Teddy Mellencamp
Hi, guys. Welcome to another episode of Twats Flashback with Teddy Mellencamp.
Tamra Judge
Hammer Judge Tam.
Teddy Mellencamp
I. I have a question for you. Before we even get into episode five and six, I would say the majority of this episode was watching, well, children or watching Vicki try to house a dog. Train her freaking dog.
Tamra Judge
I know it wasn't exciting. I mean, the show should have been called the Real kids of Orange County. It. And honestly, around season three, there was talk because there were so many young, like, teenagers on the show. There was talk about doing the Real Kids of Orange county. Like, it was legit about to happen. And then it fell through.
Teddy Mellencamp
And I know we're just. I don't even remember which episode this was in, but I. I was shocked to see that they could film or that they would film underage kids drinking.
Tamra Judge
I know. Well, I mean, the amount of slurs that were in these two episodes, like, I am actually shocked that Bravo doesn't go back and clean them up because they're bad.
Teddy Mellencamp
It's. I mean, I know it's a different time, but the stuff that they're saying, you're like, holy crap. Like, it's just. Either way, the air date was February 13, 2007. Stranger in your house is the first episode, which is episode five. So synopsis. Slade is very generous to Joe on her birthday. Lori and George take the family to Hawaii, and Shane invites a girl he met on the Internet to stay at the house for a few days.
Tamra Judge
That's not crazy.
Teddy Mellencamp
Okay, so Shane says Gina wants him to marry this Canadian girl, Lindsay, that he met online. She was Miss Ontario South. Shane shares that she can't eat normal food. Gina thinks it's bizarre that she can't eat. Okay, she can't eat because she just got her tonsils and adenoids.
Tamra Judge
I had her for a week, but I'm pretty sure after a week, you can start eating food, like mashed potatoes or whatever. Like, I mean, it's just weird. She doesn't eat. She only just drinks smoothies. I'm, like, not buying that one.
Teddy Mellencamp
But also, the entire thing was so uncomfortable. Even her arriving. I don't know that I would just be like, come on into our house.
Tamra Judge
And that's how Gina was, though, with everything with her kids. Like, oh, sure, do that, do that. I'm like, what?
Teddy Mellencamp
Well, it really helped Shane because Shane is a real dream boat. This both episodes I know such an. Like, if I was that girl, I'd rather zip on back to the pageant world in Canada and get the F out of he's. Why do you think.
Tamra Judge
Why do you think that she was there? Do you think that she saw the show, reached out to him and thought, oh, a pageant girl. I'm gonna try to get on tv?
Teddy Mellencamp
I think she probably thought he was handsome on the first season. He wasn't quite as douche lordy. I mean, he. You could tell he was a douche lord, but not, like, to this capacity. And I think they probably just started, like, messaging on MySpace or friends.
Tamra Judge
I know it was MySpace. That's it. I remember them saying that. I'm like, MySpace.
Teddy Mellencamp
But I, I, I, I really. It's a lot. It's a lot. I also forget the time even though we all had it, where, like, we all hair like this because. And then, like, poof, it way up and.
Tamra Judge
But that was. That was, I think, late 80s. I don't think it was in the early 90s. I mean, this is in 2007, 2006.
Teddy Mellencamp
I mean, I guess I didn't have extensions as a teenager, so I don't really know, but.
Tamra Judge
Oh, I used to tease or get pictures. Do you have pictures of your hair all teased up?
Teddy Mellencamp
Well, I have the scared hair. Bang.
Tamra Judge
Oh, yeah.
Teddy Mellencamp
It's like the.
Tamra Judge
They're plastered with Aquanet.
Teddy Mellencamp
Oh, yeah. Well, you will only perm your bangs.
Tamra Judge
Oh, I permed all my hair.
Teddy Mellencamp
And then this part was straight, and then this part hot.
Tamra Judge
I know.
Teddy Mellencamp
And to think I peaked in the eighth grade is a real, real doozy. But then we go to Joe. Have we seen Gavin before this episode?
