it's Courtney from la. Happy Tuesday, Mary.
Mary
Happy Tuesday. Give me a little World cup update.
Courtney
Oh my God. This tournament, first off, I cry six times a day now. They're happy tears. But I am on that TikTok, I am on Instagram reels and I am just watching stories about people going to the World cup games. And this is like a lifelong dream. And like I was able to buy my dad a ticket or my boyfriend's dream and I'm sending him and his brother tears all day long. I'm telling you, you guys, even if you're like not a soccer fan or football depending on where you're listening from, there is just something about the uniting of all of these countries that are participating. These like underdogs who are getting further in the tournament than expected. Just like the fandom and it's just feeling good about it. But let me tell you, yesterday this France game, it took place in Philly, I believe, and there was rain delay. Well, that threw off my whole day.
Mary
Mary. Oh no.
Courtney
I'll just like walk outside and then I come back and the game's back on. But then it's also going at the same time as the Norway game. And I'm like, this is too much because I'm going to go see France Norway on Friday. And I'm trying to watch both games, and then I'm like, do I second screen it? How am I supposed to watch my Bravo shows? It's just what a conundrum I am living over here.
Mary
That sounds like a stressful time.
Courtney
Thank you for understanding.
Mary
What I'm really wanting to watch this week is that Nanny, Hulu show and also DCC back on Netflix. I really want to watch those two things.
Courtney
I started America's Sweethearts the other day. I got through one episode. How is feels a little bit different than the previous seasons. Here's the thing. I know it's one of the biggest organizations. I know the Cowboys is international. I do fear it's taking itself too seriously.
Mary
Well, it's that Kelly.
Courtney
It's that Kelly. Kelly has this, like, innate ability to make these women feel small. She has beef with this one girl, Klein, because Klein's kind of a jokester. Maybe she takes it seriously. But, like, also is maybe trying to have fun or, you know, she makes jokes here and there. Maybe I see myself in her. So I see it. But she keeps putting her down. This girl's been on the team for, like, five years.
Mary
Kelly is so old school. It's like looks first, personality second. And she's very all about appearances and how you appear to the world. Like, your posture has to be perfect. You say please and thank you, ma'. Am. I mean, them calling them ma'. Am. This is a job. And they call the coaches ma'. Am. It is so backwards. But that's why I like watching it, because it's so out of date and out of touch. And for me, that's fascinating to watch, especially as a person that lives in California, let alone San Francisco, and we
Courtney
can't even touch our toes. You think I'm gonna get in a kick line? You think I'm gonna do a jump split?
Mary
I mean, there's nothing better. When that song comes on. Thunder. Thunder.
Courtney
Thunderstruck. And they have to skip walk across the five yards, it's like there are only a few steps. Each time they have to hit that line. Each time they go the to the center of the field, I would always
Mary
be the person like, two inches short. And then the whole team would have to start again because I didn't hit the line.
Courtney
Mary, you're really Ruining it. You need to be tighter. Oh. So in the beginning of episode two, they're talking about the finals tryouts, and they have the celebrity judge. I'm going to give you four guesses who the celebrity judges, and I'll tell you musician and woman. Okay.
Mary
Carrie Underwood.
Courtney
No.
Mary
Shania twain.
Courtney
No.
Mary
Catherine McPhee.
Courtney
God, no. You're getting worse. Catherine McPhee. I said celebrity Stephen Foster's 17th wife.
Mary
Give me, like, one more hint.
Courtney
She's country, kind of pop and smokes
Mary
a lot of weed. Oh, the weeds throwing me off here. Okay, just tell me.
Courtney
Casey Musgraves.
Mary
Oh, you should have just said Kyle Richards look alike.
Courtney
So sorry. I'd related to Bravo.
Mary
So how did Casey do?
Courtney
Well, I haven't gotten there yet. Oh, okay. That's where I left off. Was that she was going to be the guest judge.
Mary
I just. I love that show.
Courtney
I know. There's something about. Because it is so backwards. And it's fascina, though.
Mary
Yes. Yeah.
Courtney
It's like a peek behind the curtains we should never be peeking behind, but we gotta.
Mary
Yeah. And that they continue to sign up to do it. Like, Kelly, you're the villain in your own show.
Courtney
Do you watch it back and then try to. Course Correct. And then you're like, this is just who I am. A leper can't change its spots.
