Start.
B
It's your.
C
Not going to lie. That intro gets me going every time. That intro is pretty lit, especially when we do a virtual like this and we can actually hear it. It's a whole different ball game. Wingo, how we doing, baby?
B
Fired up. It's Friday. Finally. Been a long week, you know, I know South Florida fans are pumped a chan getting extended. I've seen some Miami flags flying down the street again and a few of those popping up. So NHL hockey.
A
Right.
B
The boys in South Florida aren't watching. The Panthers aren't playing, you know, nothing with basketball. The heat has been gone a long time ago. They're probably in Cabo with the rest of the guys, but enjoying it. Some nice weather today. It's Friday, so can't complain.
C
Yeah, I actually been doing a bunch of yard work and I got a lot more once we get done. But it's a good day for it. I mean, for me, once you get into it, you can stay into it. It's kind of tough getting on the podcast now and then going and getting back dirty again because I took a shower. But if I get going on the yard work, I could do it all day. It's the get going part. But nonetheless, h hand finally got paid. Obviously, you work with deals and agency. Working for Drew Rosenhaus kind of give your perspective on the deal. I know that you was worried it wouldn't get done. I never wavered. I never wavered. I mean, it made too many, too much sense. 68 million since, to be exact. But what is your first, you know, reaction to the deal and the layout and, you know, the. The way it was wrote up.
B
Yeah. So my first thoughts are amazing.
A
Right.
B
The guy deserves to get paid. He was the guy they wanted to keep on roster. And I believe. I'm a firm believer that a chan wants to be in Miami. Like, that is the place that he wants to be. He doesn't want to be traded anywhere else. He's happy there. Although they're going through a reconstruction, figuring a lot of things out. He's comfortable with where he's at. Thing number two. Right. I haven't read his full contract yet. I was kind of reading it now, but obviously. Right. They have to restructure a lot of stuff with the cap space. And obviously, you know, after that June, they have a little bit more money to work with. But, you know, just off the bat, I'm reading things like, know, a base salary of only a million and then restructuring some bonuses and then kind of spreading it out. So that's Miami finding a way to make it work. And in order for Miami to make it work, that means Achan was willing to make it work.
A
Right.
B
And if he could have flat out been like, hey, I want my money right now. It needs to be this base salary. I want it put into a signing bonus or else I'm gone. And he didn't. Right. He was willing to let Miami restructure it, figure it out with the cap space, understood that they weren't in the best position to make those kind of payments. And, you know, it worked out so huge contract. The running back market is rising. Right. When you look at guys like John Robinson, Jir Gibbs, like those contracts are going to be next.
C
Jonathan Taylor.
B
Yeah, Jonathan Taylor, like these, these contracts are going to reset the market for. So for HN to get this done before even heading to camp. I know they're in phase two now. It is great for the Miami Dolphins. It's great for South Florida. It's great for a Chan. So I'm excited for them. They got their guy. They. They reloaded with Proctor on the old line. So they have a lot of moving parts and process and just excited to really go see out there what it looks like in practice.
C
Yeah. The biggest takeaway, and you kind of touched on it for me immediately, was, and this was my biggest thing, the whole process is getting ahead of those other three guys because I believe HN deserve to get paid. But it was only going to get worse and worse for the Dolphins. And who was it that got paid last week? Bree hall got paid and kind of bumped it up again, another million. And then you kind of assumed that, you know, HM was going to have to beat that one now. And they probably seen the writing on the wall too. Okay, we can't let this get any worse than it is. And to get that done before those other three juggernauts get paid was just a win for the Dolphins, in my opinion. HN gets his money. I do believe the Dolphins won though, because it could have got to the 20 million threshold. And I think before those three are done, somebody will hit the 20 million threshold. I believe also, I mean, the guaranteed money, and you can give me your perspective on it, but only 32 million guaranteed at a 17 per year. I mean, what does that really mean?
B
I. I'm not a big fan of that one. And, you know, I might be biased coming from, you know, an agency that does best at guarantees, but at the end of the day, the guaranteed money is all that really matters.
A
Right.
B
Just because you see the big contracts that are 120 million but 50s guaranteed, that doesn't mean anything, right? You never know when someone's going to get hurt or, or someone's not going to have the opportunity to touch the field. The way that these contracts work, right, they are game checks and they're spread out a little bit more now with the new structure of it. But if you're not. If you don't play on a game, you don't get the full game check, right? So if you're just missing one or two games, like that is deducting from your salary. So to have those things guaranteed is big time. I thought 32 was. Was very shy of what it should have been. You know, I feel like Miami really could have been, you know, assertive with it. I would have looked at Miami even having the possibility of lowering the total money and raising the guarantee because, you know, who's to say someone doesn't get hurt and all your money's gone, right? So I think, you know, in this, in this day and age, with the way sports work, there's always somewhere younger. There's always someone faster, wants it more, working harder. So to be able to get that guaranteed money and know that you're set for life is. Is ultimately the goal. So that's. I wasn't too happy about that one.
C
Yeah, that's. That surprised me because, like what you said, you. You don't really know that A Chan is even motivated to be here right now. He's in the problem of his career. He's a running back. This is going to be the more likely than not the biggest window of his career. This is going to be the. Where he does his best work. And then the Dolphins really ain't got anything to play on the field right now. So he, he knows he's signing up for that. You don't know that he even wants to be here. So we're thinking, I mean, you even went as far as thinking maybe it doesn't even get done. And then he gets a. He lets him have a fair deal. Like he doesn't not only give them, you know, signs an extension. He probably helped the Dolphins out more times than one in this whole process, in my opinion.
B
So looking at it as an organization level, if I'm the gm, my thoughts and I could be going out on a crazy limb right here and just talking a bunch of crap. 32 million guaranteed, right? That's necessarily like almost two years of his contract. I'm a firm believer that what the Dolphins want to do is have him for those next two years and then go and sign or draft a running back, in my personal opinion. That's what I think. I think HN's going to have a really, really strong next two years. But looking at Halfley and these guys, you know, they want to get into a program to where they have a really good managing aspect of the cap space. In order to do that, you have to limit the guarantees so that you have a way out, you have a buyout to where okay, now looking at it, HN can play two years. He's going to get that 32 million guaranteed, but then we're going to have some of that extra money if we're able to trade him or move around depending upon what the dead cap situation is going to be. So I think that is ultimately the decision upstairs and where they're having a little bit of leverage to be able to make something work if it doesn't work out for both sides.
C
We got David with us now, you know, you know, showing up late, doing whatever. Birds chirping in the back, birds chirping in the background, you know. But David, we're talking about Devon hn. Welcome to the show. How you doing?
A
I'm doing great. I did want to. I obviously I jumped in late, but I was listening a little bit. I love that Wingo dropped the part of the agency that does guarantees the best. I wanna, I just want to note that that was a great, A great drop, but no, I'm doing great. I, I didn't get to listen to the full conversation. So I don't know exactly where you guys stand in terms of the. The contract. I'm just happy that HN staying in Miami, he's an absolute difference maker. And I actually on record. Bob, remember this? I went on the dive bar during the trade deadline last year and openly said that we should look into trading a chan because we could potentially get, you know, a crazy haul. I regretted it instantly and I'm very happy that he is staying in Miami because he is a legit stud.
C
So may or may not be a coincidence, but David has not been back on the dive bar since, so.
A
Yeah, it's weird. My invites keep getting lost in the mail. Dude, it's strange.
B
We sent it to Uganda.
A
Exactly, exactly. I gotta send you my updated address, but. Yeah, no, it is. That is. That is a funny coincidence. Bobby, thank you for bringing it up because now I'm gonna start pestering you to get back on.
C
Careful what you ask for. We're pumping right now. We'll put you.
A
I love it. I love the episode with Cam the other day. So if you haven't seen that, go check that out, because that was awesome. Hell, yeah. Oh, yeah.
C
So the schedule come out yesterday. I'm not gonna lie. Boys, obviously, we're gonna start with the Dolphins because that's closest to home, and we know most about it.
B
Yeah, man.
C
You struggle to find four wins on that schedule. If you're looking for a. Hey, look, hey, it's a rebuild. It's a rebuild. You're not supposed to be counting wins right now. That's not the point. But, boy, if you want to be in that top three next year, you're happy. Four wins on that schedule, if you're looking. Jesus Christ.
