it's Courtney from la. And today's kind of a weird day in what way? Well, this is the final episode of in the City, which means that even though Summer House is currently filming right now, we don't have a weekly watch to see if there are any Easter eggs. The demise of a relationship. The discussion. Discussion of a demise. The drama. Like, we're finally getting the first technical break from all of this since January, and we're in July.
Courtney
It is pretty wild. I am ready for the break. I will say I liked the end of this reunion talking about Kyle and Amanda, and I genuinely, you guys are gonna hate this, but I felt bad for Amanda, like, her explaining at the end, like, Andy. I thought Andy was so candid with them. I love the way he talked to them. He did such a great job. And he's just like, so, like, you guys didn't have sex for four years? Like, how did that even happen?
Mary
That was Lindsay.
Courtney
But also, Andy did a really good job of, like, holding Kyle to the fire. Like, I agree he was not the best husband. He was trying to highlight that. And I think he did a really good job. And Georgina was like, dude, you got the fucking golden ticket, man. This was supposed to be your season of ruin. Like, you were not going to come back for this, but they did something worse. So you got off scot free. You know, it's pretty insane.
Mary
You should have been canceled.
Courtney
Yes.
Mary
And, yes, you're thriving. I do think that Andy has a vested interest in this one from, like, the Bravo perspective, but then also is like, he's had 10 seasons with these people. He didn't like Summer House originally because he liked the Southern charm guys. And then, like, the Valley started, and I feel like he started taking in the Summer House people more and then, like, doesn't like the Valley guys. And then it was like, there were the Vanderpump guys. And then, like, Tom had his own scandal. And I think it's just with Time too, is like, these relationships with everybody and what they've done for the network and who they are as people, that there is a vested interest coming from him to have some sort of resolution, but also have people have accountability for their actions.
Courtney
Yeah. And I think that's kind of the point of the reunions for you to take accountability. So I really liked what Amanda said, and she was just like, yeah, I was very depressed. And then Kyle, he would work all day and then, like, expect to hook up at night. And I'm like, we don't have any connection. We have no emotional intimacy. She was like, I felt like an object. I felt like that was very Telling of how their relationship went. And then he's like, well, read this book about dating an entrepreneur. It's like, such bullshit. I do think it was Kyle's world and Amanda was just living in it. I think we got a lot more of an explanation of the demise of. Of their relationship. And I like what they even said about protecting the marriage. We were only showing certain parts. The fact that they never had a storyline about not having sex in all those seasons. Kind of interesting.
Mary
I don't think that reflects well on either of them, though, to have that storyline. I. It felt very reminiscent of when Ariana and Tom and Ariana was like, you are out and partying all the time. And then you wanted me to be intimate with you, but we're not actually creating intimacy in our relationship of feeling close to each other. That it doesn't feel right for me to want to sleep with you. I want you to sit here and watch Love island with me. And he's like, I'm not going to sit there for 53 episodes. And now she's hosting it. But there's two sides to it. Kyle's saying, like, I'm working so hard now so we have a future. And she's like, yeah, and in doing that, you're actually ruining our present. Because you're not present. You're doing everything for that. For later. For later, for later. Which I appreciate, but you're not putting the work in now. And I also think too is like, it is her wanting to regulate her nervous system. There's so much gray area in their relationship, even when they brought up infidelity. And was he doing something? Who knows? The fact that she would see something that was like, to him, innocent because he's doing raspberries on some random girl's neck. He's like, obviously, I'm not cheating on you. And she's like, yeah, but that's so inappropriate to do. And you're doing that in front of me. So what the hell is happening behind, like, when you're in that gray area, she can't even regulate her nervous system. That it's actually affecting her physically.
Courtney
Right.
Mary
And we're not team Amanda here. It's like team incompatibility. They really are incompatible. But given the space here, and we said this before about the reunion is like, this is such a different space than the summer house crew who are more deeply affected by the scandal. It's like she was able to actually say what she wanted to say. And she's still the bad guy in the betrayal of it all and how she handled it. But at the same time, it's like they were both the bad guys in their relationship. And it makes total sense from what she's saying and from what he's saying and then why it didn't work out.
Courtney
Right. This reunion was more about their relationship and splitting up. It wasn't about West. And I think we need to think about it like that. I don't think Wes ruined their marriage. She split with. With Kyle and then she got with West. It's not like there was any cheating or. Or anything like that.
Mary
Careful. Because people say you guys are so stupid the time I precedes that. And I'm like, I'm just going with what they're telling us. And I think there's gray area in this January, February discussion. But I also think too is at the end day, towards the end of their demise of their marriage. September, October, November, when she was hanging out with Westmore as a guy was being nice to her and she said, oh, is this how someone should be treated whether he had ulterior motives or not? As Danielle mentioned too, like she thinks like Wes kind of preyed upon Amanda. Could be correct.
