Mary
Welcome back to two judgy girls. This is Mary from the Bay, and
Courtney
it's Courtney from la. Happy Tuesday, Mary. How are you?
Mary
I'm doing great because some exciting news just dropped. Courtney.
Courtney
Oh, my God. Tell me.
Mary
Our 2022 March Madness winner, Andrea and his wife Lexi are expecting to have a baby. And I mean, that is three pregnancies in the city at this point.
Courtney
I know. That's wild. Danielle, Yvonne, and now Lexi. Congrats to them. It's also cute watching in the city and all these different couples talking about wanting to get pregnant, wanting to have babies, and then the reveals that it's all happening. So good for them.
Mary
Very, very exciting. And let's just hope they don't use the same playbook as the Valley.
Courtney
I hope that production has seen that. While we appreciate seeing these women' postpartum journeys, we also wish that they had a little bit more time to be able to recover and not feel like their jobs are on the line. In the City is kind of doing its own template, though, because obviously the Valley was a spin off of Vanderpump Rules, but realistically, it took a couple of years because actually, maybe in the City isn't its own template because it was supposed to happen after season eight, and then Kristen, Jackson, Saucy, all got fired, and so that had to wait a couple of years. And now we have in the City, which season one has taken place, but we have this west side Story scandal that's kind of messing with what the casting is for season two.
Mary
Right. And I feel like yesterday we didn't get to fully reflect on Wes not filming. He's not gonna be in the summer house. How are you feeling today about that?
Courtney
Well, okay, so the article did say that he might make some cameos. So I'm like, it could go with what we had been saying. Comes the first weekend, Amanda. Comes the first weekend, they squirm a little. They have more of a conversation. I'll be curious after tonight's episode, what the vibe is and where they can go move forward from. And I do think that they have taken Steps and differences from Vanderpump rules when it happened over there of how they're handling it. I think summer house is doing a much better job reflecting on it. I think that there's still a space for him somewhere. I would not be surprised if he turns up in season two, especially if they're still together and they'll be in season two of in the City. I do think that there is interest there of what's going on with them. I know we talked about the fandom yesterday and how long they let this go for, but realistically, every time something pops up, someone's right there to comment on it, someone's there to repost it. It is still a topic of conversation. What are your thoughts?
Mary
I feel like west is definitely not allowed to come back to the summer house because I think Sierra is going to come back. And because Sierra is going to come back, I also think Kyle and Carl are going to come back. Mia, K.J. jesse Bailey.
Courtney
Dara. Yes or no? Dara?
Mary
No.
Courtney
Okay.
Mary
And then Ben. I'm kind of on the fence with Ben.
Courtney
If Sabrina Bale comes with him or no.
Mary
Yes. I think that could work together, but. And then they'll maybe throw in some new people. But I don't think that Amanda will go to the summer house.
Courtney
No, I think Amanda's out unless they have her come for, like, a weekend with west. And I think that's fair. I want to see single Kyle and I don't want to see, like, single dad Kyle where Amanda's his child. Like, I don't want to see the relationship with him and Amanda in the summer house because summer should be fun. If we want to focus on the fallout of their divorce and all that on in the City, I'm happy to watch it over there.
Mary
I. I wonder too, if she even has a job within the city.
Courtney
I think so. I. I think she has a job there. I just don't think summer house makes sense. And I don't think people want to watch her in the summer house, especially now, because it's like, here's the new summer house. We were supposed to have new summer house this year. Now we have one more season. I think they'll defin, like you said, bring in a couple newbies because we will need to transition the other people out. I do see that this is now a path forward for Carl to be on season two. I know. Today Lindsay and Carl's podcast together came out. You've already listened to it. I'm going to listen to it later. And we'll discuss it tomorrow. Overall, just like a general vibe, I
Mary
don't think we learned anything new or exciting. I think the exciting part is that they have great chemistry and they're happy to be friends again and move forward, but there was nothing breaking or really exciting.
Courtney
But I think that is the breaking is that they've moved forward and they have this friendship again. So I'm excited to listen to them, just to hear them like gab together.
Mary
It really is Lindsay's whole story about her upbringing, about her college days, about moving to New York, living in LA for some time.
Courtney
It's fun.
Mary
Lindsay's life story.
Courtney
Well, I'm excited to listen to that. But I do think that opens up the door for Carl to come because you do need to have the next phase of life, which in the city is. And I think the mom part and the parent part is fun and we're seeing that. But I do wish that for like the three couples that are expecting that they do get a little time to recover, which hopefully they can. I mean, September's also right around the corner too. So it depends.
