Welcome back to the Travis Makes Money podcast, where it's a mission to help you make more money. Today on the show, my producer, Eric is in studio.
Eric
This is a historic episode, and I'm not joking.
Travis Chapel
Okay. Why?
Eric
Everything is a historic thing because a couple of days later, it's history. No, this is historic because on today's episode of the Travis Makes Money podcast, I am. I guarantee you I'm going to make you and some people in your family money. Wow. I'm serious.
Travis Chapel
Okay.
Eric
You'll be able to quantify.
Travis Chapel
Okay. Well, now I'm excited.
Eric
Reaching that bag. There's $20 in there just for you. I just give you some money. I just made good. So this is crazy, actually. And I told. So this is such a good thing. I sent a Facebook message to my brother because I found him money, too.
Travis Chapel
Okay.
Eric
And he never responded. And it was like a year ago. Wow. Did I reach out to you and say one time that you had some money sitting there and you should get it?
Travis Chapel
Yes.
Eric
Oh, that ruins. Okay, well, you haven't done it, so let's talk.
Travis Chapel
Let's talk about. Wasn't that about Facebook reels or something?
Eric
No.
Travis Chapel
Oh.
Eric
So today I want to talk about unclaimed properties.
Travis Chapel
Okay.
Eric
Are you familiar with this?
Travis Chapel
I am not.
Eric
You have no idea what this is. I'm so glad. Okay. I thought you were going to sit here and I was going to tell you this because this, like, I just talked to somebody who did this blew my mind.
Travis Chapel
Okay.
Eric
And I thought for sure you'd be like, yeah, I was actually in a mastermind, and they told me about this. They didn't. You don't know about this.
Travis Chapel
I do not.
Eric
All right? And I already checked, and I did find you money that you can get immediately. And I found your dad's money, too.
Travis Chapel
Really?
Eric
Yep. And I found a Lot of people with last name Chapel that.
Travis Chapel
Can I collect my dad's money?
Eric
Yes, if he's not of sound mind. Well, so you're good.
Travis Chapel
It's debatable.
Eric
You're clear. Just kidding, Mark. So, anyway, so the way I found this finance act was actually listening to the H3 podcast.
Travis Chapel
Oh.
Eric
And he. Ethan Klein, said he was going to make everybody some money. And I was like. I thought it was a joke. And then people were like, I found $10,000.
Travis Chapel
$10,000.
Eric
I found $4,000. I found $300. I found $90. Don't get excited. I did not find you $10,000, because I would have told you that before we hit record. So here's. Here's the short, and then I'm gonna go in and show you. You have some money sitting there. And so does Jackie. I found money for Jackie, too. All right, you ready? Yeah. All right. Check this out. This is so cool.
Travis Chapel
Okay.
Additional Guest
I found out something that's going to change your guys's lives. You all are about to get a ton of money.
Eric
Let's go. What?
Additional Guest
I typed unclaimed property, California. I put my info.
Eric
You've never heard of this?
Travis Chapel
Nope.
Eric
Dude, this is so cool here.
Additional Guest
Yeah, it's like $300. So what happens is when they can't find you to pay you, they just. They give it to the city to put in this un. Claimed property. And it was like, when I overpaid some stuff, somebody owed me money for something. So wait, I want one of you guys to try it. Type unclaimed property, California. And it's super easy to search still.
Sponsor Voice 2
I just did it. I mean, some of these are saying over $100.
Travis Chapel
Yes.
Sponsor Voice 2
Apple, iPhone and iPad warranty.
Additional Guest
Yes, bro. Yo, what this person here got $16,700.
Eric
How did you lose that much?
Travis Chapel
That's the question that I have.
