All right, all right, all right. Happy Friday, ladies and gentlemen. Welcome back to another episode of Guys Being Dudes. Me and Bobby Rob repping the outcast gear. Today we got Wingo in the classic dive bar hat, you know, one of one. And a little stand og a little standing cup action, you know, reminiscing the good times down here in South Florida when the Panthers were, were, were rolling the last couple years. Hockey is really not the same without the Panthers in it. I'm just going to say that here right now.
C
Just, just want to say I haven't watched a single game since the Panthers aren't playing.
D
I seen a tweet. I seen a tweet the other night. Someone's like, oh, oh my God. And that's why we love playoff hockey. And I was like, I didn't even know it was happening, I swear. I was like, I like, we're watching like Wimy go at it with the thunder and somebody was like, are you kidding me? And I'm like, what's Wimby doing over there? And they're like, this is why we love playoff hockey. And I was like, huh?
B
I, I mean, I will say this. Like, the Buffalo Saber fans are pretty electric. Like there, there's some good hockey towns still left in the, in the tournament. You got the Canadiens, you got the Sabres, you got Carolina. And then who's the fourth team? Avalanche. Yeah, the Avalanche. Not, not the Panthers, unfortunately. But you know what? We'll be back, boys. Next year. We'll be back stronger and better than ever. And the dynasty will keep running. I'm not worried. We needed this year. We're good, we're good. Everything's good. But let's kick off the show. We got a lineup of a couple things. We got, obviously some sad news that broke yesterday, unfortunate news, kind of shocking news, but NASCAR driver Kyle Busch passes away yesterday, 41 years old, kind of a sudden freak accident, right? Obviously we know Kyle Busch, legendary NASCAR driver, two time NASCAR Cup Series champ, 63 wins all time all time leader in wins in NASCAR, Xfinity and Craftsman truck series, and 234 wins overall. And he was named to NASCAR's top 75 list. Just kind of insane news. Unfortunately, I'm not a huge NASCAR guy, but I mean, even if you're not a NASCAR guy, you know exactly who Kyle Busch is. He's just a legendary face for the sport. So, obviously, want to send our condolences to the family, to the NASCAR community. Obviously, everyone's mourning today. But, guys, what. What. What are some memories maybe that you guys have come. Kyle Busch. I know, Wingo, you sent us a picture yesterday of you at a NASCAR race as a kid.
C
Yeah, I mean, you always remember those as a kid. I remember going down to the Daytona 500. It was like the big trio everybody loved, you know, Jeff Gordon, Jimmy Johnson, Kyle Busch. You know, that team was just electric. And then for something like this to happen so suddenly.
B
Right.
C
I know. I heard something saying that last week he had asked to see a doctor and had a sinus infection, and. And then all of a sudden he wins a race and then boom, like this happens. And, you know, it's tragic to see. And I think it was. We were talking about it before on the interview. He was like, you never know, you know, when it's going to be your last. And, you know, you didn't think of it like that. We're thinking, you know, maybe him retiring soon. You know, he's been racing forever, and then it's just. It just hits you and, you know, that goes right back to say, you know, enjoy those moments with your family, those opportunities, and when you're on the highs. And a guy like him had such a. Such an impact on, you know, the racing world and NASCAR as a whole. And he's somebody that's going to be remembered forever.
B
Absolutely.
D
Yeah. As a. As a childhood, dude, Kyle Busch was my guy. So my whole life, I was a Kyle Busch fan. And Kyle Busch. Being a Kyle Busch fan is kind of like being a Yankees fan or a Lakers fan. You either love Kyle Busch or you hate the dude, but you know he's going to win. And that's kind of how it was. It wasn't easy being a Kyle Busch fan. You know, you never knew when he was going to wreck your favorite driver. You never knew when he was going to golf on his crew chief. That was kind of the. The attraction to me, though. This guy was electric. I mean, you know, I know it's a sad time, but Kyle, you know, Kyle was electric, man. This, this guy would go hard. No one wanted to win more. You know, the crash outs fighting on, you know, pit lane. Walking up to the Joey Logano hitting him with a right hook like this guy was electric. And you know, I think what makes it crazy is when you see people pass away that were, you know, legends in the sport. They're normally, you know, older, they've moved on, they, they're not in the spotlight. This Guy won his 69th truck race just like this last weekend, five days ago, six days ago, was doing a post race interview talking about, you know, you never know when it's going to be your last one. And for him to be like still in the scene and it be so sudden and out of nowhere and especially a guy that was such a legend, it seemed untouchable and so fierce in so many ways. To see something just come out of nowhere and it could just take you. It really is eye open and it's really wild. But Kyle Busch, man, absolute legend. One of the best parts of my upbringing was rooting for Kyle Busch, especially being in a group chat with guys who hated Kyle Busch my whole life. So I always went to bat for him. I never cared because he might be crazy, he might wreck your favorite driver, but he's still gonna win on Sunday.
B
Yeah.
D
And you have to live with that. And that guy, that guy was awesome, man. Kyle Busch, freaking legend. Shout out, shout out to his family for sure, man. Tough times. Know he's got his son that he's poured all of his time in. You know, he's really. That's another thing that's not talked about enough is he's kind of. He hadn't been winning as much as he was. He left Joe Gibbs and he's been at, you know, with a new team and that the winds haven't came like they used to, but he's been pouring a lot of time during the week and building his son up into, you know, racing and dirt track racing and doing all this stuff. And him and his son were just so tight and he was pouring everything into that kid. That so definitely looking forward to seeing that kid's future and hoping I could be rooting for Brexton Bush one day.
B
That would be sick. That would be a full circle legacy moment for sure. And I don't know if you guys saw the Tweet Dale Earnhardt Jr. Tweeted out yesterday, you know, kind of saying we've had. They've struggled with each other's existences right on the track and that they've you know, historically, obviously clash heads a lot in their racing styles, but they recently had a conversation amongst each other, right, where they were kind of seeing past these differences and seeing how they can actually do more together. Kind of leave a legacy. Right. Again, Dale Earnhardt Jr. Another iconic person in. In NASCAR. But they were here trying to figure out their differences here kind of like at the final, final days, final weeks of. Of Kyle's life, which is. Which is pretty crazy. And then Dale coming out and mentioning that in. In a tweet and telling that story is pretty crazy. Right? And the whole aspect of Kyle also saying that, you know, you never know when this is your last. It's. It's just. It's just crazy to see how. How it all went down. But he is definitely a legend in the space.
D
And I kind of hinted at that like you never knew he was going to wreck your favorite driver. Yeah, that's actually what really Cat. He was always going to be a villain. But that if you don't know, he wrecked Dell Jr. In the peak of Dell Jr. When you don't mess with Dell Jr. That. That was most popular driver voted every single year he was in nascar. You know, you loved his dad, you naturally went to him. He got his own fan base. He made NASCAR cool, you know, and he wrecked Dell Jr. And that. That really was the turning point for Kyle Busch and really, truly being the most hated driver in nascar. And they hated each other for a long time. And that goes back to the duality of man. Though Kyle Busch be. You got married, Samantha Bush had kids. As he started winning more and becoming a champion and a real pioneer of the sport, he really grew up. He really grew up and he. He salvaged some of those relationships and people respected him a lot more and he did things the right way towards the end of his career. And yeah, that. That is the real story. There is, you know, a man and trials and tribulations and growing up and realizing there's bigger things. So, yeah, that is a cool story and that is a funny story too, because that was one of the biggest
B
reasons people hated Kyle Busch was do Absolutely, absolutely. Well, Kyle Busch rest in peace. Legacy will definitely live on. People in the NASCAR world and all over the sports world will know, be reminiscing the best memories of Kyle. And yeah, we move on and the legacy lives forever. That's for damn sure. But let's talk now a little bit about some NFL OTAs. Right? We're here. We are. We're already getting it back into the thick of Football boys, right? It feels like it never really goes away. Right? We're back, we're back. Guys are in the field, they're practicing. The rookies are out there getting their feet wet. What are you guys thoughts on some of the, the news in the OTA so far? Obviously, still, still very early on. But what, what have you guys been seeing out there?
