Welcome back to two Judgy Girls. This is Mary from the Bay and
Courtney
it's Courtney from la. And it's our favorite day of the week, Summer House Day.
Mary
And it's also someone's birthday. Happy Birthday to Courtney from la. She's in her next decade and what are the hot plans tonight?
Courtney
The hot plans? Well, I will be going to dinner with some friends I think later I'm going to get a pedicure. My mom is here so we might go Grab some lunch after this. It's a chill birthday, I would say. And then I'm going to, like, Vegas this weekend for a friend's bachelorette, as I keep saying. Like, my big trip is, like, when I go and see Harry Styles. So that's very exciting. But I do have to get sentimental for a moment.
Mary
Oh, tell me.
Courtney
Well, because. And this will segue into what we wanted to chat about, too, was this morning I woke up and I got to do this really fun thing with threads. And so we joined threads to talk with Teen Vogue and all the other, like, fashion and pop culture friends of ours to talk about the Met Gala. And it was early. It was at 7am but at 1 point, I just thought, I am so lucky. It is my birthday today and I'm working technically at 7am but this is my job. My job is to talk about the Met Gala this morning and what I liked and what I didn't like. Like, that is my job. That's insane.
Mary
It is pretty wild.
Courtney
And I feel so lucky. And I just thought, like, the first thing that I do on my birthday is wake up and work. And I'm happy.
Mary
I love that we've become two sentimental women, two emo girls.
Courtney
We will start texting each other, like, we're so proud of each other. And then I go, stop it. I go, we both need naps. We both need naps right now. But I just really, it felt very lucky. And obviously I have to thank everybody who listens to us, because without the support, we couldn't do these things and have these opportunities. And so then I thought right after is like, oh, my God. And then I get to dissect every part of Summer House, my best friend, on my birthday.
Mary
It's a pretty good day. You're kicking off the year strong. Honestly, this episode, by far the best episode of the season. I, I. There's so much that happened. I feel like I cannot wait to break it down scene by scene. But let's quickly talk about the Met Gala.
Courtney
Okay. What were your highs and your lows? I had a couple of misses. Let's just get the misses out of the way because we don't want to have, like, so much negativity until we talk shit on the episode.
Mary
Blake Lively. Horrible, awful.
Courtney
Not good. It felt very like eras tour, like the fans in the beginning when she would walk out and a little Cinderella.
Mary
I got, like, a wicked vibe, but
Courtney
not in a good way.
Mary
That was a major miss to me. Where Kendall Jenner, I saw this morning that she put out the wings that she had, I'm like, why did you not do that on the carpet? That's the dress. She looks fantastic. She walked with Zac Posen for Gap, which, you know, San Francisco, which I love.
Courtney
Is Gap based in San Francisco?
Mary
Yeah. Oh, yeah, they're headquartered here. What a missed opportunity.
Courtney
He had said it was a moment for inside and not outside. And maybe the specs, they couldn't do it on the carpet because it wasn't large enough and there were too many people. Like, maybe they tried to do that. And Anna was like, no, I actually thought all the Kardashians looked good. I really liked that everyone thought that they were doing something for skims because they all had hard nips. Are they doing, like, advertising for it? And I was like, I think it's just supposed to represent the naked body.
Mary
Well, Kylie Jenner's was like a replica of real art, because fashion as art was the theme. And you were right, Courtney. Timmy did not come. And he went to the game. He went to the Knicks game, which I was truly shocked. I thought they would walk it together. Kim's was a miss for me. I also felt like her hair was literally like how I wake up in the morning. But I don't know. Fashion and art.
Courtney
Chris Appleton needs to be stopped, okay? Because every year she decides she wants to bleach her hair, and every year it basically falls out. Just wear the wig, Kim. Wear the wig. Sitting there and going through multiple bleach sessions just kills your hair every time. And then what do you have to do? You have to wait an entire year to get the quality of your hair back, and then you do it again.
Mary
So true. I saw Kylie Jenner was, like, trying to tint back her eyebrows this morning.
Courtney
Oh, no.
Mary
And it wasn't going well.
Courtney
Oh, gosh. Another huge miss for me was Hugh Jackman and Sutton Foster. They look like they were going to a black tie wedding. It's the frickin Met Gala. If you guys aren't going to go to camp and like, over the top, I don't want to see it.
Mary
Beyonce, over the top. She hadn't been there in 10 years. She walked with her daughter. Blue Ivy came. Blue Ivy looked stunning. I almost think she looked better than her mom.
Courtney
She was definitely out mugging her. And the crazy thing is, to go to the Met gal, you have to be 18. So Blue Ivy's there. She's what, 15, 14, 17 year old daughter of Nicole Kidman was there. I just know Kim was like, north, get her ready. She'll Be there next year. But then I thought, well, maybe they could bend the rules because both Beyonce and Nicole Kidman were co hosts.
Mary
Yeah. What did you think about Nicole Kidman's red? And it was like sequins with feathers. It was a pretty dress, but I just don't think met.
Courtney
I love her.
Mary
Oh, really?
Courtney
She looked fabulous. I don't know. It was very Nicole. And I know I just said, if you're not going to go over the top, don't come. But like, I'm clapping like Nicole right now. I. I just love her. AMC red people were saying, yeah.
Mary
What about Heidi Klum? Unrecognizable, like a giant cost. You add Bunny as well. Like fast forward in time. He was an 80 year old man. Thoughts on those?
Courtney
Loved Heidi's. Heidi Wein, of course she's going to do something like this. I thought it was perfect. And it was so intricate too. It wasn't just like she put on some makeup. She was sculpted even down to the toes. Like, it wasn't just the gray sculpture. Clay had like dimension to it. Bad Bunny, people were making the comparison that he looked like Kyle Cook at the old person's party.
Mary
That and I saw like the Dekis man, like the most interesting man in the world.
Courtney
I thought it was fun though. And Bad Bunny loves a theme too. I thought a knock eye looked amazing. She was in black, but then she was like painted gold. And she's also just like the most stunning person. I loved her look.
Mary
I thought a lot.
Courtney
Men actually were great. I love Patrick Schwarzenegger. I thought he committed. I love somber. I loved Colman Domingo. I love Jeremy Pope, Sierra and Russell Wilson. Holy power couple. Wow, wow, wow.
Mary
What did you think about your heated rivalry boys? Okay.