Tamra Judge
I'm not sure. He might. No, I don't know. I really don't.
Teddy Mellencamp
Because all of a sudden, he's in the beginning credits. Joe and Gavin love playing guitar together. This was a sweet moment until Slade stepped in and made longer. Sweet mom. They're working on songs for her demo. Joe has always dreamed of being a singer. Joe has been telling Slade she wants an acoustic guitar for her birthday. So they went and picked out a guitar. Not acoustic, but I love that.
Tamra Judge
He said, well, that's what you learn on. I'm like, you learn on an electric guitar, don't you? Isn't the opposite you learn on acoustic? Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't know.
Teddy Mellencamp
I can say when Cruz. I mean, Cruz has already quit his long journey of guitar lessons. But they did. His was an electric. Like, they brought, like, an electric guitar. I. I don't know, but I think you could. If that's the case, you could have led with that, like, before just surprising her to, like, step down.
Tamra Judge
Just get her what she wants. She asked for an acoustic guitar. Get her what she wants instead of those borrowed diamonds that he brought Barbara Parker into. Because Barbara Parker was there lending us diamonds and jewelry in season three, so he didn't buy her anything.
Teddy Mellencamp
Well, if I was all Barb, I would be really concerned with loaning her the diamonds as well. When I saw them all about to push each other into the pool and that long. I, like, I've lost a fanny pack when it was attached to my actual body. That long necklace that, like, could fall over her head. Like, I was like, I wonder if those jewels made it home. But it. It was all kind of a hot mess. The entire birthday set up. But I'm also confused because last episode, didn't we see him saying, you don't belong here.
Tamra Judge
I know. And then all of a sudden, she's back and they're. It's so weird.
Teddy Mellencamp
And he's planning ragers for, like.
Tamra Judge
But isn't it pretty telling? She's like, oh, it's my birthday. Seal it. Peace out. Thanks for the presents. Thanks for the borrowed jewels. I'm going to LA and a party bus with my friends. Not invited. And then to see him at a restaurant with, I swear, that girl that's sitting next to him.
Teddy Mellencamp
She looks familiar to me.
Tamra Judge
She looks familiar. And she comes up in the season. I think she somehow. She comes up in the season, if I'm not mistaken.
Teddy Mellencamp
Because I'm sure they started.
Tamra Judge
Janice, right? Janice was.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah. I'm sure they started, like, exchanging text messages like she was hot. I'm sure he started reaching out to her. I mean, I. At this point, I've got to.
Tamra Judge
I mean, every time he smiles with those teeth, it just gives me the creeps.
Teddy Mellencamp
I don't even know. I can't even. I don't even look that closely. But I do think at this point, they're not even together. They're just budgeting. Oh, they're just pretending they're coming and giving us a show. But all.
Tamra Judge
Well, that's the problem. It looks like they're acting. It gives, you know, Spencer and Heidi vibes, like, a thousand percent.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah, it's. But those two are actually still together and.
Tamra Judge
Yeah, but you remember on the Hills in the early days how they always, like, they were acting. And I feel like that's exactly what it looks like. And, you know, it's short. Short Term. Because I don't believe she's on next season.
Teddy Mellencamp
But he is with Gretchen.
Tamra Judge
I don't remember. No, no. I think that maybe Pearl Slade had to. Oh, she's on a bit next season. But I think he had to take some time off until he reeled in another housewife.
Teddy Mellencamp
Well, I bet she's probably moved to la. Who knows? But then Vicki and Briana talk about her plans after graduation. Briana wants more time for herself after watching her mom work so much. Vicki says Brianna is clueless about how much you have to get the things that they have.
Tamra Judge
I don't think Brianna's clueless. I think Brianna's smart. She's a very smart girl. And she's not trying to live without her, beyond her means. And try to keep up with the Joneses. I mean, that's why she lives in Oklahoma on a farm, you know, has her four kids. She's not. She's a nurse. She's not concerned with being the Riches and having Botox and getting my boobs done and all that stuff. Yeah, Sounds like us.