Courtney
Right? Right. Well, she kind of decided when she got the one year lease that she was out of that marriage. And then the night she is moving out, her husband brings home strangers. The neighbor is pissed because he has the bas going so loud. And she's like, so that was the last night in my apartment with my husband. It's writing on the wall. She's like, okay, he is not trying. He is not making an effort. And then also I get Kyle's side of that. He's like, why would I want to be home when you're moving out? You're giving up on us. They. They weren't right together. I love that they are actually friends and I think they are gonna be good buddies. I'm very interested in that.
Mary
How has she not moved her stuff out yet though? Amanda, that's insane. That's liter roadway movers. We know you love them as influencers or piece of cake, whatever it is column, get your shit out. That is crazy. But I also think part of it too is that she hasn't done it. Because I do think she is worried that once the lines are really cut, like they're divorced, there's no connection, her stuff is gone. You know, like they say breadcrumbing a little bit. Like, well, if I keep something there, then like he has to talk to me and I don't want to lose him in my life as a friend, as a provider who's still paying my health insurance. When he said, I'm still paying your health insurance, she said, okay, thanks. I'm like, amanda, Amanda, come on. You can't say it's all Kyle, but
Courtney
I think there's a part of him that genuinely, like, feels bad because he did give up on the marriage and he didn't change that. He is like, okay, like, I'll just still pay for the health insurance. That's what he's giving her in the divorce. In some way. They were kind of not going into deep details. So it sounds like the dog is on the table, some money on the table.
Mary
Assuming lover boy stuff, maybe.
Courtney
Yeah. It was very interesting how they weren't going into a lot of detail about the divorce filings and that.
Mary
I mean, I think there still is, regardless of the scandal, mutual respect for each other in this. I think when the scandal all happened, she was actually still able to lean on Kyle. Because I think in his mind, in her mind, it was a clean separation. And regardless of the emotional part of it, the physical didn't start till they were separated again. Could we be naive? Maybe, but I'm just going off of what we've been told. And I know people lie, but whatever. Just go with us or don't, but that's where we're going.
Courtney
Okay. I will say, I definitely think when she was talking about no, your friend confirmed to me, like, you had sex when you were married. I think he got so uncomfortable, weird. Like what?
Mary
I think it was Jesse's friend. Did you hear that? Because they were talking over each other. I walked away at one point to grab something from my room. While it was. The amount of voices trying to talk over each other throughout this whole reunion was insane. If I was not watching this with my own eyes, I could not tell you what we were talking about right now. I thought she said it was Jesse's friend. But then when they said, who is it? Lindsay says, I'll kill her. She said, well, I don't know. And so Amanda seems to not know the full details. That I'm like, is she not reaching for the details? Cause she doesn't want to know all the details. Or is there a gray area that's happening? I don't know.
Courtney
I think he a thousand percent slept with someone.
Mary
I think he doesn't remember. That's the thing.
Courtney
I mean, how many nights did he not come home? Even if he came home at 5 or 6am like, that could have still happened.
Mary
But I Think a lot of things are gray area for him too. Where it's like they said, well, I think I was dancing at a club and like my mouth accident, Andy's like, accidentally kissed hers. Like, he's like, well, no, like, I think we were just close and the video could look like we were kissing. And it's like, if you don't know what you're doing when you're wasted, that is not comforting to any person. That is part of the reason that Amanda doesn't want to go out with you when you guys were married. She doesn't like how drunk you get. She doesn't like that maybe you don't remember the night. And Kyle is a work hard, play card kind of guy. He's going to work his ass off and then he's going to release it by partying, drinking, and having a good time. Does that good time cross the line? Perhaps. And the fact that he can't definitively say yes or no is the problem.
Courtney
Exactly.
Mary
Exactly.
Courtney
That's why I appreciated this because I think Kyle just got off so easy and he was held accountable here. And he deserved that because he wasn't a great husband to her. And we can't forget that.
Mary
I was thinking about this. I'm like, love languages are so important because like, in Kyle's like, he wants to be a provider and Amanda wants that. But Amanda wants quality time. She wants words of affirmation. I don't know that acts of service. While, yes, I think that's part of it. But like, I don't think like gifts to her that crazy. As much as it's like, I want you to invest in our relationship, meaning I want you to stay at home with me. But he's like, well, if we wanted to go out on a date, I had to plan it. I had to do this. But I could also see Amanda being like, why don't we just go to like, the bar around the corner? I want to go try a new restaurant. I think their. Their terms of like going out on a date are also different.
Courtney
They became roommates at the end of the day.
Mary
Were they even in the same room?
Courtney
I think they were because that other one was a storage space that.