B
I wasn't even touching the computer. I don't know what happened.
C
I was cooking so fire that it played it twice.
A
Yeah, I'm with you, though. That. That schedule is. Is brutal. It is a brutal. There's a few brutal stretches there. You know, starting the first two. First two weeks on the west coast coming back. I think it's Chiefs week three.
C
Yeah.
A
Like, it's, like there's no break. I. I don't think we've got a break in this one. And obviously. Listen, I'm. I want to say, I go into every year expecting amazing things. Obviously, we are in, like, you mentioned, a full rebuild, so, you know, I'm not expecting much, especially with this schedule.
C
I think.
A
Well, I think we have the second. I think it's the second hardest schedule in the NFL, so. Yeah, but listen, what I will say that if we don't. If we do go 17 0, it's because we have zero prime time games.
C
So that's the one big win.
A
The one big win.
C
And we were live with Braden Fahoko last night when this dropped, and the one thing he said that I really didn't think about, but it's. We all know the curse of being on prime time. As Dolphin fans, we do not live up to prime time. But also, you got so many. And Wingo's gonna love this because he's pounding the table about this. You got 44 minimum guys. You have who knows how many rookies because the class is 13. But we got so many UDFA guys that might get make. Could make this team this year because of the lack of depth or talent. You have so many rookies now that if you look into that schedule, you're going, okay, I can put my nose down this year. I can go to work. I can take my lumps and we can get better and that's a great win for them as well. So I, I really love the no prime time games. We don't deserve them. So that, that's fair, I feel.
A
I agree.
B
And the biggest thing I'm looking at is like some of these games obviously are going to be some, some may not be comfortable for us, but if we're starting to see flashes and competition and guys going, you know, toe to toe with some of this top talent in the NFL, some close games, like that's really only the only thing that I want to see, right? Like can Marco Wilson go out there and line up next to pickins and, and do a great job? Like can Caleb Douglas go catch a big time touchdown on some of these big time corners? So those are the things that I think we're looking to see O line especially like can we see A Chan moving the ball consistently? Can we see M Malik Willis not turn the ball over, make consistent throws down the field, have explosive plays? I, I think that's going to be the tale of Dolphins excitement this year and it's not going to be about those wins on the record. It's okay. Do we see a future? So I think the schedule sucks. Not, not, not the biggest fan of
C
it, depending on how you look at it.
B
I'm excited to go to New York for the new, the jets and, and Miami game. You know, that'll be a fun one. But, but ultimately, you know, you just got to show signs of hope, give the people some hope.
C
David.
A
No, I'm. Listen, I agree with everything that you guys have said. It is brutal. But to that point, Bobby, right. If it, it really does depend on what you're looking for in a rebuild year in, in the case of, of, you know, we can next year's class, right? Just looking ahead is a very good draft class. Just some of the big names depending on what, you know, what type of players you're looking for. So I think it's a mix, right? You know, if we get, if we can get a better draft pick in a, in a rebuild year, obviously that is preferred. But I do still want to see flashes. Like I obviously don't want us to eve also just turn over and, and roll over and die. You know what I mean? Like if we can, if we can compete and show something for me that you know, will give me that hope that, that glimmer of hope that we are on the right path to, you know, hopefully on a, on a more successful rebuild. So, so yeah, I'm kind of, I'M on the same boat.
B
And then this is the last thing that I'll add is this season is gonna build a locker room. Me saying that, you know, my understanding is, you know, last year, in the previous years, you know, with all the losses, you got guys on big time contracts and I'm excluding right A Chan and then Sealer and a few other guys here and there. But, but you had so many guys on big time contracts or extensions where they felt comfortable. So if they lost, right, it was, oh man, I'm going out on the yacht tomorrow and going to hang out and have a good time.
C
Right.
B
Like you said before, 44 guys on minimum contract, right? Tons of rookies that are going to get playing opportunities. They know that if they don't at least show that they can compete in the NFL and show their talent and improve that they're not going to have a job. They're not going to be able to afford, you know, a living. So I think that's going to build opportunity, it's going to build grit, it's going to build leadership in the locker room. And that's really what you're looking for, right? If you can go in the locker room, know that you lost, understand that you lost, find the mistakes, find a way to fix it. But at the end of the day, realize like not laying down like you said before, David, right, Like, hey, you know, we just played the Chiefs, we lost by six, but you know, we really battled, we moved the ball well, we had limited turnovers, you know, great yards on offense, great yards per catch, you know, yards after catch. Those are things that are exciting that we can build on top of. And we get in the locker room and it's frustrating. Yes, you lost, but at the end of the day it's like, hey, we're making strides, we're making steps. Let's go and improve on it next week and keep this ball rolling.
C
And it, it doesn't even have to be like a shitty thing to say. Like the last few years is always, this has got to be the year, like put up or shut up. Like so much pressure and expectations and like Wingo said, the money, all these guys getting paid, you trade for these dudes, first round picks, we got to do something or everybody's going. It's, it's, it's kind of nice to sit here and not be being an. Just be like, look, there is zero expectations. Let's, let's see what you can do. We don't expect to win a lot. It's not on the team, it's like, look, this is where we're at. And honestly, I'm looking forward to it. I'm looking forward to seeing, you know, that brutal stretch and how they handle those, you know, those waves of advert of adversity. Jesus Christ. Start talking Spanish. Jesus Christ. Those waves of adversity, you know, like we are losing games, but you know, Malik Willis has the guys lining up correctly. He's running a smooth operation. The offense maybe puts up some points, but, you know, the defense is also giving up a lot of points. So there's a lot of things you can look at and like draw from. The rookie class is growing continuously down the stretch. You know, things are getting better as the season goes on. But I will say if we haven't won a few in the first six weeks, that last 12 is not giving up much. So we're gonna have a good idea. It's not gonna be a lot of guesswork to like where this thing's headed and, you know, where we might be in that draft.
A
Yeah, 100%. I, I, I do want to touch on one last thing. In terms of the, the schedules, I want to get your thoughts on it. What are your guys thoughts of the way that teams are releasing these things nowadays? Right? I don't know. I, I haven't, I think you're gonna say, well, well, because I want, I want to talk about a couple of the ones that kind of stood out to me yesterday and maybe I didn't get a chance to see them all, but like, everyone talks about how good of a social media team the Chargers have, and they really do. Like, whoever's running the Chargers account is actually insane. They're the best. The Charger, the Raiders did, did a very good one with Mendoza and Kirk Cousins that I thought was funny.
C
Step brothers.
A
Yeah. I thought, I thought I got creative. The Finns. I'll tell you what, the Finns have notoriously been terrible at this. I, I thought the one that they did was pretty fun with Rick Ross being Ross. Yeah. So. But they're wingo. Let me know if this is what you were talking about, because it was funny. I saw the report that the NFL was going to monitor closely if anyone was going to make jokes around the Patriots situation. The Chargers did. The Chargers did throw some subtle jabs at them, which was great. I don't know if anybody else took bigger swings, Adam, but I know the Chargers for sure had like, I think they had like, like they were doing this halo thing and they, you notifications were popping up and they were getting messages from the New York Post like, like in there when they're playing the Patriots. Like, it was, it was clever. I. I got. I gotta give it to him. But. But yeah, I don't know. I think it's fun, but I, I like how some teams really go all in on it and, and as, as a fan, that clearly is. Is not playing for the Super Bowl. I get excited for stupid social media things, but.
B
But that's my thought about blowing up Bo Nix's ankle.
C
Oh, yes, they did do that.
B
That's right. That's what I was.
A
Right.
B
It was the Halo thing. And they, they threw whatever. One of the sticky bombs on. Yeah, whatever Halo guy right on his ankle and he went flying. It was bone nicks. You know, I'm. It's about an injury. It's kind of a little, you know.
C
Yeah, that one's tough, so I don't
B
know about that one. But it is cool that they do do stuff and, and you can look forward to it. It's all, you know, how the world works right now. It's all about, you know, social media and excitement and bringing hope and getting the fans going, you know, mocking on someone's injury. I don't know about.
C
Yeah, I don't, I don't know.
A
They're animals, dude. They're savages. The Chargers team is savage.
