It's Mary in la.
Courtney
And how do you feel?
Mary
I feel good. I had a blast last night. I mean, we were on the carpet for the 20th anniversary Real Housewives of Orange County. When we were driving over there, I was like, courtney, how is this our lives? How is this our jobs? I mean, this started as a fun little hobby and like we've made a career out of it every day. I'm shocked by this.
Courtney
No, it was true. At one point someone pulled us. I think it was for Bravo. So you might see us on Instagram at some point celebrating. But they asked, hey, what is Housewives mean to you? They literally gave us a job. Like these women gave us a job. And it's kind of weird to get emotional over it, except for the fact that it is emotional. These women raised us over these past 20 years. We're 40 now. We were 20 when we started watching this show.
Mary
And then I think about one why were we watching these 40 year old women like in college?
Courtney
I, I loved it. I was from Orange County. I wanted a peek behind their gate. I thought it was fascinating. Like, let's be real. We were watching Rock of Love. We were watching Flavor of Love. We were into the reality scope. So having this show was just really cool. To be a part of the 20th anniversary and the 20th season of Orange county, which is what the event was last night. And as you saw from our video, and we should be wearing them right now, but they are now vint relics. We were in our sky tops and we were kept laughing on our way over. We were like, everyone's going to be dressed up so nicely for this event. They're in full gowns, their hair and makeup are done.
Mary
Well, we transported everyone and some people didn't realize it was the sky top. Courtney's was tiedye. I mean, mine was a little bit more going out top and it had embellishment not Embezzlement.
Courtney
So we were, like, shooting this video. She kept saying embezzled. I was like, nope, nope. But it's because we kept calling Robins Embellished by ro. We kept calling it Embezzled by Robin. And I feel like that's just.
Mary
It was stuck in my head.
Courtney
It was stuck in my head. Now, a lot of the women recognized it.
Mary
Shannon right away, oh, my God, you're in a sky top.
Courtney
But recognize it. Tamara had commented on our video. I'm like, are we best friends with Tamara now?
Mary
Tamara immediately said, jo Ellen. Jo Ellen called Courtney Joellen.
Courtney
Yeah. So let's rewind a little bit so we can explain what the full event was. So we got invited by Bravo. So thank you. Bravo. They had what they called their creator, carp, and so they gave us the option to literally interview all the women. And there were. What would you say, like 15 or so of us there that got the opportunity, too. And everyone had great questions. And we were thinking about, like, what are we going to ask them? We wanted to be reminiscent of maybe their first taglines, but obviously that was going to get asked over and over again, especially through the 20th anniversary of this. The Mary came up with the brilliant idea.
Mary
Well, there's just that trend that we've done with the Valley.
Courtney
Yeah.
Mary
And so we had the women say an iconic line. Shannon did top of the morning, and Vicki did whoop it up. We had Terry debrow get in. So that is to be coming this week. And they say, you know, flirty. They do it. Disappointed. They do the original line. So that will be fun clips to come this week.
Courtney
Yeah. So we'll be sharing those throughout the week up until the premiere, which, you guys. We've also watched the premiere. We loved it.
Mary
I loved it. It feels good to have the OG of the O. C. Back. It felt right. And they kept on saying, at this this season is going to be lighter. They did a whole panel as well. But it does feel like it's immediately going to be a little bit more fun, and that's what they're going to focus on, which I appreciate it.
Courtney
And you could tell that the cast really had a good relationship. And I think what we talked about on our Atlanta recap, too, when Portia was talking to Kelly, is like, this is a sisterhood that they're all in. And so regardless of the show, I think that they appreciate being on an ensemble cast together. And honestly, all of the women looked fantastic.
Mary
Vicky in person looked great also. I'm so impressed with these women in their Heels, because, you guys, I brought out the white pumps. If you know, you know. And I had to keep on changing into my flip flops because it hurts so bad. I don't wear heels. And Shannon was wearing Christian Louboutins. They were probably 5 inches tall. They were super tall. And she's like, I can't walk in these shoes. My feet have shrunk. I used to be a nine. Now I'm at eight and a half. I have Kleenex in.
Courtney
But by the end of the night, she was in her air force ones.
Mary
Yes.
Courtney
What I thought was, like, so great about this event too, was these women, regardless of how you feel about them, they are rock stars and hard workers. They knew this is the 20th anniversary. We feel so lucky to be a part of this. They were giving 110% throughout the night. They wanted to have a good time too. Everyone was there to just celebrate. And I thought that was awesome.
Mary
It was a very small event.
Courtney
Yeah, it was pretty intimate. You had the.
Mary
The carpet. Then we went up and did a panel, and then there was an after party. But honestly, at that party at the end, 60 people, maybe, maybe 80. It was a very intimate setting. Like, you could totally mingle with them, have a glass of wine. Lou shows up, you guys. Ryan Bailey's like, lou just came. And I'm like, brian, you are pulling our leg. We always try to joke with Ryan. He is pilling a prank on us because he wants us to go look around the party for Lou. She was there. And I go up to her. I'm like, lou, how are you? I've been to your show seven times. And then like, can I get a photo? In the photo, her purse is open and she has her cigarettes, American spirits, yellow. And I'm just like, God, I love this woman.
Courtney
Oh, my God. I wonder if her and Dorit bonded
Mary
over those could have.
Courtney
So Lou was there because we were on the NBC Universal lot. And so they were doing confessionals for ultimate girls trip August 9th. She wanted to plug. Also, John Barlow messaged us and was like, oh, my God, we were in la. We should have stopped by this party. I'm like, john, you should have. So it sounded like a lot of the women were there doing their confessionals because that's going to be like the next show that premieres. Lou could have been nicer. When I ran into her, she's like, judgy girl. And I was like, lou, I love you. But wait, before we talk about the panel, we gotta talk about your Everest, because you conquered it. Last night.
Mary
Which one?
Courtney
Jeff Lewis. Oh, very.
Commercial Announcer
The lead.
Mary
So Jeff Lewis was at the party,
Courtney
but here's the best part, because Mary was wondering, will Jeff Lewis be there? Will Jeff Lewis be there? He's really good friends with Shannon. Will he be there? And he wasn't at the carpet part. And then when we got to the panel, we went into a theater room to go to the panel. We were in, like, the second row, and then Shannon in the panel shouted him out. And you could see Mary's face, like, he's here, he's here.