Mary
You're so right. You're so right. And as we said too, she's like, I am grateful she moved out. I wouldn't have made the move. I wouldn't have done it. I would have just kept it going. That was their situation year after year after year. They'd film, they'd do press, they'd film, they'd do press. And it just became this cyclical thing that it was like, well, I don't want to deal with all that. It's just easier to deal with how we are.
Courtney
Right.
Mary
Well.
Courtney
And it's very easy to avoid your problems. And they would also, I feel like, okay, they come into the summer and they're like, well, we know we're going to have to talk a lot. They've admitted that the summer house was therapy for them. And then they probably are like, well, that was so much this summer. I don't really want to talk about it anymore right now. And then they go into the fall, then they start the press like you said, and then they start filming again and they're worried to lose their jobs.
Mary
100. I mean, truthfully, look at Amanda now. She's not coming back to the summer house. And I was thinking too, if they had separated and maybe Amanda was dating the Bruins player, that NHL player that it was mentioned she was dating, I don't think she would ever be coming back to the summer house west or not. I think, like, once they separated, I think she wouldn't be coming back for this summer at all. And I know people are also going to say too, is there's this video of Kyle making out Amanda, why did you never say anything about it? And it's like, why would she say anything about infidelity in her relationship unless she wanted to get out of it? Like, I think about the fact that Sheena Shay in the Scandal Season also had an infidelity with Brock, who cheated on her and she never said anything. And then she puts out this book where she tells everybody about the infidelity and everyone's like, why are you telling us that? Are you leaving your marriage? Are you doing it to be scandalous? Or like, what's the reason for doing that? It's like, if you want to protect your relationship, you're not going to be outwards with every bad thing that happens. Now, I know people think that because when we watch them together, we're like, this relationship is bad. But it's embarrassing on Amanda's part that she's staying with a man who continues to cheat on her or potentially cheats on her because he can't remember. And she just gets the hey, girly, dm, right?
Courtney
Could you imagine if you were getting those DMS from people all the time? I mean, talk about falling into a depression.
Mary
It just. That's what I'm talking about, regulating of your nervous system. Like, I would just be on Edge all the time. Like thinking about him. Like, I feel like kind of like nauseous from it. Because the worst thing to do is to have somebody come in and tell you something that you didn't know. That's like negative. Like, even if it's like, hey girly, I don't know if anything happened, but I saw him leave with somebody. You're like, okay, well now I have to like be an investigative journalist here and I, I'm the CIA over here. Okay, Now I'm finding out like every single details. Like nobody wants to like live that life. But also, are you strong enough to leave?
Courtney
Yeah. Well. And she was, she was the one that moved this thing into motion and it needed to be done. And I'm very, very happy that she was the person to do it because he said he wasn't going to.
Mary
And also because you know what? I'm also excited that he's hanging out with Sally Carson right now because I want to talk about her little AMA that she did on the plane ride back from New York.
Courtney
I know. Okay, let's take a break and talk about that. I used to be the person that would think, okay, what's for dinner tonight? We got to go to the store, gotta go pick up the chicken, gotta go get the ground beef.
Mary

Courtney
oh my God. I. I always love Sally. You guys are just coming on to her. I have been protecting this woman for years now.
Mary
She bought the chickens because she wanted them, not for Craig.
Courtney
Okay?
Mary
Poor Popcorn. Coconut. And what was the other one?
Courtney
God, what was it? Cantaloupe, right? Was that it?
Mary
Yeah, I'm pretty sure. And which one died? RIP Popcorn, right?
Courtney
Yeah, but she didn't really like popcorn.
Mary
I don't think she really liked any of them after she got them. And Craig denied she was still in the store. She never had to walk out with the chickens, but she had to hold fast because she is an independent woman who is smitten with Kyle Cook.
Courtney
Oh, my God. So someone asked her, kyle, is it love? Is it fun, or is it that eggplant? And. And then she just writes back, can three things be true at the same time? And I'm just like, oh, my God. Sally is smitten by Kyle Cook.
Mary
And I love it.
Courtney
I just love that she is cuckoo bananas and she is the Lulu and she just jumps in and she wants to have love. Then there was another question, like, when are you going to settle down? And she says, y' all aren't going to believe me, but I'm pretty sure it's going to be so soon. I'm like, oh, my God, is she
Mary
moving to New York?
Courtney
I love her. I love her. Do you think Kyle read these and was like, oh, my God, I need to cut things off?
Mary
I think he kind of loves it.
Courtney
Oh, I think Sally, for what it
Mary
is, she's gonna let you know. Exactly. So, like, I don't doubt that she's saying these things to him. I don't doubt that, like, these combos are happening. I also think she's trolling us a little bit, too. Like, I. She's having fun with this situation. She likes the extra attention. Kyle is fun. They have a good time. Sally is a good time girl.