Mary
It on depends.
Courtney
Everything is so up in the air. And I think West's biggest downfall was talking on his podcast.
Mary
So you think that's what put the nail in the coffin for Bravo?
Courtney
I think him talking about it. I think that they were probably upset for his reunion performance. Now I also want to watch tonight's episode because I think it's a different space of being able to have a one on one conversation versus everybody mad at you and heat of the stage and having to defend your actions. And now it's a couple of weeks later that they're doing this. So I think that the conversations are going to be more different here. But I think him talking about it and I think the way that he spoke about it on Saturday specifically or whenever that most recent podcast came out where he's telling people not to watch the show and not to do this is because one, he probably already knew he didn't have a job at that point. But also you're saying all this stuff the way that Robin Dixon talked about Juan's affair behind a paywall for reasonably shady and that's what got her fired. Now she is back on this season of Potomac. So is he on pause or is there space for him on in the City? Would you want to watch him in that space? Where are you at with that?
Mary
So my overall thought is I think they were like we will do anything to keep Sierra and whatever Sierra wants. That's how we're going to move forward. So that's why he's not going to be on Summer House. Now, if we're assuming that Amanda is going to get to be on in the City, it'd be very weird if they were still dating and they don't share that story.
Courtney
Exactly.
Mary
But we don't know if they're still going to be together in the fall to share that story. And to be honest, if they're not, I don't need Amanda to be on in the City.
Courtney
I. I agree with that. I do think they would keep her, though. I just think for like the moms that are having the babies in the next few months is that they might put the focus on other people so that they can have their recovery in their time. And maybe they don't need to be a focal point like poor Kristen has been in this season, or like Nia, when you're watching this postpartum journey on them. I agree. I think if they're together in the fall, that they should be on the show together. And I do think that there is, as you mentioned too before, it's like this Bonnie and Clyde of us against the world, because no matter what happens on tonight's episode, we know they went to Italy. We know that they're still hanging out together. They were just spotted at another bar over the weekend. Like, we know that they're still in cahoots of whatever it is. So if they just hold on for three more months, what's another three months after this, you know?
Mary
Well, I mean, they're trauma bonded.
Courtney
I think everyone is. We all are. They are. The trauma is real and it's bonded us all.
Mary
I know, I know.
Courtney
I guess I just. It's not, as you mentioned, not surprising he's not returning to the Summer House, but I won't be surprised if we'll see him again.
Mary
I wondered yesterday because when Lindsay was posting her threads, she was like, I would do a video, but I'm on a plane right now. And then I started thinking, hmm, could Lindsay be filming for the Traitors? Because I think they do that before Summer House and it's like the two to three weeks, super intense.
Courtney
But I just thought about this, though. She wouldn't be flying to LA for Traders because that's further to Scotland.
Mary
Oh, she was flying to la.
Courtney
Yeah. I just thought about this because you had mentioned that before and I was like, oh, interesting. And then I realized she's actually said she was going to la.
Mary
Didn't they always film the Traders before Summer House?
Courtney
Yep.
Mary
What's going on with that? I just can't imagine that they wouldn't take one person from Summer House to be on Traders right now.
Courtney
Maybe they're going to LA to do some press for it. Then she's going to fly back to New York, fly to Scotland. Maybe they put the cast all together even though they pretend they don't know who's going to be there. Maybe they all fly together.
Mary
Lindsay's such a breadcrumber. And for her to say, I'm on a plane right now. I think you have to read into all her threads like you did when she did ww. The keyboard.
Courtney
Yeah, the keyboard smash. Even though she said, no, no, no, it was a keyboard smash. I don't know if I'm believing her still.
Mary
I don't.
Courtney
But I don't believe it either.
Brooke Devard
They.
Mary
I can't imagine they're not picking one person from Summer House. I mean, they've already had Kyle, they've already had Sierra. They wanted Lindsay previously. And this is the biggest reality t right now. They have to be taking one of them.
Courtney
You're so right.
Mary
You.
Courtney
You make a very compelling argument on that. It would be dumb for NBC to not include one. I think you're right. They usually do film because remember Sierra, two seasons ago had literally just come back right in.
Mary
In the Summer House. That's in three weeks. So Traitors has to be happening really, really soon.
Courtney
Give us the cast.
Mary
I know something. I just. I do remember Lisa Rena? She posted like an Instagram story and was like off to Scotland.
Courtney
Oh, she did? How did you see that? She's blocked us on everything.
Mary
I have my ways.
Courtney
Okay. I wanted to talk about this new mini drama series that's happening on Peacock with Heather Gay's daughter. Tell me about it. Yeah.
