Liberty. Liberty. Liberty.
Peter
Man, Start.
David
Well, I was gonna say good morning. It's not good morning. Good afternoon. Happy Friday. Happy Friday. Another episode of Guys Being Dudes. We're here, but before we start, we gotta play, you know, a. What's the. A tribute to Truck Norris, who passed away today. So a moment of silence. A moment of silence for Mr. Chuck, because it is a one of one person, that's for sure.
Peter
Chuck Norris.
Andre
Way to break the moment.
Bobby
That's one of the people you think's never gonna, like, never die.
Peter
But he's.
David
Well, that was my whole thing, right? Chuck Norris. His whole thing was that he was invincible. Right? And he clearly was not invincible. So, you know, rest in peace, Truck Norris. Your. Your legacy will live on forever. I think every. I think every TV show did a bit on Chuck Norris at one point. From SpongeBob to the Simpsons, SNL. Like, everybody at one point covered Chuck Norris.
Andre
Yeah. He's probably the most talked about person in the entire history of humanity. Yeah, like, in the sense of like growing up, you grew up with all those Chuck Norris jokes of like, you know, like, literally, it's like. Like it'll be the most absurd scenario. And then it's like, but Chuck. Nor. It's like the opposite, but it's Chuck Norris. Like, you know what I mean? Like, it's like. It's like, no, Chuck Norris didn't get hit by a car. He hit the car. Like, you know what I mean? Like, like, that's. Dude, that's. He's an absolute legend, you know, One of the best in the game, dude.
David
And. And.
Andre
And I actually saw a video today of. Of it was like his. His fight with Bruce Lee, like the. I forgot. I forgot the name of the movie, but dude, just an absolute icon, dude. Badass legend.
Peter
Listen, without Chuck Norris, Global Gym might still be around, man. Average Joe's would never got their chance.
David
That's true.
Peter
It wasn't him, man. Average Jones wouldn't have taken over. Thank you, Chuck Norris. Thank you, Peter. There's my movie. Quote for the day. Hondo's blockbuster.
Andre
Thank you.
David
Shout out. Shout out. Honda's. You got any Chuck Norris memories, Bobby?
Bobby
None specifically. I think like David said, though, all the one liners, you know, the, you know, Chuck Norris gets bit by rattlesnake, the rattlesnake dies. Yes, yes. Chuck Norris doesn't do push ups. He pushes the. He pushes the earth down, stuff like that.
David
Yeah. It is legendary. I just crazy how that even, like that phenomenon even began.
Andre
Like, how did that even. Who started that?
David
I don't know.
Bobby
Who.
David
Who was the guy that started that? Because that's what I'm most curious about. Legend. Legend. Legend. All right. It is March. It is officially March. It's been March for a little while, but March doesn't really start until March Madness begins. And we have officially started. I mean, and. And not only did we start, we started with madness early on.
Andre
Always.
David
And one of the biggest madness yesterday. Sorry to do this to you, Bobby, but the Tar Heels go down in round.
Bobby
I heard my feelings done in round one.
David
What happened. What happened with the Tar Heels yesterday?
Bobby
Yeah, I mean, what's supposed to happen when you lose, you know, your top three player in the draft and that's the only star you got. Also Hubert Davis. Get the hell out of here. Get the hell out of here. Like, people always defend Hubert Davis because he came from Roy Williams coaching tree. So, like, he's not Roy Williams. It's not the same. Also, mj, quit worrying about your NASCAR team. Come over here and pump some money into the nil. What are we doing here? We got the deep. We got this dude. We got the. We got the deepest pockets in all of sports. And you're letting Duke run around and get the number one recruiting class every year. Now I will say this. Duke damn near lost in Sienna. Duke has the number one recruiting class every year and they can't win. People want to praise John Shire and Duke and all this nonsense. They don't do anything with it. They're no different than anybody else. They get the number one recruiting class. They the bed.
David
We're gonna have to clip this when Duke wins it all.
Andre
Dude, honestly, Duke I think would have not gonna happen. Duke would have won by more yesterday if instead of two Columbus guys, they had a blind guy.
David
Oh, my God, this is a disaster. This guy's. The guy's gonna be the number one overall pick. What are we talking about here?
Andre
No, but, dude, the Duke. There was actually.
Bobby
Dude, funny enough, I'll go for Bobby. No, my dad's a crazy Duke fan. Like, real time Duke fan. Like, nuts. He just texted me, I swear to God, we're about to go live, and I have no time for this when my dad starts texting get away. Because he'll, like, send you 12 messages instead of one, like, paragraph. Just so you know, Boozer sucks. He can barely reach the rim. Good luck in the NBA.
David
Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
Andre
Bobby. Get Bobby's dad on right now.
Bobby
He said. He said, but they don't play defense in the NBA, so maybe he'll be okay.
Andre
Yo, he's cooking him.
David
That's crazy work. What would the Duke
Bobby
Blue Duke fan?
David
Yeah, that's.
Andre
That's crazy. My favorite. My favorite thing was when we were in San Fran, I got a chance to watch the UNC Duke game with Bobby, and at this point, I didn't even know Bobby's dad was a big Duke guy because I just. Bobby was a huge uncle, so I just kind of assumed. And this guy. This guy, the second that came in, starts blowing up his dad. Like, he's like, dude, you like? It was the funniest thing I've seen, bro. It was so funny. I'm like, that is a hilarious. Like, so your favorite team, just pure rival with your dad's favorite team is like an all timer. It's an all timer.
David
So. Yeah. How. How are you a uncle?
Bobby
The best part about that story.
David
Go, go, go. Finish. Go, go.
Bobby
No, the best part about that story is David, like, spelled dimension. We're. We're at a big event. We're at the Latin Sports Awards. Latina. Sorry, Latina. Me and David's in the corner. You know, like, we're walking around hors d' oeuvres on platters and stuff. And me and David's tugged off in the corner watching on my phone. The end of the UNC Duke game, UNC comes all the way back, never has to lead the entire game, hits a three pointer to win it all. And we're like. We're in the corner. We can't yell. We can't do anything. We're like, holy. So all I could do to get my emotions out was whip out my phone and Dave, David's watching me, and I go to dad and I say you something crazy. But, like, that's how that works. That's that. That's the Duke UNC rivalry. Like, and that's how me and my dad are, like, we're best friends. So, like, that's how we talk to each other.
David
But how. How are you a chapel Hill fan. And he's a Blue Devil fan.
Bobby
Well, I believe in Jesus. So that's. That's. That's the first. You know. No, my dad actually was a Carolina fan. He says when he was younger, he said he didn't like the way. I'm not going to get into all the details because some of it will get me canceled. But he didn't like the way Carolina played basketball and the culture. The culture they established. And I was like, okay, that's cool. Whatever. I don't know how you watch Jordan and then go, this is not for me. But anyways, he switches to Duke. He has a. He has a pretty big story behind it as far as, like, my dad was legally deaf. Deaf. And everybody told him that you need to learn sign language. He went to multiple hospitals. He finally goes to Duke University. The guy goes, no problem. The guy rebuilds his eardrums with chicken bone, and he now hears he's 60 years old. He can still hear. So after that, he kind of had a soft spot for Duke, and he's been a Duke fan ever since.
David
Okay.
Andre
Yeah, you should have led with that one. That's the one that.
David
I mean, that tells you everything right there.
Andre
I would be bleeding Blue Devil.
Bobby
Yeah, it's still Duke over here, buddy. They could have. They could have botched the surgery that could have learned sign language. I do not care. How about this one?
David
Oh, man, that's amazing.
Andre
I love it. That is.
David
I was not expecting that to be the story. That's incredible. But it was a great slate of games yesterday, right? Obviously, we got another slate of games pretty much all day today. We'll see what the madness looks like. I don't know. Do we have a game already on right now?
Andre
I think they start.
David
Yeah, right. They start around noon.
Andre
Noon.