Mary
So then immediately after the panel, I'm like, ryan, you gotta introduce me to Jeff. And, you know, he was talking to some big wigs. I wasn't gonna annoy him. You know, you have to, like, look for the opening.
Courtney
Sure, yeah. It has to be organic.
Mary
Of course. Of course. So then finally, Ryan and I are having some drinks, and we tried to do it again. Didn't work. So frustrated. Then I'm talking to Terry debrow and. Wait, Terry Debrow? He was talking me and Courtney's ear off. We talked to him for probably 20, 30 minutes. I'm not kidding. He was hilarious. We were asking all about the doctor.
Courtney
We were just chit chatting. But so then it was like us talking to Tara, and we were kind of by the bar area. And so Lou and Jeff were together, and they started walking over, and I would kind of like, elbow Mary. Like, this is your. The moments. Like. Like he's walking to the bar. And by walking to the bar, I mean, we could reach across and touch him.
Mary
Yeah.
Courtney
And Mary, you lean over and you're like, hi, I'm Mary from Two Judgy Girls. And what does he say?
Mary
Oh, I know that podcast.
Courtney
I know you girls shakes her hand. I say, hi, I'm Courtney, but, you know, this isn't my moment. And then Mary goes, can I get a pick? I wanted a pick, and she got it.
Mary
I got the pick. Shane's in the pick. And that was the end of the story.
Courtney
But I think it was a good start. I'm sorry. I always say, don't meet your heroes. And not that these people are our heroes, but, you know, you want to be in a little bit of an arm's length. Terry debrow. We were asking him if he wanted to do his medical line about. We have a term in medicine, it's called penis. He was down for it. Like, they were wanting to have a good time. Heather was so nice, and we didn't get a chance on the carpet because it was running too long to talk to Heather and Gina, but we managed to talk to Heather at the after party, and we got the partners.
Commercial Announcer
We.
Courtney
So Travis was sitting in front of us at the panel, Gina's fiance. And he turned around after and was like, hi. I feel like I know you guys. He introduced himself to us.
Mary
He was very sweet. I got a photo with him.
Courtney
Yeah. For next year for March Madness. Because he's like, I never really submit a good photo. He said, let's get one now. And he was like, well, does it get me extra points if you're in it as a Mary, you get your sky top ass down there.
Mary
And maybe the sky top will help him in the competition.
Courtney
Will it bother you if. If they're ogling your boobs?
Mary
No.
Courtney
Okay. No.
Mary
I would like for him to get to.
Courtney
You wanted to give him a boob up.
Mary
Yeah. To get past the first route.
Courtney
So if we want to talk. The panel.
Mary
We. We. And speaking of the men.
Courtney
Oh.
Mary
Noticeably missing was Shane Simpson. And then during the panel, I also noticed that Emily wasn't wearing her wedding ring. And I just took note of these things. She talked openly about Shane and her husband, so that is just something to note.
Courtney
She found that. What's the word? Interesting.
Mary
It was interesting.
Courtney
By the way, Emily looks so good.
Mary
Like, she looks great.
Courtney
So amazing. Just, like, absolutely stunning.
Mary
She remembered the San Francisco night, and she called me out for being drunk.
Courtney
But she also said she's had a night of too many espresso martinis. Sometimes you have to be vulnerable.
Mary
She said that I would make a great housewife because I'm happy to get drunk around people, I guess. Yeah.
Courtney
And I think that's an attribute that you might want to have. And if we go into the panel. So they had all the women up there, plus Jo, and she was also lovely, too. And they were talking about what it means to be a housewife and what all this means to you. And it honestly made all of them so likable. And I hope that people get to see clips throughout this.
Mary
I have, like, completely changed my tune about Tamara because of the panel.
Courtney
Same.
Mary
I love what she said. She was like, you know, I literally got divorced on camera, and I showed women, like, you don't have to be in a bad relationship, and, like, you can work hard and make your own money, and you don't need a man to rely on. And I just think that's so empowering
Courtney
when you look up on that stage. We had Gina, we had Tamra, we had Vicky, we had Shannon, We Have Jen. And all these women went through a divorce on camera. They all came out on the other side. We've always said that Housewives is a second life for a lot of these women, and they're living proof of it. And one of the questions was like, how have you changed? And the woman asks Vicki, and Vicki completely does not answer the question just starts going off. When she was like, and I was asked to be a friend of. I don't want to ever be a friend of. But we do have to say too. But Vicki did confirm, and she said, hand to God, I had no idea I was being offered a contract for that 20th season at BravoCon. And I just felt vindicated.
Mary
You love to feel vindicated. I kept elbow And Mary, I also have this thought because I think about Don often.
Courtney
You miss him.
Mary
I know. And I know, like, Brianna lives in Oklahoma, and he's like her children's grandpa. I think it would be really fun to see this season, like, Breanna and Don in some capacity. I know that's not gonna happen, but I would love to see that. Yeah. Wait.
Courtney
Also, it was confirmed to us, too, on the panel that the last party of this season is a Skytop themed party.
Mary
It's gonna be good.
Courtney
But the panel. So Vicki was talking about when she was approached to do this show and the way that she was talking about when she was like, do you work? Like, these women don't work. And I didn't want to sign up for this show. And how her life really has changed. And Tamara talked about that too. And I feel like, like, Shannon was talking about that. She kept saying, like, I owe my life to Doug Ross. And I confided in him on my way to a meeting to see if I would be a good house. So I feel like my husband just had an affair.
Mary
She said the first day of filming, David started the affair, and Shannon has been on for 12 seasons.
Courtney
That's crazy. It's crazy. A lot of people in our comments were like, shannon is wearing that dress again. And she talked about it on the carpet, how she was in one dress. And Vicki said, if you wear that, like, I'm going to call you out on it. It's a terrible dress. So she had to, like, last minute change into this dress.
Mary
This was a confessional dress.
Courtney
Yeah. I feel like she's had this Valentino version of a dress for. For years. One of the questions that they asked Gina is like, how do you handle this? They asked Gina and Emily. Emily, she doesn't watch the seasons. Shane will Watch it. Do a book report for her report back what she'll be in trouble for with the audience. Gina said she's like, I just, like, don't care. Like, once you put it all out there, it doesn't matter. It's kind of like, the thing is, like, if I've already said it out loud, what else can you say?