Courtney
She's said, like, he's the best in bed that she's ever had on her podcast with Lala.
Mary
And you listen to that.
Courtney
I see clips,
Mary
but also, like, I feel like Sally would be very complimentary towards any of the men that she was with, even if they weren't, because she's like, well, if this is going to be my end game, I better talk them up.
Courtney
I just, like, love someone that fully dives in. I just love it. I appreciate it. It's just so not me.
Mary
Stassi once said about Kristen that she's unburdened by the shackles of shame. And it's like, so is Sally, and it's refreshing. Sometimes there's something weirdly likable about how thirsty she is and, like, how much she's leaning into this. And I imagine Kyle sees it and he laughs at it. Because I also think too is Amanda. And Kyle's like, Kyle became her bitch eating chicken salad. And I don't think that the amount of times they were having fun and that she would, like, compliment him and Vice versa. To be honest, I don't know that he was doing the same to her. But, like, I feel like he loves that someone has a crush on him.
Courtney
Oh, I'm sure. I am sure. And I think he probably loves getting laid.
Mary
Yeah, terrible. Who hates. I hate it.
Courtney
Gross. Wait, let's talk about other news. Tell me about this Gavin post.
Mary
Oh, you guys, Gavin is such a little troll. I love him. He's so messy and it's so funny. So he made a post just kind of doing some, like, recapping of the season. And he posted on Friday, some friends giving behind the scenes. And there's a picture of him, like, holding Kyle's mouth, you know, the sides of his cheeks. And he just writes on it, spit that olive in my mouth. And then a winking picture of Amanda. On the next slide, he posts, like, Yvonne and Nick, like, so in love. They got married twice. He posts a photo of him sitting on Lindsay's lap being like, you come at the short king, you better not miss.
Courtney
I think he has a major crush on Lindsay.
Mary
Oh, well, they were trying to set up that storyline, like, maybe they could be a thing. And it's like, no, Lindsay wants to hook up with Kenny.
Courtney
She was not good with Kenny and the milkman. And she has Dustin. She's like, got different people in different area codes.
Mary
I love that for her. I love Lindsay. I think she's great. I think she really, like I said, in any other job, she would be getting a promotion because she is exceeding expectations. With the amount of work she's putting into her role here, it could come off a little bit too much. And I'm just ready for after now. Even though she's still filming, it's like Lindsay to have a little vacay.
Courtney
Well, okay. I think she was trying really hard in the first part of this reunion, and it was pretty obnoxious. But I will say also, I'm a little bit disappointed that I think she isn't allowed to necessarily tell her whole story right now with Turner. And she's not willing to go there because she's so worried about custody with Gemma.
Mary
They also might have an NDA or some sort of agreement that she's not allowed to say anything too a thousand percent. When Yvonne said, like, the last year has been the hardest year for Lindsay. And I know we got that post last week where she talked about everything and how hard the year has been, though, but I'm like, there's so much underlying that we don't know about there. And, God, I would Love to know. I know, I know it's a keep it private, whatever, but I'm like, I want to know.
Courtney
I think she wants to tell us. She's just not able to. Yeah, but I think that's like a big part of her story that's missing.
Mary
That also makes me think about Owen and Danielle. A big part of Owen's story of like when they ask, oh, were you being vague with boys? And he's like, yeah, of course I was. Because he's not going to tell his ex wife's story, who's not a character on this show, who maybe he also can't talk about it because they have some sort of stipulation or agreement. And it feels weird to have a one sided story from his when all he's trying to do is like get divorced so that he could be with Danielle so that maybe they could get married. I'm surprised that Owen and Lindsay couldn't connect on that in the sense of like, oh, we have stories we can't tell because the other person isn't wanting to be involved at all.
Courtney
He's such like an Irishman too. Like he's not going to air out his dirty laundry. Especially like with the boys. He's like, these fucking boys.
Mary
The boys.
Courtney
These boys. They only asked me on camera because they were trying to have a storyline about it. I shut that down real fast. I wasn't going to talk about it. I appreciate Andrea and Nick because they didn't say shit about it and they've never asked me ever since. And I know the reason they did was to have a storyline about this
Mary
when Lindsay was like, yeah, that's because we're terrified to ask him. Like, terrified, Lindsay terrified. We were doing it to protect Danielle. Okay, you guys think that Danielle doesn't know the details of her own relationship because you guys googled and got the wrong facts.
Courtney
Honestly, Owen got hotter and hotter by the minute of this. He stepped up for Danielle and was like, you know what? We're not dealing with your toxic Lindsay. We don't want to be a part of it. You're the common denominator in all of this. Take a look at yourself, honey. I was like, this is sexy.