B
Yeah. But the Patriots one is kind of funny with the notifications and you know, maybe they could use like a big time play or which stuff is great. But. But I love that, that they do stuff like that. And I think even other. Other places should. College football should. Other sports should. Because it gets the people excited, honestly.
A
Yeah.
B
I don't know if this is the same for you guys, but in previous years, I have never been like, oh my God, I'm excited for the season to drop tonight at 8. Like, I've never been like that. I've been like, I'll see it when I see it or whenever it comes out.
A
Yeah.
B
But like now them doing like a whole thing is pretty cool. But I was busy last night getting ready for Drake's album to drop, so
A
I. Oh, Iceman win goes the Iceman, baby.
B
I love it.
C
How did I know you light skins are all the same, dude? Holy.
A
Oh, man. Did you listen to the album though?
B
Like, yeah, I've listened to it twice. I. After the show, I'm gonna do one more time to really narrow down my. Narrow down where I'm at.
C
That's the Drake. It's a Drake fanboy. Quota. You gotta listen to it at least three times straight when it first drops, if you. Or you're not legit.
A
I gotta tell you what, though, Wingo. Drake's going at LeBron. Dude, where do you stand on the LeBron Drake situation?
B
No, really, I'm just focused on Anthony Edwards right now.
A
He's moved on. He's moved on.
B
I don't know, man. Drake is Drake. He's enjoying life, doing his thing. LeBron, I don't know. He's probably sipping red wine somewhere on the beach and killing his body. What a guy. What a guy.
C
Another thing the Chargers did with the schedule release, and it's funny because Mike McDaniel's there now and had a lot to do with this, but nonetheless, they made jokes about the Dolphins dead cap, and we were in tank mode. So that's pretty cool.
B
Yeah, that's nothing. That's like a stab to the chest, right?
C
Yeah, it's like. Yeah, his advice for that one, they were like, what are you thinking here, Mike?
B
When in doubt, let's just pick on the Dolphins and the jets and then just. And just how Josh Allen's never made the super bowl, and it'll work out.
A
Yeah. Hell, yeah. All right. We could. Do you guys want to transition to some. Some golf talk? Okay, cool. Because I basically look like I came from the course, which I did. And early morning.
B
Better than what Bryson DeChambeau's been playing like.
A
Well, I didn't, but. But yeah, it's. It's this PGA championship, I will say, is playing tough. Like, we've had this conversation on the. On this show, like, where, like, do we prefer the guys going low birding everything, or do we prefer a tougher test? And holy cow, is this one providing a tough test. I mean, the leaders are still three under. Like, they ended three under, which is pretty. You know, it's a. That's a low score for a first round leader. It's still there. We are halfway through round two, and the leaders are still three under. This course is giving an absolute test, which I love. But. But like you mentioned, right, there's a lot of guys struggling. Bryson six over day one. Rory, four over day one. Unfortunately, my guy Hovland is absolutely exploding eight over right now, midway through his second round. It's. It's getting ugly. Scotty was plus three through four today. Like, it was. It's. It's playing tough, and I love it. So it really opens the door for anybody because, like, the grouping between the leaders and guys who are not even under Par is still only four, and, you know, you still got a whole weekend of golf left, so I love it. I love how tough it's playing. It's showing its teeth. And, and these are the tournaments for me that I love because the pga, out of all the majors, gets like the most disrespect because, you know, everyone talks about the Masters and then the US Opens on Father's Day, and that, that one is a really tough test. And the Open Championship, just being in another country, the PGA is like kind of the forgotten child of the major. So I'm glad it's showing its teeth and, and making these guys struggle it.
B
So I, I love seeing good golfers play. Like, But I'll tell you this, I'm going down the leaderboards. You know, how I normally find the guys that I want to see is when you see the little circle with the, with the triangle. That means like, you could watch their specific group. Yeah. Bryson DeChambeau doesn't even have one because no one wants to watch him right now. He's playing a bunch of trash. But it's amazing that it leaves the leaderboards wide open for guys, you know, seeing someone like Scotty Scheffler do it every single tournament where he plays like crap and then comes in the last day. But other guys have opportunities, right, to make a run at it. And it's great to see, you know, and I allude this back, we talked about this a few weeks ago, how hard golf actually is. And you realize these guys are playing back to back weekends. They play four rounds and they're walking the course out in the heat. You know, one of the things that I was explaining to someone the other day is, you know, they're like, how do they know how far they are? Like, they don't get a range finder. Like, I'm out there with my range finder. Okay, I'm 130 out. I'm gonna use pitching wedge, right? Like, these guys are like real professionals and knowing, you know, distances and these caddies, the slopes and all these different things. So, I mean, it's great to see this tournament that, that's so wide open. Excited to see what happens. I do like that it's low because when we're seeing these tournaments, when they end at like 25 under, it's like, that's like me playing basketball on a, on a six foot hoop and just dunking everywhere and like, like, that's like, come on now. Like, let's, let's, let's make it a little difficult to wear, like. So it's cool. Guys have opportunities. Playing good golf, getting a few shanks here and there, missing putts. So I feel. I feel for them, because that's how I feel. So welcome. Welcome to the club. PGA players.
A
Dude, we gotta. We gotta do. We gotta get around in, like, us four. Well, I'm saying four, because on Andre, not here. Wow. Just, you know, just. Let's. Let's talk. Let's talk. Andre, we should. We should get on. We should get on the course. Like, that would be great. We gotta fly Bobby down, obviously. We'll hit him on the pj, and then, you know, we'll get him down here and we'll play the Rosenhouse.
C
Pj. That is.
B
I knew that was coming.
C
Yeah. Anyways, I'll see you kids later. Boys, Drew's outside. You know, you mentioned watching good golfers play, like. Well, if you tune into that, you can watch a shitty golfer David play, like. Yeah, so that's very good point going for us also. I'll be shitty. So while we're there, let me admit that I also play like. But you did mention these guys have been playing every weekend, so that's a good segue. How do you feel. How do you guys feel about them stacking signature events like this? It's been, like, week after week right now. Me, personally, I. I kind of think you got to break it up. I mean, I do understand, like, wanting to capitalize on the dead period. And this really is kind of golf's period, if there was one. So I do understand kind of, like stuffing it down people's throat. No pause, but no Paul Son. Drake. Sorry, that was. I called for. I just felt good, though. I do feel like you should break
B
it up a little bit right now.
C
What do you say?
B
LeBron's in Cabo right now, right?
C
That's your guy. Dude, chill. Like,
A
what are you talking about? Those guys. Anthony Edwards, bro.
B
Yeah. The truth. Tune in the truth's plan tonight, and then.
A
And then. And then tomorrow is going to be 1B.
B
I'm gonna order Anthony Edwards jersey right now.
C
Yes. Look, we're gonna get to the NBA talk. We're gonna get. I was about to go all in on NBA dudes. Chill, chill. We'll go into it right after. I think they should break it up a little to try to, like, you know, one. Not to, like, wear people out. Also, like to keep it more relevant through the course of the year. I mean, like, dude, they got like, dude, it's been an awesome month, but it's Also, like, at this point, like, I'm not even tuning in. I'm not even reading up on it. I'm not looking into it. It's like we've seen the best of them. It's like if they did the super bowl and it did the regular season next. It's just kind of. It's kind of strange to me.
B
I don't think the golfers are going to want that. I think they want to be able to, you know, dug it out once and go back to West Palm and Jupiter and play calm golf and their wives at the country clubs and drink some transfusions. But you are correct, I do agree with you that, like, I don't tune into as much golf because it's on every single weekend and it's like, it's normally the same guys and they're exhausted. These guys are probably dead. Like, your arms are tired and, and, you know, you can't play great golf every single time you play, like, take it. I play bad golf. When I play good golf, it's like Super Bowl. So I understand. I understand where, you know, you're coming from on that aspect. I do think they should, you know, split it up a little bit. Well, there's got to be some more push on the social media aspect or something, because I'm not even really seeing much. I saw more about the NFL schedule release, like, in the past week than I have about the PGA tournament, which is baffling.
C
Right?
B
Like, we got to do a better job there. You know, maybe Saudi's got to step in and, and do something because they got some. They lost money, but they got some money to. To spend now.
A
You know, shifted to the tour.
B
Yeah. Oh, Carpet.
C
What's up?
B
He's back.
A
Garbage dinosaurs in the chat. I love it with.
