30 Minute Thursday baby. We are back. I got the David Arduin with us. We're coming up a hot hot episode here. Kyle Cook in the hot seat talking all things trading secrets. A lot happening in life, lot happening in the markets, lot happening in pop culture. All the moving parts this week was on CNN Saturday. Got asked to go on Fox and Friends. You give me a platform to talk about finance in today's world, I will talk about it. David Ardin how you doing my man?
David Arduin
Doing great. Coming up a massive sabers w game four tied two two going back to Buffalo. Jay, you mentioned it last 30 minute Thursday. Any chance that you are in person for one of these playoff games here?
Jason
Well you know I on Sunday I'm doing a little thing with Bloomingdale's for the Subway Series. New York Mets, Yankees. So I'll be at that game Monday. Was planning on doing a couple podcasts and heading back to Nashville. But Monday night, if it's going to be Game 7 in Buffalo, might have to call my boy David and we might have to have a conversation.
David Arduin
Listen, I don't know if our hearts can take game seven or just the fact leading up to it, but if there is, and we're there, not mad about it. Just saying. Not mad about it.
Jason
Not mad about it. It is NHL hockey, playoff hockey. It's the best of the best. The Sabers are in it. David, you and I might be at game seven. How's life though, man? Things before we get into Kyle Cook, how is it?
David Arduin
Listen, my main theme for Kyle Cook episode I have here, it's stress. Just stress with a bunch of S's. My life's a little stressed, but you know what? There's. There's light at the end of the tunnel. Anyone who has two kids knows life is stressful. It's. That's the given. It's about how you make it. Ashley and I, we're recording on 30 Minute Thursdays. On a Tuesday night at 10:30pm I haven't even started packing because I just put the kids down. We are going to Miami, Jason. We are going to Miami for four nights with no kids. For the first time ever, the best man at my wedding, Jason. Risha is getting married. Snaps to Rish and we are excited. So this is the moment where all the stress, all the hard work, we're going to miss the kids so much. But my God, Jason, am I looking forward to this four days?
Jason
Like, what? Of all the things prep me for the day that hopefully I once have kids. What is it that you're like? Is it. Is it the silence? Is it like the sex? Is it the sleep? Is it the. Like, what is it? Those are. Those are three. Yes. In a row.
David Arduin
I got three things for you. Okay, this is. This is. We've talked about this last night. The three things. Number one is the flight. Okay? Having a flight with no kids on the plane is. You have no idea. Like, we don't even need a cocktail. We just need to be able to board the plane. How we want to board the plane. Sit on the plane. Do we want to sleep? Do we want to read a book? Do we want to watch a movie? Do we want to do my thing? I haven't deleted pictures on my phone. Like, I normally do for years. Because having a kid on a plane. Anyone who's been on a plane has seen the parents struggle. Anyone who has kids. Number one is having a plane just to relax. It's actually going to be relaxing on the plane, which is incredible. Number two is one, waking up with absolutely nothing to do. Waking up on our own time. Getting out of bed when we want to get out of bed, having coffee when we want to have coffee, doing whatever. Do we want to work out? Do we want to go for a walk? Do we want to lay out? What do we want to do? Getting up without anything to do. And then, obviously, the intimacy, Jay. The intimacy of being able to do anything you want at any time at a beautiful hotel and beautiful vacation with great vibes and wedding in the air. It's just the perfect opportunity to reconnect. Anyone who's been busy, whether you have kids or not, and you go and you have that date night and you look in each other's eyes and you talk about all the. That you've been putting off finances and family and career and personal and. And all these things. To do it for four days over a weekend. It's gonna be incredible. I'm gonna come back recharged and juiced up. I'm excited about it, man. I'm excited about it.
Jason
If I had to summarize everything I heard, which is a lot there. It's a lot. It feels like freedom. It's just like when you're. When you're going to have this little vacation, it's freedom to do what you want, how you want, the way you want. And for a couple days, you're going to have that. Mom and dad are going to have a little. Little freedom back to just do what you want, how you want, relax a little bit, kick it off.
