Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
Hi guys and welcome back to True Crime with Kendall Rae.
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
Newsflash, I'm not Kendall Ray, if you
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
couldn't already tell, or maybe you're listening to this and you think that we perhaps sound alike, but it is I, her cousin Janelle, and I am so excited to be recording this video today, you guys. I have been wanting to do a TC Care video for a long time, but have never gotten the chance. And as we all know, lovely Kendall is on maternity leave right now enjoying her new baby boy. And she invited me to come on the channel and record a video for you guys today. Which again, I'm so excited for. A little bit nervous because there's some big shoes to fill here obviously, but nonetheless, I'm super excited for today's episode. Side note, I'm getting over cold, which is just perfect timing. So if I sound a little nasally, I am sorry, but I'm going to do my best to sound the least annoying that I can. Now, if you don't know who I am, like I said, I am Kendall's cousin. I work with her and we're besties as well outside of work. But I also co host a show called the Sesh with her and it is a very.
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
It is basically the opposite of a
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
true crime show, if you will. It's just very relaxed. It's kind of shoot the shit. We talk about pop culture and current events, we play games, we talk about our feelings. Sometimes we kind of just do whatever we want on that show. And so if you ever are, you know, interested in checking it out, there's
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
always a link below.
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
I'm sure that there's a Little bit of overlap, but obviously this channel is much bigger than the audience over on the sesh. And so I think for the most part, you guys don't know who I am, but I wanted to go ahead and give myself a little bit of an introduction. So you aren't just like, who is
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
this complete rando on your screen?
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
But I appreciate everyone who is tuning in today. Despite Kendall being gone. She's actually going to be back sooner than you think. Her maternity leave is flying by, and I'm really excited to have her back because I've missed working with her. So stay tuned. There's not much longer until she's back on the show and on your screens. So for today's episode, I have one of truly the craziest fraud stories I have ever come across. I know that Kendall has done many fraud stories on her channel in the
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
past, but, oh, my God, this one
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
is actually insane, you guys.
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
Like, I can't even explain to you.
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
Just when you think this story couldn't get any crazier, we peel back an
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
entire new layer of crazy.
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
Okay? It is truly one of the most wild cases. And I know that Kendall would have loved to talk about this case with you guys today, but I just could not pass up the opportunity when I came across it because it is truly so, so wild. So, like I said, it is a fraud. However, there is also a element of awareness that needs to be raised as well that I think is really important that we discuss. So we're going to go ahead and do that too. And that is because this dude that we are about to talk about today,
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
this Pillsbury Doughboy looking ass mother effort.
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
I don't know if I can say how many times I'm allowed to say that word on this channel. Usually I just let it rip on the sesh, but I'm trying to be a little bit more professional on the TCKR channel.
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
Regardless, he escaped from prison and is still on the run.
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
Yeah, it's truly one of the craziest stories. I think we just need to go ahead and jump right into it. And let's start off by giving you
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
a little bit of background and setting the scene here. So it was 2017 in the Isle of Wight, which is an island off the south coast of England.
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
And from the photos I've seen, this
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
place looks insanely gorgeous.
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
You guys. I've never been to England, but oh my God, it looks so beautiful. They have these really gorgeous beaches and these massive cliffsides. It's the kind of place that you would be Very lucky to live in. And if any of you live in the Isle of Wight, please comment down below because I'm curious how it is down there. It just looks so beautiful. Definitely a place that I would like to visit one day ever.
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
20 year old Megan Clark, she would have considered herself one of the lucky ones who got to live there.
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
So like I said, today's story starts in 2017. And as far as I can tell, Megan was living her best life.
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
She was thriving. She had a great group of girlfriends
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
that she was always hanging out with, she had a good dating life and
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
she had a job that she really, really loved.
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
So at the time, Megan was managing a restauran restaurant and I guess there was this couple that would come and
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
visit the area quite frequently and they
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
actually ended up purchasing a bar in the area. And after they purchased this bar, they ended up asking Megan if she wanted
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
to go ahead and manage it for them.
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
And she was like, yeah, absolutely.
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
That's super cool.
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
The bar seemed like a really vibey
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
kind of like cocktail bar. And from all accounts, she absolutely loved her job. This bar was really like her baby
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
and she spent a ton of time working there.
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
If she wasn't there, she would, you
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
know, be out with her friends, who, by the way, have only said amazing things about her. According to her friend Georgie, Megan is
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
a genuinely kind human being.
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
And from what I gathered, she was as well. I mean, I have watched a couple interviews with her. She was on a podcast, which I can link below, and she just seems like a really, really cool, down to earth person. Her friend Georgie says that she is like a friend, sister and therapist all in one.