Courtney
I thought it kind of represented both of them because Connor is a YSL ambassador, so it was a little like off the Runway. But his arms looked amazing and he played it safe. I wish he did a little bit more, but I'm also okay that that's where he went with his first Met gala. And then you have Hudson, who I think is like chaotic. And he had like this like crystal ball inspired black swan makeup. But his after party outfit was my favorite. Did you see that?
Mary
No, I didn't see that.
Courtney
He had like a beret and a jacket and then it was white button up and then these white peloton shorts with like knee high. And then he came back at like 7am this morning missing the jacket. The hat was gone. It was like, oh, that boy was having fun. And I just Thought for their first Met Gala. Both of them are like, I have to take advantage of this. I don't know what is gonna happen. Like, this could go away tomorrow. I thought they were the bells of the ball.
Mary
They were fun to see. I mean, Katy Perry covered her face.
Courtney
She was in astronaut chic.
Mary
Exactly. Rihanna looked fantastic. I thought she really went all out for it, which I think that's the whole thing. I thought Hailey Bieber had a nice look. She was also that Kardashian. Like the gold with the nipples and the blue. It was stunning and very her. That was actually okay for me.
Courtney
Seen that before, though.
Mary
Yeah. Yeah.
Courtney
I did love the contrast of the gold with that royal blue. I thought it looked really pretty. One of my favorites though, for sure was Sabrina Carpenter. Hers was film and then it was film from the Audrey Hepburn movie Sabrina.
Sponsor Host
Oh, wow.
Mary
I knew it was like real film. And then she did a duet with Stevie Nicks.
Courtney
They did Landslide. I'm like, I'm so jealous.
Mary
And then I think Stevie Nicks wore this, like, pirate hat. And then Jennifer Tilly put up. She's like, I've had this hat too, but I didn't know how to wear it yet. Let's talk about our girl Ciara. She did a nod to Marie Antoinette and she was wearing, like, this cinch corset. She did the correspondence. She is having a moment. She looked flawless. She did this huge Nexus like, get ready with me ad. I just hope it is raining money for her.
Courtney
I thought her outfit was also, whether she realized it or not, a nod to being a bedbug because the bottom was almost like comforter material.
Mary
That's really funny.
Courtney
What did you think about Bronwyn, too? Bronwyn was killing it with her fashion commentary. I want to hear more from Bronwyn.
Mary
I like Bronwyn and I like Lisa Barlow. You know, you can like them all. I like Lindsay and I like Carl. You know, we can like everybody.
Courtney
I'm not sure about that first part of that sentence, but sure, you like people. As long as they're not going up against Carl.
Mary
That is not true, Courtney. I think rationally I see both sides. I have empathy.
Courtney
Oh, my God. I didn't realize today was opposite day. Overall, what I like about the Met Gala, though, or any of these sort of events, whatever it is, I just love the community because I am cackling reading people's posts or, like, their comparisons or their commentary on it. People are so funny. Good times.
Mary
You know what? Should we take a break and get into the episode?
Courtney
Absolutely.

I was avoiding our backyard for a long time. It seemed like a daunting task to give it a little makeover until I found Wayfair, which made it so easy. We recently created such a fun vibe in our backyard. We ordered an outdoor couch. I ordered a fire pit. It is, given the space, a refresh it needed. I have like a second living room now with my backyard. We can hang out. It's a comfy space for Charlie to play. We sit around, have our wine on our beautiful couch. I've taken a nap out there. I added some lighting. We have a fire pit now. It's a space I want to be. And Wayfair made it so easy to find our style work with our budget. I can read reviews. And everything showed up right to our door, which that patio furniture was no joke. It was heavy and it's so nice that it comes directly to your door. Get prepped for patio season. This episode is sponsored by Michaels. Your destination for all things 2026 graduations. As a teacher, let me tell you, I've been to a lot of graduation parties.
Mary
Like, a lot.
Sponsor Host
And you can always tell which ones were thrown together last minute and which ones had a little Michael's magic behind them. Because the party shop at Michael's is truly my secret weapon. They have everything to celebrate graduations all in one place. Balloons, decor, tableware, DIY touches, gifting and it all starts at 199. I love going in person because I can actually see the colors and match themes and grab those big 2026 number balloons that make every backyard instantly better. And here's the best part. Michael does free balloon inflation when you buy them there. Plus they have ready made balloon bundles if you don't want to think too hard about that. And if you're short on time, which let's be honest, graduation season is chaos, you can use same day delivery or buy online pickup in the store.
Mary
It's so easy.

Michael's is known for arts and crafts but don't sleep on their party section. It's become my go to for every celebration. Visit Michael's in store or shop online now Michael's everything to celebrate anything. I'm not kidding when I say this. I could not wait to get home from vacation to sleep in my own bed. And it's entirely because of how much I love my bowl and branch sheets. They are life changing. Before my bedding situation was fine, but you know the little things that start to add up. The sheets were pilling the corners, popping off the mattress in the middle of the night. That's the absolute worst. Pillows going flat and the bed somehow was getting too warm. Nothing terrible, but it just like wasn't great. And then we switched to bow. You can feel the quality immediately. The sheets are unbelievably soft, very breathable. They don't trap heat, they don't slide around and they somehow get softer with every wash. Our bed just feels more comfortable and inviting at the end of the day. Like a place you actually want to crawl into. It's one of those upgrades you don't realize you needed until you have it and then you can't imagine going back. Okay, so we kick off the episode and we are at Camp Sunrise. You guys, I like cried watching this little segment. I don't know what is wrong with me. I just thought this was the sweetest thing I had ever seen. It's Such a great cause. So kids that have cancer are able to go to this summer camp and their siblings, and it's completely free. I think it was the camp counselors having to wear, like a head covering in solidarity that was. That really got me. And so it was Sierra West, Carl, Ben, and I just. Oh, obviously Jesse. Obviously Jesse. I thought it was so interesting what he said in his confessional. He basically says, at the beginning of the summer, I was looking for a relationship with the wrong person, AKA Sierra. And then he's like, you know, I just feel really lonely and I really want a partnership, but I need to work on myself first. And I was like, this was just so profound. I'm a solid woman.
Courtney
Welcome. There are dozens of us, I tell you. And it just makes me feel happy that I've been a proud supporter since. But no, I really did think that this was a vulnerable moment from Jesse and really made him so likable in a way because I think so many people can relate to this.
