Start.
Bobby
It's your ladies and gentlemen. All right, all right, all right.
Pooch
Welcome back, guys. Being dudes on a Friday, as always. Oh, yeah. I'm wearing my tinfoil cap because a lot's going on. A lot's been happening this week. Let's just say that. But the boy does not waver. We've got one more hate watch left. There's nothing else I can do. But the World cup is coming to an end this weekend. We've got a ton to talk about. But first, Bobby. Me and Bobby today, holding it down. And Poochie Bobby. How's your Friday going, my man?
Bobby
Dude, Friday's going good. Just getting started. Got the boys, got a loaded lineup. I was looking at the run of show last night, and I was like, this is going to be epic. And. And not because it's just me, David and Pooh. It ain't. It ain't. I shot it. Andre or Wingo. I know what you're thinking. It's not personal. It's personal. But I'm excited. The boys are vibing today.
Pooch
The boys are vibing today. The boys are vibing today. And listen, we got a lot going on. Like, this is.
David
We.
Pooch
We're gonna start it with the World cup. And why I've got the tin foil hat on. As. As we know, last week, obviously, I went in a couple rants. One of them has landed me on a. A watch list in Argentina. It's okay. Yeah. I'm racking them up at this point. Like Thanos. The Thanos Infinity Gauntlet.
David
Like, I've got a no fly list soon. Yeah. Half the countries in the. In the world, this guy would picture him be like generational hater.
Bobby
Yeah. So he could go to. He could go here or Canada. That's it.
Pooch
Yeah. No, I can't even go to Canada. Yeah, yeah.
David
Those countries.
Pooch
Yeah, yeah. I, you know, Europe. Europe, for the most part, unfazed for now. But, you know, you never know. It's still early in. In our history here. I. I might conquer the globe. All right, Because. Conquer the globe of hatred. Because there's a. There's too much going on. There's too much going on that we need to talk about because Argentina is in the freaking final again. Argentina, England, with an absolute bottle job. An insane, insane bottling of that game. I mean, not only to even. Just like they're up 10 with. In the 82nd, 83rd minute. They couldn't even get it to overtime. They blew it so badly. Argentina, crazy. Crazy ending. And of course, obviously, you know, Messi getting bailed out by, you know, Enzo Fernandez and you know, all these guys that, you know, have to do his bidding for him. But it really, truly an insane game. It really was. And listen, Argentina just does it again. They've looked honestly terrible for the first 80 minutes of the last three games. They just, they look like they don't deserve to be there and then all of a sudden the final 10 minutes, they pull through. It is a testament to them as a team. Obviously they, they want it. The reigning champs. They've been in these spots and they're, you know, they're used to it. But it, listen, I got to give minor props, everybody but him on that team because it is, it is, it is crazy that they're back here and they are going up against a Spanish team that was one of the favorites heading in. So we'll, we'll get on to that one. But Bobby, give me some thoughts on that Argentina England game. Is it more of a, an England bottling it situation or just Argentina really pulling through?
Bobby
Well, look, no doubt about it, they dropped the ball. But like Argentina and this is what's crazy, dude. It's like fade at this point. They keep doing this every round. They keep coming back and like pulling off the unbelievable epic comeback the last minute before the clock strikes midnight. Midnight. So I mean, dude, they're getting it done. I, I, I know the run of shows they put it at the Cardiac Cats. That's a perfect analogy for them boys. They just keep getting it done in the worst ways, but they're getting it done. And then also like Spain deserves some love. I think that, you know, most people thought that third place game, the France and England could have been the, the championship, you know, I mean, straight up. Yeah, so, so that's going to be an awesome game as well tomorrow. The third place game is basically another championship game, basically, but I'm looking forward to it, you know. And then you got the, the picture that come out of Messi giving a bath like, what the hell is this?
Pooch
That's, that's why the tinfoil hat's on. Because the, the, the fact that that picture exists, they've been hand selected to, to be in this exact spot. These are, this is FIFA planting the seeds early on of all right, we're going to have, you know, this game, it's going to end up with this prodigy. They, they knew, they knew that he's probably not even like Lamaze is, is probably been injected with super soldier serum as a child to be, to be guaranteed that he gets to this point playing up against mess. It's, it's all, it's all, it's all part of the plan here, folks. Like, it's all part of the plan. But yeah, it is actually insane that, that, that, that me, I pooch. I don't know if you've got the meme that, that Bobby made.
David
I can put. And I also have a great analogy for what I think Argentina's run. And I could put it like an NFL terms too. It's like prime Tom Brady with under two minutes left that you can be up by 14 and you're like, this guy could still pull it off. Like, I do not want the ball in this guy's hands. Like, if you like to put it in football terms, like Tom Brady with 30 seconds and down 3A can go get that field go. If he wanted to go get it. And I feel like Dave, I mean like, obviously generational hate watch. But that's to be aligned to the corruption. I mean like these, the goals that were scored, like the crosser to, to go ahead was an absolute dart. Like you have to say that. Yeah, it was an absolute bar that was like perfectly the guy's head. All you had to do was just jump and he was in the perfect, perfect line to score that last goal.
Pooch
Absolute bottling. I mean, I could have made that pass. It's nothing too impressive, to be honest. If you're impressed with that, you need to watch more ball, man. I'm telling you, that's like, that's run of the mill stuff. That's run of the mill stuff. No, it was. Listen, that cross in was nice. I, I love that people are, are, are saying that, that the first goal that Enzo Fernandez, the insane rip that he had had anything to do with the past that was just handed off to him right next to him. It's. It's getting absurd. But yes, the cross. I will admit the cross was nice. It was, it was nice. It was nice. You know, it's okay. It's okay to admit sometimes it's nice, but you know, it's, it's. It still doesn't take away the fact that it's all scripted. It is all scripted. No, honestly, that picture, that picture is generational.
Bobby
It's the war pain for me. It's the fact that you're the baby, but also the war pain.
Pooch
Yes, the Spanish war pain is incredible. It's incredible.
Bobby
Oh, man.