Teddy Mellencamp
I'm like, you mean me?
Tamra Judge
Yeah, I know. I look down today and I'm like, should I get some boobs? I need some filler. And Eddie goes, no.
Teddy Mellencamp
Well, today at yoga, I was looking at mine, too. And mine, even though they're fake, all of a sudden they're a lot smaller.
Tamra Judge
And I'm thinner. You're thinner?
Teddy Mellencamp
And I'm like, what? I don't even see them. They're like, just too little. I'm like, good thing. But even when I go to get these replaced, I guess in another year when I'm supposed to, I'm not going to get bigger. I don't want big. I want. What is the saying? Big old titties. But they don't say big old titties. They say, like, shit, help me, Tam.
Tamra Judge
You're talking little t.
Teddy Mellencamp
Tickle bitties.
Tamra Judge
Tickle bitties. Oh, my God. I've never even heard that before. No, mine are, like, in between. Like, they're not flat, but they're not big. So I feel like they're. I'm like, do one or the other. Come on, you can do it.
Teddy Mellencamp
You have to wear a bra.
Tamra Judge
No, me neither. No, I had a lift. And they're nice and tight.
Teddy Mellencamp
Nice and tight. Then Tammy goes art shopping in Laguna beach with Duffy. Tammy explains the relationship and says they aren't currently together. Tammy said she started dating another guy a week ago, and he's really nice, but it's tough because her And Duff have a son. Lindsay called Tammy and said she hit someone. Tammy and Duff leave to go make sure she's okay. It was a minor ding, and they're glad she's all right. Do you think Duff was, like, a really nice guy, or was he, like, the original John Jansen?
Tamra Judge
No, Duff was a nice guy. He's a. I. I talked to him after he helped me with my backyard. He got into, like, landscaping design. So he was a little bit of a flirt.
Teddy Mellencamp
I was also confused because they keep talking about how Tammy's husband ran out of money, but now her daughter has this brand new car.
Tamra Judge
Yeah, I think, like, he ran out of money, like, back in the day when they got divorced. He lost his millions, but I don't think he was by any means broke.
Teddy Mellencamp
Okay. And then Lou and Lindsey go buy Lindsay a new car. Lindsay gets a white BMW, and Tammy says, Lindsey's car is nicer than hers. Tammy said she would have gotten her new car. The. I mean, all of this is. It's complete.
Tamra Judge
I know, but that's how the show was back then. There was so much about the kids. It was all about just your life. I mean, in what world today would Laurie be going on two vacations back to back without any other cast member and camera there? They went to Hawaii. They went to. Where else did they go? It was the last parachute. Oh, yeah.
Teddy Mellencamp
They got engaged. They were.
Tamra Judge
Yeah.
Teddy Mellencamp
And was there a crew on that boat or that sailboat when they were, like, gonna crash? It looked like it was frightening. Or I, I, I have to wonder if maybe they just send one person with a camera they could have back then.
Tamra Judge
They would send one person with a handheld. I feel like maybe two, but I.
Teddy Mellencamp
Feel like that's gotta have been what it was. But then we get to the barbecue where Duff is there, and Tammy says she doesn't feel comfortable. But I'm like, you were just at lunch with Duff and then having this awkward kissing, hugging thing.
Tamra Judge
Well, it made me think, like, there must have been some time in between that. Like, something obviously happened, or Tammy was going to bring a boyfriend, or Tammy got serious because it didn't make any sense. We saw them hugging in the art gallery, and all of a sudden, get him out, Gina. Get him out. I cannot be in the same room with him.
Teddy Mellencamp
And then she, like, strolls in with their son. I'm like, something's off.
Tamra Judge
But you know what was off? Shankio. Yes. What do you say? Something about tits or something.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah. Well, he was so rude to her, and he kept Saying shut up tits. But he was being kind of rude to everyone. But also if your son was calling.