B
With Bobby Not. Or not Bobby. Gosh, now you threw me off with Liv. Not in the aspect anymore. The PGA doesn't feel worried. And, And I think that just gotta change.
A
Yeah, I'm, I'm, I'm with you. And in terms of, like, they definitely got to spread it out because one, like you mentioned, the viewing experience of, you know, obviously the back to. Back to. Back to back, like, signature events. You know, listen, as a golf sicko, you love it, but also, like, you have to realize that these guys are not just playing those four days. They're starting on Monday and they're getting practice rounds and Pratt, they're playing basically 21 at this point. At this rate, if you make the weekend. And actually the signature events are no cut so you're playing through basically, like, 21 days of golf, and it's like, oh, no, boohoo. Dude, that is tiring as hell. Like, and mind you, they're walking all these cores like, they're not, like, out like golf car driving around. Like, yeah, dude, this is not bad at all. Like, dude, they're walking everything. Like, it's. It's tiring. It's. It's exhausting. And I think that that could be a factor into some of these scores. Right? I've seen. Not everybody gets into the signature events, so. But, like, the guy, like, the top dogs, like the Brysons, the. The Rory's, you know, they could just be tired at this point. Although I will say
B
50 shots on the practice, that's true.
A
And Bryson's. Bryson's on living, and he's getting tired from his YouTube career. But. But, you know, the other. The guys on Tour, I mean, like, Cam Young, for example. Cam Young's been playing incredible last weeks. He's still playing well in this term. I believe he was, like, one under, which is right in it. But, dude, he's going on, like, day 20 of a. In a row of a golf bender. Like, eventually it's going to catch up to him. And so I would prefer to spread it out so that you can make more of an emphasis on these tournaments where, like, obviously they've. This is going to be the third major tournament, or not major, like, major, but like, third big tournament in a row. And like, maybe, you know, be like, all right, you know, you know, know, we've tuned in the last two weeks. Maybe they're tuning out. I don't know. But the PGA Championship, I agree with you, has not had the legs in terms of the marketing side of it. Then, you know, obviously the Masters is bigger than anything, but that's why you got to put more into the pga, because if not, not that many people are going to watch. So I think it's better to spread it out, give these guys a little bit more breathing room.
C
And.
A
And I think the quality will enhance.
B
They got to take a look at some of these TV views, because I think they're definitely down. And then the other thing that I'm going to kind of pitch at you is I'm taking the. The route of, you know, if I'm a guy like Rory, and Rory did this to win the Masters, right? He stopped playing in some tournaments so he could personally fly to Augusta Play and get dialed in. So if I'm a top golfer like that, and I'm not really worried about the money anymore. I'm worried about these majors, championships. I'm going to look at the schedule. I'm going to pick a few of them, you know, all the big time ones that I want. And, and I'm going to only specifically play those. Other than that, I'm going to fly there and play by myself, fly here, so I can train, focus on myself to win every single one. Because there's going to come a time where somebody's going to win Masters, pga, all these ones, all in one year. And it's going to come from not playing every single tournament, every single week. So I feel it coming. If I was a guy like Bryson, I need to take a big step back because I don't know where his, his golf is. Golf game's been going lately, but I think his body is just exhausted.
A
Yeah, it's funny you said, because actually Rory didn't. Well, Rory played last week, but he did skip out the Cadillac this year. And I think that's also a thing. Right. Like, if you stack so many of these signature events, some of these big guys are just gonna not show up. Right. Like Scotty, for example, did not show up to the truest last week, week. And he actually did that. Wingo, he played this course, I think Sunday. Like, he got an early head start on the week. So, you know, I can see that happening. If you keep stacking them, people are going to just opt out of these, some of these tournaments and, and try to get a head start on the majors. So I think they should just spread it out for the, the sake of the game.
C
So Wingo said this, and I'm saying this, but I'm also asking you guys, is this like, considered their season or is there also like a normal season of golf?
A
No, this is their season. This is. Yeah, like, this is their, like right now. So essentially they're. There's basically four Super Bowls in a year. In the sense of the four majors. The Masters this weekend, the US Open and the Open Championship. Those are the ones that are worth the most. And realistically, to be honest, if you want to be remembered as a great, those are really the only ones that count. Like, like people. Yeah, sure. Like you can win signature events. Like, I listen, I'm a big time Victor Hovland guy. That is my guy. He's won the Memorial, he's won, you know, he's won big events, he's won the BMW Championship, yada, yada. But he hasn't won a major. At the end of when People retire. They only look back at how many majors did this guy win, and that's what you are judged on. So, so it's kind of a strange way, but what the signature events do. The signature events are. Are essentially kind of like. Like a playoff in a sense of, you know, the purse is like $20 million. So, like, you're playing for way more money. They do that to enhance these guys to play in all of those specific events. And it's really for the top dogs. And I saw somebody put Ryder cup in there. Yes, the Ryder cup is a massive, massive event, but it's every two years. So it's more of a. It's basically like, like, it's. It's equivalent to like an Olympics type event because it is country. It's US versus Europe. And then technically. So I know I just said all that, basically having four Super Bowls, there technically is a playoff and a Super bowl in the sense of the FedEx cup playoffs and championship. But it's done in such a strange way, right, that, like, it's not a. A real playoff. Like, you can't consider it a full true playoff like that. So it's kind of strange. But really, at the end of the day, the majors matter more than anything. And so if you're a golfer, these are the tournaments that you want to win if you want to be essentially remembered as a great.
B
So I, I think that. I think you hit it on the head with the fact that if you're not winning a major, you are not considered. And that takes me back to Rory, right? If you look at someone like Rory, with him not winning in Augusta, right? It was, oh, he's the joke. Or we're talking about 2011. He can't do it. He can't this. And now he want it. And now guys like, okay, he's in talks with Tiger Woods, Scheffler, and then he's the number one golfer in the world. And it's, it's, it's just, It's a true F statement, though. Like, yeah, if Josh Allen never wins a Super bowl, can he be. Can he be in the hall of Fame? No, it's not going to happen.
A
You know where he is going to still be? The Mount Rushmore of losers.
B
There we go. It's true to the fact if you're not in a ring, if you're not winning a championship right there, there's things and debates where it's like, hey, were you really the greatest? Were you really the best in your sport? If you couldn't when the lights were on and the big moment was there, you pissed down your leg. Right. So it's either figure it out and win a championship or just continue being like Josh Allen. Yeah.
C
I will say, though, my perspective changes a little bit as far as feeling bad, at least for, like, the girl and stretch, like, if this is considered, like, their season, then, like, hey, that's your season. You got to do it. Like, the dude, baseball's playing 100 plus games. The NFL is straight physical chaos for three months. Like, it's just the way it is. So if this is considered the season, that it makes a little more sense. But it's just. It's just a weird layout. And like you said, too, it's such an outlier, too, because, like, it's hard to really debate it or, like, compare it to any other thing because it's so different.
A
Yeah, no, I'm with you. It is. It's unlike anything else. So Bobby never told us hers.
C
That's any show I'm on, buddy.
A
Yeah, yeah, yeah, dude, Real quick, because
C
he said that and because, you know, I love to double down. Braden Foko was on the show last night, and he was saying how, like, you don't let Joe Burrow in the playoffs because he can go win at any chance he gets it. Like, if he gets in the playoffs, Joe Burrow can go win that thing, and the league knows that. And then he said, you know, Josh Allen, amazing, amazing quarterback. But. And I thought this was an elite reference. He'll always have that green goblin mask looking over his shoulder, telling him to do some dumb when he chokes. AFC championship.
A
Listen, by the way, I. That's a great. That's a great analogy, and I love that take. I will say, though, Bobby, I don't want to let Joe Burrow off the hook, because Joe Burrow, if. If this whole thing, if you don't let him into the playoffs and he wins, maybe he should try getting in there. What is it, four years in a row? Thank you. Yeah, I think. I think. And this. Is this all. There's two things that this stems from. From one, one of my best friends is a Bengals fan out of freaking nowhere. So I know way too much. I know way too much about the Bengals. And. And I hate them. Like, honestly, like, out behind, right behind, like, the Bills, Pats and Jets. Like, it's the Bengals for me. I hate them anyway. That's why I say that. But also, I think Joe broke. Is his. He's a PR machine. I mean, I've never seen A guy miss, miss so much time and then also missed the playoffs so often and be still be in the conversation. I think Lamar clears. I, I, I, I, Everyone tries putting Joe Burrow in the top three. No, wait your turn, buddy. It's, it's, it's, it's for me it's still the big three is Mahomes, Lamar, Josh Allen.