David Arduin
And I know by day two, I'm going to miss those kids so bad. It's going to be ridiculous. But we'll be. We'll be ready to come home. But yeah, man, freedom in a. In a way that, you know, as people who go through this, it's so important to experience, but also the. The. Once you have kids, the freedom that you never want to fully experience again. Because the kids bring joy, man. They do. They're nuts. They are absolutely nuts, but they bring joy. And so it's going to be amazing, man. You were just in Miami. That's where you interview Kyle Cook. Flashback to January. You were there with Amanda. So maybe Miami's just.
Jason
You need.
David Arduin
Hey, we need a good guest. Jason's just going to fly to Miami and bump into someone and have an epic interview. Something in the air in Miami. But you were with Kyle. This is, this is a recently filmed episode. Take me a little behind the scenes here. How is he? How is he doing? I'm sure you talked a little bit more about personal life. Not while we were recording. You've known Kyle a long time. How is he?
Jason
I've said it once, I'll say it again on this podcast. I've known Kyle and Amanda both for a long time. They're both friends of mine and I. I care both about their hearts and their well being. And through all, I said that on the Amanda episod when Kyle was in a tough spot. Go listen to the recap. And so we were there. He was there for Crocs deal. And then we were both speaking on a panel at the Bloomberg House for F1 Miami. And so the way I'd summarize it, it's like he went through a tornado. And I think he's still kind of in the tornado, but he's handling it. I think the beauty of this tornado he's in is it stripped a layer of probably what I'll call safety from him. That he was wearing this armor that was safety. And that armor is stripp script. And you're just getting this vulnerable side of Kyle and I just want to like, hug them. Like, I just want to be like, it's like this sweeter, softer side that's just, you know, that protection layer is gone. And like, we hung out a lot, we talked a lot. Obviously a lot of this podcast was business focused. But the vulnerable sides of Kyle is that Kyle, that like, I'm like, dude, to bring this every day, every place, everywhere, because it just, I feel more connected to you as a friend than I ever have.
David Arduin
And I thought you guys, you did an amazing job as always keeping it, you know, business focused with little sprinkle of like, how personal affects the business. Which is why this episode was so good. Correct me if I'm wrong, but man, hearing some of these numbers and the stress and the sheer like hundred thousand dollars a month he has to bring in just to cover the loan that isn't one. Housing expense, living expense, etc. Etc. We all know, we just talked about with kids, like, there was responsibility. I go on vacation, I'm on. I. I feel like I have freedom. When you're in a marriage or in your relationship, you always think about your other's needs, there's responsibilities or things that you're not doing for yourself because of what needs to be done at the house or, or for them. Do you think there's an element, I mean, at the end of the day, his relationship obviously is over. People who have watched Summer House and who. They've led us into their lives know that there was some toxicity to it on both sides. Do you think there's an element where it's like, hey, I have to raise, I have to earn 100k a month just to cover the loan. So I need to actually make more than that to survive. So do you think there's an element of that? He's feeling freedom because he can do DJing, he can fly to Miami, he can do a speaking event, he can deal with Crocs, he can put all the energy into the company. Like, at the end of the day, he probably needed to cut that loose so he could survive.
Jason
Yeah, dude. Yes. I mean, the answer is yes, but I think it's. I think it all comes down to compatibility. Right. I just don't think when you think about the. Just the things that he's naturally attracted to when it comes to hobbies and free time and where he wants to go and his work ethic and his, his business focused mentality, he's a workhorse man. He wakes up in the morning, works, he goes to bed, he works. He is. His battery doesn't stop. I think there was probably a compatibility thing, but here's what I'll say of it all. Like, and I mean this from the realest, realist places in my body and heart. This guy really, really cares.
David Arduin
Oh, yeah.