Commercial Announcer
No.
Mary
And I think she's smart, and maybe that's why she and Emily have had the longevity of the show.
Courtney
When did they come in? About season 13, I believe. So this is their eighth season.
Commercial Announcer
Really?
Mary
Yeah. Wow. Yeah.
Courtney
Pretty.
Mary
Pretty crazy.
Courtney
It was just a nice night, though. And I felt like it made everyone so much more likable, so much more real, so much more, like, tangible as people. And oftentimes we watch these and we talk about this because it makes us feel better when we have to be constructive. But like, we say, there's your character actors on this show, and it's like, they're not.
Mary
Right.
Courtney
They're actually real people.
Mary
No. And it will be very interesting to see the Trace Amiga's dynamic because they said at the panel, like, Shannon and Tamara had been on the phone together for an hour and 52 minutes yesterday. And then Vicki was getting jealous, and Shannon's like, probably the amount of times we talked on the phone yesterday would add up to an hour and 52 minutes. So I think the Trace amigos are in a good place right now. I also noticed that the panel, because they would ask a question and then direct it to a certain housewife. And at first it was like, Vicky, then Tamara, then Shannon. And I saw Heather give this look to Terri, like, oh, really? And then they asked Heather a question. But I wonder if she just gets so frustrated with those three because they
Courtney
do have this crazy bond, the three of them. Like, even on the carpet, Tamara would jump into Shannon interview, or, like, Vicky would pop in, and you can see, like, Shannon, you could tell they're treading water right now, and they're trying to repair and be in a good place. And Heather talked about this, too. Like, you've been on this show for so long, you have these friendships. Vicki and Tamara go back almost 20 years.
Mary
Right?
Courtney
Like, that's why Vicki even on the stage was, do you want to hear the Trace Amiga song? Like, she really wants them to reconcile. They keep also calling her Victoria.
Mary
Well, I noticed Gina and Emily called her that.
Courtney
Yeah. Victoria. Is that a sign of respect, you think?
Mary
I think that's a dig.
Courtney
Oh, also, the new housewife, Carmela was on the stage. Jen was there too. And they obviously weren't getting fielded as many questions. More brand new Jen came in season 17. Obviously this is first season for Carmela and there's already a little drama in the premiere with Carmela. And you'll see in the trailer too, like with her and Vicki. I think it would be really tough to be a brand new housewife on the 20th season where there's like so much pressure to be successful completely.
Mary
It's gonna be a great time. We had the best time. I can't believe we got to do that. I feel so, so thankful. And to another 20 years.
Courtney
They were asking that too. Do you see this going on for like 50 years or 30 more years? And Gina and Emily, like, we could probably squeak by, but they're all going to be dead, which was funny. I mean, they just have a good rapport with all of them. And it was just a great night. I felt pretty lucky to be a part of it. It's really nice to have this opportunity. Like we said, these women, not just OC but real housewives in general, like the Bravo network. These women changed our lives too.
Mary
Absolutely.
Courtney
Look at us now.
Mary
Look at us now.
Courtney
Well, with that, should we take a break and then come back?
Mary
Yes. Summer is the season of last minute plans. One text can all of a sudden turn into hosting a backyard barbecue. That has happened to me time and time again. And that's why I love using Instacart. As a new mom, it's really hard for me to run last minute errands. And now I literally put down Charlie for a nap app, quickly place my order, and I can have someone go to Costco for me so I can host by 5 o'. Clock. And I also love that I get the great deals without wandering the aisles and overspending. I can order everything from burger fixings to fresh fruit and produce right from the app. And delivery through Instacart can happen in as fast as 30 minutes. I also love being able to leave notes and communicate with my shopper so I can get exactly what I need, whether it's perfectly ripe avocados for today or fresh ingredients for the weekend. It saves me time, it helps me stay on budget, and it makes summer hosting so much easier. Instacart brings convenience, quality, and ease right to your door so you can focus on what matters most. Download the Instacart app now and get your groceries just how you like. One thing I've learned over the years is that finding the right therapist can be really overwhelming. And then on top of that you find someone you like and realize they don't take your insurance. That's why I'm obsessed with Rula. Rula partners with over a hundred insurance plans and the average copay is just about $15 per session. They match you with licensed in network therapists based on your goals and preferences and appointments can be available as soon as tomorrow. Plus they support you every step of the way from therapy to medication management if needed. Thousands of people are using Rula to get affordable, high quality therapy that's actually covered by Insurance. Visit rula.comjudgy to get started. Do you want to talk some news?
Mary
I ran out of my bedroom and I said, courtney, Courtney, Liz is gone.
Courtney
Liz from Real Houses of Rhode island announced today that she will not be returning to season two. And what did I say on Monday?
Mary
You kind of called this. I am shocked. It also feels like she walked away, which that never happened. So what are they hiding? I agree.
Courtney
Let me read what she wrote on her AI generated photo.
Mary
This is not her in the photo. It's so strange.
Courtney
It's like a Pinterest pic or something.
Mary
It's like really blonde person.
Courtney
It's like someone max 35.
Mary
You can tell from the back.
Courtney
Yeah, I mean the health of the hair. Okay. I'm full of gratitude for the amazing opportunity to appear on this show. As filming for season two begins, I have made this decision to take a step back and focus on my family, my work and my passions. The Rory cast is an amazing group of women who have created something special I'll be watching next season, rooting for the continued success of this franchise. For now, I look forward to enjoying this little corner of the world from the other side of the camera.
Mary
Shocking. Will we get an appearance? Will there be a friend of situation. Is she trying to maybe dim the lights so nobody finds her? What's going on?
Courtney
Andy said the door is always open. So it does feel like it might be her decision. I called, I was like I don't think she liked her portrayal. I think there's stuff that's going on with Dino. Somebody said on the comments that he denied a plea deal. So I wonder if that means it's going to go to court. Are skeletons going to appear? Will she be involved in that? Did she just not like the portrayal? She thought she was going to be the queen bee and it didn't work out that way. It feels kind of crazy to be a one hit wonder at this point to go back 20 years for real houses of Orange County. When Kimberly left this show was not at the capacity what it was. I wonder all the time if Kimberly feels like I should have never left or like what my life be so different if I stayed on this show. Because they trailblazed.