Peter
So I also got a couple of the top bracket busters from yesterday. I got a little graphic here.
David
Oh, let's see it.
Andre
Yes.
Peter
Upsets. I mean, I don't know if you call number seven over number ten a true upset. I feel like that's pretty close. That, like, you know, I don't think you call it upset, but number 12.
David
Upset. Yeah.
Peter
Over number five is the most glaring of yesterday.
David
That High Point game was crazy. The. The Ohio State game was also crazy.
Andre
Game was great. I. I had Texas and Texas A M advancing in my bracket, so I. That's, you know, that was great for me. I. I was pissed. I did have UNC and obviously I did have Wisconsin, so I split it. But, hey, better than going healthy.
David
Split that's a healthy split.
Andre
A healthy split. But yeah, dude, that's the best part. I mean, obviously, March Madness, it lives in its own realm in the sense of, like, there's not as many postseason upsets as there are March Madness because it's a one and done tournament, right? So, like, you know, best of seven series is. It's hard for the better team to not win, right? In a one and done, you get caught off your game or somebody gets hot. It's anyone. That's what makes the tournament so special. And that's why, you know, everyone loves March Madness. Like, and I'm not even like a huge college basketball guy, like, in the sense of like, you know, during the season, I'm not really watching. Like, I'll pop on some FIU games here and there. Like, I'm not locked in like I am for college football or whatever. But when March Madness rolls around, it's like work and Doug.

Andre
You're going to the side. We're watching games from noon till midnight. All right?
David
It's three screens set up. It's the laptop here, the TV on over here, your iPad over here, and your phone over here. Like, it's. You're disconnected from the planet Earth because the only thing that's going on is college basketball. It is epic. The game that's actually going to be on now, which is an interesting one, is Kentucky, Santa Clara. Santa Clara is 10, Kentucky seven. Kentucky's three and a half point favorites. I can see Santa Clara pulling that one off people.
Andre
A lot of people like Santa Clara. I. To be. Hon. You know what's funny, though? Like, I, I think they can too, but I, I'm not, I'm not as connected to college basketball until March that, like, some of these, like, I would have never told you. Like, I couldn't name a player on. On.
David
Oh, absolutely not. But, like, it's a blind field thing. Like, I can't name one player. I haven't watched Santa Clara play all year. But I'm like, something tells me Santa
Andre
Clara, the vibe of it, it's like, you know what I'm feeling?
David
This team, it's the weirdest thing with no, no connection to anything. It's just like this weird innate feeling within me that says, if this is the upset, this is going to be it.
Andre
Yeah, I love it. You know, it's one for today that,
David
that I saw was Miami Ohio plays at 425 today. Can they, can they, they can. Against Tennessee. Tennessee's 12 1/2 point favorites. Can they, can they shake up and prove that they belong?
Andre
That's team.
David
Yeah. Or be like, oh, they had no business being any in here.
Bobby
Yeah, that's pooch.
Peter
No, Miami Ohio is different.
Andre
No, Miami.
David
Yeah. Oh, no.
Peter
Yeah.
Andre
But dude, Pooch, you, you, that's your boy, bro. You've been telling us for weeks, you've been telling us for weeks. We now have to talk about Miami Ohio.
Peter
For sure.
Andre
Yeah, I knew.
Peter
Higher on the bedroom at the ten o' clock slate.
Andre
Well, yeah, I mean, that's, I mean, I'll tell you what, Pooch, I mean, I don't want to put you on blast, but you did tell me right before we started recording you, you actually are a bigger Miami Ohio fan than the University of Miami. That's a, I don't know who you'd go for.
Peter
You showed up almost. You showed up late. First of all, let's, let's put, let's put the, let's put the meat on the table, okay? You shut up late. All right? You just walked in, strolled in, and I'm like, don't even say how to me. Sit down in a position. I know you make bad comments.
Andre
Well, listen, it's, it's, I, I did that because, you know, I, I, I was like, dude, I gotta, I'm worried about Pooch man, because, like, his allegiances have changed. It's crazy.
Bobby
What's with this guy?
David
What's on the line if, um loses today, though?
Andre
I have, I have them losing in my bracket.
Peter
I think it's ten versus seven. It's against Missouri.
David
I mean, Miami's one and a half point favorites.
Peter
Look, Miami's a good team. They're obviously like, we were talking about it yesterday, Jay, like, it's a very new roster. It's the first time that a lot of these guys are going to play together and seen like this. A lot of freshmen, a lot of young kids, I think they have everything, you know, they can to win. But I'm a big believer that basketball is one of those sports that, like, sometimes the Better team doesn't win. Like, yeah, have a kid shoot 13 threes and shoot and the team shoots 80.
David
He's already setting himself.
Andre
The excuse is already coming out.
Peter
This is a general basis, you know, we look at these upsets and stuff.
Bobby
Priest, how.
Peter
How does Duke go into a game with Sienna? I'm like, bro, Sienna's probably playing their asses off. And Duke was off a little bit. Like, basketball, like a 10 point lead in basketball is really nothing. You know, that's. That's five baskets, that's five possessions, and that can be in the span of a minute. So, I mean, this is one of those sports that's so hard to predict because you're really just depending on one team to be hot and one team, you know, one team to be not or just one team to get a couple more extra possessions. Like, it's really tough to really call this and like, really give predictions because you never know.
David
Yeah, that's for sure.
Peter
Like, no one thought that Bell was gonna go for 83.
David
You know, I will say this. I did Florida.
Bobby
Nobody. Nobody knew.
Andre
Wait, LeBron knew.
Bobby
Not even his mama. Not even his mama would have thought.
David
Florida is 35 and a half point favorites today against Prairie View. Any chance Prairie View covers that spread? 35 and a half, bro. I feel like the total points is 155. So they're. They're basically saying they're gonna win 120 to. What is that? To like 80? Basically, yeah.
Bobby
Like 115 to 150.
David
Yeah.
Bobby
Oh, no. Yeah, yeah, you're right.
Andre
Yeah.
David
35 and a half points.
Bobby
Yeah. 125. Yeah.
David
Yeah, that's a beat down.
Andre
I mean, listen, Florida, I mean, that's. Those are the defender. Chance Wingo's not here to defend, but they're very good.
David
90 to 55, basically.
Andre
But guess what? We're going to take the Perry Dogs money line today. All right?
Peter
Money line.
David
Oh, man, talk about a bracket buster.
Andre
That happen? That'd be the craziest one. That'd be the craziest one.
Peter
I feel like every. There's a Cinderella that makes a run super deep and then a Cinderella that gets to like the sweet 16 and loses. I think high point could be a Cinderella. There's not a second Cinderella yet. So who's that second one going to be? Could it be the Prairie Dogs? That's a.
Bobby
That's a great. That's a great segue because I was just sitting here about to tell y' all how, like, the biggest difference I see in these teams, like Sienna probably wins yesterday if they had anybody outside their starting five, like, the coach was not coming off the starting five, and that's what the problem is. These kids are playing 40 minutes a night. You better not go to overtime. By the time they get to the sweet 16, these kids are exhausted.
David
Yeah.
Bobby
So, like, that's the biggest difference is these small schools, they have to play their starting five, and, like, dude, you got teams like Duke that have, like, five stars sitting on the bench. So it's like, it's tough. You really got to put it together for 40 minutes.
David
Yeah. It's crazy. I wonder if by. By end of day today, if there's any perfect brackets left.
Andre
Dude, I'd be shocked if there's any perfect brackets right now.
David
I mean, that's how it always is. But there's always, like. I mean, the 98% will be eliminated usually by day one, because something crazy will go down like you. And even though UNC, in the history of March Madness, is not the craziest thing to go down in. In week one or day one. Right. But after day two, usually there's a huge drop off because you know for sure somebody's gonna lose. Right. Whoever that may be. And then, yeah, you might have. There's millions of brackets filled, and then they're like, yeah, there's eight perfect brackets left, and you're like, who the hell are the eight sickos that actually picked this?