Pooch
But yeah, I can't believe it, dude. I can't believe they got away with another one. But listen, Like Bobby mentioned, they're going up a. Against a juggernaut in Spain, right? Spain. It's funny because they came out the gate, you know, they were, it was France and Spain were the two favorites heading in out the gate. Spain did not look that good. Like, they, they struggled a bit. They obviously they have the, the draw first game against Capaver, they, that put them on the map, but really since then it's been, it's. They've looked pretty dominant. Honestly. The only, the only team that really has given them a run has been Portugal. Subtle tag, but, but really, like if you look at their, their elimination rounds, I mean, they handled France from the start of the game. Like it was never really even competitive. Like, it was an impressive showing to, to that France team, in my opinion. I mean, now, in my opinion, if you're just watching all the games, they are like by far the most impressive team. They are stacked head to toe. They've got Mbappe, Olise, Dembele. Like, they've got these guys that you think, all right, who's going to stop them? And Spain handled them pretty easily. Like, you know what I mean, it was like, you know, they from. They had control the entire game and there was that. Not at one point that it seemed like that France was going to win it. So it's a testament to how good that team is. And you know, people, you know, are saying that they're, they're, they're pretty much locked to win. I mean, I, I would never say that because obviously you've got Argentina and Infantino, but you know, it, it on paper they are very impressive. So I think it's going to be a great, a great game, to be honest. I think, I think that's Sunday. And the storylines, I mean, again, it matches up perfectly. Lamine, Lamar, Jamal, Barcelona's newest star going against up the, the old guard and Messi and it's almost again the old goat. Yeah, it's, it's, it's almost too perfect that it's not scripted. That's why I have the tin foil on my head. But again, still looking super, looking forward to this game. I think it's going to be, I mean, this World cup as a whole has been incredible. So I believe that this last game, they're saving the best for last. There's going to be some fireworks, some plot twists we'll have to see.
Bobby
It's almost diabolical in your case because you got to root for the team that eliminated Ronaldo justice, keep Messi for winning the World Cup.
Pooch
Oh, for sure. And Bobby, watch this. I, I already. I need them to also win more than 1 0. So I have in my back pocket. But Portugal's better. You know what I mean? Like, these are, these are the angles that you got to the script, the notes that you got to take when, when you're on a generational hate watch. Like me, I'm pulling out all stops. I'm pulling out all.
Bobby
He's smiling. Yeah.
David
I do think 3 o' clock start time for that game is diabolical. Like, I feel like prime time games. I'm so used to like a 7 o' clock start, 8 o' clock start, like 3pm middle of the day on a Sunday. It's tough.
Pooch
Other countries are watching the other country. Exactly.
David
And I get it. I get why.
Pooch
Like, I mean, what. Last year, I think, or not last year, the last World Cup, I think the game was at like 11am for us. Like, it was. Yeah, the morning time. This is, yeah, this is, this is. Yeah, it's for everybody. It's good. So that Spain, I mean Spain, who's six hours ahead is going to have it at prime time. You know what I mean? So, yeah, just how it, how it goes. I, I agree though. I mean, it feels weird, obviously. As for us, like we're watching prime time for us is night games. So it's like, all right, but you know, we just have to, to deal with it. You know what I mean? Poochie. It's okay. It's okay. By 5 o', clock, think about it before dinner, Messi's gonna be on a flight home
Bobby
with a World cup trophy.
David
So you think, man, that he's Tom Brady. He's. That's. It's the Tom Brady effect over there in Argentina, man up in a single game at the 80th minute. Like, I feel like they've been down in almost every single game at the 80 or tied at the 80th minute and they freaking end up winning by two goals. Like, it's insane. It really is crazy.
Pooch
Listen, I mean, we, we, we. I guess we can talk about it too, because it happened after we recorded. But again, it's another robbery when they robbed the Switzerland guy. I mean, again, it's never, nothing's ever, ever, you know, straight arrow with them. But I digress. I digress.
Bobby
I will say it has been very entertaining to open my Instagram for the last week and see 27 new comments every time I refreshed it.
Pooch
Dude, it. That one, that one did crazy. I mean, Davey numbers. That's what I'm here for. I'm here. David. David. I try to bring out. I bring out the haters in droves.
David
You're just out here to.
Bobby
David does. Hey, say what you want about his tactics, the way he delivers, but he's a needle mover.
Pooch
I'm a needle mover. I am a needle mover. That, like. I mean, listen, I haven't gotten that much hate on a post since the Canada one. And that one. That one did. That one did numbers, too. I'm telling you. I'm telling you.
Bobby
Did y' all spot. Hey, pooch. Did y' all spot promote that one or that? That was organic.
David
Nah, that was organic, man. People, they come in droves, man. When you go after their kings and you go after their only sport, they don't mess around, bro.
Pooch
You know what? I will say, go, Bobby.
Bobby
But you just hit it perfect, because World Cup's on fire right now. There's literally nothing else going on. Ronaldo vs Messi is literally the biggest storyline. So, like, oh, it was.
Pooch
No, it was perfect. And the thing is, too, what I will say, what was different than the. The Canada one is that also, there was also the drove of the Ronaldo fans coming in for support. Where? The Canada one. I was. I was left on an island. No American came to defend. The.
David
The.
Pooch
The Canadian ran. I went on. But this one, the Ronaldo fans, it caught their algorithm, too. And they're like, oh, they're coming in. It was just like a battle in the comments.
Bobby
It was incredible, dude. That's what I told David. David texted me and said, dude, that clip is going crazy. And I don't really look at my personal Instagram a lot. So I clicked over, and I was like, dude, my notifications were insane. And I was like, holy crap. And at first, I was just like, dude, they're getting. They're cooking you. I just assumed that. And then I open the comments, and it's like, 50. 50. Like, it's like, some people, like, this is what I've been saying for years. I'm like, dude, there's more people like, David, this is crazy.
Pooch
I opened up Pandora's box, dude. I opened it up.
David
Authority, they call them.
Pooch
They. They had. They had. They had a comfortable place that.
Bobby
To.
Pooch
To. To vent. You know, I. I gave them asylum. I gave. I gave them a place to let loose.
