It's Courtney from LA and we are discussing the season 20 premiere of Real Housewives of Orange County.

Overall, I really loved this episode because I like how much they focused on Vicki and I really missed her. I cannot believe we were on that carpet.

[Jen]

That was insane.

[Mary]

I'm still on a high off of that.

[Courtney]

I I hope you never come off of that high. I thought this felt lighter and as you said last week at the event, they had said this will be lighter. It won't feel as dark as previous seasons. I did feel that in this episode it's interesting the dynamics and where people are and the alliances and I think it's going to be a really tough season for Carmela, even though the cast seems to like her because I just don't know how you come in as a 20th season brand new housewife. I think that's really hard. And then also to make a statement and then you're also going to go after Vicky or there's seemingly tension there and I don't know if that's gonna work out in her favor.

[Mary]

I don't think so at all. I'm already predicting her to be one hit wonder, but maybe I'll be wrong.

[Courtney]

Yeah, as I was rewatching it, I wish that Katie and the cast could have found a way to move forward because I do feel like she was missing a little bit and I think she would have bonded with the new housewife. There could have been something there, but at that point it's just been too far gone. So did you miss her at all in this episode?

[Mary]

Absolutely not.

[Courtney]

You were just moving on fresh.

[Mary]

I didn't even notice she wasn't there.

[Courtney]

Yeah, they have a good job of focusing on the Trace Amigas I think that's always going to be this central storyline. And I keep thinking about what you were talking about last week, where you're like, I wonder how much Heather has a problem with the three of them always being central and her right there on the outside never seemingly able to break down that barrier to get in with them. But I think they're going to be the main focus. Everyone on OC always kind of feels like a B subplot. Emily and Gina will never be at the forefront. You know, Heather sometimes could be, but it really is the Tamara Shannon show for the most part. And then now with Vicki added back

[Mary]

in, well, I think the Bravo fandom is excited for the Trace Amigas to come back together. And I believe in real time they are in a good place. So I am looking forward to them repairing their friendship. I'm also very interested in Heather and her mother dynamics. That was fascinating to me and I feel like we're going to get a lot of nostalgia. Like we said, the sky tops are coming back. Even we started this out and we're not even in Orange County. We are in Puerto Vallarta. You know, it just felt like nostalgia to me and it felt like the gang is back together and we're going to have some fun and we need that. Yeah.

[Courtney]

There was a lot of pressure for this season to be good, and I think that they really did have a good, strong premiere.

[Jen]

And I think too, it's like behind the scenes. I'm sure production said, like, you guys cannot have a dark season.

[Courtney]

This has to be good. Your jobs really are on the line well.

[Mary]

And Tamara understands the assignment. She knows. And I think she takes in that information at the end and doesn't explode because she knows. I need to take a minute to think and reflect on how I want to react to this because what I've been doing this last season didn't really work. So I need to figure out what my plan of attack is with this information.

[Courtney]

Except we get a little tidbit about Rehgut celebration at the Quiet Woman where seemingly she didn't reflect well.

[Mary]

I'm also wondering, are we going to see that footage? It makes me think that this happened after cameras were down when there was a lot of liquor flowing. That's what I think happened because I

[Jen]

don't know if they would have gone

[Mary]

into as much detail if they were saving that for Ultimate Girls Trip. What do you think?

[Courtney]

I think they're going to play it on Ultimate Girls Trip. I think on Ultimate Girls Trip, it sounds like each Stop. They go to is whatever housewife lives there that they get to be involved in the drama. And the main cast is kind of onlookers at this point.

[Mary]

You are right, because wasn't Tamra not invited to Bluestone Manor at the end? She got disinvited. Didn't that happen? That sounds.

[Courtney]

That sounds right. Or there was some rumor towards that. So, yeah, I think we'll be seeing it on Ultimate Girl Ship.

[Jen]

I think it'll also maybe bleed into this.

[Courtney]

I don't know why they wouldn't use similar footage, because I think it also propels what's going on with this relationship and the details of it, and we need that in order to go towards the resolution. It is funny, though, because Vicky, who actually.