Mary
I mean she moved to Chicago because she had skin cancer.
Courtney
Yeah. Yeah. Liz leaving it doesn't surprise me. You mentioned the other day that they had said like just wait for season two. They had whispered on the reunion couch.
Mary
I am pretty shocked she's not coming back because I feel like if you decided to go on the show that was a commitment. So for her to go back on that commitment seems a little strange.
Courtney
You guys are so funny on the Internet. I'm sorry. Someone goes just slot in Dolores. Nobody will know. And then someone also was like maybe she'll appear as a friend of on Jersey.
Mary
I think she's definitely doesn't want the cameras on her and calling any more attention to her because she's hiding something.
Courtney
Which is crazy because the fact is that now she is a Bravo liberty a pseudo celebrity. If anything does happen she will still be in the news.
Mary
I definitely feel like there is going to be a doc.
Courtney
I think when you go I think you need to do some recon. I think you need to figure out what's going I think you need to ask some questions and you think you need to figure it out some answers and I think you need to report back.
Mary
I'll go to Hemingway's. I feel like she might be there. She loves a gin.
Courtney
Yeah.
Mary
Maybe I could ask the bartender.
Courtney
What do they know?
Mary
Get the info.
Courtney
Yeah, I think you get a lot of info from those bartenders.
Mary
I agree.
Courtney
Okay. Also did you see too so Taylor, Frankie, Paul's checked in to re right.
Mary
For what?
Courtney
Well, Dakota called the police the other day. Apparently her ex husband's now requested a restraining order and filed for sole custody. So I'm assuming something happened and she does. I also feel like a very big self sabotager. And if her show is coming back, I feel like things are going on. So.
Mary
So do you think this Bachelor thing will still come out with her in a rehab facility?
Courtney
If it's coming back and you're aware that it's coming back and then something happens, whatever it is, are you pushing it back where it's like, this is a liability now. It's unpredictable. What's going to happen? Do you think it should air the
Mary
Bachelor or Secret Lives of Mormon Wives?
Courtney
Either or both. Both.
Mary
I think the Bachelor. No. Okay. Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. Yes. It's going to be a shorter season anyways, but then maybe she needs to just work on herself.
Courtney
I think for the health of herself, it would be beneficial for her to go Eliz McGraw route.
Mary
Yes. Yeah.
Courtney
Okay. Also, and I don't know if it's like news, but I just saw it come out that, that James Kennedy got engaged.
Mary
Moving on. Okay, great.
Courtney
I just, you know, sometimes you gotta say it all.
Mary
Sure.
Courtney
You're.
Mary
You're a reporter, you're a journalist.
Courtney
It's like you have to announce it because if you don't say something, then people will bother you about it. And you're like, no, I saw it. And then you have to like say, well, I saw it, but I don't want to say anything about it because I want to move on from it. And at the same point, just say it and move on.
Mary
And we're moving on.
Courtney
All right, well, let's talk about in the City. Overall thoughts, Mary?
Mary
A lot happening this episode. And I sat here and I watched it with Courtney and I look over at her and I said, good. I'm getting Bethany Frankel from Lindsay Hubbard.
Courtney
I was like, no. And then I said, oh, my God, Yes. Bethany Coded. Yes. It is actually very wild, especially with this episode.
Mary
The mom stuff.
Courtney
It was the mom stuff. The abandonment, having her daughter, her very like type A personalities. We're not talking about the Bethany of today.
Mary
No. I'm just seeing glimpses from the past of a Bethan ever after. Oh, wow. Yeah.
Courtney
Yeah. And when you said that, I was like, no, it's unbelievable. Now I can't stop thinking about. I even said to you, why did you say that?
Mary
Why did you say it's not gonna get outta your head?
Courtney
It won't. It'll be. Every week we talk about this, I will be thinking about this. But can I say, overall, this show is good. This episode was insane. We just keep rewinding it because so much was going on at this dinner party. And it for Lindsay. Lindsay, you don't have to over produce. The cast is there. The drama is there. Even though you're going to do a Taylor Armstrong.
Mary
Enough.
Courtney
You don't need to let it go. This cast, they know what they're doing.
Mary
I mean, Gavin is fantastic.
Courtney
Oh, what a little shit stir.
Mary
Fantastic reality tv. Same with Kenny. But let's start from the top, because they meet at the Garrett. The boys.
Courtney
The boys. The boys. Why is there.
Mary
Everyone's saying it.
Courtney
Like Kyle's like, there's definitely a Z at the end.
Mary
The boys and Lindsay, they go to the Garret and they get out their friend Google because they're trying to figure out the timeline with Owen.
Courtney
And there's always a woman who has to do this too. I know, but it's like the men can't figure it out. Penny's like, I've got a great PI. And they're like, you mean Whitney? And then like, Lindsay's like, hold on one second. Because they've got their court connect, all of Jo Ellen. They can figure out all the steps. If you ever need something done, it's always a woman who can do.
Mary
And Lindsay figures it out because she goes on Instagram and finds a makeup photo from them getting married. And this makeup photo is from June 2023. And they're all like, well, why is he saying they were married for four years? This doesn't make sense. There's photos from June 2023 of the wedding. This isn't adding up. And they're all pretty obsessed with it.
Courtney
Why, though, is this such a big deal?
Mary
They're clearly trying to note that he's lying about something.
Courtney
It's just to prove he's a liar. Not necessarily the dates that matter.
Mary
Yes.
Courtney
Which is funny because at the end, he's not a liar.
Mary
Well, he clears up the situation. Which he should have just said it from the beginning. Like, we got married during COVID So our real wedding date is from 2021.
Courtney
Nick. It's kind of like you guys, except the opposite. We got married and then we had the celebration to it two years later. Whereas you had the celebration and you got married two years later.
Mary
It's the exact same thing, but reversed. Remember when Katie Maloney and Tom Schwartz, they didn't really get married, too. Yes. And then they had to go back and get the marriage license, but they
Courtney
couldn't find that either. It's like, sometimes the signs are there. Sure, Sometimes the signs are there. Hopefully not for Yvonne and Nick, because we like them.