Jason
About Amanda. And I haven't talked to Amanda in just a little bit, but I know from Amanda she really, really cares about Kyle.
David Arduin
Oh, yeah.
Jason
And there is a lot. I mean, take your judgments out, take your noise, take your opinions. It's not what I'm talking about. About. They have deep care for one another and it's, it's really cool to see like, that it didn't work out. But like, they still check in, they still care for one another, they still love one another. And I think it just came down to when you talk about compatibility, I
David Arduin
think, man, when he's doing that like TMZ guy that he's like running into on the sidewalk and then give him like four minute interviews. Like, that's not, that's not random, right? That's like.
Jason
Well, that TMZ guy actually is a. I'll call him an acquaintance, if you will. Like he. I could text him right now. I'm Trying to get him to come on the podcast.
David Arduin
Dude.
Jason
Because I want to. I want to talk all about that business.
David Arduin
Yeah.
Jason
Because typically I. I'll tell you this.
David Arduin
Ye.
Jason
That the. I know the original one, like, he. Dude, he parks up like. And. And Kyle did not know, like, the first one. Yeah. Did not know.
David Arduin
That makes sense. The second one, he had to have known because Kyle's hair has never looked better in his entire life than that second one. I was, like, mystified. I was like, how do you. How do you get it that perfect? What is that? I need that technique. I'll never have a hair long enough. But yeah, the second one, I was like, okay, this definitely. He knew this was coming because I
Jason
can't comment on that because I truly don't know. But I know the first one was. The first one was real. But yeah, I mean, I think the better thing is that we need to get Adam. His name's Adam. We need to get him on the podcast because, like, and he wants to come on, talk about, like he does. And outs. Oh, yeah. Come on.
David Arduin
Yeah. Unbelievable. Unbelievably interesting business that he has there that not a lot of people think has a lot of strategy, but obviously it probably has all the strategy in the world. Speaking of strategy, anything about this episode as you're listening to it that you didn't know that kind of shot out at you? I mean, it was packed business wise. There was a lot of numbers that was shared. Again, Kyle always blows me away with his knowledge of not just his business, but the industry, the alcohol industry. Just sounds horrific. Like, horrific to be in. In so many hurdles and so many, so many ways that the one line that I have, then I'll kick it to you is I have a business. People want the product, and I just can't even give it to them. Like, it's just too hard to even get it in their hands, which must just drive him absolutely crazy. What. What. What kind of stuck out about it to you? As someone who's had him on the
Jason
podcast for three times, there's a few things that. That stuck out. One, based on the amount of money that he raised.
David Arduin
2.2 million.
Jason
A lot. Because he did. Yeah. Did a bridge loan and SBA loan. That means he spent a lot on infrastructure. And I think. And you heard him break it all down. I'm wondering. And I actually said this to him, like, for my companies, I know I'm stretched too thin with other things, like, to manage it. All right. To be, you know, not to. Oh, what was Me. But like at the end of the day, it's like you're doing two episodes a week on a podcast. You're running an agency. I've told you this a million times, business, right? You're running the creator's side, you're running an investor side. You're jumping on CNN and Fox to go do TV correspondent. You're jumping it. You know, you get a call for a show or something, you know, to do it all and lead a business effectively. And I know I'm a great, I do. I know I'm a good business leader. I know that when I'm focused, I am. When I can give it all. There are days that I'm like, it's just like some days I'm locked in. Like today I probably put 10 hours into my businesses today. Tomorrow I'm going to have other stuff, they're going to pull me. And I'm wondering if he might have thought the same thing. Like he is an owner and an operator and he's Kyle Cook and he's on all these shows and he's creating content. It's a lot to do. And so I wonder if he would do it again if he would have hired a full time CEO. And that's a conversation I'd like to have. That's one to just think about. Like take your mortgage, right? And then multiply your mortgage by the number that makes sense. If everyone do it, think about your mortgage, guys, and then multiply that mortgage times to get to four point, what was it? 4.2 million. And that's the burden you have just for your business loan.