Mary
So it was like 27 parts. It's almost like watching a tick tock.
Courtney
Yeah.
Mary
And it's following Georgia and her struggles in college is called College Confessionals. She lives in Miami and she is having a hard time with her sorority. Having a really hard time fitting in. But this is super snackable. You can plow through this. I watched it while I was getting ready today. You get little glimpses of Heather as well and this young girl navigating through her college experience.
Courtney
Now, did it bring you back to your college days, Courtney?
Mary
It was. Couldn't be more different than our college days, I can tell you that.
Courtney
Oh, no.
Mary
And I in college were splitting a Little Caesar's $5 pizza and like scrounging together quarters to buy it. We Were that. That's true. You know, I know. I'm laughing because, I mean, we were drinking papa out of God even knows what I mean. Just like jungle juice. We were in the highest of heels walking to and from frat parties. Like, why would you wear heels to a frat party?
Courtney
It was always Steve Madden and it was like pointy toed heels that we were wearing with like Abercrombie jean skirts.
Mary
Yes. Or in a jean skirt. Yeah.
Courtney
Oh. To relive those days.
Mary
So she seems a lot more together than we were in college, I'll tell you that much.
Courtney
Wow. Thank God there was no social media, really, 20 years ago.
Mary
Oh, my God, thank God. God, thank God. Literally, like she talks about, there's like some app. Is it called Yik Yak or something? It's like Reddit for colleges. Okay. And she was like, put on that sounds awful.
Courtney
Oh, my God. I mean, we had the dirty. Do you remember that?
Mary
Yes.
Courtney
Someone posted me on that before. They just said I look like a rat. I was like, thank you. Splinter is my father. Like, like what? Literally, I was like, you guys called me a rat. That's the worst you could do?
Mary
Internet is so scary. Be nice, be kind.
Courtney
But college confessionals on Peacock Fun.
Mary
Yes.
Courtney
Okay, let's take a break and then I want to go into Atlanta. And I know you've talked about it, but I would also like to talk about a couple of things from the past weeks.
Mary
Of course.

Okay, so I want to talk about this dynamic between Shamia, Kelly, K. Pinky. I need Pinky to switch sides.
Mary
Oh, go against her newbie, K. Michelle.
Courtney
Not to go against, but I think she's just on the wrong side of this season and I still can't understand why. Episode one, we were told there was beef between Kelly and Pinky and we haven't seen seen any of that. Oh yeah, national anthem event from last week, the luncheon afterwards, and what was happening with Shamia and K going against Drew.
Mary
I felt bad for drew in the 100%.
Courtney
I was like, why are we ganging up on Drew who's just done this thing? And then after this week, I was like, wait, what is Shamia telling kids?
Mary
That's a very good question because obviously she got wasted after they went clubbing with Shamia's mother, whose tits were up, up, up, up.
Courtney
And they were praying, praying in the
Mary
club, praying for an hour in the club. But then she left the club crying because Shamia says, none of my friends want me to be your friend to Kate Michelle.
Courtney
Right. So then I'm like, if we go to the last week lunch where K coming in like right away mad at Drew because she is paranoid. Every week, like every week she's made up a new story of someone going after her. I don't even know why. This week she dropped candy coated nights into her confessional. Did you hear that?
Mary
Yes. Which made me feel like is is Candy doing something behind the scenes? Why was that brought up?
Courtney
I feel like it probably goes back to like her previous reality show, but I'm like, how is Candy being brought into this? Either way, K is like constantly paranoid and just going after Drew like that and then leaving, leaving her purse there, taking Shamia's car. Then Shamia runs out there Then they're both singing the national anthem. And then I'm like, what is happening? Because that's a royalty free song we can sing on camera.
Mary
That was so, so cinematic, that moment. It was absolutely hysterical. Them just driving us singing it. This episode was a filler episode. Sure, last week was great, but I think you're onto something where there's more happening behind the scenes and they're not giving us the full story of what's going on. So it's kind of getting a little confusing.
Courtney
And every week, Kay has a new conspiracy theory that everyone is out to get her. And I'm gonna say alleged. I do worry about her drinking this week. She said when she sat down with Pinky, just give me the hard stuff. I don't want any of those juices. And I said, huh? But I do wonder if Kay's paranoia comes from a little bit of drinking.
Mary
Oh. I mean, as a girl that orders dirty martinis myself, I can't judge, you know, because that is just straight liquor.
Courtney
Well, sure. Oh, and don't get me wrong, I love a martini, but I think I would just order the martini as opposed to saying, give me a cup of alcohol, no mixer.