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
And not to mention, she is a
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
total catch, absolutely gorgeous. And her friends also describe her as a serial dater, which I love that, you know what, more power to you, girl. And at the time, Megan was kind
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
of just dating around, exploring her options, but she was open to a more
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
serious relationship if the right person were to come along. She said that she didn't really necessarily
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
have a type, but she does look for guys with nice smiles and eyes as well as someone who can make her laugh.
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
And one day while she's working at this bar, a dude walks in and
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
immediately grabs her attention.
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
She said that he was tall, really
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
well dressed, and wasn't the typical type of person that, that you would see in that area.
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
So naturally he stood out to her. And I think that she stood out
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
to him as well because he immediately went and approached her and the two of them hit it off right away. And he told her his name was Robert Underwood, but she could call him Birdie.
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
And based on her first impression of
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
him, she felt like he was a polite and well mannered person. He told her that he just moved to the area from the mainland after winning an auction on this big beautiful house on the water. And he also told her that he worked as a horologist, which for anyone
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
like me who has absolutely no idea what that is, it's someone who does
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
designs and repairs watches and clocks.
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
And it was all very impressive sounding.
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
And something about him just piqued Megan's interest.
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
And so it wasn't that much longer
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
until he made the first move.
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
And shortly after meeting for the first time, he sent this big bouquet of
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
flowers to the bar with a note that read something along the lines of, it was lovely to meet you, be ready for 7pm tonight, I'm taking you on a date. And Megan said that this literally felt
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
like a romantic gesture out of a movie.
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
And honestly, I couldn't tell you one
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
person that wouldn't be just as excited to get a big beautiful bouquet of flowers and a note being like, hey,
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
I'm picking you up.
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
Like, ah, there is something so satisfying and romantic out of a man making plans instead of just being like, I don't know, what do you want to do? Especially in a world where dating apps can be so scary and unpredictable. I mean, I myself don't have really any experience on a dating app. However, I have many friends who are on dating apps and the stories that
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
they tell are just so bad. Like it just seems so. The. The bar is so low out there, I'll just say that.
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
But anyway, so Birdie comes, picks her up at 7 o' clock like he said he would. And apparently this first date was very, very lavish. They went to this place called the Royal for dinner and Megan says that
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
it was by far the nicest first date she had ever been on.
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
And there was this attraction between them right away.
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
And then after dinner, he invited her back to his place for a cup of tea.
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
And it sounds like she was blown away by the house that he lived
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
in and apparent her all these stories about how he transformed the place through all these renovations and how he sourced only the finest materials and art for it.
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
It really does sound so beautiful. And according to her, it was one of the most extravagant places that she had ever been to.
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
But you're probably thinking to yourself, okay, Birdie is 28 years old. How is he acquiring all the money in order to get all these lavish, beautiful Things in his beautiful house, sending her flowers, taking her on dates. Where is the income coming from? Well, according to Birdie, get ready for this. It was because he was a lord, and I literally had to look this
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
shit up because I needed to know
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
exactly what he was claiming to be.
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
And this is what I found online.
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
Lord in the British Isle, a general title for a prince or sovereign or for a feudal superior, especially a feudal tenant who holds directly from the king, that is a baron.
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
In the United Kingdom, the title today
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
denotes a peer of the realm, whether or not he sits in parliament as a member of the House of Lords. So, yeah, he tells Megan that he's a lord, and he explains that the title was passed down from his great grandfather, who he claimed was the inventor of the Underwood typewriter, hence the name Robert Underwood. And honestly, the details of his story
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
are a little wonky to me. And even Megan has described how it's really confusing to her.
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
And she says that she didn't really
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
understand where it all came from, but that she didn't really care. And so she didn't ask him any more questions, which I kind of love. She's like, all right, dude, whatever you say. You're a lord.
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
Okay, great.
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
Because honestly, she was just happy to be dating someone who seemed like a nice guy and that who actually took
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
a genuine interest in her and was treating her right.
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
And after that first night, the two were practically inseparable.
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
And this dude charmed her every which way that he could, including taking her on vacations and buying her fancy gifts.
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
Birdie would tell her that he was
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
going on these, quote, business trips pretty often, and when he would come back from those trips, he'd almost always have a bag or jewelry or some type of gift for her. The dude even bought her a car. And if he wasn't such a lying sack of dog, I'd say Megan was living the dream. But that was definitely not the case, because poor Megan was actually being duped the entire time, and her family was, too.