Mary
There was a moment too. And honestly, I can't remember if it was last week or this week. He just like leaned over and put his, his hand on her shoulder, like for reassurance. And there was such a difference from the way that like Whitney and Kenny did it last week versus how Owen did it for Danielle that I was like, Owen did it. And it was sexy. Kenny and Whitney doing it. I'm like, it was.
Courtney
It was fake. It was put upon. And Owen put his hand on Danielle and she looked back and she gave this sweet smile. I was like, oh, my God, they're so in love. I love them.
Mary
When Owen's saying this stuff to Lindsay and he's like, I have a pregnant partner right now. Like, we're going through this pregnancy. I do. Like when Lindsay turned it around and was like, well, okay, I get what you guys are saying with this, but can you think that maybe when Danielle, the way that she was treating me when I was pregnant, that maybe you could see and have some pine sight about the same situation?
Courtney
No. And Danielle copped that. That. Okay, let's talk about Lindsay and Danielle, because the question that I love to ask everyone when you were away, they really spent some time on it, and I appreciated it. And the question was, did Danielle give Carl the hj? And we go into great detail about this and Andy Cohen being like, so was it an hj? I was just like, I can't, cannot
Mary
believe we're talking about this. This is so, so funny.
Courtney
I mean, everyone's talking about, no, it was an over the pants hand job. And Danielle's like, there was no hand job. Like, there was something so silly about this. And Andy's just like, well, did you rub his pants? I'm like, this poor woman. She's talking about this from a decade ago, like, while pregnant
Mary
with her partner right behind her.
Courtney
It is so, so silly. And then Andy asked a question, and Lindsay was like, and thank you, whatever. From Delaware. I'm so glad you guys brought this up because Danielle and Carl dated, what was it? For a month. And Danielle's like, well, like three. And in 2016. And then Danielle kind of flipped it on her too, because she was like, you were talking about that, that hand job, and you made it seem like I did it after you and Carl, like, broke up before the wedding, which that was not the case at all. And you were trying to make it seem like way worse than it actually is.
Mary
Oh, I guess maybe if you don't know the history of them. I knew we were talking about so long ago, but you're saying if you're not a summer house watcher, she's making it seem like they got engaged, broke up, and then there was an otphj.
Courtney
Yes. Yes.
Mary
Oh, I guess I just never thought that because we knew the timeline. It was a no kiss finger bang. It wasn't no kiss finger bang. God, you guys, I miss old school summer house.
Courtney
I know. So do you think Lindsay and Danielle will be able to move forward? Do they have this. This clean slate?
Mary
Yeah, because I think that they turned it on for the reunion. Like I said, Lindsay does her job and she does it well. And I think she lived week after week because Danielle didn't really do anything to Lindsay this season. A lot of it was all these grievances that Lindsay had. She had her timeline. She had her season after season of everything that Danielle had done. And even at the end, she's like, well, I aired my grievances out so I can move forward. Lindsay's doing her job. She's creating drama. I think they left there. I think they texted. I think Lindsay and her are going to be fine. I think motherhood especially, and they should let bygones be bygones. They have so much more to relate to now. I feel like they could really get their friendship back to what it was. And as long as Lindsay understands who Danielle is and Danielle understands who Lindsay is, like, it'll work. Danielle is upfront and honest with you. She's going to tell you exactly what she thinks. As she said, you are going to get the message, and then. And there's nothing that's not being conveyed by her, maybe in the wrong manner. But ultimately, I do think that Danielle is looking out for Lindsay and wants to be a good friend. She just handles it badly.
Courtney
Oh. And she says that I might communicate it really badly, but at the end of the day, I think it would be awesome if they got the friendship back on track. I think being moms is going to help that a ton, and I think put, like, a different perspective on things for Danielle and. And I'm excited for those two because I think we could have a great second season with Carl included and the three of them out together. I think Owen and Carl would get along very well.
Mary
It's.
Courtney
It could be an exciting time.
Mary
I honestly think it would be really dumb not to have Carl on the next season of in the City.
Courtney
She even said at the reunion, like, me and Carl are in a really good place. We're really good friends again. I'm like, okay, let's lean in. Let's. Let's go.
Mary
She even said best friends and that he's not a mess anymore. So that is progress. Mary, is there a world that they get back together?
Courtney
It's toxic.
Mary
We know. We know. But sometimes the toxic takes over.
Courtney
I think they are also two totally different people than they were when they broke up. Like, Carl is really in such a different place with his sobriety. I feel like he has gotten his confidence back. Lindsay becoming a mom has put things into perspective for her.