Mary
I do. Yeah.
Courtney
This cast equally hate Amanda and Danielle. Tough for Katie DeLuca, friends with both of them. But like this cast, it's clear that they hate Danielle. Minus a few, I think, like, Andrea and Lexi in this relationship. So, like, Danielle's on the back burner. This show is being led by Lindsay, who is crusading against Danielle right now. And so Owen, I think, is kind of just arm's length. Just has to keep everyone at bay because he doesn't want to reveal because he knows they're trying to catch him in something.
Mary
He doesn't want to be on the show.
Courtney
He does not want to be on the show.
Mary
He wants to be with Danielle, but he didn't sign up for reality tv. But he understands. Okay, she needs a paycheck. I moved it into her apartment. She needs to be successful. So, like, I'll do it for you because I love you, but I don't really want to be here, and I'm just not going to talk that much. And I don't want these people meddling in my life. Like, I'm actively going through a divorce. I don't need this shit on me right now.
Courtney
Yeah, I agree with that. You're so right. He does not want to be on this show. When Lindsay asked, why is he on this show? I want him to be like, I don't want to fucking be on this show. I know not call her a fucking bitch, though.
Mary
That was under his breath. He was speaking out loud, but it was. It wasn't to her face.
Courtney
It doesn't matter.
Mary
It was the thoughts in his head,
Courtney
and they were loud.
Mary
I like him to be honest. Okay.
Courtney
I mean, I don't have a problem. He's. He's just there.
Mary
Yeah.
Courtney
I would like to know more about him and Danielle than the drama behind the relationship. Especially because we know they had a baby. Now I would like to just, like, focus on the two of them. And I think that's partially why, when Lindsay's like, why are you on the show? We're all being so forthcoming and truthful and you're hiding and, like. Actually, I'm not hiding anything. It's just not that interesting. And you guys want to catch me. There it is. There it is. You're trying to make me the villain here and push me out and make me look bad when at the end of the day, there isn't anything. If you want me to Be on this show to be your foil, Lindsay. Then let's focus on that. Why are you caring so much about my relationship? The boys.
Mary
Lindsay was a little tough this episode at Yvonne's wedding dinner, but I will say I really loved her talk with Kenny. They have a great connection, and I love that Lindsay has, like, come around with him. That's what makes her a good reality star, because they can fight resolution. Exactly. Exactly. But they really bond over this abandonment. And we hear a little bit more about Lindsay's story. Again, her mom left her at 2. Then at 22, Lindsay cuts her off. And then we get a flashback to 2016 when they chatted again. But they really have zero relationship. And Lindsay is okay with not having that relationship moving forward, but she is just perplexed even more as she's had Gemma, and she's like, I cannot imagine leaving Gemma. Like, how did my mom do this? And. And that's gonna scar her her entire life. And then she talks about her own relationships with it, and she's like, I was abandoned by Carl. I was abandoned by my baby daddy. You know, it's sad.
Courtney
It's sad. This scene was very Bethany Coded, as you mentioned. Also, I'm like, does Lindsay have a crush on Kenny? Is she like us? Does she have a crush on Kenny like the rest of us do? But their conversation was good because obviously they were finding ways to relate to each other. But I also was like, did Carl abandon? I think Lindsay sets strong boundaries with people and then closes the door on that, which is a skill to have, as we've talked about before is like, people that can just like, cut off and move on and never have to go back. But also, is the abandonment because you're stopping someone from ever coming through, or is it. No, they abandoned me, and that's why I'm cutting off. Is it like chicken or egg with her?
Mary
I think in the Carl situation, she was. Was blindsided, and she did feel very abandoned and left at the altar. And that, to her, is like, she was abandoned by Carl. And we don't know much about the Turner situation.
Courtney
I would love to know more because I think as she starts to reveal pieces of this relationship with her quote, unquote, baby daddy, it's like she can't say his name, obviously. I wish she would just say, like, Gemma's dad.
Mary
I know, I know, I know.
Courtney
Baby daddy. Baby daddy. Baby daddy. But she starts revealing pieces of it. I would love to know the timeline. Like, they got together, she gets pregnant. What was the conversation that they were Having about having kids? Was there a conversation about having kids? It feels like maybe they broke up on and off during the pregnancy or maybe they decided they were good friends and then, okay, we're gonna make it work. Six weeks later they separate. But then we don't find out months down the line. Obviously she doesn't need to tell us that, but I actually find this relationship really fascinating.
Mary
I can't imagine having a baby six weeks in is the six week mark is very hard because you haven't slept for six weeks.
Courtney
Yes.
Mary
And you're so fucking tired. And then you're dealing with a breakup on top of it.
Courtney
Right. That could be abandoned. Actually, I could feel that. The abandonment from that.
Mary
Yeah, exactly. Like feeling abandoned because I had a baby with you and it's six weeks in and that is abandonment.
Courtney
I just want to, like, know more about it. And I'm not sure if she's going to be able to share more about it or if she feels more comfortable as time goes on.
Mary
Well, she's also smart because she's going through mediation, so she doesn't want to speak poorly of him.
Courtney
Oh, good point. Good point.
Mary
Because they're trying to figure out Gemma's schedule for the next 18 years. Although it feels like they have a very good co parenting relationship, obviously it feels like her being in the public eye was the demise of the relationship. And I think he does step up because she clearly has like last minute events and a really kind of wacky schedule. And it feels like Gemma goes with him when she has to go to these trips and things.
Courtney
So that's great, honestly. Sounds wonderful. Go, Lindsay. Okay, let's take a break and we'll come right back.
Mary

Having a Carl appearance. Just let me know. We need him for season two. When they showed Softbox Bar, I yelped, we're gonna see Carl.
Mary
I know, I know. He's so sweet and I think he gave him really great advice. He's like, I was definitely the evil one in that breakup. But no, you can get past this. And if you're not happy, then maybe it's time to walk away.
Courtney
Can we discuss a meta perspective from here?
Mary
Absolutely.
Courtney
Soft Bar is full. They're having this scene about the demise of Kyle and Amanda in quote unquote public.
Mary
Right, Right.
Courtney
This dinner party later in the episode, they are fighting Amanda and Kyle in public, technically, with an entire cast here. And yet everyone kept this quiet.