So I have been getting back into
Sponsor/Ad Voice (Grow Therapy, Fabletics, Merit Beauty, Rocket Money, Square)
my fitness routine now that I am two months postpartum and I have been loving my Fabletics gear. It's all I've been working out in and it's all I've been wearing as well. I'm currently wearing my Fabletics flare leggings with tummy control and I've gotta say and I am being 100% serious. I've tried a lot of tummy control leggings as someone with a lovely mom pooch and Fabletics Tummy control leggings are by far the best that I've ever put on. I feel so confident in them and they're great to work out in. Everything just feels so secured. They just came out with the cutest set that kind of looks like washed denim. It's called Washed Velvet Dawn. I'm obsessed with the color. They're so comfortable. I've worn them so many times already and I've also been living in their daydreamer pant. It is so comfortable. I have them in the shade almond milk and they go with everything. And I love being a Fabletics VIP because every month I like to set a little fitness goal for myself and if I complete my fitness goal I buy myself some type of gear for the gym because I just feel better if I'm in workout clothes that I'm going to feel comfortable and confident in and if I don't hit my goal for the month I can easily just skip it. But I'm telling you, if you are not yet a Fabletics VIP member, you are totally missing out. Their stuff is amazing. I am shocked at the quality for the price. It's truly amazing and I love how easy their pieces are to just wear throughout the day. Like I can throw on a matching set for my workout but then keep it on for running errands throughout the day or sometimes I even record in them and it just takes the stress out of getting dressed and this is perfect timing. Okay, so when I gave birth, a ton of the nurses were wearing Fabletic scrubs, which I thought was the coolest thing. They were all telling me how comfortable they are. They're their favorite scrubs. And for the heroes in our community, our Nurses Nurses Week is actually coming up. So if you're a healthcare provider or you have someone in your life who is they're actually running a really good offer. New VIPs can get a scrub set for just 15, so shop now@fabletics.com TCKR to get 70 to 80% off everything when you sign up as a new VIP. Take a quick style quiz and be sure to select TCKR when prompted to unlock this offer. This is a limited time offer, so don't wait. Again, that's Fabletics.com TCKR for 70 to 80% off everything as a new VIP. As a postpartum mama who is taking care of a toddler and a two month old right now, I'm not trying to spend an hour getting ready, but

I'm also not trying to look like

Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
Her mom, Caressa, which I hope I'm saying that right, said that he got really close with them as well.
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
And she was just so happy that
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
her daughter had found someone who was
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
treating her so well and the way
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
that she really deserved to be treated. And I think because of the fact
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
that he was treating her so well and things seemed to be going so
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
smoothly, it was easy to overlook how fast things were moving because just after a few weeks into dating, he told her that he loved her over dinner, and pretty soon after that, he'd ask her to move in with him. And she had actually never lived with a partner before. But I can see how in the
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
excitement of it all, that she was
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
just excited to say yes and continue
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
on this journey that she had started with him.
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
So the two of them move in
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
together, and I'm sure you can guess what happens next.
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
It would be a proposal.
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
That's right, y'.
Sponsor/Ad Voice (Apple Books)
All.
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
Four months into their relationship, he popped the question, and he did it on Christmas Day with a ring from Carter Cartier.
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
And I think, Obviously, hindsight is 2020 here. I mean, getting engaged after only four months of dating is.
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
Is very fast.
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
And that's not to say that quick engagements can't always work out. I mean, I know people in my life who were dating only for a
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
couple of months or even a couple
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
of weeks before they got engaged, and it worked out for them. But, I mean, yeah, it's no lie that four months is definitely quick.
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
But in defense of Megan, she was being really love bombed by this guy, or honestly, like love nuked from this dude. And she really felt like she had found the one, someone who was going
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
to treat her the right way. And she was just so excited to
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
start her life with him. And he even got her this little Chihuahua puppy that they named Schubert for when he was away on work trips that she wouldn't be alone.
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
And I don't know about you guys,
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
but someone getting me a dog is absolutely the way to my heart. So I can't blame her for falling
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
head over heels for this guy because
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
everything was such, you know, big grand gestures with Birdie, and their wedding was
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
going to be no exception.
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
Megan says that he was shelling out the big bucks for their wedding that he wanted to have at the Osborne House, which was the formal royal summer residence of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert. So you can imagine how fancy and
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
expensive this wedding was going to be. I mean, this shit literally looks like it's out of a fairy tale.
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
It's absolutely gorgeous.
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
If you're watching right now, you'll see pictures. It is so, so stunning.