C
Yeah, I mean, I, I loved yesterday. Even the Matthew Stafford extension, right? One year, five million. That was big for la. I know we're getting towards the end of his career, so it'll be big for him to finish strong. And then having a guy like Ty Simpson behind him to learn from him and then it's, it's off season, right? You're, you're on social media looking for the reels and the clips from the guys and workouts from your team. I've been seeing some, some Caleb Douglas tweets and videos from him running routes down in Miami. But yeah, it's cool to see guys back out there. You know, you do have those guys that are holding out, right, if they want, you know, contract extensions or little things like that. But at the end of the day, you know, football is ramping back up and you see guys back out there working, loving the game of football, getting after it. That's just all a testament of what's going to come later on in the season.
D
My favorite part is the overreactions. I, I thought we were past worrying about every highlight that's posted of tua, but we're not. Clearly. We're still analyzing every clip posted by the Falcons of tua. We're also not the only one dealing with it. It's, it's clearly spread into the Falcons fan base now and they're going after each other over tua. But I will say this, it seems like the Falcons really want TUA to be that guy because, boy, they keep posing the two highlights.
B
I mean, it, it is interesting how to see that unfolds, right? Because they drafted Pendex pretty high. You want your kind of future guy. But what you're able to get out of TUA in this process, right, is a quarterback that had shown flashes, right? Was he a system guy? With Mike McDaniel, we've seen the limitations obviously, year over year the last couple years, but who knows, right? New system, new opportunity, new new organization, right? You kind of get to clear out all the noise and can TUA come in there and win the job? It's one of those divisions too, right, where the last couple years could get in with Eight wins and, and maybe win the division. Right. And then all of a sudden you have a playoff berth. Right. So I think it's a unique situation there. There's weapons around them, obviously. He's got Drake, London, he's got Bijan. Right. Like they got tools. Cow Pitts. Exactly. Right. They got tools right around them. So it's not like it's like a deadbeat offense with nothing around them. Like there, there is substance there and, and their defense for me has a little bit lackluster, but there is massive opportunity for that defense to be really good. Right. There's a ton of Hoopers on that side of the ball as well. So I think from a fit standpoint, like one of those quarterbacks could go in there and have everything that they need to succeed. It's just whether or not they can actually get it done. Bringing in brings in a level of competition. He's has a little bit of, of, of experience under his belt now. So I am curious to see what happens there also, you know, quarterback wise, right. We see the news. Aaron Rodgers is coming back for another year and is officially his last year. What, what are your guys thoughts over there in Pittsburgh? Right. Aaron Rogers coming back, trying to leave a legacy now. Try to see if he can kind of finish on a high note. They didn't have a bad year last year. Right. But didn't necessarily get the results they wanted. Aaron Rodgers didn't really have to do a ton. What are your expectations now with McCarthy coming in as a first year head coach there and, and well, not first year head coach, but first year with Pittsburgh and kind of that dynamic over there in Pittsburgh, man, he, he.
C
Gosh, they are ready to move on from him for. It's just, it's one of those things where your respect, it's almost like, God, I hate to compare this, but like a Lakers in LeBron situation.
D
That's what I was gonna say. That's what I was gonna say. I told you these dudes do not leave without the farewell tour. Yeah, farewell tour.
B
Yeah.
C
Yeah. So I don't know. He had his, his great moments and he's coming to an end. You know, he did his little glory tour when he went out to Thailand or whatever. You know, he just wants to kind of go out with, with the bang and you know, be able to stay healthy a full season. I think he's got like a wife now or something. He kind of just showed up with Ring. Nobody knows about it. Everyone knows about his brother on the Bachelor and him not showing up and then putting a seat at the table for more dramatic scene and how his family doesn't, you know, like him and. But, you know, he. He loves the game of football. He really does. And when you get to that age, you know, that's the difference between when you look at guys like Tom Brady and P.T. manning and, and these guys who played so long, it's not really about the money. It's that they have done this for such a long period of time. It's the way that they wake up and they breathe and they bleed. Like going into the film room and, and dissecting offenses and defenses and. And just. And just dialing it up and. And that's something that he's done for so long. Done it at a high level. So I hope he does stay healthy this entire season. He's got some weapons, so he's able to go out there and end his career the right way.
D
I think that he absolutely loves the game. I think he's the ultimate competitor. I think he does give it his all when he is out there. Is Aaron Rogers their best option at this point? Probably. I mean, that's probably the best they could do. I mean, you could argue one of these younger guys, but you don't know. And I think you absolutely run it back with Aaron Rogers if you can. But also, you're not. I don't. I don't see a Super bowl with Aaron Rogers. So it's like, yeah, this is going to make us competitive every week and we could probably sneak in the playoffs, but I don't see it like, being a Super bowl run with Aaron Rogers at this point.
B
Yeah. And like we said, right. McCarthy comes in like, there was a very strategic thought process there, like, hey, we have a Good enough team. McCarthy's been there before. He's played with Aaron Rogers. They have amazing chemistry. They. They enjoy playing with each other. Do we try to go one more run here at it with. With Rogers? But it's not like they had a coach that was a bad coach. Right. You had Mike Tomlin, a guy that historically has. Has been a dominant coach, especially on the defensive side. I don't know how much of that dynamic of McCarthy and Rogers. Like, to your point, Bobby. Right. Like, how are they going to be super bowl contenders with this team? Can they contend and win games? Absolutely, I think so. I think the DNA in Pittsburgh is. Is strong and they're always kind of like in the thick of it, but in that Division 1, right. Teams that are.
C
Yeah, that's true.
B
It's tough it's tough. And I, I, I think Aaron Rodgers has still got flashes of what, you know, what he can be, but I just don't believe it to be enough to compete with all the talent that exists in the NFL at this point.
C
Yeah. And I, and I got, I hate to bring his name up again, but comparing, okay, not comparing them as players, but as people to. And Aaron Rodgers. Aaron Rodgers is the type of guy you, you like having in your building because he likes to coach guys. He loves to give advice, you know, experience that he's had and, and help the younger quarterbacks. You talk about when he had Jordan Love in Green Bay. Right. He talked about, you know, helping him out, helping him digest offenses and defenses and schemes and different drills that he can do to get better. Two is not that guy that would do that. So in saying that having a guy like Aaron Rodgers in your program, not only, yes, you might not get to where you want to this year, but he has an opportunity to pass down some wisdom and some knowledge these, these younger guys that they do have in order to put them on the right trajectory path to the future.