Andre
Yeah.
David
You know, it's crazy. It's crazy.
Andre
It is crazy.
Peter
I feel like, in terms of brackets, even, like, the. The sweet 16, that's super impressive.
Andre
Yeah, for sure.
Peter
You just get the sweet 16.
David
Oh, my God.
Andre
Yeah.
Peter
And you don't get anything else, like, dude, that's freaking crazy.
David
Yeah.
Peter
To go from 64 to 16 and predict all of it by. By the time sweet sixteen comes around, I feel like there's maybe one or two brackets. Like, it's. It rarely happens, or by that time, there's no perfect brackets. By the time the round of 32 comes, there's nothing left.
Andre
Yeah.
David
All right. Well, before we wrap up, March. Oh, go for it, Bobby. My bad.
Bobby
According. It's. Yeah, I don't know. There's a. There's a lag, I think, across the virtual side. According to the NCAA.com, there is now about 30,000 perfect brackets remaining. Cool.
David
How many? 30,000. 30,000.
Andre
That's crazy.
Bobby
30,000 still in the game.
David
It's. It's a. I mean, it's a lot for, you know, for the amount of brackets that are perfect, but it's in the grand scheme of the amount that have submitted a bracket. And we're only basically day one in. Yeah, we're going to get to maybe. I would say it depends how crazy the day is, but like maybe 10,000 after. After day two. And I still think that's a lot.
Bobby
Yeah, you gotta think people are just pumping out brackets. People just like pump out brackets. So like, some people, like put 100 brackets into the field.
Peter
So, like.
David
Yeah. Where does March. Where does March Madness rank in postseason sports? Where. Where do you see it? Is it up there with NFL playoffs, MLB playoffs, NHL playoffs? Like, where do you see March Madness fit in in the whole grand sports?
Andre
For me, personally, I love Marsh Madness, I really do. But I don't like, I, you know, unless FIU were to make it, I don't have, you know, as of a rooting interest in terms of, you know, how much I intensely follow the Stanley cup playoffs I play. But in terms of quality, in terms of craziness, un. You know, unexpectability, if that's even a word. This has got to be up there with. With the top. Right. Because like one, it's. It's a whole. It's a long term. It. 64 teams are in this thing. It spans a few weeks and it's one and done. So it adds that, you know, element that like the, you know, Stanley cup playoffs and the NBA playoffs, for example, you know, the seven games series. With that being said, Stanley cup playoffs for me are like the greatest thing of all time. But this would probably rank up there for. For most people, I would assume. I think it's like the craziest thing.
David
Yeah. I mean, the thing is though, and I hate to say this, but none of our sports teams outside of the Panthers have really made the playoffs.
Andre
No, but like, even we've witnessed heat and even then, I think the NBA playoffs would rank pretty low on my list without.
David
Without your team in there.
Andre
Exactly.
David
Yeah, exactly.
Andre
But, yeah, I mean, the nf. The thing is, like, it also just depends on, like, because I can objectively see March Madness as one of the best postseasons, for sure. Like, I love March Madness. I really do. But, you know, NFL playoffs, while, you know, you can have a lot of stinkers in the NFL playoffs, unfortunately, but like, if the Dolphins made the NFL playoffs, there's like 100.
David
We talked about it last week. We did the whole ranking of everything. We're like, so, okay, how much does this even matter of like, Masters? It was like March, Matt, whatever the lineups were, how Much does it really matter if your Dolphins are making a playoff run? It's like you put everything aside and it's like, yeah, I want the Dolphins in a playoff run to the Super Bowl. You know, obviously when your team's in it, it just enhances it. From a general sports fan perspective, I do agree. I think March Madness is up there because of the volatility of what happens on a day to day, game to game basis. It's. Nobody's safe. No. Right. And it's. It, it. It tells you something. When the odds of making a perfect bra bracket, I forget what they are when they compare. Like, getting struck by lightning is a higher likeability. Higher possibility.
Bobby
Twice.
Peter
Yeah, twice.
David
Than getting a perfect bracket. That tells you something right there.
Bobby
I think to me, though, like, I like what y' all were saying. I grew up in North Carolina. Basketball is everything in North Carolina. Like, there's four schools that can win a championship every year, eight miles apart. And I just remember, like, me and six of my buddies on the couch every March, and we. I got two. I got two national championships in high school. So it really resonates with me. Like, I remember those nights hosting all the boys on my couch. Dude, we got a 64 inch TV when they wasn't even popular. Like, it was the craziest thing. And like, dude, watching those March Madness runs with the boys, we're all Tar Heel fans just going crazy, headbutting the door. Ty Lawson, Tyler Hansbro, like, those are the best times ever. So, like, to me, it's all relevant to, like, your team success. I do agree with that. It has a lot of weight and we're all invested in the NFL because, like, you play fantasy, everybody watches. You only got to watch one day a week to know everything about the NFL.
David
Right.
Bobby
So I think there's a lot more invested in the NFL, but for shock value and entertainment and like, that, there's just something mystical about March Madness. You just, you can't. If you could bottle that, I think it would sell more than any other sport.
David
Yeah. And I mean, you think you bring up the fantasy aspect. Right. The bracket is essentially an element of that. Right. And I think that's any sort of like, gambling game. Yeah, exactly. Gamified version of anything you could add to sports fanatics is just going to enhance the experience. And I, I think people, like, they build up, they build their bracket. They're so hyped up and you're just like, holy shit, my bracket's hot. Or, holy shit, my brackets busted on day one. You know, Elite. Elite. We're back. We're back in March Madness.
Bobby
I think the NBA is really. Yeah, I was just. I was just gonna say, I think the NBA's lost a lot of mystique when it comes to the. I remember when it was like, you know, Celtics versus Lakers, 2010. It's like, this gets no better. You got KG, Ray Allen, Rondo versus Paul Gasol, Kobe, Ron Artest, like Lamar Odom. Like, we don't have that. I feel like I don't even think I watched the Finals last year. I don't know if I've watched the last few finals.
David
Yeah, no, it's true. Yeah, I don't think so either. If my team's not in it, I ain't watching that.
Andre
Yeah, I mean, you know, the. The Heat. The Heat. The Heat run a few years ago. The Jimmy Bubble year. Well, bubble. And the one that we lost to the Nuggets in the finals.
David
Oh, yeah.
Bobby
Wait, who beat. Who beat y' all in that. Who'd be y' all in that championship?
Andre
Well, you know, Bam was injured, 83 beat Kobe, and he would have beat you guys, too, so. Bam and Georgia. You're lucky, Androgy. Yeah, you're luck. You're lucky. Yeah, you guys are lucky. We had two of our.
Bobby
Here we go.
Andre
Three players injured, and we still one. That's how embarrassing it is.
Peter
It's a small world championship.
Bobby
Get real.
Andre
Yeah, listen, but, like, that Heat run a few years ago was probably the most unexpected thing that's happened in the NBA in a long time.
David
Because we were underdogs in every game.
Andre
Yeah. Cuz like, even when, like. Like you mentioned Bob, the Celtics, Lakers. You know, the thing about the NBA is that you could almost kind of predict every year, two to, you know, maybe four teams that, like, are almost guaranteed to be there. Right. You know, that was. That was pretty shot. Everyone last year thought the Thunder, like, this seems like this team is unstoppable. Like, you know what I mean? Like, and they're looking unstoppable again. So I think what makes certain postseasons more special than others is that chance that really anybody could win. Right like that. You know, it's like, maybe we'll have a shock. We haven't really had a huge shock, at least in the NBA. And what feels like a little bit. It feels like the winner has kind of been predestined. Like, even the Warrior years, honestly, even the Heat years, the biggest shock was when we. We really. When we lost the Mavs. I guess I was. I Was obviously. Yeah. But like, you. You expected the heat to be there.
Bobby
That was the first year, though. Y' all had a little bit of.