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
Oh, and get this. Megan was told that she was going to be gaining a title once they tied the knot, and according to Google, that would make her a lady. Lady Underwood, I think. And just to be clear, this was
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
not what she was after. I mean, like I said, I listened to a podcast that she was on, and you can just tell that this
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
is not that important to her, this type of stuff. She was just really in love with him and loved him for him, not because he was a lord.
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
And so she was just excited to
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
be with him, regardless of the title. What was most important to her was just marrying someone that she loved or thought she loved, who treated her better than she had ever been treated before. But here's the thing, though. Once Megan was truly under his bell, he started to display textbook signs of abuse, specifically emotional abuse, and the big one being isolation. First off, he convinced Megan to leave her job at the bar, which, like I said, she loved this job, this job was like her baby. But he convinced her to leave the job and go work for him at his watch business because she explained that he didn't like how much time she was spending at the bar and that random guys could talk to her there.
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
So it would just, you know, be
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
better for the both of them if she worked for him. Clearly this guy's got major jealousy issues, which will become very ironic here shortly. But yeah, Megan agreed to quit working
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
at the bar and she started running
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
the social media and email marketing for his company, which, by the way, this
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
company was absolute bogus from my understanding.
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
He was basically purchasing old broken Rolexes, fixing them, and then reselling them.
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
And I genuinely have no idea if
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
these Rolexes were even real or how he was obtaining them. But unbeknownst to Megan, he was actually ripping people off on ebay. So I'm pretty sure he would just post the pictures of these watches on
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
ebay and then when someone would purchase
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
them, he would never end up actually shipping them out.
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
And I'm pretty sure there was also a lot of counterfeit stuff. Just based on the rest of the details in this story, it doesn't seem like the dude really had a plethora
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
of legitimate Rolex or other high design brands of watches. But anyways, back to the emotional abuse that Megan was enduring during this time. Another thing Bertie would do, or I guess wouldn't do, is he wouldn't let Megan post him on her social media. And it wasn't just the fact that he wouldn't let her post him on social media.
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
It was also the fact that anytime
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
she asked him why she wasn't allowed to post him, that he would freak the out.
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
And I'm not trying to put any blame on her for not seeing this as a red flag, but this is
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
a red flag because I just feel like if someone is not allowing you to post them on social media, chances
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
are there's a reason for it. And it's probably because they're doing something shady behind closed doors. I mean, not always. I'm sure there's different scenarios and reasons as to why someone wouldn't want to have a social media presence, but I
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
think generally speaking, it's definitely a little bit sus that he didn't want her posting him at all online.
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
And same with the isolation stuff. You know, I know that Kendall talks about this type of stuff on her channel a lot, but if I could just back her up for a second. Isolation is a form of control in an abusive relationship. And it doesn't always have to start
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
out super extreme either. In Megan's case, it started with having her quit her job, which, you know, he convinced her was the right thing to do. And then eventually she got to the point where she was hanging out with
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
her friends less and less, and he was just slowly gaining more and more
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
control over her life. And her friends were worried about her
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
and worried about how fast things were moving with Birdie. But for at least a little while
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
longer, Megan was still positive that he was her person. That is, until about two months out from their wedding.
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
And I'm not 100% sure of the exact date of their wedding.
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
I'm pretty sure it was sometime in 2018. And this is when Meghan's spidey senses were tingling. So basically, the entire time that the
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
two of them were living together, Birdie
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
was getting a ton of mail, like,
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
way more than a normal household would get. And every time Megan would bring it up or ask him about it, he
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
had really no way of explaining what all this mail was or where it
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
was all coming from.
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
And because of that, she decided to do some investigating. A little snooping around, if you will. And we love to see it. Okay. Sometimes you got to take matters into your own hands. So she ends up going through his desk, and that's when she finds several different bank cards under several different names. And none of these names she knew him by. And right off the bat, this is absolutely terrifying. She's shocked and she's scared and confused,
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
and she's also pissed, which I don't blame her for.
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
And in that moment, everything just kind of clicked that Birdie wasn't who he said he was. And to top it off, he was super defensive and angry with her when she tried to ask him about it. But clearly something is up.
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
This is a very sketchy situation, and
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
alarm bells are going off. So she decides that she's going to go ahead and stay with her mom while she continues to try and figure
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
out what the hell is going on. And that's when the two of them
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
learned the terrifying truth. After googling some of the names that she had seen on those bank cards, Megan learned that Robert was actually a convicted con man. There were several news articles about how dangerous he was and how he'd con people out of thousands and thousands of dollars, or, I guess, pounds in this case. But regardless, tons and tons of money. And that's just the tip of the iceberg. Okay? And pretty soon after finding all this out, Megan began looking through more mail that the two of them had been receiving. And this is when she found out, you guys, that this dude had taken out several credit cards and loans in her name.