B
Yeah. Another veteran quarterback, now that I'm thinking about it too. Right. Like, is Russ is just, what, just gonna hang out in New York behind over there? Like, what's, what's Russ up to nowadays? Don't forget about jmo and jmo. Yeah. Which I'd rather have JMO all day, I think.
D
Isn't Russell Wilson a free agent? I think he's a free agent.
B
Is he, Is he, Is he not on that?
D
Because I thought somebody was. I thought I seen somebody saying that some team was interested in him. It could have been for a late pick, a swap or trade to bring in a vet. But I, I think almost like, I almost believe he's a free agent right now.
C
Russell Wilson is like the James Harden in the NBA for me. So I don't really know what's going on.
B
Yeah. Wait, what?
C
No, yeah, like, James Harden back in the day was the man and everybody knew him and he was baller and so was Russell Wilson. And now it's like, I didn't even know James Harden was playing right now, and I have no idea where a freaking.
B
He, he is a.
D
What did you see on. He is. Okay.
B
Yeah, yeah. No, but when I pull up Google that they, you know, Google AI likes to spit out, and it was like, he's muling a contract with the New York jets, and I'm like, is Google AI like, breaking news right now?
D
That's what. No that's what it was. That's what it was. I had.
E
There's going to be Geno Swiss backup. I'm like, get out of here. We're taking a Geno's backup. Like, be a veteran understudy. I'm like, isn't Geno Smith older than Russell Wilson? Well, you mean like a veteran understudy? 11 years under his belt. What do you mean? We need a veteran presence in New York.
D
Dude, that's like a movie script. Just two old gunslingers, like, has been coming in, like, who's gonna win the job? It's like, neither one of them really want to because they get paid the same just to sit on the bed.
B
That's a crazy situation. Yeah. I mean, the j. When you. I guess, let's do this right. Of the. Of. Of the teams out there, like, some teams, I think I are building towards our future. Some teams seem like they're confused. Who. Who would you say right now are the teams that are just the most confused in the NFL right now?
C
The Browns, Cardinals.
B
I like both of those, but the
D
Cardinals don't have any. The Cardinals don't have anything. So I'll give them a pass because
E
they should be confused.
D
Like, honestly, you walk in that building right now, you look around the talent around you, you're like, what the hell? This is not Notre Dame. Yeah, but honestly, I kind of think the Steelers, man. I'll say the Steelers because, like, they're in a transitional phase and they haven't faced it yet. The Dolphins were similar to that. And that's why I can say this with conviction. We kept grabbing on and trading for more people and grabbing on the vets and repaying vets. This next year, this next year, this next year. There is no next year, buddy. Blow it up.
B
Yeah.
D
Trade those awesome players you love. Get off of them. Get your assets in. Rebuild this thing. Yeah, dude. That's just what it is.
B
Well, they have over there. Like, does he have.
D
And they drafted. They drafted Drew Aar as well. So, I mean, I get the mentor part. I do understand the mentor part, but I do believe this is just kicking the can down the road. You put Mike McCarthy with Aaron Rogers, sure. But the rest of the team, it's their first time with Mike McCarthy. That's a learning curve. You're not going to salvage things that quickly. And I feel like it's cool and it is probably the right thing to do, theoretically, but I don't think it's going to end up amounting to much.
C
I. I think there's three teams that come to my mind, not just confusion as a whole, but confusion with their quarterbacks in their future. And that's one. The Baltimore Ravens with Lamar, I think with his injury last year, you know, they're in a little bit of a teetering point. Like, can we cross that bridge with Lamar? The Bengals, right. Can Joe Burrow stay healthy? Is his, Is he our guy for the next, you know, eight years? Is that going to happen? And then the third one, I would, oh, I just lost it. The third one.
D
Was.
C
The third one the Philadelphia Eagles with Jalen Hurts. I know everyone asked that question, you know, is Jaylen her a pocket passer? Can he make the throws? You know, is it kind of hidden behind the scheme? We had a change in offensive coordinator and all these different things. It's just, you know, Philly won the super bowl, they took a big step down, and then it's like, can they get back to that level? So I'm curious to see if Philadelphia, you know, does have some quarterback changes in the near future, because I think Jalen Hurts is a great quarterback, but at the end of the day, it's just, I don't know. You got. If you're not winning now, the out front front office has got to be thinking, hey, what's the next step to be able to cross that bridge?
D
I, I will say this. I agree. Lingo. I'll go with Wingo here. I think that Jalen Hurts has gotten more leniency and freedom in a pass than any other quarterback in this league. And especially when you give the fact that the talent he's been surrounded by, no one has been given more of a crutch to sit on. And no one has been more excuses made for than Jalen Hurts. I really don't think Jalen Hurts has done that much as a true quarterback. I think he's a talented guy. I think he can use his legs. He's done the best with the situation. But I do believe, I do agree with Wingo. I think that's a ticking time bomb. I mean, if you can't go get it done eventually, I think that is a conversation you have to have.
C
Yeah. And they're winning football games with him throwing right under 100 yards or 150 yards. I mean, which is, which is fine, right?
D
If you're winning a.
C
If you're winning games, you're winning games. Nobody.
D
Right? Yeah. I'm not trying to. Don't play that part.
C
But then what happens in the game where he does have to throw for 300 yards. That part very rare that we do see that. So that's the biggest question. Like, can you rely on Jalen Hurts to make the throws in the big time moments? And with the controversy with A.J. brown and, and, and just all this stuff going on with the personalities. Don't get us wrong. I, I think Jalen Hurts gets us with the quotes that are put out and, and because I'm motivated by him every day when I'm seeing he speaks as a motivational.
D
Oh, you like that? I think it's not did. I think Jalen Hurts is the ultimate cornball when he speaks. Dude, I hate it. I can't. The main thing is the main thing, shorty.
C
Motivational music behind it on Tick Tock. It sounds kind of good, but
D
I don't know.
B
I, I mean, I will say this about Jalen Hurts, right? Winning cures, all right? And they've, they've had a good enough team around them that a lot of that noise will get diminished. Right. Some of it can get exposed, obviously, when you're not winning. And here we are talking about TUA again. TUA was getting exposed because we weren't winning games. And sometimes you would look, statistically you're like, can't really put this on tua and I'm not here to defend TUA and everything. Like, we're moving on past that.
E
That's good.
B
But at the end of the day, we were hearing everything about TUA because we weren't winning games and there was a lot of blame to put around. Right. I think obviously they have a better coach in Sirianni over there. I think they have a better defense. Like there was a lot of things around them that helped kind of quiet the noise around Jalen Hurts because after you go look at the stat line, you're like, Holy, Jalen Hurts. Thr for no touchdowns, had 110 passing yards and, you know, hit. Hit 14 of 20 passes like he didn't have to do crap, you know, but sometimes that's all you need, right? He's not turning the ball over. He's not doing these things where two of two is throwing three picks in a game and you're like, okay, well we can't freaking win a game when you're doing that. So sometime it is situational. Right. But it all comes down at the quarterback. And we're always going to love when Lamar is throwing for 355 yards, running for two and throwing for three. Right. Like that's electric and people see that. But the wins and Losses aspect, I think plays a huge factor in that whole Jalen narrative. Jalen Hurts narrative.