Mary
There's something very much that they want to keep about the institution. And it is a privilege to be a DCC cheerleader. And we used to not even do it for money. It's like these women are all working jobs, busting their asses to be a part of this institution. It's totally crazy. I'm really excited that they've gotten a lot more notoriety and have the Tick Tocks and the Instagrams and are able to make sponsorships because these women deserve it. It's truly wild. And I hope they get paid to get do the Netflix show as well. They must. Right.
Courtney
Last season, that was a big thing, remember, was that they were changing the rules and they were fighting for more money and a stronger salary. And a lot of that did happen. And there is this line, influencer versus cowboy. How much that they can control your social media.
Mary
Right. But also give these people livable wages. I agree. They are dedicating their lives to this. They're working over 40 hours a week on DCC and it's like a hobby and an extracurricular. And when it should be a salaried position, that's at least six figures.
Courtney
Well, they also started almost Like a Rockettes version of the dcc. So they have these shows now. They addressed that in the first episode. So I have to assume too, this is another way for them to get salaries and make money. But again, I gotta watch more episodes.
Mary
I hope they can make a career off being DCC cheerleaders and go beyond the cowboys.
Courtney
Anyways, what is the other show that you were talking about? The Nanny show.
Mary
The Nanny show, which I've heard kind of mixed reviews because maybe they're actors and they're not the real nannies taking care of the children. So I'm unsure. I haven't given it a shot yet. I know, like, one of the nannies used to work with the Kardashians and I saw this headline that she had slept with a dad.
Courtney
Which dad?
Mary
A dad. I don't know. Mystery.
Courtney
A man who has a child and she was nanny for the dad. Please report back at end of week if you find time.
Mary
Also, this links me in because Lamar was spotted with Natalie from vpr. They were?
Courtney
Yeah, at the Vanderpump Hotel opening.
Mary
No, I think it was in Vegas, though, and it was at one of those Saddle Ranch bars where you ride the cowboys.
Courtney
Oh, like where they went on Beverly Hills where they ride the bulls. Was that in Vegas? Yeah. Remember when Sutton takes them there?
Mary
Yeah.
Courtney
They go to the Cowboy Bar.
Mary
Yeah. So they, like, cross paths. It's just like a full cir all the time. Kardashians to Bravo. Yeah.
Courtney
Okay, great. Got a lot to check out.
Mary
Very true.
Courtney
Report back though. Okay, let's take a break and then let's come and talk.
Mary

We one upped ourselves with my Sapphire

Courtney
I've got ideas.

Courtney
you want your bananas. Shoppers can see your preferences upfront, helping guide their choices. Because when it comes to groceries, the details matter.
Mary
Instacart get groceries just how you like. So this was definitely a filler episode. It starts off with Cynthia going over to Angela's house, and I was so distracted by Angela's booty in that green dress. It had the kind of those.
Courtney
The ruching.
Mary
Yeah, yeah, it looked great, but I
Courtney
was just like, whoa, whoa. You were looking respectfully or disrespectfully?
Mary
A little bit of both.
Courtney
I think Cynthia is literally the best friend of that any franchise has ever had. She is clocking in to work. She is giving more than half of the women on this cast and I am here for another event she's throwing with this Bailey bowl. But also in honor of Angela's mom, she is putting the work in.
Mary
Well, I also feel like they just respect her and that's why this friend of role. I think this is what it always should have been. It's someone to narrate. It's someone to bring the group together. And I think Phaedra can transition to that role as well. But it's like, it's about time. Friend of was such a demotion in the past, but this really shows what a friend of could be. And I'm really hoping this is how Carol will appear on Real Housewives of New York.
Courtney
It's almost like a mentor role in a way. So it's like, do we recreate what the friend of is, as you're saying? As opposed to bringing someone in and testing them and letting them appear every so often. In the 20th year of Housewives, a friend of is actually someone from previous who they bring in, who can help move storylines along, who can teach the newbies how to be a housewife, who can step in and step out whenever they want to, as opposed to do we like them enough to promote them?
Mary
And I also feel like this is the role that Vicki should take. I know she's actually holding an orange, but I hope she holds herself to this standard.
Courtney
Mary. Mary. No, no.
Mary
I do think because Vicki had to be a friend of a few times since she hasn't been a housewife. So I actually do think she's gonna lean into bringing everyone together and silly and fun and try to stay away from the drama. That is my prediction.