Bobby
Yeah, it really surprised. I guess it shouldn't be surprising because obviously Ronaldo has his own cult following and Messi has a cult following. So, like, it's not that that crazy to believe that other people were going to come to bat for Ronaldo. But just based off the context of the clip, I thought. And because it's David, obviously, we just. I just thought he was getting cooked. I was like. And then I started looking at the comments and, yeah, there was a lot of cooking going on. But then I started scrolling. I was like, this really isn't that bad. I even told him, I said, this is a win. I don't care. In my eyes, this is a win for you.
Pooch
Win, win, win, win. All right, well, before we move on from the World Cup, I just want to kind of get from both of you guys, from Bobby and Pooch, what it's been like to have this World cup, this tournament on home turf, and what has it done for you guys in terms of, like, growing your luck. Like, are you. Is this something that's going to spark? Like, oh, maybe I want to watch more soccer down the line? Or is this just almost like a. A time capsule moment that you're like, all right, this is a cool event, but I don't know if it's done enough for me to become, like, you know, a full soccer guy.
Bobby
Go ahead, Pooch.
David
I think for me, I've always had an appreciation for soccer. Obviously not at the level of, like, you know, football, basketball, these other sports, but definitely, I mean, I think it's been awesome to see just like, the. How everyone's come together throughout this World cup, especially, like, everyone coming into America, coming to Miami, seeing it firsthand, the Norwegians, the Scots, you know, everyone just kind of seeing that whole experience has been awesome. I think the games haven't disappointed. I think the experience itself hasn't disappointed. As for my fandom for soccer, I mean, it's tough not to root together when, you know, your nation's, you know, out there competing and stuff. But I think it's always good just to see, you know, top level athletes and the best in the world go at it, you know, for their countries and, you know, seeing the storylines that come out of it. Obviously had the Capo Verde goalie, you know, you had the Norwegians making that run, so there's so many cool story lines and also all the drama, obviously, Argentina, all this, but I think overall just been super cool experience. But, you know, my overall fandom, you know, I don't think I'm gonna start watching, you know, the. The Premier League and the La Liga one and all that, but, you know, definitely still an appreciation for. For the sport. And I think a lot of people you know, definitely are more educated about soccer after this experience. At least they'll be more educated when watching the sport, which I think is huge, because, you know, to be a sports guy, you got to know the sport, but I think now this World cup has actually provided that platform to actually know soccer and understand it and now, you know, be a true, you know, student of what soccer is and how all these rules work.
Bobby
Yeah, I think. I think Pooch nailed it. I think it was incredible to see, especially in our homeland, to see it just firsthand in our streets and people, you know, loving America and seeing America for what it really is and not just what they've heard over the years. And then the worst part is Pooch kind of nailed this, too. It's unfortunate, but I don't think I'm going to continue watching soccer after this. But I wish they had more of this kind. Like, I wish this was a yearly thing, you know, I wish this was, like, more common because every time they like the Rider cup, and then when the nation's playing hockey, it brings everybody out like you. All of a sudden, everybody gives a damn about these sports. So I wish there was more ways to create this kind of hype more often for soccer. But it. It definitely was incredible. It was incredible to watch. It didn't really matter who was playing. Honestly, it was cool to root for America, obviously, but all the games were awesome. The fans are insane, so that it was always awesome to watch it. It didn't really matter who was playing. So it was an incredible, you know, process and journey to watch. So I would definitely do it again. I just don't think I'm going to watch, like, regular soccer still. I wish there was more ways to create this, you know, kind of environment and, you know, way. Way to kind of follow the game. Because the World cup has been insane.
Pooch
It has been, and it's been great. It's been great to see, like, you mentioned the. Some of these storylines. I mean, I think the world being introduced to Erling Holland has been incredible, or really the United States, because, like, if you follow soccer, you follow Premier League. Like, he's one of the best players in the world. But the fact that his personality got to really shine this World Cup, I think he's. He's created another legion of fan base now to. To ride with him moving forward. So I think that definitely the Norway stuff was really cool. Cap Verde, for sure. People's eyes being opening up to the messy corruption. I think it's all been great. I think it has really Been. I can see, Bobby. I have to. You don't have to get one last, one last jab in there. But no, it has been and I think this game on Sunday is going to be incredible. So tune in 3pm Spain. Argentina. Boys. I said no, I said last thing. Prediction, final prediction before we move on.
David
You got it, Bobby.
Bobby
Ah, I mean it's the old bull versus the young calf, right? I mean, sure. I don't know, man. I mean, you know, Spain's definitely rolling right now, but I just.
David
It.
Bobby
Argentina either runs out of luck and you know, the horseshoe gets left at home and then they, they lose or they just follow on through destiny, run and create, continue this Cinderella story. It's honestly a tough call, man. I think that Messi's going to make it hard. Obviously, no matter what. When you, when always go back to this. When it comes down to these championship games and with everything on the line, who has the guy that's been through it, who's going to be cool, calm and collected and deliver still. And unfortunately, David, I feel like Messi's still that guy. And we just seen it. We just seen it on that pass at the end with everything on the line to still deliver like that. I just feel like Jamal is awesome and that team is loaded and they're going to be young and fast and they could get up early and that could be the difference. But they got to keep their foot on the gas because we've seen Argentina come back over and over. But I think if it comes down to it and Messi has a chance, he will be able to take over and go and win the game for Argentina.
Pooch
He's gonna have no chance. Three one, Spain. My prediction,
David
give me the Spaniards and pks. Give me spade.
Pooch
No, see, that's my problem. If it goes to pks, then it's over. It's Argentina. I'll tell you that right now. If this, if this game gets the PKs, it's over. Like just wrap it up. I want. You don't even need to watch the ending. You know how it's.
Bobby
That's playing into Argentina's hand first.
Pooch
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. No, no, no. It's over.
David
I just think like that would be incredible. Allow a lot of goals. Argentina doesn't really allow a lot of goals. I can see him duking it out and they can going maybe to second extra time, but I have a feeling it's going to go back to pks. That'll be like the, the most dramatic finish you can have for the World cup, for the ratings and everything. So I, I'm feeling PKs, man. Especially when these good teams plays. I feel like PKS is always, is always super, super likely.
Bobby
That would be an electric way for this to end.