Mary
That's good reality TV for you.
Courtney
Isn't that crazy though? We don't know at this moment in time when they are filming it. And we know it's November 5th because of the ovulation dates that we learned last week, but we know that this is November that they are filming. And while there's rumors going around, it's unsubstantiated at this point. And yet these conversations are happening in the wild.
Mary
I know.
Courtney
Like, we don't know at this point that Amanda has an entirely separate living facility, facility, space, apartment, apartment, whatever it is. But I'm just thinking like, wow, they did a really good job of keeping this under wraps. Yes.
Mary
But also, people weren't so obsessed with it, how we are in 2026. Sure.
Courtney
But I'm saying, watching that whole Summer House Season 2, you're kind of just like, okay, like they fought like normal. Here they are. But we're back in the city. We're having these out loud conversations about the status of their relationship, which is much more serious than what we thought. I think back to Bravocon. When Kyle approached us right away, it was like, Amanda and I flew here together. We're like, okay, Kyle, congrats, Cuts. You flew with your wife.
Mary
I also think at that point he was thinking, okay, she's gonna move out. We're gonna work on the relationship and realize we really need each other. Like Brian did with Rula.
Courtney
Maybe they need no contact is what you're saying for four weeks, chak be arrested. I hope that.
Mary
I hope it doesn't matter. It's over. But they keep on coming back to this question. Are you in love? And that's a very important question because clearly they have love for each other. But are they in love with each other anymore? And the writing is on the wa.
Courtney
They haven't been in love with each other for years. I think the reality of it, reality being real life, but also reality tv, is like, we're engaged. This is great. Okay, we're going to get married. This is great. Okay, we're going to do the next season. This is great. And it's almost like even though they're living their life, for Amanda, she's letting life pass her by. But that is part of this relationship too. We are just going through the motions. Amanda needed to make that decision, to get out out. Regardless of how she got there, they needed it. Owen's talking about it in the preview for next week, being like, so this is done. No, I know. I kind of loved it, though.
Mary
I know. I also feel like this conversation with Carl was like, hey, man, this probably isn't gonna work out and it feels really hard right now, but you're gonna get past it. And look at me now. I've gotten past it too. And it's okay if you want to walk away. It's probably better for both of you.
Courtney
Carl is referencing public perception, right?
Mary
I'm.
Courtney
People hated me. They thought I abandoned Lindsay. Reality and perception are two different things. And yet, as you mentioned, look at him now. Everybody loves Carl now. And it's like, all they need to say is, just wait a couple months. Amanda's gonna fuck it up. You are going to come out on top. Even though you should probably be reamed for much more.
Mary
I also had this thought the other day.
Courtney
A good one or a bad one? Are you going dark again?
Mary
No, this is not dark at all. Okay. When Lindsay and Carl reconciled and everyone's like, oh, are they gonna get back together? I'm like, absolutely not. They're just friends and that's where they need to be. But now I kind of want them to make out this somewhere. I feel like it could happen. I feel like they're both in such a different spot.
Courtney
So make out to do more or just so that their tongues touch?
Mary
I don't know.
Courtney
Oh, you wanna make out and see if there's still feelings? Is there chemistry still?
Mary
I think they're two different people and maybe it could Work. I know, I know, I know.
Courtney
I've been saying that toxically as well. I have said it.
Mary
I know. So I'm hoping for a makeout this summer.
Courtney
I mean, that sounds fun.
Mary
Yeah.
Courtney
And in high school, we called those nickos. Oh, a non committal makeout.
Mary
You called it that in high school? Yeah. Wow. Yeah.
Courtney
So it could be non committal. It could just be like, let's have some fun. It was like the Bailey and Carl makeout. That's a nickmox.
Mary
Mm. Okay.
Courtney
But you're saying maybe it's a kimo.
Mary
Maybe it could come into that.
Courtney
A nick mo to comeo.
Mary
Yeah. I don't know.
Courtney
Non committal to committing. I'd like to see it. I'd like to see it as well. I know I would. Subscribe. Okay, let's get into this dinner party because this was wild. So Yvonne and Nick, they're celebrating their wedding again. And I know Yvonne is pissed, but I'm also like, you had a celebration. Let us have this.
Mary
Right?
Courtney
Let us, the viewers. This is our wedding celebration. Okay. I'm sorry your dinner got ruined. And it looks lovely.
Mary
It looks gorgeous.
Courtney
But this dinner from hell.
Mary
Right.
Courtney
Was amazing.
Mary
I know, I know. And it all kind of starts with Danielle showing up in a white dress. And when she first comes in, I'm like, oh, that. That's definitely white. And then you see different angles.
Courtney
You're like, no, it's.
Mary
It's more blush.
Courtney
Yeah.
Mary
And it's like that.
Courtney
That dress, is it blue and gold?
Mary
Yes.
Courtney
Yeah.
Mary
And when she sent that text message, it definitely looked pink. And I'm thinking, did she put a filter on it?
Courtney
Looks really pink in that light. In that photo, I'm like, did she
Mary
put AI, like, make this look light pink? And it's way more white in person also.
Courtney
You're telling me she doesn't have any other dresses?
Mary
No, but I kind of get, you
Courtney
know, when she bought it, she saw it on a website, maybe it came in, it was pink. She was like, oh, shit. This is kind of borderline. Let me just send it for confirmation. Thing is, though, if you have to send it for confirmation, it's too weird.
Mary
White, right? And that puts the person in the awkward situation. Was Yvonne really gonna say, no, don't wear it? I would never. I would never. I'd be like, well, I'm fucking annoyed. But I guess wear it. But then I wouldn't even write that. I would just write cute.
Courtney
You'd be something like, if that's all you have.
Mary
Yeah.
Courtney
You would make Them. Think about it, though, you know, like, your answer wouldn't be love. Like, Yvonne.
Mary
Yes.
Courtney
Like, you would be like, well, it does. It does look a little light. But I guess if I'm wearing white and you're wearing that. Okay, okay. You do what you need to do.
Mary
Exactly. Exactly.