Eric
How did you just be okay with not having $93,000? Okay, so. So, okay, so if. If it didn't make sense when he just said, that's why when you don't go yet. Don't do it yet. I'm going to pull it up so you can look. Okay, so every state has a version of this. So if you type in unclaimed property and your state don't stop Googling stuff. Okay, stop, stop, stop, stop. I want to show you. I want to show you myself. I'm excited. If you type in any. If you're listening this right now, pull over the car or not. I can't control you. Pull out your phone. Google unclaimed property, your state. So unclaimed property in Nevada, California. Insert state. I'll do all 50. So you have options. So what happens is when you pay your insurance, your Liberty Mutual, whatever, insurance every month, like, if you overpay and they try to send you, like, a refund because you overpaid and they can't get it to you, it goes into unclaimed property. And so you can file a claim to get your unclaimed property. So I'm going to go ahead and do this for California. I'm going to show you here on the screen. We're going to go to unclaimed property, California. You want to make sure it's the official site. Let me be clear. So this is the state comptroller's office, and I'm going to search for your property. So I'm going to put in your last name.
Travis Chapel
We have returned more than $8,109,111,341.
Eric
I was so giddy when I remembered this from, like, two years ago, because that's when it happened. And I thought I text texted you. Maybe you just brushed it off, too, but I was like.
Travis Chapel
I remember texting me and saying that, but it was literally about, like, Facebook reels. Yeah, I.
Eric
To be fair, I text you often. Things like that. Like, vague. Hey, do this. There's something here. But no. And I sent to my brother because he had, like. I think he had, like, a couple hundred bucks or something. And I sent him. He didn't say anything, and I think he thought I was hacked or something.
Travis Chapel
Yeah, yeah.
Eric
But anyway, so I searched Travis Chapel on here, and then I'll put Lancaster. Okay. You ready for this? How much do you think. Wait. Oh, wait, hold on. How much do you think I found for you?
Travis Chapel
I feel like it's not. I feel like it's not that much. I feel like it's less than 100 bucks for me.
Eric
Okay. Yeah, you're right. So here we go.
Travis Chapel
So this episode of the show is brought to you by Mars Men. So, look, guys, I don't know if everybody listening knows this, but a couple years ago, I was diagnosed with cancer. And around that time, I also noticed that my testosterone levels were dropping like crazy. And. And I know that some of it was due to the fact that my body was sort of in disarray. But then I also learned through this experience that most men start losing testosterone levels around the age of 30. And then it starts just getting worse and worse after that, about 1% every year after that. So What I learned during this is that basically your body makes testosterone, but a lot of it gets locked up and can't be used. So there's this protein called SHBG that basically handcuffs your testosterone. So even if your body's making testosterone S H G, SHBG locks it up so you can't access it. It's like having money in the bank, but your debit card doesn't work. So Mars Men is designed to help free locked testosterone so your body can actually use it. No synthetics, no needles, just real ingredients that help optimize energy, focus and strength. And since I started taking stuff like this, I noticed increased physical performance, especially recovery in the gym, which as I am getting older I'm starting to realize is a real thing. I, I have to like stretch a lot more, I have to like take breaks more, I have to have rest days and things like that. And, and Marsman has helped me to be able to recover a little bit faster. Plus more consistent natural energy. It's different than having a cup of coffee or an energy drink or something. It's a steadier sense of drive throughout the entire day. It supports healthy tea levels, energy and stamina with eight natural clinically dosed ingredients made in the USA and third party tested. Plus it's got a 30 day money back guarantee so there is absolutely no risk to you. Worst case, you don't absolutely love it and you get your money back. But over 91% of users report higher energy levels. Thousands and thousands of guys are feeling incredible results from this. So just check out the reviews on the website to see for yourself. For a limited time, our listeners get 50% off. That's 50, 50% off for life. Plus free shipping and three free gifts@men gotomars.com that's men. Go to mars.com for 50% off and three free gifts. When you check out after you purchase, they'll ask you where you heard about them. Just please support our show and tell them that we sent you. That's men.
Eric
Go to mars.com travis chapel this is your old po box in Lancaster. 42 cents right here. 42 cents that I found for you. But I also found you $12.54. Okay, so I found you. Almost $13.
