But when my half court heave only goes half the distance, how embarrassing for him? I wonder, is sport clips better than sports? Because sport clips haircuts is sports on tv plus an expert haircut, hot steam towel and massaging shampoo.
Steve Claire
Tear up his comically large check.

Which is better than sports plus public embarrassment. Sport clips.

Steve Claire
Longevity has nothing to do with greatness.
Steve's Friend
No.
Steve Claire
Greatness is about being a dog. Greatness is in your blood. If you're 17 years old and they're calling you the king already, it's hard to build and be great. And that's what he was. He didn't put in the work. Kobe put in the work. Jordan put in the work. Barkley, D. Wade, these guys put in work. D. Wade put in the work. Ron didn't put in the work.
Dave
That's gonna get some people.
Steve Claire
That's the clip.
Dave
Yeah, we're gonna get some people going. All right, all right, all right. We are here. Super bowl week, San Francisco, on Meteoro. We got Dave and we got Steve. What's your last name?
Steve Claire
Steve Claire.
Dave
Claire. Steve Claire. Honestly, this just came out, so. So we're gonna just chop it up here. The concept of this, so you guys can take a look. You see it here on the table? Got the Goat series books. So, Steve, tell us a little bit about this.
Steve Claire
Sure. So the Goat series are biographies of the greatest athletes of all time turned into goats in a world of humans. So we took Brady, Serena, Messi, Jordan, Tiger, Gretzky, Babe, and we turned them into goats. And it's their life story from when they grew up, all throughout their career and after their career. We touch on all the. All their philanthropy, how well they took care of their body in regards to braiding. And the goal is to really teach kids not just about what they see with the successes, but the downs as well. The ebbs, the flows, and all the important things that go into being the goat.
Dave
It's a sick concept. I mean, the artwork's great when you open up the book.
Steve's Friend
Yeah.
Dave
It's that storytelling aspect.
Steve's Friend
Right.
Dave
Like being able to showcase, like you mentioned, from day one of being little Brady to now being the goat in football.
Steve Claire
Absolutely. So I had this idea well over half a decade ago, and I kept going on Amazon and I'm like searching for it and it doesn't exist. And then April 2024, I'm like, you know what? If I don't do this, I'm going to be kicking myself forever.
Dave
Yeah.
Steve Claire
So started putting pen to paper, doing some research. At the time, I was actually reading Michael Jordan's biography, which is like 600
Steve's Friend
pages
Steve Claire
dumb that down into a children's book. But then like really crafting it so it actually had some great flow. And then going through the journey of hiring an illustration team and learning how to get printers, learning how to do distribution. Everything you see was self taught.
Dave
That's impressive.
Steve Claire
That's awesome.
Dave
That's impressive. So how. How's the logistics of writing about these guys? Right. Like, do you have to get approval on any of this? Like, how does that work? You work with their team?
Steve Claire
No. So it's a gray area.
Dave
Okay.
Steve Claire
A legal gray area.
Dave
There's always a gray area.
Steve Claire
So you could write a biography about anybody.
Dave
Okay.
Steve Claire
As long as everything you write is truthful.
Dave
Right.
Steve Claire
So I can't do a book of Tom Brady the Goat or Tom Brady the Adventures of the Goat, where he goes through Boston searching for the best chowder.
Steve's Friend
Yeah.
Steve Claire
That is using his likeness in a children's book.
Steve's Friend
Good book, by the way. That could be a good book. Keep that on the back burner.
Steve Claire
It's on the back burner. Once I get the licensing. That's the first.
Dave
Okay.
Steve's Friend
Got you.
Steve Claire
So biographies you can write. Okay. So all these books are perfectly fine.
Dave
Got it.
Steve Claire
Do I want their blessing? One million percent. That would be the best. But I have, you know, crossed all my T's and dotted all my eyes when it comes to the legal sense of it.
Dave
Yeah. It's awesome. And you did that yourself?
Steve Claire
No. Okay.
Dave
Because I know you've been doing a lot of this.
Steve Claire
That's where I hired a great IP attorney and like, whenever I had a question for her, I'm like, this is going to be a $400 phone call. But it's like, you got it. Exactly. You got to pay for that stuff. Because that is the most important thing with any of this, is making sure that everything is done in balance, 100%.
Steve's Friend
So which one of these did you start with? Was it Brady?
Steve Claire
Jordan.