Andre
Exactly. But it's more of like that expectation with March. Like, yeah, of course you've got your favorites. There's always favorites. But like, every year, favorites go down. Like, it's, you know, it's. It's. It's rare to have a team, you know, just be, oh, yeah, that's unstoppable. There's obviously, there's a few examples, like that Duke year with, like, Anthony Davis and stuff like. Like, that was like, okay, this team's probably going to win everything.
David
And they did.
Andre
But, like, it doesn't happen as often as other sports do. Yeah.
David
Yeah. All right, well, that about does it for March Madness today. We are done with the madness. And now we're going to get into real quick recap of our thoughts on the World Baseball Classic. Venezuela gets it done. Beats Team usa. Team USA makes it twice in the finals.
Liberty Mutual Spokesperson
And Doug, there's nowhere I wouldn't go to help someone customize and save on car insurance with Liberty Mutual, even if it means sitting front row at a comedy show.
Liberty Mutual Bird Companion
Hey, everyone, check out this guy and his bird. What is this your first date?
David
Oh, no.
Liberty Mutual Spokesperson
We help people customize and save on car insurance with Liberty Mutual together. We're married. Me to a human, him to a bird.
Liberty Mutual Bird Companion
Yeah, the bird looks out of your league anyways.

David
In a row, but can't get it done. Right. The. The big story is the bats for Team usa. They just wear a sleep all game. Unless your name was Bryce Harper. Bryce Harper had two of the three hits for Team usa. Pitching was great for both, for both sides. Obviously. Venezuela was great all game, but when, you know, when we needed our bats to show up, especially Aaron Judge. Kyle Schwarber. Right. I mean, this stack lineup, I forget what they said, but we had like eight all stars on this team. Like, we knew how talented this roster really was. But when you're three and four batters, I think.
Andre
Right.
David
I think judge or four and five judges.
Andre
No judge. Judges. Three judges.
David
Three short versus four. Right. So when you're third and your fourth hitter combined for six strikeouts in the championship game, it's a recipe for disaster. Yeah, right. Like, that's just really what it is. Right? I mean, shout out Venezuela. I mean, everybody's talking about how they. How, yeah, shout out grave is they. They definitely felt like they wanted it more. They Felt like it was just like a team of destiny a little bit as well. Obviously, like, we beat Dr. To get there. Right. Dr. Was the team. They had 51. They had outscored their opponents, I think, 51 to 10 up to that point. Like, they were just smacking everybody around. We kept them in check, which we also did that with a very good Venezuela lineup. Right. Like, our pitching kept them in check for the most part. Unfortunate way to kind of close it out. You. You let a walk in the ninth inning happen, and they end up winning the game off that one walk. Right. But we couldn't do it. And when Judge, you know, played the way he did and Schwarber played the way he did, the captains of this team, it's. I mean, you're not gonna win.
Bobby
Yeah.
Andre
No.
David
100.
Andre
And the thing to make it worse, too, is like. Like, the Venezuela pitcher, I think the starting pitcher.
David
Cabrera.
Andre
Yeah, Cabrera. He has like a seven or five to seven era.
David
Like, he's good, though. He is very good.
Andre
But what I'm saying is that, like, you know, you think you have a lineup like this, and it's like, you know, all right, you've got this guy, like, the pitch. The pitching advantage should have been to us. And, dude, he was lights out. Like, he. He put on a pitch clinic, I think. Yeah. And honestly, every pitcher that they brought out, we couldn't freaking hit anything except Bryce Harper, like you mentioned. So I thought they were going to pitch a.
Peter
No, no. At one point, I'm like, I mean,
David
yeah, it was bleak, bro. It was bleak. Like, nothing about that game was, like, going in our favor and, Well, I wouldn't say going in our favor. Just like, it didn't look like we even had a chance. Bryce Harper, we, like, you have to credit the pitching staff because they kept us in that game. Right? You're. You're watching that game. It's the seventh inning. You're like, you're down two. You're like, well, we haven't done anything, so it doesn't feel good, but we're legit a swing away from being right back in this.
Andre
Yeah.
David
And that's exactly what it was. Two outs. Bryce Harper hits a bomb center field.
Andre
That was so sick.
David
But, like, you know, my biggest thing. And Miami, it's just the dynamic of a Venezuelan versus an American, right?
Andre
Yeah.
David
Their energy is just insane. Especially, like, as fans, and we were out, we were outnumbered. Like, we're here playing in Miami, and, like, it was 7030, maybe 6040 in favor of Venezuela fans. But like when they scored runs, they're running out of the dugout, they're jumping up and down. Bryce Harper hits a game tying home run in the championship game. And like, yeah, they're out in the dugout, but they're just here like, I'm like, bro, I'd be tackling Bryce Harper
Bobby
to the damn floor.
Andre
You want to know why, Andre? You want to know why? It's because Aaron Judge gave another pregame speech. He doesn't get the guys hype, dude.
Bobby
Yeah.
David
I mean we knew that was going to come back and haunt him.
Peter
And after the home run, Aaron Judge coming to the play, I'm like, oh, he's gonna mash one right now. Just strikes out looking.
Bobby
I think he was, bro.
Andre
Yeah. Hey, Bobby, funny you say that because I had, you know, a few weeks ago I did, you know, the Mount Rushmore of losers and, and Judge.
Bobby
Yeah, I was here.
Andre
Aaron Judge was on that for the mlb. He's. He, he is. And it's not ne. It's just the Mount Rushmore of losers, if you missed that episode, are essentially guys who are obviously very good, right. That just cannot win. Like they just can't. It was Connor McDavid, Josh Allen, Aaron Judge, and who is the fourth? Oh, and Chris Paul,
David
like just when he retired too. Damn.
Andre
Yeah, I think he retired right after retirement. You suck.
Bobby
The thing about Aaron Judge is like, he should be great. Like he's built like a Greek God. He literally looks like he's 17 in a little league baseball lineup. Like he looks too big. And then he's like, you know, highs paid, New York Yankee, you know, beautiful guy, sucks, can't win. It's just like, dude, it's the word. It's the worst type.
David
Oh man, it is. Because like, statistically his numbers are ridiculous.
Andre
I mean, he's great. He's a regular season phenom, just like Josh Allen, just like Connor McDavid. You know what I mean? Like, they're, they're guys that are obviously very good. It's just something happens. Like it, they just can't step up to the plate when it's a high pressure situation.
David
And, and to be recognized as a great in any sport, people are going to remember you. Not necessarily just for your stats, like obviously only, you know, but it's going to be the moments, right? Like what do you do in the biggest moments of, of a sport, right? Like playoffs, right. Championship games, clutch moments. Just like the. That factor, right? Which is why mj, you know, will always be up there as one of those guys. Derek Jeter. Right. A Rod, Big Poppy. Manny Ramirez. Right. Like. And I'm missing a long list of a lot of names. Right. But those guys will always be respected, even though Aaron Judge's numbers are probably better than some of these guys, career wise. But you have to get over these hurdles and these humps because of the moments that you have the opportunity to showcase greatness and your list of people, honestly don't. They don't do that.
Liberty Mutual Bird Companion
Right.
David
Josh Allen will always be remembered because he plays a certain way and he's electric and he's extremely talented and does things that no one else can do. But when you look back, you're going to always question his greatness because he's like, damn, he didn't really ever get it done when he needed to. And it's a team sport at the end of the day, 100%, obviously. But, like, Aaron Judge didn't do his part in that game.
