I loved this episode and it was extra long.

It was so insane watching it. I texted you when I watched it the first time and I was like, I had to pause it because so much is going on. I don't even know what. I watch all this stuff that's continually happening throughout this episode. And they found their stride right at the end of the season.

[Mary]

It was jam packed. And I thought about this. I'm like, do you think they re edited it? Why was the beginning so bad? But I loved this episode.

[Courtney]

I think it's what happens when you put these people on vacation when they don't have their real life responsibilities and they drink excessively. Also they all hate each other. And so it just gets heightened and then, like, out of control.

[Mary]

Also, I feel like when people are hungover, they are very honest because they're too tired. And they kind of say things that they're like, why did I say that? Am I still drunk from the night before? I'm really tired a la Luke.

[Courtney]

Yeah. Or that was just a thought. I said it out loud.

And that is honestly my bad. I'm. I'm sorry for that. It goes from like, hangover. Then they have one drink, hair of the dog, and they're a different person. We're watching that with each character on this show. Before we get into the episode, though, we have to do a little bit of a shout out. So as a recording, these Emmy nominations are still coming out, but we have to discuss because Summer House got nominated for its first Emmy after this season. What do you think?

I'm so excited for them.

Well deserved.

I mean, talk about taking over the summer because I feel like people were so invested in this story. I think it was bigger than Scandal. Scandal put them on the map.

[Courtney]

So it's for outstanding unstructured reality program. This is so exciting. We watch these shows and Bravo is this, like, niche community where we think, oh, everybody knows about Bravo. And then you talk to them, you're like, oh, you know, Summer House, is that. Is that a place? What is that? You're like, you're not my people, but whatever. But then it becomes almost this mainstream thing. This scandal made it more mainstream. It was talked about. It was discussed. And so my thing, I think about, what if the carpet is the first time the entire cast is together again?

Oh, for The Emmys?

Do you think Wes and Amanda will be invited?

They're part of that cast. I remember when Vanderpump Rules was invited. The cast went. And I just think about, would they go as a cast? What is going to be the vibe? The Emmys are usually in, what, like, September, October. So we still have months till then. But I just think, like, how silly

I feel like, would west go? Do you think he'd show up at this point?

[Courtney]

West wants to go to an opening of an envelope. Come on.

[Mary]

Come on now, Mary, if you were in that situation, would you go? You've been nominated for Emmy. Let's be fair. Part of the reason that this season was so successful. People are watching for Easter eggs, right?

[Mary]

I guess if I took enough beta blockers, I could show up to the car. Do you think west and Amanda have watched it at this point?

[Courtney]

Absolutely not. But I do weirdly think they have watched it, but they're trying to tell people they have it. I just can't imagine being the center of this show and not understanding what people are talking about and not having to take accountability. Well, then I just said that out loud and, of course, why would they take accountability? I just can't imagine, though, to be so involved in this and that west, who one of the biggest upsets about this scandal for him was that he couldn't share behind the scenes from the summer that he's not watching.

[Mary]

I know he feels like such a narcissist that he would want to know what people are talking about and want to be aware of the situation.

[Courtney]

That's why I'm like, I feel like in secret, he's watched it. Okay. I also want to talk about Georgina on Watch what Happens Live last night. Lindsay's in the audience now. I don't know if Watch what Happens Live invited her. Georgina was like, please come with me. Because Lindsay was there with Georgina, who has a twin sister named Christina.

A brunette version.

It's like Dorinda and Melinda. It's like Christina and Georgina. But we are on Lindsay overload right now. She is doing whatever she can can to make sure that this show is a success. And they ask her that. Lindsay, you know you've been spotted out with Matt James. Is there something going on? She's like, I don't know. Andy's like, lindsay, you're pretty online.

I liked what she did. She's like, I'm having a single summer. I mean, they definitely hooked up. I feel like she verified that and, like, good for you. That's fun.

Oh, I agree. So then they asked Georgina, have you talked to Amanda? She's like, I have talked to Amanda. Amanda said she was sorry for her mist. And the girl that was on, she was like, which mistake? And she's like, of dating West. And then she said, well, there's still time to fix this. You can apologize for the mistake. And she's like, well, that fell onto deaf ears. She's not sorry.

Didn't she say something like, you can get out of this relationship, like, you can stop what you're doing right now.

[Courtney]

There's still time to, like, mend this and fix this and figure it out and whatever. And she's like, but then that didn't happen. Well, at this point, Amanda's just telling people what they want to hear because she's not sorry. She doesn't care. She's already blown up her life. She's like, I gotta stick the landing at this point.