[Jen]

This was, like, crazy, because when we

[Courtney]

were talking to her on the carpet, she was mentioning, life is short and we've got to, like, move on. And then she talks about how she got sepsis and it went to her brain. And when she came out of it, she just was like, I have to not be fighting with people. I'm appreciating life. And so she has a different outlook. I don't know how long that will stay, because I think Vicki is still Vicki, but I do see that she's trying to be a changed woman.

[Mary]

Yes. I'm. I'm very afraid for her relationship just because I think it's hard to be in a relationship on these shows. I spoke with her boyfriend at the party, and he seemed lovely. He did.

[Courtney]

You and Michael had a moment.

[Mary]

I was like, you're in for a ride, buddy. And he's like, I have no idea what's going on. He just seemed like a very

[Courtney]

normal person.

[Mary]

Totally. I. I was gonna say simple, but he was very sweet and charming, but just. He was there for Vicky and that was it. He has no. He's not a Brooks. Okay.

[Jen]

I mean, thank God.

[Courtney]

We don't need anyone faking cancer.

[Mary]

Like, honestly, when they were doing these flashbacks, the. Dawn.

[Jen]

Dawn.

[Mary]

Oh, it just hurts my heart. I need an update on Dawn.

[Jen]

I think he's doing well.

[Courtney]

No news is good news on the dawn front.

[Mary]

That's true. But, God, I just would love a little.

[Jen]

A little.

[Mary]

Just. Can we talk about him or. I just.

[Courtney]

I need.

[Mary]

I need him. I'm just concerned.

[Courtney]

Well, I like her relationship with Michael.

[Jen]

They've been together for four years.

[Courtney]

She joked on the panel that she was like, this is it. Because if he leaves me, I'd find you, like, Wedding Crasher style.

[Jen]

You know what?

[Courtney]

He was there for It.

[Jen]

He giggled, he laughed. He was there for it. So it seems like they're a good match. I do think Vicki is somewhat in a different headspace.

[Courtney]

I hope that she continues and doesn't let this show get the best of her how it has previously.

[Jen]

But I also think that she's not looking for these things that she was

[Courtney]

15 years ago, 10 years ago, 20 years ago, even, like, her love tank has been full.

[Jen]

And I think she's going to be okay.

[Mary]

I hope so. I hope so.

Yeah. Her and Shannon, what did we say? We're like, if there is not a scene with them in Puerto Vallarta where

[Jen]

they are just silly, clumsy girls falling over.

[Courtney]

And what do they give us in episode one? Within five minutes of this show, they

[Mary]

stumble in the sand together.

[Courtney]

Now, Vicki is still an asshole to me. I still find Vicki to be an asshole. And I understand it's for tv, whatever. I find most of these women to be assholes, but it is the show, so I guess they're technically our assholes. I don't know. There's so many parallels between Vicki and Ramona that I see when I watch Vicky. But there's something about her that I'm still an eye roll with when it comes to her. The way that she was, like, treating the men, were giving them foot massages,

[Jen]

and she said, we'll pay you later.

[Courtney]

I'm like, there she is. She's still there.

[Mary]

She thinks she is the mayor of Puerto Vallarta. She put Andalay on the map. She tried to become part owner. And they said, no, no, no, no, no, we're good.

[Jen]

We don't need you.

[Courtney]

And she's like, you know, I made you guys famous. And to be fair, when we went for your bachelorette party, we had to go to Andal.

[Mary]

It's a good time. I mean, the egg carton ceilings, they play the hits from 30 years ago. No, probably 40 years ago.

[Courtney]

Depends if Vicky's in town or not.

[Mary]

But there was also. Did you notice the chairs they were sitting on those Tommy Bahama chairs at the beach? Everyone over 50 owns those chairs. You get them at Costco, and it is a staple, I feel like, for Californians over 50 to have those Tommy Bahama chairs.

[Courtney]

I'll let my mom know. She does not own those.

[Mary]

She doesn't have them?

[Courtney]

No.

[Mary]

My parents can give them theirs. We got about seven.

[Courtney]

Good to know.

[Mary]

When you go to Tahoe, the entire beach is filled with these Tommy Bahama chairs.

[Courtney]

That's hilarious. There's nothing better than, you know, a

Flip chair at the beach, sitting in there.