David Arduin
It's crazy.
Jason
Then add your mortgage, then add your 30 employees, then add the fact that like the alcohol business is, is getting tougher and tougher. Then add the middleman. Like, dude, that. That's what I was saying. My face. If you guys watch the YouTube, I'm in sheer awe. Just because the amount of stress on top of a divorce, on top of your COO leaving in January, that stress is enough to put someone six feet under. Like, no wonder he drinks on tv, dude. It's so much stress he was dealing with. And currently, honestly, thank God he's getting the support he is. But still on his plate. Like, that note's still there. He still has to pay this thing down.
David Arduin
Question, what happens if he just says, okay it, lover boy, it's great, it's been my life, but it just ain't paying the bills. He then goes bankrupt. He still owes the $4.2 million, correct?
Jason
Well, the Balance now is. I think it's paid like 1.3, if I rem, remember? Right. So I think the balance. Okay, 2.9.
David Arduin
Okay. So if he goes bankrupt and lover boy stops earning money, obviously, because it's bankrupt, and let's say he just gets rid of the company, he still owes the 2.9. Correct.
Jason
Okay. So I'm not a bankruptcy guy, and I never. Like when I was in finance, there's a group called Asset Recovery Group. When you're like, lending to large companies or you're doing a syndicated deal and the company starts performing poorly, it goes to asset Recovery. The bank has a special group that's in charge of getting the assets back. I never worked. Worked in it, I never touched it, so I can't speak to it. But what I. My guess is is in bankruptcy, they negotiate a dollar amount that they'll settle on to what they'll get paid back, and then he'll have a personal guarantee. The personal guarantee allows them to take liens on any of his assets.
David Arduin
Well, that's what I was saying is with all the time that he's in. We talked last week about time value, money, getting the guy to cut your lawn because your time's worth more than that. Do you think there's going to come a point where his time isn't worth lover boy to pay this back, and he just invests it in other ventures, through brand deals, through things of that nature to pay this thing back?
Jason
I mean, they're used like the way that summer house dude is ripping right now. Yeah. We go back five years. Like, this was not. I mean, this is one of the hottest shows with the hottest cast out there. His value at a second is going up. I don't. I don't know how he would be able to continue to do all that.
David Arduin
That's what I'm saying, man. Like, I love this passion project is lover boy, but I hear the stress. It's like, dude, there is. We've. We've talked about this podcast, how much money there is in other avenues. Get rid of the company, save yourself, get back on your feet, Stop having so much stress. You're single now, you're in your 40s. There's. Turn to the page, go on the next thing. That's what I would say to him, but I don't know.
Jason
There's too much fire, passion and competitive uses in the Kyle Cook. No.
David Arduin
What's the saying?
Jason
No one to hold them, treasure.
David Arduin
No one to hold them, nowhere to fold them.
Jason
But hey, I mean, it's It's. We'll see. We'll see, we'll do. I cannot wait to do a touch base in like a year. Maybe things will continue to turn. They're already turning. We'll see. Anything David? Before rewrap, we're. Was there anything to you that was like. Because it was very business focused that you were like, what is that? I don't understand what that means.
David Arduin
No, I think, I think I got it. Honestly, the. I thought the distribution and CPG combo was really interesting. They just, I learned a lot about the industry. But we have had him on a couple times. He's talked a lot about the similar things and so I think, I think I'm, I think I'm up to speed a little bit here.
Jason
Yeah, I mean but he talked about bridge loan when he explained it. It's just literally a short term loan last, I don't know, three, six months to three years. It's like you're bridging the gap between financing of some sort that you need. They, they were obviously going to hire. And I'll tell you one thing I thought about like when he was raising all that capital, I'm like, I've had this agency now, we've had it for five years. We've been profitable every year, we're growing every single year. We're all self funded. So I could really use some capital to grow the company and acquire. That's what I've been thinking about.