Courtney
Georgina is like, do you want me to spill wine? She's like, no, there's so much wine there. She's like, on her. And then you can already tell, like, the three of them, because Danielle even says too, like, oh, great, I'm on the outside again. When Lindsay asks why I am on the show, I do have to question it because why am I on the show? I thought it was Lindsay that cast this show, basically, and that Danielle was somebody she cast. So now I'm wondering, did Bravo actually say, why don't we bring back Danielle? Or, like, what's your relationship with Danielle?
Mary
They kept the Danielle part of it very secret, I think.
Courtney
Oh, really? No. I knew she was filming.
Mary
I think they really kept that under wraps. She was never in the promos. It was always Lindsay, Kyle, and Amanda. And I think that Lindsay is really frustrated that Danielle is a part of the show because she didn't want her on.
Courtney
On it, I guess. I thought Lindsay did a lot of
Mary
the casting because she doesn't have that much power. Yeah, she pitched this show, but that's all she did, I think. Introduces them.
Courtney
Carl's not on the show. And I think that's because of Lindsay.
Mary
I think that's because of Bravo.
Courtney
Why, though?
Mary
Because they didn't find him interesting.
Courtney
Oh, See, I think Lindsay pitched the show and had a cast of characters and probably did some sort of sizzle reel. But I'm wondering if Danielle was a part of that or if Bravo said, what's your relationship with Danielle these days? And she's like, oh, we don't really talk. And then they probably said to Lindsay, would you be interested in trying to reconcile or air out your dirty laundry? And Lindsay's like, anything for the paycheck.
Mary
Yeah.
Courtney
But I kind of felt bad for Danielle here. And what's crazy. Are we ready to talk Kyle and Amanda?
Mary
Yes.
Courtney
Okay. What's crazy is the fact of how much Danielle hates Amanda and was defending Amanda.
Mary
Right.
Courtney
Well.
Mary
And, Gavin, thank you so much for stirring the pot. He's just like, so, guys, so how is sleeping apart heart? And Amanda's like, it's not a big deal. I basically did that every night because I go to bed really early and Kyle stays out late. And then Kyle's like, well, that's because you smoke weed every day, every single night. And then they flashback to Gavin. She has to smoke weed to go to sleep. And then it goes into this big situation of does Kyle get drunk every night or does Amanda get high every night? And which one is worse? And Georgina's like, well, getting drunk every night and cheating's worse than getting high and sleeping. And then Kyle's like, well, she never has sex with me. We can never talk. I mean, it just became a shit storm.
Courtney
It was so chaotic. I'm telling you, we gotta rewind it. I don't even know who's talking right now. But I want to bring up the problem here is that the drinking and the gray area are terrible for Kyle, right? She's saying there's video, but she keeps bringing up this cheating from 10 years ago. You got married within that. So you either really need to focus on getting over it or you can't. As we've both said, we don't think we could ever get over it. It would be really hard for us to move on because we probably would do digs. Like, remember what you did 10 years ago?
Mary
I mean, nonstop.
Courtney
Like, it would be terrible.
Mary
It would leave me. Because they would be tortured, right?
Courtney
The relationship would be doa, Dead on arrival. Like, we are done with it, right? But they didn't. So they kept going. But then, okay, Amanda, you're getting high, and there are people who get high who can't talk to people. Cause you're like, in the couch. I just want to lay here. I want to, like, remove myself from whatever. And Kyle might be trying to say, hey, do you want to talk? No. Hey, do you want to go out? No, I don't. And so it's like they're both trying to placate their relationship and fill it with these vices in order to make things feel okay and leveled. And so they're both, like, leaning into these vices to just numb themselves as opposed to actually talking about the situation situations. We know they've skipped out on therapy. We know that they're not really trying to work on it and hope that the cameras will help or, I don't know, the people around them, They've made this everybody's problem. When Kyle arrives in that terrible suit, I mean, throw it away, burn it. I hate it.
Mary
It's terrible.
Courtney
And he goes to say hi to Yvonne, and she's like, I've got this drink for you. And Amanda's like, hi, Kyle. Hi, Kyle. And then they do this interview, and she's like, this night isn't about us. It's about them. And, like, we can't bring our problems. I'm like, you're starting it right.
Mary
Right there, though, right? You can just tell she loathes Kyle.
Courtney
That's her bitch eating chicken salad.
Mary
Yes. And I feel like Kyle realized as she moved out, like, this is really nice. I am enjoying the apartment by myself. I don't miss her. I'm not in love with her anymore. I have love for her, but at the same time, I think they're trying to figure out who to blame for the demise of the relationship. And they're trying to. Trying to almost entice each other to who's gonna break it. Finally, is it gonna be Kyle that completely calls it off, or is it gonna be Amanda? And then, like, we can blame that person. It just feels like they're trying to find the blame.
Courtney
One of them wants to be the victim.
Mary
I think they completely fell out of love. Amanda was so pissed he became this dj.
Courtney
He wants a party girl.
Mary
That's a. Yeah. And she. She was sick of going out. She's sick of getting DMS about him, and she wasn't in a good mental head space. And then she wants to relax at night, so she has her gummies or weed or whatever, and she decompresses from the day, and he finds that very unattractive.
Courtney
Yeah, I think you're right. And I liked what Georgina said, too, because Georgina was like, look, I was in that spot, and I was moving out, and. And my partner at the time went to the gym, and we were trying to do the same situation. And, like, even though I would have moved out regardless, I wanted to see him want to fight for the relationship. And neither of you were doing that. For instance, that weekend. We know Kyle wanted Amanda to go out with him, and she decided to stay home when she got high and didn't pack and made a mess, but that's another story. And then he went out for the marathon, and then she wanted to have one last night with him. And instead of them actually even talking to each other and saying these things, they just do their own path because it is done. They're waiting for the other to call the bluff. You're so right. So that they can be the victim. She left me. He left me.
Mary
It's actually.
Courtney
It's just, like, really sad to watch.
Mary
And literally, Lindsay Hubbard starts crying. She's like, I feel abandoned, too.
Courtney
Yvonne's like, do something, Lindsay. She literally puts a napkin over Kyle's head. Shut up, Kyle. Cuz it's gotten to this point of where they're just, like, jabbing at each other. And Gavin's like, keep going. And Nick's like, yeah, it's my wedding. Keep fighting. I want this. Like, the guys are just being. Being the boys.