Travis Chapel
Nice. That's yours just sitting there waiting for me.
Eric
But I'm ser. But that's free money. And I'm, and I'm, I'm telling you like if you're listening to this, there are people.
Travis Chapel
Yeah, yeah, I know. Right there, right there. Stop.
Eric
Look at this.
Travis Chapel
No, only a dollar.
Eric
But look at this one. This is another chapel that lives in Lancaster that I know. $1156 that's sitting there that they could have today. You should actually probably text her, let her know that.
Travis Chapel
Yeah. Clarence and Kathy. That's my grandparents.
Eric
Yeah.
Travis Chapel
So there's a dollar, right?
Eric
There's a dollar. There's 52 cents. And I'm saying this keeps going on and on and on. So look, and I'll show you, too, actually. I'll just pull up my notes, because I'm not going to just pull up everybody's info and just start reading through it. But I found $12.96 for you.
Travis Chapel
Okay.
Eric
I searched for your dad. Guess how much I found for him.
Travis Chapel
More than that.
Eric
How much?
Travis Chapel
150.
Eric
More.
Travis Chapel
Really? 100?
Eric
185. 85.
Travis Chapel
There you go.
Eric
Dad. Call your dad right now. Yeah, call your dad. Call your dad.
Travis Chapel
I don't want to call my dad right now.
Eric
It's. Do you think there's ever been a better time to call your dad than to say, dad, guess what I found $185 for you. So guess who. Guess what else? I searched. I searched for your wife. This is actually really scary because I was just sitting there googling your entire lineage.
Travis Chapel
Pulled up my ancestry dot com.
Eric
So I searched your wife, and she's owed at least three payments of up to $50. So she has up to $150. Call Jackie right now. Call Jackie. We call Jackie.
Travis Chapel
Oh, there it is.
Eric
Call Jackie right now and tell her the good news. And tell her she's been bringing me acai bowls from the Everbowl Store constantly, and this will almost cover it.
Travis Chapel
Okay, what do I say, though?
Eric
You have $150. Hello. First year on a podcast.
Travis Chapel
Okay, so we're on a podcast. We're doing. We're doing a recording, and Eric found this. Eric basically found you free money.
Eric
Me? Free money? Huh? At least up to $150 of free money. What's the catch? There's no catch. You just have to file a claim. So there's a government website where if a company owes you money and they can't get it to you or your bank account changes or they can't get the refund check to you, it goes into a city account that holds it for you, and all you have to do is go fill out a quick form and you can claim the money. And you're currently owed about $150. That's just sitting there. It's just free Money.
Travis Chapel
And I have $12.96. So between the two of us, we have basically a free dinner.
Eric
And, I mean, and your dad.
Travis Chapel
And my dad has almost 200 bucks.
Eric
Yep. And guess what, Jackie. Drum roll. Some. Someone else. That's not a drum roll. That's a laugh. Someone else that. That's a cough. Someone else that. You know, we found they're owed over a thousand dollars. Well, let's not talk about people's finances on the show. But. But is that another person with the
Travis Chapel
last name Chapel that's not related to us that lived in Minecraft?
Eric
So anyway, just want to let you know I found you 150 smackaroos, and you should definitely claim that because it's free money, baby.
Travis Chapel
This is Eric working off his ever bowl.
Eric
Yeah. That should cover about half the ever bowl I've consumed. Fair enough. Well, thank you. I appreciate you letting me know. All right, well, thank you. Fill it out. All right, well, we got a show to do, so if you could get off the line. Thank you.
Travis Chapel
We're talking way too much.
Eric
Okay, bye, everyone. On my way home. Yes, please. Actually, before you get off the line, that would be great. Gotcha. Gotcha. All right. All right. Have a great day. Okay.
Travis Chapel
Love you.
Eric
Love you. Bye. So that's pretty incredible. And that's real again. That's real money sitting there with no catch. With no. Literally no catch.