Mary
That's, you know, that's the workaround. Just ordering the martini. Yeah.
Courtney
I'm losing the plot here with K. Because she started off so strong on this show. We were like, oh, my God, she's gonna be the new queen bee. And then week, week, it's like getting worse.
Mary
I agree. And the audience has turned on her. The only thing that could happen is that she has a great reunion.
Courtney
Do you think Will. Maybe. Maybe.
Mary
I'm hopeful for her. I feel like Andy really likes her as well. I think she's gonna get a second shot at this.
Courtney
I would be fine with them keeping the cast the same. Maybe we have to get rid of Kelly or Shamia. One of one or the two of them could go. Or be a friend. You try too hard, Kelly. You are B R O K E bro.
Mary
Wait, okay, let's talk about Shamia at Lake Bailey first. Cynthia's like, okay, let's kind of run through the group because you don't seem to be on good terms with anyone. First, Angela. I heard you guys sat down and that went horribly. And she's just like, yes, that didn't go well.
Courtney
Don't talk about my marriage. And I'm like, I think you started it, though, Shamia.
Mary
Next, let's talk about Drew. What's your issue with Drew? Well, she keeps bringing up Portia, but she's like, slowly going through the cast, and it's like, shamia, no one likes you.
Courtney
Yeah, well, she's like, but since you did mention Portia, why didn't you invite her to Gerald's surprise party? Because she invited you to her party. And then since you didn't invite her, why did you invite Dennis?
Mary
And. And then she doubles down and was like. Like, if Simon was in the country, I probably would have invited him, too. Because Gerald's friends with all of them. Like, no, Shamia, no, this is not making you look better. And then Cynthia's trying to help her. She's like, right, well, what else is going on? Because you're gonna look so bad. So what is going on under the surface? And she opens up about the surrogacy, and there is a lot writing on that. The only boy left worried for Shamia,
Courtney
because I'm worried, like, Gerald wants a boy so badly, and I'm like, if this doesn't take. I honestly wonder, and I've thought this about their marriage is like, would he leave her potentially to go have a boy with someone younger? Like, it feels like there's a lot of pressure on this embryo. And I think Cynthia is correct when she says, do you think your energy towards the women is misdirected because of all the pressure of your relationship, of the surrogacy? She's like, no, no, I don't. No, I don't think that. And, like, I've been thinking this. Like, Shamia, I feel like there's a lot of pressure on you for this, and I worry.
Mary
No, I mean, I think he really loves her. I feel bad for her because they obviously envisioned always having a big family, and it's not happening the way they envision. So there is a lot of pressure. But I think Gerald a good guy, and I hope that they can make it through this challenging time, and I hope they get that baby boy.
Courtney
I agree. I hope it all works out for them. But we know Gerald doesn't like the show. He doesn't want her acting. There's a lot of things that I'm like, oh, I just worry for Shamia's marriage, and I think they'll be fine. But I do worry that the way that she's coming off this season isn't going to benefit her and cause more problems than it is solutions. And I do think she's having a rough go because I think she thought, okay, I'm not going to be Portia's sidekick. I'm going for the queen bee spot. And it's not working because they're like, so no. Cynthia, who's literally clocking in so hard. As a friend of like, we're going to Lake Bailey. We're doing the Bailey bowl next week. Like, Cynthia's a full time housewife. As a friend of, she better be getting a high paycheck. As a friend of, she's doing a lot here.
Mary
And she was on watch what happens live this week as well. And they talk about her being in the friend role and she said it so nice. She was like, you know, I think the friend role in the past was looked as like a downgrade, but she has kind of redefined the friend role. She's a seasoned housewife and she's able to move the story. She's able to like help with the narration and it's worked out really well. And I feel like this is the first time she's like elevated the friend of level.
Courtney
I completely agree with this. She took them to Dallas. She has done so much on this season. More so also maybe because some of the housewives who are full time can't afford to do that. We've got two bankruptcies. We've got Kelly. It's just in a place. I mean, thank God Shamia is leaning into this friend role. Real friend, not friend of real friend role for Kelly. Like, these women are bailing Kelly out.
Mary
Seeing this week, Phaedra and Shamia help Kelly. I honestly started crying with Phaedra scene because I mean, Kelly really needs this. So she had to move out of her place because she has had such a tumultuous relationship with her neighbor. You found an article from the fall and sent it to me.