Pooch
It would be my nightmare. It'd actually be my living absolute nightmare. Because that's how they won the last one they wanted in P case against France. I, I, it'd be absolute nightmare scenario. I need it again. I needed to be more than 1 0. All right, so that's all, that's all, that's all I've got left. I've got left now. I will take the tin foil hat on. Honestly, I could have kept it on for this next segment because what the hell was that Conor McGregor fight? Because it talk about potentially rigged. Because I don't know, I don't know if you guys have heard this, the stuff like before I, supposedly there's rumors that he was injured before the fight and they, they said no show goes on. Like you're gonna go out there, which if that's the case, that's very fishy territory. But let's just go with the idea that it, it wasn't that what a way to go out for Conor McGregor. I mean, that was as, as, as sad and disappointing of a fight as you can get. Two seconds into this thing, that's got tear his acl. I mean, that is, that's as bad as it gets.
Bobby
I can't think of a worse cliffhanger draw ball dropping diabolical D disappointment ever. I mean, first of all, the way he goes out last time he breaks his leg against Dustin Porier in a big, highly anticipated grudge match. Like, that was incredible. That Dustin Poyer versus Conor McGregor was incredible stuff. Your wife is in my DMs. Holy, baby. Like, dude, incredible stuff. He breaks his leg. He's on the floor doing a postmatch fight, still talking with a broken leg. But you break your leg, it takes five years. You know, you, you bulk up, you do a movie, you lose back your way, you come back, you don't come back. And then you finally come back. And to come back and then tear your ACL on the very first jump is absolute diabolical. And it's, it's honestly, say how you will, it's heartbreaking. It's just like as a fan, as a competitor, everybody was looking forward to seeing the fight and seeing him back. You know, say what you will about the person, he's a showman and he puts on a show and he Makes people watch that sport. And to see it in that way without really any, without even getting started, was, was very disappointing.
Pooch
Yeah, yeah. No, no, no, go.
David
So the way that panned out for me, I was very excited for that Saturday because I was at club live for the England Norway game. Electric game, right? We go through the night, Argentina, Switzerland, right? That exciting stuff. And it was gonna end well. Switzerland and Columbia still playing. When that Conor McGregor fight, I just watched Patty Pimblett, you know, submit this guy in under a minute. Electric.
Bobby
I was like, electric, baby.
David
Electric, electric. And then here comes Connor, you know, Max Holloway. I, I, I was rooting for Max just because I thought, you know, Connor, you know, being out for the game for so long, Max is on the streak. He's, you know, kicking people's ass. He took one loss to Ilya, but Ilia, one of the best fighters in the game. And in my mind I'm like, here comes this 37 year old man, hasn't fought in five years and for him to do his yo, yo, backspin 360 spinning kick to then land on his knee, tweak his knee, reattempt to do the same kick, retweet the same knee, and then can't stand. It's like, it sucks. It sucks. It reminds me, I don't know if you guys ever watched to watch this fight, Masvidal versus Nate Diaz for the first BMF title. That Nate Diaz, I mean, that guy can take a punch, but he cracked him under the eyelid and the doctor had to stop the fight. But everyone was like, damn, I wanted that fight to keep on going. It was so disappointing to see. And then the backlash from everyone on Vegas is like, you can't, you can't count that as a loss. He can't count this as that. And then Conor, he just walked off. He didn't even do an interview. He just left. Everyone in the out of the arena. Everyone in that place was pissed off. He was pissed, Joe Rogan was pissed, Daniel Cormier was pissed. Literally everyone in that place was pissed off. So it was sad, man. It was sad to see him go down like that. Obviously, you know, a guy that really revolutionized the sport, really put the sport on in the modern era, really just, you know, really made that sport popular. To see him go down like that. I mean, there's no way he comes back and tries to fight again. I think this is the last time we're ever gonna see Conor in a ring. And it sucks the way it ended.
Bobby
He might not Believe it yet.
David
But it.
Bobby
After seeing breaking your leg and then coming back five years later and tearing your ACL 15 seconds in, it's more than just coincidence at that point. The. The body has failed him without going too far into it or trying to dogpile. It's just like, yeah, yeah. I think when it's time to get back in that training mode or to get back into it, he'll realize pretty quickly that, like, yeah, the body isn't bouncing back. Like, it's a lot, man.
David
The only guy that really did it successfully was Jon Jones, that came back after a long stint and won both his fights. I mean, like, obviously that's the greatest fighter ever exists, and he pulled it off, but, I mean, it was just too aggressive of a move to start off with, man. I just didn't agree with trying to do.
Bobby
But it's Conor McGregor fashion, right? Like, it's. It's such a honor to come out and try to do something like that.
David
Like, yeah, man, but I mean, for him to come back, what, in like, two years, almost have 40 years old, so then, you know, try to fight one of these up and coming guys, and these guys, I mean, these fighters only getting better. So, I mean, we'll see, man. We'll see. But I think that's the last time we see Connor.
Pooch
It's got. It's got to be over. I'm. I'm with. Everything you guys have said is correct. It's just like, listen, at the end of day, Father Time comes for everybody, and it's just like, especially in a sport like UFC where you're fighting people like, dude, there's always going to be somebody who's in either better shape, younger, strong. Like, he's not getting any stronger and he's not getting any faster. Like, it's, you know, it's obviously a shame of how this one went, and I would have been. I was actually super excited to actually watch this fight because it's like, all right, the return of the Mac and. And then it just kind of reassured, like, yeah, man, like, sometimes you just got to hang it up. And for him, it. There's. I think there's just no way that he can come back from this. Like, there's no. There's no way. I. I just. I. I refuse to believe it. But, you know, I guess we've seen. I don't know. I guess I don't know if we've seen crazier things, but I. I wouldn't put it past it. If he's going to Try again. Yeah, for sure.
Bobby
I think he'll try.
Pooch
Yeah. I just don't know if that's the right move.
David
He got 30 mil for 5 seconds of fight time.
Bobby
So that's why I said knowing the person, knowing the person in the competitor, I think he will give it one more run. And then also as pooch, I hate to put it there, but with the money that's on the line with him, every time he tries to step in the ring, it's, it's going to be worth it to him. I mean it is worth it. So. Yeah, hey, might as well pony up one more again. If you can get 30 million for 15 seconds, hell, I'm signing up. Yeah.
