Join two girls as we verbally doom-scroll through culture and the internet's most charted territory.

Welcome back to Two Girls One Culture! Today we’re taking an in depth look of female pop stars past and present in order to unpack the culture’s obsession with female sexuality and all the ways the music industry has sold this to us. Using iconic modes of pop stardom such as the innovative marketing behind Madonna and once in a generation talent of Britney we attempt to separate liberation from exploitation and venture to guess why acts like Lady Gaga and Björk seem difficult for the media to sexualise. This was a mammoth task so we’ve decided to treat you all to a two part episode! Stay tuned 💋

Hi everyone, we're sorry for having been gone so long! After having been on a break for Christmas and New Years, we are back with a light-hearted episode that takes a look at the intersection of club/rave culture with mainstream culture and music. As both of us love to go out and dance, we wanted to explore the way that these subcultures are being perceived in 2025, and take a look back to the 2010's, where we feel a similar rise of club culture appeared. Thank you so much for listening!

Hi everyone! This week we discuss para-social relationships, or one-sided relationships with celebrities, through three distinct categories - the identifying, the romantic and the aspirational. We also discuss some recent celebrity news with Chappell Roan as an insight into what we think celebrities owe us, and dive into our own para-social relationships. Thanks for listening!

Hi everyone, welcome back! Thank you all for listening to the last episode. This week we discuss the history of feminine 'cores' in culture and on the internet, and the impact that these aesthetic boxes have had on the collective female subconscious and feminism.