[Courtney]

I would love to get a foot rub too, actually. I would. I don't want people touching my feet. But I like the idea that I

[Mary]

could see at the beach. Not ideal because you're sandy.

[Courtney]

Yeah. Shannon was like, there's sand on my feet. Are you sure?

I love that they kicked it off, just the two of them going on this fun trip together to get us reacquainted with Vicky, meet her, her boyfriend, see Billi. That was like, nostalgic for me, her. Her being like, billy, I saw you last night at a massage parlor at

[Jen]

1am what are you doing there?

[Courtney]

It's like Billy exposing him for one of those massages. Like, okay. There were a few moments this episode that I was like, I think we could have left that in the vault. But then Jen's comment about her daughter in tampons. I was like, why do we know this? We don't need to know this. That's crazy.

[Jen]

Leave those things in the vault.

[Mary]

I understand, I understand. But didn't like seeing Billi make you feel happy. Sure.

[Jen]

It's a nostalgia factor.

[Courtney]

I'm happy that Vicki is going to have her 20th season. I feel like that makes sense. She's the one who kicked it off. We're 20 years in. I get that. I don't think I have an attachment to her the way you do.

[Mary]

Oh, okay. Okay. I'm like, so about it. It just feels good.

It feels right. Look, don't let me get you out

of a zone of Vicki Lovin, okay? Like, that's for you to be.

I just, you know, for me, like, we're still blocked.

There's something about Shannon.

Shannon, to me, she's the heart of

the OC when she's like this, she's feeling lighter this season.

There's something just about her when she sees Vicki and Michael, I think she yearns for that. Like to see someone who is a quote unquote, simple man who just wants to be there for his partner. And she really likes Michael. And I really think Shannon would consider moving to Mexico the same way Vicki would. I could see if the place next door to Vicki opened Up. She would vanderpump that. You know, when like Jax and Brittany moved into Tom and Katie's, I think she would be completely open to doing that.

[Mary]

Do you think Shannon stayed with Vicki on this trip? Yeah. In the same condo. Yeah.

[Courtney]

I think Vicki's partner was like, you guys are going to be doing your filming the Dos Amigas. We got a whole crew down here. I think Vicki has recruited people to go down there.

[Mary]

Oh, I think they have friends that live there part of the year. Like she does. Well, she has her coto house. She has a PV place and the house in the desert.

[Courtney]

Yeah, go Vicky.

[Mary]

And she works 10 to 12 hours a day.

[Courtney]

That is the one thing I have always admired about Vicki is that she self made.

[Jen]

She works, she helped Lori season one.

[Courtney]

Now, she did not try to sell me life insurance the other day. And we should have asked her to pitch it to us.

[Mary]

We should have. And didn't dawn get spousal support from her? I believe so. I don't know.

[Courtney]

Well, I hope it works out with Michael. He seems like a very nice guy.

[Mary]

And the big thing this season is she's saying he has had a ring for a year. He just hasn't given it to me yet. And Carmela says, that guy does not have a ring.

[Courtney]

It is very Craig and page coded.

What do you think it is?

[Courtney]

Well, she was not wearing one at the carpet.

[Mary]

Neither was Emily.

[Courtney]

I think it could be metaphorical. Yeah, we've talked about it. We're going to. I honestly don't think Vicky is in a rush to get married anymore. I think she thought she needed to be previously with Brooks, with Steve, and she was really trying to find this. Now she's in a totally different place that I don't think marriage is on the table necessarily for her. Do I think she'd want the commitment of it? Yes, because I think she's old school in that way. But I think she's also happy where things are.

[Mary]

I think she wants that ring, though, just to wear. Of course. And a symbol of everlasting love. And for her to say, we're engaged, he's my life partner. It just solidifies things more for her. Okay. But I, to me, I'm like, it doesn't even make sense for her to get married. I mean, there'd be like a major prenup and they'd keep the things separate anyway. So what's the point?

[Courtney]

Them showing those in this premiere was actually insane. I felt bad for Tamara in that moment because, I don't know, they could have maybe done anything else.

She never had to post that, Mary. She never had to post that. She could have waited a day or two if she wanted to continue the argument and just let it settle. Maybe, or, I don't know, put like a red light mask on over it. Maybe just not even a video.