Mary
I. I think there were pictures of them over the weekend filming Summer House when they were together. I think besides the relationship, is that the friendship that Carl and Lindsay really had was so important to him. And I bet he really did think about crossing that line to relationship, being like, this is going to ruin the friendship if it doesn't work. But I really think he felt that relationship was so important to him and that he could step away from a romantic relationship to keep the friendship. And obviously, Lindsay felt blindsided. We went through that whole cycle, but I think he would really love Lindsay being in his life. I think she was. She was a driving force. I think everything that she was also pushing for Carl, for business, all of this stuff was in the right manner. He just wasn't in the place in his life yet. And he does want someone who's a little softer. I think Lindsay is technically slightly softer now after becoming a mom, but I think, like, her approach, which is, like, hard, motivated, strong, like, that was just too much for him at the time.
Courtney
Agreed. No, they can be friends.
Mary
They can be friends. No.
Courtney
I know there was ramblings about Matt James that night.
Mary
I think Lindsay is having fun. I think when Lindsay is ready to settle, she will find someone. I'm joking about Carl, but, like, also in, like, an alternate universe course, they're married, and Gemma was his kid, and Jesus, it's just like, what could have been? What could have been sliding doors? No, I think he's a great uncle. I think their friendship is fantastic, and I would love to watch that. Obviously, we're going to watch that in Summer House this season, but I also think that he would be great for season two. I want to follow what Carl's doing in his life.
Courtney
Agreed. Agreed. And I feel like out of all
Mary
the people that they had, it's like you have Gavin, who has all of these restaurant bars, whatever, in the hospitality area of New York, you have Carl, who is, like, starting into that. There are lines there that connect. I just think it was such a missed opportunity. And I do wonder about the casting, because I still assume that Lindsay brought Danielle into it, and it feels more and more like she did not.
Courtney
Yeah, let's take a break and talk about that.

It does feel very obvious that Lindsay was upset that Danielle was casted as they filmed. It felt like Danielle was set up to be the villain in a lot of ways, but Whitney really became the villain. We'll talk about Whitney's posts from the other day.
Mary
Obviously her comments about single moms and the nannies, not good. Okay, but she's collecting sorrys like she's collecting souls. Thank you, Kenny. But then like Kenny films Whitney and she's holding a Matcha and her like Pilates outfit just being like, yeah, I go to Pilates and I drink matcha and to me that's very tongue in cheek and silly.
Courtney
Yeah.
Mary
And I just find this cast is leaning into being these reality TV stars. People like, oh, Lindsay. What's Lindsay's rebuttal to this? Like, what's she gonna say? And I'm like, if Lindsay doesn't laugh at that, that's on Lindsay, because that's so silly. That's. To me, that's the most innocent part for that TikTok. I don't think she has to apologize to every mom in the world.
Courtney
No, I think it's absolutely hysterical. And, like, you have to lean in. And I be really curious to see their engagement. Kenny's like, I am gonna marry this girl. Whitney must be so stressed all the time with her nails. Like, she knows this wedding ring is coming any day now. And she's like, my nails always have to be perfect because it could happen at any moment.
Mary
Oh, I think the nail salon is on her list of things to do for the week with matcha and pilates. I'm not worried that her nails are never not done. Whitney probably gets, like, a Russian manicure because those things last for, like, four to six weeks. I feel like Whitney nails always done and without even doing it and being probably proven wrong so quickly. I feel like she's always kind of that milky pink color on her nails. Now, I'm sure I could go to the first post on her Instagram and they're bright red right now. But in my mind, she's always a milky pink girl.
Courtney
Yeah. Kind of like dim your and mindful. Nothing too loud.
Mary
Yeah, the nails are done well because, like, she's not too loud to me. Like, she's kind of like milky. The pink.
Courtney
I would say she's a pretty, like, vanilla. She's bachelor, you know?
Mary
First post, bright red nails.
Courtney
You called it. You called it.
Mary
Oh, man. I'm laughing because I'm like, of course it's going to be. But like, in my head, she just always has that.
Courtney
Okay, so who do you want back next season? I have to say, at the end of this reunion, I was like, oh, I forgot Lexi and Andrea were there. They didn't say one word in the season.
Mary
They didn't really either.
Courtney
I know they're gonna go.
Mary
I don't mind them because I think that you need someone who's, like, a little bit boring but hot. Like, I love watching hot people be hot. And they are the quintessential hot couple. They could stay on in friend of capacity. Like, we don't need a storyline from them. But I do think if we're gonna have, like, moms in the city is like, why get rid of her?
Courtney
Yeah, I just. They. I thought they were so, so boring to me.
Mary
I really like Yvonne and Nick, and I think that the editors did a disservice to Nick by saying that he never realized that Yvonne went to San Diego for four days.
Courtney
Oh, that's such a good point. I don't think about that anymore. I think he's such a good guy.