Tamra Judge
Me tits, my son wouldn't.
Teddy Mellencamp
Or vice versa, like wouldn't. My son would then no longer have a dinger because I would have chopped it off.
Tamra Judge
Yeah, I would have yanked it off. Yeah, that's disrespectful. And that just, that reflects on the parents obviously, because there's no way in hell my kids would say something like that without getting backhanded. They just wouldn't.
Teddy Mellencamp
But it's, this is what I also don't understand. Like I think every person has an asshole side to them, clearly. But Shane is an asshole to everyone across the board. It doesn't matter if it's the girl he flew in from Canada, if it's his sister, if it's his mom, if it's tits, like he's on them.
Tamra Judge
I mean, you'll see Ryan come in and he's not like, he's not disrespectful. Like he's, he's a, he's a little punk because he's like 18 year old kid or 19 at the time, but.
Teddy Mellencamp
So are you prepping me?
Tamra Judge
No, I'm just saying there's a difference. Just watch. Because he is so disrespectful to his mother, to his dad, to his siblings, everything.
Teddy Mellencamp
I think there's a difference between like my kids will, sometimes they'll be jerks because they, they're like, mom, don't film this or whatever. If I'm like, they have a school project and I'm trying to like film it, they're like, no, it's embarrassing. So they'll kind of act out in those moments. But Shane clearly wants to be on TV and he's old enough now to make those type of decisions. So I, I don't know.
Tamra Judge
Yeah, he's just, whatever. I'm sure he's grown up now, but hopefully.
Teddy Mellencamp
Well then Joe hopes she didn't hurt Slade's feelings after having a girls night on her birthday. Joe?
Tamra Judge
No Joe, not at all. He's over there like a little puppy. Can I go? Can I please go?
Teddy Mellencamp
Oh, you don't like any of the gifts that I got? You know, you told me you didn't want those gifts and you don't like them.
Tamra Judge
We're going to go to la. Okay, well I'm going to go to LA too, but I'm going to go with my friends and I'm going to try to flirt with this girl because you know what? On camera it's going to make me look like a stud.
Teddy Mellencamp
But do you think it also, like, Joe looks a little ungrateful at this point, or do you think he's.
Tamra Judge
Joe's like, listen, daddy Warbucks, thanks for the. But I am not emotionally tied to you at all.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah, I'm done. I'm. I. The fact that she'd rather make out with Shane than Slade is a bad statement.
Tamra Judge
Well, you can just tell. It just kind of looks like it was a fake relationship. And then, you know, talking to her on the podcast, you know, months ago, I want to believe, if I'm remembering correctly, she said that he was the love of her life.
Teddy Mellencamp
She did. But she. I think she said at the time.
Tamra Judge
She acted like she'd give two shits about him. Unless they're acting for tv. That's the thing that leads me to believe that this is a total act. Which doesn't surprise me, because when Gretchen Slade come on to the show, every one of their scenes are set up. They even talk about in the hundredth episode special, everything was set up. Everything was an act. Oh, you want. I'm gonna surprise you with a Rolls Royce. It was borrowed.
Teddy Mellencamp
My guess is Slade wants to control every aspect of any woman that he's with. Life. So he manufactures these faux scenes so that he can get that, like, quirky sound bite. But really, he just looks like an.
Tamra Judge
He would always talk about how he's an actor.
Teddy Mellencamp
Well, then they show the girls hitting the town in the limo. Slade goes out with his friends. Slade is tired of being responsible because he always is. Slade sat next to Janice and said, she's very cute and hot. I feel like I need to take a shower from just watching Slade or Joe. I know, because they're so over it.
Tamra Judge
You don't know.
Teddy Mellencamp
You.
Tamra Judge
You do know that Slade says to this day that Orange County Housewives cast around him.
Teddy Mellencamp
Oh, my.