Courtney
Well, I was like, this is crazy. She's like being harassed by this neighbor. What's going on? So I like googled it and there's this US magazine article from last fall where Kelly is actually the person who is in the wrong, I guess because she's talking about how Chloe, you know, she kept trying to like boot Chloe's car. I guess Chloe kept parking in a fire lane and was told not to. And then Kelly went into the backyard of this woman's house and started harassing her and that's why she has to move. So we're not getting the full story from Kelly. And I just think though, Kelly, I'm worried about where you are putting your money towards. We're talking about Jarvis, which that guy's not real. Jarvis is paying $75,000 for Kelly to get her teeth done. But Kelly can't afford to live somewhere and is living in one of Shamia's investment properties. I don't know, maybe the 75k could have gone towards that.
Mary
I'd also be very curious if Shamia is charging her to stay there. Like, even. Even. Maybe not market rate or anything, but, like, make some type of payment. I would love to know that. But I did think what Phaedra is doing for her is really empowering and just, like, comes from a good place. You know, she's, like, really helping her. She can't afford to pay these lawyers anymore. But something about Phaedra, I'm like, wait, does Phaedra really have an office? Like, where would this office come from? I mean, she's not practicing law every day. Like, she's always gonna keep up her JD and be able to. But I'm like, where was this office coming from? Then they're popping champagne.
Courtney
I don't know.
Mary
Like, I can see them popping champagne after the meeting was done. But it was like, as soon as
Courtney
she sat down, it was like, so. It was like, too much. This is so silly. Because then it also made me think about. Remember when she represented Charay all those seasons ago, too? It is nice to have someone who's not charging you, but when it comes to Kelly, I'm just worried about where her motives lie for everything and if she's putting the energy into the right areas. I understand not being able to film with the kids. I get that. But I'm like, is that such a pivotal thing for you to have to have these kids film with you? At the end of the day, we could spend time with your bankruptcy, with your businesses and the kids and the teeth and the 200 white t shirt that she's wearing in her confessional with no pants.
Mary
I mean, I think the real part about not being able to film with the kids is that her ex is trying to control her. And that is the real issue with. With the filming thing. Maybe not necessarily that the kids are not being able to be filmed, but it's like that he is trying to have power over her. And it's like, right now, this TV show is her livelihood, so she wants to be able to show I'm a mom. She wants to show every aspect of her life, life, and he's not allowing her to do that.
Courtney
And that I. I totally understand. I wish it was more presented like that. When she was like, yeah, the kids are like, are we not good enough? That feels icky. It's more just like, you know, he's controlling me. He doesn't want them filmed. And then he. Because he wants to hurt me. I feel like if she presented differently, maybe it would go over better with me personally.
Mary
Yeah. I just see this woman struggling so much she had to move out of her house. She can't even afford to have these lawyers. Her ex isn't even giving her money for the. Just a fucked up situation. Also, not always what I want to watch on Housewives. I want to be behind the gates. I want Rolls Royces. I want Portia's lifestyle to be shown.
Courtney
I'm fine with seeing a struggle season. I think we've seen that. Like the casita with Gina. Even though, again, how do they keep going? The real struggle doesn't bother me. But I was thinking with Kelly, I also, though, think that the lack of money she has is also from this show because I think about Lisa Rinna's book. She talks about, you were renting clothes. You are surviving to be a housewife. You're lucky to break even after a season because you're paying for all these different things. You want to have, like, the best names. You want to do this, this and that. And so is the show actually making Kelly's life worse or is it making it better?
Mary
I think that's a really good point. I mean, even her publicist is there. I'm like, how can you have a publicist right now? How can you be paying that person? Even the dog's haircut, the dye job, I'm like, the poor dog. Why are you paying for that right now? That's something that you can take off the budget.
Courtney
We could budget a little better. Yeah, I. I agree. I do think that these shows, if you were not financially stable and smart with your money, it could be gone like that. And then you're struggling to stay on the show, so you have a paycheck. Except that the paycheck is going to staying on the show. It's a vicious cycle for some of these housewives. And then you have people like Shamia who has all this money and all this time and. And also isn't happy.
Mary
I know, I know, I know. It's actually sweet. Let's take a break and talk about Portia and Mike.

One crunchy bite of Hershey's Cookies and Cream bar and I'm taken right back to college Move in day I was a little overwhelmed by the newness of it all. Boxes were everywhere. I needed a break from unpacking. But just as I was able to take a breath and open my Hershey's Cookies and Cream bar, my new roommate Rachel walked in. I offered her a piece, but she said no. Then after a beat she said, actually those are my favorite ones. We left, the ice was broken and we've been friends ever since. Hershey's. It's your happy place. Because this is what I want to watch. I want to watch a chef cooking. I want to see someone so rich they don't even need a doorbell.