Mary
In the beginning of the season, we were led to believe he's not a good partner. Like, will they or won't they get remarried? Are they going to have kids? And it feels like he's followed a timeline completely, and he's in love with her, and he. He's okay with being in a throuple with her and Lindsay?
Courtney
No, I think Nick is a really, really great guy. I also wish they would have gone into his diabetic story. He has type 1 diabetes, and that's, like, a really big deal. I feel like they should have shared that a little bit. I know. That's why he was wearing the short sleeve for the reunion. He, like, wanted to show that.
Mary
Oh. Oh, interesting. Yeah, I like them. And I think Lindsay was prepping her for the reunion. Like, you know, here's how you got to make a moment. You got to make a moment. And when she tried to deliver the line to Danielle and she said, well, let's just say about the dress, Danielle, if you were invited to an all pink party, you wouldn't be let in. And Danielle's like, what? The dress was pink. Like, what are you. What are you talking about? And I was like, oh, Yvonne practiced that one and it didn't deliver. But I feel like she's got a season two in her that she knows the game now. Like, I think they're all leaning in. I want all of them to come back. Honestly, is this the last time we see Amanda? This could be her last episode of reality TV on Bravo. Is this the end of Amanda?
Courtney
I don't think so. I feel like she had such a good reunion. I feel like she stuck up for herself.
Mary
What did you think about her apology to Danielle and then Andy bringing up. It's so interesting how you apologize to Danielle. Sent her a text because Amanda's done a lot of reflecting since everything's happened. You sent Danielle and Owen a text. I can't help but ask, why not Sierra when we're talking about this? And this is what pissed me off with Amanda, because she's such a bare minimum. She's like, well, I actually did have a text, but then I realized I was blocked okay. If I wanted to be repairing something, I'd be sending an email, I'd be sending a text from my friend's phone just saying, hey, I want you to know, know this. There's no response needed. I'd be writing a letter and putting it in the post. Okay. If I wanted to say sorry and say my last words and probably not beg for friendship, but just really take accountability for what I did, you'd be figuring out a way to get those words to that person, right?
Courtney
No, I. I don't think that her and west feel sorry. And we can go back to his Instagram that he posted the other day with that future song. I think in their mind, it's like they dated for a summer. They were never exclusive. What we did is, okay, the world is just blowing this up and they don't feel bad about it. And that's why I think that she's like, I'm not gonna go out of my way to hunt her down to give this like, great apology. And then she says, you know, at that reunion, I just, I couldn't speak because I got so defensive. And I'm like, no, because you're on so many fucking drops books. She's so much clearer at this reunion and you, like, see a little bit of a spark in her. I just thought it was funny when they would say certain questions and she's like biting her tongue because she's like, oh my God, she wants to laugh because some of the questions are so ridiculous. Like the over the pants hand job. Yeah, I. I am willing to watch her a little bit longer on in The City Season 2. And maybe it's like Kyle's the main person and he goes out to lunch with her and. And he's just like, how are things with Wes? And it's like a check in. In that way. Maybe she's not like a full time
Mary
cast member, like a friend of. Because I was thinking, what are they doing for money right now? This show was her paycheck. Summer House was Wes. I feel like Amanda might have known that the writing was on the wall for Summer House for her. So she's like, okay, well, I have in the City. That was my spin off. Okay. I'm taking a big step of ending this. I do wonder if she had a conversation with production of like, guys, I like, think we're separating, but am I gonna have a job from this? I could see her having that conversation. Production being like, we wanna follow this. Of course, of course. Now I'm like, what are they doing? For money. Like, people are like, oh, ignore them. We're just putting money in their pockets. I'm like, how are they a creator earning commission on their videos? They aren't posting. How are they getting money right now? Wes doesn't even do his podcast. Are they getting brand deals? We're not seeing any of that. What are they gonna do? This could be her last episode. Maybe it's not what I would be interested in seeing if they are still together when filming commences. What's going on with that? Because at the end too, she's asked about west and she's like, I'm taking things day by day. And then I did feel at that point, I was like, honestly, I don't know what the nature of their relationship is. We know they're quote, unquote, exclusive. We know they're monogamous. Is she not giving a single detail? Because she doesn't want to be jumped on from any part of the Internet. So she's being. Being super vague, like Owen about what their relationship status is, so nobody can say anything.
Courtney
What was she gonna say? Oh, my God, we're doing so well. We just got back from Italy. I know you guys saw it because he spit an olive into my mouth.
Mary
She did say that if the question was directed towards west in an environment where he felt comfortable, like, I feel like Amanda felt more comfortable in this environment. I think he would tell a story. I think he would be selling the relationship to us. Whereas I feel like Amanda wants to keep things under wraps because if she says they're serious and then something happens in the next week or two, then she gets all this hate about it. But I feel like Wes would be like, we're doing so good. Yeah, she's met my family. I've done. Because he has to sell.