[Mary]

Right. I'm so curious about the reunion because I feel like, is she going to have sympathy at this point at the reunion? I. I'm curious what her strategy is going to be with the reunion since it was such a bust for the summer house one. With the video they released today of her look, it doesn't seem like she's on beta blockers. She has some life in her. She had some spunk.

[Courtney]

I didn't see the video. I just saw the photo of her outfits. Because the reunion look Lindsay's giving very Andy Anderson from How to Lose a guy in 10 days. Nick showed up in Converse.

[Mary]

I actually appreciate this. I think it's kind of fun. She's going to be comfortable sitting down in it because she's wearing pants. I like it. I actually think it would be nice for a bride as well to wear on her bachelorette party. I think it's fun and flirty. So I got to give it to her.

Danny should become a cult leader because the way that some of this cast is following him, defending him, it's actually crazy.

We have to personally thank Lala. If she wasn't on this cast, what would be happening? She's basically the only one that calls him out on the. Michelle does as well. But we have to seriously send her a card saying, thanks so much for your service.

After seven, I kind of stopped because then I was trying to follow what was going on. But I hit seven times that Danny said, uncomfortable.

Are you uncomfortable? She keeps saying she's uncomfortable, like, Danny, shut up. And then Zach saying birthday. Do you just hear it every time he says it? Because I pointed it out and I

think Danny says it wrong too.

Oh, really? He's just saying, let's go. It's like what I need the cast to say, Danny, you're annoying. You are just annoying. Your energy is annoying. You are annoying. And I wish they would say that because I think they keep saying this level of inappropriate and what he did to Jasmine and Melissa, inappropriate. But when they keep saying he's doing things inappropriate. I don't know that he's doing things inappropriate as much as he's being a different person when he drinks. Does that make sense, like the word inappropriate of the level of what they're comparing it to?

[Mary]

Well. And he does make people feel uncomfortable.

[Courtney]

Say it the right way, Mary. Uncomfortable.

[Mary]

The way that Janet explained to Jesse about the pantry moment. She was like, I was nervous in the pantry because I didn't know what he was gonna do and he was trying to be so secretive about it. And not that he was going to come on to me, but she was nervous in that small space with him because she's like, what is he going to do? Like, sneak drinks and then what am I supposed to do? Not tell anyone about it? She felt uncomfortable because he does weird shit when he drinks and he makes people feel uncomfortable, not even coming on to them. They don't know what he's going to say next. And he gets very activated and it makes them nervous because it's unpredictable and you're kind of like, do I lean into it and laugh at him or do I say I feel weird right now? They don't know what he's going to do next when he is drinking. And that's why they are all uncomfortable.

[Courtney]

That's exactly what I was going to use. That same word of unpredictable. Sometimes he's inappropriate, but it's that he's unpredictable. They can't understand what's going to come next from him. And I wish that they would lean into that word. Hey, you're unpredictable. We don't know what's going to happen and it makes us uncomfortable. And I think also you're just annoying. So it's like he's their eating chicken salad for a lot of them too. And it's like him and Nia, they do try to put up this front that everything is perfect. I think the cast has put them on a pedestal to say that their relationship is so good. Kristen and Luke, they idolize their relationship. I'm like, there's a lot of darkness in this relationship, you guys. We got a little bit more of a glimpse into this, of how they actually interact with each other when they're fighting.

[Mary]

Can you imagine seeing their fights off camera? I. I would love to see when the cameras are down. And also I really need to meet Danny's dad. I would love for him to be on camera. I think that would really complete the story for us. Okay.

[Courtney]

What do you think Danny's dad is like?

[Mary]

I don't know. That's why I want to see it.

[Courtney]

Oh, okay. Danny. Also, I think we said this last week too. He doesn't understand that people can't like him because he was this child actor.

[Mary]

He was in the biz.

[Courtney]

He was at Teddy's and dancing up a storm with Nia, the hot beauty pageant queen. He was winning in every aspect of his life minus the height.

[Mary]

Okay, I will say he is in shape.

[Courtney]

Yes. He took a little ozempic. He is working out like crazy. His body looks good. He's spray tanning. So everything is defined. He is got four under four. He's got the hot wife. They book go mountain. They've got a five bedroom five. They're living in the valley. They are perfect except for the people on this show who want to hold them accountable. That's just their one issue here in life.

I also feel like he has to come to the reunion and say I

worked program and he's never going to say that. That would be admitting he has a problem, Mary. He's not going to admit he has a problem.