Steve's Friend
Jordan.
Steve Claire
So Jordan was the first book that took about four or five months to complete. And then once we had the Jordan book, I went Brady, Serena, and then Messi. And once we had the Jordan book, we kind of had the. The blueprint for the rest of the series.
Steve's Friend
Well, listen, I. I already told you this. Before we start recording, I need my Ronaldo goat book.
Steve Claire
That's fair enough. Listen, when I. When we. We activated and we launched the series at Fanatics Fest.
Steve's Friend
Yeah.
Steve Claire
Back in June 2025, the amount of Ronaldo fans and listen, it's a conversation. You have the LeBron fans or the LA Flop fans who will come. And I'm not even going to call it debating, because they don't debate. They just. They just about what he's been doing the longest. And it's hard to explain to someone who doesn't understand what they're talking about that longevity has nothing to do with greatness. Yeah, greatness is about being a dog. Greatness is in your blood. If you're 17 years old and they're calling you the king already, it's hard to build and be great. And that's what he was. He didn't put in the work. Kobe put in the work. Jordan put in the work. Barkley, D. Wade. These guys put in work. D. Wade put in the work. Ron didn't put in the work.
Dave
That's going to get some people.
Steve Claire
That's the clip.
Dave
Yeah, we're going to get some people going.
Steve Claire
We're in San Francisco right now. I'm 40 years old, so I started watching basketball, you know, sometime in the 90s. Big Jordan fan through the years. You see what greatness is on my round. Mount Rushmore. I got Steph over LeBron. Really? Yes. I got Steph over. How do you score points in the NBA? Who's the greatest shooter of all time? How many rings does Steph have in LeBron's era? Who has more rings, him or Steph?
Dave
Steph, if you're great, you got to win.
Steve Claire
How do you have a losing record in the Finals?
Dave
Dave over there is losing his shit
Steve Claire
over there being great.
Steve's Friend
This is my. This is going to be my dad's favorite episode, by the way. My dad is not a LeBron guy. He's a Jordan. He's a Jordan. Jordan's his favorite player, and Jordan's like. He's, like, always battling Jordan over LeBron. So keep going.
Steve Claire
Even a battle, and it's. You just look at the. The great statistics, the greatness that Jordan brought. Yeah. If Jordan in the mid-90s was like, hey, Chicago, I'm going to go to the Knicks and we're going to create a super team. Hakeem. Yeah, you're coming. All right, Charles. Charles, you good? All right, then you put Hakeem Charles, Jordan, probably Steve Kerr going with him. Imagine that team. That team's winning 10.
Dave
I don't even know if they lose a game.
Steve Claire
They're winning 10 in a row and 10 championships.
Steve's Friend
This is where I'm going to have to stop you in the sense of LeBron. Heat is the best LeBron we got.
Steve Claire
Here's the thing, bias.
Dave
I don't think LeBron was together was sick, too.
Steve's Friend
Yeah.
Steve Claire
LeBron wasn't even the best player on that team. Wade was a star of that team.
Steve's Friend
I. I agree that Wade was.
Steve Claire
Wade got a ring before LeBron 100,
Steve's Friend
but I hate defending.
Steve Claire
Wade got a ring before LeBron even came to Miami. No, I agree.
Steve's Friend
I think.
Dave
I think that 06 finals was so.
Steve's Friend
And what's crazy is that people. People, like, I always see the. The new argument of, like, James Harden versus Wade. Like, people, like, it's crazy to think. And I get it. Like, obviously, we've saw it firsthand in Miami. Like, people really don't realize how freaking good Dwyane Wade really was. Like, I. Yeah, I used to go to battle, and you're definitely going to disagree with this take, but I used to go to battle of D. Wade was actually better than Kobe. And so that was my. That was my. My, my LeBron Jordan.
Steve Claire
What I love about D. Wade, Kobe, Jordan. Yeah, Barkley, they all worked with Tim Grover.
Steve's Friend
Yes.
Steve Claire
Yeah. So working with Tim was like a rite of passage for these godly athletes, these guys who really wanted to go above and beyond and become the greatest.
Dave
Yes.
Steve Claire
That just wasn't LeBron.