D
And I'll swing the other way around. Could you. This is where I really see the biggest difference. Jalen Hurts is doing what he needs to do in that system and the team built around them. But, dude, could you imagine Josh Allen on that Eagles team? Yeah, that's my point.
B
Yeah.
D
Yeah. They have the best offensive line you could possibly build. Their defense is freaking the monsters. You know, it's stupid. They got Saquon Barkley back, flipping over players. You got Jaylen her, or you got A.J. brown, Devonte Smith, two tight ends. Like, dude, what are we doing here? It's like, it does get overlooked because the product itself looks great on Sundays. And they go win 11 games and they go into the NFC championship. Yeah, but like, if Josh Allen or Lamar Jackson or Patrick Mahomes had that kind of team, you couldn't. They wouldn't lose. They wouldn't lose. There would be no games. That. And that's the point people are overlooking, is like, this is the perfect built team. Howie Roseman is a superstar. That team is incredible. And that. That's where I look at it. Yeah. Tua, you probably have the same issues if he was on that team, because two is limited. He has limitations. So does Jalen Hurts. And like Wingo said, Jalen Hurts looks great. When they're running the RPO and they're running it down your throat to death, you go down two scores and Jalen Hurts has to be a quarterback, and now he has to throw that ball. The game changes.
C
So I'll ask you this. Seattle is. Was one of my biggest questions last year, obviously, winning the Super Bowl. But when you really sit down and break down the film and watch, I know a lot, everyone watched the super bowl. It seems like to me, Sam Darnold can't make the throws like a lot of these other quarterbacks in the NFL. And people always had the question of, you know, is he a Hall of Fame quarterback? And is this. Well, you know, maybe not talent wise, but he does have a ring. Right. You always say you can't be in these. These accolades if you don't have rings and if you're not winning championships. But Sam Darnold did. But at the same time, watching him play, you know, there were so many crucial throws or even basic throws that I watched Sam Darnold miss, where it's like some of these other quarterbacks can make them. And that goes back to your point when you're talking about having that complete team. I guarantee you, if Seattle wasn't winning the amount of games that they have, Sam Darnold will be bashed and he would be, you know, on the bench and they'd be looking for a new quarterback right now.
B
Yeah, no, that is true. That is very true. I. It really comes down to, like, we said that complete team aspect, but quarterback fixes a lot of those problems, right? Because let's talk Buffalo, right? Put. Put. Jalen hurts on Buffalo. Buffalo's probably struggling like crazy with Jalen hurts. You know, when you. When you do this little, like, QB swap situation, you're like, wow, dude, I.
D
I actually like your scenario better than mine, right?
B
But, yeah, it' flipping right, dude.
D
Jalen hurts in Buffalo is the number one pick next year in the draft. Holy hell, dude. I. And I, look, we love to hate on Josh Allen as Dolphins fans. That's our. That's our rite of passage. But, like, dude, Josh Allen carries hard.
B
Yeah.
D
Like, I almost feel bad for the guy. And look, we need the Bills to. Yeah, his. Yeah, his back. I just started laughing because I immediately thought of. Remember the Titans when old boy came in the locker room like, oh, my back gave you a mama piggyback ride and she weighs twice as much as you do.
C
Oh, my God.
D
Anyways, yes, we love to hit on Josh Allen, and the fact that the Bills do fall apart at some point every year is the only thing keeping us alive as Dolphin fans. But Josh Allen carries hard, man. You put Josh Allen in Philly, man, he's gonna be happy guy I would actually love. I wish. That should be reality TV right there. They should swap, you know, like swapping wipes. We should do swapping quarterbacks. Really expose these, man.
B
100. 100. I want to touch one more thing. I. I know you guys have seen it. Big Finn's guys, obviously, but Halfley, right? We've been. You've. Winkle. You talked about. We're just watching social media now just to get a feel of what's going on out there. Halfley feels different, right? In the way that he talks and the way that he communicates with the teams. And I. In a year, you. You almost get blinded when you have the same kind of leadership in there for so long. Right? We're so used to having Mike McDaniel in there and the way that he communicated, and it would always get knocked right. We're always complaining, the ums and the stuttering and this and that. But for me, at least, I kind of got used to it. I'm like, it is what it is, you know, I guess. I guess he's just that much of a genius that you forget about the way a guy communicates. Watching this guy talk made it put. Put everything back into perspective. I'm like, that's what it's supposed to sound like.
C
Yeah. So, I mean, I'll say this. It seems like he has a lot of respect when he's running around talking to the guys, hyping them up, kind of joking with them. I'm gonna be honest with you. When Mike McDaniel was walking around with his. With his pretty chrome gold shoes on and his. And his pants pulled up, and it's like, hey, man.
D
Like that, that.
C
I don't know, I just. I didn't feel the same about that. And I think Half has a lot of respect. And, you know, these guys are fired up about him. I don't know if they felt the same way. Well, I don't think they felt the same way about McDaniels. But Halfley, you know, seeing something like that, right. That as a fan and as somebody on the outside, that makes you feel involved. That makes you feel like you're right there in practice and like, Halfley is talking to you and you're. You're sitting there doing warm ups with the guys and. And I think, you know, that's a great job by the PR team. But to see him, I think, you know, gets the guys going.
D
I. I got a point I want to make, but first thing I do want to point out is I just want to point this out. I don't want to say anything with it. I just want to point out that Wingo was in that building last year when he made that statement. I just. I just hit me that Wingo was in that building. That's all I'm gonna say about that next is I. The biggest thing that stood out to me, Halfley was miked up the other day, and, yeah, he talks with a conviction. And it was a five minute video. There was a lot of things you could take from it. The biggest thing that stood out to me, he was telling A chan, I'm coaching the team, not the offense. And Hn was like, no, you got to pick a side. He goes, no, I don't. I'm coaching the team. I'm coaching everybody.
B
Yeah.
D
And it made me think, like, was Mike really that. Like, was Mike really that dedicated to, like, one side of the ball? So it's like we go. We look like a parrot over there. And it made me realize, like, oh, like look, we don't know what this is going to be. We don't know how it's going to work, but at least it is like a true step to having that true leader of men, you know, looking at the team, not just, this is my offense. What are y' all doing over there? Don't care. I got my guy. So that was cool to see. It was a little moment, but I really took that, you know, serious when, you know, hm, was like, you know, what are you doing? And then, you know, Halfley even made a joke later. He's like, you see that? I coached the offense on that play and I thought it was funny because, you know, Halfley wanted to make it, make sure he understood. Like, I coached the team. I do not care. Like, I'm not leaning one way or the other. I'm coaching this team. And that was cool to me.
B
Yeah, yeah, I, I, I, I think it's very early to tell, but it's definitely in the direction that I would like to see as a Dolphin fan. And, you know, I think it was due time and, and now seeing Mike over there with the Chargers, I think is also interesting to see, right, Because I think as a consensus even around the league, right, whether you're a Dolphin fan or not, Mike is an oc, right? He's maybe not a head coach, maybe he gets another gig down the line, but as of right now, we know him to not be that head coach guy, but he's got that offensive guru kind of mentality and aspect to him. And it's always going to become. The question now, which I think is going to be the biggest question going into the season, is like, what would Mike have looked like with Herbert, you know, instead of Tua with the Dolphins? To me, I'm very intrigued about that, not only just as a Dolphin fan, but as, as a football fan, because Herbert is, you know, also been one of those guys that you're like, when is he going to take that next step? You've seen the flashes, you've seen the big throws that he can make. You know, he's got a cannon of an army. He's obviously more move, he can move better than Tua could move, right? So it's like all these elements that he didn't have with Tua, he can now have with Tua. Does that make Herbert elevate or does Mike just kind of stay capped at where he's at? To me, that's a big question because it's going to be like the biggest what if with the Dolphins And I feel like dolphins always live in that what if world, right. With Drew Brees back in the day to a Herbert, like there's always like
D
the one you didn't have to bring him to Breeze Dog. You could, you could have just like Chua Herbert's bad enough. You didn't have had to go back Drew, Breeze Dog. Come on bro.