And then they're doing this, and it's a Valentine's Day party, which means we're in February, and we're just starting July now. So it's relatively quick turnaround. Whereas, for instance, we're watching Next Gen right now, and we're doing a Christmas party. So we're probably in, like, November, December, filming there, and we're just getting these episodes now. So it's just interesting the way that editing and producing and the whole thing works and how fast they can get

[Mary]

seasons out the timeline.

[Courtney]

And it should be faster. Take a tip from Love island, right?

Yeah. But so they're, like, talking about Gina's ring.

By the way, though, I have to say, everyone looks fantastic on this show this season too. But there is something about Gina. Talk about a hair journey.

She is giving me Barbie in the best way. You know, she had that line, when did I become Skipper Barbie? And she looks so good this season. I love her hair. I think she probably has a little bit of extensions, but even just the face frame layering that's there.

[Mary]

10 out of 10 completely agree. I think she looks fantastic. And I love how she is trying to bring the People together.

[Jen]

I think she's doing.

[Mary]

Doing a great job, because, you know, they're getting together. They haven't seen each other since the reunion, it feels like. And Tamara has been on Jeff Lewis,

which they won't say.

[Mary]

Jeff Lewis, they say a podcast, even though they show Jeff Lewis clips. And you have a theory.

[Courtney]

I think it's because Heather's mad at Jeff Lewis, because if you have those clips, you should be able to talk about it. I would assume so, but I feel like they have beef at this point. I have no idea if they've ever had beef, but she'll say that podcast. So is there something. And if so, can you explain?

[Mary]

They have had beef in the past. They are in a better place. They actually spoke at the party. I saw them together talking, so they're in a much better place. I'm not sure why she just keeps on saying the podcast.

[Courtney]

I also could see her being like, I'm not going to say his name and bring attention to him.

[Mary]

Yeah, no, no free PR here.

Exactly. Exactly. But Gina just asked Tamara, so are you here to burn it down?

[Mary]

I know. And Tamara, you can tell, she's like, no, no, no, no, no. That was a joke on Jeff's pod. It's not a big deal. And Heather's like, well, I don't want to be put in the same bucket as all these people. And Tamara's like, throwing vegetables. Like, what do you want to be, a cauliflower? You're not in the bucket. You want to be a carrot? You're not in the bucket.

[Courtney]

He actually ever threw any vegetables.

[Jen]

I think she just pointed to them at the crudite plate.

[Mary]

But you can tell. Tamara's like, I felt so alone after the reunion. I wasn't invited into that photo. And Heather's like, I only cared what I looked like in the photo. I didn't even know if you were in the photo. And then she's like, I invited you to dinner after. And Tamara's like, no, you didn't. She basically thinks that she wasn't invited to the dinner after. And at the dinner after, that is where Heather was talking major shit on Tamara to the group. And they all can't believe how much shit she talks about Tamara behind her back and not to her face.

[Jen]

What do you think she said, though?

[Mary]

I mean, everyone talks about each other, right?

[Jen]

Well, that's what I said. What do you think she said?

[Courtney]

Was she talking about, like, her poor reunion performance? Was she saying, tamara's not a good friend?

[Jen]

I'm trying to figure it out because to me, it doesn't seem like it

[Courtney]

was that crazy of talking. Except for the fact that Jen was surprised that Heather was talking.

[Jen]

I didn't think that Gina felt like

[Courtney]

it was as strong as how Jen presented it.

[Mary]

I know. It's almost like Jen's leaning in for that as a storyline for herself. Jem's just like, not all there, so we can't really trust her opinion. And she's a flip flopper and she kind of lies, so you can't really trust what she says.

[Courtney]

She does lie justice. She's not credible.

[Mary]

Yeah.

[Jen]

So they're gonna move on.

[Courtney]

But they bring up the quiet woman. They bring up that Shannon calls Tamara drunk. I could also see Shannon getting so embarrassed because she's trying to make a good impression against all the rest of these women. We're celebrating 20 years.

[Jen]

We're gonna do an iconic like, that's not my plate, you.