Courtney
I would love and write this down because we'll forget. I think we need to have a fall counter for Vicki for Orange County. How many times does Vicki fall over? And honestly, put one for Shannon too, because they're gonna out clumsy each other this year.
Mary
I feel like in the first episode, they go down to Puerto Vallarta, just the two of them, and as soon as they hit that sand, they are going to be somersaulting over each other. I can picture it now.
Courtney
You're so right. Oh, the sand dune, it got me. And they're gonna have a large sombrero on their head and it's gonna cockeyed on them when they stand up. Like, how do we get here? Oh, boy.
Mary
Do you think they practice the falls? I mean, clearly they talk about it ahead of time. How does that go down?
Courtney
They go to, like, a gymnastics gym. And you know those foam blocks that you can, like, jump into? They, like, practice their falls. Okay. To get the most amount of giggle. Not hurt.
Mary
No, but they also. They do like to get hurt. They love to end up in a wheelchair.
Courtney
You're so right.
Mary
So it's all part of the shtick.
Courtney
I mean, I think about that ropes course and just how that was a danger for the two of them. Full mess. I don't even know how we got here.
Mary
I don't either. So back. Oh, I know, I know. Because we're talking about how Cynthia is such a great friend of. So she's filling in Angela all about her conversation with Shimon. And she's being very sweet about Shamia. She's recommended her going to therapy. Shamia said she doesn't have time for that.
Courtney
Yeah. I also laugh too, because there is nothing I love more when they're eating food. The amount of food when Angela's like, I've been in the kitchen all day and she has, like, all this catered food. I'm like, this is amazing. And I love. Because this. And then the Portia Drew scene is that they said, we're eating.
Mary
They were eating. Also remember Drew's house when she had the ladies over for lunch? There was food for A hundred people.
Courtney
Well, she had to feed her. Her crew of 20 after.
Mary
Exactly. How do you eat your chicken wings? Do you break the bone? Are you a flat or a drumstick person?
Courtney
Mary, literally, for. So I'm both. But I. In the scene, I was like, I'd have to be Drew because I'm actually Portia. But I'm fucking feral. Like, you think Emily is feral. I have a no wing in public. Rules for myself.
Mary
It's funny because I don't think I've ever seen you eat a wing.
Courtney
You won't, but I eat wings. Often I eat wings. Costco has great wings. I love a Tyson wing from the grocery store. I love a wing at home smothered in ranch. Okay. I love a Wingstop. I love a buffalo wild wing. I love a wing. You'll never know because I only eat it in my home. When I was in college, in our dorm, Fridays, they would have wings. And my roommate and I would load a plate and we would go sit in the corner table and face the wall. I'm being dead serious. We would face the wall because we were like, people cannot see us. Chow on these, get sauce everywhere. And the ridiculous amount of ranch we're bringing with us. Did you also see, by the way, side note, going back to World cup, that a lot of tourists that have come this have been trying to take ranch back with them and that TSA has literally had to tweet, like, you need to check the ranch. You cannot bring ranch on as a carry on. You can only have, like, 3.2 fluid ounces of it. Like, we really gotta check the ranch, guys.
Mary
I did see that. I know you're not a blue cheese, girly. I like my wings in a buffalo sauce and a little ranch as well. I'm like, drew, I leave a lot of meat behind because I don't like the skin so much.
Courtney
That's all you're eating, though.
Mary
I know. I know. When. So when I eat a rotisserie chicken, I don't eat the skin. Okay. But I only like the flats. I don't like the drumstick too much. It's too fatty on it.
Courtney
Too much skin. Okay, that's fair. But I'm telling you, with the flats, like, I'm breaking them apart. I'm putting the full bone in my mouth and pulling it out clean.
Mary
We. I kind of want to see that.
Courtney
No, no. It's disgusting. So going back to the show, we
Mary
haven't talked about Angela's Pink Mermaid confessional look. I'm obsessed with that.
Courtney
What do you think the dress is fine? But my favorite part about it is when she's in the confessional with Charles and he's in all white with a matching tie to compliment her dress. And I said, give him a shovel. Give them something. I need more Charles and Angela, their banter, her own. Watch what happens live wearing that Nyx dress. I just. The two of them, I love them.