Courtney
I was like not even the ring doorbell to see who's there. But I also love too where she was like, yeah, I was at Culture Con and I said I'm dating two people and he's great and she's great. I love this for Portia. Portia is actually having a fantastic season. I did not enjoy her last season. I'm having so much fun with her this season.
Mary
No, it's interesting her navigating this two relationships. Mike seems like a good guy. Obviously she doesn't end up picking him. We know she's with With Sway.
Courtney
I like picking him as if this is the Bachelorette.
Mary
Kind of feel like that she would
Courtney
have been so great on Love Hotel.
Mary
Oh, yes. What happened with that? Why are we not getting another season?
Courtney
Sonia, Portia, Heather, what's going on? I mean, obviously Portia is busy, and Sonia's a liability, and people turned on Heather, so we do need a new cast. But what is happening with the show?
Mary
But I'm, like, curious how much longer she's gonna string along Mike for.
Courtney
But why is Mike sticking around? Mike wants kids. Portia's done. She doesn't want it. And I believe that we know that they're not sleeping together either. Portia said the little pee pee, not his me. And so it's like, if those are his intentions and he wants kids, even though he's enjoying this. And I'm like, is he with her for the fame? Mike, are you a bad guy guy? Don't make us turn on you.
Mary
I. I feel like so far I've liked what I've seen.
Courtney
Yeah, I know. I agree.
Mary
Yeah.
Courtney
But it's not going to work out, because eventually, if you want, great. Even though I do love this line from Portia when she was like, you've gone 40 years so far. Like, it's not like you're some spring chicken, Mike. So if that's your deal breaker, you better get on it.
Mary
Great. Wait, what did you think about this ending with Dennis?
Courtney
Dennis is an emotional terrorist, and he is the trauma. Dennis, you cheated on Portia when she was pregnant. You fucked up. So then to turn around and think that you should have any say over her love life, watching that actually made me think about, there are people in your life that you have dated at one point that it just did not work out with. It can't work out for certain reasons. Portia loves Dennis so much, but has been so betrayed by him that. That it cannot go back to what it was because he'll do it again.
Mary
Originally, when I saw this, like, from a commercial, I. I thought maybe Porsche kind of wanted him to do this to make some drama. But then seeing when he leaves and her, like, break down to the camera and saying, did you guys know he was going to come over with this ring? And then what was his intention of giving back the ring? Was it saying, I want to give this a third shot? Or was it saying, I could see this is completely over. Here's the ring back for you to just have because I'm done, and eventually it will go to Pilar. I didn't even know what his angle was to bring the ring.
Courtney
He's sitting there in those tight ass jeans, those ankle huggers, and he's slouched down. He throws like a Cartier box at her. Now, as someone who shops exclusively not at Cartier or any of those stores, that seemed like a bracelet box that he gave to her. Like, not even the ring box that it goes in because it was larger. It was, yeah, it was pretty big that I was like, is that the size that you get rings from Cartier in again? I don't know.
Mary
We'll never know.
Courtney
But why is he doing this? And then when she was like, this is so triggering, I thought, oh, my God, it is so true with production, because production doesn't give you a script. This is quote, unquote, unscripted. But they have an idea of what this conversation is going to be about. Portia and Dennis talk. Portia has been asking Dennis for a ring. Dennis is bringing the ring. So then almost asking production, like, are you guys betraying me now?
Mary
Right? And she doesn't know kind of what is real.
Courtney
And Atlanta's been doing a really interesting thing this season too. And they've done it before, but they're like on the spot confessionals where they're talking to the camera.
Mary
Real time reaction.
Courtney
Yeah, a real time reaction has really made it more exciting because it's in real time. We're not. Not reflecting back on it. We're in the moment.
Mary
And this is what we used to do after the. The wig shift, that this is exactly what we had this spot on. And that's what we got this time with Shamia and Angela when they got into that huge fight. And it's great.
Courtney
I always think about Bethany when she was the roller girl and Kelly came late to the Halloween party that Kelly threw. And then Bethany skates off onto the streets of New York.
Mary
I don't remember this right now.
Courtney
Oh, my God. She's wearing a blonde wig. She has like this like red terry cloth, like, dolphin short jumper. And she' roller girl. And she's wearing like the tall socks and roller skates. And she's like, she thinks she is who she thinks she is. And then she just rolls off and skates off onto the streets of New York. Kind of like how Kelly used to run in traffic.
Mary
Oh, my God, So kooky. So kooky.