David Arduin
Okay, question for you. If I wanted to take a home equity loan out right now, let's say $30,000 because I need some cash to invest in some projects and never get a pool because my anyways, it's neither here nor there. If I take the 30 grand out.
Jason
Wait, wait, hold real quick. You wouldn't get up? You wouldn't get a pool? No, because I was like, you know what?
David Arduin
I will. If you, I were you, I would get a pool. Because time value money, you could definitely afford to like have someone do nuts to bolts where it goes back to like the stupid of like buying a house is the most biggest purchase you ever make in your life. You get to see the thing for 15 minutes and then you buy it and then you walk in and there's no instruction manuals, there's no nothing, there's no this, there's no that. And it's all trial and error and it's like, yeah, just figure it out. It's like YouTube's great. Like Google, like Google's great chat. GBT is great. But I didn't know that my energy bill was so high and we had a. Ash was pregnant. We had our son in December. Like, we're not going to use the hot tub this, this winter. So let's save money by shutting the breaker down to the hot tub so it's not at 104 degrees for six months when we don't use it. Smart, right?
Jason
Yeah, smart.
David Arduin
Yeah. Well, we went to go check the hot tub. There's no water left because all, all the pipes froze and burst over the winter. And so now to save a 16 cents a day, I, I gotta replace the pipes for 2500 bucks.
Jason
It doesn't end, dude. Like, I mean, I just, I'm, you know, I'm new to homeownership. You've been doing it forever. But I, I just, every day I wake up, I'm like, I could not work for the next six months and this house still won't be like done toy.
David Arduin
It's just the hits keep on coming.
Jason
Security. True green. Yeah, we gotta get this lawn in good shape. Oh, we gotta get this outdoor furniture. That TV broke.
David Arduin
Oh, dude. Yeah, I didn't want to go there. So anyways, I take a 30,000 out. Okay.
Jason
Okay.
David Arduin
Do I have to pay that back immediately or does that just go against, like, is that like a loan that I get that when I eventually sell the house? I just give it back when I sell the house? So is that a dumb question?
Jason
I think what you're asking me is here's how it works. Like, when you have a heloc, it's a home equity line of credit. Okay. And the reason that people do it is you're borrowing against your asset, which is your house, which has equity. Because you have equity in it. It's going to be a lower rate and it's going to be cheaper. And it has collateral. Right. So the house can come, the bank can go get your house. So it reduces the risk. They have a draw period. So you could, let's say you could draw down and the draw period based on the HELOC? Well, I don't know, might be five years or 10 years. It's the period that you can buy it down and it's kind of. Or you can borrow off it. And payments are usually, it depends on the structure, but usually they're like interest only. So what would you want to use that 30,000 for?
David Arduin
Probably like little projects that need to get done. Like, I got my pool vacuum, I took it out of storage. Fucking things snapped in half. Now it move. So I got to Get a new pool vacuum. I got to get the, there's just a bunch of things and I honestly would just probably have some just liquid just to get me through and not be so stressed. Paycheck to paycheck while I have it. And I do have a lot of. I do. I probably have current value of home for what I bought it for. I probably have $200,000 in equity.
Jason
And that's what it's, that's exactly what it's for. It's credit card has no leverage, no collateral. So the, the fees are so high because you have a house behind it. You're pretty much. It's a, it's a line of credit and you could use it for these one time expenses that come up and then you can pay it back as your paychecks come in.
David Arduin
Okay.
Jason
And it'll be a lower rate. So it's, it's, it's, it's not a.
David Arduin
I'm gonna, I'm gonna, I'm gonna, I'm gonna take your brain. I'm gonna, I'm gonna call you.