Mary
This right.
Courtney
Are you alone or are you lonely? And he's coming to terms with these things. And then you just think too, from an aside of watching this show, from what we know, God, were we, like, too hard on these people at some point? Just felt I loved seeing this side of Jesse too. And I love just the conversations that he was having with one of the campers about her going off to college and the way that they could relate to each other. Just felt really nice because oftentimes too, in these shows as we don't get these. These more intimate moments, we're getting partying, we're getting fighting, because that's what gets ratings. But a lot of times too is you need to have that three dimensional aspect where you can see more of who somebody is and just know that there's like so many different sides to each person that's on these casts. And I also thought too was who came.
Mary
I noticed that as well. Yeah.
Courtney
When it comes to the west side Story, I do think in general west is a decent person. And it's just he makes dumb mistakes and obviously so dumb. And like, whatever, you know, I don't need to go into that. But I see him there and I'm like, I bet he was so fun. I bet people gravitated to him so easily. I thought Ben going, Sierra going, Carl goes. That core group going made so much sense to me because I think that those are a lot of the givers of the group.
Mary
And I think that's funny what you said. Like, Wes bringing a good Time. And then they go to this confessional of Sierra talking about Wes at the beginning of the episode. And she talks about, oh, I just like, Ms. Kissed him as a bud. And then she goes, well, that sounds so platonic. And I'm like, wait, so it's not a platonic relationship. What is going on here? Because this week I just felt like Sierra is so in love with him, puts a big kiss on his cheek, leaves the lipstick and says, keep it. She wants this to be a relationship, and I don't think he wanted that. What do you think?
Courtney
That confessional was really worrisome for me because I almost felt like Sierra was in this act of limerance of wanting to be in love with the person she thinks she was in love with before. And I just had so much worry and I kind of felt sick to my stomach after hearing that because you had even said too, what does best friends mean? And there's an underlying part of it where it was we say they weren't friends. Like, they were friends, but with this attraction to each other with hoping it would be more and going back to this. It's also gone from like zero to a hundred where it's not moving slow to let somebody back into your life. They are just back.
Mary
She has completely let down her guard. She is giddy around him. She wants to be around him. This is her best buddy. And I think she wants it to be more. I think it was her opening to him. Like, Like, I'd like to give this another shot.
Courtney
He has a confessional later too. Everything is just getting so confusing because I'm like, where are we being re edited? I actually wish that they would even put up an edit, like, re edited because I think as fans, we need that fourth wall broken that I'm like, is this a new confessional? Had this already been filmed? Because from last week when Wes is like, oh, Sabrina, Bale has already booked our wedding venue and he's really upset about this double date. But then. And this week has a little bit more compassion and empathy that I'm like, when are these being filmed?
Mary
Right. So this week he's wearing this rugby shirt. And then it also seems like Lindsay has a new confessional with the polka dots. But don't you think Lindsey's and Wes are new?
Courtney
Yes. I mean, I texted you and I was like, I really like Lindsay's new polka dot look. And then you're like, is that a refilm? And I'm like, oh, my God. I didn't even think about that.
Mary
But yeah, yes, I'd assume so.
Courtney
Well, and I also wonder too if they filmed confessionals for in the city and pulled them from that and put it into these. I don't know.
Mary
We need to know. We want the details.
Courtney
Please break the fourth wall for us. We have to know about this this week. I was just crushed for Sierra watching this, obviously knowing what we know, but just. Even if we didn't know what we knew, I'd be like, this is probably gonna crash and burn because he just, just. He doesn't want that. And he also doesn't want to confront and have the conversation of. No. When I say best friends, I mean friends.
Mary
I know it's tough. Tough to watch. Okay, so then we go over to see Bailey celebrate it. Girl, over two years, I kind of felt like Bailey, I never thought I'd be living off this and this would be my full time job. I'm like, that's kind of how I feel. Bailey and Levi is like, like crying for her. She like, this is such a big moment for you. And all the girls come, which I love. Sierra, Lindsay, Amanda and Mia. But that Lindsay starts talking about Sharon bombarding her. And Amanda is just listening. And I have some thoughts on this. You go first. You can go first.
Courtney
No, no, please continue.
Mary
No, you go. It's your birthday.
Courtney
No. For a birthday gift, I'd like you to start, please. Go ahead.
Mary
Okay. So Lindsay is talking about it just brought up so much hurt.
Sponsor Host
We.
Mary
I was friends with Sharon for a decade. I thought of her as a mother figure. And she went on national TV and said that her son should break up with me. And I just don't like how Lindsay treated Sharon last week. I think it was a very rude and unacceptable. She should have been way more pleasant. And at the end of the day, Sharon is Carl's mom. What. What was she gonna do? I think it worked out in everyone's best interests. Carl and Lindsay should have never gone down the aisle. And thank God they did it. She needs to let this go. And she seems obsessed with it and it's. It just makes me think it's for a storyline and something to talk about. And this goes in like later in the episode when she is Amanda's mouthpiece and it just feels like she's grasping for camera time. And I just am. Team Carl and Sharon.
Courtney
Oh, God, I'm so glad you've made that apparent because I'm not sure if people knew. So Lindsay said everything I said last week about how I think she felt, so that was not a surprising conversation. To me, it is becoming too much of Lindsay just continually going after Carl. It's like, okay, another episode. Okay, another episode. I just don't think her feelings are unwarranted towards Sharon. I really do think that when she was going to marry Carl, she was so excited to have Sharon in her life. Like, they were close for a decade. I just keep thinking how much that they might have been texting when she brought Sharon out for Carl for his birthday in, like, season four. And as I've been watching the old episodes in the background down, it's actually so crazy to me because I skipped around to season eight or whatever the, like, breakup season is of the engagement. I feel like if they were five years into Carl's sobriety, something could have worked out. It was too much for him to handle this relationship. Someone as strong as Lindsay, she's very held in her opinion. She makes sure you know exactly how she feels. Like there's no if, ands or buts, guts. Carl's not good with confrontation, but every day he gets more and more confident in who he is as a person. That I think down the line they could have been something like, I see when she's taking digs at him and the way that he kind of retorts back or accepts it, that there is this longing of this friendship and missing it, that I'm like, you know what? In an alternate universe, it could have worked out down the line.