Courtney
The other day, Kelly Bensmo posts this photo of her with the Knicks shirt on in the middle of the street with a cat behind her. And it just brought back that running scene.
Mary
Never forget, never Forget never. Never.
Courtney
But yeah, Dennis does not get a say in her life. And I love too, because I bet Suede has not put up with his at all.
Mary
Yeah, you can tell he's manipulative and that he is working her.
Courtney
And the chemistry that they have is so crazy because it's like, you can tell, like, there is real love there. And if he didn't do the. That he did, it could have worked out. I think Portia is a sliding doors with Dennis of like, what would my life have been like if I stayed? If he didn't do that, things could be so perfect and he messed everything up.
Mary
Yes, he did.
Courtney
Frickin hot dog king. Okay, let's talk about Angela. Ugh. Ugh. First off, Angela is such an OG Atlanta housewife. It, like, bothers me it took us so long to get her on this cast because I feel like with the OGs of Portia, Phaedra, Cynthia, and Drew, when they go over to Drew's house house, I'm like, this five some right here feels like old school Atlanta to me.
Mary
Also, Drew had a feast for a hundred people. There was so much food there for the five women. I was like, who is this food for?
Courtney
When Portia got in the car with Phaedra, I could have never guessed the location was just Drew's house.
Mary
I know you're. That's such a good point.
Brooke Devard
I.
Mary
That is such a good point.
Courtney
Like, Phaedra is in this, like, banged wig. She's wearing, like, this like, leopard outfit. Portia. I feel like this is all the same day for Portia with like, Mike and. And Dennis feels like she's wearing that same dress, but it's like all cut out. And I just was like, oh, where are we going? Out to lunch? Just to Drew's house. We can bang on the floor and do Morse code so Ralph can hear it. Oh, God, I love that there was
Mary
so many funny moments here. Like them going over in Phaedra's like, so I know everyone likes surfing turf. And then Drew giving Portia the. The rainbow cake. And then Portia's like, well, you can have half.
Courtney
You know, she just eats the bite they were making me also when Phaedra's like, everyone says I look like naturally not. And Cynthia's like, you. And then the side buys to do. And I was like, this is so silly. This is exactly what I want from them when they have these funny moments.
Mary
But they were having fun, and they also had fun at the 80s party. And to bring this back to Angela, I love the support the women gave to her because she's really having a hard time. Her mom's passing was a year ago, and Portia brings this beautiful picture frame with her mother in it. Pinky and Drew had flowers for her. Everyone's rallying around her. I thought her conversation with her brother was super interesting. Interesting when it was talking about their mom, but then also about her daughter, who hasn't shared with the younger siblings that she is married.
Courtney
Why do you think she's not sharing that, though? That was a whole thing where she hid it from Angela last season. And so we knew about that. And so they only know her wife as her best friend. I think it's time to share.
Lifestyle Advertiser
Yes.
Courtney
There is something about watching someone's grief or sharing how they're grieving or just talking about it that, like, really tugs at my heartstring. I was tearing up. And the way that the women really did come to support Angela. And they do a flashback to an event that was earlier in the day where every woman seemingly took time out of their day to recognize Angela's mother's passing. And I was like, this is such a sweet moment for the cast to put everything aside, even Shimmy, I think sent Angela flowers, too, and that they
Mary
were all able to have fun this night. It looked like this event was, like, a total, total blast. The roller skating.
Courtney
Was there any point to the party besides Pinky just hosting it?
Mary
I think it was just.
Courtney
Just fun.
Mary
You know, you have to meet. Meet your quota. And to promote the food trucks for Dave's cheese steak.
Courtney
I believe there was a slutty vegan one, too. Unless Dave also has catchphrases where they yell that you're a slut. We got some sluts up in here. The first time, I was a little jarring. The second time, I was like, thank you.
Mary
No, they. They all got into it. I loved the dancing at the end. Like, the dance off. It looks like a blast.
Courtney
Angela made me laugh when she brought her own skates because she had size 11ft.
Mary
I think it's 12. Is it 12?
Courtney
It could be. I don't know.
Mary
They need to stop talking about Angela's feet, okay? Leave her alone.
Courtney
Like when they would talk about Mia's feet on Potomac. Some people just have big feet. Also, Angela is tall. When she showed up, I was like, she is 2K Michelle stacked.
Mary
And that's three Kelly's.
Courtney
It's three Kelly's. Exactly. Angela's just tall. I believe she's proportional. Mia was tall, too. I'm still waiting to See Mia pop up in a scene. Remember, they all moved to Atlanta.
Mary
Oh, yeah. Well, speaking of popping up in scenes, we had Montel Jordan.