[Mary]

But I think that is the only way that he could move forward with this group. And he can't drink in front of them.

[Courtney]

I mean, Michelle's saying like if I were you, since this group doesn't like your actions when you drink, I wouldn't drink. He's like, well that's what I'm doing. As he's holding a tequila Sprite.

[Mary]

It's water. It's water guys.

[Courtney]

I love lime with my water. It's sparkling water too. That's why there's bubbles. That has nothing to do with the Sprite. And then you're literally going and ordering a patron with Sprite later in the episode. Don't tell me you don't drink. Just stop lying.

Right? Why did they have their wedding anniversary on his birthday? Why did they get married on his birthday? That feels strange.

[Courtney]

So it'd be all about him.

[Mary]

It's my birthday. As he's doing push ups against the kitchen counter, he's like, nia, it's a great day to have a great day. When are we having birthday sex? I felt so uncomfortable. I could not get over this. He multiple three times tried to have birthday sex. What was like, so are we going to do it before the boat or after the boat? Are we going to do it when we get home? And she's like, you know, she's in the room. I'm not going to do that. And he's like, it's my birthday. He was upset and crying in his confessional at the end because he didn't have birthday sex. It was crazy. Also that last shot of him at the end sitting alone at the bar and he couldn't touch the floor. He's on the bar stool alone looking at the cameras. I'm sure he was like, to the camera guy, put down the cameras, let's have a shot. Let's have a shot. Like trying to convince them to drink. And he's just sitting there alone and his feet are dangling. They were.

[Courtney]

We know he can't help his height. That's genetics. But if anyone deserves that, it's him. It's him with his dangly little feet because he's just throwing a little kid's tantrum. Also, the fact that his wife gentle parents him is insane. Like, she really does have five under five to watch. The way that she feels the need to try to de escalate a situation where she's just escalating it. Like literally what she should be doing is being like, danny, it's your birthday. They're gonna make us look like the villains do this shit. Let's go inside. We could probably grab a lot of the group. I mean, Jesse, you gotta go through Jesse to get Danny. Dork. Lala being like, oh, I have to go through you make Lala, you're making me giggle because. Shut up, Jesse. Why is Danny the one that you're going to do that? Then when Nia started to be in front of Danny too, so lala couldn't see Danny, I was like, this is crazy, Mia. Danny, just leave this party, go inside, grab your followers, they'll all come. And then let the girls sit outside by themselves. If you have so much confidence in this group to back you guys up, then you should be able to leave and not find yourself in this situation yet for some reason, you guys are such the victim in this, which I am over talking about this constantly, constantly, constantly.

[Mary]

But she kind of brings it back up over and over and over and over again. He is talking about I make people feel uncomfortable. Well, actually you are making everyone feel uncomfortable right now with your talking about it like, like that. Is it because we don't know what you're gonna say next.

[Courtney]

But your wife perpetuated this. Your wife is the one that told you that people were uncomfortable with the way that you grind your hips and twist and shout. Nobody said that. Your wife said that. And that got you activated. Now if she said it jokingly or said it because she said just don't do it so people can't say they're uncomfortable, then that's one thing. But your wife is the one that set you off in this situation to make everybody upset.

[Mary]

It was a crazy ass episode. Let's start. Because they wake up the next morning and Brittany is like, I was so sore I didn't put on my compressions. And they're like, we tried to help you into your bra. We did get that on. I am sorry. You just had this major surgery and you got wasted. Aren't taking care of yourself going on pizza?

[Courtney]

I was like, we just got the lipo and we're chowing drunkenly on pizza. Watching that scene, I was like, you can only lead a horse to water. You can't make them drink. She will drink alcohol well.

[Mary]

And she couldn't go on the boat the next day because she gets very bad hangovers. And she would definitely puke on the boat.

[Courtney]

Well, there's probably a bag of puke on the balcony. Remember when she used to leave puke bags outside of the garage? So there's probably a puke bag on the balcony. I didn't even realize she wasn't on the boat until they flash back to them getting ready. And I was like, oh, that can't be a good sign when I don't realize. Except that there's also 40 cast members on this show too.

[Mary]

Right? Well, everyone was so hungover for this boat ride. As soon as they're taking the vans over, Danny's like, who has a seltzer for me? Like, he couldn't bring the seltzer himself because of Nia or something.

[Courtney]

Oh, like a white claw. He only drinks White Claws.