Andre
Yeah, listen, unfortunately, like. Like, we have one of the biggest examples here as Dolphin fans, right? As good and as amazing as Dan Marino was, a lot of people, when they speak about Dan Marino, they talk about him in the light of being the best player to never win a ring. And unfortunately, that's just how it goes. Like, if you aren't able to do it, it is absolutely a team sport, by the way. But if you aren't able to get that. That ring, it almost is like a knock on you. People always consider, like, people, you know, still have Damarino ranked In the top 10 players, like, quarterbacks of all time. But, like, I guarantee, if he had one ring, he might be in the conversation of three, three and four. And I think he's. That. I mean, I think Damarino's a goat, to be honest. But, you know, everybody's defense against him is like, well, you know, Steve Young's got this amount of rings and Joe Montana's got five. Like, you know what I mean? Like, that's how it always comes down to fair or not. It's the same thing with Jordan, LeBron. It was. It. No matter what, the rings will always be compared. So, like, it just. It's just kind of how it is. And he's. Again, he's great. Judge is great, but he's gonna have to. He's gonna have to win something to, you know, to kind of get this. This motion off of.
David
And another part too, like, in that. In that whole debate is. Is Bam versus Kobe.
Andre
Like, listen, listen.
Bobby
Yes, please go on.
Andre
Yeah, I mean, listen, let's hear your. Well.
David
Well, all I know is Bam got 83 and Kobe got 82. I mean,
Bobby
let's talk about the. All right, let's talk about those performances real quick. Okay. I've been on a cruise ship. I heard there was some glazing on the show last week. I heard there was some glazing last week. Listen. Yes, Bam did score 83 on the pop Warner Wizards, who literally, David could play for tomor. Shooting 45 free throws, freaking searching for foul shots, just running it up. Kobe was down 30 points in another country. Shooting fade away, threes double teamed in the corner, falling out of bounds, hitting popcorn buckets, brought his team all the way back. 1. This is not even a conversation. 21 free throw attempts, real scoring by a real legend. This was one of those, like, you've seen a unicorn and you'll never see it again. Bam. Bam had no business scoring 83 points. It's awesome. You don't discredit that. You don't take away from that. Like, you don't just score 83 like it's in history forever. Like, that does not go away. But the last person you thought was going to score 83 scored 83 points. You'd believe Kobe scored 81. No.
David
1.
Bobby
If you. If I told you two years ago Ben's gonna go score 83, you'd be like 83 blocks.
Andre
But.
David
But that's my thing.
Andre
I gotta fact check. I gotta fact check, Bobby, because two things.
Peter
Here we go.
Andre
One, get ready. They were down 14 points, not 35 points. Okay. In this game, they were down 30. Yeah. Because Bam was dominating from the start. You know, Kobe had to, you know, start a little later. By the way, you guys are playing the 14 win Toronto Raptors, so. What the hell are you talking.
Bobby
So we were down.
Andre
Yeah. And you were down to the Pop Warner Toronto Raptors at that time. All right, Bam.
Bobby
In another country, Bam dropped 30 something
Andre
points in the first quarter.
Bobby
Bam. Yeah, he had a good start. Kobe didn't turn up till second half.
Andre
Well, I know. Listen, that's. Whose fault is that?
Bobby
That's because real ones can hit that switch and go, this. I'm taking over, dude. Bam won't hit that switch. He watched Luca hit that switch in his home court last night, and he didn't do nothing about it.
Andre
And he was 23 points short.
Bobby
The courage. Then he had the courage to go to the mic and giggle and say, yeah, I know what that's like. Oh, today 83 you lost. He would never make a stupid Joke like that. Never make a stupid joke like that after losing.
Andre
Oh, man.
Bobby
Insane work.
David
I, I think, like, this whole Bam backlash, right, has been because he beat Kobe, Right? Of course, if. If he was anybody else that he would have be like, I don't know. I really don't know who it's. It's literally probably anybody but Kobe, right? It's like, Like, Kobe's obviously, like, a legend, right? I'm a huge Kobe guy, right. And happens to be that our guy in the hometown here, Miami, you know, does it. And, like, he's not the traditional scorer, but to me, that actually adds to it. Yeah, whatever. He shot 43 free throws. He had to make them. Like. Yeah, he got fouled also. He's not like, he wasn't getting fouled. I mean, what do you want the guy to do? He did what he needed to do.
Andre
Yeah.
David
And by the way, if you have 77 points in the fourth quarter, you're not gonna try to go for it. Come on.
Andre
Yeah.
Peter
No. Bobby wanted to stop out.
Bobby
That's what he did.
David
What?
Bobby
And that's what he did. Look, I don't care that he passed Kobe. I care that people like you, which are playing cool now, I, I know the group chat y' all been saying, make it about Kobe. Everybody knows it's not a conversation. If you want to say it's cool that he scored 83, I agree. You're not going to take that away from him. You don't just score 83 points. That is crazy. The second highest points ever. Like, that's not to be discredited. I want to be clear about that. But having an argument about Kobe, trying to say that this somehow makes things significant because of Kobe is the stupidest I ever heard in my life.
Andre
No. Well, the thing is, like, in this debate, Bobby, like, Kobe never got to 83, dude. There's nothing we can do about it. Like, there's nothing we can do about
Peter
was 83 in regulation.
Andre
Look at that.
Bobby
No, honestly, I know Kobe. I, I, I'm sure Kobe will be so upset that he'll have a little net, a net hanging off one of his national, you know, title championship trophies in his office. He'd be so upset. It's. It's tough. He didn't have that going for him.
Andre
I know, but, you know, he'll never have 83.
Bobby
You know, Bam's got that net hanging off his laundry. Basket dog.
Andre
Dude, you know what? You know, saying this, Bobby, last episode, that. That actually Bam is the highest scorer in NBA history because the Wolf Chamberlain game actually never happened until there's damn proof of that game that. That that game never happened.
Bobby
Yeah, so that's a good argument.
Peter
Which Will Chimney was playing against like. Like me and Dave. He was playing against the coal mines, and they're like, we have to guard Will Chamber.
Andre
He was playing the Toronto Raptors that Kobe played
Peter
Bobby.
Bobby
Yeah, but look, we had fun. We had fun and I made my points. But it's all. It's all a good love, Bam. Awesome performance. Hate that it was versus the Wizards and really didn't matter, but awesome performance. 83 points that they can't touch it. That's forever in history. Like, we're talking about championships and what people remember. You can't take it away, and it doesn't matter. Bam does everything right. He's a great player. I love Bam in his game, what he does bring to the game. So I don't. I don't want to see her and be disrespectful. I do like Bam, and it was incredible. It is awesome to see. I think somebody score 85 tomorrow. Let it be Bam again. I don't care. It's awesome to see records broke and Kobe would be happy to see it broke.
Andre
Dude, that would be the funniest thing. If Bam scored. I actually think the NBA Twitter would explode. Like, they would go crazy. And by the way, and it'd be even funnier if he did it with, like, more free throws. Like 50. It's 50 free throws. They're all free throws. 85.
Bobby
Oh, my God.
David
That would be insane.
Andre
I'm here for it.
David
I'm here for it. All right.
Bobby
That would be Actually be insane.
David
We got. We got some NFL news. Light, light NFL talk today, but, you know, one big news that happened, you know, here. Really, it's probably the biggest news in. In the last couple weeks was the Jalen Waddle trade that, you know, obviously was. Was huge told. Told you a lot one obviously of what the Dolphins are doing. But, Bobby, I'll kick it off to you. What were your thoughts when you saw that news?
Bobby
I'll be honest. It's weird because we're in the situation we're in. If we traded water last year, probably would have hurt a lot more because we're a little more closer to. Well, at least we think we're closer to, like, you know, being there this off season. Honestly, it. What do we get? Once I seen what we got, it was. I was a little hurt because I do love Waddle Waddle. I remember being in New Orleans On Monday Night Football when he broke the rookie record for receptions, people throwing popcorn at me because I was like, J Dub. J. Every catch. He had, like, 10 catches that night broke the record. I love Jalen Waddle. My wife probably heard me scream J Dub in this living room more than any other name. But timelines don't always match. And, dude, let's be honest here. When somebody offers that it's time to move on, it just is what it is. Their timeline allows them to make this kind of move. Kind of like we thought Tyreek and Bradley Chubb and all that was going to do for us. That's not where we're at. Lotto's going into going on 28, you know, and, dude, let's just be honest. A first, third, and a fourth. I mean, they probably get any player on this team for first, third, and fourth, so. And I'm sure we'll talk about that. I think a Chan could also be had for the right price.