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
Between credit cards, business accounts, and other
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
bills he'd put in her name. Megan realized he put her in about 30,000 pounds worth of debt, which was roughly, you know, between 38 and 40,000 US dollars. And you want to hear something? So up, you guys?
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
When I heard this, I seriously couldn't believe it. She.
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
When she finds us out, she goes to the police, and the police are
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
basically like, sorry, there's nothing we can
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
really do about this, because this fraud was more of a domestic issue, and she was pretty much on her own
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
is what they told her.
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
In fact, she ended up having to pay off this debt entirely by herself. So, being the smart woman that she
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
is, she decided that she would go
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
ahead and try and sell her engagement ring, thinking that she could recoup a significant amount of money by doing that, but come to find out that thing was a total fake and worth absolutely nothing. So Megan decides that she's gonna go confront this fucker, but as soon as
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
she tries to do that, she figures
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
out that he actually bail and left the island. But not before he made one last attempt to trick her. According to Megan, he tried to convince her that he never meant to do this to her. And then it was never supposed to go that far. Oh, such a sob story. Poor little birdie. He really didn't see this one coming. But luckily, at this point, Megan was
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
like, all right, I'm not falling for
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
this dude's shit any longer. I clearly have to do something. And unfortunately, the police didn't seem like
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
they were going to go ahead and do anything.
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
So her and her mom took matters into their own hands, and they started by posting on Facebook a bunch of pictures of him, along with the story of everything that he had done and everything that Megan had been through. And the goal was to try and
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
get as many eyes on this story
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
as possible so that he couldn't victimize any more people.
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
And it's a good thing that she went ahead and posted on that, because.
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
Holy, you guys. The response was insane.
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
Pretty soon after putting it up, the
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
post started getting hundreds and then thousands of shares. And not long after that, her inbox was flooded with messages that only made her realize how much more messed up the whole situation really was. And, you guys, I don't think you're ready for what is coming next. This story truly gets so much more insane. So once she posts that on Facebook, she starts to get other messages from men claiming to be Robert's boyfriend, both from men who claimed that they had dated him in the past and who also claimed that they were currently dating him. And there was a common theme from all these men. And that was that Robert was stealing from them. He basically pulled the same bullshit about being a lord to every single one of them and somehow convinced these people to fall for him, all while he was manipulating and stealing from them. And I believe that most of the men that he had matched with were on Grindr. And if you remember those business trips
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
that he talked about going on in
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
the past, well, yeah, he actually wasn't doing any sort of business.
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
Well, maybe he was getting down to business, if you catch my drift. But he was not on a work trip.
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
He was cheating on Megan that entire time. Sometimes he even had these men come to their house when she wasn't there to sleep with them in her bed.
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
And to top it all off, one
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
of the guys who reached out to Megan was someone that she already knew.
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
So there was this guy named Alex that she had actually been introduced to through Robert.
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
And she was under the impression that he was actually the artist that was creating a illustrated book about Robert's life. And this was somewhat true.
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
Alex was an artist who agreed to make an illustrated book about Robert's story.
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
But he was also a lot more than that.
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
The exact timeline is a little unclear,
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
but sometime as Megan and Robert's relationship was unfolding, he and Alex met online via a Craigslist ad.
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
Alex was living in Korea at the
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
time, and he had this art studio on top of a mountain, and I guess it gets pretty lonely up there. So one day he decided to put out a men seeking men ad on Craigslist.
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
And it was sort of just a
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
laundry list of his perfect guy. And Alex really wasn't expecting a whole
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
lot to come of this.
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
But about a month after he posted the ad, he got a message from, you guessed it, our little lord. And Robert's message to Alex reads, reads, quote, hi there, I have seen your advert on Craigslist. I went on there to see if I could find someone to do the ironing, then saw the Men Seeking men section. I know your post is a month old now, but hopefully you're still looking for something.
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
I do not live in Brighton, but
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
I'm in St. Leonard's near Hastings. I'm 282 and I'm a watchmaker, do
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
not meet the requirements of having an
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
interesting job, am reasonable looking and like to enjoy myself. My friends say I'm the only gay, watchmaking, rugby playing pianist they know.
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
Which to be fair, I. I am
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
probably the only one of those in the country. And from that point forward, they began
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
talking on the phone, like all the time.