David
I mean even when, when Connor tried to box Floyd Mayweather, that was one of the highest ever pay per views. Highest grossing freaking pay per views of all time.
Pooch
Oh.
David
I mean the guy sucks.
Pooch
I can see him getting into like the Jake Paul world and like, like if he's gonna fight Jake Paul eventually, right?
Bobby
I just seen some of those press conferences. It was like a tick tock or something when Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather was going to box. Dude, some of those press conferences were freaking amazing.
Pooch
He, that's actually a good, and I know it's not our debate of the week, but it's a good debate to have. Is he the greatest trash talker of all time across sports? Like he might be that. He might be him. Like he might be the greatest trash talker in the history of, of the sport. He brought so many eyes. Like, dude, yeah, like if Conor's fighting, you're also waiting for the clips. You're watching the press conference. The way in, the way ins. Exactly. He was the best to do it. He's a showman. He. Dude, he was. And I, I hate that the end of his career is kind of obviously what we're remembering now because of like, you know, everything's happening, whatever, and it's live, it's current, dude. Him and his prime was like as much of a showman, dude, he backed it up. Like he was like, dude, he was incredible. He was incredible. So did it all.
David
Yeah.
Pooch
Double champ. I do.
Bobby
What the I want I love is this guy. Yeah, dude, I use that like once a month this day.
Pooch
Yeah, yeah. 100. 100, bro.
David
He was such a good fighter. Even in that fight against Floyd, he held his own for like a good part of that fight. Like he really did pretty well, man. He was such a good fighter.
Pooch
He was, he was. But man, what a disappointing. What a, what a way to go out. That's tough. That is tough. Good event, though. Like you guys mentioned, Patty was awesome. Patty. Patty is. I don't know if you guys saw what he said after it. He's like, now I can take the mantle of like, like, fighter or, like, I'll be the face of UFC now. Like, he's literally watching Connor's fight live, and he's, like, saying it. Well, he.
Bobby
He is the second coming. I think that that's a good. Actually, a good, great segue. That's passing of a torch. I mean, Patty the Baddy has been putting on just like Conor. He's electric. He gives you a reason to watch everything that guy does. You want to see it. Hell, he even. You want to see him after his fights because he goes and gains 40 pounds, like, immediately and eats like a pig and somehow gets back into a peak shape like this. And he comes out and the song and the dance and crazy walkout.
David
Dude.
Bobby
Dude. It's incredible. Patty the Batty is awesome. Absolute electric. And like you said, he's also delivering. He's lost one fight his whole career, and it was one hell of a fight. It was not a fluke. So Patty the Baddy is definitely, I mean, great for the sport.
Pooch
100%. A hundred percent. All right. With that, we're moving. Ready for this segue, boys? This is. We're talking faces of leagues, faces of sports. We've got one of the biggest faces of a sport that still has not made a decision. That is LeBron James. Where the hell is LeBron James going and why is he taking so damn long? He is so dramatic. He is so dramatic. And listen, I, I, I chooses the Heat. You know, I'm gonna. I'm back, and I'm gonna be the biggest LeBron guy you've ever seen. But, like, come on, let's hurry it up. You already went through everything with a decision. Like, just make your mind up. Like, you know where he knows where he's going, right? Like. Like, there's no way in my mind that he's, like, still deciding. Like, I think in the back, like, in the back of his head, he knows where he wants to be. And I don't know. Obviously, I'm not, I'm not alluding to, like, I know, like, he's coming to Miami for sure. Like, he has to know at this point, just come on and say you're holding, Essentially, you're holding the Heat hostage. Like, we're trying to make free agent moves, and we're. We're basing it off all. All around. If we get LeBron. So he. And he's not just the Heat. Any other team that is, like, you know, by the Cavs and. And probably maybe the warriors, like, you know, they're probably holding off to see what he does because. Because, yeah, he. It's. Lou. It's a decision looming large to land what looks like the final year of LeBron. I don't know where he's going, boys. Do you guys have any. Any additional. Where the hell is Wingo? Where the hell is Wingo?
David
Sold on him coming to the Heat. When Dingo is sold on him being a Miami Heat, he's wearing a Miami jersey next season.
Bobby
We bring it up every Friday. We got to bring it up again. Wingo. I will say this, though. Wingo has been adamant about everybody he's talked to in his circles that it's been a done deal. LeBron's coming back to Miami. But I will say, the other day, he was like, I ain't gonna lie. I. I keep hearing LeBron to Miami, but I'm starting to get nervous. Like, what the. If it's that obvious, if it's that done deal, what the hell? Why is it not a done deal? And I do agree, when there's time, there's concern.
Pooch
Yeah.
Bobby
And like, David's saying, you got. He's golfing with Draymond Green. Draymond opted out. He still opted out. People forget about that. Draymond still opted out, waiting to see if LeBron's gonna sign in Golden State and then they can resign, you know, Draymond, and go over that tax bracket. But I do agree. I. I think that LeBron's smart. LeBron's the ultimate businessman more than anything, and he probably was thinking about this before the season ended. He knows everything possible to know. I also think it's just a weird process. Like, you can't talk to LeBron, and there's teams, like, sending, like, voice memos that could potentially get al forwarded to LeBron. It's like, could you imagine? You're trying to land the greatest basketball player of all time, and he's your missing piece for a championship run? And you're sitting there in your office, like, looking at the audio recording screen, like, yeah, so LeBron, I just really think, like, this is going to be a great opportunity for you. Like, we got golf courses, we got the private jet ready for you and your family to travel as much as you need. Could you just imagine having to record a voice memo in your office with six trophies behind you, talking to a voice memo. Like, that's insane to me. While the agent goes on a world tour of podcasting. Like, it's such a weird thing. It's. It's 20, 26. I get it. But it's just such a weird thing.
Pooch
New world. It's crazy. I agree with you. I agree with you. Yeah, it's. It's. It's a very, very weird situation. It really is. Like. Like, it's, again, like, people. People dogged the. The decision, whatever. But, like, now, realistically, if it was today's day and age, it's basically, we're looking at it. It's podcasts, agents, his agents mapping out on. On with. What was it with Steve Nash, right, Or something?