B
It's the life of a dolphin.
D
I do agree. I think it's going to tell a lot though about everybody. I think Mike does have a lot of pressure on him because he does have all the tools at his disposal. But I, I don't think it's that simple. I, I really think that the, the, the player and the prototypes on that team are so much different than anything Mike's had before. He doesn't have all the speed guys. They got big body receivers. Hell, even the tight ends are six, seven guys. Justin Herbert, completely different archetype. Then the Shanahan system in general is used to rolling out. That's not their kind of like thing. So I mean it's not a match made in heaven by any means. So this is not a guaranteed to work. So yeah, I'm very interested to see how that goes.
B
No. All right, well, that's about it for NFL. Obviously a lot of exciting things going on and we will continue to roll through the off season. But we got NBA playoffs going on now. All right. Your boy Wemby is doing wy things over there, but you know, we got a, we got a good east and west series going on. The Knicks are up now 20 over there in New York, kind of handling the Cavs in this first part, even though they were, what was it? They were down 22 and game one came back.
D
Yeah.
B
Handled business in game two. And then we got a good series in, in OKC and, and the spurs over there. One one. What are you guys thoughts so far on how both of these conference finals are going?
C
I'm sure you saw the clip of Timothy at halftime saying, oh, we're just a little rusty. We're a little rusty. He went in the locker room, he talked to the boys, he rode the worm down there, got him fired up and, and those guys came back 22. I mean, I don't know. I watched the game last night and the biggest thing that I think about the Knicks is, you know, them just, you know, having a complete team. Right. Jalen Brunson isn't out here dropping 30, 40 points.
D
Right.
C
I think he had 19 or something last night and that was his career. Yeah. And Hart's been the guy kind of doing that. But I think, you know, they're playing a lot of complete basketball, which is really, really great. And then you look at, you know, the alien, right? I got no words for him because at this point it's like, he's just such a. Alien. Yeah, such an alien.
D
That's fine. That's great. That's.
C
That's perfectly defensively, any scheme that you have, it just messes it up because you don't, you don't plan for a 10 foot man just sitting there. That's like taking a basketball hoop and just rolling them around the core in front of whoever has the ball. And, and that can be a little difficult.
D
I want to, I want to apologize. You got something, Andre?
B
No, no, go for it.
D
Okay. I. So I didn't want to cut off if you had something for that. I want to apologize to the spurs because I thought basically whoever came to see the Thunder were just signing up for an ass kicking. And the Thunder have, you know, they tied back the series and they could take back control of this series and run off with it. But man, that game one was incredible, right? I mean, that might have been the ultimate game we see the rest of this year. Like that might have been it. Double overtime. Wimy's like 40, 20 and 13. Like they got Alex Garuso trying to guard him in the post. It was insane. This guy was just dunking on everybody.
B
They.
D
They trying to get the, the ball into him over Caruso and he turns around, dunks on chat. He's talking.
C
He pulls up from Mars.
D
He pulls up.
B
That was crazy.
D
From his original planet when he, when
B
he hit that shot. I don't know if you guys like realize like, because I think the, the Thunder had maybe just tied the game at that point. I think this was what this was in double ot when he hit that three, right, the deep three.
C
No, that was a shot. Two time.
B
That was a shot. Two tied that. Yeah, yeah, but that's what I'm saying. They. They were up. Crowd is electric in okc. They're like, he comes in, he hits that shot. The silence that happened immediately when he hit that shot. I think it was a mix of like, oh, they just tied the game that quickly. But two like, holy, how the hell did he just hit that? I think it was like a level of shock and awe from the OKC fans being like, bro, what can this guy not do? Here he is dominating the boards, dominating down low, hitting this shot, hitting that shot. And now he's pulling up from the logo. Like if it's his like everyday type of shot and this guy's seven feet tall, it's, it's absurd what this guy can do. And for me it's like one who could stop this guy can. He can just continue to carry the spurs all the way through. I mean, obviously, I think in my opinion, whoever wins out of the west wins, wins the finals. But is he able to do enough? Right, because you know, they lose game two, but you look at his stat line, he's still dropping 20. I think it was like 24 and 6, 17, you know, and that was like a down game compared to game one. But even with that, they lose that game, right? Like, that's still a great performance. So that to me with the spurs is like, is wy? Does WY need help? Right? Because OKC is deep all over the place.
D
Yeah, that, that, that would be my point is that if he does actually take on this squad, and let's be honest, the OKC is unreal, that's a cheat code if he really does take it on. And no disrespect to anybody else on that team, but like he's a one man show if he did that. I mean, that's, that's like what LeBron. Sorry, we go. That's like what LeBron never could do in Cleveland the first time. You know what I mean? He never could get over that hump all the way until he came back and they had Kyrie and other things that go with him. If he could do that, he, that truly would be insane. It would be an absolute legacy move to take out those because he OKC Thunder and he hasn't even had de' Aaron Fox, who's the next best player on that team. I believe, unless I'm wrong, he hasn't even had de' Aaron Fox yet.
B
No, I forgot that he was even there. Yeah, I, I mean with, with Wemby, right? I mean you look at the way like obviously his style play, but even his teammates, right, are like, we're confident going into every single game because Wemby is on the court. Like, we're, we're not, we're not sweating about anything because we had, we got the best player in the world, arguably because of what his like, physical traits are and the way he plays the game. I, I don't, I don't see in the foreseeable future how somebody can defend 1B religiously. It's, it's impossible.
E
I mean, they're fighting him every, every possession yeah, they're kicking his ass.
B
You have to, you got to send like three bodies at him.
E
Hardenstein's like, they're like, go out there and clothesline him. Like, you have to hurt him. You have to hurt him. Like, how else are you going to stop? You have to hurt him. But before, before I send it back to you, Bobby, one guy that you're not mentioning that's hooping too for the spurs is Stefan Castle catching bodies all over the court. I think at 25 in game two and that game too, they only lost by nine points and like nine points in an NBA game. It's not a blowout by any stretch of the imagination. That's three buckets we already put in perspective. So like, yeah, OKC is good. They won game two. But like, these are close games. These are close games can be decided, you know, in really 30 seconds of possession, if you really look at it. So I think the spurs still have their shot. They, whenever you're don't have the home field advantage or the home court advantage, it's always like take one of those first two and take it back home. And the spurs did that. So that was huge for them to steal one in OKC before they go back to San Antonio tonight.
D
That is true. They flipped the series. They took home field advantage from. So that's another thing. It has been a close. Pooch makes a great point. It hasn't been like one blowout and then another blowout. It's been a tight battle all the way through. So I'd really like to see Darren Fox get back for game three and let's see if that makes the difference.