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
And Alex remembers that they could really talk about anything and everything. And Alex was apparently super fascinated by Robert because he had these absolutely insane stories. For example, one time he made a
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
comment to Robert about the fact that
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
he looked a lot younger than he was claiming to be. And Robert gave him this whole story about how one time he was with his ex boyfriend who tried to kill him and therefore he had to get his face reconstructed. And that's why he looked the way that he did.
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
All of his stories were super dark
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
and mysterious, and Alex says that it all really intrigued him. But when the time came for the two of them to officially meet up, which was about a month after they first started texting, he wasn't so sure he wanted anything romantic with Robert.
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
Alex told him that he just wanted
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
to meet up as friends, which Robert said that he was fine with.
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
So they ended up meeting at a pub, and that's when he divulged his
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
whole spiel of I'm a very rich and happy important person. And while they were at the pub, Robert went and pointed out a Bentley that was parked on the street. And he told Alex that it was his car, which then segued into him explaining that he was an earl.
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
Then over the course of that evening,
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
he talked about how he had a bodyguard and his own personal driver and
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
a whole bunch of other things to
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
make him seem more impressive than he really was. And over the course of their friendship,
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
or whatever it was, Robert started dropping
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
hints that he wanted Alex to make art for him. And that is where Megan comes back into the picture.

Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
Now get this.
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
Robert tells Alex that he met this. This girl who he described as a diamond in the rough. And he said that he bought a mansion for them to live in on the Isle of Wight that he wanted this artwork for. Well then throughout his and Megan's relationship, Alex just sort of became this person who Robert was always on the phone with. And according to Megan, Alex was even on the wedding invite list, which he later said Robert never even mentioned that they were engaged.
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
And what's crazy is that Robert would
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
use his phone to make his lies more believable.
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
And one of the biggest examples of
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
that is that that he was always on the phone with his daddy.
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
And I don't know if he was
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
on speakerphone or what, but however it was, it would always be loud enough for other people to hear their conversation and they would talk about his duties and whatnot as an Earl. So when people like Megan and Alex would hear these phone conversations, they totally believe that that's exactly what he was doing because Robert basically had this other human corroborating his story. And I was super curious to try
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
and figure out, like, who was this
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
other person on the phone that, that Robert was claiming was his daddy.
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
And from what I've gathered, Megan thinks
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
it may have been this guy with an intellectual disability that Robert was also
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
manipulating, which if that's the case, he's just such. Such a piece of more than he already is. And she doesn't know if he was
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
paying him to say all these things or what, but clearly this was another one of his victims in one way or another.
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
And I know you guys are probably
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
curious, but she said she never met
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
anyone in his family.
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
The only people in his circle that
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
she met were some of his friends.
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
And there was this one guy in
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
particular who she said that she met
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
on several occasions and he would stay at their house quite a bit.
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
And what's insane is that Robert and this dude would tell Megan all these
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
different stories about how they grew up together, how they went to school together. However, that was not the case at all. And Megan later found out that this
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
guy was actually someone that Robert had
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
only known for a few years. And I genuinely have no idea how
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
he got this guy to get wrapped up into his lies, etc.
Sponsor/Ad Voice (Grow Therapy, Fabletics, Merit Beauty, Rocket Money, Square)
But.
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
But isn't that fucking crazy?
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
And it's also a great example of
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
just how much he used and manipulated other people, brought them into his web of bullshit lies in order to make
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
his story sound more believable.
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
And for Alex, it came to light when Robert started asking him to do something he wasn't comfortable with. Specifically, he'd asked him to doctor some bank statements and passports.
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
And when Alex said no to that,
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
Robert became super weird and distant. And then eventually he just ghosted him. And listen, it was probably best case
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
scenario for Alex to be ghost by Robert so that he couldn't be victimized
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
by Robert any longer and he could get out of his weird creepy spell of lies and bullshit.
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
But as it does, human curiosity really
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
did get the best of him.
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
And he was so curious as to why Robert essentially just ghosted him one day. So he ended up reaching out to one of his friends, who's a police
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
officer that Robert also mentioned that he knew as well.
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
I wouldn't say it was necessarily a mutual friend, but it was someone that Alex had told Robert that he had also met. And when Alex reached out to this
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
police, he told him, dude, you need to stay far, far away from Robert. And that's how he first learned that he was not who he said he was and that he'd already been to prison for stealing money. Robert truly had been doing this for years. And Megan and Alex really only represent a small portion of the people he lied to and stole from. And it wasn't just people that he stole from, it was also institutions. I don't know if you guys are familiar with the department store called Harrods,
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
but I guess when he was like
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
18 or 19 years old, he somehow managed to steal half a million pounds from them.