Bobby
Yeah, Whiteboard.
Pooch
Yeah, yeah, it was Steve Nash. It was the other guy, the guy who used to do boxing. Kellerman. Max. Keller.
Bobby
Max.
Pooch
But, yeah, it's. It's very strange. I just needed to happen already. Like, like, just. Just let us know. Let us know the keys under the map for you in Miami. You already know that, Braun. So let's see. Let's see. I mean, Braun, Giannis, Bam. Oh, did we. Yeah. I don't know. Did we touch on or did this happen before or after our last episode of Bam Punching Tyler Hero? Was that on last week? I. I honestly forgot.
David
No, it happened over.
Bobby
We didn't talk about the weekend.
Pooch
Right.
David
It happened over the weekend.
Pooch
All right, Because. Because that's. That's. We're going to send Bam after you, Braun, if you don't make your damn decision soon. All right?
David
It's just.
Bobby
That's another crazy 20, 26 thing. Is like, yes.
David
I don't.
Bobby
Someone getting their DMs leaked and starting to fight in real life.
Pooch
The thing is crazy.
David
What is Tyler Hero's impression when he sees Bam, six, nine, fucking 260 pounds.
Pooch
Kill him. Bam would kill him. Like, what ud. Well, the other thing, too, is the ud Draymond Green thing, right? So ud comes out. Ricky.
Bobby
Yeah. That's interesting.
Pooch
Going after Draymond, which is funny because, like, UD is very close to LeBron, too. And. And so he's. What he says she was like, if Bam wanted to bury Hero, he would have.
Bobby
Like, he would have killed him.
Pooch
He would have killed him. Bam is. Is a big dude. Dude, he's six, nine, all muscle. Tyler Hero, Dude. I mean, I know you're. You're big for a white guy, but, man, you. You would have gotten rocked. And he's.
Bobby
Let's be honest, Tyler Hero was never planning on having to meet Bam about anything he was saying to a kid in the DMs, like, that wasn't the plan. So, like, it just got to that point. And then at that point, I'm sure emotions were high.
Pooch
Well, no, dude, the thing is, Bobby too, like, Tyler hero has a burner account. Like a. A fake Instagram. It's called Wonderkid. That he was posting on his story. Like, stats of like, worse, worse mid range shooters and it's damage Giannis.
Bobby
Like, yeah, yes, I remember that too. Yeah, yeah.
Pooch
Like, he's just like, he was just posting and Bam's like, all right, I've. I've had enough. Like, that's a crazy. That was a crazy story. But anyway, LeBron, do you want somebody to have your back? Like a Bam out of Bio. Come back. It's a keys under the mat. Wingos. We are staying at Wingo's place. You don't even have to buy a spot. And he's never homes. Yeah, exactly. You never. He's never home. So you just. You just stay at his crib.
David
He's delivering pizza.
Bobby
Yeah, his. All the groceries are already there. Dino nuggets and ketchup for all you want.
Pooch
Jugs of peanut butter.
David
Yeah, just all. Yeah, just stacks of peanut butter.
Bobby
It also makes you wonder too though, if. If the team doesn't already know.
Pooch
Right?
Bobby
So, like, maybe, you know, like Pat R. Was saying some cocky yesterday about there's another plane to land and, you know, the teams are acting like they have no clue. Well, hell, even the damn Warriors. What is that? Their GM or coach was like, we got him. We already got him. When the kid asked them, remember? Y' all see that video?
Pooch
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Bobby
They were like, we need to get LeBron. He was like, we already got him. Put that on Twitter. It's like, dude, it's like, you 2026 is so unserious, bro. It's like you have no clue.
David
I mean, but yeah, go ahead, Go ahead, Bobby. My bad.
Bobby
I was just saying. Yeah, the answer needs to come. Is it? What are we doing here? We're like. We're like three weeks into free agency now. It's like, there's no other dude. There's no more. I guess he wants to have last just having the world looking at him moment. But like, Jesus Christ, dude.
David
Yeah, I mean, he's probably doing another episode. Didn't know he was coming until the day of the decision. Like, he watched it live and that's when he found out he was coming. So, like, knowing LeBron and the theatrics. Like, I would be surprised if he really is keeping this under wraps and just gonna be a surprise to everyone when he makes his decision.
Pooch
I heard that he's gonna. He's gonna break the news on guys being dudes next week. So everyone tune in. Share share with everybody. LeBron will be making. We are having LeBron James on next Friday and he's going to announce it. Andre is. Is with him right now at Fan Fest. They're chopping it up over some wine and he's going to break the news on guys being dudes. So you guys heard that here first. Make sure to tell everybody if you like and comment enough. LeBron might even do it in the first. In the first 10 minutes. So let. Just, just letting the world know that
Bobby
I did think it was funny as yesterday at Fanatics Fest, Halliburton said, I texted him like, yo, let's run it in Indy. And he just sent me laughing emojis. He was like, yeah, I'm never texting this dude again.
Pooch
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, dude. He. Yeah, he's not, you know, what's the other one too? Like, I just don't see him as good as the team is. I just don't see him in Philly. Right? Like, like, I so support.
Bobby
Remember, considering Philly.
Pooch
I'm not even considering. I'm not considering Philly.
Bobby
I really. Heat Warriors. That's it.
Pooch
Yeah, that's it. That's it. I agree. Halliburton trying to get him to India Indy is hilarious. That is hilarious.
Bobby
I mean, two years ago, maybe two years ago, Hallie had the world buzzing. They were balling, they were deep, making a deep run.
Pooch
Listen, that team is. The team is good. Like, don't be wrong. Like, that team's good. Like, I just don't see, like, again, I don't see LeBron going to a random team like the Pacers. I also don't see him really going to Philly. Like, I think he's going to want to end it either in Cleveland or Miami or with Steph Curry in Golden State because obviously they have their relationship and yada yada. But I don't know. I just. I really do think it's. It's. There's just no. And what can you imagine? Breaking news. LeBron James is a Memphis Grizzly.