Dave
That's. I mean, it's fair. I mean, you talk. You hear what, like, LeBron does with his body, and, you know, that's like more of like, a modernized version of. Of, like, I guess what you do when you're an athlete. Right? That Tim Grover thing. I mean, the connection between him and Kobe. Right? And just like, that Mamba mentality. Right? Like, that's. That's one of one. And that is that connection of, like, Tim Grover and that connection with Kobe, because Kobe Just did shit differently.
Steve's Friend
Yeah. Yeah.
Dave
That to me, like, I will say that Kobe is like, there's no other Kobe and there'll never be one.
Steve Claire
Yeah. And LeBron has that story about when the, the U.S. team was playing in Vegas. And after that first night, they had a game. Owen packs to the hotel and all the guys went out that night, and they came back at 4 in the morning, and Kobe was sweating in his sweats, just left the gym at 4, 4:30 in the morning for his first workout of the day while the rest of them are coming back from the club. And they all looked at that like, oh, that's greatness. We're boys. Kobe's a man.
Steve's Friend
But you know what's crazy too, is that on the other note with Jordan, because Jordan's a killer and Jordan's got the same mentality, but Jordan was also somebody who would go play 36 holes of golf and still kill you that same night.
Steve Claire
36 holes, probably two, three stones. Exactly. And then kill you. Exactly, exactly.
Steve's Friend
So he, he was.
Steve Claire
Oh, man.
Steve's Friend
I, he. If there was somebody that I would like, my dream golf pairing would be Michael Jordan. Just to see, first of all, how competitive he is. The, the crazy bets that he's, the stories are that he does on the course of just how, like, he just never shuts off that, that killer, like he wants to beat you in everything. And that's who he is.
Steve Claire
That's a goat. Let me ask you guys. Yeah, the goat. Who's your all time? Like, if you pick, you say the goat in your head, who are you picturing?
Dave
Tiger's definitely in that picture. And Jordan, I would say Tiger and Jordan are like my, my top two.
Steve's Friend
For me, it's, it's Jordan in terms of like, what's synonymous with what I think the goat is. It's also because that, that argument, right, like the, the Jordan LeBron thing, like in football, it's kind of been already crowned, right? Brady? It's kind of almost universal. Even, Even with golf, like tigers, pretty universally proclaimed as a goat. Jordan is one that I see as the goat as well. But it's one that they, they, they debate till kingdom come whether it's, you know, Stephen A. And, and, and stuff. So I think that's like, that automatically also just triggers it because I've heard the word term goat so much with Michael Jordan that he's the first person that always comes to my mind.
Steve Claire
He is the biggest killer when it comes to athletes.
Dave
Yeah.
Steve Claire
Him and Brady are probably the two biggest that just want to put you down, put their foot on your throat and just not let go and just go harder and harder.
Dave
That was Tiger, too.
Steve Claire
Tiger,
Dave
like, knowing that Tiger was like six strokes back, and they're like, I'm gonna lose this tournament. It's like he just had that aura to him. Just like mj, just like Brady, where it's just like, in the back of your head you might like. Well, not even in the front, you might look confident, but in the back of your head, you're scared shitless.
Steve Claire
Yeah. And the thing about Tiger, like, his numbers were godly.
Dave
Yeah.
Steve Claire
Like, the things. So Tiger Gretzky, Babe George, another one. The things that they were doing had never been done. Serena. The things that these goats did had never been done. When. When. When Babe Ruth switched from pitcher to left field.
Steve's Friend
Yeah.
Steve Claire
First season, 13 home runs. Second season, 29 home runs. When Babe hit 29 home runs in a season which, like, doesn't sound like that much, the next after him was like, 10.
Steve's Friend
Yeah.
Dave
Yeah.
Steve's Friend
Crazy.
Steve Claire
Full teams weren't putting up 20 home runs, and he was hitting 29. And then he went to the 30s and then eventually over 50.
Dave
Yeah.
Steve's Friend
Yeah.
Dave
I'm just here, like, thinking, like, who are your next goats?
Steve Claire
Oh, dude.
Steve's Friend
I.
Dave
Literally, there's generations I need to go by to be crowned a goat. Right. So there's that facet. But there's obviously other people that have been very successful in their careers.
Steve Claire
This is a series that's going to live forever. And that's the great thing about the series, is that this doesn't have a shelf life. Right.
Steve's Friend
Yeah.
Steve Claire
Tom Brady will be the goat, and his story is not going to be tarnished.
Steve's Friend
Yep. Yeah.
Steve Claire
Same thing with all these guys.