Mary
There was so much going on in this scene because it felt like Gavin and Kenny were really trying to go up to bat for Kyle, trying to protect him.
Courtney
They don't like Amanda.
Mary
They do not. But then at the same time, we just had, like, this crazy feud across the table between Lindsay and Danielle. There was so many different fights going on. And I have to say, I think I am Team Danielle on this one. What about. About you?
Courtney
Yeah. I don't know what Lindsay's upset about. Well, we asked. We're like, who told Danielle about this? Like, was it production? And then obviously they flashed to Gavin and he's like, oh, did I say something? So Gavin's also not telling the true story.
Mary
Right.
Courtney
Because Lindsay's like, okay, I'm sorry. I was the girl who's gonna get the information. Okay. Like, the guys don't know how to use Google, apparently, and I have to do it for them.
Mary
Yeah.
Courtney
But Danielle's like, why are you still going after this? Lindsay's doing exactly what you did to her with Carl. Right. And so this is like her revenge in a way where she's like, no, I'm not questioning you. I'm just doing everything behind your back because you did this to me. And when Danielle's like, well, I'm in a better place now, and Lindsay hates to see that. I do think there is a tinge of jealousy from Hub House.
Mary
Sure.
Courtney
I'm on Team Danielle because at the end of the day, he was married in 2021, and then he had a ceremony in 2023. And he's not hiding anything in that
Mary
room regard, but he was. He. He was hiding the timeline at the beginning. Yeah. I mean, I don't know. We don't know why. Yeah, it is a little sketchy, but we clear it up.
Courtney
Yeah, I'm a little bit on Danielle because I feel like she's like, why am I on this show?
Mary
It's almost. It feels like Danielle in this moment's like, so I was cast on here to be the villain, to be the
Courtney
punching bag for Lindsay.
Mary
Exactly. And she's realizing that in this moment, she's like, so you actually don't want to move forward with me?
Courtney
That's why I'm like, team Danielle on that. I'm Lindsay in The understanding of, like, sometimes you just want to be a petty little. Or as Owen would say, a. So I don't love that. I think that was gross. I don't even know how we got to this point because it's like we have to stop yelling at each other about being truthful. Because she was. She knows the story. She's not fighting for it because she doesn't care. Because she knows. Regardless if there's shadiness or not, it's like she knows.
Mary
Yeah. I mean, at this dinner, we had Kyle walk out, we had Owen walk out, we have Danielle walk out.
Courtney
On walks out. And Gavin yells, hey, bride, get me a drink.
Mary
Kenny's like, so, guys, I was thinking we could get away. That the segue to the planned cast trip had me cackling because they're like, we gotta get this on camera. We're all gonna go away.
Commercial Announcer
It was.
Mary
The timing was awful, horrible, hysterical, and I loved it.
Courtney
Almost feels like we're getting a winter house.
Mary
It does kind of feel like.
Courtney
And what I love about when they all have to stay in the same house is how it does go to the Shining.
Mary
Of course.
Courtney
Always just like, someone's gonna snap, everything's gonna go crazy. Poor Yvonne. I do feel bad for her. She's been laid off. She's trying to show she's a good party planner. And you guys are ruining the party. And we've got a five course meal based on the senses.
Mary
I also feel like the kitchen is extremely far away from this room here. And they keep on being. And hey, can we get some red wine? Like, how far is this room away from everything?
Courtney
But I thought what was interesting about Yvonne, because obviously she's backing Lindsay. Lindsay, Georgina and Yvonne are the new Trace amigas.
Mary
Okay?
Courtney
But when Danielle, she says, well, maybe the one in white. She mentions white, obviously referring to Danielle. And Danielle's like, you mean pink, bitch? And Danielle says, I texted you. And Yvonne goes, well, okay, the color of the dress doesn't matter. You called me a bitch. Like, you guys are fighting about this now. There were some shades when it was like, this is not my plate. You was like, like, it's pink. There is some OC elements here, you know?
Mary
Right. No, there was a. A couple good one liners. Like when Danielle's calling out something and Kyle's like, no, Sherlock.
Courtney
Yeah. Or when they're talking about the party girl and then he wants to leave and he's like, any further questions, email me pointing to Amanda. Is that the only way they communicate is via email?
Mary
Probably it almost felt like in that moment, like we are proceeding divorce. We will only communicate via email. Oh, that's all? I thought I got that vibe.
Courtney
Yeah. Okay.
Mary
Yeah. It was a great episode in the city. It gives me joy. I thought it was only eight episodes. I'm wrong. It doesn't feel like the finale next week. So hopefully a couple more and two reunions. So lots to look forward to.
Courtney
And with that, we're going to let it be. Maybe grab some lunch, maybe have a cute little datesy before you leave.
Mary
Yes.
Courtney
All right, everyone. Till tomorrow. Tomorrow.
Mary
Bye.

“Will it bother you if they're ogling your boobs?” – Courtney (12:53)
“‘I literally got divorced on camera, and I showed women you can work hard and make your own money, and you don’t need a man...’” – Tamra via Mary (14:25)

“It became a shit storm…” – Mary (48:11) “The relationship would be DOA…” – Courtney (48:45)
Both feel the couple are stalling, waiting for the other to be the ‘bad guy’ so they can claim victim status.
“They're waiting for the other to call the bluff... so that they can be the victim. She left me. He left me.” – Courtney (51:48)
Lindsay, relating too hard with themes of “abandonment,” begins to cry.
“They really bond over this abandonment… Lindsay is okay with not having that relationship [with her mom] moving forward, but she is just perplexed…” – Mary (33:30–34:41)
Discussion on public fights, secrecy, and how much the cast kept under wraps while filming.
The arrival of Carl, offering advice to Kyle, and discussions on self-perception versus reality.
“Reality and perception are two different things. And yet, as you mentioned, look at him now. Everybody loves Carl now.” – Courtney (42:16)
The group’s announcement of a planned cast trip—awkwardly introduced immediately after heated arguments, adding to the farcical energy.
“…the segue to the planned cast trip had me cackling…” – Mary (54:55)
The episode blends deep Housewives nostalgia, meta glam observations, and incisive reality TV analysis. Courtney and Mary’s dynamic, equal parts fangirl enthusiasm and honest critique, makes the recaps as entertaining as the shows themselves.