Bobby
Told everyone it was about fun.
Pooch
Yeah, yeah, yeah, dude. Crazy for the Wizards.
Bobby
The Wizards is the other one. That would be the craziest. Not going to happen. Unrealistic, but possible because AD Trey Young they do have some players over there.
David
They be contenders. Got a nice little roster going.
Bobby
And he had the number one pick.
Pooch
Yeah. And a final. And a final. Like, hey, you know, MJ went to the, the Wizards and didn't win anything. And he goes to try to win the Wizards a ring.
Bobby
MJ could never.
Pooch
Yeah. Can you imagine? That would be crazy.
Bobby
I'll say this, they keep, they keep pounding the. LeBron's decision will be based off happiness. He wants to have fun one more time and it's all about having fun. I think if it was the Cavs, it'd be the legacy play.
Pooch
Yeah.
Bobby
And if it's, if it's about having fun, it's south beach or the idea of playing with Steph, who he has said many a times is the player that he would want to play with the most in the modern day game. So I think south beach with Giannis and bam makes a lot of sense. And then Seth Draymond's obviously glazed LeBron for years. Their boys, you know, having that run one time in Golden State and then being the closest to his, where he wants to be calling home la. I think Golden State, Golden State or Miami probably made the most sense to me.
Pooch
Yeah, I agree, I agree. Well, like I mentioned, LeBron's making that announcement next Friday here on the show. But with that, let's, let's do our debate of the week. And I wanted to, to, because I saw Pooch. I'm going to run this to you. Our debate of the week today is what is harder hitting a home run or scoring a free kick? Is this for a professional or is this for us? Like, is it, is it me or Bobby attempting. Okay, I'm gonna say a free kick. I mean, hitting an actual home run, hitting a home run for a professional baseball player is easier than hitting a free kick.
David
Obviously, it's us soccer player like the average human.
Pooch
For us, then it's absolutely a free kick. I don't, I mean, I don't think I can hit a home run off of.
Bobby
I mean, what's harder than you're saying the home run. It's harder.
Pooch
Yeah, I think, I think the home run is harder for a normal person because you can kind of get luckier with a free kick. It's not as the distance is as far like hitting a home run in an MLB ballpark is. You know, if you've never played baseball or even if you play baseball, you just don't like that's, that's hard to do. I think hitting a home run would be hard for a normal person.
David
But I'm not even talking about kick like just you and the goal, nobody else. I'm talking about like people in front of you.
Pooch
Like, yeah, you can get luckier with a free kick than a home run because you're the distance. Right? You're just like kicking into a goal like outside the box, under.
David
Because the penalty. We're not talking about putting a free kick is usually outside the box.
Pooch
No, I know, but it's like, but it's, but it's usually right outside. I'm thinking, I mean unless you're putting the free kick by the midfield. But a regular like scorable free kick outside the box I think is more realistic than somebody just walking into a MLB stadium and hitting a home run. I, I, I, I think the home
Bobby
run's harder professional or random person. But here's my, here's my biggest thing. The soccer ball is sitting still. We're forgetting the fact that you got to be able to hit 100 mile per hour fastball. First of all. Yeah, like I, I think the home run's way harder.
Pooch
Yeah, I'm with you. I, I, because you again, you can get lucky with a free kick. You're, it's still, it's like you mentioned, it's a still, it's not moving. You just kick it. Granted it is very hard, it is very hard to do. But I think you have a way better, you know. Yeah, exactly like Bobby. That's actually the biggest thing.
Bobby
You know how hard it is to
Pooch
just hit a pitch like a single. Like it would be like skiing's pitching. Like I played baseball for eight years
David
that never whatever, just like a BP pitch just like over the arm. Just like, like home run derby pitching. You don't think you can get a hold of one.
Pooch
I honestly think that's, that's almost even hard.
Bobby
I think I can definitely jack one, but I mean I know I could jack one.
Pooch
It's even harder though because like it's easier to hit. Like you make contact on a hundred mile per hour ball. It's gonna go further than hitting contact on a 40 mile per hour ball. You know what I mean? Like naturally, yes, you can swing speed and whatever, you can hit it. But like, I don't know. I, I think the, the home run is going to be much harder.
Bobby
If pooch is putting me in home run. If he's talking to home run home run derby style though, I mean I might lean for the, the, the free kick being easier if it's home Run derby style. Because, I mean, I'm just saying, the first meatball they throw me in the Home Run Derby, I probably. I could take it out of the park. I don't think I'm hitting the first free kick. I definitely don't. If that's the case, maybe I go with the home run being easier if it's Home Run Derby style.
David
And we'll do the Yankee Stadium, the shortest outfield. It's only. We're just changing the rules now.
Pooch
We'll do it at Marlins Park. We'll do it at Marlins Park.
David
And no one.
Pooch
Exactly. Doesn't matter the field, the amount of,
David
the amount of finesse you have to have on a free kick. Whereas if you swing, you know you can get a hold of one. You can. You get a good look at it. You take a. You take a hack. I won. You can. You can send that thing for a ride.
Bobby
Yeah.
David
There's so much finesse. But. But what?
Pooch
But then why so. But the thing is, you have to do it evenly, though, because if we're doing Home run Derby style for Home run, you're just not going to have a wall in front of you in soccer because it's what you're either doing a full game scenario where it is a real free kick, everyone's in front of you, yada yada, or a real pitch. Like, it's.
David
I don't think it's fair because hitting a baseball is one of the hardest feats in sports. So it would be like too, too much of a disparity to try to hit, you know, Paul Skeens 101 or this new kid, the Miz from Milwaukee, 106 mph fastball than a still object and try to kick it through traffic.
Pooch
You also have defense. You know what I mean? Like, it's also, it's not. You're not kicking into an empty net. You know, you, you solve a goalie, a world class goalie. Or we can put you in there and we'll kick into it.
David
I do it.
Bobby
We just got a content idea.
David
Yep.
Pooch
I'm gonna, I'm gonna score so much on pooch first.
Bobby
Bend it like ACL gone.
Pooch
Yeah.
Bobby
Your wife is in me dance.