[Mary]

Well, probably I felt like that's why Jesse had to drink the beer because Lacy's like, no hard alcohol. And probably a very similar situation for him during the day. It's like only seltzers.

[Courtney]

Why is she with him?

[Mary]

Lacy?

[Courtney]

Why is Lacy with Jesse? Okay.

[Mary]

The amount of brain space that has taken up for me. I think about Jesse and Lacy way too much because I cannot figure it out because Jesse completely has changed for her. He feels like a good man around her, but his finances bought the island they went to.

[Courtney]

That's why he's poor.

[Mary]

I know obviously she is not with him for the money. So then we have to think, is she with him to be on the show? But then I'm like, that takes so much effort. Like, you are going to be with this person for months and months and months when you don't even film. So I have to think she genuinely likes him. I actually Think he is a good boyfriend to her. And I think Michelle sees that, and it's very challenging for her because everything she wanted from Jesse, he is giving to Lacy. They always say the second time around, they do a better job.

[Courtney]

Of course.

[Mary]

Yeah.

[Courtney]

Yeah.

[Mary]

I don't think they're ever, ever gonna get married.

[Courtney]

I mean, Mary, why did Brittany get with Jax? Why did James get with Kristen? Why did Raquel get with James? Why did Ally get with James? These people want to be on a show. They find a way in, and then they make it on their own. Hopefully, that's the goal, and then they become a star in their own right.

[Mary]

So I really like Lacy, and I wanna believe that they're together for the right reasons, but I definitely question it.

[Courtney]

I think Jesse for Lacy is Mr. Right now. As you said, she'll never get married to him. I think she will always be like, I will live in Orange County. You will live in la.

[Mary]

Maybe she likes that distance. Yeah.

[Courtney]

I think she likes the arms. Like, it's. He's like a play toy for her in a way.

[Mary]

I'm very fascinated.

[Courtney]

I think she also finances a lot of the things that they do. Like, I think when he rented that Aston Martin to show up to the 007 party and pulled into the driveway and everyone was inside, so nobody got to see it, and that she rented that so that they would look cool coming to the party. But again, nobody saw it.

[Mary]

I wonder when the last time he sold a house was.

[Courtney]

Great question.

[Mary]

I did really like Lacey and Michelle's sit down, and Tom Schwartz had a front seat to it. He was on the ground taking a nap, listening.

[Courtney]

So nobody has drama mean on this, by the way, because besides feeling, like, hungover, they're also feeling, like, the sickness from the boat. And I'm thinking, like, not one person brought drama mean. You do have to give it up for the people who got on the boat hungover. Because, like. Like, I couldn't have done it. Like, Tom, when. I will come back to this conversation one second. But when Tom was laying there and then Luke came to go lay on him, and then Kristen was like, tom, go downstairs. You could tell he was like, I was here first, man. Like. And then when they pulled up to the island, too, is some of them took the boat into the island, like, the mini boat. And then some of them jumped over and swam. And Tom jumped over to swim, because I think he was like, maybe the fresh water will really help me. Of course, here comes Danny. Let's go. Jumping all over him. And I Could just tell that Tom was like, just drown me. Just drown me at this point, like, it's not gonna get better. I'm just trying to do anything right now to help this situation.

[Mary]

It's like, come on, you're in Mexico. Go to the pharmacy and get some Zofran. Be normal. Let's go back to Michelle and Lacy. I thought this was a great conversation. Lacy, I don't know if she's completely fooling me, but she really feels like a girl's girl, if you ask me.

[Courtney]

I think she wants to make more friends with Michelle than she wants to be with Jesse.

[Mary]

I know she's totally fooling me, you guys. I know she is. I have a soft place in my heart for Lacy.

[Courtney]

I do.

[Mary]

I think she's funny. I think she adds comic relief. I think she's a mediator. She's bringing people together, and I love that they had this vulnerable conversation, and they seem like they're gonna be just fine. At the end of the day, we need to be on a united front for Isabella, and we can be. I'm happy for them.

[Courtney]

Yeah. I think they've moved past Yamashiro, and I think that they're in a different spot now. I like that Lacy holds Jesse accountable. I like Lacy. I just can't figure out why she's with Jesse. There was also the thing where she like, and we can talk about that, too, is Jesse and Kristen have a conversation. Then he tells Lacy. She's like, so you thought that was a good idea to tell Kristen that Luke doesn't want to marry her? And she makes this joke where she goes, this group messes with my central nervous system so much. She's like, what the.

Why would you do that?

[Courtney]

Kristen's like, are you gonna propose to Lacey? And he's like, God, no. Because he knows she would say no.