B
Yeah, I mean we can't, we can't discredit SGA over there as well. You know, you could say what you want about his game and the flopping and all that. He's still a Hooper and he's clutch as hell. So I, I'm excited about that battle. I could see that series going seven, you know, on the east side it's going to have to come down to, to Mitchell having to be what he does. He's gonna have to drop a four point game in game three, I think for them to climb themselves back because they, they don't. Look, I think, I think when you give up a 22 point lead too, you're feeling good about kind of coming in and setting a tone and then you flop essentially and you lose that game. It's hard to bounce back from that. And now you're down two zero and you just feel like, you have that much more pressure to be that perfect in a game. Obviously, they have the home crowd now behind them, so. But now it's like, it's must win basketball. You got to go here, even the series, because then you got to go back back to New York. And those New York fans are. Are riding high right now.
E
They're ready to burn the city down.
B
They really are, bro.
E
Like, they really have it in Philly. Like, New York will burn down the city. Like, they're gonna set fire to something and just completely obliterate Madison Square Garden. I feel bad for them. I really do. And that's just making the finals. They're not even winning the finals if they just get there. There's gonna be fire everywhere along New York.
B
They're just lucky to hear we got there.
D
If the knee.
B
If.
D
Andre, we got to get this in the budget somehow. If the Knicks do win the fight, we gotta get man on the street coverage for that.
C
I'm not a Knicks fan, but I would love to go up there just to not even go to the game because those seats are nuts. But just like, imagine being, like, just around that area, Times Square. They probably got it, like, playing on the screens in time.
B
O.
C
Trick, dude. Elite.
D
Just standing outside of Penn Station waiting for that game to end and just with a microphone and pooch with the camera just sweating, just running around. It's electric. The stuff that happens after he
B
get jumped.
E
I'll be in a heat jersey. I'm gonna be in a alonzo Morning jersey. 33.
B
Oh, my God. There's a kid. There's a kid that I know that actually does the. The man on the street stuff for. For those next games.
D
Oh, hell yeah.
B
You've probably seen it. He. He does off the glass tv. He does those interviews, like.
C
Yes.
B
Where he asked, like, he'll say, like, two random names. Like, they're celebrities. They're not basketball players. And they're like, oh, yeah. Who do you think is better?
D
You think it was the better nick of all time?
B
And they ask and they're like, oh, yeah, I think this guy, because, you know, his dribbling and he's just super athletic and he's got these elite skills. Oh, he'll say, like speed and. And like, what's this guy?
D
Leonardo DiCaprio?
B
Yeah, some like that. And he goes, yeah, I gotta go with speed. He's just. He's got that quickness to him. You know, He's. Yeah, bro. They're giving, like, deep answers. That's why. And they're like, bro, this guy doesn't play basketball.
D
That's incredible.
B
Yeah, it's elite. Elite. All right, well, let's see what happens within the next couple days here in these two series. But real quick, we're gonna pivot to some soccer. We are not soccer people. I mean, Dave, who's in Uganda, would definitely be able to. To touch on this a little bit more.
D
But back in Uganda, you kind of said that like it wasn't a big deal. That's kind of a big deal.
B
It is, it is. I. I mean, keeping it on the down low because we don't know if we'll make it back this time around. That's.
D
Yeah. For insurance reasons. Dave is on PTO time. Okay.
B
Exactly. He's. He's get. Well, this is why he's going from Uganda and then he's going to MSG after to do some man on the street over there. So he's on the road right now, but he's negotiating a ceasefire. Yeah. Our soccer talk. We got Arsenal wins the Premier League. Big, big title. Obviously, if you're a big soccer fan. I know there's a lot of Arsenal heads out there. Or as. As we have it spelled here. Arseal for those.
D
Oh,
B
I was like, wait, am I saying it wrong or.
E
Arsenal. Arsenal.
B
Arsenal wins it's first Premier League title. Any. Any thoughts here, boys? Because I got absolutely nothing to provide in this conversation.
E
I think I can provide something.
B
Okay.
E
I'm not a huge soccer guy, but from what I know, I mean, obviously this is Arsenal's first time winning the Premier League. And Arsenal, very respected club, obviously in the Premier League, one of the most competitive sports leagues in the entire world. One and, you know, probably the most competitive sports league when it comes to soccer. So Arsenal was, I guess, the, you know, the, the forgotten son of the Premier League. They're always good, but they're not good enough to win. It obviously have Chelsea, have Man U Man City, but Arsenal was able to pull it off. I think they weren't even like they were waiting for the results to come out. So it's pretty cool. Like they were watching, like, I believe it was like a showdown to see how the standings. I think it was like a close kind of like standings to actually see when they won. So it wasn't like they won the game and that decided for them. Like they were at home in the practice facility watching the game or watching, you know, whatever presentation it was to see if they won. So they're able. It's almost like a March madness seeing Yourself, get selected, and where you're gonna get seated. And that's how they found out they won. And, I mean, that was huge for Arsenal fans, you know, worldwide, because they do have a worldwide fan base. And this is just like the. Finally, the. The break they've been waiting for, like, LeBron finally winning his first finals. If you had to put it in basketball terms.
B
Yeah. I mean, it is different.
D
Yeah. I was about to say. So you're telling me the Buffalo Bills just won the Super Bowl?
E
Got you, basically, if you had to put it in NFL terms.
B
Yeah. Wingo. They're in North London, England. That's. That's where they're out of. Yeah. Yeah.
D
That's crazy, too. I didn't realize that they, like, didn't have. So I guess they don't have, like, a playoff. It's just like, they were sitting at home waiting to see the results of another game to see if they were the champions. That's. That's wild.
B
That is wild. That's kind of crazy. Shouldn't you, like, win to get, like.
D
Do they still have a playoffs or. No. Are they. What is this? Actually, I'm thinking about what's going on.
B
Oh, regular season ch.
D
I don't think they do. I think it just.
B
Yeah.
E
Whoever comes first in the standings is the winner.
D
They are the Bills.
E
We're not the right guys, but this is too big news. And, like, I've talked to multiple people, like, is this big to talk about, and they're like, you have to mention something about it. You're not talking, guys. But it's very big in the soccer world that Arsenal won this.
B
Gotcha.
E
And they're able to freaking bring home the Premier League title, which I know the Champions League is going on, which is like the.
B
Yes.
E
Club World cup. If you really had to put a.
C
A.
E
A number or like a. I guess, like a paraphrase or definition to it. So that's another huge one.
B
Yeah. Arsenal's playing on Saturday against PSG in the Champions League.
E
Yeah. Yeah. So this is Premier League, Champions League. It's like its own tournament.
B
No, no, that. That. I know, but it's like. Yeah, I mean, I guess it is relevant, but I guess this is more important because they're actually playing. It's the Champions League final.
E
Yeah. So imagine, like, one is like, the Conference Championship, and that's like the Super Bowl. So they won the Conference Championship, but
B
did Arsenal get into the Champions League because they won the Premier League title?
E
The Champions League's already been going on.
B
Okay, so they played themselves in.
E
The champion league goes on alongside the regular season. So they're playing games within for the champions. So it's like a group stage.
D
It's like a dual bracket.
E
Yeah, basically. So this is just Premier League, but the Champions League has, like, Barcelona, Real Madrid, teams from Germany. So that's like a more international kind of European tournament.