Mary
Yeah. I mean, at the end of the day, he wanted someone softer.
Courtney
He need a whole bar after it. No. But it didn't surprise me to hear Lindsay talk about this. I also think this was like a setup, too. Amanda opens it up like, wow, you ran off. Obviously they were going to recap and talk about this. And I think you are correct, though, that she is not having too much of a storyline. She's here to move stories along. She's here to produce. She's here to drop a little nugget, walk away. She's got limited time. She knows how she needs to maximize it.
Mary
I. And I really like Lindsay and I'm excited to see her on the city.
Courtney
It's true.
Mary
We also really like her. She replied to your dm. Tell the people.
Courtney
Oh, you guys. Okay, so remember when it had all come out and then she did that keyboard smash, and we're like, is this a cryptic message or not? Because there was like a WW in there. And normally I would think it's keyboard smash, but that WW threw me off. Yes. So I posted a story and I could have probably just dm, but I was like, if I tag her, I feel like she'll see it more. So I was like, lindsay, can we get an update on this? She did confirm it was just a keyboard smash, but that she thinks we're funny.
Mary
I. I just don't believe it. I still. I believe it. Courtney. Yeah. Yeah.
Courtney
No, well, because you. You believe everything she says or you believe nothing?
Mary
I think it was intentional that. That ww, you know? Okay. Also, this made me think, where is Sharon's husband?
Courtney
Lou?
Mary
Yeah. Where is he?
Courtney
In Pittsburgh.
Mary
I thought it was interesting that we didn't see him at the Soft Bar. Soft Dome.
Courtney
He could have been there. That place was crowded. It was packed. It was shoulder to shoulder.
Mary
But I feel like so much of that conversation that we're referring to was the.
Courtney
The.
Mary
The three of them. Carl, Lou, and Sharon. So I wonder if he doesn't want to film.
Courtney
Maybe he may. Or maybe he just couldn't make out the trip to Soft Bar. I also wanted to just go back to this It Girl party, too, because the dress that Bailey was wearing was giving me major Erika Jane vibes. She wore a dress like that? Maybe in a confessional. I feel like her hair was up, too. But I was like, wait, is Bailey kind of looks wise a mini Erika Jane?
Mary
I could see it.
Courtney
I thought this was just a really cool that. I was proud of Bailey, too, because I'm not super familiar with It Girl, but I was like, okay, she's got sponsorship with Love Sack. She had all these, like, little swag bags. I'm like, this party was expensive. So who was footing it? Because she's obviously doing enough in the influencer life to get these sponsorships for this party. And Love Sack, the main one, which I'm like, laughing because remember that one, too, where Kyle was like, I told my wife about Love Sack. And it's like I said, something's fishy with this ad. Okay, let's take a break, and then let's go into the weekend.

Sierra dressed as the Lorax with the water guns was absolutely hysterical. I love this new kind of entrance thing. You know, Bailey and Levi were the Bushes. Sierra set this all up. It was awesome.
Courtney
Those sandals that she had on her with the soccer. No, she didn't even have socks on. It was with the Lorax outfit. It was just the sandals on it. I don't even understand the Lorax part of it. I'm not familiar with that book. If there are water guns included or if it was just a party outfit that she didn't get to wear at one of the costume parties before because we're at the last weekend guys.
Mary
Oh, she had this on reserve.
Courtney
Yeah, like this was for a different party from over the summer. But she was like, ah shit. Like and we're not having a costume party this weekend it seems.
Mary
I I also feel like Sierra doesn't even have a costume box because she has to throw it out every single time because it's so destroyed and ruined by the end of the party.
Courtney
100 I believe she says with her costumes that she just sees what's available on Amazon that week that she can send out to the Hamptons? And then she puts the work in after. I love this water gun moment because there's something about the innocence of being so silly that was so fun. So Mia and Lindsay arrive first, and Sierra just kind of goes after them. And Lindsay's like, I was an rotc. Like, I was a sharpshooter. And those are the details I need to know about people. I forget about that. That she was rotc. So then everyone comes in and they're all having fun with it. And then the last car is Amanda, Kyle, and Ben. I cannot believe how much I've turned on Amanda, my DG sister. And in times of need, I can't be there for her anymore. And it's just like, why can't they shoot her because she's wearing suede? Boo. Freaking who?
Mary
She just came in complaining there's water all over the house. Just doesn't want to be a part of it. She is probably annoyed because she had to sit in the car with Kyle for so long. She's just frustrated. You can just tell she has the ick for Kyle. And I genuinely feel like. Like she was trying to get through the summer, this final weekend to actually pull the trigger on the relationship. I feel like she already went into the summer knowing she was gonna leave him.
Courtney
Yeah. And it's crazy because I'm gonna tell you guys that I am team Kyle. I think that's gonna be pretty controversial this week because of him telling her bleep you. And I understand. And I'm not going to defend that point part because I'm not going to defend that. But we'll get there.
Mary
I don't even think it's controversial. It would be if what had happened didn't happen.
Courtney
Maybe you're right. That's why I, like, texted you too. I was like, I hate having to watch this through a different lens because I'm wondering what would I have been like if I was just watching this without this all happening. She comes in. It's not even that she's so mad at Kyle, but the two of them, especially again, watching all these, like, old seasons, the two of them are just such vibe ruiners when they're bickering at each other. Like, it is not fun for the house. The fact of the previous weekend of Amanda not being there and Kyle having the best weekend of his life. I'm like, why did you guys do this every season? I think except for the last season, or maybe the Carl Lindsay Breakup season. You guys hate each other.
Mary
I know. It's. It's. Honestly, it's very sad because they were gonna get a divorce and they've decided to have one last summer. But Kyle didn't even realize how bad it was until the end of the summer because Amanda's just done.
Courtney
Wait, can we talk about the boys doing their mustaches?
Mary
Of course, yes.
Courtney
This is the first season we've had this many boys staying in the house. And there was just something so ridiculous, but also, like, kind of adorable of them all just jumping in a circle, being like, let's all shave mug mustaches.
Mary
No, they're. They're endearing.
Courtney
They really are. They're just all having the best time. Little do they know what's coming.
Mary
I know. Especially if they only knew we needed,
Courtney
like, the black screen. If only they knew what was to come. And then it's slow mo and gray of them jumping in the circles together and just being like, the summer was the last thing that was fun. Summer should be fun. Fall was not something like really setting this scene and it's Andy narrating it.
