican, Democrat, Independent? I don't want to forget about the independents. It's. You know, I look at this like some. Some of you are super pissed right now, and you're still bitter about it, you're still mad, and you still just can't understand how someone can vote for that piece of shit Donald Trump. Or if you're a Trump fan, as I am, you are trying to figure out how in the hell could someone possibly vote for her for. For Kamala to really run this country, you know, regardless, at the end of the day now, it doesn't matter because the. The election is done. So sitting around and moping about it, you know, or being pissed about it isn't going to do you any good. Here's what I hope. And I'm going to get into a couple, you know, a couple of takeaways. Having been sitting in your shoes right now. If you voted for Kamala, us Trump supporters went through the same shit. And you know what? Did it suck? Yeah, it sucked. And we didn't understand it. And except for at least this one didn't get drug out for another week. The decision was made, and it's done. But you know what? I. And I was frustrated, too, but at the end of the day, I couldn't control anything else moving forward other than my own actions. So I thought, okay, I'm done being mad about it. It is what it is, the job. You know, the election is over, and I still got a massive responsibility with all these employees banking on me to make good decisions. So I had to put my big boy pants on, push my pride aside, and get back to work and focus on the things I could control. And these last four years, thankfully, were incredibly successful. Now, could they have been more successful if it didn't go if Trump did get voted, maybe, maybe not, I don't know. Because that wasn't the situation. All I knew is I could control what I could control and that was my effort and my attitude. So let me just say this. Whether you were on offense or defense, we'll call it Republican or Democrat or you're on special teams, we'll call that the independents. We're all Americans. We're all Americans. And listen, this country had. This election was crazy and the division between the parties was insane. And so my hope from this is somehow we find some unity as Americans to kind of come together because our country deserves it, we deserve it. But, but let's talk about this for a second. Maybe you can use this situation or this election to remotivate you if you were on the losing side, but you can also use it as a way to remotivate you if you're on the winning side. You know, some people are going to be pissed. Well, use that like, use that anger to drive you. Like, and if you want to show someone, it's like when somebody tells you you can't do something like, doesn't that motivate you to just actually want to go and crush that thing that they said you couldn't do? It does me. Those are drivers for me. But also just be like, hey, like, our guy won. We have all this, you know, optimism ahead of you and all like, and I'm going to use this and I'm going to go and I'm going to set a big, hairy, audacious goal. I'm going to go crush that goal like I'm fired up. So use it one way or the other to drive your behavior to your end goal. Set the goal high. Just something that I think that you could do is focus on that long term vision. So regardless of short term changes, a really strong business vision can help you stay on course regardless. Maybe that means you need to revisit your mission, your goals, your values, whatever it is, if you care about those things or if you need to make any shifts to it. It might not be a thing, but for some it might. Whatever it is, use it and just focus on that. Know on your vision. Embrace adaptability and be resilient. We all know that you are. You have to be. We went through Covid. We figured shit out, didn't we? But this also allows you a fantastic opportunity to show up as a leader so you see others who are watching you and seeing how you react. Be a good leader, be a good example for Them, because if you lose your shit and you're pissed and you're negative about the whole thing and that's who someone's being led by, like, that emotion will be worn off at some point time. They're going to wonder, like, do I really want to be led by this person? Or you use it as, like, the same thing, you know, if you voted for Trump, don't be a fucking asshole about it, right? Like, I'm glad that he won, too. Doesn't mean I'm going to be an asshole to somebody about it and, like, rub it in their face and things like that. A lot of people are. I'm not that guy. But you can use that emotion to drive you to do something, right? So maybe that something is just you refocusing on your, you know, okay, listen, I've been, you know, I know I've got a great future ahead of me and I want to win this thing. I'm going to refocus on my customer service or my clients or my technical training or my culture, my internal. My culture, my business, or I'm going to finally adjust my pricing, you know, to match the value of the service that we're offering. Use it to put yourself into a place of winning. You know, a lot of times when we're in an uncomfortable situation is when we learn the best lessons about ourselves and we have some of the most productivity and we have a lot of growth that comes from these shitty moments. I know I went through that and, and it again, just taught me how to like, okay, I had to refocus. I had no control over what else was going on. And think about how many times I actually shown up in life. Like, this just happens to be a situation. But these situations come up often where we get pissed about something that we actually have no control over or that we get put in these uncomfortable positions that we have no control over. Well, who comes out of that ahead? That depends on how you think about the situation and what you decide to do with it. Right? And a lot of people, A lot of people like to sit in that pissed space, you know, or prideful, because they're, you know, like in this instance, if you're voted Republican and you're the winner, you can become pride. Well, pride comes before destruction. Okay, Keep that in mind. Like, a lot of people get in their own way because of pride, so. But use either way to continue to drive yourself towards, you know, doing something amazing because you have a, you