B
But it's like the right psg, which is French, and then Arsenal, which is from. From England. That's. You know who. That's like a real, real, real big championship game.
E
Yeah.
B
So that's a big one Saturday at noon for all you soccer heads. They're going to be going crazy. There's a lot of Arsenal bars here in Miami, Actually.
E
I've seen a couple.
B
All right, well, with that, we're 20 days away from the World cup, boys. Obviously, Miami is a whole city down here. We got a couple spots. Canada, Mexico, and the United States of America. What. What are we hyped up about about the World cup? I mean, USA's got one. Obviously, get out of the group stage, that would be a disaster. If they can't get out of the group stage, I will say that right now, that'll be a disaster. Obviously, we are not favorites by any stretch of the imagination, but what. What are you guys excited about for the World Cup?
D
Well, I'm not really down there like y', all, but I guess just to, you know, bring some hype to the city. I mean, y' all got to be hyped to be down there.
B
Yeah. Kind of see, like, sure.
D
The people that will come in, the amount of money that's going to come into the city and the amount of, like, different things you never would have had there for that period is going to be insane.
B
Yeah.
D
I mean, soccer is huge. Whether it has made it here or not yet, it's still huge in this big of a event. You're going to get the benefits from it. So I'm excited to see how big the stage really is for all these cities across United States.
B
Hell, yeah. Oh, yeah. Wingo. Team usa.
C
USA doesn't. Doesn't disappoint. That would be. That would just be horrendous if being in America, they don't make it out of the group stage. And then you just get the USA fans bandwagon someone else, because my uncle's cousin is from Barcelona.
B
Well, that's me. That's me. If USA doesn't make it out of the group stage, I gotta go team. I gotta go team Colombia because my whole fiance's Side of the family is Colombian. So now, yeah, a Colombian fan by association, and I'm like, look, sure, I'm gonna root for them no matter what, but I'm Team USA through and through, so they better make it out of the group stage, because if not, then what? What are we even here for? Right? Because we didn't have to play our way in to even, by the way, get into World cup because we're a host city, so we had an automatic birth to get in. So it's not like USA was rolling and got us into the World cup, right? There was multiple teams that had to fight their way to get into the World cup groupings and all that, right? So thank God we didn't even have to do that because we could be having a completely different conversation, and the disappointment could have already happened, and we didn't even qualify. So that's a whole disaster in itself. But I will say, the way the group is, like, there's no reason we don't have, like, a crazy dominant group. We should be, you know, one of the top two teams out of that group stage. And then, you know, everything out of that is. Is supplemental. You want to hope that you can at least win one game after the group stage. But for me, it's really, like, the biggest disappointment would obviously be you don't even make it out of the group stage. You have to make it out, and then from there, you know, at least make it competitive, because you don't know what the pairings will obviously look like after. After the group stage. I mean, we could be playing freaking Argentina or, you know, I don't even know, you know, Spain in the. Out of the first stage of the. Of the group stage, and you're like, well, it was a good run, boys.
D
Yeah, I guess if we're ever gonna. We need our miracle and ice right now. That's what we need.
B
That's exactly what we need.
D
I don't know what, like, what tournament or what setting, but I do remember a couple times, like, we had a really good women's team and a really good men's team, and we did have a couple good runs there. I don't think we ever finished a deal. And I know this year is probably not the year to think that's possible, but nonetheless, it'd be nice to see us finally, especially in a sport that we don't consider ourselves to be the best at and we're not supposed to be the best at. So it would be cool to see, like, that would be the ultimate. Ultimate Underdog story.
B
Yeah, I think the last time we had a good run like that Bobby was when this guy, Tim Howard, our goalie, the, the bald, bald guy. I don't know if you guys remember him. Yeah, he's one of the obviously most electric goalies of u. S Soccer history, but he, he, he was that part of that era. And Landon Donovan, obviously another USA soccer legend. They were all part of that area where it felt like u. S Soccer was the most relevant it had ever been on the global stage. Right. And we've kind of just slowly regressed, you know, over the last, the last couple world cups and just even club tournaments. I think we won one of these, what do you call it, like the Americas tournament, where like Mexico plays in it, a couple other central American countries and I think Canada, I think, I think we ended up playing Mexico in the final. And I don't remember if we won or not, but that's like the most competitive USA Soccer. So this is like a big opportunity for us as fans to really see where we even stand as like a soccer team and. Right. And where soccer really is. Because Pulisic is our guy. He's kind of the US Face right now. But what is it around him to make a team that's actually going to be competitive? That's going to be the biggest question. All right, let's get into now our debate of the week. Debate of the week. It's summertime, boys, and I felt like this is the time to have this conversation. Is pub sub the best subs out there? I know, I know, Bobby, you're not in the state of Florida, but when you're in Florida. I know, I know Bobby's got in the pub sub when he comes down to Florida, so.
D
Oh yeah.
B
Is the pub sub the best?
D
My wife isn't even like a crazy foodie or like big eater, but like, when we land in south Florida, do we have time and how can we get to publix? And she literally wants the, you know, the tossed in Buffalo pub sub. Like, dude. So, like, the pub sub is good. I, I, I think for me though, like, I appreciate it even more because I don't get it. It's not like, available to me. So, like, I only get it on my trips, you know, it's special in that sense. I do love some jersey mics, though. I'm just saying.
B
I know.
C
So I'll tell you this. Look, I was a big subway fan until, you know, the subway. I felt like they were just very small. They were like, like the Bread was squished. So then I transferred and it to Jersey Mike's. I walk into Jersey Mike's Italian sub and I said, can I get it toasted? Said, we don't toast here. And I'm walking out the door. I'm getting the bigger sandwiches. I can get the chicken tenders on it and I can get it toasted. Pub Publix has the diversity. Anything you want. If you want to make up a sandwich, they'll put it on, put it on there for you. You could tell them to put on bacon, eggs, chicken with salami and ham, and they're gonna make it and toast it for you without any questions.
D
Yeah, 27 later.
B
No, no, but that's the thing. That's the thing. The pub subs are actually like a great price. Like you're talking.
D
No, they are eight bucks. Jersey Mike's actually taxes you. Jersey Mike's. Jersey Mike's will tax you. They don't do the toasted, but they do have heated sub. Heated subs. Side of the board.
C
So that's.
D
You have to order it, though.
B
You have to order it like, you know, like it's a sub. Like you should.
D
No, I agree with that. But yeah, throw it in the toaster. One thing we can all agree on is Subway is so out of here. Dude, if I never hear that word again, I'd be fine.
B
Yeah, I. I have. I have a Subway story that I will. Will not tell on camera for the sake of Subway. So I will. I'll just leave it at that.
D
Andre. Hey, Andre. A businessman. Never mess up with potential sponsors.
B
Exactly.
C
Come on there and sponsor the show.
D
Be getting no cut of that now.
B
I. I used to rip Subway meatball subs back in the day. Like, that was like my go to.
D
No, we did. There was a run for sure, but it was.
