Hi friends. I am so excited to share something really special with you today. As you hopefully know by now, season two of True or Crime is almost here. We are one week out and I wanted to do something really meaningful to celebrate. For the longest time I put off the idea of hosting an event because I didn't really know where to start, to be honest. But over and over again I heard from listeners that this was something you really wanted. And I thought after everything you've done to support me and waiting so patiently for season two, I figured, like, if we're going to do this launch, we have got to do it right. So I am thrilled to invite you to Podcasting From Below, a free live event happening right here in my home city of Minneapolis. But don't leave if you're not local. Don't worry, I promise you will not miss out. This is going to be a celebration of the launch of Truer Crime Season 2 and the debut of my friend Chris Stedman's brand new podcast production company, Good Judy Productions. Chris is an incredible storyteller, a fellow Twin Cities local, and the creator of the podcast Unread, a show about queer friendship, grief and Britney Spears. Together we're going to dive into a conversation about the stories we tell, how we tell them, and why they matter. All the dates can be found in the description or on our Instagram reorcrimepod, but the event will take place at the Kahn Theater inside Plymouth Congregational Church on Nicollet Avenue in Minneapolis. Doors will open at 7pm and we'll kick things off at 7:30. But this is more than just a conversation. It's going to be a full celebration of community. Black Garnet Books will be there with a pop up shop and we're hosting a book drive as well to benefit the Women's Prison Book Project. You can bring a gently used book to donate or buy one on site to contribute. Queer Immunity Minnesota, an amazing local LGBTQ resource center will be tabling with information about ways to get involved and and of course there will be cupcakes and refreshments to enjoy. And those cupcakes are generously provided by Sift Gluten Free if you're not in Minneapolis. Like I said, I still got you. This event's gonna be live streamed on YouTube and if you sign up to the Truer crime newsletter@truercrime.substack.com I'll make sure you get the link to watch live. I really genuinely cannot convey how excited I am to celebrate this milestone with you. It's gonna be amazing. And before I go, I did wanna share one little secret, just between you and me. If you wanna hop on over to this feed again, you might get a little teaser of what's to come and the important stories we're going to be sharing this season. So thank you so much for being a part of this journey. I hope to see you at the event next week. And wow, it is so good to be back.