This is what the funniest part about these shows, this in the city, Summer house, etc, they involve themselves so much in each other's relationships. It's like, stop, don't stop for the viewers.

[Mary]

Right, right, stop. I guess they just have to. But Kristen's like, this is all just temporary. I'm seeing a psychiatrist. I see my therapist. I'm so scared he's gonna abandon me. I don't even know who the I am anymore. She's four months in. And then I started thinking too. What did Luke do before he became a reality TV star? What was his job?

[Courtney]

Shop. Doesn't have like a weed farm in Colorado.

[Mary]

Okay. Because I, I just keep on thinking about that Kristen and Luke, they're spending so much time together all the time. They're both in the house and they're, they're both taking care of the baby. And I think that is what's really going on in terms of like, they're both in charge of taking care of the baby. And you have to tell each other like, okay, like I like to do it in shifts. I'm like, you're the morning shift, I'm the afternoon shift. Or we're gonna do both do this together right now. You have to really communicate. Otherwise you feel like, oh, I'm doing everything or, or you feel there's, you really do have to communicate.

[Courtney]

I think communication is huge. I also keep having to remind ourselves too is like they are four months. They were three months. Like the pressure of having to film this show two, three months postpartum is insane. You have the, the show. You've got to make sure you keep your job. I do think that Kristen is mean to Luke. I think she just says things because she's just, she's communicating, but not the right things to be communicating where she's like, you're going to do this. And her fear of abandonment, as she mentioned, actually really propels her to say every thought on her mind. Because she wants to self sabotage too. Because she's done that since we've met her. Season one, episode one. She has been a self sabotager. And so if Luke leaves, then in her mind she's like, I knew it. I knew he was going to leave me. I'm glad they're in a better place now is what it seems like. But I also have to be like, luke, Luke, you're four months. Like, you can't go fishing. Shut up. You can't just understand, hey, maybe I just need to give her space. Or maybe he can say, hey, Kristen, I know you don't want to leave the house. Why don't you just go into the other room? Why don't you go work on James May? They don't have any hobbies right now outside of taking care of the baby. Or as you said, like, a job where maybe takes them out of the house for two hours. Obviously, the Valley, I understand that, but it's like the quote unquote normal. They don't have that. And so they're just on top of each other.

[Mary]

I bet they get into, like, fights about, well, I put away all the dishes, I'm putting away all the clothes. Because right now they're at the point where someone has to watch the baby the entire time. So the other person has to maybe do all the chores and the errands. And I think you have to switch off with that stuff.

[Courtney]

But then it's also tough because Kristen has this postpartum anxiety where she doesn't want to leave the house. But then she's, like, getting mad at Luke because he does leave the house,

[Mary]

because she has to stay home and watch the baby when he leaves the house.

[Courtney]

Well, right, but somebody's got to run the errands.

[Mary]

But is he running the errands or is he partying?

[Courtney]

He's like, you get so upset when I come back at 3:00am it's like, well, yeah, because also, the bars close out, too. What are you doing to three? And like, yeah, I'd like you to sleep in the bed with me, and you're sleeping on the couch. I also think, too, I think sometimes he likes to poke her.

[Jack Myers]

Oh,

[Courtney]

sometimes I think he wants to take his frustration out. So he says something. You really have to be careful with what you say out loud. We've said this, like, once the toothpaste is out of the tube, like, you can't put it back in. So you have to be really careful. When he said, like, I think you like me being as miserable as you.

[Mary]

To me, it was the, I wouldn't get married tomorrow. Oh. And that could be misinterpreted. And I get what he was saying. He was like, we're in such a bad place. You think we should get married? Like, absolutely not. We have a lot to work on right now.

[Courtney]

But I think what Kristen wants is for him to say, but it's temporary. So Like, I understand. Like, of course I'd marry you tomorrow. Because I know that this isn't going to be what it's like in a month or in too much. Like, I see both sides of it, but I'm like, honestly, I just think that they're a mismatch much.

[Mary]

I. God, you know, they're together in real time.

[Courtney]

I hope it works out for them. I really do. I really.

[Mary]

When they are back in the hotel room and Luke is like, can you hear me? And she's just not responding and he realizes she can't hear him. And then they get into that fight and then like, Kaya, quote, unquote, saves the bell, if you will, because she starts crying. I was just like, oh, my God, I don't wish anyone to be in this situation.