Travis Chapel
Catch. Free money.
Eric
Now let's talk about this, though.
Travis Chapel
Okay.
Eric
Okay. So the first time I ever heard about this was not from the H3 podcast. The first time I ever heard about this, I think, was from somebody I. I feel like it's somebody I interviewed on build your network when I was co hosting years ago. And when he said it in my brain, I just went, this sounds like a scam.
Travis Chapel
Yeah. Yeah.
Eric
But what he was presenting was way for people to make money by going to the site and searching for what people are owed.
Travis Chapel
Yeah.
Eric
Giving it to them and asking for a finder's fee. Yeah. And I was just like, this sounds scammy. This sounds fake. So it's totally legitimate to do that. There is a way that you can get it for somebody. You can go collect their finder fee. And I have to imagine most people would be like, oh, my God, that's incredible.
Travis Chapel
Yeah.
Eric
Once you convince them that it's not a scam and it's a real thing, I. The. There's just the legal guideline that you can't charge more than 10% of what the amount is that they're owed. So if somebody Wants to do that. There are ways to figure out a way to make a business out of that. And I think, honestly, I was like, this is a great side hustle for, like, a high school student that's like, yeah, let me look. First of all, if you go to a church and you're a young kid, like, leave for your safety. But also. I'm sorry. It was right there. And I thought about not saying it. I thought about not saying it, but I had to say it. If you're a young kid in a church, like, start looking up everybody, you know, and start there and, like, see if you can find your meemaw. Like, a thousand dollars that she overpaid to the, you know, telephone company.
Travis Chapel
Right.
Eric
You know what I mean? And, like, it's a really cool thing, but again, make sure you do it ethically. Don't charge more than 10%. All those sorts of things. And on the flip side of that, if someone approaches you and ask, asks you for a finder's fee or says that they'll look into it, you can just skip them and go straight to the website and search it yourself. Literally. Go to any state that you're in, unclaimed properties, find the official state website, and you're in the clear.
Travis Chapel
Did you also search for us in Nevada?
Eric
I did. That's where I found. Jackie was owed money. I think she was owed some in Lancaster, too. But again, I gave you all the steps to.
Travis Chapel
So basically all the places that you have lived.
Eric
Yeah.
Travis Chapel
Search.
Eric
So here, I'll do myself. You want to see myself?
Travis Chapel
Okay, let's see it.
Eric
I am owed some money. Tara was owed. Guess how much?
Travis Chapel
$200.
Eric
No, $2. Oh, I think. I think it was $2. Let me. Let me double check. Let's see. 92223. I don't live there now, so it doesn't matter. Yeah, look. So I.
Travis Chapel
A lot fewer Skorzinskis than Chapel.
Eric
There are no. Actually, there are some Scorsinskis in California that are owed, like, three grand.
Travis Chapel
Oh, really?
Eric
But I have no idea who they are. And I was so mad. I was like, God, I wish I could. I wish. But because it's also this thing of, like, I don't really want to go through the legwork of finding them and being like, hey, you're owed. But also, like, that is kind of a cool phone call, too.
Travis Chapel
Yeah.
Eric
I'm a fellow Scarzinski. I was looking for myself, and I found you. And also, how come I only know the poor Skorzinski and not you? But anyway, yeah, I'm owed $29. So. This is from Ally Banks. I'm assuming I overpaid a bank fee or they returned a fee and they couldn't get it to me.
Travis Chapel
Nice.
Eric
And. Or Ali. I think it's pronounced Ally.
Travis Chapel
I would. I would go with Ally.
Eric
I always said Ally, but I feel like. Anyway, it doesn't matter. It's kind of like. It's kind of like. What's that? What's that store? The furniture store.
Travis Chapel
Ashley?
Eric
No.
Travis Chapel
Ikea?
Eric
No. My wife and I laughed when we. R.C. willie.
Travis Chapel
R.C. wiley.