C
For right now, I think Burrow is a dog. But like yeah, people do overlook the fact like I say this every chance I get. If you think TUA is injury prone.
A
Yes, thank you.
C
Burrow has the only quarterback who's missed more time than TUA is Joe Burrow. Yes. Yeah, but look at his haircut.
A
Hey, look at, look at him at the Met Gala. Dude, I don't care. He's got more outfits than playoff wins. Dude, get out of here.
C
I hope everyone does well.
A
Yeah, his outfit, his shirts don't even have backs on him.
B
Dude.
A
He's going bare back. Dude.
C
One thing we did talk. We're not going to turn this into a but one thing I will say though to his defense, like him and Jamar, they, they hum when they're out there that they're lethal. I do think the Bengals just, the Bengals in general deserve slander because dude, that roster construction is like the only roster construction worse than the Dolphins. Like it's like Chris Greer was running the Dolphins but like part time in the Bengals. You know what I mean? Like I'm full time Dolphins gm, but I'm part time Bingo's gm. And because their roster really does suck ass. Like they can score 35 points and lose every week. Like it is one of the worst roster constructions I've seen in the last few years. So that, that's, it's something to talk about, but we don't have to talk about it.
A
Yeah, we'll say we'll save that for, for a full NFL discussion. But wait, let me see. Willie. If man, if man, listen, I, I, I'm also with you. I, I listen, I think Herbert also has a very similar PR machine working for from I both I think, listen, I obviously think both Herbert and Burrow are good players. I just think that they're sometimes talking in, in a sense that is like great. By the way, don't get me started on Drake May. All right, you don't want to go. Let me go down that rabbit hole. We're gonna have to move on before I go down the Drake May rabbit hole. But, but, but yeah, I don't know. I, I think that they get talked about in this. In this light that I. I think that they need to be knocked down a couple pegs. But with that being said, let's move on. NBA playoffs.
C
All right.
A
We. We kind of were talking about the NBA a little bit in that. In that part. Winga, you want to kick. You want to kick us off at the NBA?
B
The truth. Stop playing with the truth.
A
Look. Oh, my God.
B
This man has. I give him props, right? He is stuck to his identity and his confidence since day one one.
C
Yeah.
B
I mean, he. He goes out there, and everyone knows the. The famous video of when Barack Obama was there, LeBron was there, all these guys were there, and he goes right up. He's like, I'm the truth. Like, I'm really like that. And he stuck to it. And I think, you know, he's a guy who. Who has the moxy around him, who plays physical. He plays that LeBron style of basketball where he'll go up and get it. He can make those shots. He's a guy who can be a leader. So I think that's what they're really, you know, riding behind. But it's also the fact, you know, when you look at the last series, I think maybe it was game one where he was injured and came in, scored 19 points, and then the series before, he wasn't even really playing. They. They closed out the series without him. So I think. I think that team is doing really well. The spurs, obviously, just being an elite team. You know, Wemby is just an alien from another moon, so it's like you can't. You can't really do much there. But, you know, I think the truth. I'm waiting for him to make a push because he deserves the new spotlight in the top of the top of the mountain.
C
All I'm saying is I did not have Wimby with the people's elbow in my OMA bingo card. That. That threw me off, man.
B
Dude, I don't think he meant to do it.
C
Of course you don't. Of course,
B
everybody, dude, Wy is a gentle giant. I genuinely think that he's just so big. He was thinking he was throwing elbows, and he's not realizing that his elbow was the same height as most people's base, so. Because if you look at the reaction from his teammate, even his teammate was like, oh, dude.
C
The guy in the background's like, yeah,
B
I don't think he meant to do it. I think he was finally just trying to be physical almost like. And just elbow the guy right in the face. And you Know, unlucky. You know, don't be nine foot ten. Like.
A
Yeah, but my favorite thing about it, too, is, like, all the discourse around it, it's like, can you imagine if this was Draymond Green? Like, Draymond Green would have been like, Oh, all right. Honestly. Okay. This just popped in my head, so this is gonna be kind of a pivot. No, no, wait, wait.
C
No, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait.
A
No, but. But, no, I was thinking of Draymond Green. Did any of you guys watch the Kevin Hart roast?
C
Yes.
A
Okay. What? I. I want to get quick thoughts, because dream, obviously, Draymond was on. I don't know why I just popped up. Dude. Some. They went hard. Dude, that. That roast went pretty hard on. On. On certain people. I. I thought it was funny as hell. Maybe we can say that for debate of the week or something. If any of you would even set up, sign up for a roast at this point, because. Because they go freaking. It's death deadly out there, dude.
C
Dude, honestly, you just gave me the next idea for the dot bar. Anyways, moving on.
A
Yeah, that'd be great.
B
Yeah, that'll be the final show.
C
Yeah, I. You can't even talk about it because it might get canceled right now, so. Yeah, that. That would be electric, actually. I would absolutely sign up for it. But I do say, like, they're all good sports, right? Because some of the. They say. You're just like, no way. They're taking that one. And they just keep rolling. It's like, oh, okay. So suicides on the table got you.
A
Crazy. Crazy.
C
That was why they tripled down on that lady.
A
Yeah.
C
And she, like, was laughing her ass off. I'm like,
B
what could you do? You know, in that moment, like, you're surrounded by cameras and other people, what, are you gonna stand up and be, like, freaking, what's his name? And go up there and slap him? Like, there's nothing. Because regardless, if you're in the right for going up and slapping somebody, you will be a meme forever, regardless, because, oh, you got your feelings hurt. But even though it was, like, kind of. Kind of messed up, what was. But you know how the world works, so there's not really much you can do there.
C
You also could tell, like, how crazy it was because Shane Gillis had to keep reminding the crowd, like, look, I called her beforehand. I would never say this if she didn't know about it. Like, I called her beforehand. So, yeah, they.
A
I mean, they approve. What? Yeah, we. Sorry. Sorry to go on that tangent.
C
We can talk about it.
A
Again, yeah. All right. So sorry. Back to NBA. All right, we got the truth. The tr. They're playing tonight, right? It's, it's game. Yeah. Truth in the Alien game 6. I know the Knicks, the Knicks already advanced and the Thunder already advanced, so they're just waiting to see who they're gonna play. I, I will say my pre playoff pick of the Cleveland Cavs coming out the east, they're, they decided to heat up because the pit I thought, I mean the Pistons kind of dominated those first two games. All right. Yeah. And then boom, three straight wins for the Cavs. They have a chance to close out in game six. So listen, if you got, if you guys of these two game sixes, which ones are you? Which one? I know which one Wingo's most excited to watch, but I think, I think both are going to be great. But is there one that you guys are really looking forward to?
C
I think two different animals, right. Like the Pistons and Calves were trying to climb up to be in the ranks of relevant teams. So that's a cool story. But like look, let's be honest here. They're, they're not on the level of the T Wolves and the spurs right now. And let's be honest too, okay. See's waiting on whoever they're going to slap around. So like I still believe that's the case. But I would say T Wolf spurs still get way more street cred. But it's cool to see like the Pistons and Cavs, you know, doing their thing kind of the Cavs, you know, being relevant without LeBron now and then, you know, the Pistons be irrelevant since like what the malice.
A
Yeah, so like that's, that team was actually sick. But yeah, I'm with you the West. Listen, I mean we said, we talked about it a lot in the beginning. Like the west is the side that we believe not only has the best teams, but I would be shocked if the east were able to pull up. The east was always going to be a grudge match to see who comes out. It was always the way just to get, just to get smacked by the West. But I am excited to really watch that Game six because I mean, listen, I, I, I picked the spurs to go to, to win the west, so I'm obviously rooting for the spurs. But dude, I'm, I've been extremely impressed and I, I shouldn't be impressed at this point with the Timberwolves because they've been able to do this the last couple years where they just are a really nice team. Led by the next up and coming. Not really up and coming. He's already here, the superstar. You know what I mean? So, like, I don't know. I think, I think that team is, is, is, is stacked. So, you know, I, I, I'm. Listen, I'm hoping that they push for Game 7, because I think that'd be electric.