Tamra Judge
He was just on hot mic and he said that, you know, the show was cast around maybe, and I think because he knew Scott Dunlap, who created the show. So I'm like, dude, it's not even about guys. It's about girls.
Teddy Mellencamp
And the only guy. I mean, we haven't even talked about another guy, really, other than. I guess we will this episode because George is doing all the things for Laurie and is. But he's doing it in a loving way. Like, it doesn't give me the ick. Like, the way Slade does. This next one is Studio Jewelry and Babies Season 2, Episode 6. Joe thinks about making a career in entertainment. Lori Contemplates having her own business. Tammy attempts to stop her daughter from having a party at her house. Lori and Duff are at the office. Lori says she would eventually like to get out of the insurance business. Lori says her and Duff just gossip all day and she told him about her wax. I don't know about you, but I'm not sitting around talking to my straight co workers about my wax.
Tamra Judge
I know. It's really weird. Now Lori working for Vicki comes up in season eight. Lori says she's never worked. She never worked for Vicki. Never worked for Vicki. So it was all fake, obviously, for the show. But. But Vicki says, I signed your paycheck. But Lori's saying, no, no, no, no, no, you didn't.
Teddy Mellencamp
Well, did Duff ever work for Vicki? Why is Duff everywhere? Duff? Because not only.
Tamra Judge
I think because Vicki at the time was trying to show how, you know, how big her insurance company was.
Teddy Mellencamp
Yeah. Or I mean, because Duff is intertwined with every single one of the women, but we don't even see all the women together. So I'm confused. I'm confused.
Tamra Judge
I know.
Teddy Mellencamp
Then Lori met with Lorelei to talk about starting their own jewelry business. Loved. They even knew product placement. Even back then, the jewelry business hasn't even started. And they have their shirt on with the name on the front.
Tamra Judge
I was like, well, Lorelei is in the show quite a bit, and I've met her quite a few times. Very sweet. Very, very sweet girl.
Teddy Mellencamp
I can tell you this. I bet during that time, those necklaces would have gone perfectly with a top from Baby or bb.
Tamra Judge
We would just do that again.
Teddy Mellencamp
But no, I've never actually known what it is. Is it or bb.
Tamra Judge
Bibi.
Teddy Mellencamp
Another Sheen.
Tamra Judge
Sheen situation where I used to buy all my clothes as bb. They weren't cheap at the time either. And I think BB's still around, but it's only online. But everything. Like, not everything, but I would say half their. Their products are have BB written across it, which was a cool thing with little rhinestones on there.
Teddy Mellencamp
Why did I say it the fancy way? Why was I like baby, baby, baby.
Tamra Judge
I don't know.
Teddy Mellencamp
Did you ever.
Tamra Judge
Was it. You were too young for Bibi?
Teddy Mellencamp
No, I was. Baby was like. I mean, I was like Baby Abercrombie and fetch.
Tamra Judge
Oh, God.
Teddy Mellencamp
Remember those?
Tamra Judge
Like, how is that store still in business? Abercrombie?
Teddy Mellencamp
I don't know. Especially. You got to watch that documentary that's, like, all about. I mean, they rebranded, but.
Tamra Judge
Well, they did now the. The one in Mission Bay Home.
Teddy Mellencamp
All.
Tamra Judge
They took the shutters off one window so you can see in, but their black shutters are still on the other. And the smell that pumps in the air vents is not as strong as it used to be, but it's still pretty bad. Everybody.
Teddy Mellencamp
You know that pump out smells at Disney as well.
Tamra Judge
I heard that.
Teddy Mellencamp
It's crazy to me.
Tamra Judge
I know.
Teddy Mellencamp
But I haven't been in an Abercrombie store in quite some time.
Tamra Judge
I would not even step foot in there.
Teddy Mellencamp
Well, sometimes you don't have a choice. It's like the fact that I feel like my kids always want to go into Brandy Melville.
Tamra Judge
Oh yeah. Yeah.
Teddy Mellencamp
For some overpriced sweatpants that will fit for two days. Because then they.