Jason
It's actually a really good. Okay, call me on the side for this. It's also a really good. Like if you have, if you have credit card debt and you are looking to consolidate your debt, all you're trying to do is consolidating debt is find other debt that is cheaper than your credit card debt. So you could use a heloc, which will be cheaper than your credit card debt, pay off your credit card and then use that to like a restructure the cost. Look at that. Learning something. A lot going on there. What else? We. I mean, dude, there's a lot, there's a lot happening right now. We got, you know, a couple wars going on, you know, so that's happening, popping up. Wage growth is decreasing a little bit. AI is full force. Youth unemployment's a little high, but unemployment's going down. I mean, we, I talked a little bit about this on the CNN piece, but we are living in a very interesting financial conundrum right now where it's like markets are trading at all time highs, but consumer sentiment of their feelings about their spending and where they're feeling pain at the pumps and at the grocery stores and at rent and insurance costs is significant. It's a very interesting world we're living in that feels somewhat unpredictable. So that's a little bit about the markets, but there's also a lot happening in pop culture too. There's a lot going on in my life. Does LA in Your life where you want to take the next steps of 30 minute Thursday here, brother.
David Arduin
Oh, man. Well, I mean, quick, really quickly. Pop culture. Alex Earl, cover of Sports Illustrated. Just a massive. She just keeps. Her star just keeps rising. Not really touching on the Alex Cooper drama yet. And why would she let the haters hate. She keeps crushing it. We got Love island starting in June. Season eight, Love island usa. You gonna stop me here?
Jason
Yeah, I mean it was, it was. So you had Hillary Duff and Alex Earl, right? Were on the COVID Tiffany Hadish, Nicole,
David Arduin
Hillary Duff of Comeback. She's making. Oh.
Jason
Oh, yeah, she's in it right now. It was really interesting to see like they got Brittany Mahomes. Looks like Kristen. Kristen Goff. Oh, wow, that's cool. I feel like that's a digital cover. I feel like Catherine will love that. Who else is in there? Oh, Claire Kittle's in there. Yeah. A lot of football. Those are cover. Bethany Frankel's in there. Okay.
David Arduin
Bethany Frankel.
Jason
Hannah Burner.
David Arduin
Bethany Frankel.
Jason
Oh, Landry is in there. Remy Bader. Okay. A lot of guests are trading.
David Arduin
It's like a Trading secrets alumni.
Jason
Oh, ah, okay. Camille Kostic, of course. Brooks Nader's sister. I want to get her on. She's in finance. She's great.
David Arduin
So yeah, I mean Bethany Frankel just became Facebook official or Instagram official. Hard launch.
Jason
Hard launch. We love Anthony Frankel. Another, another. The Trading Secrets.
David Arduin
You said Alandria. He said Alandria. Love Island Season 8 starting USA in June. Sierra just got asked to be co host of After Sun. Sierra is going co. She's going over to Fiji to be the co host of After Sun. Going right from Fiji to Summer House to film season 11 and then going right from Summer House for Dancing with the Stars. That's called. What's it being booked or something like that.
Jason
That's booked and busy, baby.
David Arduin
Booked and busy, baby.
Jason
Sierra has a rocket on her back going all the way to the top. Breaking net. What did my buddy used to say in Rochester? Breaking necks and cash and checks.
David Arduin
Speaking of Rochester.
Jason
Wait, funny thing, real quick. Do you know, I don't think I ever told you this. I got asked to be a guest on After Dark.
David Arduin
Yes, you told me this. After Sun. After Sun. Yeah.
Jason
What is it, what's it called?
David Arduin
After Sun?
Jason
After Love Island Dark. After Sun Dark.
David Arduin
No, it's just called After Sun.
Jason
Oh, After Sun. Okay. So I almost flew to Fiji to do that and then it was like a week later they decided they're not gonna have any other reality Stars, many other shows. And it was like, two days later they announced Taylor. Frankie Paul is the bachelorette. So my manager was like, I think they, like, probably got. Wouldn't that, like, oh, we might have some competition here. So we're taking all bachelorette people off our list. Either way, Fiji for that. Now you got Sierra running the show. She is. I don't think she's coming down from this high. She is.