Mary
And Andy was very cute. He was like, a lot of it is you guys bickering on tv, but we know you truly love each other. And I felt like that was a sweet moment. I feel like Andy really liked that Charles was in the audience. He really respects him as a New Yorker himself. And they talked all about the Knicks winning and how the broad Bravo verse was going crazy and how it sent Angela with her husband at the Knicks game. Meanwhile, he played for 10 years on the Knicks and can't go to MSG, but potentially Taylor Swift's wedding venue.
Courtney
Did you see, though, that it's not that they said it's going to be for an after party.
Mary
I am hearing all different things. I've also heard Ventana and Big Sur. That actually makes sense because it's pretty challenging to get there. I can imagine that would be good. It's one. One road in type of situation. No, not once.
Courtney
Nobody lives there. It would shut down the whole entire place.
Mary
No, they rented out Ventana, the whole
Courtney
property, Big Sur itself, because of how hard it is to get through there. I'd be annoyed if I were other people.
Mary
I'm sure they're going to make it very easy for their guests to get there.
Courtney
No, I'm not talking. Yes, I'm talking about you and me. If I was coming to drive to you, I'd have to go through there. Well, okay, guys, this is obviously, we're going everywhere today.
Mary
I saw this TikTok and this girl, she was staying at Ventana and they're like, I'm sorry. We actually had a buyout for that weekend. It's this weekend coming up. And they gave her like 40,000 extra points, like all these things. And then I was just like, that would be a very clever place for them to have it. They could definitely secure the property. And it's on the ocean. It's absolutely gorgeous. She lost her virginity to Jake Gyllenhaal across the street at Post Ranch Inn.
Courtney
What?
Mary
Have you never heard that? Have you never heard that?
Courtney
Oh, I'm sorry. I don't know about Taylor Swift's virginity.
Mary
I heard that she lost it at Post Ranch in To Jake Gyllenhaal.
Courtney
Was he wearing the red scarf?
Mary
I tell everyone that.
Courtney
Is that not the. I. I'm gonna be honest. Never knew that detail. Didn't think I'd ever need to. Didn't think that was something that I needed to keep in the back of my mind for a fun party trick and an icebreaker.
Mary
I go to post range in once a year for a lunch, and I always tell that story every single time to, like, my sisters that go with you every year, we always talk about it. Oh, the lunch is great.
Courtney
So you think that she's like, okay, this. This place is a big moment for me in my life. Let's rent across the street. Why do you think that she's going there? Just because there was a buyout.
Mary
That's. That's the only reason why.
Courtney
So it couldn't be for anybody else.
Mary
It definitely could be.
Courtney
Okay. I thought there was, like, an inkling. It's just because there's a buyout for this weekend.
Mary
Yeah.
Courtney
Okay. So back to Atlanta.
Mary
Well, this was a filler episode.
Courtney
We're filling this episode with fun facts for everyone.
Mary
Let's talk about Kelly and Johnny, the financial planner. Kelly is just giving me casita vibes. Also, stay at Shamia's house as long as you can. Why is your realtor pretending to take you somewhere that you can't Afford? Your budget's 4,000. This is 7,000 thousand. Almost double the budget. And then, oh, but I want to buy my dream home next year. Kelly, live at Shamia's house for a year. Don't pay any rent. Save your money, get your finances together, and stop dying. Your dog, Cha Cha.
Courtney
Okay, when she goes into that house and the Realtor said it's 7K, she's like, okay, 4K. She goes, you think I can afford it? And I'm like, do you not know basic arithmetic? That is $3,000 over your butt.
Mary
It.
Courtney
What are you talking about? And then when she's talking to the financial planner and they start going through the list, I was, like, dumbfounded. Like, okay, so Nana's the one location making 75k a month. So that's $980,000 a year. Is that what she's profiting, or is that without taking all the costs? Like, what is that price?
Mary
I would say that's not the profit.
Courtney
Yeah, that's crazy. So then Sandy springs is making 15k a month, which to me, doesn't feel like a lot. I feel like overhead is costing a lot. Is 15K enough?
Mary
She's. She's losing money on Sandy Springs.
Courtney
Then they start going through your budget. You're paying $2,000 a month for your car. That's effing insane. Get a minivan.
Mary
I was going to say go get a Honda Pilot.