Mary
And spring was not fun either.
Courtney
No, I don't think winter was either. Honestly, I don't even know if summer was that fun for Kyle. Minus the one weekend Amanda didn't come.
Mary
Right.
Courtney
I've got a lot of things going on.
Mary
Okay, so Sierra is talking on the car ride over and she is telling everyone, I think Amanda and Kyle should spend a month apart. And Lindsay's like, yes, but that's a really big move. If I heard a married couple were spending a month apart and quote, unquote, still dating, that's a last ditch effort, I think Lift. Lindsay's like, are we at the last ditch effort?
Courtney
How is this gonna affect my show?
Mary
Amanda is, but Kyle is not. The way that Sierra told Kyle everything on the beach, he.
Courtney
I think she overstepped.
Sponsor Host
He was clueless.
Mary
Clueless. Let's talk about that moment. Tell me your thoughts about the overstepping.
Courtney
I think the problem here is that Amanda is having a lot of mouth pieces for her. Sierra, Lindsay, later in the episode west, at some point where it's getting. If I'm Kyle, I'm like, so everyone's talking about me, but I hear nothing of this. So, like, these conversations that Sierra is having with Kyle, she can have that with Amanda as a best friend. Because you need to have a best friend where you can talk to and say, like, am I being crazy? Like, what do I do? Have these conversations. But then if that best friend Who? And Sierra and Kyle are very good friends. So it's not that, but it's like when you're going from her to me and you're telling me these things and these are combos I'm not having with my wife. This is insane. What else do you know? It just felt like she was overstepping in this moment to suggest this when that's a conversation Amanda needs to be having with Kyle and Sierra shouldn't be having it with both of them.
Mary
I wonder if this is for the show, even though it's their real life, like, but to just facilitate this conversation. But you could tell Kyle is speechless, out of breath in this moment. He's like, wait, what? You guys have already talked about this.
Sponsor Host
I had no idea.
Mary
We've been going to couples therapy. She has mentioned nothing about actually separating and this is like what she wants to do.
Courtney
I.
Mary
He is totally caught off guard and he's like, I don't even know what she wants. Like, I don't know if she's going to do the work. And you having this conversation with me makes me believe she doesn't want to do the work. So he. He's blindsided in this moment, I would say.
Courtney
What a real blind side, Mary.
Mary
Yeah, that's a good question.
Courtney
I. No, I'm asking you because you don't.
Mary
No, I know. I do think Kyle's blindsided in this
Courtney
moment and I think this actually affects his entire demeanor for the rest of the day because Cyr's having this conversation with me. I don't know what's going on. It's happening on camera. What the hell else is going on camera? Who else knows? Yes. At this point, too, that whole car knows. He is getting so paranoid. He's spinning out of control. And in his mind, too. I think he's thinking, one more weekend, one more weekend and we can figure out what the hell is going on. Even though we're going to be going straight into the city from this last weekend. I felt so bad for him in this moment, even if he's a shitty partner, because I was like, this is just not. It's not Sierra's place at this point to tell him these things. Am I wrong in that?
Mary
No. I mean, you shouldn't be so invested in your friend's relationship. I think she has a good heart and her intention is like, like, you guys don't deserve to be this miserable. You're miserable together. You need to take some time apart to maybe come back together. And this is the last ditch effort. But Kyle didn't realize we are that far gone.
Courtney
Yes, exactly. And yeah, and I think you're right too, is like this. That's why we always talk about these blurred lines in this house because everyone is so invested in everything with this. Because if we go into the Mia and Amanda conversation at the beach where they're talking about Sierra and Wes, which also is like, it's so crazy because in any other day we'd be like, Amanda is such a good friend to Sierra. She really cares about her. She wants the best for her. And then you watch and you're like diabolical.
Mary
The quotes from her is like insane. I She's like, I would be happy if they got back together. I would be the happiest. The happiest person in the entire world. But he needs to be ready. You know, like you can tell there is something there. And the way that like that pick me moment that she wasn't invited out after soft bar and they flash back to her trying to look at the text, it's just we're watching it completely differently. And Amanda, I'm just, you know, I'm pretty skeptical and weary of that West, I just don't think this is the road they should go down, basically.
Courtney
And it's wary, by the way, but that's neither here nor there. But this conversation where I see the Sierra's infatuation with West, I'm like, I'm starting to see it with Amanda here too of just this guy is being nice to me and she has this like emotional crush on west at this point.
Mary
He got up in the middle of the fight and went over to sit next to her. That was crazy watching that.
Courtney
In retrospect, I thought he thought Kyle was going to do something bad that like violent. I thought he got up there in case something was going to happen that way. You do not think that or you thought he was just there to be the knight in shining armor for her.
Mary
It's just wild. I'm not surprised why she emotionally was
Courtney
invested and I think, yeah, emotionally is like attached to him in a way because her self esteem is in the gutter. She has this guy who's defending her. He. The crazy thing is is that she's seen what went west has done to Sierra and still in her mind again, temporary psychosis. I don't know. But it's like she just wants somebody to be nice to her. And it's taken this fairy tale of who this person is and this idea of this guy who's kind of like Kyle.
Mary
Everyone Seems to love him, to want to be around him. He's intoxicating. What do you say, Courtney?
Courtney
He's disarming and he's charming. And to the juror who said. And that's alarming, but the way that
Mary
Amanda is speaking about Sierra, she's like, she's just such an incredible person. She's so special, and she needs to be treated differently than any other woman in the world. And I just don't trust anyone with her heart. I would die for that girl. The way I would cut west off if she gave me one look attack. I was like, this is.
Courtney
That was overcompensating. Because she was like, I'm not. I shouldn't have a crush on this guy. That's how I took it was the thing she was saying where she was like, I don't have a crush on him. So, like, I. I'd cut him off. I'd kill him. Like, oh, I hate this guy. Because she's like, I can't have these feelings. I can't have these feelings. Like, that's where I was getting from it. Because I'm like, you're talking too much about what you would do. It's. It's not that big of a deal. Oh, my God.
Mary
This is so wild.
Courtney
It's insane.
Mary
It's insane.
Courtney
It truly is. Because in a regular day, I don't know that we would think anything of this. We would think Amanda's being such a good friend. We would think everyone's just flirty with each other, like, there's nothing going on.