[Courtney]

And then Tamara doesn't like that Shannon's getting the attention. And she's like, well, we better give him something to talk about. And so she starts going after Shannon. And I can see Shannon's face, like, just her hand up, like, straight up,

[Jen]

and be like, what is going on here?

[Courtney]

Freaking out. And then it just continually going. And Tamara having one too many drinks because she forgot to eat that day. And it escalates so badly that it's actually just more embarrassing for Shannon. It's not like she's, like, mad about this fight. She's embarrassed that Tamara did this in front of all the other women.

[Mary]

And I feel like Tamara will look like the villain here and the bad guy. And I am completely on your side. She definitely drank too much. She says in this fight, Shannon, you're a mess. You can't get a. And you don't even own a house. Things I would never be able to forgive someone about because those are Tamara's true feelings.

[Courtney]

I also wonder, like, Shannon's renting a 10.5k a month house in Corona del Mar. I love it. She's basically right off of pch. I love Corona del Mar. She's close to the quiet woman, so she can walk.

[Mary]

Thank God.

She's by the places she needs to be.

She's got Archie and Troy. RIP Archie at the panel. She was talking about it. We have a clip with. Could probably post that.

like, the love for Archie and all these things that she got to do

with Archie for Housewives and how really special he was.

And when he passed away, people were coming to her house and giving her cards, like condolence cards for Archie. She was very sweet talking about it, and she didn't even tear up. I feel like she was just like, he is in a better place now. And I add, had over a decade with him, and I just. I loved him. And now she's got Troy that eats passports.

Troy is a handful. And baccarat butterflies, that Troy. She's like, I got Archie. What a good boy. Then she said, troy, he's testing me.

[Jen]

He's testing me. I got a puppuccino. And of course, I'm Shannon with two leashes. And I don't know how to walk these dogs. They walk me and. Oh, God, no, not the puppuccino on the floor. Don't eat it, Troy. You're gonna get germs.

[Mary]

Okay. Eat it.

[Jen]

I just know Troy is a menace

[Courtney]

and gives her a run for her money every single day. But she needs it.

[Mary]

Exhausting.

[Jen]

She needs it. I think Troy, like, keeps her young, you know?

[Mary]

Yes. But it will be very interesting how Tamara and Shannon come back together, because I believe in real time, they are in a good place. But I felt like Tamara felt very awkward here. She seemed nervous. She was drinking the champagne nervously. And she's like, well, Shannon and I do have a problem. I'm up to here with her.

[Courtney]

Well, I think she knows that she made a fool of herself. And if it's true that she was disinvited to Bluestone, I think she's like, oh, shit. Like, I really did mess up. I went too far with making, quote, unquote, good tv, but I actually effed up. And so I think you're right. I am going to look like the villain in this. I am going to have to watch this back and see what happens. And then I'm going to have to hear it from the audience anyways. And then all of you were there, because the cast is there and you guys all saw it. So everyone's kind of like, Tamara, you effed up. You effed up big time. And so she's gonna have to have a slice of humble pie. She could have two whole thing, to be honest. One slice for each cast member. Okay, let's talk Jen and Emily, who seemingly are now BFFs because Emily is skinny. Well, Jen's like, I found out we

have so much more in common.

[Courtney]

And then they keep showing these clips, and it's just them continually at the gym working out together.

[Mary]

I will say they need to update Those inner stitchels of them.

[Jen]

It's the 20th year.

It does not look like a lot of them.

And now, yeah, that's been like the same interstitial for a couple of seasons now. They can change it up.

It's the 20th season. Come on, let's do it all.

Yeah. Emily looks fantastic. She's filling us in. He is still suffering. They saw the Pandas expert, they did the laser treatment, but not anything has super worked for them. Transitioning him to a new school has helped. It feels like that's probably like a daily situation.

[Courtney]

And she said, you know, when I was going through all that, I lost myself, I gained more weight and finally I'm putting focus on myself.

[Jen]

And she did this like a couple

[Courtney]

of seasons ago too. Remember, she kind of fixates on this and this becomes her quote unquote addiction, if you will. And she's using the gym for therapy

[Jen]

and she feels better and lighter. And I noticed she's wearing less of

[Courtney]

the eyelashes this season too. Her eyes are more wide open now.