David
Yeah.
Andre
Oh, Bob, remember when I said that on the dive bar? Remember? That was a hot take that I gave. I was like, like, you know, hn like him. I've. I've completely flipped it the script. I want a Chan to be here forever. But I agree with you. I think that he's absolutely. Like the report said that he's not. But I don't know, for the right price, he's available, too.
David
I think anybody's always available for the right price.
Andre
And I'm with you, Bobby, in the sense of I need to see what it pans out to. But face value, getting a first third and swapping force for Waddle I think is an incredible deal. I think it's one that we had to take in a. In a rebuild on a rebuilding team. So, yeah, I mean, I'm. I'm fully trusting this, this front office. New gm Bring us some dogs in this draft because we've got like, what I think it's seven or eight picks in the top 100. So let's see. You know, until I see what we do.
Bobby
7.
Andre
But. But I'm excited. A draft day is gonna. Is gonna be extra, extra, extra sick this year.
David
So I. I will say this. It was. It's. It's a. Interesting in the fact that basically the Dolphins are saying if we're going to be competitive this year, it's going to have to be in the draft, right? And it's going to be hitting at least five of those first seven picks. Because if you don't. Right, you went in and you got Malik Willis, right? Yeah. Are you tanking? I don't think so. Right. Because if you were, then you don't go get Malik Willis in my. In my opinion. Right. You try to not to say, like, Quinn's terrible.
Andre
Yeah.
David
You ride with Quinn and you see what you got there. You. You don't spend any money really, and you just ride that. Right. But reality is, like, they trust, obviously, Malik. There's a little bit of development that's going to go into Malik, and he should evolve year over year into being that quarterback. But when now you've traded your best receiver on the team, you essentially are saying, like, we're going to have to go draft those guys now and they got a hit to give Malik a chance, because if not, you're not really giving Malik much of a chance to. To. To win. And that's. That's my biggest thing. Right. Like, how does Malik thrive in this situation when you've basically shipped. If you ship Devon Hn. Yeah. Then really forget about it. Right. And yeah, you might get a couple of extra first rounders, too, and then you might be able to get a bunch of day one starters early on. But it is interesting to see, like, how well we draft, because if not, like, you're really setting up Malik for failure in this first year.
Andre
No, I'm with you. I'm with you.
Peter
The way I see this is, like, this draft is basically going to be the foundation of how this team is built. Like, this is your first draft with a new regime, new ideology. Like, really, these are the guys that need to be your horses. Like, this needs to be the. The draft class, you know, the seven picks in the first three rounds that you're going to lean on, you know, for the next two to three years. Like, and we were talking about it yesterday, like, how many do we need to hit on? You know, they don't have to be pro bowlers, but do it have to
David
be, like, they got to be day
Peter
one guys active, you know, starters, you know, good pieces that can, you know, go in there and make an impact, whether it's this year or next year. But I really think that depending on how this draft class is, is going to determine if this is a viable rebuild or not. Because every rebuild starts with that first draft class. And you see a lot of teams built through the draft. I think Seattle built through the draft. You know, Denver built in a draft.
Andre
You know, the packers usually do.
Bobby
Packers.
Andre
And that's who we got. So.
Peter
So this job class is really going to determine how it is and we said there's no real bad pick. There's so many holes in this team that you can go out there and. Best draft, best available.
David
Yeah.
Peter
And just ride with it. But I'm curious to see how they go. I'm curious how to see where they go this draft and obviously see who's there at 11, because right now it's very up in the air. Who's going to be up there at 11. It can go a ton of direction.
David
Yeah. No, I will ask this question. How much does this help Denver getting a guy like Jalen Waddle? Right. You see how they. Obviously we know the talent Jalen Waddle has and you know, the significance of an impact that he had on our offense. Right. But considering where Denver was last year, you know, Bo Nick's the guy there. They had a great defense last year. Does this really elevate them that much, considering the haul that we got out of it? That's something to think about as well.
Andre
I think so. In the sense of.
Bobby
Yeah, I think.
Andre
Oh, go ahead. I was waiting because I know there's a little lag, so I was like, like, let me see if Bobby wants to jump in first.
Bobby
I gotta start talking when Andre's almost done talking.
Andre
Yeah, yeah, yeah. But I, I do think it does. I think it's a great trade for. For Denver. Right. You know, whether they gave too much, you know, I'll take it. But I think it absolutely does help their team. I mean, their offense, Bo Nicks is really good. They've already got good weapons there. Right. You've got Sudden, you've got Franklin, you've got, you know, some of the guys who, like, you know, aren't necessarily a massive. Like, Sudden's a very good wide receiver, but the other guys are more like supplementary, like really good kind of gadget guys, some speedsters. But what Waddle does is Waddle gives you a really good one two punch in a division that is offense heavy in a division that you know to compete with Kansas City, the Chargers, like you, this is an added piece for them that I think does make them really like an extra. Extra dangerous, to be honest. I think they're going to be very good and obviously, you know, at Bo Nixon should be ready soon, by start of next year. But yeah, I, I think it's a good trade for both. Both sides. I think it does. Like, Waddle is. Is a great. Listen, I'm a huge Waddle guy. I've always been a huge fan of him. You know, kind of. Maybe he's a better Number two than a number one. But you know, with sudden he. I think he can kind of play off him in a nice way.
David
Yeah,
Bobby
Yeah. I think it's easy for us to sit over here and be like, man, I can't believe they gave us all that we fleeced. And we did, and we did.
David
Yeah.
Bobby
I want to be very clear, but I mean, who really cares about the price if they go in a Super bowl, right? Like, who really gives a. So, like, I think Waddle, it's easy for us to celebrate what we did. It was perfect for us. But I also think it was a perfect move for them. Like David said, the perfect. He's the missing piece to their offense. They have the big body. God, they have some role players now. You have an explosive, dynamic playmaker to take the top off to open things up. They got two good running backs. I mean, I think Bo Nix, if he keeps taking the next step. They have an incredible defense. I mean they literally were. They were playing AFC championship and really didn't get their ass kicked with a nobody at quarterback. I mean, they probably go to the super bowl, honestly.
David
True.
Bobby
So I mean, they're there. They should be making these moves. They should believe in themselves. And I think Waddle happy for him because he's. He's in a great situation, living in a beautiful city, another beautiful city. Completely different but beautiful. He's with his best friend Patrick Sartan, roommates in college. So I mean, dude, perfect situation for Waddle. So I really do believe this is one of those rare win, win wins. Like it's just across the board. I think everybody's going to be happy with the result if we hit on the draft picks. Obviously.
David
Yeah, it's a, it's a crazy phenomenon like for the fence too, right? You see who was on this team a couple years ago and how there's legit, absolutely nobody left on this team.
Andre
It's that Will Smith meme of him walking to the room and like looking around. There's absolutely nothing in the room. That's what it is. That's literally. That's me walking in. Being a fan.
David
I, I saw the like the mashup of all the moments where Waddle was saying, fits for the win, fits for the win. I almost teared up. Yeah, I was like, damn, man, that hit awesome, man.
Andre
I love Waddle.
David
But we move on.