Mary
Amanda telling Wes, like, oh, yeah, you should wear your hair that way.
Courtney
You know, your hair looks sexy pushed back. Come on, Sierra, tell him his hair looks sexy pushed back. So Jesse pulls Ben to the side, and we learn a little bit more about Ben, about how his dad was a born again Christian, and that means no sex before marriage. And Ben did a really bad thing in high school. I'm like, you slept with your high school girlfriend? And his dad cut him off because that was not okay, even though he said he never would. But then he's telling Jesse, who, if we remember, he cut Sabrina off after, like, 10 days of dating, and now they've been dating for three weeks, and he's going to tell her, I love her. Sabrina Bale, I love you. Jesse's like, oh, you're gonna tell her I love you? Well, thought we were gonna kind of have a single summer together, but I guess if I could lose you to anyone, it would be her.
Mary
Jesse is on to them. He is like, come on, just say the real timeline. This is crazy.
Courtney
You're gonna say you're in love with her after three weeks. So let me tell you what happened with me and Lexi last summer. I said that I loved her after two days. Okay, so be honest with me. But he's not. They don't have spats.
Mary
Do you think at the reunion he will confess that they didn't really break up and they were talking the whole time?
Courtney
He should. I think he should. And I think that the audience would like him more. I also was like, why do you guys film yourself kissing so often? Like, they choke clips.
Mary
No. Where did we get those from? Why were they inserted? I don't want to see that. I hate PDA's.
Courtney
We are non touchy feely people.
Mary
You're lucky to get a hug from me.
Courtney
And when we are sentimental, we say we're just supposed to be tired. We're producers. Like, hey, do you guys have any videos of you kissing? He's like, oh, let me get out the Rolodex of film.
Alltrails Announcer
So strange.
Courtney
I know. But. But I also, I. Guys, I. I still do like Sabrina. I still do wonder.
Mary
I'm. I'm not sure about her yet.
Courtney
Well, that's fair. But what if she, like, comes out at the reunion? They're like, sabrina Bale is here.
Mary
She's definitely in his green room watching the entire thing.
Courtney
Total. I mean, but the thing is, wouldn't you.
Mary
Of course.
Courtney
Like, what? I'm like, oh, you want me to sign an NDA? No problem. To be. No. To be in the green room and just seeing it filmed. Oh, God.
Mary
Go.
Courtney
Oh, my God. Okay, let's go to Freedom Dinner Part 2. Two years since the breakup. Lindsay, Lindsay, Lindsay. It's called the Lost Supper, which I liked. I like the play on words there. Because you're going to talk about something you lost and then something you found this summer. Which I thought this was a really cute idea, except that she opens up and she's like, carl lost me. Now how she could have saved it was. But then he opened soft bar. He found his calling in soft Bar. That to me would have been great. She's like, he got all these thirsty girls in his DMs. Like, that's no, Lindsay, come on, you could have done better.
Mary
It just feels like an obsession. Like she's the one that keeps talking about it. I think he is genuinely happy for her and what she said is so cute. Lindsay said, I lost all time timelines, but I found my dream girl. I Mean, so endearing. And I. It just feels like she's obsessed with him.
Courtney
But anyways, well, it's like she really just wants to get her last digs in. And at the end of the day, it's like the last dig is that Lindsay you got in the city and he's not on it completely.
Mary
And you have a baby girl that you're obsessed with.
Courtney
Totally. I don't think that she was wrong with Sharon. And I know we'll differ on that and I think a lot of people agree with you. But at this point I'm like, okay, I don't want another episode of you going after Carl on this because he's also not bringing it back to you. So, like every time you do it, it's just kind of like a brick wall. And it feels weird because he's not engaging with it and he's like, very appreciative. I think he posted this week, or maybe it was like late last week.
Mary
Teddy bear.
Courtney
Yes, exactly. The teddy bear's still there at Soft Bar. And so I'm like, that's like sweet. She made a good point, actually. And we didn't mention this at the it girl party, but she was like, Carl has had all of this time to sit down with me and have a one on one. And I think Lindsay was saying that, like, I would move on if he would accept fault for blindsiding me. But the difference is, is that Carl doesn't think he blindsided her. He thinks that was just the natural progression of what happened. And so it's like you want him to sit down with you. And I think that they should have
Mary
also went into that talk thinking that they were going to like, like postpone the wedding and work on their relationship.
Courtney
Yeah. I do think, though, it would feel very cathartic if they did have a sit down because I think Carl would come in with a lot of grace and just take whatever it was that she wanted to say to him and then be like, okay, well, now we have to stop this. I am really sorry. Carl doesn't want to hurt people.
Mary
No. They could be thick as thieves. Have a freaking blast. And that, that story arc is what people want to watch. I understand last summer, of course you're not going to forgive him. Of course you don't want to be in the same room as him. But like, this summer would have been the opportunity to be really silly together and she missed it.
Courtney
I know. And I just, I understand that. There's also a lot of hurt too. And there is the factor of it all happening on tv. And so like, I understand the ego and the embarrassment that comes from Lindsay and that she doesn't necessarily want to forgive him. Him for that. But I'm like, man, her saying that she would have loved to sit down and he had two years to do it. I was like, I really do wish that that had happened and maybe it will at some point. But it felt like we really could resolve that part of it and Lindsay could still come out looking great.
Mary
Yeah, well, I guess. Well watch what happens.
Courtney
Okay. Also too, before the dinner starts, Jesse spills the martini all over him. The scene where Bailey is shaking his shirt, I know it looks like she's giving him a handy. Really did make me laugh because I thought that they could have been a cute couple together.
Mary
I agree. I kind of. I like, I like Carl and Bailey better though.
Courtney
Do you? I don't.
Mary
Okay, you can, you can have Jesse and Bailey.
Courtney
Yeah, I mean, it's not gonna happen, but I don't know. I feel like Carl and Bailey, she wants somebody who wants to take more control. And Carl's not there yet. He's more reserved. You know, she's talking about how like we'll flirt, but then all of a sudden it like turns into friendship and like he's not trying to pursue something. But then we sit at the table and Bailey's lost and found. Was like that she lost, you know, going through this really tough relationship. And now she's found joy. They're like found so much joy. You should make out with Carl the
Mary
way that they made out. There was tongue, there was deep throaty. I mean, Carl said it was like, like plugging in your phone and hitting it on the first time. I was like, what is this comparison?