Tamra Judge
Well, you know, Brandy, they have one size fits all. So it is ridiculous. And I'm. And they get a lot of for it, but everything's one size fits all.
Teddy Mellencamp
Which.
Tamra Judge
You ever picked up pair of their jeans.
Teddy Mellencamp
No.
Tamra Judge
They're like this big.
Teddy Mellencamp
Well, and they're. They don't even care. They're like, you know what? We're making money for this.
Tamra Judge
Yeah.
Teddy Mellencamp
We're not even.
Tamra Judge
We.
Teddy Mellencamp
We're not going to be a place for everyone. We're going to be a place for a couple people. And it. I guess it does, it does pretty well. This just in from my social media manager does really well on ltk.
Tamra Judge
Yeah.
Teddy Mellencamp
I love a good statement necklace. I'm curious to see where this is.
Tamra Judge
I thought they were kind of cute for the time. For the time we used to wear those big giant. I mean the 2000s. We wore early 2000s, the big jewelry. Everything was overly gaudy and all.
Teddy Mellencamp
Well then we go into the recording studio. Grammy award winning artist and producer and rapper Wang go to Joe's house to work on her music. They tell her she has a great voice. Does Joe actually have a single that has been released?
Tamra Judge
Well, I will tell you this early 2000, her and Lady Gaga and Cyndi Lauper were openers at a concert in New York.
Teddy Mellencamp
Oh, she has a full album. We can add. We can add Joe's one of Joe's songs to our Housewives cover album that we're gonna do.
Tamra Judge
Yeah. So they were at the House of Blues. I don't know who they opened for, but yeah, she was opener with Lady Gaga. Obviously. Lady Gaga took off.
Teddy Mellencamp
I'm deceased. Guess what. The album name was scripted.
Tamra Judge
Oh, shocker.
Teddy Mellencamp
But OC Definitely started with like housewives tropes, singing career, jewelry line, Thirsty men who want to be housewives.
Tamra Judge
I mean they're coming in hot.
Teddy Mellencamp
Then Lori is Surprised as she goes to, goes outside and finds a brand new car from George. Vicki says she is jealous of Laurie getting everything handed to her. When is Vicki green eyed Gumbelson not jealous?
Tamra Judge
Well, I will tell you, she was so insanely jealous. I think I even heard about this on third season. About how Lori gets everything handed. I don't know. That's just her nature. She's just a very jealous person.
Teddy Mellencamp
Them. It's very weird to me. Like I, if you got, if somebody gave you whether you've always had to work or not, I still don't have that like chip in me where I'm like, okay. Oh, that really infuriates. She's not ever.
Tamra Judge
It just proves she's never happy for anybody else. Instead of being, yes, you know, you went through, you got divorced, you're having problems with your son, you met a great guy. I mean it's like she met a douche. She met a great guy and he's taking care of her like good for her.
Teddy Mellencamp
And she seems like a nice person.
Tamra Judge
And she's 45 years old. You know, they got married, they're still married. But to just not be happy for somebody is in Vicki's nature. I think we all see that.
Teddy Mellencamp
Well, the other person that wasn't happy for Lori was her daughter. Oh my God. She really wanted that car herself or another one. I'm like, poor George. It's like, what did I get myself into? Kids don't act like that these days. On Housewives, they, they're, they're more, they're better media trained. They're Kardashian trained.
Tamra Judge
They're Kardashian trained.
Teddy Mellencamp
But then we get Tammy leaves for Catalina for the weekend and locks Lindsay out of the house so she doesn't do anything. Lindsay plans to have a party at her mom's house and says she's going to find her way in. She has lots of people over and hopes Megan doesn't say anything to her mom.
Tamra Judge
Where does Lindsay live if she doesn't live with Tammy? She's only 18. Oh, I heard this part.
Teddy Mellencamp
I, I thought the same thing so I went and rewound it. She was supposed to be staying with her dad.
Tamra Judge
Oh, got you. Gotcha.