Eric
No, it's R.C. willie. Because me and my wife were like, oh, R.C. wiley. When we first moved to Vegas, we're like, oh, we could get some furniture. R.C. wiley. R.C. wiley. And then we were driving past it one day and the radio kicked on and said, R.C. willie. And we both started cracking up because we're like, who names a place Willie? Anyway, so Tara's also owed a dollar and two cents.
Travis Chapel
Nice. Which is 30 bucks sitting there.
Eric
Yeah, it's an unredeemed gift certificate. So nice. Pretty crazy, huh?
Travis Chapel
That is crazy.
Eric
This is actually really cool. I feel like you're underselling how cool. What I just showed you is.
Travis Chapel
I would love to hear if anybody does this. Who's listening.
Eric
How long it takes to get the money.
Travis Chapel
No, just like who has the coolest. Well, here story. You know.
Eric
Let me show you this. So this is Skorzinski. Let me show you the one that I was just mentioning. Yeah, look, there's your brother. No, this is a different mark.
Travis Chapel
Well, I thought. Isn't your brother with a C?
Eric
Oh, yeah. I think he is owed some as well, so. But yeah, look, my mom is owed a little bit of money.
Travis Chapel
Oh yeah, that other mark, Skorzinski.
Eric
Yeah. One. There's a.
Travis Chapel
There's 1200 bucks.
Eric
There's a Skorzinski in Corona that is owed $1173.
Sponsor Voice 2
There's your little one. Grew three inches overnight. Adorable. Also expensive. Sell their pint sized pieces on Depop and list them in minutes with no selling fees because somewhere a dad refuses to pay full price for the clothes his kids will outgrow tomorrow. And he's ready to buy your son's entire wardrobe right now. Consider your future growth bird budget secured. Start selling on Depop, where taste recognizes taste. Payment processing fees and boosting fees still apply. See website for details.
Eric
Look, there's a second one for the same person. $1,173.
Sponsor Voice 2
Dang.
Travis Chapel
He's got like 2,300 bucks sitting there.
Eric
My dad is owed $390. I should actually call my dad. He'd be hyped. He'd be the least happy person to get a call on a podcast, but he, he'd love to know he's owed some money. So, yeah, it's pretty amazing. Who are you looking up?
Travis Chapel
I'm going to go to ChatGPT and ask what is the most someone.
Eric
Why don't you just go. Why don't you send your message directly to. The government has recovered since Palantir is going to sell that search to the government for a very light fee. I have to. I mean, well, you heard from the show. Someone had $96,000. And like, how does that. How do you get that much gone?
Travis Chapel
Okay, this sounds just not true.
Eric
But think about it.
Travis Chapel
Largest individual unclaimed property payout in Missouri in 2011. Guess how much.
Eric
3 million.
Travis Chapel
$6.1 million.
Eric
I don't think that's that crazy because like if you think about, if you think about money that it's just somebody
Travis Chapel
who, who has a bunch of money who just overpaid on.
Eric
Well, and think about if you overpay a mortgage constantly or if you have a relative that leaves you money and it's sitting in some weird account that's attributed to you. Like I have to imagine there's some gnarly. I mean just finding you have $1,000 that's just gone is crazy.
Travis Chapel
Other massive real payouts. State level records. South Carolina, where you just came from. Largest in state's history. What? Guess what?
Eric
That one is not enough to stay there.
Travis Chapel
Yeah, that's true. Anyways. And as much as this one. $763,000.
Eric
That's awesome.
Travis Chapel
1.2 million in Tennessee. $11 million estate that was unclaimed in Chicago.
Eric
Imagine. See, that's the guy. I would give him the 10%. If you find. If you're listening to show and you find that we're owed like $7 million,
Travis Chapel
I will happily give you 700,000 you get.
Eric
I might give you 20%.
Travis Chapel
Frankly.
Eric
Like, frankly, that's. But that's incredible.
Travis Chapel
There's. So guess how much. Guess how much estimated unclaimed property across the US There is in value.