David Arduin
No, she's crushing it. She's kicking ass, taking names. She's throwing daggers out there on threads. It's kind of electric to just sit back.
Jason
She's a great dude. She's a great chirper.
David Arduin
Her. Oh, phenomenal, too. Phenomenal.
Jason
I mean, her chirps.
David Arduin
I'd be scared of her. I wouldn't want to be on her bad side.
Jason
Yeah. No, I wouldn't. She's just like. She's so smart, too, with her wit.
David Arduin
Yeah. Love it. You said Rochester. Next to Rochester's Buffalo Bills versus Lions, opening the new stadium September 17, Thursday night. It's a little hard to Household rivalry here. You and Catherine, you gonna be there?
Jason
Yeah. I mean, listen, we talk training secrets here, right? What do we do? We talk numbers. Let's look current right now. How much you think these tickets are going for?
David Arduin
Oh, I mean, we're talking, like, lower bowl.
Jason
We're talking lower bowl.
David Arduin
Over a thousand bucks.
Jason
Over a thousand bucks. I'm looking at lower bowl tickets right now. 2800-120090-01100. I mean, where are we at the Super Bowl? Are we in Buffalo? Buffalo, baby levels. A thousand dollars?
David Arduin
Rob Gronkowski just booked a suite at Sabres playoff game. Seven grand for a suite for his whole entire family. We're going 2400 for a bill's regular season game.
Jason
Is that what it was? Seven grand? You know, I saw a bunch of my buddies actually at the clip. I saw him shout out.
David Arduin
He paid for it. He paid for it. He goes, I didn't even get comped. He did an interview with Ryan Whitney. He's like, I didn't even comp it. I. I bought it. Classic Rob.
Jason
Classic Rob. I love it. That's awesome. A lot of action.
David Arduin
What about you? Anything this weekend before we wrapped? What were you up to this weekend? Anything worthy this weekend?
Jason
Went to the Eagles concert. Andrew east invited.
David Arduin
Was cool.
Jason
Good to get with some Nashville buddies. Eric Decker was there and a couple other few other guys.
David Arduin
I saw the Eagles Adam do.
Jason
Was there a singer in town? Actually, Adam dok. The song that Katherine and I used on one of our reels when we talked about just moving in. Todd Anderson, a big, big fitness and health guru in town. Bunch of really.
David Arduin
How'd you like the Eagles?
Jason
Unbelievable.
David Arduin
I saw him at the sphere.
Jason
Joe Walsh, 78 years old, just ripping. Just ripping up there is unbelievable.
David Arduin
I saw him. I saw him at the Sphere in Vegas.
Jason
The Sphere is incredible. Yeah, Gotta love the Sphere. Then a bunch of the boys went to a restaurant that I have ownership in in Nashville, which is kind of cool. Yesterday, John Gurney and the Sandstone Boys. So.
David Arduin
So you went to your. You went to your own restaurant?
Jason
Well, it's not mine, but.
David Arduin
Well, you own it?
Jason
I invested in it, I guess, yeah. It's called Lion's Share. It's in Nashville, Tennessee. It's inspired by one of these private drinking clubs of London. It's got like this classic lodge feel. Chef Robbie Wilson, is he this guy's decorated man. James Beard foundation award semifinalists for Best Chef. He's worked at Michelin level stars. He's worked at Thomas Keller. He's worked with Chef Nobu. This guy is awesome. Moved his family from San Fran to here for it. The COO of Hard Rock is behind it. There's a great group of people behind. If you guys come to Nashville, check out Lion's Share.
David Arduin
Where is it?
Jason
Gurney, who's a producer on the show, he's listening right now. He was with us. The food's so good. It's in Sylv park, which is a nice area that is really. I feel like it's starting to really blow up. So if you come to Nashville, check out Lion's Share. We got doing a event this. Hosting an event actually at one hotel with fresh beauty, skin care, actually ironically. So throwing a big party there. That'll be fun. In Nashville next week, we got. Catherine has a Wags and Walks event with Christian Chenowick and Sarah Evans performing. So excited for that.