B
But public subs, to me is just elite. That chicken tender pub sub. Summer day, you're going to the beach. You drive into Publix. You pick up, pick up your six pack, you grab a bag of ice, you load the cooler, put a little bit of fruit on top. Then you stop by the deli really quick. You can order it on the phone, or you can just go over there to the deli and get whatever sub you want. It is incredible. But to me, the chicken tender sub is elite. I always say I'm gonna get the, you know, the foot long and then just eat half of it now and then save the other half for later. But that is too damn good that every time I end up eating the whole thing in one sitting. And then I am in a massive food coma after. Like, I. I just can't. I can't move that. I think I like that whole sub in itself. Yeah, the jalapenos, the cheese, the buffalo sauce, the, you know, the crispy chicken tenders, the bread. That thing alone, I think, is like 2500 calories, and it's worth every single part of it. Like, I will do it on repeat every. Every weekend.
D
So our tradition. Go ahead.
E
We have a publix literally walking distance from the office. So if we really wanted pub subs, we can get one anytime we want. So we're in a very clutch position here at this office that we have a publix less than 5 minutes away. Probably 3 if you take your car. So we have it on the go. This is a massive adventure. They really need to.
B
It's. I. I don't know if I would want to walk there, though. That's. That's a little rough. No.
E
Yeah, the one that's the expressway. It's not safe walk.
B
I wouldn't say it's a dangerous walk, but it's. It's probably like a mile and a half.
E
No, especially gets rough. I've seen some crazy people getting the express. Like, I've seen so many accidents of people getting off the expressway that they forget. Like, oh, I'm going from expressway traffic to, like, normal residential traffic. And people are like, yeah, I'm gonna go 60 off this. And they're like, oh, I have to break and yield to oncoming traffic.
D
So our. Our pre game tradition. When I come down, shout out to producer Eric. He puts in the pre order for all the subs. We swing by, grab a little, you know, your favorite alcoholic beverage while we. Eric slides over and picks up the subs, head to the tailgate. You drink for a couple hours, then you eat that first half. Then you go into the game, you come back out the game, and that second half sitting there, like, all mushed up and just turned into one thing, and you're just like, yes, thank God that's still there.
B
Yeah, you guys have more willpower than I do because I won't even make it. I might as well.
D
If I get to drinking, I won't. I don't get to eat.
C
And, like.
D
But when I decide to eat, it's over. Like, once I decide to eat, I don't want to drink again.
B
Damn, you boys are making me hungry, bro. Now I want a pub sub. Oh, man. All right, well, there you have it. Pub subs are elite. It's a general consensus across the board. It wasn't really much of a debate at all. Just. Just a nice plug for the. The pub subs. And of course now, as we wrap up today's episode, we got our dude of the week. Cosmo Tires. Cool cat. Approved due to the week. I'm sure you guys have seen this. We're over in St. Louis, right? The tarps are off. The guys are taking off the shirts and they're swinging it over and they have made an electric appearance over there. You know, shout out the head coach of the Cardinals over there, Ollie, for even bringing this to life, right? He's, he invites the college baseball team over. They bring a ton of energy. They take off the shirts. He ends up inviting them into the locker room after the game and, and they've been on a tear. This is a St. Louis Cardinals team that has basically, before the season even started. Bobby, you know this, right? They were, they were not even talked about to be even remotely relevant. You're talking about arguably maybe worst record in baseball. They got rid of everyone young team. They're trying to like build the future of what this team looks like. And here they are, I think they're like maybe a half game a game.
D
They're in the mix for sure.
B
They're in the mix of the division and they're a wild card team right now. If the season ended today, it's astonishing to see one what the Cardinals have done. But now you bring in these guys over here, the dudes of the week, and they have brought a crazy energy that has translated across all of baseball. Tampa Bay Rays had a, a couple tarps come off in and, and I forgot the name of that ballpark over there right now in Tropicana Field. And then I think the Marlins game, they had a couple guys doing it last night. So it's, it's made a viral effect for the game of baseball, which is awesome, not only for the Cardinals, but when we talk about baseball and you know, kind of its reputation out there, this, these are the things that, that, that help the game,
E
I think.
D
Yeah, that's awesome, man.
E
Is that like you kind of saw this trend happen in college football when it was like that one guy, I think it was at a VT game or like one of these games, like kind of tarps off and everyone joins in and stuff. But this is the first time that I see like an actual organization, like get behind it and be like, if you want to be part of this section, we'll give you free tickets. I think that was like one of the deals.
B
Well, well, he bought free tickets, them tickets to the game. He brought that initial group and then, yeah, obviously it brought in a ton of hype and energy to the stadium that the. They needed over there. And he was like, dude, I got 200 tickets to give every single game. You guys come and show out and. And we'll make it happen.
E
And it's like a built in rally cap. Like, they didn't walk off the day that it happened.
B
Yes.
E
And they called it the tarp off. Walk off. So, like, even the Cardinals guys are doing it in the dugout and they're like spinning the. They're making like T shirts and stuff now. Like, they're doing a full campaign behind this and making it like, screw, we're just gonna make this our thing now.
B
Yeah. When he hit the walk off, he. He was pointing over there to the section. He was pointing over there at the fans, which is dope. It's dope. I'm. I'm here for that.
D
What was the. I'm trying to look it up right now. What was the. Damn. There was like a recent game where like a bunch of fans started migrating to the upper deck and then they more and more started coming in. It had the whole damn section rocking at one point.
E
It was a Cardinals.
B
No, I don't think it was a car. I think it was the Tampa. I think it was the Tampa Bay Rays game.
D
You.
B
I saw that video. It was another baseball game, I'm pretty sure, because I remember someone filming and it was like a. It was just like it looked like a line of ants. And all these guys just start coming across the section and you just see them all migrating because they wanted to be where the tarps off were. And they just jumped in there and then they just like everybody left their section and went into that one part of the ballpark and just started joining in the fun, basically. I want to say that was the raise game because I saw that same video.
D
Yeah, I'm trying to find it.
C
I can't find the one guy that was up there and was like, I suck at fantasy football.
B
I did see that. I did see that. That's iconic.
D
Yeah, that's Wingo
C
Worth this year.
B
All right, boys. Well, that about does it today. Any final thoughts? Any final words for the people? As always, thank you guys all for tuning in.
C
Say a prayer for David in Uganda. Going to mitigate the war and calm things down over there.
B
Yeah, it seems like things are getting under control over There, man. He's like the Gandhi to the apes over there in Uganda.
D
He's a big deal machine gun.
E
Ceasefire. Ceasefire over there or.
B
Or he's going to be hung up in a tree one of these days and we're going to see the
E
crazy turn.
D
Honestly, I just. Honestly, just shout out to Andre for keeping a smile on his face. He's pumped money and money and money into this project and David's got no returns, no video content, no sponsorship deal possibilities, nothing, nothing. And Andre just keeps believing in the vision, sending them back out there. So shout out to Andre, honestly, thank you.
B
Thank you for seeing, leaving his guys
D
and, yeah, making dreams possible.
B
You know, I saw the vision. I'm like, if there's anybody that can control the chaos in Uganda with the apes, it's David. I remember back in the day, David, you know, hunting the. The dinosaurs in his backyard. So I'm like, he is the guy that I need to get out there. Oh, my God. All right, well, that about does it for today. Happy Friday, everybody. Happy Memorial Weekend. Long weekend, everybody. Enjoy the long weekend. It is going to be a great weekend. We're getting into that summertime weather, so if you're out on the lake, out on the boat, out on the beach or traveling, hope you guys all have a great weekend.