Bobby
The one thing that hurts me that I've seen, the one thing that's irked me this week and I want to get Yalls opinion on this. All the talking heads I do agree. If you don't go and do something in the draft, then we could talk about this. But, like, all the talking heads immediately, what the hell do you sign Malik Willis for? Dude, you. You can't say that. And in the same sense, realize what we just got in return. We have a treasure chest of picks. You literally look, if we keep hn. You have Achan, you have a decent O line. Dude, they literally go into the drafts and add a playmaker or two and another offensive lineman. It's a top 15 offense. Like, what are we talking about here? Yeah, like, if Malik Willis is who we think he is and he takes another step, you have H and Malik Willis. Let's say you draft Kenyon Siddiq at number 11 or you trade down a little bit, or you get, like, Casey Casey or Omar Cooper Jr. At 30. Like, dude, it changes overnight. Like, we have seven top 100 picks, and I expect. Fully expect them to add one, if not two playmakers and another offensive guard in the first two rounds, probably. So, like, I just think it's crazy for people, like, what the hell are they doing for Malik Willis? Well, wait and see. We just traded for all these picks. We can't change it overnight. We have to use the pigs exactly like you can't. They're one hand. They're telling us how great it was to trade for these assets, and then they're saying, what are they going to do? Yeah, you just said it. We have seven picks in the top 100, and we'll do it again next year, next off season. We have $120 million, if not more, after all this deck gap goes away.
David
Yeah. Yeah.
Bobby
I think it just aggravates the out of me. It's like we haven't seen what we're gonna do.
David
Yeah, there's. There's two interesting things there, right? One is the fact that we have new gm, new head coach. Right? So new ideologies. So completely different way of drafting than we've drafted, you know, the course of the last, what, 10, 15 years, right? So it's a complete. There's a complete different level of trust now, Right? Because if we were sitting in this same situation, going through a rebuild with Greer, we'd be like, bro, how we. Like, yeah, great. We have seven draft picks, but it hasn't worked for us.
Andre
Here we go again.
David
Yeah. Yeah. So now it's like, okay, completely different system in place, completely different process in place where these guys are going to say, yeah, we got seven draft picks and we're going to draft our way, which is obviously the packers way. And one thing that I don't think we also realize is they're going to take more of a defense first approach, in my opinion. Right. Like if you can take some of that pressure off of a Malik Willis and that offense right where it was kind of the opposite with Mike McDaniel, it was like high power offense. You're going to go score 30 points and you're going to just score more points than what the defense gives up. Right where here it's like, let's build a badass defense. Malik Willis is talented enough to make the plays when we need him to, but we don't have to go score 35 points to go win a game. Like, we can go build a badass defense with these picks. Still get playmakers on offense. Right. To help Malik. Like you said, Bobby, we have a good enough offensive line. One healthy right. Go get another guy in the draft. But we have that flexibility with the amount of picks that we have. But I, I do think that this team has to be built from a defense first approach. Be really gritty on the defensive side so you could take some of that pressure off Malik and he can make enough plays at the end of the day with some of the playmakers that we can get Devon Hn being one of those guys and then go win games that way. Right?
Andre
Yeah. Get draft a bunch of dogs.
David
Dogs, yeah. Jordan Brooks on the defensive side, really good. Right? I mean, obviously, what's the evolution of chop look like? I still think we need a couple edge guys. We need interior guys on the defensive line for sure. You know, Sealer obviously is good. He. And not to say that he regressed, but we know what Sealer can be. Can he continue to be that captain and be that. That guy in the locker room? But it's corner and secondary, I think really, where, yeah, we have to focus on. And then interior on. On the defensive side.
Andre
Facts, facts, facts.
David
All right, well, that's it for NFL talk. We're gonna wrap it here real quick with a quick little hit before we get to our dude of the week. But baseball's right here around the corner. So I gotta ask you guys, what's the best tradition in baseball?
Andre
Oh, is it like just like player tradition or is it like, like team trip?
David
Because I. I would say more like fan tradition.
Andre
I And for me it's. I. It's an automatic dog. It's. It's getting a hot dog at a baseball game. I think that's literally a tradition in itself. And honestly, for me, it's that and Cracker Jacks. It's like. It's in the song. You know what I mean?
Bobby
Like, that, like, that's.
Andre
For me, me, like, that's. That's. I literally.
Bobby
He's not lying.
Andre
Every baseball game, I'm getting a hot dog and Cracker Jacks and peanut.
David
That's peanuts and Cracker Jack.
Andre
Oh, that's right.
Bobby
It's peanuts. Peanuts for me, man.
David
Peanuts.
Andre
It's a good debate. Peanuts versus crackers.
David
That is another good debate.
Andre
But, yeah, that. For me, that's. That's the tradition I like the best. Like, I don't know, it's kind of just a universal thing. I think there's. Every single ballpark in America has Cracker Jacks. And then obviously they've got hot dogs.
David
So I have something real quick on the. On the peanuts thing. So yesterday we were at the. At the Cardinals minor league game or spring training game, and I guess somebody in the stands had peanuts, right? And we were there. We had just walked into the stadium, and I heard this lady that works there saying, hey, Tom, Tom, can you go up there and tell that guy that he can't be throwing the peanuts on the ground because he doesn't realize that there's a hole in the ground, so all the peanuts are falling on the people below him.
Andre
That's awesome. That's is funny because when you go to baseball games and you walk through the rows, there's just like freaking peanut shell everywhere. Like, it's like everywhere. It's like everywhere.
Peter
Sesame seeds.
David
Yeah, that's in the dugout. Yeah. Not the sunflower seeds.
Peter
Yeah, sunflower seeds.
David
Yeah. Bobby, what do you got?
Bobby
Yeah. Yeah. I think that this is for football or baseball. Me and my dad, we go to a game. You just go. We get. We'd get a Mountain Dew and a bag of peanuts. It was a given. So I think that for sure, if you're playing. Yeah, dude. Melon Dew and peanuts. Dude. Every game we'd go. Wake Forest football games, because we live right near the stadium. And dude, if you're playing. Yeah, you got to have the sunflower seeds in the back pocket. Dude, it's.
Andre
I.
Bobby
If you're standing in the outfield, you don't have sunflower seeds. You're like, yeah, I'm about to up something up. Like this. Something's wrong here. I don't feel right. Something's off.
Andre
Yeah. Sunflower seeds are like big league chew. Like gum. These guys are chewing on something. Yeah.
David
I think big league chew Is elite, bro. Oh, my God, that sour apple. I'm more of a sour apple guy. But grape is good.
Andre
I'm a grapehead. I actually do the. I, I do grape as well. Dude, big league choose is elite.
David
I'm trying to think my
Andre
and Doug,

there's nowhere I wouldn't go to help someone customize and save on car insurance with Liberty Mutual. Even if it means sitting front row at a comedy show.

Liberty Mutual Bird Companion
Yeah, the bird looks out of your league anyways.
Liberty Mutual Spokesperson
Only pay for what you need@libertymutual.com Liberty.
Liberty Mutual Bird Companion
Liberty. Liberty. Liberty.
Bobby
That was probably like lower level baseball, maybe T ball into like, you know, minors. Then you, you know, you graduate into the sunflower seeds. You got to earn the sunflower seeds. But yes, for sure.
Andre
That or dip.
David
The concept of big league chew, right, like that stringy kind of just put it in your mouth is, is originated from like the concept of dip for sure.
Andre
Some, some can say bigly chew is a gateway drug to dip.
Bobby
It's misleading, that's for sure.
David
Yeah, that's crazy. I, I, you know what I would say for me, obviously, go with the classic dog, right? You know, the, the peanuts and Cracker Jack. All that is definitely part of the, of the cause. I would say, though, I don't know why the national anthem just hits different at a baseball game. Like Pac Stadium, opening day, sun shining like ballpark open. It's Wednesday at noon. Everyone's just not working.
Bobby
That's.
David
It's insane. Especially like when you go to places like Fenway and Wrigley. It's Wednesday at noon.
Andre
Yeah.
David
There's 40, 000 people in the stadium packed. And it's just, everyone's drinking and having a good time. Like, to me, there's just like a different energy, especially like opening day or just like a big baseball game. The culture is, is electric when it comes to that because it's like middle of the week and it's just packed.
Andre
It's. Yeah, no, I'm with you.
Bobby
I think one thing, you just go ahead.
Andre
No, no, go.