B
So I, I don't really care about the Pistons and the Cavaliers. That game is kind of just irrelevant. You know, I'm more focused on the truth in the alien. And obviously you got the juggernauts of the Knicks and, and, and shy over there with a Thunder. So, I mean, I don't know. I think those are, those are the, the three teams that are really, really elite. If the Cavs can close it out tonight, right. I don't think that there will be much competition. You know, I think if. Really, I, I don't think the Cavs can hang in because look at these guys. They're hanging out right now. Like, the Knicks could have went to Cabo and came back for, for the finals. And the Thunder, they're just, like, laughing their ass off and having a good jolly old time over there. So, I mean, that, that also could be a negative. And we don't know.
A
Yeah, rest versus rust.
B
But, you know, I, I think that the determining factor is going to be between the alien and the truth. Right. Who kind of prevails out of that, and then that's going to be the team that's in real competition. Because I don't think the Cats have what it takes.
A
I gotta, I'm kind of sorry about jumping real quick. I've done the opposite take in the sense of. Not the opposite take, but I don't, I don't see the Knicks as a juggernaut. I think they're playing very well. Don't get me wrong. I just think the East. I don't see a juggernaut there. So I, Dude, I wouldn't be shocked if the Cavs could. I think the Cavs can beat the Knicks, granted. Would I guarantee it by any means? No, because the Knicks are playing way better than anybody else in the East. Like, I don't think that, like, the Thunder are juggernauts, the spurs are juggernauts, and even the, the, the Timberwolves, I think you know what I mean?
C
Also do this every year. Like, they get hot as for the playoffs, and then they don't do nothing with it. But, like, yeah, I think they're a good team. Like, they're a solid team. They're a really deep team, but you're just going to the.
B
What?
C
You're going to the championship, whoever you are. It's already over for you, buddy.
B
You guys are forgetting one key detail about the Knicks. Here we go. Listen. Algaib is in the building. The sidelines, court side, You know, everyone's bowing down. He's got the building fire up. He missed. What was it? He missed the awards to go to the freaking Knicks game.
C
He missed.
A
He missed the Met gala. He missed. Ben Stiller. Fraud. Fraud. Watch. Ben Stiller went to Met gala and
B
locker room like this pregame.
C
Dude, I can't believe you giving him a speech. Fired up. Damn it. Honestly, I can't believe you let Winger steal that from you. I'm a little disappointed.
A
No, no, no. Wingo got me. I. I am all in. Now the Knicks, they've got. They've got a power that. That cannot be controlled. And that is. That is Timothy Chalamet, the hottest man on earth, man.
C
The hottest man on earth.
A
That's. That's the goat right there, dude. That's. It's him and Tom Cruise. My kings, dude. My cinema Kings.
C
That was pretty. That was pretty cool to see him skip that to go just wearing regular clothes and sit on the sidelines like. That was super cool.
A
One of us, dude. He one of us. He's courtside with.
B
With
C
one of us. That just maybe I'll be a little
B
bit more up in the stands, but that.
C
Yeah, because you'll be in the Rosen house suite. Yeah, for sure. Anyways. Yeah. You don't sit with public. I got you.
A
Yeah.
C
Anyways, that just made me realize this is the only time you'll call a man average in one of the people for sitting court side and $30,000 seats.
A
100%. 100%.
C
What a humble king.
B
He's leading us to the promised land. That's awesome, by the way.
A
But.
B
But if the truth loses, I'm on the Knicks.
A
Okay. All right.
B
I love it.
C
Oh, there was the truth of the alien.
B
I'm not an Alien fan. He's just like a freaking nature. You can't really get excited about him. He's just big.
A
How about sga dude, the foul merchant. I don't know.
B
I don't like his smile.
C
I'm out on him, man. I think he had the ability to be one of the coolest all stars we've ever seen.
B
I agree.
A
Yeah.
C
And he's wasted it, much like James Harden. And I don't have to get into it.
B
I do know James Harden. Still played. I thought he retired.
C
James Harden's like, That's what I'm saying, though. The. The legacy was there for James Harden. This dude was like, he was on that trajectory. It's just like, no one really, like, dude, you got. There's certain things you do to really take that last step, and these guys just always fumble that part. And I think SGA is right there in that conversation. Like, he just. He doesn't have that. For me, I don't love. I'm not waiting to go see sga. Like, I really think he could have been one of the coolest all stars superstars and done a lot more than he'd done with his opportunity. And I really think he's. He's squandered it away. And some of it might be the fact that The Thunder have 27 first round picks. And it just is what it is. Legacy's kind of tarnished no matter what there. But. And dude, Lord forbid they would have won the lottery again and went up there and got another dog. Like, holy, there's. I didn't even still have first round picks in the lottery. They still got them. Dude, this is nonsense, bro.
A
They own like, they own like everybody's first round pick, so they. Every year they have a chance. It's crazy, crazy, nasty work. Yeah. Well, with that, unless you guys have anything else on the NBA, I do want to give a quick, quick shout out to. Oh, go for it, Bob.
C
Yes. I just want to say one thing. What do we think? Sorry, I got a nasty habit of chewing on caps. Anyways. Sorry. You're perfect, Wingo. Anyways, do we actually believe that there is a world that LeBron James would just ride off into the sunset without a farewell tour? No, people, we could have just watched LeBron's last game. Now we can have this debate. I don't think that's a debate. I'm glad you guys agree, so I won't even hold you to it. I just think that's the dumbest I ever heard. One of maybe the greatest in the conversation. So it doesn't matter. We don't have to have that debate either. To play the game is just gonna just, like, turn into a stay at home dead, and you're never gonna know about it. Like, no, that's stupid. As he's gonna get his farewell tour. He's gonna get his flowers. With that being said, could this have been his last game as a Laker?
B
Bronnie's contract is up.
C
I was thinking about, you know, getting another. Getting another Running made over there, you
A
know, I don't know. I, I, I don't think. Listen, I, I'm with you fully on the. He's playing another year. I think he's going to end his career as a Laker. I think he's just, I think in terms of, just at this point of his life, like, to, to root up and go somewhere else, I guess. I mean, the only one that would kind of make sense is if like, he, you know, he'd make that one last return to Cleveland. But he kind of already did the return to Cleveland thing. You know what I mean? So at this point. Yeah. So, like, where's he gonna go? Like, I, I mean, listen, I'll take Braun, don't get me wrong. I'll take Braun back.
C
Here we go.
A
But, but like, I don't know. I just, I don't see him leaving. I, that he's an LA guy. He's his family. You know, he's in the movie business now. He's got his shows. Like, I don't know. I don't see him leaving. I see him doing a farewell tour in LA next year and probably. Yeah, that, that's as far maybe. And listen, that doesn't, I think they could. Absolutely. If he takes like the vet minimum, it would be smart to do that. Like, like, if he really actually wants to win. Because you can bring in, you can bring in another superstar. You know what I mean?
C
The fanboy in Wingo, but also the agent. We go like, vet minimum, son, we gotta talk about it.
A
It's true, though. If he wants, bro, the guy's a billionaire dude. Brother, he's a, he's a, he's a billionaire dude. He can take the bet minimum.
B
He's very cheap. He doesn't spend money.
A
That's what I'm saying. He doesn't need. He doesn't need. If he wants to actually go out on top. One last hooral. One last hooral. Bring in another superstar for and between him, Luca. Another superstar. Austin Reeves, like, they could have.
C
That was my next question, actually. The one thing Kobe never did, and don't get me wrong, that's his right. He never gave the Lakers a discount. And at the end of his career, when he wasn't good enough to go win a championship, we couldn't do anything until he moved on. It was like, we're paying Kobe top dollar. Kobe's not Kobe no more. Even though it's awesome to have Kobe. But it just held us back. It was like, love Kobe, but it's like, we're not going to compete again until Kobe's gone. So will LeBron do what no one's ever done is basically what you're asking and take a discount to help a team and stay home? We'll see. I mean, I do think it'd be smart. I mean, there's a loaded free agency class. There's ton of superstars that have never been available to possibly trade for this offseason. Austin Reeves has already said that he'll opt out and let you go chase that guy and then reback up. I mean, there is a situation there where you could do something crazy. We'll see. I mean, I feel like we have these conversations every year like this guy's gonna opt out. And so this could happen. The only time it ever really happened, it worked, was Miami. Wade opted out, Bosch came in, LeBron came in, then Wade re upped afterwards. And you can go over the cap in the NBA if it's a guy you already own the rights to and they had weight already. So there's ways that you can do crazy in the NBA. Wingo ahead.