David Arduin
That.
Jason
Dude, I'm just ready for the summer, man.
David Arduin
I know.
Jason
Ready to go.
David Arduin
Me too. Me too. Well, I'm kicking off in Miami. You've been there more than I have. Probably anywhere. I gotta go anywhere that we have to go and we have to do. We're staying in. We're staying in the south beach area. Not quite deep down in south beach, like 50 minutes north at the Palms Hotel and Spa.
Jason
Anything we gotta do, dude. They got the best Italian food and they got the best sushi.
David Arduin
We both reservations. We have our sushi. We're going to Mila.
Jason
And Mila is so good.
David Arduin
Yeah, we're going to Water.
Jason
Good water's. Good. Yeah. You're gonna.
David Arduin
Oh, you've been all the spots.
Jason
Well, you know, Miami, we've done some podcasts there.
David Arduin
I might. I might buy my first shirt from a store and like, since before I had kids.
Jason
So I mean. What do you mean?
David Arduin
I haven't bought a piece of clothing for myself. And since COVID probably I feel like
Jason
there's things in life that are like, so worth buying, but I feel like. I don't know. It's so. I don't know.
David Arduin
Yeah.
Jason
Do you, like, I go out. Let's suppose we go out to dinner. You and I have the best time ever. Okay.
David Arduin
Yeah.
Jason
It's 400 bucks for that dinner. Hey, drink steak. We're just like, we're having a great dinner. If I see a piece of furniture, like a chair, that's 400 bucks. I'm like, what?
David Arduin
No shot?
Jason
No. And dude, that's 400 bucks these days. Like, I'm on these sites all the time. That's like, nothing for a check. So I. I haven't really figured out from a spending perspective in my, like, why do some things make sense and some things don't? Yeah, like shirts, dude, that are like, you know, these shirts, 100 bucks, 200 bucks. 200 bucks. And it's like, you know, they're making 90% margin on that. But it's a shirt.
David Arduin
But it's a shirt that you could wear. It's. If your go to shirt, you're wearing it 50 times.
Jason
Yeah.
David Arduin
Yeah.
Jason
It's really interesting. And I'd be curious. The listeners here maybe give us five stars in the comments. What are things that like, okay, just imagine 200 bucks goes out the door. What's 200 bucks? That you're like, okay, that's cool. But if you take the same 200 bucks in. In another area, you're like, nah, I'm not for it. I feel like we all have those things.
David Arduin
Anything to do with health and nutrition. We think 200 bucks is the biggest thing in the world and we'll never do it.
Jason
Yeah, it's interesting. Fascinating.
David Arduin
Yeah, it's disgusting. Really.
Jason
Well, on that note, talking about homes and all the things that we love about them, we have Gailey Alex coming on on Monday to talk all about home. Renault, she has a show on HBO, HGTV. She literally goes into home 72 hours, says, tell me your budget. They get to say nothing. They don't get to have any input. They come back in three days and they get to see her work. And she's a fun show. So anything else before we wrap? 30 minute Thursday.
David Arduin
It was good. It's 1101pm My flight leaves in seven hours. I haven't packed a morsel yet. The kids are sleeping so I'm gonna go pack and try and fall asleep for three hours.
Jason
You go pack. I am complaining to the wrong guy but I got four nights in a row less than six hours of sleep here. I'm at the five hour mark, five hour mark, five hour mark. So I'm gonna try and throw in a 78 hour night shift here. David have a great time in Miami. Hope you guys enjoyed the Kyle Cook podcast. Stay tuned next week for Gayly, Alex and hey, we got a couple big announcements. Maybe I can't actually say. We got some big announcements coming next week. Big announcements on 30 Minute Thursday.