Teddy Mellencamp
But then apparently she didn't, so she.
Tamra Judge
Crawled through the doggy door to get.
Teddy Mellencamp
Which was a very small door.
Tamra Judge
I know. Well, she's a very small girl. Lindsay's very tiny and, and had a party knowing it was going to be filmed.
Teddy Mellencamp
I also want to know who cleaned up that party because I don't believe it was Lindsay.
Tamra Judge
No, I really.
Teddy Mellencamp
I don't believe it.
Tamra Judge
I never had a secret party when my parents were not home. I didn't party, though. I was.
Teddy Mellencamp
I mean, I partied, but we partied in fields like the rest of the people in South Carolina we would go out to. Like, a random field.
Tamra Judge
I never drank.
Teddy Mellencamp
One designated driver.
Tamra Judge
I was thinking, like, God, my kids don't drink. And I'm like, either did I? I didn't either. Like, all of high school, I got. I drank one time at a neighbor's house in high school, and I barfed so bad that I never drank again.
Teddy Mellencamp
Oh, look at you.
Tamra Judge
But I ended up pregnant at, you know, 17. But I was so. You did. I didn't drink soberly. Yeah, I did it soberly.
Teddy Mellencamp
What about when Cara goes wine was for women. I was like, what?
Tamra Judge
I can't. Okay. I know.
Teddy Mellencamp
This part was actually very hard for me. When Joe heads to the studio to record record her song for the first time, and she's late, which, you know how I feel about being late. But then at. At least I really hope it was the editing, because at least 25 times she said, if Slade just got here with my Starbucks, I would be better.
Tamra Judge
I know.
Teddy Mellencamp
The whole thing was a little easier.
Tamra Judge
Well, you'll see. When Gretchen comes in, Slade tries to get her a singing career as well.
Teddy Mellencamp
Well, she has a single. I checked. Oh, God, she does know who we forgot. I mean, we've got to do a full thing. We're going in the studio. We'll see if the same guys will have us in. But we also forgot that we could do Yolanda's song, the Airplane. Oh, my God.
Tamra Judge
Yeah. Well, that's all we got, folks.
Teddy Mellencamp
That's all we got. Here for another.
Tamra Judge
Just gonna fast forward to season three when the Tampster gets there.
Teddy Mellencamp
Oh, Tamster.
Tamra Judge
Tamster. The text.
Teddy Mellencamp
And the Simonator.
Tamra Judge
Simonator. Yeah, that's gonna be a real chore. My tan skin and bleach blonde broken hair. Yeah.
Teddy Mellencamp
And some of Lori's jewelry and a BB slash baby top.
Tamra Judge
Yep. And big oldies take all Bitties. Take old bitties.
Teddy Mellencamp
Can't wait.
Tamra Judge
Big old motherly giant jugs.
Teddy Mellencamp
Giant pre Jesus jugs.

Episode: *A Holiday Binge: TWOTS Flashback: RHOC 205 & 206
Release Date: January 1, 2025
Host/Authors: Teddi Mellencamp and Tamra Judge
Platform: iHeartPodcasts
In this festive episode of Two Ts In A Pod, hosts Teddi Mellencamp and Tamra Judge dive into a nostalgic review of episodes 205 and 206 of The Real Housewives of Orange County (RHOC). As they rekindle memories from past seasons, Teddi and Tamra offer their unique perspectives, humorous insights, and candid commentary on the drama-filled antics of the housewives. This episode is a must-listen for longtime fans of the show and newcomers curious about the iconic moments that have shaped RHOC's legacy.
Teddi and Tamra kick off their discussion by addressing the focus of episodes five and six, highlighting the challenges of balancing family life with the glamorous yet tumultuous world of RHOC.
Tamra Judge [03:10]: "I know it wasn't exciting. I mean, the show should have been called The Real Kids of Orange County. It was legit about to happen. And then it fell through."