Courtney
Yeah, but he can't even talk.
Mary
True. I guess I'm just saying in a where it's not confrontational and it's a one on one, would he speak differently about it? Think Amanda's being more vague because she doesn't want the Internet hate.
Courtney
Why would you want to share anything with any of these people about that relationship? That's just opening a can of worms. She was smarter to keep it big and like you said, protecting herself in some way. We're just taking it day by day because she doesn't know what's going to happen next. Because we have seen him with Miha and we know what he's capable of.
Mary
Well, yeah, I think he's a wordsmith. I think he tells you what you want to hear. And I think being a people pleaser can be really good because you're the life of the party. And, like, you make sure everybody's having a good time, and that draws people to you because you have this energy that people want to be around. But then the ulterior motive of I'm just going to tell people a story so that they like me and figure out the rest later is totally different.
Courtney
Right.
Mary
Like, there's pros and cons to it all. Wait, can I talk about this Jesse TikTok the other day, by the way?
Courtney
Yeah.
Mary
I'm thinking, oh, ulterior motives. So, right. There's this guy Anthony on TikTok who does, like, a really good impression of Wes. Like, fingers in the mouth, a backwards hat, like, almost burping when he's talking. It's very good. And he posts about doing a Jesse Solomon impression. And then Jesse comes into frame. He's like, no, no, it's more like this. And then the music for what would Jesse Solomon do? Starts. And that was so pointed because I'm laughing, going. So Wes impersonator is doing a video with Jesse for Jesse to send a sign of, like, I see this guy making fun of West. I'll do a video with him. So you guys know that west is not my friend right now.
Courtney
Oh. I mean, he's trying to get away from that also. He was betrayed, you know?
Mary
Yes. It's like, don't try to take me down on this sinking ship. I'm with the women and children on the Titanic. Okay.
Courtney
Right, Right. I did see this. Lexi, watch what happens. Live video resurface and saying how west and Jesse were frenemies, like you said.
Mary
Oh, Lexi Wood.
Courtney
Yes. Yes.
Mary
We've got two Lexis.
Courtney
Yes. And that has been resurfacing about how she called that out a long time ago. And I was like, yeah, I guess so.
Mary
It's just crazy because I think editing also plays such a factor too. And I think Wes was probably great to production. I think of, like, BravoCon, for instance, when we were were in that one room and Wes and Jesse came in the room and I was like, my God. Hi, Wes. And he's like, oh, get over here. And he was so friendly, and Jesse was, like, slightly standoffish. I don't feel like Jesse was mean, but it was day three of BravoCon. I think he was just tired. They still took pics with us that was nice, but it was like the energy coming from Wes versus coming from Jesse was like two totally different people.
Courtney
No, it's like you knew Wes because you met up with him in New York. And he said to me, he got goes, I haven't met you yet. So nice to meet you. And then we were like, can we grab a photo? And, yeah, Jesse, he had come in the room. They had came at the tail end, and you could tell he was just, like, ready to move on to the next thing. He was not super warm, but, like, Wes, once again, couldn't have been nicer. I mean, he makes you feel special. Thank God I've washed my face, but I was worried. It took some time.
Mary
It is tough. Like, again, that picture this morning popped up. You, me, and Wes on the super bowl boat. Should I delete it from my aura frame? Maybe? We look good. You and I look really good in that. And I'm sorry. I think if I look good in a photo, I'll put a black circle like Portia did over Simon's face.
Courtney
That was such a blast that day. We were underneath the Golden Gate Bridge with the DJ Kyle Cook. They were playing the jams. We were having the time of our lives. I love that day. That's such a great memory. And that was. Was pre Amanda and West.
Mary
Oh, I don't think it was because of Brianna Chicken Fry and Dave Portnoy.
Courtney
Right.
Mary
You know what? We were innocent at that point, and we should hold that day for what we felt in that day and not what we need to change. Okay. We were young and innocent and naive. We had no idea what was really happening.
Courtney
It's so true. It's so, so true.
Mary
Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened at the end of this. In the city is over. Summer House is over. What are you looking forward to now that we don't have this weekly show anymore? Or are you sad that it is over? It's going to be now, based on spottings, we're gonna know more about filming within the Summer House cast. But, like, bits and pieces.
Courtney
I mean, Courtney, we Talked for, like, 30 minutes yesterday just about Tiktoks and Instagram of the Hamptons over the weekend. So. So we'll still have stuff to talk about and more to come. And I am heavily invested in these people.
Mary
Yeah, summer should be fun. And, baby, we're having fun.
Courtney
Yeah. Okay, on that note, we'll see you guys tomorrow. Bye.
Mary
Bye.