Courtney
Okay? Then you're telling me that insurance on that car is $600. You're paying $2,600, and your budget for a house is 4,000. Live in your car at this point, I. It's like, then it costs for her beauty, $2,500. Her hair, $3,000. He says, how much are you spending on clothes? She says, let's just say 8,500. And that white T shirt she's wearing in the confessional is $650. Mary.
Mary
The Tom Ford.
Courtney
It's like, that's a Hanes Hanes. You're sitting in a Hanes long shirt, okay? She's spending 22,000amonth. And I think that's on the low end because she's not sharing at all.
Mary
Right? I mean, basically, she needs to go through, start selling her purses. She needs to downsize majorly. I've never been a person that lived beyond my means, so I don't understand this. You know, I used to be a teacher. Like, you just, like, learned how to be frugal. And in your classroom, your personal life. Most teachers have two jobs. So this is, like, wild to me. I'm like, you need a car. You have kids. You need a car. But, yeah, we can go get the Honda, you know, and a Honda's a great car.
Courtney
Yeah, we're not knocking Hondas, by the way.
Mary
I had two Hondas. I had a white Honda Accord and
Courtney
a green Honda Accord.
Mary
That V6, it had a pump. It was zoomy because it was V6.
Courtney
Fast and Furious over here. Watch out, Vin Diesel. Here comes Mary Mahoney. Want a race? We'll race for papers. But with Kelly, I was like, kelly, you're the problem here. Because then she's talking about when she was in her marriage, she never had to worry about money. So I'm like, okay, what I'm taking from this is that her ex husband did all the bills, did all the finances. Kelly was none the wiser. She's learning the hard way now, and she's trying to keep up with the show, which is what we've been saying week after week, right? You're spending all of this money. The dog doesn't need wigs. $500 a month for dog wigs. Leave the dog alone. Let the dog be a dog. Okay. It's like all of these things you're spending your money on, and then you're going to wear that latex outfit and not pay somebody to rub it down so there's not fingerprints all over it in that confessional. I could not look away from it.
Mary
Oh, I need to notice that.
Advertisement Voice
Okay.
Mary
Oh, my God.
Courtney
Fingerprints everywhere. Like this skirt. Fine. But the fingerprints are obviously cuz, like, you're, like. Right.
Mary
Yeah.
Courtney
I mean, from watching Erica Jane, we put baby oil, right? We wipe it down so that it's nice and shiny.
Mary
Oh, okay. I really need to look at the next confessional.
Courtney
Yeah. So I just was like, kelly, this is actually making me sad for you. We haven't even talked about what are you paying for food.
Mary
Right.
Courtney
Do these prices include prices for your children, too? Like, is this just your spending on you? We're putting our money in places we don't need it to be. But you're also trying to keep up with the show.
Mary
Oh, it's just kind of a tale as old as time with these housewives. And it's honestly embarrassing.
Courtney
I would say I'm rooting for her, weirdly, except that she's making it hard. And I think what's making me sad is, like, you mentioned this, right? Gina, when we saw her in her casita, we literally saw her get divorced. She got this dui, and then she's really dug herself out, and we've watched her kind of hit rock bottom and then go back up again. And Kelly is really reminding me of this, where I'm like, I'm rooting for you, but I need you to make good decisions. And so you're sitting with the financial planner, and then you're going to look for a house that's completely out of your means. It's telling me that you're not helping yourself.
Mary
Right. She calls it a reset, and she says it's very uncomfortable, but she needs to make some sacrifices. I just hope that we actually see the sacrifice.
Courtney
Yeah, well, and I like what she said, too, because I think she was talking about the restaurants or whatever, and she's like, you know, maybe my purpose isn't to run these businesses, but maybe my purpose is to show how you start your life over. And.
Mary
Which I love that.
Courtney
And I agree. But I'm like, kelly, please, though. Like, I want the best for you. I really do, but you're making it hard.
Mary
Completely.
Courtney
I know, I know. Should we take a break and come back?

Okay, let's talk about the Angela Amari situation. This was a little bit tough. I feel like we got a little snippet of it last week with the brother finding out that Angela's children don't know that Amari is married. And Amari doesn't feel comfortable right now to share that with them yet. And Angela feels like the kids are going to be blindsided and is kind of pushing Amari to share that.
Courtney
That.
Mary
And Amari in her confessional says maybe in a couple of years. But this is definitely kind of an uncomfortable dynamic.