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
From what I gathered, it sounds like
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
he was forging bank statements and then writing faulty checks for these big purchases. And he even did that when purchasing cars. And for whatever reason, Bentleys were really his thing.
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
And in 2012, he wrote a bad
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
check when purchasing one. Although that time he got caught pretty quickly.
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
But I will say people rather than
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
businesses were his biggest targets.
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
In fact, in 2016, a year before meeting Megan, Robert was actually doing this
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
to a guy named Miles Mike. The two of them met on Grindr
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
and started hanging out and whatnot.
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
And he heard all the same stories I've already told you. The difference with his story, though, is Robert tricked Mike into giving him his passport and ebay login, which he then used to further scam people out of thousands of dollars. Basically, what he told Mike was this story about how he had this trip
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
planned to go to Italy, but then his friend ended up bailing, and so
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
he had this extra ticket, and he asked him if he would want to go with him.
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
Robert said that everything was already paid for, and really all he had to
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
do was get a copy of his passport so that he could then transfer the ticket to Mike.
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
And Mike at the time had no idea who Robert really was.
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
And he was like, yeah, that sounds great.
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
So he went ahead and sent him
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
a photo of his passport, not really thinking twice about it. Well, apparently, Robert then told Mike that he needed a big favor from him. He said that he had been frozen out of his ebay account and needed help selling this one Rolex.
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
So he wanted to know if Mike
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
would sell it for him when. Which Mike ended up agreeing to do. But fast forward a month. Mike started getting all these messages from people asking where their watch was, only for him to realize that there was never actually a watch at all.
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
So Robert was pretending to sell these watches to people, and then once he
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
got their money, he ended up just
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
ghosting them and never sent them their watches.
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
And he was doing all of this through Mike's ebay account. And I guess Robert needed the passport to verify his account or something. But, yeah, essentially he was scamming people under Mike's name.
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
And what's really weird is that once Mike figured all this out, he ended up confronting Robert, and Robert was basically like, no, no, no, dude.
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
This is just a big misunderstanding.
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
Like, it's all good. I'm gonna get this all figured out. You don't have to worry about it. But he ended up just ghosting Mike instead.
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
And the next time that Mike was really thrown into the orbit of all of this was when he saw that Facebook post that Megan and her mom had created. And that's when he went to the police. And luckily, this time, the police decided to actually take him seriously. Once he realized the scale of this, contacted the Hastings police station, who Launched an investigation into all the claims made against Robert, and they determined that several crimes had been committed. The evidence was then brought to a jury, and they determined that he should serve five years for his crimes. The thing is, though, nobody knew where he was. It actually wasn't until a year and a half later that he was finally arrested.
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
And by this point, Megan was finally
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
starting to heal from all of this.
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
And that's when she got a message
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
on Facebook that he'd finally been caught. Which at first, this was definitely a big sigh of relief for her. But then, only about two years into his sentence, all hell broke loose when
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
Robert, whatever the hell his last name
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
actually is, ended up escaping from prison. He was in what they call an
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
open prison, which is for low risk
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
inmates at low security facilities. And it essentially means that prisoners have freedom in the day to work or
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
go to school, but they have to
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
return to prison at night.
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
And yeah, Robert somehow managed to get
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
his monitoring device off and he was
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
gone like the wind.
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
But it gets worse, folks, because guess what? They still haven't found him to this day. But it's not like he's gone into complete hiding. According to Megan, he's still out here conning people. I literally can't make this shit up. The dude goes to prison, escapes from prison, and then continues to con people to this day. So she took part in this documentary,
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
which is how I found this case.
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
And she since said that after the documentary came out, a guy reached out to her saying that he knew who Robert was, only that he knew him as a man named Leo Fitzland Howard.
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
And it's basically the same story over and over again. The only difference is, is that he's
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
living in an RV and he's telling
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
people that the reason he's living in an RV right now is because his mansion is getting renovated. Yada yada. Sound familiar?
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
It's the same thing over and over again. Oh, and remember that beautiful house that
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
he took Megan to a cup of
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
tea after their date? Well, it turns out he didn't own this house. He was actually renting it. This dude is the biggest fucking loser I have ever heard of. He's also apparently been known to drive a red Ferrari, which he's been asking to park at different people's houses. And I'm guessing because he either stole it or paid for it with a
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
faulty check, I don't really know the reason for it.
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
And honestly, you guys, there are so many other side quests that this dude
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
has done and so many other stories, but These are really the main ones that have hit the news. And not all of his victims have
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
come forward publicly, which I completely respect.