know, a team that's relying on you. You know, one thing that My buddy Aaron Gaynor did from Ego is he just went and had an actual conversation with his team. He hit it head on and just said, hey, you know, and he's the CEO of Ego, and a lot of his staff was pretty clear that he voted Republican. And he just got ahead of it and said, hey, regardless, like, these are the X, Y, Z reasons I understand, you know, by the way. And like, I just want to put it out there and open it up the conversation with everyone. And he did it in a very thoughtful way and it was a very good experience for his staff, but he got ahead of it. I thought that was very thoughtful because, you know, we're not told we're not supposed to talk about politics, you know, or religion. I talk about talking about both this podcast, but it's because I care about you guys and I think that, you know who I am and what I'm about and that, you know, the fact that I voted for Trump, if it, if it, you know, that pisses you off and you feel like you can't listen to me anymore, well, that sucks. And I'm sorry to hear that. And I, and I hope that's not the case. But if Kamala won and I knew you voted for her, I wouldn't be pissed at you. I'd be pissed at the situation, you know, because I'd be mad that we lost, but, you know, it's not going to do me any good. So, you know, whatever you do, I guess what I'm trying to say is just is get your mind right, because this upcoming year, I believe, is going to be a fantastic year for the trades, a really good year for the trades for a few different reasons. And this isn't just my gut feeling. I mean, it has been my gut feeling. I've had a lot of great conversations with a lot of really, you know, a high level people that know far more than I do about our industry and about, you know, the market and things like that. And it seems incredibly encouraging and you need to lean into that. So that's what I'm saying. Like, use the outcome of this election either way to drive you to either a new big, hairy, audacious goal that you have or to just use it to fuel, you know, that you're pissed and you want to go and show the world that you're going to do xyz. Then do that too, please. I would love that for you. All I care about the end of the day is that you go out and you win. If you need to reestablish your purpose. Maybe now's the time you do that. But if you're pissed again, you know, just use it to drive you. Because regardless of the outcome, regardless of the outcome of this election, someone had to win, right? It's no different than in your own market. Someone is going to win. Is it going to be you? Do you want to win? Are you going to do whatever you have to do to refocus to go win? I mean, that's something that I hope for. I'm. That's something I hope for you. You know, when people run a race, think about this. When people run a race, the one thing that everyone can do running in that race is run, right? That's what you're doing. You might run slower than others, you might be faster than others, but everybody in the race is running. But there's only one person, one person running who can win. Now think about your market now. Think it. Get. Get this in your mind right now. In every market, there's a bunch of use, right? There's a bunch of H vac contractors, a bunch of plumbers, electricians, roofers, garage door guys, restoration guys. There's a bunch of you doing the exact same thing in that market. You're all running the race. Some have different motivations. Some have different levels of service. Some have different, you know, techniques on how they run the race. Some might wear different shoes when they run the race, or different gear. Some might do different trainings to get better at how to run the race. But no matter what you do, where your mindset's at, someone is going to win that race. And I hope that someone's you. But that's up to you. It's up to how you use this particular situation, this election, to fuel this next phase for you, this next year for you. And I hope you do, because I care about all of you that take the time to listen to this podcast week in and week out. So I'm going to use this election to fuel me to go even bigger in 2025, to do more for you, the contractors, to really try and leave my legacy in this industry by giving back to you as much as I possibly can. So I really got to step up, I got to learn a lot more. I've got a new market intelligence position in this company. It's going to give me all the benchmarks I need from a cost per lead, cost per customer acquisition for all the different services that you guys offer, and I want to be able to share those things with you. So you have an idea of what everybody else is doing, real numbers to measure against. I'm going to go big. That's what I choose to do. And you know what? What happened last time when Trump lost, I used that to make sure I focused on my blocking and my tackling. And I thought, okay, well, what I can control is I can still. I can still grow and scale this company. I can still control my attitude, and I can still con. I still can control how much I give back, not just to you, the listener, the contractors, but also to the employees, but also just to the world. And I'm going to do it again this time around. I just didn't have to go through the valley of feeling like shit after my president lost. So, listen, I appreciate all of you guys for listening to the podcast again. This was kind of, you know, I battled back and forth. Do I do this one or not in the first place? Because obviously, you know, talked about. You know, you're talking about a very sensitive subject. So let me just finish, you know, finish this off. You're not supposed to talk about politics or religion. So I'm going to go ahead and close this one off with the verse that I think you guys will like. And I had this conversation with my son before, too, just around his effort that he's. That he puts into anything in life. Because how you do anything is how you do everything. The verse says. Do you not know that in a race, all the runners run, but only one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may seize the prize and make it yours. That's my prayer for you, listeners. Go out and win the damn race. You don't got to do everything, but you sure as hell got to do something. No. Zero days.