Courtney
They're not saying everything in the conversation for the viewer, so we're kind of left to try to like, finish the sentence, finish the thought. Is she not comfortable coming out to her family? They know her. This is her best friend. Her brother is in the stairway listening to this conversation. It's like, I'm sure they probably do know. They are getting older enough. Does Amari feel shame? I hope she doesn't. Is Angela being supportive? I hope so. And I just watched this being like, what's happening here? It's. It's a little strange to me. And then they get on with Dr.
Mary
Wendy with a dirty martini and a glass of wine.
Courtney
And now I've never met a doctor that says, please drink in our session, you know, know. And each their own.
Mary
The computer was also missing, like the delete button. There was a couple of buttons missing.
Courtney
This was a really. Wait, this is a really old computer. It's so funny you say this because I was looking at the shape of it and I'm like, oh, this is like Angela's computer that she never touches. It's like a 10 year old computer. She opens it like she's probably. She's like, do you guys still have Skype? That's the only app I have on this computer.
Mary
And no, but it was sad when they were talking about it's been really hard on their relationship, losing the grandmother because she was kind of their mediator. It also feels like Amari is an adult, but sometimes she wants to be treated like a kid. And then Angela is calling her spoiled it. It feels like they really are not on the same page with a lot of things. And. And Angela claims that she is entitled as well. So I think they're kind of in this tough place where Amari does feel like an adult, but at the same time wants support from her mother and can decide when she wants to share that information with the siblings. It's a weird, tricky situation.
Courtney
Well, it's weird because, yeah, Amari wants support from her mother, and her mother's like, I am supporting you. That's the thing. I want you to live your life. And it feels, maybe it's almost like you're closing off your life by not sharing this with the family, which then feels like there's kind of an elephant in the room when you come over. And we're not allowed to celebrate you as this adult living your adult life with your partner, who you just want people to know is your roommate. And I don't want to push you to do what it is, but at the same time, like, you can't be the kid and an adult, but, yes, you can. We should always be our parents, kids. And Amari also says too is like, you know, every time I come over, I don't get to talk about me. I'm dealing with you and your problems. And I don't know if that's in reference to Angela's mom passing away or whatever.
Mary
It is very curious where this will land in the end. Is she going to tell the kids? I hope that she feels comfortable enough to share this.
Courtney
Pour another drink. Call Wendy next week. Let her help you guys get through this.
Mary
Okay, let's talk about k. Michelle having
Courtney
15 surgeries and wanting to continue to put things in her butt.
Mary
It's crazy.
Courtney
Body dysmorphia is crazy, right?
Mary
And she's in chronic pain.
Courtney
Well, you sit on it a lot.
Mary
When the doctor says, yeah, you have to stay off your butt. Like, that feels really hard.
Courtney
How do you drive a car?
Mary
But I really hope she doesn't get any more surgeries. I mean, silicone just, like, floating in her body. I'd be curious when this first surgery was.
Courtney
It's just also, like, what do you mean you want to put more stuff in? You've got silicone floating around. Like, this is scary. And you're thinking about, like, your next enhancement. And that made me really sad. And I thought maybe you and Shamia could get a two for one deal for therapy. Therapy. Well, it's just because your next question is like, okay, cool. I'm gonna get my 16th ass surgery. But also I'd like to make it bigger or better or lifted or whatever it is that you're wanting to do. Like, that's crazy to me. That makes me sad for her because, like, oh, you're gonna do safer products.
Mary
No, no, please do not do it.
Courtney
Don't do it. Don't do it.
Mary
Okay.
Courtney
Portia and her mom had a good Portia, she's selling the house. It's bland. There's no more Ms. Diane. I love when they put the music, when they, like, freeze it on her to be the portrait. Portia, she has such a different energy this season, which I think is just. She's further along in this divorce and has come out on top from it. And so it's different than last season. But I love when she was like, I am focused on me.
Mary
I also feel like she realizes this is an ensemble cast past, and I feel like she really hasn't been giving the Shamia fight a lot of attention because she wants to dim it. Because I think she realizes the audience doesn't really want that. And what has happened is, like, Shamia now has made it seem like she's getting ganged up on and Shamia just looks bad and Portia's coming out on top. When I originally was on Shamia's side,
Courtney
Portia was defending Shamia at the end of this episode, which I think this is crazy. I think at the end of the day too, is like Porsha last season going through the divorce. Kind of like how Shamia is this season because she's dealing with the surrogacy, she's dealing with her marriage, she's dealing with her mom. She's dealing with all these different things. And so her energy is just totally different than it was. But I want Shamia to, like, find her way here because she really does crack me up when she does these little confessionals. She's funny, right?