[Jen]

But her and Jen, they are bonding. They've moved forward. When Emily said, hey, maybe instead of

[Courtney]

wearing Rolexes, you could sell those and pay your bills.

[Jen]

Now Jen maybe seemingly has more of

[Courtney]

a grasp on her finances. I'm honestly unclear if that's true or not or if Ryan just handles more things.

[Mary]

So I feel like all the women were alluding to Ryan and Jen will never get married. And I believe it's because of Jen's finances probably being in such a disarray. And he probably just doesn't want to put that on paper to be responsible for anything. So maybe they'll be life partners. But I don't think they're going down the aisle.

[Courtney]

Well, I do wonder too if they'll wait until the youngest turns 18 because I wonder too what child support is like when she has a husband maybe who makes more money. I don't know if that changes things when the lifestyle can be provided differently

[Jen]

or if he's like, oh, so when

[Courtney]

Grayson speeds at 105 miles per hour and then gets a $700 ticket, I don't want to pay that shit.

[Mary]

Yeah. So I would be making my child get a job and pay me.

[Jen]

Well, it sounds like he works at In N Out.

[Courtney]

Possibly that.

[Jen]

Yeah. But she's giving us an update. Just sounds like she's got a lot

[Courtney]

going on at the panel. They had done a clip for all of the women their first season. The introduction of and it was Jen had five kids and it was Dawson's and the Marines. Harrison's moved. And then Grayson is really into God. Oh, she had five chickens. She has like 40 cats. It was like a farm.

[Mary]

Okay.

[Courtney]

And I just remember thinking like, God, her life was like, so crazy. And she's going through this divorce too.

[Mary]

Right. Wait, that also made me think, do you know Sutton's son is becoming a priest?

[Jen]

I heard that.

[Mary]

Yeah. I thought that was super interesting.

[Courtney]

What's the process for that? That seems like a lot.

[Mary]

It takes seven years to become a priest. Wow.

[Courtney]

So at Jen and Emily's meetup where Emily orders a bowl of chicken. That's why she looks like that. Jen says. And also a margarita.

[Mary]

Yeah, I mean, come on.

[Courtney]

But she says that she leans into Heather a lot now too, which is funny because she really has this one sided beef with Heather. And it looks like this hits ahead again this season.

[Mary]

Wait, who has the one side to beef with Emily?

[Courtney]

Every season, Emily has some random beef with Heather.

Like the whole clothing thing. The one season.

And she just thinks Heather doesn't respect her. There's always something with Emily being mad at Heather. But then she's like, well, I really lean on Heather for parenting advice. So they have these off seasons where they're like, okay, you know, maybe we're all against Tamara right now, so then we're all bonding because of this.

But then something happens and I feel

[Courtney]

like she reverts back and gets mad at Heather again.

[Mary]

Oh, okay. I wonder, because it feels like they're all just trying to go after Tamara again. In some ways, Emily should have big beef with Tamara at this point with that whole podcast situation.

[Jen]

She can't. She's still under her network.

[Mary]

Actually, I'm surprised that Heather and Terri haven't started their own podcast network.

[Courtney]

Do they not have their own. No, they.

[Mary]

I mean, they do a podcast, but it's not their. Their own network.

[Courtney]

Jen wants to bring up that Heather was talking shit on Tamara, but she puts Tamara in a box. Okay. And so she's saying, as historical friends, they have this relationship and it goes so far back, but she also talks shit. But then she always forgives Tamara. It's like, guys do not see the long play. I think Heather is friendly with Tamara, and I think that they understand from a production standpoint why it's important to have these relationships and these quote unquote friendships. I don't think Heather and Tamara are friends, friends, friends that they're hanging out. I think they're co worker friends. I think they understand how to produce because Heather was an actress. If you guys don't remember? She will never remind us that. But she's an actress. She understands what makes good tv. But she also knows she never wants to be on the bad side of Tamara. She never wants to be Tamara's target for.

Which is why she lets Shannon take it every year.

[Mary]

They're historical friends. She puts that friendship in a box. They've been friends for over a decade, and she keeps her at a distance. That's fine by me.

So then we go to Tamara's house. Sophia and her, they've started their own podcast. Sophia's got a lot to say. Tamara at the event was like, can you believe it?