Courtney
This is how we do it. This is how we do it.
Mary
Pinky is connected, though. Montel Jordan. Maury, we're not giving these people enough accolades.
Courtney
Well, I didn't realize that Montel Jordan went from musician to marriage counselor.
Mary
Really does it all.
Courtney
Truly. He's like, and this is how we do it. What if he just starts all the sessions out like that?
Mary
Wasn't that song in the Nutty Professor?
Courtney
Maybe it's like, we need that. It's like, this is how we do it. And then it, like, remixes into, like. I guess I'll start. Jesse saw. I'm like, this is how we do it. I guess I'll start. We've got to do some mashups here. Kyle Cook. Put that in your DJ set.
Mary
There you go.
Courtney
A Montel Jordan remix with Jesse Solomon. I guess I'll start. Perfect. I feel like he could do it.
Mary
And baby gorgeous Lisa Barlow. And then a little wildfire.
Courtney
Perfect. Oh, my God. Baby gorgeous. Honestly, it's a bop.
Mary
You're just baby gorgeous.
Courtney
Where's the music video? And then she captioned something. Dancing in the Stars. And I said, if you put my baby G on Dancing with With the Stars. Oh, my God, Mary. Just think of how I'll have to vote tense for everyone.
Mary
Wait. Oh, my God. That's gonna happen.
Courtney
You think so?
Mary
Yes.
Courtney
Or is she throwing us off as she's going to traitors.
Mary
Oh, I. I think she'd do better in Traders than she would on Dancing with the Stars. I hate to say it.
Courtney
I would love to see her on either.
Mary
I don't think she'd be great on Dancing with the Stars, but you're not
Courtney
supposed to be great at Dancing with the Stars, okay?
Mary
You just gotta improve every week.
Courtney
You start out low and then you go high. Okay. You can't be getting tens the first week. Okay, Come on now. I would love to see her on it.
Mary
We need this Traders cast. I'm very excited. It just. It literally has to be happening tomorrow.
Courtney
No. You peaked by interest, and now everything's going.
Mary
Any final thoughts?
Courtney
I don't have any final thoughts, except minus this being a filler episode. I have really enjoyed this season, to be honest.
Mary
I had a great time recapping it with you. I enjoyed it more than watching it.
Courtney
I 100% agree. I still had so much fun talking this with you, and I guess it's just like, at the end of the day. Do you think that Kelly can get herself out of this?
Mary
It's gonna take some time.
Courtney
Do you think Shamia can turn it around?
Mary
She's got to move forward with the group and have fun.
Courtney
Okay. Can K Michelle stop being paranoid?
Mary
I think she's gonna go the rest of the season being paranoid. And at the reunion, she has to say, I was paranoid and I didn't play my cards right.
Courtney
Okay. Will Pinky defect to the other side?
Mary
No. She seems like a pretty loyal person, so I think she'll stand behind K.
Courtney
Wait, can we also talk about two?
Mary
Yeah.
Courtney
I wanted to talk about Pinky, her show, and the fact that she thought that Drew was going to audition. What did you think about that?
Mary
I think Drew was like, this show is a $40,000 budget. You can't afford me. And that's why she was saying, you need to go through my agents, because she was not gonna take the job.
Courtney
And just because she has a producing credits with, like, Maury and stuff does not mean she can produce a TV show that's probably not even been sold yet. So Drew's probably. Probably an offer only. Whereas Shamia does need to audition. Yeah. Can Portia and Dennis move forward?
Mary
Yes. I think they'll continue to be great co parents and they'll go in the roles and get McDonald's after they drop off Pilar.
Courtney
Can Phaedra do better as a housewife or should she be a friend of?
Mary
I think she can fall into that Cynthia role and do an excellent job because I just feel like she's not really sharing her own life.
Courtney
Life.
Mary
So I think she can be an elevated friend of.
Courtney
Okay, and then what do we do with Drew?
Mary
We have that spin off with all her assistants and hair. Oh, my God.
Courtney
How fun would that. Okay. The fact that they spent like 15 minutes on an episode with her team, I was like, honestly, I would watch a four episode spin off of her team. Yeah, it would be pretty funny.
Mary
Yeah.
Courtney
Did I get everyone there?
Mary
I think you did. I think you did a pretty good job.
Courtney
Okay, well, until next time.
Mary
Okay. We'll be back tomorrow with Summer House, the final episode, the Aftermath. Bye. Bye. Acast powers the world's best podcasts. Here's a show that we recommend. What if you laughed all through your commute? Or if you heard the funniest story while at the gym?
