Today on the show, I'm talking to a good friend of mine, Shane Sams. Shane is a speaker, creator and master storyteller who's generated over $25 million in sales, speaking on stages, webinars and through organic content marketing. He teach speakers, entrepreneurs and coaches how to transform their life story into their greatest business asset through a story pitch program. It's also the founder of the Great men project@greatmen.org a movement helping successful men navigate midlife, redefine success and build a great life on their own terms. Shane. What's up, dude?

Welcome back, T. Chapel. It is good to hang out with you today, brother. I love to see your face every time it pops up on the screen. What's up, man?
Travis Chapel (0:55)
You're one of few, my man. One of few. Well, tell me. Let's, let's go back in time here, dude. Obviously, you, you, you, your story's a little bit unconventional because you did not start off in entrepreneurship, right? You were a teacher.
Shane Sams (1:11)
Totally, ma'.
Travis Chapel (1:11)
Am. Basically you were like, yeah, I like teaching, but that does not mean that I have to get paid nothing to do it for the rest of my life. And basically, it's what you do now. You just are an entrepreneur and teach other things and get paid a lot more money to do it, right?
Shane Sams (1:27)
Yeah, man. It's, it's funny how, like, I think people think they waste time when they do something and they change careers or whatever, but I have found that nobody knows what in the hell you're doing at any moment in your life and you're just stacking on the foundation of the past. So, like, when I was a teacher, we had a lot of things that happened. I wasn't happy working with people. I was making $2,500 a month as a school teacher. And then I had a salary schedule that sent me into the future. I could tell you what I was going to make every year for the rest of my life. And I, at some point I was like, this is not acceptable. I just can't let other people tell me what to do with my time. I'm never going to make any more money. I'm already Getting behind the eight ball. And I discovered online business though.