I'm like, it feels kind of like mother, like daughter.

I'm sure it's cute. I think that would actually be a great podcast for people that have someone in their 20s in their home.

Well, she doesn't live there anymore because she's moving out. Mary.

I was so upset to hear this entire fake music school story. Oh, I feel like they admitted, well, that was just a storyline for last

year, but now she does need to leave. Here's a taser.

I think it's been in our subconscious of how we've called Emily Farrell all of these seasons, because in her first season, she is calling Annabelle Farrell girl.

I did laugh that Travis is wearing the gated group T shirt. They want to do the marketing. The branding. But they seem in a very good place. It seems like the business has been super successful. Travis has full custody of the kids right now. That. That feels kind of wild. I love that the kids knew before Gina and they kept it a secret. It felt sweet. And I love her mother. And I thought they had an interesting conversation about taking Travis's name. What did you think?

This, like, made me mad.

Oh, you're mad at Travis.

I'm mad at Travis. Also, they were wearing the gated group all last season, too. And something that made me laugh was because I think we didn't. We look up, like, last season, that they had made, like, $10 million in sales or something, which we're like, okay, so they sold five houses. And honestly, this is just, like, a silly thing, but because. Congrats. Get your bag. I hope it all works out. Gina feels like she's in such a good place, but you know when someone's like, every year, we double what we made last year. And I'm like, well, if you sold two houses, so you sold four.

You know, like, it's funny when people

[Courtney]

use those kind of words as opposed to, like, we are $17 million more in sales or something. That was just a funny aside. But when it came to the last name, I was like, her reasoning for why she still has her last name completely makes sense to me. As she said all these up and downs, my kids were my constant.

I want the same last as my kid.

She's already changed her name once, which, as we know, is a pain in the ass to do.

Heather is out to make her mother look bad on camera. I'm actually shocked by this. I mean, out the gate, she's like, mom, you were never here. The kids are grown. It doesn't matter anymore. They are off.

Well, you can't, because they're busy.

I know, but it also felt like the mom didn't really care either, that Heather was calling her out on all this.

I mean, we're talking about Adam Sandler coming to the beach in New York. That's why she wouldn't change anything that happened, because she once summered near Adam Sandler.

Know rich people have feelings too. They do, but they can also pay

to get rid of those feelings.

Like, what were we gonna do? Like, fly across the country? And I'm like, yeah, you could have, like, probably had two nannies to do that and flown first class. I'm just like, thinking of all these things. I'm like, their life is very different than mine and yours.

And I also understand, dude, from Heather's perspective is that she, you know, in a perfect world, her parents would have moved their lives because they wanted to be closer to family. But they're like, we have our lives.

And when you became an actress and then you met Terry, you decided to move to la. And we can't always be following our kids.

[Courtney]

Sometimes you have to watch them from

[Jen]

afar and you have to decide that. And at this point too, it's like,

[Courtney]

woulda, coulda, shoulda, right? She's in la now. She's 84. She's close by. She's gonna go to the Beverly Hills Bridge Club.

She's gonna make her life for herself there. I'd have to think the older you get too, the harder it is to pick up and move because you're in routines, you know your people, you've created these lives. So she's here now.

[Courtney]

I am very curious about this story, the rest of the season, how much we will see of the mother. It. It's an interesting story to me. I'm excited for it.

I think she's gonna be fun to watch.

Yes. And also what I love about Heather, as we talked about with being so rich, is the fact that she's so rich. I also wonder too, if this season she's not even pretending to stay at the Balboa Bay. Club anymore.

I'm on an OC show. I do have to commute back and forth. I'll throw my 75,000 DOL parties in orange County. I'll still go to the locations. It's just gonna take me longer to get there.

I mean, how crazy are these parties? She basically decided to throw a kickoff to the season party.

Hearts and heels.

[Mary]

Right there is a perfume bar. You can get a tattoo, there's merch, you can go fishing for diamonds. Of course, we've got to have a photo booth, a bounce house, a heartbeat, an ice luge. Not lube. I mean, she's just so over the top. And she has to have Nikki as her masters of ceremonies.

[Jen]

I was like, are you trying to put next gen LA on us?

[Courtney]

I'm here for it.