[Courtney]

Kristin is scary because there's nothing worse than getting the silent treatment from someone. Because, you know, it's not gonna be silent soon. It's gonna be silent right now because it's building up to when it's gonna be loud. And I just think Kristen will fester and then she will blow up and she will say some shit. But thank God that Janet's on this trip because they could just take it out on her instead.

[Mary]

We have to give props to Janet. She shared a very important story with Lala by the pool, and it gave us a little bit of a background to where she's coming with the Danny stuff.

[Courtney]

Well, we were wondering last week, like, okay, it obviously is more to the story than what we've heard. And so then when we saw that scene, I was like, okay, I think she's gonna open up to Lala. I think it's very brave to share that on tv, especially because with how viewers feel about her, I just hope that people are understanding and nice to her because it's very much more common than I think people talk about. Because people don't want to share their stories because they don't know people are going to believe them in this whole thing. I thought when she shared that story, I was like, this makes so much more sense. Now I see where she's coming from and I can tell why she doesn't want to be around him. And I also think it's like, I don't want to have to share this now. They're all going to see it, obviously, because she shared it on the show. And I wonder if they address it at the reunion. Like, you've seen these episodes. Does it change how you feel? But it was like one of those things where I was like, yeah, I don't think I would want to be around that either.

[Mary]

I'm glad she shared that story. Yeah.

[Courtney]

When I think it shows a vulnerable side of Janet, too. And obviously, like, Mia and Dani. And like, a lot of the cast don't know what they don't know.

[Mary]

Right.

[Courtney]

Like, she shared this with Lala. The group doesn't know. Michelle doesn't even know because Michelle says, just go apologize to him for saying what you said. And at this point, she's like, I've already talked about my story with Lala. I don't want to have to deal with this again.

[Mary]

Also, Lala did such a great job just listening and letting her tell the story. I feel like Lala is such a

[Courtney]

great friend when she wants to be. And then as soon as you do something to piss her off, you're out. If you're not in her pod, you're gone.

[Mary]

Right. Well, I still owe her that thank you note. Handwritten letter.

[Courtney]

Let's talk about Danny's birthday. So Tom Schwartz, in solidarity with Zach, wears a head brace as well.

[Courtney]

That was really nice of him, Zach bumping his head on the boat on the same place that he was hit in the head. I was like, this poor man literally probably shouldn't be drinking because he for sure has a concussion. Was he drinking?

[Mary]

I hope he wasn't.

[Courtney]

He was drinking the night before. They literally greeted him at the club with a drink.

[Mary]

Oh, I thought he stopped drinking.

[Courtney]

Am I missing this? I'm pretty sure he was drinking.

[Mary]

I hope not. That. That's crazy.

[Courtney]

Then they flash to this scene of when they're all getting food from the buffet, and after the pizza, they have to clip the scene of Britney where she goes, oh, salad, great. Y' all don't have any ranch. You guys are so mean.

[Mary]

You editors. They are. They are. He wanted to point that out to us. I know. Wrong.

[Courtney]

And it may be uncomfortable.

[Mary]

Yeah, it's wrong. It's wrong. Okay, so then Danny has a buzz and is like, michelle, I hear I'm making people uncomfortable. And Michelle was like, yeah, and don't drink in front of us. And this would all probably go away. And then Nia starts to see them talking and has to come up, and she's just like, okay, yeah, now, Daniel, leave it, Leave it. Say everything's okay. She's talking about two years ago. Like, that. This is it. This is like, she's just, like, on his shoulder trying to control him. And Michelle's not trying to get into a fight with him. She's just relaying the information. And he's like, well, Janet owes me an apology, and the conversation's really going to go nowhere.

[Courtney]

Well. And Michelle's like, look, I am, like, cool with you guys. I am friends with everyone. I want you to know what's being said and then how it could be fixed. And she's like, janet also, like, hasn't been talking to you. Mind you, though, in the beginning of this episode. So Danny says, oh, I don't want Janet coming on the boat. You didn't invite her, right, Nia? Then he is like, oh, she'll probably say she doesn't want to come on the boat, which is exactly what she does. I do think that Janet should have gone on the boat, to be fair. I think it's like, they should have all gone on the boat.

[Mary]

I'm okay with her not going.

[Courtney]

I feel like you can't keep skipping on these cast events or, like, walking away from it. I guess I'm just so sick of Danny having power. Yeah, exactly. And then he mentions it when they're here. Oh, the girls are here. Oh, great. Janet's here. It's like, Danny can't. Can't stop talking about her completely.

[Mary]

He's the one that keeps on putting

[Courtney]

fuel to the fire.