Eric
I don't want to say it's over a billion.
Travis Chapel
It is.
Eric
I want to say it's over a billion. I changed my tune quick. I would. You know what though? I'll say 4.5 billion.
Travis Chapel
50 to $70 billion sitting in unclaimed property across the once.
Eric
Once again, I'll say if you are a high schooler looking for a side hustle, literally, because you can, there's a real business there. You can.
Travis Chapel
50 to 70 billion is crazy.
Eric
I'm saying go, go to. Go to your zip code. Literally, if you're a teenager, go to your zip code, type it in, ask your parents first for help, but type it in. Do your zip code, find the people around. Like there's hundreds of thousands of dollars in your neighborhood easily.
Travis Chapel
Oh man, that's.
Eric
So you need to do this. Instead of sending out like happy birthday cards or like Christmas gifts, you should just find people's unclaimed property and let them know. Yeah, just go through this year for Christmas.
Travis Chapel
I found you $2003. Yeah, it says, it says most people are, are 0 to 500. Some people are 1,000 to 10,000 and then rare unicorns, 100,000 to 6 million plus.
Eric
Should I reach, should I reach out to the skorzinski that I found and report back later with what they say?
Travis Chapel
Yes.
Eric
What if our family hasn't talked to them for years for a reason? Yeah, they've got blood money. Yeah, look, I mean, yeah, it's pretty nuts.
Travis Chapel
So anyway, I just asked, I just asked too. Like, is it possible to turn this into a business? Basically saying 100 real business model people are already doing it quite quietly. The twist, the money isn't in finding money. It's in finding people who don't know that they're sitting on money. But yeah, find unclaimed property, contact them, offer to help recover it, take a percentage, I mean like 50 to 70 billion dollars that there's like a actual real like a scalable like model of this somehow.
Eric
And it's also just a side hustle. Like by the way, if you could give me 10% of the money I found for you and Jackie, that would be great. So anyway, no, I mean even if you just do it for the people, you know, like that's going to make you a little bit more money than a little yard sale. You know what I mean?
Travis Chapel
Oh yeah.
Eric
So can, so can you give me props? I know that.
Travis Chapel
Oh yeah, huge props, bro. Especially like with AI and stuff if, if you, if you spent a couple of days like toying around with Claude code or something and could figure out a way to at scale search databases and find and generate the email. Yeah, like yeah, yeah. And like send out contacts from an email sender like that, like you could probably actually make some pretty decent money. Just like, like what a name, a better form of business, you know?
Eric
What I mean like, hey, I get to call you. Well, that's what the guy said.
Travis Chapel
That's the cold call you want to receive.
Eric
I remember the guy interviewed. I don't remember his name. I just remember because I was like, this guy seems like so scammy because it's one of those things that sounds too good to be true until you check it yourself. Which I didn't do at the time. But I remember him saying like it's the best cold call because you're, you're telling them they get free money.
Travis Chapel
You're literally not selling them anything.
Eric
I have to imagine that most people go like hang up.
Travis Chapel
Oh yeah.
Eric
Or like whatever.
Travis Chapel
But you're still gonna be get people hanging up because this sounds too good to be true.
Eric
Well, maybe I'll email the people that have the same last name as me and let them know and just report back and see what they.
Travis Chapel
Yeah. This says like for launching in seven days, pull 100 high value claims, reach out manually, close three to five deals, document everything. Yeah. Cause like, like this is perfect for like social content even like, like this could really be a business that starts fueling itself because if you just, if you just started, like if you just filmed yourself calls, you know what I mean? It's like you, you like while it's ringing, you're kind of setting the stage. Be like, I found, you know, on this unclaimed property side, I found this person is owed 3, $500. So I'm going to call them and give them the good news and see if I can help them claim this and take a quick percentage and then go through the cold call. Like actually film the whole thing. Like that stuff would take off because people would flood the comments being like, is this real? This sounds like a scam. This is totally not real. This is fake.