Teddi Mellencamp [03:41]: "I was shocked to see that they could film underage kids drinking. The amount of slurs in these episodes is just... Bravo, why didn’t you clean them up?"
A significant portion of their conversation centers around Shane and his relationship with Gina, the Canadian pageant girl, offering critical takes on Shane's portrayal and behavior.
Tamra Judge [04:21]: "She only drinks smoothies because she just got her tonsils and adenoids? I’m not buying that one."
Teddi Mellencamp [05:03]: "If I was that girl, I'd rather zip back to the pageant world in Canada. Why is Shane so rude to everyone?"
The hosts dissect Shane's interactions, noting his consistent disrespect towards family members and new acquaintances alike.
Teddi and Tamra explore the complexities of Vicki and Brianna's relationship, focusing on Vicki's jealousy and Brianna's desire for independence post-graduation.
Tamra Judge [10:36]: "Brianna's smart. She lives on a farm, has four kids, and isn’t concerned with Botox or being the 'Riches.' Sounds like us."
Teddi Mellencamp [25:14]: "Vicki is insanely jealous. She’s never happy for anybody else, even when Lori meets a great guy."
The discussion shifts towards the authenticity of RHOC, with Teddi and Tamra questioning the scripted nature of the show's drama.
Tamra Judge [17:40]: "She acted like she'd give two shits about him unless they're acting for TV. Everything was set up."
Teddi Mellencamp [18:10]: "Slade wants to control every aspect of any woman he’s with. He manufactures faux scenes for quirky sound bites."
The hosts reference instances where cast members seemed to play roles rather than depict genuine emotions, drawing parallels to other reality TV relationships.
Adding a lighter touch, Teddi and Tamra reminisce about early 2000s fashion trends showcased in RHOC, including oversized jewelry and distinctive hairstyles.
Tamra Judge [21:09]: "They wore big, giant jewelry back then. Everything was overly gaudy."
Teddi Mellencamp [22:32]: "I have to watch those Abercrombie stores again. So many memories!"
The conversation also touches on the musical aspirations of RHOC cast members, discussing Joe's recordings and collaborations with notable artists.
Tamra Judge [24:06]: "Early 2000s, she and Lady Gaga were openers at a concert in New York."
Teddi Mellencamp [24:37]: "Joe has a single released. We could add one of his songs to our Housewives cover album!"
Teddi and Tamra reflect on the parenting styles and personal growth of the housewives, emphasizing the contrast between on-screen personas and real-life responsibilities.
Tamra Judge [19:23]: "Joe's like a little puppy. Can I go? Can I please go?"
Teddi Mellencamp [25:55]: "She seems like a nice person, 45 years old, married but still finding her way."
Tamra Judge [10:36]: "Brianna's smart. She lives on a farm, has four kids, and isn’t concerned with Botox or being the 'Riches.' Sounds like us."
Teddi Mellencamp [15:01]: "But it's this - every person has an asshole side, but Shane is an asshole to everyone across the board."
Tamra Judge [17:20]: "It's all acting. When Gretchen Slade came on the show, everything was set up. It wasn't genuine."
Teddi Mellencamp [22:25]: "Sometimes you don't have a choice. It’s like my kids always want to go into Brandy Melville for some overpriced sweatpants."
Tamra Judge [27:46]: "I was pregnant at 17, but I did it soberly."
Teddi and Tamra wrap up the episode by expressing their mixed feelings about the evolution of The Real Housewives of Orange County. They appreciate the nostalgic moments but remain critical of the fabricated drama and lack of authenticity. The hosts highlight the importance of genuine relationships and personal growth over manufactured conflicts and envy.
Tamra Judge [25:55]: "She’s still married but not happy for others. That’s just Vicki’s nature, and we all see that."
Teddi Mellencamp [29:26]: "Big old motherly giant jugs. Giant pre-Jesus jugs."
The episode concludes with Teddi and Tamra hinting at future discussions and flashbacks, promising more insightful and entertaining reviews of RHOC and other reality TV phenomena.