Mary
They need this trip right now. I didn't like how they came together at the end of Basketball. I thought it was just kind of lame. Even the way they were circled up, like, facing the cameras. I was like, this is only too put upon. I'm excited for them to go to Scotland to be trapped in a house together.
Courtney
Nothing better than being trapped in the house. I also love too, how it's like this is now the Second Housewives that has leaned into Traders. We had it on Orange county when Teddy came and to Vicki, and she don't like that. But now we're. We're actually going to Scotland.
Mary
Yes.
Courtney
I think it's going to be really fun because it looks dramatic too, which I'm like, yes. I love when they're all on A House in a Different country and they just go shining style.
Mary
Totally feels.
Courtney
Here's Angela. Peekaboo.
Mary
Angela, I felt like, looked bad this episode because she was calling out Shamia, and Shamia's like, well, you came for my marriage. You said I was hooking up with Hawks players. And Angela, I never came for your marriage. I was like, angela, come on, come on.
Courtney
You both were going at each other at that non lunch lunch. It also was, like, such a fun, silly day. And then Angela had to turn it into something to, like, get some sort of drama. And it just felt like you ruined the vibes. They were having so much fun. Can we go over the team names?
Mary
So Angela's was Team Fangie. Guess what, guys? They end up winning the entire thing because there was legit NBA players on her team.
Courtney
Charles called in some favors.
Mary
Yeah, okay.
Courtney
When she fell, though, in the game, she falls over right away and she's on the ground and they go to this confessional with Charles and Angela, and he's like, I mean, if you felt like I would have helped you, like, if you were longer than 30 second. And she was like, I was longer than 30 seconds. He's like, you know, I would have been your Superman or whatever. He goes, well, I didn't have my cape. Then when they win, she's like, I did this for you because you've never won a championship game.
Mary
And then he asks for a kiss, and she's like, no.
Advertisement Voice
When?
Mary
Meanwhile, the season prior, all she wanted was a kiss on camera. Their relationship is funny.
Courtney
I like them. I don't think that they're like, to the. The Adrian and Paul Nassif, like, Maloof hatred. They're not the Bickersons yet. They're the Bantersons.
Mary
I like that. Yeah, I like that. Okay, next we had Portia's team, which is team go naked. And she basically just brought Mike. Also this episode, she offered Drew a wig line. And Drew says, contact my people. I'm like, drew, you should be jumping on this.
Courtney
This. But no, I agree, though, in this, because she doesn't want it to just be a favor she's doing. She already got in trouble for that last season. And I think Portia also was like, yeah, I'm gonna do it the proper way.
Mary
I feel like her new agent is gonna end up backstabbing her or something because they keep on bringing up the agent in a Lot of different portals. We've heard about this new agent multiple times. So I'm like, why do we keep on talking about this new agent? Agent? And then we had that whole scene with her new team. There's. I. Don't you think something's brewing there?
Courtney
I hope not. Maybe because we're getting a spin off instead.
Mary
Maybe.
Courtney
Yeah. I'm hoping.
Mary
Yeah.
Courtney
I don't want Drew to get screwed over. She has been screwed over so many times. I do not want to see a TMZ article about her divorce, her marriage, her team. Like, I feel like Drew is so trusting of people and a little naive and a little gullible that I do worry about her, and I don't want anyone to keep taking advantage of her. I need her to come out on top.
Mary
Okay. Pinky's team was called Team Chatty Patty. And she brings a lot of Derek's friends, and Charles asks them if they are trying out to be Bears players.
Courtney
At one point. At one point, Pinky says, like, what's our safe word? Or whatever? And. And the guy just goes, help.
Mary
So Phaedra's team is called the Godfather. Next, we have K. Michelle's blind opposition. She brings her husband. Then we have Kelly, who wore kitten heels and some socks.
Courtney
Babe, that was a stiletto.
Mary
That's your.
Courtney
That was a Louboutin stiletto. Cosplaying prostitution.