[Mary]

And then he's like, I'm just trying to have a good time on my birthday. And he's starting to slur his words. And, like, this is what people are talking about. Because when you drink, you get activated and you slur your words and people don't know what you're gonna do next. And that's the whole issue. You're the one that perpetuated the fight.

[Jack Myers]

Yeah.

[Courtney]

It's like, you don't get called Danny Darko because you're fun.

[Mary]

And then when Zach confronted Nia, and then, like, Kristen comes in and Britney and Jasmine.

[Courtney]

Kristen is so embarrassing here. I'm sorry, what the. Kristen, when you went to Janet, you're like, oh, I didn't put into dress. Like, are you five?

[Mary]

Don't talk about your friends the way you do.

[Courtney]

I was with Janet when she's like, are you kidding me? Like, we're adults here. You're going to talk to me like, Kristen, that's so embarrassing. You are embarrassing yourself defending this little weasel.

[Mary]

But also, Nia was totally trying to downplay that lunch. Yep. She's like, janet takes one piece and then twists it. It's like, no, no, no. They Flashback. Kristen said that you guys all need to stop drinking. Britney, Zach, and Jasmine. And that's what was said. And you guys are trying to get out of that. But that's what was said.

[Courtney]

Oh, yeah. And then Chris is like, does that sound like something I would say? Yeah, it does, Kristen, because that's exactly what you said. And then Nia, when you were two, Kristen and Zach, Zach who was there. And you tell Britney, I've never said anything bad about you. And then they flashback to the scene where she says, Britney drinks way too much, so pretend amnesia is there. That's fine. But you will need to answer to that at the reunion. You can see Zach is like, oh, God. I don't like, know where the line is because I'm Switzerland, but I'm on Danny's side because I want the group to get along. But he's like, babe, you're lying, right? What do you think the God thinks about that?

[Mary]

That Zach, it felt like he tries to confront this situation and talk about it, but then he, like, runs away because like you said, he's like, oh, I don't really want to be in a fight with anyone.

[Courtney]

Well, and I think he's also like, why are you calling me out? Also, by the way, these situations are not the same. Because when I get drunk, though, Zach does yell a lot. But it's like, but when I get drunk, I'm not being inappropriate. When I get drunk, the same things that Danny's doing, I'm not doing. You know, even Michelle says, Gussie's the same person. He is sober as he is drunk. And I wanted to say, is that asshole sober and drunk. What Nia's not understanding here is I do think that these people drink excessive amount of alcohol. I think that's all she's trying to say. Everyone drinks as much as Dany does, but she doesn't want to actually confront what the behavior is when they're drinking.

[Mary]

Yes, completely, completely agree. And then Danny is off eating his birthday dinner with his mouth open and he keeps on saying, uncomfortable, uncomfortable. And then Lala walks up and, oh, God, thank God for her because she's just like, dude, this is crazy. And Jesse defending you is even crazier. It was so laughable.

[Courtney]

Lala says something and Danny says no. And Lala says, do not talk to me that way. And Danny backs down. Danny does not know how to handle Lala because he doesn't know what to do with a type A. And I mean that complimentary because he has so passive. And as soon as he raises his voice, she backs down. He doesn't know what to do when someone stands up to him in this regard. So as soon as she said, do not talk to me other way, he's like, I said it, like, just, like, to the group, not to a specific person. Like, I just said, like, no. But she's like, I'm not your wife. Do not talk to me that way. And then Nia comes up.

[Mary]

Nia constantly trying to save him. Listen to me, my love. Listen to me. Walk away.

[Courtney]

Walk away.

[Mary]

Don't engage. Look at me, Daniel. Stop being antagonizing. Walk away with me, please.

[Courtney]

Listen to your wife. Listen to your wife. Nia's voice is actually driving me insane. And the way that she was bent over so her face was in front of his to block the entire group being like, don't listen to them. Listen to your wife. Listen to your wife. Like, this is actually insane. This gentle parenting is crazy. She grabs his bowl of food to make him leave and stand somewhere else to go eat.

[Mary]

That was. That was like a chilling moment where they are at the. That standup table together. And he's like, chill, dude. Don't talk to me like that right now. Don't try to heighten me right now. I was like, this is disgusting. I just do not like the way he talks to her. It is really hard to watch because I know it's way worse. Off camera.