Courtney
Okay. I think he meant the USB part of it and not the actual plug because, you know, sometimes when you put the USB into the plug, you have to like flip it over. That's what I was thinking. He was saying, cuz I'm like, I've never had an issue of getting the two prongs in. Also, we got to see Sierra's grills. I said last week, I was like, I want to see Sierra's grills. And I just love the Sierra Mia KJ relationship. Like, I just love the three of them. I'm so happy they found each other. Can we talk about KJ's lost unfound. I know.
Mary
I didn't know about this brother.
Courtney
Me neither. So he lost his brother years ago when his brother was going to be like 17 turning 18 he didn't have his father, so he didn't really have those type of father, brother figures in his life. And then this season, and this is also why I'm so pissed that Amanda. Wow. West did what they did, because when KJ delivered how excited he was to have this brotherhood in the house and how he doesn't have a lot of friends, especially guy friends, and he feels like he genuinely found it this season. Tears.
Sponsor Host
I know.
Mary
It's very sweet. He is the sweetest. But also, this kind of reminds me we didn't talk about at the beach, that there's this moment where the boys are all talking and. And they go to Wes, like, oh, is that weird for you to see KJ and Dara? And he's like, no, not at all. And I just feel like that was a little tidbit for us because he's going to be using that as a deflection.
Courtney
Oh, you think so at the reunion,
Mary
that helps west, him being like, oh, no, they're a better match than Dara and I were. You're right.
Courtney
Oh, yeah. So you think they were trying to help him?
Mary
I just think it was a little tidbit, a little Easter egg.
Courtney
I also noticed, too, and I'm. I'm choosing to believe that they've added more Levi scenes. Oh.
Mary
Because the fan reaction.
Courtney
I feel like they're throwing her a bone here. Like, maybe she could come back next summer because people were, like, upset. Okay. So west, last year, he feels like he's lost his voice, but he found a friendship and relationship, which I'm like, what? What are you guys talking about? Out. That was lost for a long time. A friendship and relationship. Blurring the lines here. So Sierra's loss was that she had a huge weight of having to hate and dislike this person I genuinely love the most. Wesling. And then this year, she found the bar, she found the club. She went out. I'm like, this is crazy. I think without even knowing what we know, I would think this is crazy.
Mary
Well, she thinks that they're going to be in a relationship in the fall, and then she comes over and kisses him. Do you feel like he felt uncomfortable in that kiss?
Courtney
Okay. Because at one point, she kissed the cheek, right. And then she pulls back, and it almost looks like she's gonna go in for.
Mary
Yes.
Courtney
Like a lip kiss.
Mary
Yes.
Courtney
And I was like, what is happening? Like, this is too fast. They obviously, like, need to continue talking because I was like, okay, we've just gotten to the friendship point, and now it's moving a Little too fast. I'm like, God, Sierra, you're gonna get hurt. You're gonna get hurt. You're gonna get hurt because you can't be friends with west, unfortunately. There's like those people in our lives that we've dated that you could just never be friends with again. And for Sierra, that is Wes. And it's going to end in heartbreak. Obviously, we know what we know, but, like, even without that, I think she would get crushed.
Mary
I know.
Courtney
It's.
Mary
This is. It's so tough to watch.
Courtney
It really is. So then they go into Kyle, and Lindsay gives his lost and found. Kyle lost his wedding ring, but he found a DJ career. And I'm like, you can just see. Because he's like. And you can see in him the spiral is starting. Like, oh, what the fuck? Does Lindsay know? What does Lindsay know? And she knows, by the way, because she was in the car with Sierra when she told everyone because that car was full of six people. Six people were in that car.
Mary
It's just like she was activated. She was prepared for this.
Courtney
This fight.
Mary
She was trying to rile him up.
Courtney
Jesse's like, okay, so wait, Kyle, I heard you're signing with a manager for your DJ career. And Kyle's like, well, I haven't signed the contract, but I really want to treat this like a career. I'm gonna go to Vegas. I'm gonna DJ marquee. And now I can be more selective about where I dj. And I'm gonna get the Vegas residency so I can cross it off the predictions.
Mary
Like, so then Lindsay is like, well, does. Does Amanda know about this decision? Like, did you have a conversation with your wife? She's your partner. Is she involved in this at all? And Kyle's just like, well, I was planning on having that conversation one on one tomorrow. And Kyle's, you know what? This is the only thing that brings me joy and happiness and pays the bills. And you know what? I think I'm actually, actually good at it.
Courtney
He's not even that activated yet, though.
Mary
I know. Not yet.
Courtney
Until Lindsay is like, well, I just, like, get confused. Like. Or are you confused, Lindsay? I get confused because you need to be aligned as a family, a unit, and a team. Like, you took on this career without talking to your wife. She starts talking about the kid timeline, and I'm like, see, everybody is over freaking stepping here. This is crazy. This. This man is already paranoid. You guys are setting him into a spiral. You are ganging up on him. This isn't gonna end well. And I will Tell you, when I first saw that Carl and Kyle scene, I was 100 going to be team Carl on this. And I'm like, I'm Kyle all across the board, because everyone is coming at him at every angle.
Mary
Sorry. My love for playing music has been the butt of everyone's joke all summer long, guys.
Courtney
Lindsay's like, okay, well, you know what? We need to talk about partnership, because I sat at the reunion with you guys. Amanda said she wants to have kids with someone who wants to have kids with her, and you're not showing those traits. You're now saying that DJing is more important than having a family. And Kyle just kind of does. Like,
Mary
she is not ready to have kids. Blast me all you want. You are not ready.
Courtney
You know that.
Mary
Don't blame this on me.
Courtney
But at any point, Amanda could have also stepped in. I think this is what was annoying me about this was Amanda. She loves when people fight her battles. Like, this is why this reunion will be so interesting, especially hearing the leaks, because she's had people to fight her battles time and time again. And finally, though, she does say, like, okay, well, let's, like, remove the kids from it all. But, guys, keep going at Kyle, but just don't talk about the kids part, because it is true. I. I don't want to have kids with him.
Mary
And then Kyle, God forbid I do something that I enjoy. I've worked my ass off for the last seven summers, seven years, and I've had no joy. No joy. I feel under attack. Don't gang up.