Sponsor Voice 2
This is.
Travis Chapel
You know what I mean? And then start commenting like, I found I was owed $200. This is legit. But that could actually be like really solid.
Eric
Well, I feel good. I brought content today. That feels too good to be true. I literally kept my promise. I found you money.
Travis Chapel
You did?
Eric
I found your wife.
Travis Chapel
I was skeptical.
Eric
I found your dad money I could pro. I actually think some of these other people that I found are related to. You will have to check later.
Travis Chapel
Yeah.
Eric
But I may have found, I may have saved your family line. I just financed.
Travis Chapel
We're talking hundreds of dollars.
Eric
Maybe I saw some. I'll have to run the names by you but I found some other ones that were owed money too that I'd never heard of, but I was like that sounds like it could be a grandparent.
Travis Chapel
Start searching my my mom's maiden name to find the other side of the family.
Eric
So anyway, well, I know that we're at the end of this episode, but if you are listening, seriously, this is Eric giving you a little money advice. Search the states you've and also if you move states, search every state you lived in. Search unclaimed property your state, put in your name and make some money. Episode: CO-HOST | Make Money by Finding Hidden Cash with Unclaimed Property
Host: Travis Chappell
Guest/Co-Host: Eric (Producer)
Date: March 29, 2026
In this engaging and energetic episode, Travis Chappell and his producer Eric uncover one of the easiest ways to immediately put cash in your pocket: unclaimed property. Eric promises that not only Travis, but listeners and their families, can find "quantifiable amounts of money" just waiting to be claimed—simply by searching their names in state unclaimed property databases. The conversation demystifies the process, shares personal stories, and even explores the potential of turning this into a side hustle. It’s a practical, surprising, and lighthearted guide to finding "hidden money" you may have forgotten all about.
[03:13–04:26]
Eric [03:26]: "When they can't find you to pay you, they just give it to the city to put in unclaimed property."
[04:30–10:12]
Eric [08:47]: “That’s free money... if you’re listening to this, there are people with hundreds, even thousands of dollars waiting for them right now.”
Travis [11:13]: “And I have $12.96. So between the two of us, we have basically a free dinner.”
[05:02–07:00]
Eric [05:04]: “Make sure it’s the official site—this is the state comptroller’s office... Google unclaimed property, your state. Pull over the car, or not—I can’t control you. Just go check!”
[12:37–14:38]
Eric [13:25]: “Once you convince them that it’s not a scam... you can get a finder’s fee—not more than 10%. Great side hustle for a high school student!”
[17:00–21:41]
Travis [20:27]: “Fifty to seventy billion dollars sitting in unclaimed property across the country!”
Eric [20:41]: “Go to your zip code, type it in... there’s hundreds of thousands of dollars in your neighborhood easily.”
[21:41–24:25]
Travis [22:24]: “…With AI and stuff, if you spent a couple days… you could probably make some pretty decent money. Name a better form of business!”
Eric [23:19]: “It’s the best cold call because you’re telling them they get free money!”
Eric, opening bold promise [00:55]:
“I guarantee you I’m going to make you and some people in your family money... you’ll be able to quantify.”
Eric, on family and skepticism [05:39]:
“I sent my brother [info]... I think he thought I was hacked or something.”
Jackie (Travis’ wife) reaction, live on air [11:13]:
“What’s the catch?”
Eric: “There’s no catch. You just have to file a claim.”
Eric, imagining the business opportunity [14:38]:
“...if someone approaches you, you can just skip them and go straight to the website and search it yourself.”
On the largest payouts [19:01]:
Travis: “$6.1 million.”
Eric: “I don’t think that’s that crazy... imagine, just finding you have $1,000 that’s just gone is crazy.”
On the massive national pool [20:27]:
Travis: “50 to 70 billion is crazy.”
Practical tip for listeners [25:02]:
Eric: “...if you move states, search every state you lived in. Search unclaimed property your state, put in your name and make some money.”