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
And at first, Megan was actually really
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
hesitant to do the documentary, but she
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
decided that she was going to go ahead and participate because she wanted to help spread the word and hopefully, you
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
know, make sure that no one else is being scammed. And hearing this is really one of
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
the reasons that I wanted to cover this in the first place.
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
Aside from just being able to poke fun at this complete loser, I also
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
feel like it's really important that hit
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
his face is plastered all over the Internet until he's found. Because for all we know, he could be scamming tons of other people right now. Clearly he's not going to stop doing this probably ever. So the more people who know about him, hopefully the less people get victimized by him. And for Kendall's audio only listeners, I really want to encourage you to go ahead and take some time to look
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
him up or find this episode on YouTube so that you can get a
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
glimpse of his face.
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
Because who knows, maybe someone will actually recognize him out there and help.
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
Help put him back in jail where he belongs.
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
And as for his real name, because I know we've called him like eight
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
different things by now, no one really knows what his real name is. Megan thinks it's most likely Robert Majet Ski.
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
But like I said, he's gone through so many names, so it's really hard
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
to tell what his real, true legal name actually is. But Robert Daughtry was a big one that he was using for a while,
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
so maybe it's that.
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
I don't really.
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
I don't really know though.
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
I don't think it's Robert Underwood.
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
Like I said, I don't really know his real name, which is just insane. But before I leave you guys today, I wanted to go ahead and take a page out of Kendall's book and
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
leave you guys on somewhat of a positive note.
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
I wanted to share that Megan seems to be doing really, really well today.
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
And in order to pay off all
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
the debt he put her in, she
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
started up a photography business, which she's still actively doing to this day. She has a studio and does wedding and newborn photography. So I'm going to go ahead and
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
have her Instagram linked in the show notes or description box of this episode as well, so you guys can go
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
ahead and give her a follow. And I'm so curious to hear all of your guys's thoughts on this case.
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
You better believe I'm going to be
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
deep in these comments.
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
So please let me know your thoughts down below.
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
I just could not believe all this guy has done.
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
When I was researching this, you know, for the first time, I was like,
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
oh my God, that's crazy. Oh my God, that's crazy. Oh my. It just kept coming and coming.
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
More and more was coming out. It's like this almost seems fake how insane this dude is and how much
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
shit he's gotten away with for so many years.
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
Now he's on the run.
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
Like it's just, it's so wild to think about.
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
But yeah, that's pretty much where our
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
story ends today, folks. Thank you you so much for tuning in.
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
If you're still listening all the way to the end. I know that it's a little bit different than having Kendall here, but I
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
really enjoyed this and hopefully you enjoyed it as well.
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
And yeah, Kendall's gonna be back soon and I know that she's really excited to get back to recording. So stay tuned for that.
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
But I hope you guys are having a wonderful day.
Janelle (Kendall Rae's cousin and guest host)
Thank you again so much for tuning in.
Janelle (continuation, main narrator of the story)
And as always, stay safe out there.

Episode Title: He Pretended To Be A LORD, Stole Millions & Now He’s Missing After Escaping Prison?!
Release Date: May 28, 2026
Host: Janelle (Kendall Rae’s cousin, guest hosting during Kendall’s maternity leave)
Production: Mile Higher Media & Audioboom Studios
In this episode, Janelle steps in for Kendall Rae to share one of the "craziest fraud stories" she has ever come across — the shocking saga of a British conman who posed as a lord, fleeced dozens (if not more) for millions, emotionally manipulated and isolated his romantic targets, and, after conviction, managed to escape prison and remain at large. Focusing on the experience of one primary victim, Megan Clark, Janelle unpacks both the wild details of the fraud, the manipulative tactics used, and the systemic gaps that allowed this scammer to continue preying on unsuspecting individuals.
Janelle closes with a strong message about survivor resilience and the importance of community vigilance in cases of fraud, and reminds listeners:
“It's really important that his face is plastered all over the Internet until he's found." (44:00)
She also highlights Megan’s recovery and new successful career as a photographer, offering a positive note amid the story’s darkness.
Follow up on the episode with a warning: If you recognize Robert (aka Birdie, Robert Underwood, Robert Majet Ski, Robert Daughtry, Leo Fitzland Howard), be vigilant, warn others, and alert authorities—he continues to victimize people under new aliases and cover stories.
Listeners are encouraged to comment, share, and—if audio-only—“look him up or find this episode on YouTube…maybe someone will actually recognize him out there and help put him back in jail where he belongs.” (44:21)