Steve's Friend
Yeah.
Steve Claire
So our goal is to first put out a goat series book for most sports. I. I want to touch everything from Muhammad Ali, Simone Biles, Kelly Slater, Shaun White, like, Usain Bolt, Michael Phelps.
Dave
Lewis was the one.
Steve Claire
I was Hamilton.
Steve's Friend
Yeah.
Steve Claire
We want to hit all of those until. And then we're going to start doubling up on sports and going beyond that.
Dave
Right.
Steve Claire
The 10 year goal for this Miami Dolphins, they got at least five goats on their team, right?
Steve's Friend
Y.
Steve Claire
Right. The Marlins, I don't know if they have five goats
Dave
would probably be like, yeah, like Beckett.
Steve Claire
Here we go. I got a spread.
Steve's Friend
Juan Pierre, Miguel Cabrera.
Dave
Miguel Cabrera. Jeff Conine, Pudge. You know, like that arrow on. You know, we won a couple.
Steve Claire
I'll bring up the. I'll bring up the.
Steve's Friend
The fences. I mean, the Marino book is the Marino. The second you create a Marino Go.
Steve Claire
I have right here.
Steve's Friend
Run to buy 17.
Steve Claire
I have right here. I spreadsheeted out five goats from every team of top of the top four.
Steve's Friend
Okay.
Steve Claire
Leagues in the U.S. i got the top five from. So you tell me. The Florida Marlins.
Dave
Let's hear it.
Steve Claire
Who are the top five goats?
Dave
I'm asking you. Okay, you're asking us. Miami Marlins.
Steve Claire
Yeah.
Dave
I'm gonna go. Beckett in there?
Steve's Friend
Yeah.
Dave
Conine.
Steve's Friend
Yeah. Mr. Marlin's got to be in there.
Dave
Pudge Rodriguez.
Steve's Friend
It's tough because, like, Miguel Cabrera, like, he was awesome with us, but he really became.
Dave
Yeah.
Steve's Friend
Disgusting on the, the Tigers.
Dave
Miggy is definitely. I feel I got to be in there.
Steve's Friend
I mean, it's different because, like, local guys.
Dave
D train.
Steve's Friend
Oh, yeah.
Dave
I was just a huge D train guy.
Steve Claire
So Beckett is on there.
Steve's Friend
Yeah, yeah.
Steve Claire
After that, my Glo in there. After that, we got Luis Castillo.
Steve's Friend
Oh, yeah.
Dave
Luis Castillo. Yeah.
Steve Claire
Jose Fernandez.
Steve's Friend
Yeah.
Dave
Yes.
Steve Claire
Ramirez. And Stanton and Stannon. I don't know.
Dave
I, I, I think we gotta, we gotta marinate that list a little bit.
Steve Claire
Give me another team. Who else are you guys rooting for? The Dolphins.
Steve's Friend
Who do you have for the Dolphins? I'm curious. I want to see.
Steve Claire
Who do you think?
Steve's Friend
All right. So obviously, for sure. Zonka. Zonka on there.
Dave
Shula.
Steve's Friend
Oh, Jason.
Dave
Jason Taylor.
Steve Claire
Shula's not in there. Taylor's on there.
Steve's Friend
Zach Thomas.
Steve Claire
Zach Thomas.
Dave
Yep.
Steve Claire
And now we're. We're going old school.
Steve's Friend
Old school. Paul Warfield.
Dave
Greasy.
Steve Claire
Greasy.
Steve's Friend
Oh, okay.
Steve Claire
Oh, yeah. That's a good five.
Steve's Friend
That's a good five.
Steve Claire
That's.
Dave
Should Shula be on that list? I mean, he's not a player.
Steve Claire
No, but we do. Have we the top 10 coaches of all time.
Dave
Shula's number one. Number one.
Steve's Friend
Belichick's not even a First Battle hall of Famer, Right?
Steve Claire
Crazy.
Steve's Friend
No, it's sick, man.
Dave
That's sick. And then you get into, like, entertainment. Like, there's so many different facets that you can get into.
Steve's Friend
This is an awesome concept. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's an, it's very creative concept.
Dave
Very cool. Well, good luck. Well, first off, congrats and definitely good luck, you know, moving forward with all of.
Steve Claire
Watch your content grow. Thank you, man.
Dave
Absolutely, man. Appreciate it, brother.