B
I think the Lakers need to draft Chinlu from Florida to play some defense for the Lakers. Another physical guy, somebody who, you know is a Draymond Green, but I think better. I'm saying that now. I think he is a Draymond Green, but better because he can play a little bit better offense and he just doesn't have the personality of Draymond Green, where he's gonna get flagrant twos and get caked out. I think with LeBron, obviously, basketball is turning into something to where there's not much defense being played. So if you have a team that can fire on all cylinders, be like the. What was it? I don't even know what year it was. The old spurs with the ball movement as well as, you know, the warriors shooting the ball. And I mean, I guess I'm just saying a super team of what everything'd be great at. But. But just adding some defense, I think to the Lakers is something that they were lacking. And it's hard when you look, it's playing like a team, like the Thunder, right? They were shooting the ball really well. It's hard to, you know, really win games when teams are shooting that well. But eliminating points in the paint is long term how you're successful in basketball. And a guy like Chin Lu could come in for the Lakers and eliminate some of that stuff and that'd be very well for them. But do we see LeBron being like, going to the front office and be like, hey, I'll take a pay cut so you can go get somebody. But he's gonna also be like, oh, I want to pick. Like, he's. He's definitely part of that conversation. The Lakers are waiting right now. Like, they know. They know where they're at. They know LeBron is there, and Bronnie wants Bryce now to come out into the league and all this stuff, and they're just kind of riding that wave because they don't want to be disrespectful. But, you know, we'll see how it goes. I think LeBron's gonna definitely come back and just keep being LeBron until the truth.
C
The other thing that, that, that the biggest thing about all this is LeBron has to opt out. First of all, he could just opt in. It's player option. He can just opt in and say, I don't give a. About none. All these theories are like, he just. On everything we just said. So that's the first thing. He has to decide to opt out or opt in to be a Laker. That's his choice. So this might not even be a conversation when it's all said and done, but if he does opt out, I think that should at least make things interesting and make you wonder, you know, what could they do or try to do in this scenario? That was the end of my statement.
A
Boom. Mic drop. I love it. I love it. Well, with all this playoff talk, we've been focusing obviously a lot around the NBA. The NBA, the NBA. We do have to give the NHL some flowers because I. I mean, listen, I love the NHL playoffs. I think, and I think this is worthy of a conversation to where they rank comparatively with the other playoffs. I've. I've been watching not as closely this year, obviously, with the Cats not being in it. When your team's not in it, you just naturally don't watch as closely. But, dude, this playoffs has been actually pretty electric. I mean, you've got. You've got two kind of juggernauts right now with the Hurricanes and the. The Avalanche, and then you've got some incredible series going on. I know Vegas is. Is still in it with the Canadians, and then it's. It's Buffalo, and. It's Buffalo Canadians, and then Vegas. You're right. Buffalo Canadiens, Vegas Ducks. So Vegas actually just won last night. So now it's going to be Knights versus Avalanche, which I think is going to be an absolutely unreal series. And then now you've got the Canadiens taking a 3, 2 lead on the, the Sabers. So I do just want to give a shout out to the NHL playoffs because is some of the most electrifying sports of. I mean hockey in general is incredible if you know, if you're someone who doesn't really watch hockey regularly, you could just turn into the, the NHL playoffs and you would become a fan like that. The playoffs, the energy there, the amount, I mean the amount of hits, the amount of. I mean some Mitch Marner put a move on somebody yesterday. That's one of the nicest goals that I've. I've literally ever seen. It is just, it's just so cool. And, and it's, it's such a testament to them that the, the testament of, of that they play the exact same length of a season as the NBA does and they play in such, such a physical way and then they just ran in the playoffs. I listen, I just had to give them a shout out because I'm excited for the semis and then I'm excited for whoever is going to make to the Stanley Cup. So yeah, that's, that's, that's, that's my hockey take. What do you guys think in terms of like the NHL playoffs where they rank between. Essentially it's between the NBA, MLB and NFL. We'll keep it to the, the four professional ones.
B
I, I think, you know, I, I love the NHL. Obviously I'm not too much into it right now since the Cats aren't playing. You know, I'm happy that the Oilers aren't in the conversation. The Lightning, I'm happy but if they were there, I'd be chewed cheering for him.
C
Ish.
B
But some of these guys, they're juggernauts. Like they're, they're records. They've lost like 15, 16 games and like you said, that's difficult to do in hockey. You're playing 60, 60 some odd games before even playoffs start. And these guys, I'm a firm believer hockey is one of the most difficult sports like these guys are taking. It's like let's play a game of football but mix it with basketball. On ice skates with. While juggling.
A
It's the best dude. It's the best.
B
And looking at a team and I'm going to give them some light. Once again, I actually spoke with somebody who was very close with Bobrowski before he went back to Russia and, and Bob basically said like hey man, like yeah, obviously I would have loved to go to the playoffs, but I'm kind of happy that we're not. Because break for once. I get to go home. I get to be with my family. Like, we haven't spent time with our family in three years. He was like, we have a time to heal. Obviously, Barkov and Reinhardt both having injuries, and they had those injuries year one. People don't realize that that was in year one. We were going to the Stanley cup playoffs and they pushed for year two, they pushed for year three, and they finally were like, hey, we just can't do it anymore. So it's good, right? We signed all those guys back. I'm looking forward to next year. These guys finally having a break.
C
Right.
B
That time.
A
Dangerous dude bodies.
B
But hockey, Hockey's a dog, dog sport. I. I don't think many people realize that. So excited for the playoffs. These teams are really freaking good, so it'll be definitely one to watch.
C
Yeah, I think. I mean, I think they're up there. I think the, the. So the Panther, the Panthers run obviously got a lot of people excited about hockey, like with us. So it's tough when you don't have like a dog in the fight to really get excited about. But that's the same for baseball, really. I think baseball, come playoff time is really fun to watch. It's not something you want to sit there every day at 12 o' clock and turn on. But baseball is good, too. It's still bottom of the tier for me. It could possibly be over baseball, depending on who's there and what team it is. I think it could beat baseball out for a top spot. And that's crazy because, you know, that's America's sport, right?
B
Bobby, how many, how many hockey games have you been to?
C
Zero.
B
That's why.
A
That's why.
B
So everybody that I have met and have been like, yeah, hockey looks pretty cool, and then they actually went to a hockey game was like, this is the greatest since sliced bread. Like, it's sick to see these guys running around hitting each other and you're trying to follow the puck and then you're putting yourself on the Jumbotron and then there's a fight. It is. It is elite. And once guys have the opportunity to go watch those, especially during the regular season, right, you get tickets for cheap because there's so many games like baseball, right. And you know, playoff hockey, that is just a whole nother step in level. And, you know, I didn't even. I. I was a hockey fan and now I'm going to like a million games just because it's enjoyable and it's. It's physical and you get to relax. They're not too long like baseball games. Right. I don't want to sit at a baseball game for four hours and, and no one hit the ball. Right. At least if we're not scoring goals in hockey. Right. Somebody somebody to get excited or at least they're playing a trivia trivia questions on the jumbotron and getting a free hot dog. Like hockey to me is elite and is, is definitely one of the top of the. The barrel for mine.
C
Yeah I said that I would, I could possibly put it above baseball now he's never going to pass football or basketball. That's just not going to be a thing. But and let's be honest here, NFL playoffs is like the best as it gets. Like that's just cream of the crop.