David
Call Ronaldo. It's all good. Oh,
Pooch
that one free kick specialist in the world I'm going to send you now. Open up Pandora's box Pooch. I'm going to be feeding you so many freaking Ronaldo free kick videos and compilations, your phone's going to explode.
Bobby
Just don't mess with his laptop.
David
We need the clips. Oh, man.
Pooch
Oh, man. Well, speaking of home runs, pooch, you're doing the dude of the week. There you go. I'm tossing it up to you, Mr. Home Run.
David
All righty. So our cool cat, Cosmo Tires dude of the week is the home run Derby champion, Jordan Walker. And I'm gonna toss from the intro to the man that is a Cardinals fan. Bobby, take it away. Give us a storyline of how iconic this win was for our boy Jordan over there at the derby.
Bobby
First of all, dude, the Cardinals are back, baby. The Cardinals are in right now, man. We got Weatherholt just signed our soon to be rookie of the year to an eight year extension for 112 million. We got the Home Run Derby winner, Tom Cool collected goes into Philly with two different Philly players. One being in the finals with him back against the wall on the last pitch. Hit four straight with the maroon ball. There was only like two home runs total the whole night with the maroon ball, he goes four straight through. 24 years old, never broke a sweat. Calm, cool, collected, just chewing bubble gum, sending balls to the moon. Dude. Jordan Walker, absolute animal, incredible legacy performance. And his mom and dad, dude, the mom and dad cam was the best part. They're two Cardinal, just proud parents surrounded by Philly fans going crazy. Dude, that was absolute electric. And it couldn't have happened to a worse set of fans. Philly fans booing them the whole time, booing kids, missing balls, dude. Kids were missing catches in the outfield. The crowd was booing them like, dude, couldn't happen to a worse set of fans. Love it, dude. Jordan Walker walked into the depths of hell and came out with a gold trophy. Incredible work.
David
I think the coolest detail about that whole thing was the actual winnings from the derby was more than his MLB salary. So not only did he win, he got a nice little payday for himself, man. Nice little check to support, to support his life, his fam, whatever. He's got, whatever he's doing with his money, man. But I think that was super cool. Especially those underdogs, those like under the radar guys like the macbooklungs, the G league guys that come out when the dunk. The dunk contest for him, you know, being on a smaller contract and then coming out winning the derby, winning the million dollars didn't I was super sick.
Bobby
Yeah. And the other, the other caveat is, you're right. I think he makes like 780, 700, 80,000, 700 and some thousand a year. And the winnings was A million. But the other caveat now is there were already a lot of pressure to do it. The Cardinals have to give this dude an extension now. You got one of the young, best young bats in the league already. He's headed for 40 home runs this year. He wins the Home Run Derby. He might get an even bigger pay a day out of all this. And the Cardinals really be forced to get it done now. You can't let Jordan Walker walk.
David
No, he's breaking out. He's having a hell of a breakout year. It's like in the World cup. All these guys that came out of nowhere in the World cup about to get huge paydays because their performances like the goalie from Cabo Verde Inter Miami might give him a bag to come be the goalie for a year in inner Miami. All these now again might get up a contract of the Premier League. So it's cool.
Bobby
But that being said, I do want to take this time to dunk a little bit for the Cardinals. The Cardinals are coming back, baby. The farm system's farming.
Pooch
I mean effect.
Bobby
You got the eight year extension for the rookie of the year coming. You got a 24 year old winning the Home Run Derby. They just smoked the draft, dominated. Had the best rating by far in points per pick, in value. I mean, dude, the Cardinals are coming, baby. We're coming.
Pooch
I love it.
Bobby
They did it the right way too.
David
They're looking real good.
Pooch
Not, not the freaking what the, the, the. The buying out way not to bring
Bobby
in LeBron down to team up with Wade and Bosch and try to win a championship way.
Pooch
Oh, here we go.
David
Hey, I gotta go there.
Bobby
Bobby built, not ball, baby
David
too man.
Bobby
Yeah, y', all, dude, it's gonna be a good battle.
David
And the Marlins for that last wild card.
Bobby
Marlins are hot.
David
It's gonna be, it's gonna be a battle. Let's see how they come out of the All Star break. That's gonna be fun to see. See who cooled off or see if you, you know, see who can keep. Keep the, the energy up going into the second half of the year.
Bobby
It's actually kind of exciting. Both of our teams are kind of like not talked about at all headed into the year. Supposed to be bottom five teams, you know, they're just young and don't really have much going. Then the Cardinals have just been like steady and consistent all year, surprising people. And now the Marlins have like for six weeks now have just been like spanking ass. It's honestly quite crazy.
David
No, no, it's super cool and Man, I mean, I'll. I'll go to bat for this. I think playoff baseball is very exciting. I think playoff baseball might be up there in terms of, like, playoff atmospheres. Like, obviously, I know you're not a fan of them, Bobby, but, like, you know, Red October in Philadelphia, that gets rowdy. It gets rowdy out there.
Bobby
I'll be honest. My. My biggest gripe with MLB lately is the Cardinals haven't been good, you know. You know, I do agree, thinking back to the 2000s, when pool holes was just cranking them in October. Like, dude, baseball, car, MLB playoffs are awesome. It's just when your team's not there, it's just, you know, I'm a little bitter. But the Cardinals are trying to get back around. I don't think we're going to make too much noise this year, but it is good to see us training back in the right direction. I do agree playoff baseball is watchable. It's highly exciting.
Pooch
Love it, love it, love it, love it. Well, boys, welcome to the Thunderdome. I love it. Boys, that is a. Essentially a wrap. I've got one last thing, because we didn't touch on that, and I have it on in the background. The Open Championship, the final major of the year in golf, is underway. Guys going pretty low today. Just curious, you know, see who pulls it off. It is the final major. So this is the only thing is, obviously it starts at basically 2 in the morning because it is in England. So we were talking about earlier the start times for. For the World cup, like, like for Sunday. Well, you know, if you're a golf fan, you're dealing with it on another. On another world. So with that, what a show today, boys. Pooch. Bobby. Let's have a weekend. Let's have a day. Viva Espana. Let's take down corruption. Infantino. We're coming, Sam.