[Courtney]

Lala also tries to, like, calmly talk to him and to Jesse, and she accidentally calls Jesse Danny. And she's like, whatever, you're one in the same. He goes, well, you too. And I. I'm like, so who Lala and who. Who are you comparing? Because they start doing this, what about ism? And they're like, lala's deflecting so that she could talk about you. I'm like, the conversations about Daniel. I can't believe I just called him that. This is Danny. Okay, sorry. I hope that didn't make you guys uncomfortable, but Lala's talking and she's like, trying to say, danny, sometimes you drink and you're fun, and then sometimes we don't know what's happening. And it's inappropriate coming from, like, a sober person in that regard, too, who's already had a conversation with Danny where she's like, I am not judging you. I think sometimes when you Dr. It goes too far. Remember in San Diego, she has that convo with him, and then she's like, saying it here again. She's like, I've been sober for seven years. Like, I've worked a program. And he scoffs at her when he's getting pulled away on his leash by Nia. She's actually not saying anything that's out of line right now. You just don't want to listen to it. And to be fair, I would not want to spend my birthday this way. And my ten year wedding anniversary.

[Mary]

Oh my gosh. Nia is just like, she is on a mission that la la. And then Daniel's just like, I need another drink. And Nia's like, you do not need another drink, you need some water. And we need to go to bed. I have to be up at 6am and he goes off and he orders the drink. And then we have the scene with the three of them. Lala, then Nia in the middle and

[Courtney]

Danny and, and Laa's like, I don't understand. You get pulled away. So now we can't even have a conversation to finish it because as we know she's looking to have resolution. Let's move on from this. And he is like, well since I pulled him away, you can have the combo with me. She's like, the combo's not with you though. What are you talking about? And she's like trying to like lean over her. And Nia's cutting the line so it's still only her in the sight line. This is actually insane behavior.

[Mary]

And Lala calls it out. You are so worried about what he is going to say. You are protecting him. And the darkness always comes to the light. That's the thing. I feel like we're, this is like so foreshadowing. I think that we're going to know a lot more about him in a couple years.

[Courtney]

Nia starts like taking him away like we're going upstairs and she's like, you're going to stay with these terrible people on your birthday. And Britney's like, wait, who's terrible? Because they're all like, wait, what's happening? We're the terrible people. We're your castmates. And then she leaves and Kristen's like, oh my God, I've got to go follow her. She said, nia, Nia, it's me, Kristen. Kristen and Luke. Nia. Nia. I'm like, she has two eyes, you weirdo.

[Mary]

But Courtney, she's dysregulated. She can't stop the situation. And you know, the problem is Janet. Okay? That is the problem. I just, I need a shower. I gotta be up at 6am My baby's on my boobs.

[Courtney]

But I did feel a little Bad for Nia because when she said that, I was like, oh, my God. She's also four months postpartum and we're so focused on Kristen and how she's handling it is Nia's like, once I start, I can't stop. And I think about the season one when and Jack's pants, Danny, and the breakdown that Nia had because she was so, so new mom that she was like, I couldn't stop myself because once I like, opened the floodgates of how upset I was, it just like all came out. And I see that for her and I, I feel bad for her in a sense. But I'm also like, Mia, you just gotta walk away, do things behind closed doors. If Danny is gonna do this, just send him a reminder and then let him go on his own. Let his feet dangle in that tall bar stool. Let him enjoy his tequila Sprite and have the combo in the morning because. Because it's not worth it for you. He's going to do whatever the he wants to do because he's the alpha male and whatever you say doesn't matter.

[Mary]

Yeah, Yeah. I like what Lala said about him. The misogynistic small little Peter pocket Zach

[Courtney]

having to turn be like, I shouldn't laugh at that. And then when Nia goes up to her room though, and she's, you know, she's so upset, she looks at the babysitter, she's says, just pray for me.

[Mary]

It's so intense.

[Courtney]

Well, and then Jasmine steps in too and she's like, and this is the, that I'm talking about when I. We were saying inappropriate. I don't like the way he speaks to women. I don't like his approach. Like, that's what I was trying to tell him at the 007 parties. It's like, this is what happens with your drinking when you get activated. You are making people uncomfortable and you are unpredictable. I don't. Don't like it.

[Mary]

Yeah, that's the perfect summary.

[Courtney]

And I can't wait to watch the after show because I wonder if they address this and if they address it, it's going to be very much like people had been drinking. I was just trying to enjoy my birthday. I got attacked.

[Mary]

Yeah, they have to save it for the reunion. But this was a crazy episode. The best birthday ever. And next week we have Jasmine wedding dress shopping. We have the engagement party. Looks like we have a girl dinner. I'm also like, how many more episodes are left?

[Courtney]