[Jen]

Yeah, I want a next gen la. But I thought it was kind of like, let's put Nikki on camera to

show how charismatic he is. Or as we learned last week, he has Rizzo. The kids are saying that, you know.

[Mary]

But she's like, see, he could be on camera talent. He's good. He worked in hospitality also.

It was grapeseed oil. She said, okay. And then when I looked up. Why would you shoot in grapeseed oil? So injecting grapeseed oil typically serves as a pharmaceutical carrier oil for medications that are not water soluble, such as hormone therapies. So it's basically going to help her body absorb it more.

Oh, okay. Yes.

So I know I did look it up. That's funny. I'm glad you mentioned that, because I was like, grape seed oil. And my favorite thing about these women, too, is that for anything that's going to help them, they don't know what these things are.

And they're like, just put it in a syringe. I'll shoot myself up. No big deal. I Hope it works.

How disgusting to think she was a model with sushi on her body and that people would eat it off of her. Like, why would anyone want to do that?

I have to tell Michael. Oh, she's was a former playmate and she lived in the bunny house. Never slept with Hef. The more I think about Hugh Hefner, it's so disturbing.

She doesn't like a new girl. The only new girl Vicki has ever taken to is Shannon, which is crazy. Coming in to start the drama with Vicki isn't the route that I would go. I think I would want to come

in as like, fun loving, like, oh, hey, Queen Victoria. Because the truth is, you need a

[Courtney]

storyline, but it's not to make enemies with Vicki. Because from Sonja Morgan to Cindy, Bar Shop a la Season four, there's a pecking order.

Vicki has come back.

She was literally given the orange on stage at BravoCon. She already has a wifetime achievement award.

[Jen]

She put put these franchises on the map. She is the OG of the OC she's the OG of the RH now,

there is a level of respect you

can give and be silly about it.

Like, oh, Queen Victoria.

But even when Shannon was trying to be funny, when she was like, oh,

And you could see that Carmel was.

And Shannon's like, I'm kidding, I'm kidding. And it's like, okay, this is going to be tough.

Yeah. I just. She does feel like it could just be a one season.

It feels that way to me.

And like I said, I think it's hard coming into a season 20 to

be a one season.

Because the focus isn't going to be on her. As you've mentioned, there's that nostalgia we want with these women. Gina and Emily are on their eighth season. Jen, this is her fourth season and she's the newest of the group at this point.

Like, Tamara's been there. What did you say? Is this like Tamara's 17th season?

[Jen]

Maybe?

[Courtney]

She came in in three and then left for a season. So maybe it's her 16th, whatever. It's like Vicki's been there. These women have almost double digits of being here. That they're the focus, the nostalgia is to have this 20th season, that it's going to be a celebration every week in a way, completely.

[Mary]

And I love how Heather confronted Vicki about the inherited money situation. I thought they did this well because Heather's like, I'm not gonna let you say that we inherited from what our parents are still alive. And when Vicki's like, well, the brother. And then Heather saying, well, obviously Terry's parents got that money and them just screaming over each other. It was very camp. It was over the top. They're going to be able to move forward from it. And they talked about it and they raised their voices. And now it's going to be done like squash the beef.

[Jen]

Yeah.

[Courtney]

I mean, for this week. And then it'll get brought up somehow again because Vicki's like, yeah, no, boobs

[Jen]

don't pay for a 40 million dollar house.

[Courtney]

But he's not just a boob doctor. He's like a celebrity doctor. Vicki.

He's had so many shows. They do have money. I don't think it's a front.

[Courtney]

Now, do I think that maybe their parents inherited the money and then they

also passed it down? Yeah, I. I do think that there's something there.

Do I think Heather grew up really rich?

I do. I think that there's money there. You guys also worked hard.

I think they do work hard. I think they are hustlers. I think they do have family money as well. Yeah.

Also, a hand tattoo comes off the fastest because you're washing your hands so much. So I guarantee you by the reunion, she'll have lasered off because she'll Say, oh, it got blurry, and then Terri just ended up taking it off.

I mean, remember when Tamara got that on her ring finger that said Simon? And then we watched that.

[Mary]

Yes. Gosh. And Terry fixed it.