Courtney
Ben's like, kyle, Sabrina Bell and I talked about this, and the manager's actually going to help. And I appreciated Ben in this moment because what we're trying to do is, like, diffuse the situation. Like, Lindsay, you got the reaction action you wanted, but now it's going too far because not only that, it's like, Lindsay's involved, Sierra is involved. West is getting involved. The rest of the table is like, what the? Like, what the. Everyone is starting to get involved, and Kyle gets like, don't gang up on me. And then Kyle sits back down, and he looks at Amanda and just says, you know what this is about now? The. You absolutely inappropriate. I am not Team Kyle on that. This. But when he said, I know what this is about. It's leaving me separating, setting the scene to make me look like the bad guy, and you look like the good guy, and everyone here knows. And now today, I do no.
Mary
And Amanda, she's like, has kind of, like, nervous laughter in this moment. She's Kind of can't believe what is happening. And she has kept. Kept quiet the entire time. Besides the let's keep the kids out of it because she. She hasn't wanted to have kids with him. And then Wes moves over right next to Amanda, and I was like, this is so wild. Like, he's her protector in this moment. And then Kyle's just like, let's stop making mountains out of Mohills.
Courtney
West is like, you can talk to Lindsay. Stop looking at Amanda.
Mary
That was so strange.
Courtney
And I'm also like, Wes, you don't get to tell Kyle what to. The whole thing was like, so weird. Like, how are people not seeing how insane this gets? Especially for the fact it was like, Sierra, you blindsided him today completely. Completely. And he is paranoid. And now he knows what's gonna happen. Oh, the storyline is Amanda leaving Kyle, and Kyle doesn't know about it. Oh, that's big. This is my show. You guys, big know. But really, like, I am summer house. And then Lindsay's bringing up the partnership and he's like, we don't even have a partnership. And a partnership. You pull weight. She doesn't pull any weight. I am losing my mind. I will smack tables. You have no idea, everyone. I can't believe that Carl's getting so up in arms as opposed to diffusing the situation. I also thought that Carl was out of line here too. He's already at a level 100. You gotta bring him down or let him go.
Mary
He stood up and says, chill the out. Chill the out. And then Kyle's like, I'm so sick of normalizing all the I feel. And then he walks out the door and Kyle throws the glass you Carl. And then Carl was like, you, you loser. And then I don't think there'll be any physical fight or anything.
Courtney
Carl is so mad at him about the. He's his eating chicken salad. You know, he's so mad him that I feel like he's using this Amanda situation to take out all of his anger at Kyle, which is why he got so activated in this. And I'm like, I can't believe how team Kyle I am in this situation minus the you to Amanda. Because no, that was not okay. I'm thinking too, the rest of the table might not know that he was blind hindsighted today. Right?
Mary
I mean, he officially reached his breaking point. And it's all because of Sierra suggesting the separation at the beach. Amanda not saying a word, staying completely quiet virtually the entire time. It's actually insane because this is Their real life. Like, they are married. They are potentially getting a divorce, and in this moment, I am team Kyle as well. Besides the fuck you.
Courtney
Do you think we'll be in the minority or the majority?
Mary
Well, if we didn't know what happened happened, but I know.
Courtney
I like to believe that I would still understand where Kyle was coming from because of that blind side, but at the same time, like, be so happy Amanda has left him. I just think this was a really big episode of overstepping in their relationship and that Amanda needs to have a backbone and have these, like, you can't have couples therapy off camera, by the way. Maybe it is on camera. We're not seeing it, but I have to assume it's off camera, that that's where the honest conversation should be happening. If she was waiting until the end of the season for this to happen, why are you going to couples therapy?
Mary
So we have two more episodes left.
Courtney
Yes. Mm. Which is crazy, because we're at the last weekend.
Mary
I'm so curious how they're gonna, like, transition it into the city as well, and how much of this is gonna bleed over.
Courtney
I would think a lot. Yeah, I think a lot. Watching this, I was just like. Because this is a volcano of a summer.
Mary
I watched this, like, last three minutes of this fight, like, six times. And honestly, the craziest part to me was Wes moving over to sit next to Amanda. That is insane.
Courtney
The Kyle and Carl of it all. I'm like, I. Because I just think it's Carl taking his anger out on Kyle at this point.
Mary
I also just.
Courtney
I think Kyle's like, I will say.
Mary
Say everything I want to say now because you don't want to have kids with me. You have stayed on this show because of me. You don't do in our relationship. You're not even trying to work this out at this point. I think our going to couples therapy.
Courtney
So you can say you went to
Mary
couples therapy, but you're not doing any of the work. And I am kind of done, because I know you are so done.
Courtney
Well, and I also think about, too, the episode where Sierra tells everyone she bought her family's house. House. And Amanda says, and yet I don't have a house in New Jersey. So the relationship is, Kyle should be paying for everything or giving me everything. And so then he takes all these gigs. Now Kyle's mistake is that he doesn't go home after. Stop putting yourself in the gray. Situations where dms have to come through. We have to wonder what Kyle's doing in his off hours. If that was that, that he did the gig and he left, it'd be different. But I keep thinking he's working because he's literally the provider.
Mary
I know. I wonder how many times she is going to say that she caught him cheating. I feel like that is going to be revealed on the city. Also feel like the last straw is going to be like he basically came home one night, like brought a bunch of women to our house. There's going to be something like that.
Courtney
Yeah. Kyle's not innocent. I just think in this week I'm on Kyle's side with this because of that blind side. And I would wonder if Sierra didn't say anything, would it even gotten to that point?
Mary
I mean, he truly lost his mind.
Courtney
He blacked out from rage.
Mary
Yes.
Courtney
Yes. Not lover boy. It was pure rage.
Mary
Yes.
Sponsor Host
Agreed.
Mary
Two more episodes, Courtney. My God, I just, I'm forgetting.
Courtney
How are we filling two more episodes? We're on Friday night. It's gonna be like a minute by minute playback or something. You know, it's like 10:02 2 one can only hope that Kyle's the new Jack Bauer.
Mary
An episode of 24. Yeah, exactly. My God. Well, this was too fun. Happy, happy birthday. And we will be back later this week with the Valley Southern Hospitality, Beverly Hills. But have the best day.
Courtney
Thank you. All right, bye everyone.
Mary
Bye.
