Country Ham will be the star of the show October 11th and 12th during the 48th annual Trigg County Country Ham Festival in Cadiz. Trigg County Tourism Director Beth Sumner previews the festival, some of the contests, entertainment, and more.

Kentucky 4-H Vice President Tye Jones talks about his road to becoming a state officer and how he got his start in 4-H. Jones also talks about the lessons he has learned through the 4-H programs he has been involved with and his message to Kentucky 4-H members.

Kentucky Lake Tourism Director Elaina Blevins talks with Travelin the Bluegrass about the development of the Western Kentucky Wine Trail with the help of American Rescue Plan Act funding from the Kentucky Tourism Arts and Heritage Cabinet. During the Agritourism Edition stop at Poca Terra Winery Blevins said the development of the wine trail is bringing visitors from surrounding states to experience Kentucky wine and the communities where the wineries are located.

The Hlinkas provide details about the experience they offer visitors, the variety of wines they make, and the response of visitors.

Winery owners John and Karen Hlinka talk about the history of the winery, the heritage in their family, and why they started a retirement hobby of making wine.

Montgomery County 4-H member and past Kentucky 4-H Vice-President Lance Munday was named Grand Champion in the National Turkey Barbeque contest in Louisville in 2023. Munday talks about winning the national championship, getting started in the competition, and some important lessons he has learned along the way.

WAVE Ag Director Dr. Tony Brannon was recently named Distinguished Kentuckian by the Kentucky Association of Electric Cooperatives. Dr. Brannon talks about receiving the honor, what it means to him, and his life that has been dedicated to spreading the story Western Kentucky agriculture.

Kentucky Department of Agriculture Safety Director Dale Dobson says three farm families were recognized for their commitment to farm safety during the Raising Hope Farmer Appreciation Day in Bowling Green September 18th. Dobson also presented three Friends of Raising Hope awards and named three long-time partners Honorary Commissioners of Agriculture.

A time to say thank you to farmers and those in the agribusiness community was the central focus of the second annual Raising Hope Farmer Appreciation Day at Western Kentucky University’s Ag Expo Center in Bowling Green. Agriculture Commissioner Jonathon Shell, Kentucky FFA Vice-President Avery Cole, and Farm Credit Mid-America’s Jade Sadler talk about the message relayed to farmers.

Ashland Blazer FFA members Rider Phillips and Kahlil Ealy went him with cash in their pockets and a check for their school after winning the sales competition at AgVenture Day in Greenup County. Phillips and Ealy talk with Travelin the Bluegrass host Alan Watts about participating in the contest and how the experience will benefit them.