A
I so I have the listen for me obviously football's king NFL playoffs is still number one. Although you know what's funny? Out of all them the NFL like sometimes can just like have such shitty games. But for me like football's king, nothing's gonna touch the NFL. But I actually have the NHL playoffs at number two. I think the NHL playoffs are my second favorite to watch because like even without the Panthers being in it, I still love watching hockey. And it's just, it's. The sport for me has really jumped up the rankings really since like like colleges. I gotta give a shout out to my, my, my guy P. Funk who got me into the Panthers right before this run. He's been a die hard hockey fan and so I've, I've been lucky enough to be like watching long enough where it just really has because for me it's even surpassed basketball in terms of like, like listen, I still, I love the heat and stuff but like you know I honestly haven't even been watching the NBA playoffs as heavily. Like if it's, if I'm free and it's on like I'll tune in obviously. But like honestly if there's a bet, if there's a hot game, I might watch that one. So I, I would put NNL at number two. And then you know, for me it kind of gets like I guess flip a coin. I like basketball more than I like baseball. But I will say the MLB playoffs can get electric. So that's, that's how I would rank them. I think I'd probably still put baseball at four but probably in terms of like come not competitiveness but like, like the MLB playoffs there is something special about it. But you know, I still like watching basketball a bit More.
C
With that being said, I'm rooting for the Hurricanes anytime, the hometown team. You gotta root for the Hurricanes, baby. Dude, hey, the Hurricanes were juggernaut there for a little while when I was growing up, and they're still pretty good lately. But yeah, I root for them.
A
Yeah, they're the Panthers sons. We own that. We own that franchise. Bunch of cowards up in Carolina.
C
Wait, where are the Pendants at right now?
A
We're at home hanging out with our two Stanley's. Dude,
B
that's accurate.
A
Yeah, it is. Exactly. Exactly. All right, gents, do we, do we even have a, a. What's the debate this week? By. I, I see, I see we're having some discussion here. What, what do we want, do we want to go that. I kind of like that debate.
C
I'm looking at the. First of all, I want to say this. I'm looking at the run of show here, and our producer dropped the ball. That's. First things first. In the notes, it says, not done finishing it up, but here's what we got. And then they clearly just didn't finish it up. You know, I mean, but we're not gonna talk about that. Or, you know, Andre being on vacation again, you know, we're not gonna talk about any of that. I don't care to talk about it. It's not like I'm mad about it. I'm not upset about it. I love showing up, you know, putting team on my back, but nonetheless, yeah,
B
you know, the truth.
A
Oh, man, that's so good. So, yeah, do you want to go?
C
We could talk about the roast. Okay, I'm down. I'm down.
A
Okay. That's the debate. Would you, would you ever put yourself in a roast? I, I, I guess it depends on who you're doing it with, right? I mean, I don't know. It were. It's such a, it'd be a low level. I mean, this, these people are getting absolutely roasted in front of the entire world. Like, like, you know what I mean? Like, if that type of level, like, I, I don't know if I could take it or if, I mean, I guess I'd say I'd be like, I don't know if I can even dish it as hard as some of these guys, but a lot of them, a lot, a lot of them are just really, it's the right. They're, they have comedy writers, like, kind of in their pocket that are kind of someone else. Exactly. So, I mean, I could probably do it, but it's also like, damn, dude. Like it's tough. Like, I don't know. Like, I can handle that hot seat, dude.
B
Yeah, I'm. I'm so. I'm not sensitive. And I. And, like, my group of friends, like, we crack jokes at each other and go back.
A
Yeah.
B
And, like, I can do that, but, like, if I'm looking at somebody and. And they are cracking on me and I know something about you. Like, I'm. I'm the one. Like, if you cross that line, like, I'm gonna. I'm gonna say some.
C
Do not trigger Winga this.
B
And I'm getting roasted. I. I'll take a few, and I'll just be like. But then they said something I just didn't. Like, I'm. Be like, I'm. I'm gonna say something else. No, I think I could, but it would have to be an open debate where I can kind of come back at you with something.
C
But that's the cool thing about the roast is like. Like, Kevin Hart did it. He got cooked for two hours, and then he had the last turn, so he got to then go around the board and cook everyone. And I thought that was a cool way to do it. It was awesome to see. I think the Rock was absolutely blistered
A
out of his mind.
C
I think he was drunk as hell.
A
I think he was the funniest part, dude, he was trying. He was trying to get him to suck on his nipples, dude.
C
He said he was gonna pop some tequila later and make love to his wife and let Kevin watch in the corner and put him up in his cook a high chair, buckle him, Dude.
A
It's crazy because, like, I mean, obviously the Rock and Kevin Hart, like, they're. They're. They're homies, dude.
B
They're.
A
They. They. They. They do this all the time. But, brother, I was shocked with how, like, the. The Rock let loose, dude. The Rock was cutting up a WWE promo from the OG days, dude. He was. He was going hard. I loved it. I love that now. He was probably one. He's probably one of my favorite ones. Yeah. Because it was. It was like. It was so strange, too, at points that it was just so funny. Like, that's. That's what made it, like, it was so different. Like, everyone's, like, going so cutthroat. Like, he was taking full jabs at Kevin Hart, but, like, also do. Going in such a. A unique approach to the debate or to the roast. So I like the rocks. The rocks.
C
I think it was also cool they. They brought Cat Williams out, especially after their. Their indifferences. And to have them just pop up. I thought Cat Williams was cool. And then they shook hands, and he just ran out, and then he was, like, running behind the stage, like, he didn't know which way to go.
A
Yeah,
C
the. The other thing you got to remember, though, with these roasts, it's not like. It's just, like, you would sign up for it in your normal, like, life right now. Like, these people are in the spotlight. Like, Kevin Hart has made real mistakes in his life. Like, and your wife is sitting front row, and, like, you have. You know, it's not just you getting cooked, but, like, a lot of that stuff is, like, your wife has to be on board for that as well, you know, because, like. Yeah, yeah, there's just a lot of jokes, you know? So basically, you know, it's a whole different animal. Those guys have, like, lived in the spotlight their entire life, and they have real baggage, like any human being. But the world knows about it, and, you know, so it is a tough. It's a tough sell, you know, it's because it's not just you signing up for it. You're signing your family up for it,
B
and that's a better way to look at it. Like, there's some stuff about us that the world doesn't know, so that. That makes it a little bit more personal.
C
Wingo, we know you're listening to Drink, Dude. Get it out.
B
It's like, all right. I've already been roasted for it. I know what they're gonna say. Like, I know they're gonna come out and, like, if I'm up there, like, oh, they're gonna say this. Like, let me just. Just get ready to take it on the chin. But. But, yeah, I'll. Don't tie me up, dude.
A
A. A dive bar roast would be. Would be pretty electric.
C
Trick did. I'd be for it. But the thing is, you just never know where it's going to go, right?
A
No, of course. I mean, people. I mean, if you don't have thick skin, people's feelings can absolutely get hurt.
C
Oh, I don't. I don't. I wouldn't have a problem dishing out a roast. I think I'd get up there and cook. Like, I'd read that prompter with pride because, hey, that's what they wrote it. Yeah, I'm g. To read this. I think that, you know, that's the other thing. I. I would do a roast. I'd sign up for a roost roast. The problem is, I'm not Kevin Hart. I'm not Tom Brady. I don't have the headlines to roast. I don't have it like, they got it. So that's another thing. I think a roast is awesome, but it has to. It almost like the downfall is it is at that level because they have, like, everyone knows Kevin Hart's history and his divorce and all the stuff he's been through. And then everybody knows Tom Brady and his wife and Jiu Jitsu trainers and truth owners getting massages. They know all this. There is no, like, real. Like, I don't have that. Unfortunately. That's the other side. It's like, there's not real. Real baggage. The world knows that would make it worth tuning in to even see a rose for me or any of us, probably.
A
Yeah. Can you imagine? If you imagine just putting me on stage right now, people like, who the hell is this guy?
C
What the hell is even that. Dude? You know who would be a good roast? Not because they have anything to roast. They really don't. You know, he's perfect. But, man, seeing Pooch up there getting cooked would be awesome.
A
That would be hilarious.
C
It's like, nothing really to, like, cook. Ro. Cook Pooch on, but, like, did it just sitting here. Just pictured, like, his facial expression.
A
Yeah, he'd be getting so flustered too. He'd be like, get. You can see him slowly getting more agitated. And then he would just pop off at the end.
C
Papa, no. Papa no. Do that,
A
Poochie.
C
Oh, man.
A
I wish Pooch was here, man.
C
Oh, man.
A
Let's call. Let's call Pooch in here. Where the hell is Pooch?
B
They bail those this week.
C
You saw that pain in. On Wingo's throat. That was. That was real pain right there.
A
That was. Oh, man. Alrighty, gents.
B
All right. Tonight, the Alien and the Truth.
A