Mary
And hers is called Team Minion.
Courtney
I was like, okay, is this another play that they're trying to get us to watch? This Minions movie? We've got opinions, not Minions on In the City. We've got Team Minion. And then Kelly. I'm like, kelly, see, you're so bad with the reads. Because she's like, yeah, Angela wants my foot Size. Size Minion. And I was like, that's not a size.
Mary
Also, what is wrong with someone having an 11 and a half size foot? It's not that big of a deal. Deal. Let's stop talking about it. It's so bizarre. I know.
Courtney
Charles said, angela, if you had a size 6 or 7, you would fall over. Meaning it's proportional to her being tall.
Mary
Right.
Courtney
It's the talls and the smalls all over again.
Mary
And then Shamia's team is Team Sasquatch.
Courtney
Drew's. They didn't show it, but Drew's team was Team Dulu. Dulu. She didn't even play when they put up the bracket. Was just Dulu on the right side against nobody and didn't go anywhere.
Mary
Yeah. And then Cynthia had 50 Cent, and
Courtney
it came down to Fangie versus Sasquatch. And Angela won. And I just like two. Because they were like, we're actually not going to play this round.
Mary
Honestly, basketball, as an adult, I used to have to play the 8th graders and it was so how old? It is stressful in my 30s.
Courtney
Oh. Like, as a teacher, like the teachers versus the eighth grader.
Mary
Here was nothing scarier. I would always. Every single year, I'm like, can we not play basketball? Can we play kickball? Like, basketball is such a physical Sport and those 8th grade boys, they go for it. I was like, someone genuinely going to get hurt.
Courtney
And they did. When we would do off sites, they would play basketball. And I'd never volunteered because I'm like, this is embarrassing to me.
Mary
Dangerous and.
Courtney
And I'm not kidding. There would be at least one injury. One time. The ambulance had to be called. Oh, yeah. I was like, guys, I mean, this is insane. This is insane.
Mary
Jason on the valley.
Courtney
Oh, my patella.
Mary
It's dangerous.
Courtney
It really is so dangerous.
Mary
Yeah. Yeah. Wow. But yeah, I didn't really like this ending between Angela and Shamia and I ended up feeling bad for Shamia because I feel like she was really attacked
Courtney
act and it came out of nowhere too. It was like, we had a fun day. We're wrapping this up. Angela, you're starting something. Then you're saying, like, Shami is a lap dog. And then Drew's getting involved. And then Pinky asks if Shamia and K. Michelle are okay and k. Michelle isn't going to like, lean into this because she's like, no, Pinky. If you're my friend, like, you one on one, ask Shamia that because she's like, no, Pinky, you, me, Shamia and Kelly are still in alliance. We cannot crumble over the others right now. Like, you can't do that. And I did feel bad for sh because it came just came out of nowhere. Not that she hasn't been kind of talking all season.
Mary
Right.
Courtney
And laying the foundation, but she didn't have her bearings at this place and it felt a little ambushy.
Mary
Yeah. I ended up feeling bad for Shamia in this moment. And I really hope that in Scotland they can let their hair down, have fun and come together together as a group because it just feels like a lot of little different fights. And it. Once again, it works best when they can all have fun together.
Courtney
I do worry that they will all be dressed in kilts or plaid or Scottish wear. And the question of who do you trust the least will come up or they will vote somebody out trader style. And I do worry that Shamia is going to come as a whamwear on this trip. And it's like, please don't come as a whamwear. We gotta have have fun.
Mary
I agree with you.
Courtney
I agree. You know, like, we don't need any Eeyores. We don't need any Zoloft rocks. No wham whams. We come, like, smiling and bright.
Mary
Agreed. Agreed. One final thought. I just had to give Portia credit here because when she was talking to her mom and she's like, I am choosing myself. You know, sometimes I just want to go home. I want to pass some gas, I want to take off that wig, I want to eat a crab leg and go to bed. And that was hysterical.
Courtney
And I feel like Portia would eat the crab leg in bed.
Mary
I think that's what she was alluding to.
Courtney
Like a nice TV tray she's gonna put on like Traders or Housewives or like Love island or something. And she's cracking that crab leg on top of that TV tray.
Mary
Courtney, you just painted that picture so vivid in my head. And on that note, I'd like to go.
Courtney
All right, see you tomorrow.
Mary