Bobby
I just think one thing you just made me realize, and you're right, is like the atmosphere, baseball is just different. Like when you're at a football field, it can be the most, the beautifulest football field ever, but you don't think about the grass. Baseball, dude, you got Your car, you got your hot dog, you got the smells in the air, you can hear the birds. Because it's kind of low key. It's chill, dude. This fresh cut grass, the perfectly combed sand, you're like, oh, yeah, this is it. This is it. You're actually right. That's something I didn't even think about when you really put yourself in that seat.
Andre
Yeah.
Bobby
Baseball's an entire. You can sit on the hill, dude. The hill is a whole different experience.
David
Yeah, it's a. There's a feel. I don't know what it is, but it. It is that the air is fresher, the sounds are crisper. It's elite.
Andre
Yeah. And then like on top of that, on top of the natural. Anthony, because that the national anthem for me, I mean, I get goosebumps at every sporting event. Like I said, especially big ones, like electric. Especially when you're playing Canada or something. But. But like also like to that point. The seventh inning stretch is also sick.
David
It is. It's like definitely up there.
Andre
Like, that's like a. Just a cool moment that. Especially if you go somewhere like a Fenway or Wrigley, like, it's just cool being a part of it. So baseball's got some fun traditions that. That kind of make it stand out.
Peter
Yeah.
David
Seven stretch, a couple beers in, you're probably putting your arm next to the guy that you have no idea who he is, and you're just swaying side to side, singing a song with this guy.
Andre
That's so true. That is so true.
Peter
Stranger.
Andre
Oh, man. We gotta. We gotta hit. We gotta hit. We gotta hit a game.
David
Opening day, March 26th.
Andre
I actually.
David
The Marlins.
Andre
I want to say I am going opening day. Actually, I'm going with my. I'm going my parents. Opening day.
David
I think I'm going too.
Andre
Yeah.
David
Yeah, I think so.
Andre
Let's go.
David
Let me see here real quick. Opening Day, March 27, 7:10pm at Lone Depot Park.
Andre
They're usually during the day, like, I remember, like, because my parents. My parents go every year to opening day and it's like always at like 3:00', clock, I'm like, dude, like, I can't really go, but. But like at night, seven o' clock night, that hopefully it's gonna be a nice night. So it's open. It's gonna be cool.
David
Marlins. I think it was last year or two years ago because of those like, like daytime games. They had a work from the park ticket.
Andre
Dude, that's sick.
David
It was like, I'm doing your laptop. Connect to The WI fi. And you're just. You're taking teams. You're taking teams. Meetings from. From the ballpark.
Andre
Yeah, dude, that's actually sick. Like, you're like on. Yeah, you're on a team. I'll call someone. It's a home run
David
Elite.
Andre
That's awesome. We do got to do green.
Bobby
Your green screen starts flickering.
Andre
Yeah.
Bobby
Andre, where are you?
David
I don't know.
Andre
Where are you?
Bobby
Your bookshelf is butchered. Oh, Andre, between those two books, there's a man eating a hot dog. Where are you?
David
Another this isn't a tradition, but iconic moments in baseball games is the dad that's carrying the baby in one hand, beer in the other, and catches like a ball with a beer in his hand. Yeah. Electric it.
Andre
Whenever that happens, whoever does that automatically becomes due to the week. Oh, that's 1000 Auto dude of the week. If you're catching. Catching foul balls or a home run with your beer cup and a baby in your hand.
David
Electric. I love that. Hell yeah. All right, well, let's get into our dude of the week. This week, obviously, with March Madness going on, had to find the moment from yesterday and a dude for a moment. So our Cosmo Tires cool cat due to the week is Chase Johnson, right? Chase Johnson. Yeah, Chase Johnson from. From High Point. High Point. Guy did not score a two pointer all season and then hits the biggest two pointer of his life to take the lead and end up being the game winning basket. Yeah. In. In March Madness. Electric.
Andre
This guy. I, when I first, like, heard the story and I was like, dude, we got to put this guy because he's the ultimate March Madness story in the sense of, like, you know, it's just these pure shooters. But this guy only shoots threes. Like, he like, legitimately will not shoot a two pointer. Like, it's like the most insane thing I've ever seen. Zero. And he shoots like almost 50 from three. And he's pulling up from the logo like they're down eight in that game with like a couple minutes left. And he's pulling it from the logo. Dude.
Peter
Yeah.
Andre
Like, dude's got stones. And it's just so funny that his first two point basket is the one that that gives them the lead and gives essentially becomes the game winner because it's just awesome. Like, it's. It's a cool, cool story. And if you watch his highlight tape go to the guys being dude's Twitter, it was shared there. He's literally pulling up from the moon like every play. Like he does not care. Like he's ice cold like that. And it's like you kind of always, you know a lot of these, like March Madness stories that involve these small schools and how these guys. It's a white boy who can shoot. And that's. And Chase Johnson. Welcome to the dance, baby.
David
Let's go.
Andre
So sick. So sick.
David
I mean, the fact that you don't ever take two and then that's your one.
Andre
Exactly.
David
Tells you all right there.
Andre
Yeah, exactly.
David
That's the madness right there. But.
Andre
All right.
David
Any final thoughts?
Bobby
I guess it wasn't all bad news for North Carolina.
David
No, no, it definitely was not.
Andre
Wait, I'm gonna be honest with you. I don't even know where the hell High Point is. Is it in North Carolina?
Bobby
High Point is in North Carolina. Yes, sir.
Andre
Hey, you can claim them, Bobby. You're a High Point guy. Now.
Bobby
Is there anybody that like David kind of touched on this, but there's nobody this. Every year we discover a kid like this in the tournament. He's like the epitome of that. Like, this is exactly who that is.
David
Yes.
Bobby
Also with his three point shooting, like, David was right. Go ahead.
Peter
That last year was that kid from Oakland. That all he did was shoot too. Yeah, but they made it super far too. But he was like a stud. He ended up beginning a. He ended up getting like a. Like a two way contract just because of his performance in March Madness.
Bobby
Yeah, it's always like a 64 white kid with the same haircut from a no name school. It's insane.
David
Yeah, I was. I was going to ask a dumb question. I'm like, where is High Point? In North Carolina, but it's in High Point, North Carolina.
Bobby
Holy. He's a boy.
David
Electric. Electric.
Bobby
Andre. Andre will be leaving us soon to bigger and better things.
David
Gonna become a. What is it?
Andre
A geologist or he's gonna be an astro engineer. Build the full spaceship to Mars.
David
Oh, man. Oh, man.
Bobby
I can see him over there on his phone too. He was like, where is High Point? Interesting. It's in High Point. It's actually in High Point. Like, what the.
David
That is exactly what happened. Exactly what happened.
Andre
Am Amazing. Oh.
David
Holy. All right, boys. Well, any final thoughts, Any final words before we wrap it up here?
Andre
No, I'm just excited to see what more madness happens. Excited to continue watching HOV at the Valspar defending champ and. Yeah, let's see, let's see. See, I want. I want another big story. I want. Because last year I think like March Madness, kind of the final four end up being all the big, you know.
David
Yes.
Andre
All the one seeds has happened in a while. Yeah. I want more madness this year. So let's get it.
David
Me too.
Peter
Any more final thoughts? I got one.
David
We got one from Pooch.
Peter
I got one. If you're local in Miami, don't. Tomorrow, Cosmo tires car show at Tropical Park.
David
Yes. Let's go.
Peter
From, from, from 3 o' clock to 9 o'. Clock. Tropical Park. Comfort survives. Visit the pit stop.
David
The Dracula pit stop. Yeah.
Peter
I will be there. We'll all be there. Domino's advice. Not gonna give out anything else. We got some surprises for you guys. So if you're local, you want to pull up. Got no plants. Cosmo tires car show. There we go.
Bobby
Yeah.
David
Happy Friday, everybody. Appreciate you guys for tuning in as always. And we'll see you guys next week.
Andre
